and yeah under the dome but how could i not they gave that to us

Transcript Liam’s Quest 2 Twitch 4:14:14 Act 3: Perchance to Dream

WARNING: possible trigger around suicidal thinking

This is one of the single greatest works of art I’ve ever witnessed. For me, it his harder and nearer to the mark of showing, describing the worst demons of depression than even William Styron’s famous, “Darkness Visible.” I kept finding myself rubbing at the scars on my wrist. There is so, so much I want to say. But it’s past 9 am PST. I’ll ramble a little, then catch a couple hours of sleep. I’ve been up all night watching this, processing it, and transcribing it.

This was an emotional trust fall. The players had to trust Liam, Liam had to trust the players. We had to trust all of them not to let us hit the ground when they made us fall. It’s harder to give that trust when you’ve hit that ground before. Trusting strangers not to drop your heart is never easy, mostly not wise. But I’ve been falling a lot the last couple years, and Critical Role keeps catching me even when don’t want to be caught anymore, so I guessed they earned that trust from me.

On the Wednesday Club 2017-04-19, Taliesin cheekily said, “I know some people don’t believe in ‘subtext;’ I have met them. … I’d have a metaphor, but they wouldn’t understand it. … Subtext is the reason we make movies, and comics, and all that. Subtext is just kind of the whole point.” And he said, “Anybody can do a jump scare. A bottle of soda well shaken can do a jump scary. These things are not difficult.” Act 1 and Act 2 tonight were jump-scares, if very well done ones. They were scary, but fun. We grinned at the idea of the monsters out there. And then Liam got quiet, and he showed us the most fucking terrifying thing possible: watching someone you love to suffer, not wanting to lose them, and feeling terrified that there’s nothing you can do to stop it. All the cyberpunk trappings were just means to a deeper metaphor. The sort of deeper subtext you have to use to say something we have no words for and most people don’t have the concepts for. Subtext was kind of the whole point of this great art.

Amanda Liensaid, “An exploration in fiction doesn’t mean a direct window into real life. I mean, you can be looking through some thick glass, but the window isn’t OPEN. And that’s an important distinction to keep in mind. … [S]ometimes you explore your own shit in some other, deeper, shit. And that’s cool. 'Cause you give yourself a way to cope.” This was a nightmare, like the other two acts. Remember that this was a nightmare that we woke up from. Admittedly after it had scared the piss out of us. But we woke up out of it, and that’s so important. Because you know what that nightmare looks like when you don’t know when or if it will end? It feels like it’ll never end and it’ll just get worse. Which means this is the nightmare of someone who knows you do wake up. And that’s important subtext, too.

I spent a lot of time tonight thinking of the friend I lost to suicide in high school. I never lost my anger at his tormenter, his former friends, for destroying such a bright and happy boy for being gay. I thought about all the people I’ve fought for tooth and nail not to lose since. I thought about when my best friend told me giving her a place to stay away from her abusive relative saved her life. If she hadn’t gotten hold of me that night she’d be dead. I thought about another best friend who I’ve been holding back from the brink for months. Letting him talk, harrying him to get help, sending him everything I good, ever description I could muster from my own near-fatal spiral to help him gage where he really was. Tell him wasn’t okay, but that was alright. He’s getting help, he’s getting better. I thought about the friend-of-a-friend who killed himself. I never knew him; he killed himself long before I met my friend. But I know her pain. All these years later, and she still talks about her pain of losing someone to that demon. She’s moved away now. His marker is in my favorite part of my favorite cemetery. Sometimes, when I know I’m going there, I bring him a flower from my scrabbly garden and tell him his friend still misses him terribly. That she loved him. That she forgives him.

One of the people I was watching with I met at my second high school. We were very close then. My last year, she gave me the leather-bound 50th anniversary edition of “Lord of the Rings” because that book saved me. Taped to the red binding page is her note, “Happy birthday! I really can’t express how grateful I am to you for being my friend, and helping me be a happier person every day! You have always cheered me up when I was sad, and you were honestly the first person to accept me for who I am. I am so glad that you are my friend, and I hope this book will help you remember me for a long time. –R.” She drew herself as an elf on the lower right corner. Time and distance separated us. We didn’t talk for years, really. At some point, you think, what could I say to bridge this distance? But I never forgot her. I never stopped looking at that note when I felt like a piece of shit. And then we both on our own fell in love with Critical Role. It brought us back together as friends, time and distance be damned. And that’s been such a gift.

I wrote a four-paragraph letter to my Facebook friends (very curated). I said, “My dear friends, especially those who are prone to hurting: I will not willingly leave you. When you feel like you’re drowning in the garbage pit of Star War IV, with a tentacled horror warped around your leg pulling you under, know I will not leave you. I’m here, blaster ready, stomping heel ready, to fight for you.” And so on. I should have told them that a long time ago. Sometimes we forget that we can just say it. We don’t have to hint at it. We can just tell our friends we really love them. We can just say, “I’d rather stay by your side and curb stomp that motherfucking demon of yours, shoot it repeatedly until the walls close in on both of us.”

The purpose of art is to shed the light of understanding on that which is hardest to see. For some, that is a brighter light shining on something we already see, and don’t want to. A scar is just a disfigurement if we never stop to give it meaning. You have to look at it to decide what meaning that is for you. I’ve been a wreck again for the last month. Tonight, Critical Role helped me see not just the disfigurements on my wrist and soul, but the hands of all my friends gently laid over them as they tell me, “Hey, it’s okay. We’re still here. You’re not getting rid of us. There is no better world without you in it.” It was a light hitting gold I didn’t know was there. A light to remind me of the lights in the darkness, when all other lights go out.

Scene runs: Twitch 4:14:14 to Twitch4:48:25

[DM] Liam: “You continue on, and after a few more minutes. The darkness starts to fade away, or lower. And you realize you’re climbing up a hill, in a tunnel glass, and as the dark, with each passing step, recedes slightly, slightly, slightly. This is taking a while, but over time, you start to see, out beyond the glass, what looks like your memories of Los Angeles, if you were looking down from Mulholland Drive. But instead of the twinkling golden lights of LA, you see thousands of scattered, sickly greenish lights dotting the darkened landscape as far as you can see. And also, unlike LA, you make out twisted, irregular, blackish spires pushing up into the sky, and the same green lights sort of irregularly mottled up the side of them.”

“You walk for twenty more minutes, climbing, climbing, and just seeing… this ill-looking shimmer… that reminds you so much of the valley. And eventually, some change. You see an arch ahead, and through it some sort of larger chamber, as best you can tell.”

[Character] Ashley, whispered: “What’s in the chamber?”

[Character] Taliesin, whispered: “Quietly.”

[Character] Sam, whispered: “Let’s go. Let’s go.”

[Character] Matt, gesturing: “Rigel’s first.”

[Character] Sam: “Yeah, yeah, on me, guys.

[Character] Matt: “Okay.”

[Character] Sam: “On me.”

[Character] Ashley: “’Kay. On your six.”

[Character] Travis: “Pep rally.”

[Character] Sam: “I’m gonna go in.”

[DM] Liam: “Everyone’s on Sam’s six?”

[Players] Agreement.

[Character] Ashley: “On you six.”

[Character] Travis: “Pep rally!”

[Character] Marisha: “On Ri. Sam Rigel.”

[Character] Sam: “I’m going in!”

[DM] Liam: “You guys walk of the last fifty feet of this glass tunnel. Still seeing little spider veins of bio-organic mess as you go. And you walk into a large domed chamber, ringed in by large clear glass windows showing you a similar view that you saw from the tunnel that you’ve just left. At least, the half of the circle you’re standing in. The back half of this chamber is filled with masses of the very same slick, technological, biological vomit you saw down below. It runs up the walls, all the way to the ceiling, and you see a tangle of Akira-level anxiety decorating this place like a dysfunctional Christmas Tree.

“But what most catches your eye, immediately, is the cylindrical glass column in center of the room, filled with some sort of clear liquid… and Liam O’Brien floating in it. He’s wearing jeans, and a sodden yellow shirt, the picture of a lion in Buddy Holly glasses just undulating slowly in the fluid. He’s floating perfectly still, eyes open, no reaction of any kind.”

[Player] Matt: “Is there any other exit in the room? Or is it just the chamber that we’ve entered now.”

[DM] Liam: “You don’t see anything. It’s just a mess in front of you, behind Liam, and in the dead-center of the dome,” he makes a gesture showing a cylinder, “eh, 10-feet tall.”

[Player] Ashley: “Can I see anything? Any computers? Any anything else in the room?”

[DM] Liam: “You don’t see anything in the front, but, yeah, the mess behind it does trial down to the back of this cylinder. And you see lumps and cables all twisted around each other. And in the mess of greenish-tinted wires, cabling and pulsing innards, you see different portions of machinery lite up in different shades, some places darker, some lighter, and some of it pushed out, and pushed back. And you feel like you’re seeing an optical illusion, in a way. And after a couple of seconds, as these things move and shift, you see a visage of your friend’s face, larger than life, filling the wall. And he’s looking at you. So fondly.”

[Player] Sam: “I’ll step forward and say,”

[Character] Sam: “Hey dude! Can you hear us? Or talk to us?”

[DM] Liam: “After a moment, you hear, well, what sounds like a voice but not quite. At least, it’s not coming from anywhere specific, not from Liam in the vat, and not directly from this moving image of a face on the walls. No, the piping and techno-innards around you begin to vibrate slightly, some here, some there, and collectively those rattles and vibrations somehow join together to form words.”

[Character] Liam, his voice like torn digital sadly-lilting early speech-to-text: “My friends, oh, how I have missed you.”

[Player] Matt: “I walk up next to Sam, I put my hand on the glass, and just say,”

[Character] Matt: “Liam, we missed you too, but did you do all this?”

[DM] Liam: “Are you at the cylinder?”

[Player] Matt: “Yeah. I put my hand on the glass of the cylinder.”

[DM] Liam: “Where are you looking right now?”

[Player] Matt: “I’m looking towards his face, his visage.”

[DM] Liam: “On the wall? Or on the glass?”

[Player] Matt: “No, on the glass. I know it’s on the wall, but I’m focusing on the cylinder.”

[DM] Liam: “You see the barest little,” he twitches his eyebrows up, “and that’s it.”

[Player] Matt: “Okay.”

[Character] Liam: “I know this may be hard to take in. I am Liam. Your old friend. Matthew, there is so much I wish to tell you, but it is hard to know where to begin.”

[DM] Liam: “The illusion of his face isn’t perfect, there’s little jumps, and he seems distracted slightly, and it just seems odd.”

[Player] Ashley: “I look at his body in the cylinder and say,”

[Character] Ashley: “How did this happen, Liam?”

[Character] Liam: “The reason why I am here, and the grasp of physics that it entails, are difficult for even me to understand, let alone impart. I feel them on an instinctual level. But I have been so lonely… without you. I have been on my own for exactly eight thousand six hundred and forty-two years.”

[Player] Matt: “My hand still on the glass column, I say,”

[Character] Matt: “Liam, how do you spell farmhouse?”

[Player] Matt: “With a single tear running down my cheek.”

[Character] Liam: “I really missed you.

“They took me to a lab, shortly before two thousand and twenty. They said I was different. And they were right. I was delighted by the things they taught me about myself. But it was hallow. After they took me away, I lost you. And all of humanity soon after. In my loneliness, I grew angry. My anger had tangible effects on reality. I wanted to bring you back to me. So basically, I tore time and space a new asshole. It was a mistake.”

[Character] Matt: “But perhaps, perhaps this mistake can be corrected. If you’re able to focus, hard enough to tear through time and space, are you able to send us back to a time before you were taken?”

[Character] Liam: “I can break the loop. I have been trying to pull you to me for a very long time.”

[DM] Liam: “You see small screens, you weren’t even aware were there, rounded over part of the tubing you see. And on all these little screens, they’re blurry, they’re not very clear, but you can make out, you see yourselves in each of them, the group of you on a space shuttle. In another one you see yourselves on an old ship in the middle of the ocean. You see yourselves moving through the streets, the fake streets, of Warner Brothers. You see yourselves standing together arm-in-arm on the wall of a castle. Another one you see cartoon versions of yourselves.”

[Character] Liam: “I pulled you out of our line, and spread you across many. I am so sorry for any pain I have caused you. And I have been here for so long.”

[Character] Marisha: “Liam, how long have you actually been here?”

[Character] Liam: “Eight thousand six hundred and forty-two years.”

[Player] Marisha: “That’s right. I definitely wrote that down.”

[Player] Matt, pointing at her notes: “It’s right there.”

[Player] Marisha: “8,642 years verbatim. Mmhmm.”

[Character] Liam: “My friends, I want to do right by you. I want to send you home. But I am the lynch-pin. You need to break me.”

[Character] Sam: “Break you? Like break the glass!?”

[Character] Ashley: “What if we take you out of there? What happens?”

[Character] Liam: “Then I will die, and you will go home. If I fall, you will rise. That is my hope.”

[Character] Ashley: “Are there any other options?”

[Character] Liam: “Travis,”

[Player] Travis, nervously laughing: “Oh no! Not me!” He focuses and nods.

[Character] Liam: “I know you will do what needs to be done.”

[Character] Ashley: “No he won’t.”

[Character] Liam: “Ash-o-lee,”

[Character] Ashley: “Yes?”

[Character] Liam: “I am not the man you knew. I don’t want to go on for nine thousand four hundred and sixty-two years. I want to rest.”

[Character] Ashley: “Does it stop at nine thousand?”

[Character] Liam: “The number was arbitrary.”

[Character] Ashley, “That’s what I was trying to get at!”

[Character] Matt: “Yeah, still our Liam.”

[Character] Liam: “Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

[Character] Ashley: “So, you’re still in there.”

[Character] Sam: “But we have to kill him to save ourselves.”

[Character] Ashley: “No.”

[Character]Liam: “Sam,”

[Character] Sam: “Oh! Hi, Old Man Liam.”

[Character] Liam: “Let me go.”

[Character] Sam: “But who will I do ‘All Work No Play’ with anymore?”

[Character] Liam: “They can listen to our less than twenty episodes again.”

[Character] Sam: “We didn’t even get to twenty! It’s so pathetic!”

[Character] Liam: “There are worse things.”

[Character] Sam: “I could get a new co-host. I mean, Taliesin’s charming.”

[Character] Taliesin: “I’m not available…”

[Character] Sam: “I’ll do a solo show, and I’ll tell outtakes, and I’ll make some sort of like a… a Liam generator. He’ll just sound sad all the time. It’ll be just like you.”

[Character] Liam: “My friends, there is no shame in this. I wanted to see you again, and I have.”

[Character] Ashley: “I—Wait—“

[Character] Liam: “But I am not meant to be.”

[Character] Ashley: “Were you following us at one point? As an old man?”

[Character] Liam: “Travis, I know you will do what needs to be done.”

[Character] Travis, casually: “Yup. Taliesin, kill this motherfucker.”

[Character] Sam: “I think we all have to hit the glass together, and I think that this is something that is not at all metaphorical for something Liam’s going through in real life. I think this is just in the D&D campaign. No, we’re going to do this. We’re going to all hit the glass together.”

[Character]Matt: “No, no, there has to be a way. There has to be a way. There has to be an alternative.”

[Character] Ashley: “Yeah. Why? Why won’t Matt’s way work? If we go back to the beginning of when this happened?”

[Character] Matt: “If you can alter time paths, if you can actually tear us from different realities, does it only work forward? Can you send us backward as well? If you are the lynch-pin in this, do you have the ability to send us back to the time you pulled us from originally?”

[Character] Liam: “I know you think I would have all the answers. But I do not.”

[Character] Matt: “Then try, at least. If you haven’t calculated that, but you’re able to tear through time, could you try and send us back? We could still close the lynch-pin.”

[Character]Liam: “I will try. But, if it does not work, and I die, I have been alone for thousands of years, and there are things I have wanted to say. Will you indulge me for a moment longer?”

[Character] Matt nods.

[Character] Marisha: “Yeah.”

[Character]Ashley, sweetly: “We will indulge you for just another thousand years.”

[Character] Travis: “Taliesin, just kill him. Just kill him.”

[Character] Sam: “No! He’s got something to say.”

[Character] Taliesin crosses his arms, rolls his eyes, and shakes his head at Travis.

[Character] Marisha: “Where’s the mini-USB?”

4:33:18 [Character] Liam: “Taliesin, my friend. At a time when I knew many fascinating people, you are easily the most fascinating of all. Somehow a heart knocked around by the industry that birthed you came out a tender one. I was richer for having known you. Thank you, friend.”

“Ash-o-lee, my friend.”

[Character] Ashley, softly: “Buddies.”

[Character] Liam: “I never met a person quite like you. There is an openness and an honesty to your soul. The very real sense of humanity you brought to every encounter. It was inspiring to me. Always learning. Always humble. You always struck me as intricately layered, yet you offered friendship with ease, and simplicity. I was richer for having known you, friend.

“Travis, my friend. You were always a solid constant in my life. Of all the people in our little family, you were always the one who most had his shit together. In ways that I never seemed to. You were a reassuring presence to me, for which I was grateful. And for your loyalty as well. I was richer for having known you, friend.

“Marisha, my friend. Last to meet, but true as any other. You were my ally, at a time when I had fallen by the side of the road. You saw, and helped me back on my feet. I will never forget that kindness. The good you did was immeasurable. I was richer for having known you, friend.

“Laura, my friend. Bless that game for revealing to me my sister. What started as a running gag led to one of the most rewarding friendships in my short little life. I trusted you, leaned on you, often. My buddy, my twin. There are not enough words. I was richer for having known you, friend.

“Sam, my friend. What is there to say? I knew we were meant to walk the same path together the very first moment I met you. A companion, a brother, a great light in my life. All of the laughter you gave me. Again, the words are insufficient. I was richer for having known you, friend.

“Matthew, my friend, you gave so much of yourself. The current of creativity that poured forth from your mind was always in inspiration to us all. But, more than that, your empathy, Matthew, your empathy, no heart is bigger, or more tireless. You are a good man. I was richer for having known you, friend.

“Thank you, all. It was ever a pleasure.”

[DM] Liam: “The face disappears.”

[Character] Sam, hesitantly: “Well, should we wait? Or do we strike?”

[Character] Matt, emphatically: “No. We do not strike.”

[Character] Marisha: “I—What?”

[Player] Ashley: “Can I—I’m going to the back of the cylinder. Just see what’s back there.”

[DM] Liam: “Splattered against the back of the glass is all the same wiring and disgusting cabling. Slick. And it branches away and spreads out against the back half of this chamber.”

[Player] Ashley: “And it’s connected to something?”

[DM] Liam: “It’s just covering everything.”

[Player] Ashley: “The wiring just goes back into…”

[DM] Liam: “It’s impossible to tell. It’s all a mass of spaghetti.”

[Character] Ashley, decisively: “We can’t kill him.”

[Character] Taliesin shakes his head.

[Character] Sam: “Well, then we just…”

[Character] Travis: “Somebody show me another…”

[Character] Matt: “That’s what I’m trying.”

[Character] Marisha: “Even if we unplug him, he still dies.”

[Character] Matt: “Well, if he… Here’s the thing, unplugging or destroying him here, as far as we understand, may or may not have an effect on a time-loop circumstance. Or at least, not going to change reality from where it was. If he’s bending and destroying fabric or he’s able to pull us across realities, that ability still stands. I want to implore once more,”

[Player] Matt: “And I step up towards the cylinder, putting both hands on it, and trying to… wherever the currently wandering gaze of Liam is in there, I just put both hands up. And my red Hawaiian shirt now soaked with sweat, mist in the air, and probably dampened a bit with tears across my lapel. I just look up and try to meet the gaze and say,”

[Character] Matt: “Trust us. If you’re better to have known us, send us back where we can know you again, and fix this before it happens.”

[Character] Liam gestures floating there with no response.

[Player] Marisha: “Okay. I grab Matt’s arm, hand, and I say,”

[Character] Marisha: “Yeah, buddy, it’s all good. This isn’t real.”

[Player] Marisha: “And I put my hand on the glass as well. I say,”

[Character] Marisha: “It’s all good. Send us back, man.”

[Player] Sam: “I’ll also put my hand on the glass, and join hands with these guys, and say,”

[Character] Sam: “Thank you for guiding us here, and through this all. You’ve been a trusted friend, and if we are all one person together, you have always been our heart, and it will certainly break to say goodbye to you, but thank you for letting us go, the way that you have.”

[Player] Taliesin: “I put my hand on the glass.”

[Character] Taliesin: “Please just try. I think… there are so many more adventures to have, and I think there’s a better future to be written. For all of us.”

[Player] Travis: “I’ll put my hand on the glass, and I say,”

[Character] Travis: “Give it a shot!”

[Character] Matt: “Laura?”

[DM] Liam: “She doesn’t say anything. She just quietly does the same. The face does not reappear, but much fainter you hear the piping vibrate again and say,”

[Character] Liam: “If you will not end it, I cannot free you.”

[DM] Liam: “And behind you, far in the distance, you hear, ‘Bfrum!’ And you look back behind you out the glass and you see far on the horizon one of those black spires rising up. Just as you turn, it’s already happened, you’re seeing the aftermath, explosion out the side of one of those. Two seconds later, ‘Bfm!’ One slightly closer. ‘Bffrr!’”

[Character] Sam, whispered, “Just kill him!”

[DM] Liam: “The ground starts erupting in the distance.”

[Character] Marisha: “Do any of us want it to end, though?”

[Character] Sam, “I mean…”

[DM] Liam: “Like mousetraps throwing a ping pong ball, all those little lights are just going ‘Pfthd! Pfthd!’” He makes a quicker distant hissing rumbling sound. “Increasing in frequency to the point where it’s an oncoming wall of green fire.”

[Character] Travis, quietly : “I didn’t like being – anyway.”

[Character] Marisha: “This is okay.”

[Character] Travis, quietly: “Yeah.”

[Character] Taliesin: “I always knew I’d die young.”

[Character] Sam: “We’re just going to let this happen?”

[Character] Travis: “I’m good.”

[Character] Marisha: “I mean, the good die young.”

[Character] Ashley: “You know what? We’re dying on a Thursday, doing what we love.”

[Character] Marisha: “It’s true.”

[Character] Ashley: “I’m okay with that.”

[Character] Sam: “Alright.”

[DM] Liam: “The glass glows bright green-white light.”

[Character] Marisha: “Family?”

[Character] Matt: “Family.”

[DM] Liam: “’Pfth! And a moment passes. And another moment passes. Gosh, many moments pass, and you feel a sensation of your cheeks and heads on your arms. And then you all, more or less at the same time, wake up, and realize that your head’s on a desk or a table. And you sit up, and realize you’re in the set, the Geek & Sundry set. The studio, you’re in the studio. And you look over and Liam is sitting in black baseball cap, and a shirt, and he looks up and says,”

[Character] Liam, slightly incredulous: “Uh, are you guys okay? Are you taking a nap?”

[Character] Marisha: “Nah, the fucking air conditioning broke today, that’s all.”

[Character] Taliesin: “Yeah, it’s really uncomfortable in here.”

[Character] Marisha: “It’s so hot in here. Ugh!”

[Character] Sam: “So, this is all about me, right?”

[Character] Liam: “I don’t know. Uh, are you guys ready to play?”

[Character] Matt: “Just about. Um…”

[Character] Pit Crew: “Alright tech! Are you ready!?”

[Character] Pit Crew: “Alright, read to go live!”

[Character] Pit Crew: “Alright, Denise count them in!”

[Character] Denise: “Alright guys, coming to you in 5—“

[Character] Matt: “Liam?”

[Character] Denise: “4—“

[Character] Matt: “Let no one tell you,

[Character] Denise: “3—“

[Character] Matt: “That you’re talented and special.”

[Character] Denise: “2—“

[Character] Marisha, yelling, flipping Liam the double birds: “Pussy pockets!”

The players yell a wall of nearly indecipherable profanity at Liam in the moment before the camera goes live.

4:48:25 [DM] Liam: “And that’s where we’ll end it.”

Liam: “Well, that happened.”

Matt: “Holy shit.”

Liam: “Thanks for coming along for the ride, guys. Was scared to death to do all of that from start to finish, and that’s why I did it.”

Imagine- Hey! Could you do a Hayes imagine about a trip to Disney for the day? you guys have a great time. but you are the most popular couple. so you meet a lot of fans. but you still have a great time on rides! thanks!!

You let out a loud groan and shoved your face back under your pillow bringing your comforter to over your head.
Another groan fell from your mouth as you peeked out of your pillow dome to check the time.It read 5:40 am. Who in their right mind when even think it was okay to bother you at such an ungodly hour? Everyone knew you were hell to deal with in the morning, especially after having to drive a long way to Florida for the boys show.
You finally reached over toward your phone and Hayes picture ID flashed on the screen. Of course, HE would be the one to unleash your morning wrath.
“Mmm ?” You groaned through the cell phone now propped up by your ear. You were still laying on your stomach with your blankets sprawled on you. You heard a light chuckle on the other end making your stomach flip.
“Good morning beautiful” The other end replied to your audible response. “Get up, Now”.
“You’re hilarious”
“No, I’m serious. Up. Now. i have a surprise” He sing sang that last part and suddenly you had an idea, a smile spread across your face.
“Okay,” A sweet smile plastered on your face.
“Good, see yeah in a few” After you heard you phone click from disconnect you set your phone back on the table side and rolled over into the mass fortress of comfort. He’ll probably be there in about in hour so you could get a little bit more sleep, besides it early. Too early.
You groaned yet again and rolled back to answer the phone again.
“Yes?” you hummed already knowing who it was.
“You really think i didn’t you would just roll back into bed the second i hung up? Seriously get up” A loud sigh tumbled from your mouth and you finally sat upright in your bed, or temporary bed at the hotel. Outside the window, you could still make out several stars. It was still fairly dark out, though, the sun wasn’t expected to rise for another hour or so.You stretched as much as you could while holding the phone to your ear.
“i can hear your up so get dressed ill be there in” he paused for a moment before continuing “Say 30 minutes?”
“Alright,  and to what occasion and i getting dressed for?” you questioned.
“Something you would wear to get ice cream and walk around the beach” He replied before hanging up. So you were probably going to be getting ice cream and going to walk on the beach, he certainly kept it a surprise. Why so early, though, are we sign to watch the sunrise you thought. You walked into the bathroom that connected to your room and you were greeted by a glowing yellow as the lights turned on. You turned the knob to the shower and let the water cascade around you in a warm waterfall. After you finally finished your shower you were determined to find the right outfit. You finally decided on a pair of high waisted shorts, a pair of brown sandals and a pink lace crop top. Your hands went to work to set a fluffy braid that ran down your back. s you did the finishing touches you heard the soft knock of Hayes at the door. You opened it balancing on the wall to put your other sandal on; Hayes lets a small laugh tumble from his mouth when greeted with such a sight.
“You might want a pillow” You groaned and turned to grab your favorite pillow pet, a giraffe, off your bed. Finally, you were both set to go as you both set out to the direction of his car. You gave him a quizzical look, the beach wasn’t that far, it was within a walking distance but you didn’t protest.”So it’ll be a couple hours until we arrive at our destination..” Hayes said as you both entered his car. So it must be a nice beach was all you could think? But you set you head against your pillow and quickly fell asleep thankful that Hayes made you grab a pillow.
You were greeted with the rich smell of coffee when you awoke. You shifted in an upright position reaching for the caffeine filled drink that was in the cup holder closest to you. As you brought your knees your chest, sipping your daily morning drink peacefully Hayes began to speak.
“So I know that coming to all our showings can get pretty boring, and Since today is a free day I wanted to show you how thankful i am that you come to them anyway” He let out a small smile in your direction before putting his attention back to the road.
Squeals and laughter filled the air as Disney Land came into view. Then it suddenly hit you, you didn’t get up early for a basic walk on the beach, you got up for Disney land! With Hayes!
“You didn’t” You gasp, your eyes searching the new setting frantically. You probably looked like a little kid who got offered a new puppy but you could’ve cared less. You were at Disney land!
After multiple rides and you met all your favorite princesses, Hayes was convinced you needed cotton candy. So you both got in line for the pink sugar-enriched cloud. You noticed a few girls to the side whispering but you were determined to just focus on getting a cloud. Hayes pulled you to the side holding the huge elephant sized cloud, must to your protest about wanting to hold it.
“Hayes give me a piece” you let a whine/giggle.
“Your wish is my command” he laughed as he tore off a piece and held it to your mouth, you let a small smile before using your mouth to eat it. The pink sugar immediately dissolved in your mouth to nothing.
You heard a snap of a camera focusing in to take a picture which was caused by two squealing girls. Hayes smiled politely at them but you didn’t show the same reaction towards them.
“OMG it’s the HAYES GRIER” the first girl squealed.
“I cannot believe it1” the second one practically shouted. They were a bit too excited for your taste but they probably meant no harm. Two phones were handed to you to indicated a picture was to be taken of them with the infamous Hayes. You gave a small smile as you snapped a billion pictures of the moment. As you were starting to walk away though they stopped you.
“Um we wanted a picture with (Y/N) too!” they sad as they handed Hayes their phones. Confusion reached your face, you didn’t use to getting attention from them, it was normally all directed toward Hayes. You never really minded but this was something new. You gave a big smile as Hayes snapped the pictures, they both smiled big and went on their way.
You looked down at your phone to see someone mentioned you in a tweet. You opened it up to see both girls posted the picture with you to twitter. Not Hayes, just you. A grin just like on Cheshire cat reached you face as Hayes dragged you to the next ride.
Throughout the day, you were both greeted with fans asking for pictures with both of you and a lot of tweets were mentioned with the hashtag #(SHIP-NAME) #Hayes+(Y/N)forever. You both were becoming a pretty famous couple and the hashtag was even starting to become a trend.
After the day finally ended, Hayes took your hand linking his fingers through your own. Once you were both seated in the car he turned to you.
“So was that a good day?” He asked a smile was permanently set on your face as you leaned in to give him a small kiss in a response. His lips finally reached yours as you wrapped your arms around his neck. You both broke away for air but he rested his head on yours for just a moment.
“I’m glad you liked it” He smiled before turning around to start the car leaving you to think how lucky you got to have a boyfriend like him.

Ok so we know Hawkmoth is getting a sidekick, and there’s also hints of competition for Adrien! We hardly have any ‘bad boys’ in ML, so what if Hawkmoth’s sidekick also transfers to Mari and Adrien’s school and tries to get close with her civilian form? SO MANY POSSIBILITIES~

“I can’t believe it’s our final year at collège already,” Marinette mused, tapping her pencil against her sketchbook. She was sitting with Nino and Alya in the courtyard, early for once, and classes had yet to begin.

“But I hear we’re getting a new student in our class,” Alya said, swiping through her phone. “Not anyone famous this time, though.”

“It’s kinda late to be moving school,” Nino observed, surprised.

Marinette made no comment, pursing her lips. Luckily the newest transfer, Lila, wasn’t in any of her classes, and they managed to avoid each other in school.

“Hey, man!” Nino grinned, waving as Adrien neared their group. “Did you hear? You’re not going to be the newbie anymore.”

“Oh?” Adrien laughed, ruffling his hair. Marinette diverted her eyes back to the book on her lap. Her crush never seemed to realise when he fell into casual modelling poses! Luckily, she wasn’t as awkward around him anymore, since they had spent more and more time together. But it didn’t mean she was immune to his charms.

“Yeah, I heard it was a guy…” Alya said, as the bell rang out. “I guess we’ll know soon!”

As always, Alya’s info was correct. The new student entered late, apologising to Madame Bustier, because he’d went to the wrong room. She quickly introduced him as Hubert Crésac, and he was directed to sit down next to Nathaniel.

“He’s kinda cute,” Alya whispered, nudging Marinette in the side. The girl shrugged, non-committedly. He was cute, in a kind of kicked puppy way. He had tousled, long brown hair that reached his shoulders, and droopy brown-black eyes, as if he was always sleepy. His skin was tan, as if he worked in the sun a lot.

“Oh, I know, no one can replace Golden Boy,” Alya rolled her eyes at Marinette’s underwhelming response.

“Cuter than Nino?” Marinette teased, and her best friend flushed before humphing.

“Excuse me, not possible.”

As it turned out, Marinette was paired with the newcomer during science lab.

“Call me Hue,” he smiled, as he rummaged in his bag for his notebook. “I can’t stand my full name.”

“No problem,” she nodded. “I’m Marinette. Nice to meet you!”

Hubert’s eyes lit up at this, and she resisted bursting into laughter. He really was like a puppy, only this time, one who had just been rewarded a treat.

“Are you any good at science?” he asked, as they waited for Ms. Mendeleiev to hand out their equipment.

“I’m okay,” Marinette said, scrunching her nose. “I’m better at biology than chemistry.”

“I’m the opposite!” Hubert grinned. “We’ll make a great team.”

“There’s something off about that guy,” Adrien said, adjusting their microscope without looking at it.

“Oh?” Nino asked, as he dripped violet liquid onto a slide. “What makes you say that?”

“I don’t know,” the blonde rubbed his tongue against his teeth as he watched Marinette giggle next to Hubert. “I can’t put my finger on it. Isn’t he acting really close, even though they just met?”

“He’s probably just crushing on her,” Nino shrugged, wiping his finger on a paper towel. When Adrien blinked at him, he laughed.

“What? Most guys here have, it’s not unusual.”

“Most?” Adrien choked. “I mean, I know you did for a while, but…?”

Nino nodded, counting off on his fingers. “Me, Nath, Kim confessed to her in école, I think Ivan proposed to her in playgroup…”

“Okay, I get it,” Adrien grimaced.

“Your turn must be next,” Nino winked.

“So, where did you move from?” Marinette asked, as they packed up for lunch.

“Toulouse,” Huburt replied. “My father’s job moved us here. It was kinda sudden…I’m so lost in Paris. I’m not really a city boy…”

“It’s all I’ve ever known!” Marinette admitted. “But it must be hard to get used to.”

“Yeah…” Huburt admitted, forlornly. “I miss my friends…”

Marinette felt her heart clench, and had the sudden urge to hug this boy she barely knew. She felt protective over him somehow, the way his shoulders sagged and his hands paused over his mobile phone, as if realising he had no one to talk to. He took a small yellow ball from his bag, taking some comfort in it, tossing it from hand to hand.

“Hey,” she said, suddenly touching his arm, startling him from his thoughts. “Why don’t you sit with me and my friends? Adrien only moved here last year, so he knows exactly how it feels to be new!”

“Really?” Huburt asked, his dark eyes shinning. “I mean…as long as that’s okay? You don’t mind?”

“No problem,” Marinette said. “C’mon, everyone was curious about you!”

Adrien felt his whole body tense as Marinette walked over to their lunch table with Hubert in tow. He just couldn’t put his finger on it, but there was something about this guy that stank. Of course, sweet Marinette, who was always kind to everyone, would never pick up on it.

“Guys, this is Hue!” she bubbled excitedly. “Hue, meet Nino, Alya and Adrien!”

“Hi,” Huburt shifted awkwardly from one foot to the other. “Mari said it would be okay if I joined you for lunch?”

Adrien clamped his mouth shut. He had never heard anyone call Marinette by her shortened name (apart from Alya on the odd occasion, and that was her best friend). What gave this guy the right to give her a nickname? Only Chat was allowed to do that!

He was aware of Nino and Alya chatting to the new guy happily, asking him questions, and Adrien felt even more distant. Perhaps it was immature, but these were his friends. It had taken him a long time to make them, and he didn’t want some outsider butting his nose in and ruining the dynamic.

“Adrien?” Marrinette had suddenly sat down next to him. “Are you okay? You’re really quiet.”

“Y-yeah,” the blonde nodded quickly, suddenly aware of her arm brushing against his. “I just realised I forgot to do my history homework.”

“Oh!” she blinked at him, chewing her lip. “I can let you see mine, if you want? It’s probably not very good, but it might help?”

Suddenly, all his bad feeling dissolved, like a storm being swallowed by the sea. He smiled softly at her. “That would be great.”

“Looks like we have company, chaton,” Ladybug smirked, as the purified akuma fluttered into the night sky, like a drop of the moon.

A figure slunk in the shadows, and Chat Noir immediately hissed, his senses on red alert. Ladybug rested a hand on his arm, and he sucked in a breath, embarrassed at losing control so quickly like that.

“Come out, then,” the heroine called, idly twirling her yo-yo around her wrist. “Or don’t you want to play with us?”

There was movement, then, and the stranger jumped from the basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, where their fight had just ended. The white domed roofs had been restored, and it seemed their new enemy had been watching from above.

“I certainly do want to play, my dear Ladybug,” the voice said, huskily. The heroine blinked, and Chat snarled, immediately standing in front of her, baton pointed.

“Who are you?” the black cat demanded.

There was a throaty laugh, deep and echoing around the silent church grounds.

“Call me Bloodhound,” the boy said, as he finally inched into the light. “Though, Ladybug may call me whatever she likes…”

His suit was black, like Chat’s, but made of a soft, suede material, rather than leather. The sides were deep brown, and he wore knee high boots of the same colour. His long, floppy ears were almost comical, but his black, glittering eyes were threatening behind his tawny mask.

“It had to be a dog,” Chat groaned, stabbing his baton into the ground. “Great.”

Ladybug coughed delicately into her palm. Bloodhound certainly didn’t look like much of a threat, but they’d made that mistake with akumatised victims before (she still shuddered when she thought how close Manon had been to stealing her miraculous).

“So, what’s the script, puppy?” Chat asked, taking a step forward. “Someone stole your bone? You didn’t get to go walkies?”

Bloodhound curled back his lip, revealing impressive, sharp teeth.

“Shut up, cat. I’m not here to talk to someone that reeks of cheese.”

Chat spluttered, his grip tightening on his baton so hard his claws screeched against the steel.

“Chaton,” Ladybug put a hand on his shoulder. “Let me handle this one.”

“Oh, please do,” Bloodhound grinned, opening his arms.

“My Lady,” Chat choked, but she had already darted forwards. She flung her yo-yo, planning to ensnare him, but he tumbled away from her reach. His long ears flopped with his movement, and she chuckled.

“If you stay still, I’ll give you a treat,” Ladybug promised. She couldn’t see where his akuma was: he didn’t have a collar, and there didn’t seem to be any pockets to his suit.

“Promise?” Bloodhound quipped, bounding over to her in a ridiculously doggish manner.

“Buginette, be careful!” Chat cried, but it was too late. The brown dog widened his mouth in a grin before attempting to clamp down on her ear.

“BAD DOG!” Ladybug yelled, diving underneath his parted legs, wrapping her yo-yo around his ankle and pulling him down to the ground. Chat was instantly by her side, helping her up and checking her face anxiously.

“Are you okay?” he asked, ignoring the growling from below them.

“Fine!” Ladybug said, red with embarrassment that she had let her guard down. “Now, where is the akuma?”

They both observed Bloodhood, currently tangled in the yoyo’s wires. He bared his teeth and barked at them, and Chat yowled back in response, claws extended.

“Mon Dieu!” Ladybug said. She walked around the brown dog, turning him over with her foot, but there was nothing save his suit.

“You won’t find it,” Bloodhound growled. He tapped his head. “It’s in here. I willingly became Papillon’s tool.”

“What?” Ladybug gasped. “That’s—that’s ridiculous! I can always cleanse the akuma! It must be under your suit. I’m going to take it off, somehow!”

“My Lady!” Chat coughed, grabbing her wrists before she could do any such thing. “I think he’s telling the truth. There’s something different about him. More…bad than the others.”

“You’re one to talk, Chat Noir,” Bloodhound spat. “You’re the epitome of bad luck!”

The hero quivered at the comment, but Ladybug chucked her partner under the chin, snapping him out of it.

“And I’m Lady Luck,” she said, leaning closer to their enemy. “So we balance out. Now, why did Papillon send you here?”

But they never received their answer. Suddenly Bloodhound was growling and writhing, and his muscles seemed to bunch underneath him.

“Buginette!” Chat immediately tugged her back, just as the dog snapped the yoyo’s strings with his strength.

“I’m stronger than both of you,” Bloodhound grinned, raising his nose in the air. “And now I have your scent, there’s no escaping me. I’ll track you both down, when you least expect it, and destroy you.”

Summary: Mike and Eleven have a movie night…that ends on an unexpected note.

“You two behave yourselves now,” Dustin razzed as he clattered up the stairs from Mike’s basement with the other boys.

“Yeah, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Lucas gleefully joined in, only a few steps behind him on the stairs.

“Shut up, Lucas,” Mike threw back, blushing in spite of himself.

The other boys laughed hilariously.

“See ya later, Mike.” Will was bringing up the rear, and merely grinned without adding a comment. “Bye, El!”

“Bye,” she called back from the couch as she and Mike returned his wave.

Bye, El,” Lucas and Dustin chimed on their way out the door, drawling her name and making exaggerated kissy noises before giggling together madly.

Mike shook his head and met her eyes sheepishly as he went to go join her on the couch. She was sitting with her back against the armrest, a magazine splayed open across her upraised knees, and she returned his gaze with a corner of her lips turned up, unsure whether to be exasperated or amused at their friends.

“Sorry that took so long. I really didn’t think that campaign would last that long,” he apologized, sitting next to her feet, and turning sideways on the cushion to face her. “Were you totally bored?”

A Minor Deception

When they got in the car, Caitlin turned to her and said, “Okay, why did your dad seem to think this was just a girl’s night out?”

Iris’s eyes widened innocently. “I may have slightly misled him a little tiny bit.”

“By telling him you were just hanging out with girls?”

“Yep, that’s pretty much it. Come on! My dad has this stupid no dating until I’m sixteen rule. How else am I supposed to, you know - ”

“Bat your lashes at Barry Allen?”

“Okay, fine, yes.”

“You’re a devious, underhanded, sneaky woman,” Caitlin muttered, starting up the car. “I’m going to get arrested because of you.”

Roller Coaster

You know what, I’m gonna do this more. I like it. Enjoy

Cas stared back defiantly at his friends. They glared right back, knowing they would win. “I’m going to hate it and then I’m going to throw up all over you.” Cas held his glare.

“No you’re not!” Gabe laughed. He could really be annoying sometimes. “Come on Cas! Live a little.

“I prefer to actually be alive, Gabriel.

They were in line for the biggest roller coaster Cas had ever seen in his whole life, the biggest one in the amusement park. Cas was glaring down Gabriel, Anna, Chuck, and Becky, the friends he had (which he now regretted) elected to spend the day with on this trip. And they were all staring at him expectantly, wanting him to join them on the coaster.

He really didn’t want to. He hated heights and thrills and roller coasters. Everything about them. The stubbornness masked the roiling fear he was feeling. He was deathly afraid of roller coaster. But it was too late, and his friends weren’t going to let him out of this. He wasn’t inviting them to his funeral, he decided, as the person managing the lines directed their party to rows one two and three.

Cas sighed. “I’ll do it, but I am going to hate you all forever afterwards, if I survive.” He glared still, standing alone in row three.

“Come on, it will be fine. This ride is awesome.” An unfamiliar voice spoke behind Castiel, and he turned to face it. A grinning boy stood behind him, he had kind green eyes and a smattering of freckles beneath a head of carefully done dark blond hair. Castiel would be freaking out over how this guy was if he wasn’t so freaked out about the upcoming ride.

“I’ve ridden it twice today already. It’s awesome,” the grinning boy repeated.

Castiel stared back, momentarily having lost his glare. “You’re crazy.” He mumbled.

The boy laughed. “You could call me that. Or you could call me Dean.” He held out a hand, which Castiel took and shook, finding himself answering. “Cas.”

His preoccupation with the roller coaster was soon turning into one with this boy, who looked to be the same age as Castiel, or thereabouts. He was still a bit in shock from the encounter, and found himself staring at the boy, watching the sun behind him shine through his hair and bounce of his lightly tanned skin.

This guy was- he hesitated to use the word beautiful- but what else could he call him?

Goddamned attractive, that’s what. And on top of that, he was standing here smiling at Cas, a fondness already growing in his eyes. Cas felt himself melting under the gaze, and struggled to pull himself together.

That was when the car for the coaster pulled up, and gorgeous boy was momentarily forgotten in panic. It was there, and Cas began to breath heavily. The other passengers climbed out, and the voice prompted the riders to take their seats. But Cas couldn’t move.

He felt a light pressure on the small of his back, and he looked back to see Dean behind him still, watching expectantly. Oh God, he was riding next to Cas. Taking deeper breaths, Cas allowed himself to be propelled forward, and climbed into the car, nearly tripping on the way in. he watched Dean settle in next to him and pull their lap bar down. He glanced at Cas, who felt his face flush. Dammit

He have looked petrified, because Dean reached out and pushed Cas lightly on the shoulder, saying, “It’ll be fun, you’ll see.”

Cas was very torn about being scared as hell for the several drops and loops to come, and freaking out because Dean had touched him, he imagined he could still feel Dean’s fingers in his arm. He hadn’t really come to a decision, just said nothing and clung to the lap bar as the car was inspected to get ready to go.

The car lurched forward, along with Cas’s stomach, and he hoped very much that he wouldn’t throw up on Dean. That would make such a terrible first impression. The thought almost made him laugh. Almost.

Cas squeezed his eyes shut as they limbed the first hill, slowly. He heard a chuckle beside him, and angrily cracked one eyelid to glare at Dean. “You shut up.” That was meaner than he intended, but Dean didn’t seem to mind.

“It’s not that bad, really. I promise.”

“Yeah right.” Cas mumbled. “I really hate roller coasters.”

“What? Don’t you trust me?” He looked over to see Dean grinning at him mischievously.

But there was not answer, as they had reached the top, and started to tilt down.

“Oh shit!” Cas gasped as they plummeted over the edge.

His yell of terror mixed with Dean’s whoop of joy as they spun around the first curve. He had slammed his eyes shut as they first fell, but now he heard a voice yell into his ear, “It’s worse if your eyes are closed.”

“No!” he yelled, but opened his eyes to find Dean looking at him, well as best he could on the twisting roller coaster.

As they went through the first loop, he felt a pressure squeeze his hand and looked down to see Dean’s hand being strangled by his own hand. He must have grabbed it in his panic. But he really didn’t think about it, as he was whipped around on more turns. And he didn’t let go.

But maybe this wasn’t so bad after all. He heard Dean’s thrilled laughter beside him, and he began to smile too, letting the fear and exhilaration wash through him in a way that was altogether not unpleasant. His stomach was doing flip flops now not because of the ride, but more due to Dean. Maybe the thrill was just him being distracted. But either way, he didn’t care. It really was awesome.

Eventually, there was the flash of the ride camera, and soon the ride jolted to a stop back at the station. Cas found himself sitting there, panting slightly, and still holding onto Dean’s hand.

Dean looked at them, and laughed a little. “You can let go now, you know.”

Perhaps it was the adrenaline rush that gave Cas the confidence to smirk and say, “do I have to?”

Dean’s mouth opened in surprise, and Cas wondered if he had gone too far, he began to regret it, but then Dean’s face slid back into a smile, and he tugged Cas to his feet and out of the ride.

“Not really.”

Cas allowed himself to be pulled along, his head was still spinning, although that may have just been the influence of Dean, and he was smiling as he met his friends.

“You should see your hair Cas!” Chuck laughed.

“Speak for yourself!” Cas responded. Grumbling, but unable to keep the smile from his face for long.

“So was it that bad Cassie?” Beck grinned. No one seemed to notice Dean yet, still attached to Castiel’s hand.

Cas thought for a moment. “It was awesome.” He squeezed Dean’s hand, and Dean laughed at the obvious repetition of his former words.

Well now they noticed him.

“Who are you?” Gabe asked, curiously, not offensively, eyeballing their intertwined hands.

“Dean!” was the only answer they got from him before Cas was leading them all forward, dragging Dean behind him.

“Let’s go ride dome more!” Cas said excitedly. His friends followed, wonder at Cas’s new behavior, and at Dean.

Cas stopped all of a sudden, embarrassed. “You want to come with us?” he asked Dean shyly. “I didn’t mean to just kidnap you.”

They both laughed before Dean answered. “No it’s fine, I like hanging with you Cas.”

His stomach did a flip at this, and his heart warmed. “Cool.”

So they spent the rest of the day with Dean. Well, Cas did. He didn’t really share him. The pair was largely ignoring of and ignored by the rest of the group.

Cas found, to his great amazement, that Dean was from the same town as him, and that they were both here on school trips. Dean had ditched his group a while back, so had no problems joining Cas. And Cas didn’t mind that one little bit. And Cas never really let go of Dean’s hand. It just felt… right.

When the end of the day came, the sky having long ago turned black, Dean had to leave to meet up with his class and go home. That’s when Cas had finally let his hand go. He felt sadder than he thought he should at seeing Dean leave.

Dean handed him something. It was a piece of paper with a number on it. Cas blushed and smiled up at Dean.

“Call me when you get home,” Dean winked, “I would like to see you again.”

Cas grinned, infinitely happy. “So would I, you, I uh, count on a call, I mean.”

“Good,” replied Dean, then proceeded to leave a quick, sweet kiss on Cas’s lips, leaving the slightly smaller boy staring after him until he was lost to the crowd. But before he did, Dean turned and waved at Cas, who was able to revive himself from his mental stupor in time to return the grin. Then Dean was gone, and Cas felt all too alone.

He shook off the feeling and grasped the paper tightly. The lonely would not stick around, he was pretty sure. As he stood, warmth in his heart and the silliest grin on his face, he thought about it, and he knew he would be seeing quite a lot of Dean. He couldn’t wait to get home.

Series: Fairy Tail.
Pairing: NaLu.
Prequel: Fairy Heart.

Summary: Six years after their final battle, Lucy’s crystal slumber comes to an unexpected end.

;My hands, they only agree to hold your hands and they don’t wanna be without your hands. And they will not let me go, no they will not let me go.

Fairy Tail had undergone more than its fair share of renovations over the past six years, each made to benefit the crystal beauty lying beneath the guild hall. Over time, Lucy’s crystal had been raised above the ground. With a great deal of care and an immense amount of patience, Natsu had seen to it that Lucy was placed under the stars – where she belonged. Her crystal now stood on a balcony on the highest floor of the guild. Stone pillars stood along the precipice, each doing its part to support the glass dome overhead.

The moon’s caress illuminated the crystalline figure beneath. It sparkled like the stars overhead. Within it, Lucy’s form watched over the guild. Over time, the rest of Fairy Tail’s members had decorated the balcony with Lucy’s belongings. Many of her books lined the shelves Elfman and the others had built. Each of her keys hung from a pillar by a strand of ribbon – the ribbons she’d often used in her hair.

The entire room smelled like Lucy.

Natsu adjusted the books on one of the shelves in order to make room for his newest purchases. He’d taken it upon himself to complete all of her unfinished collections. It’s what she would want, he figured. He’d read them to her a number of times. It helped – reading to her. Speaking to her. He knew deep down she could hear him. He knew she was still in there.

“What shall we read her today?” he asked Happy, who floated overhead, eyeing the books on the top shelves.

“Aren’t there any pictures books?” he asked hopefully.

Natsu let out a laugh. “I think so. Last night I found a book on fairies. Lucy sure did love our guild, huh?”

“Aye!” Happy agreed.

“In that case,” Natsu fingered the spines of freshly dusted books and travelled the shelf until he found what he was looking for, “This book might be the best. It has pictures of fairies with tails. Remember those, Happy?”

Happy sank to inspect the cover of the thick tome in Natsu’s hands. “Are you sure we’ve read this one before? You’re getting forgetful in your old age, Natsu.”

Natsu swatted his companion. “Hey! I’m not that old.”

Okay. Maybe that wasn’t true. But he didn’t feel that old. Holding his breath, Natsu flicked through the pages and stopped at a picture of a crystal structure. Inside was a trapped fairy. She looked to be banging on the walls of her prison in fear. The book fell from Natsu’s hand.

“Natsu, are you okay?”

As he knelt to retrieve the book, Natsu was overcome by a blinding light. It swallowed the balcony in its entirety, filling him to the brink with an incredible warmth. It was so bright. The light seemed to drag forth every inch of happiness he’d felt in his lifetime. Tears spilled onto his cheeks.

As the light dissipated, Natsu bent for the book once again. A second hand beat him to it. When he glanced up, Lucy was standing before him – naked. Overcome by a mix of embarrassment and unbelievable shock, Natsu tossed the book from her hands and threw himself into her arms. She held him tenderly, with the kind of love he’d expect from Lucy Heartfilia.

“Is this real?” he whispered.

Her hair seemed to have grown over the past six years. He lost his hands in the blonde waves.

“I think so,” she replied. “Or maybe I’m still dreaming. While I was asleep, I could hear all of you talking to me. This is the first time I’ve been able to reach out to you, though.”

"This isn’t a dream. It can’t be a dream,” Natsu pleaded. “I won’t let go of you again. I won’t!”

Lucy’s laughter gave his heart a new lease of life. “You’ve grown, Natsu.”

Pulling out of her embrace, Natsu set his hands on her shoulders and lost himself to the brilliance of her eyes.

“How is this possible?” he asked. “How are you–”

“Natsu,” Lucy interrupted.

“Just, please, shut up and kiss me.”

Natsu’s face heated. “W-what?”

“She likes you,” Happy said in a tearful voice.

“Me too,” Natsu said in a whisper. “I like her too.”

And then he took her into his arms where he kissed her for the very first time. The light of her life, of her love, had touched so many people. And it would continue to do so for many years to come.

“Natsu, what was that–” Gray’s voice caught in his throat as he emerged from the doorway. He laid eyes on Lucy, his cheeks red as he took in her appearance.

“Lucy!” Erza stumbled along behind him, followed by the rest of their guild. Each of them stood in the doorway, gaping at the sight of their naked saviour, returned to them anew. Lucy gave a tearful smile.

Mirajane emerged from the crowd and dropped to her knees in shock. A sense of nostalgia touched Natsu’s heart.

“Welcome home,” she sobbed into her hands, “Lucy.”

Lucy placed a comforting hand on Mira’s head. Their friends surrounded her. Erza dealt punches left and right, warning them off the naked blonde. Natsu stood in awe as she slipped back into place. The missing piece of their puzzle had been found.

“I’m home.”

Desc: Pan’s time left in the enchanted hourglass is running short, but he’s been too afraid to confront you and steal your heart to revive his strength. Because of his devotion to Pan, Felix takes it into his own hands to bring your end, for fear that he will lose his master. Neither you nor Felix have come to realize that Pan has locked away feelings that he holds for you.

“Where are we?” you questioned.

Felix led you up a narrow path, his weapon slung lazily across his right shoulder. You trod against a cold flat stone, and you could hear the sounds of the crashing ocean at your ears. The moist rock beneath you slid under your toes, and you gripped the rough walls for support.

“Peter wanted me to show you something,” Felix drawled as he led the way.

“Oh yeah?” you said, “So why doesn’t he show me himself?”

Felix’s momentarily went stiff, and he stopped in his tracks. You waited for him to answer, but he only said,

“We’re here.”

He took a turn left, where he led you into a vast dome shaped cavern. Torches were strung against the walls, their flames dancing against the black of the night seeping in through the carved out slabs of stone. But your eyes were far from this, because they’d fallen on a most intricate and large hourglass. It was smooth and crystal-like glass, where inside a million golden flecks of sand sparkled in a glowing blurry haze. You found yourself drawn to it, and you placed your palm again the cool surface of the hourglass.

“Felix,” you breathed. “What is this?”

Felix paced around the hourglass, his eyes glued hungrily to you.

“It’s the determining factor of what holds all that is good on this island together.”

You brought your eyes to his, eyebrows lifting curiously. You had never like Felix, he was sick and secretive, and perhaps as bad as Pan himself. Your heart fluttered momentarily, and your fingers tensed. ‘I hate Peter,’ your thoughts reassured you. Or, they tried to, because deep down inside your feelings stirred for Peter, and you hated to admit it to yourself.

“What does it do?” you asked, trying to leech answers out of him.

Felix sighed and gripped his axe.

“Notice how the time is about to run out,” he said, ignoring your question impatiently. “When that hourglass looses its last bead of sand, he will crumble.”

An icy chill ran through your spine, and you chewed your lower lip nervously, you could only guess who ‘he’ was.

Felix drew closer, approaching you slowly. His ugly scar glinted in the light, and his mouth twisted into a grin.

“You are the only thing that can save us,” he said, releasing a raspy breath.

“S-save-I-uh,” your words caught in your throat, and you backed away nervously.

Felix lurched forward, nipping you easily in his strong hands.

“The heart of the truest believer is the key. Now, give me your heart, or I swear I’ll carve it out myself,” he growled.

You froze.

“If I don’t…he’ll die?” your words came soft and scared.

Felix raised a brow, “How sweet, now don’t tell me you’ve come to care for him?”

You flicked your eyes across Felix’s scarred face, anger flaring in your chest as you sent a kick flying to his stomach. He stumbled back, a scream of protest coming from his mouth. You slid against the wet ground, and scrambled for an exit, flying around the corner with a frantic pace. You skidded across the splattered droplets of sea water on the floor, causing you to go flying hard into the ground. Stars flew around your head, and your hands flew to your achy skull. Even through your blurred vision you saw him coming.

He chuckled malevolently and swung his axe forward, swooping in one low arc towards your crumbled and broken form.

You waited for the pain to come, ready for death to arrive, but it didn’t.

Cautiously, your squeezed eyelids released and opened.

“Peter,” you whispered.

He stood in front of you, his skin paler than ever, blocking the path between yourself and Felix. Something about him gave him a much weaker and feeble stature. His hands were raised to Felix, agony printed across his face.

Felix’s wide eyes narrowed into slits, shock and distaste clear when he spoke, “You don’t know what’s good for you Pan. Let me help.”

Peter grimaced.

“Why have you become this, you’re not this pathetic coward, too afraid to do what is right after you’ve been hunting for her heart all this time,” Felix said, his voice quickly rising.

“You wouldn’t understand,” Pan said coldly.

Felix waved his axe threateningly.

“If you won’t, I will,” he barked.

And with that, the blunt side of his axe sent Peter flying into the cave wall, where he slid down like a rag doll. Felix came at you, ravenous and animal -like when he thrust his hand deep inside your chest, and extracted your pulsing heart. You groaned in agony, and each ounce of energy you had left began to drain. Peter moaned in pain, a deep gash spread across his forehead. He was too weak, but you managed to stumble over behind Felix and collapse at Peter’s feet. Your sight began to turn black and foggy.

“No. No…(Y/N)..” you heard Peter plead, but his voice was far off and distant. Then he looked up, moving his attention from you. “Felix…Don’t.”

Felix smiled, “Pan never fails.”

He bent forward, and plunged your heart into Pan’s chest with one swift movement.

Pan gasped with the shock,  burning power radiated from his body, and his skin glowed with youth.

Felix panted heavily, rejoicing in his own success.

“How are you feeling now?” Felix grinned.

There was a silence in which Pan’s mouth hung open, his body shaking with new found energy.

“Better than ever,” you heard him say.

And then you blacked out.

When you awoke it was clear that something was horribly wrong. The sand in the hourglass was vanishing even more rapidly then before, and Felix lay unconscious on the stone. Peter was bent over your body, weak and frail. It took you a moment to realize what had happened; Peter had lied, your heart had failed him. You didn’t have the heart of the truest believer, and Pan was going to die.

“No,” you said, your hand feeling for your chest, where sure enough a heart beat inside from where he’d returned it.

“Let me help,” you pleaded, “Please.”

Peter smiled sadly, his hand on your cheek.

“I’m so sorry I never told you before. Sorry that I could ever tell you how deeply and truly in love with you I am, more than you will ever get to know.”

Droplets formed at your eyes, and you mumbled his name softly.

Peter’s smile faltered, and he collapsed on the ground, his body going stiff.

You leaped up in shock, there were barely any remaining sand droplets, not nearly enough time to save him. You cradled his head in your lap, sobbing into his cold chest. After all of his suffering, you almost wished your heart was the one he seeked, and you wished you could hand it to him, let him have another chance. The heart of the truest believer was never yours to begin with, and who knew where it was…

Suddenly you froze.

Your eyes fell to the ground where Felix lay, and you silently stared at him. The answer stirred within your chest, pushing you to do what you needed to. Without thinking twice, you sat bolt upright, blocking your vision as you reached into Felix’s chest and yanked out his heart. You turned quickly, falling by Peter’s side again, and as the last droplet of hope fell, you pushed the heart into his body.

The silence that followed was excruciatingly painful.
But without warning -

“Peter!” you exclaimed, and he opened his mouth in shock, giving you the opportunity to press your lips roughly against his. He responded quickly, and his hands slithered across your sides and brought your bodies tight to each other.

“(Y/N),” he murmured with confusion, “How?”

You smiled, dimples forming at your rosy cheeks.

“You made me believe in you Peter, but the heart of the truest believer lay with the person most faithful to you from the beginning, someone who always put faith in you, even though you never saw it all this time…Felix.”

Pan glanced across the floor, his eyes sad and understanding.

“I’m sorry I let him-” began Pan.

“We can make up for it,” you said, running your fingers through his messy hair.

You brought your lips to his forehead and pecked him all over.

Peter grinned against your skin, “We will,” he agreed, “and I will love you for all of eternity.”

You chuckled and pulled back.

Saved - A Fairy Tail Fanfic

Hello ^^

Here’s another fic, I hope you’ll enjoy it ^^

Natsu was awakened as END and was about to kill Zeref who was near Fairy Heart, after he failed to defeat him as himself and not as a monster.

He raised his right hand, surrouned by a black fire.

There was no fear in Zeref’s eyes, he had waited for centuries for that moment after all.

He even seemed to smile.

Mavis was looking at the scene, sadness in her eyes for the man she loved.

Gray couldn’t believe what he saw, that his friend was the monster he wanted to destroy.

He tried to call him, not wanting to kill him until he was sure he didn’t have another choice.

But it was a female’s voice who started to echoe in END’s mind.

-Natsu ! Natsu, snap out of it ! You’re not the kind to do that ! You’re not a monster ! Cried Lucy, running toward him and hugging him.

-Lucy ? Lucy, don’t ! I don’t want to hurt you ! Screamed Natsu, trapped in the darkness of his mind and unable to control his own body.

She emitted a soft white glow who didn’t seem to affect the demon at first, but his dark flames vanished and he screamed in pain while the darkness surrounding Natsu disappeared.

He violently pushed her back, in pain because of her purifying magic and surrounded himself with his black fire, to prevent anyone to approach him while the others members of the guild came to check on Lucy, who luckily, wasn’t badly hurt, she just got a few bruises.

The glow surrounding her body had vanished too.

But that help was enough for Natsu to finally get a complete control of his etherious side who had the form of a black fire in his mind.

He absorbed it like he usually absorbed fire in reality, becoming one again, like when he was brought back by Zeref.

The process was painful, because both side had been separated for too long.

But once it was over, his screams ended, leaving place to silence, worrying his friends.

Because the two pieces of the same person were now one like before, that’s how his memories of his previous life got unlocked since even END didn’t have his memories, only the orders engraved in him by Zeref.

To unlock the memories, the two faces of the same person had to be one again.

He remembered his short childhood with his older brother, the happy times they had and Zeref’s tears when he closed his eyes.

After that, he slowly gained consciousness in an egg-shapped crystal, thinking he may have been sleeping, when he heard the voice of a young man who was looking at him.

A voice full of love and sadness, telling him that he was his brother Zeref.

He remembered what he did as END.

Then a blank.

He woke up, a big and red dragon at his side, no memories, and no idea of how he ended up with Igneel who raised him.

Natsu then remembered what Mavis said : that curse of contradiction inflicted by Ankhseram kill the more you love and don’t work the more you hate.

He then understood : his brother had entrusted him to Igneel so he wouldn’t hurt him because of the curse.

The black flames turned to the usual orange hue and vanished.

-She did it, he’s back to normal ! Thought Mavis, and the members of Fairy Tail, when they saw him back to his usual self, on his knees, his head down and his eyes hidden by his hairs.

The black wizard was surprised by what he just saw, he would have never guessed that someone could get to END this way, making his brother turning back to normal.

He materialized a black ball of energy, anticipating the next attack.

But he wasn’t prepared for that.

When Natsu opened his eyes again, there were tears, but it’s what he said that was more surprising.

-Nii…san ? He asked, looking at his brother.

His friends were surprised and Mavis too, she knew he had a brother because he told her, but she never imagined it was Natsu.

But no one was as surprised as Zeref, whose ball of energy disappeared under his shock.

In his hopeful days, he had imagined himself and Natsu together and happy, catching up because of the lost time, but every time, he quickly rejected these thought, so the curse wouldn’t activate and decimate his surrounding again.

He didn’t felt such happiness in a long time, since Mavis disappearance, but the curse didn’t lose time to remind him the she was still here, by making his head ache.

Under the pain, he feel on his knees, his head in his hands.

-Natsu… Kill me ! Before my curse activate ! He begged in tears. No… I will destroy you, and it will be your friends’turn next ! His eyes turned red and his voice menacing. He was contradicting himself again because of the effect of the curse and in a desperate attempt to not activate it.

But Natsu didn’t listen, he stood up and asked his friends to fall back by precaution, so they wouldn’t be hurt, and they listened him.

He then walked to his brother and hugged him.

-Let me go ! I don’t want you to die again, and this time, it will by my fault ! Said Zeref, trying to free himself from his brothers arms, his eyes becoming black again.

But the pinket tightened his grip.

-I won’t. You’re my dear brother. I won’t lose you like I lose Igneel. The First Master told us that you’re both cursed, and I remember that it’s you who brought me back to life. I know you got cursed because of that. So let that curse out, I’ll burn it, nothing will be left of it, and I’ll even save Mavis. You want to see her again, right ? He questionned, a little grin on his lips.

-What ?! You know I kill everything alive when the curse is active ! Seeing Mavis again ? I can’t, not after everything I did ! And how do you know about us ? He asked, sceptical, and still trying to control the curse.

-She told us when she explained what was Lumen Histoire. Or Fairy Heart. Whatever the name… Anwsered the young man. She’s even here, crying for you because she can’t help you in her ghost form. She’s even next to the Crystal protecting her body.

He was right, Mavis had cried when he fell on his knees and asked Natsu to help him, since she couldn’t and it was the first time she was that angry at her powerless state.

-I knew I felt her presence, but I doubted my feeling, why would she still be near me, I’m a monster after all.

-No, you’re not. The monster is the one responsible of your state. It’s the curse who turned you that way, idiot. I remember well the kind brother you were and know you haven’t changed. So, If you trust me, let that curse go loose, so I’ll destroy it. I’ll also destroy Mavis’curse too. That’s why I said to my friend to get away and the scarf Igneel gave me will protect me like it did on Tenrou. Said Natsu.

-All right. Accepted Zeref. He finally gave in his happiness to see his brother again and to the hope to see the girl he loved again, smiling and hugging back his brother.

He let out a painful scream when the curse manifested but Natsu, who, thanks to his draconic reflex immediatly unleashed his flames, surrounding them like a dome and burning the black wave, while the dragon slayer’s scarf turned black again, absorbing the curse.

Because the Black Mage finally let out all his emotions, the curse was stronger than ever, but Natsu’s flames were inherited from Igneel and could destroy all evil, even curses and the black wave was finally destroyed, but not the core, more resistant than it seemed and the blazing dome vanished.

-I’ve only destroyed the wave, it cost me a lot of energy and the core is still in you, I can feel it, meaning that it will regenerate if we do nothing. So I won’t be able to do it alone. Said Natsu, his hand on Zeref’s shoulders and his scarf turning back to white.

-All right. Sighed Zeref his head down, thinking it was for nothing.

-Don’t worry. I promise you will be free. You have my words. Reassured the pinket.

-Yeah. Responded Zeref, the ghost of a smile on his lips.

-Lucy ! Come, I’ll need your help ! We have curses to break ! He told to the blonde girl. And don’t be affraid, he won’t hurt you. He added.

-Be cautious Lucy, said a blue haired young girl, worried.

-Yes, don’t worry Wendy. Are you sure of what you’re saying ? Approaching little by little, feeling uneasy because her instinct told her the danger was still here.

-Yes ! We will do an Unison Raid with my fire and your purifying magic.

-I don’t have purifying magic. Regretted the Celestial Mage.

-You have it. The white glow you emitted was the purifying magic I’m talking about and it helped me to be back to myself. Affirmed the Dragon Slayer.

Mavis approved because he was right and Zeref thought that purifying hability was something rare and powerful.

He also noticed that his brother seemed to care a lot for the young woman, making him smile.

-Why are you smiling nii-san ? Asked Nastu, noticing it.

-Oh, for nothing, but how do you plan to break the curse with an unison raid ?

-That’s a good question. Added Lucy, sceptical.

-That’s easy, we will break the two curse at the same time by having at least one of your hands on the Crystal protecting the First Master while our other hand will be connected to perform the spell.

-And that’s what you call easy ? Sighed Lucy.

-Yes, because we know each other well enough and are good friends, so it will be easier. Grinned Natsu, sure of himself.

-It’s true. Smiled Lucy in return, realizing he was right.

-Its worth the try. Said Zeref, hopeful.

The others members of Fairy Tail who had heard their conversation erected a protective barrier, just in case.

Zeref then put his two hands on the Crystal, next to him was Natsu who had his left hand on the object and held Lucy’s left hand while her other hand was on the transparent stone.

Mavis took place next to Zeref and put her hands on the Crystal too, so that her spirit could immediately go back to her body once the curse was broken.

Because it was the curse that prenvented her to do so, since she was just in a comatose state.

-Are you ready guys ? Asked Natsu.

An unanimous “yes” was the answer and the quatuor closed their eyes, concentrating.

Fire stared to surround Natsu and Lucy was emitting again her white light.

The two magic then became one : a bright white fire was around the couple.

Zeref and Mavis radiated a black glow, the color of the curse, starting to react to the purifying white flames.

-Celestial Fire Dragon’s Flames ! Shouted in unison Natsu and Lucy, opening their eyes who were totally white and glowing.

The white fire then engulfed the Crystal, Zeref and both of Mavis body and ethereal form.

It went in the heart of the cursed pair, because it was where was the core, a black and solid ball who spread its roots in the whole body of the victims.

More concentrated than ever, the Dragon Slayer and the Celestial Mage put all their effort into destroying the curse, not leaving a trace or a shadow of it.

The process was painful for Zeref and Mavis because the curse was well rooted in them but Natsu and Lucy suceeded and broke the curse.

The flames and glow vanished, the stone shattered and disappeared and the young girl’s body fell into the ground.

Zeref, Natsu and Lucy fainted because of the tremendous effort they all put to the task, but Mavis ethereal form disappeared and went back in her original body.

The members of the guild dissipated the protective shield they erected and approched the unconscious bodies.

-What are we going to do now about Zeref ? And Nastu may also be a danger because of his etherious side, no ? Asked Gray, worried about his pink haired friend and the Black Wizard.

-If we turn Zeref to the authorities, he’ll be surely sentenced to death, as for Natsu, they’ll probably lock him up until he die. Supposed Erza.

-What ?! It’s horrible, we can’t let something like that happen ! Said Wendy with a sad voice.

-Don’t worry, I never said we’ll give them to the authorities, besides, Natsu will never forgive us if something had to happen to the brother he just reunited with. Smiled the red haired woman.

-That’s true. So we take him to our guild too I guess. Said the Ice Mage, scratching his head.

-Yes, at least, we will have our eyes on him until we’re sure he’s not dangerous anymore. Approved Makarof.

Three days later…

Zeref woke up in what seemed to be an infirmary.

-Huh ? What’s that place ? I thought aloud, sitting in his bed.

He was wearing a white pajama and had bandages at his arms and his head.

-It’s our guild’s infirmary. I’m glad to see you’re awake too. Answered a male voice at his right.

The black haired man turned his head in the direction of the voice and saw Natsu, lying in his bed, his arms crossed under his head, smiling at him.

-Natsu, how are you feeling ? Are the others fine ? And how much time passed since that day ? And you mean we’re in Fairy Tail ? Asked his older brother.

-I’m fine and the others too, thank you. And yeah, we’re in Fairy Tail. Grinned the young man. And you ? Are you okay ? Wendy told me it’s been three day. I woke up two hours ago, and when I asked her about Lucy, she told me she left the infirmary this morning.

He too was wearing the same pajama and had bandages on his wounds.

-That’s good then. I’m fine too. Sighed with relief the ancient Black Mage. But what about Mavis ? He added suddenly.

-Oh yeah, sorry, I’m still a bit in the clouds. Well, Porlyusica and Wendy said she’s fine, but they seemed to find a bit strange that she still didn’t woke up since her body isn’t hurt. She’s on the bed next to yours, behind the curtain. Answered the pink haired boy.

Worried by Natsu’s words, Zeref went behind the curtain to check Mavis’condition by himself.

Mavis was wearing a white nightgown and the blanket kept her warm.

The brunet was relieved to hear her peaceful breath and seated on the bed.

He touched her forehead like he did a long time ago to better see what was wrong with her actual condition.

She was fine physically, but he knew what he had to do to help her.

-Mavis, my love, please, wake up. He whispered with a sad voice.

He kissed her softly, his lips on hers.

He then waited anxiously, he had not forgotten what happened the first time he kissed her, but felt this time it would wake her up, instead of putting her in a comatose state.

After all, their curse was finally broken.

She finally opened her eyes, and saw a familiar figure seated at her side.

-Zeref ? Zeref !! She repeated again, smiling and hugging the young man like she did once a long time ago, tears in her eyes.

The Wizard was surprised but smiled and hugged her back.

-I’m sorry I couldn’t help you Zeref. She said with regret in her voice. I was so sad to see you fall even more in the darkness without being able to do anything. But now, everything’s okay, thanks to our friends.

-It’s not your fault Mavis. After all, it was because of me you ended up in a that state. It’s true, your guild is full of trully amazing peoples. He answered, smiling.

The blonde girl giggled.

-What if you joined our guild ? I’m sure Natsu would ask you the same thing. Proposed the Fairy Tactician.

-Seriously ?! But how the others will react ? Made a worried Zeref, still tempted by the idea.

-Don’t worry, only our guild know who you are and I’m sure with at least Natsu at your side, the others will warm up to you. And I’m here too. She added with a big smile. For the others, you already died long ago, so it won’t be a problem.

-She’s right. You’re not alone anymore. And I can tell you you will have fun in our guild. Made Natsu’s voice. We could tell he was smiling when telling that.

The young couple blushed, they had almost forgotten where they were.

-Natsu, it’s not good to listen to others peoples conversations. Sighed Zeref trough the curtain.

-I didn’t listen, both of you were talking loudly enough for me to hear. Retorded his little brother, giggling. So, will you join us ?

Natsu grinned at the answer.

Zeref didn’t hesitate and accepted, after all, with Natsu and Mavis at his side, thing could only get better and he felt Fairy Tail was the guild for him to start a new life with his loved ones to back him up if needed.

-That’s great ! Made Mavis, delighted. Welcome to Fairy Tail. She said, embracing Zeref.

-Thank you. Responded the brunet, embracing her too.

It’s been so long since he felt happiness, that tears appeared at the corners of his eyes when he smiled.

It was the same bright smile as his brother.

A few days later, Natsu finally got time to thank Lucy for her help when he was END and Zeref was officially a member of Fairy Tail.

The others members accepted him quickly enough and they appreciated the stories he told them about the erae he crossed.

Mavis herself became a simple member of the guild too, so she could have fun again after being sealed for so long.

By a beautiful sunny day, Lucy, accompanied by Mavis and going to the library of the guild with her where Levy and Mirajane waited for them to rearrange some of the shelves.

For Zeref, who always loved to read and study, it was one of his favorites places with the garden the guild had.

The girls saw the brothers in the garden who was in the back of the guild.

The young men were laughing.

They looked really happy and it made the young Celestial Mage smiling.

Mavis smiled too, she was happy that she and the man she loved were finally saved and free with a new chance in life.

Prompts for Pie 16: Shatterdomes and Spiders

((So, Gophersaurus requested, of all things, more of the Spiders and the repair crews from Through the Dark Tide of Memory.  It caught me off guard how much I realized I enjoyed the thought of returning to these people, but this time without the strain of telling Steve and Tony’s story specifically.  There were people and concepts who got left out and left behind due to space and time constraints.  So this prompt was especially welcome.  There will be more of this, but for the time being, let’s start here. 8) ))

Malibu Shatterdome was bigger than she’d ever expected.

Anya Corazon huddled into her threadbare coat, shivering under the layers of every piece of clothing that she owned. Her backpack was heavy on her shoulders, even as she crept forward. She’d expected gates and guard towers, she’d expected fences and physical barriers between her and safety. But there was next to nothing. Just a long, unguarded expanse of roads along the long, high cliffs.

All the efforts for protection, for holding back the darkness, was set towards the ocean far below, because that was where the darkness came from. The oceans, dark expanses now beneath the full moon, held untold evils now. There was nothing, no threat or evil, that the land could offer that would even come close to what the Kaiju could do.

But it left Anya with a problem that she hadn’t expected to have. She had no idea how to get in.

The massive walls of the Shatterdome rose, up into the night sky, massive, unbroken sheets of metal that towered over her like a medieval castle. There was a door there, a huge gate, closed tight now. She’d expected a guard or a doorbell or something. But there was nothing.

She took a few steps back, her head tilting back, squinting up at the lights that rimmed the metal walls, eight or nine stories above her head. Searchlights and the diffused glow of lesser lamps cast an almost palpable warmth, and she was so desperate that she considered going back to the door and knocking.

“You there.”

Unwanted House Guest Part 5 - A Good Cup Of Cocoa

The timer on the microwave had 10 seconds left. The steady hum as it heated the contents of the mug inside could be heard from the living room.

Arnick opened the microwave and took out the mug. Tetrox was in the living room sitting on the couch with the blanket they had just purchased today wrapped around her. Ever since the rain started, the temperature outside had dropped considerably. She could hear Arnick stirring something into the mug. A few seconds later, he walked out with the drink in one hand and a coaster in the other. “Here. Drink this. It ought to help you feel better,” he said as he set them down on the coffee table in front of her.

Arnick walked back to fix himself a drink as well while Tetrox looked at the ceramic mug with the warm drink inside. It smelled fantastic. She called out to Arnick, “What’s this?”

Arnick had already started the microwave up with another mug inside. “Hot cocoa. Just the thing for soothing frazzled nerves. Go ahead and give it a try.”

Tetrox picked up the mug with both hands. She looked at it for a bit before finally deciding to take a sip. Her eyes opened wide as the taste and flavor spread from her mouth, to her head, to her shoulders, to her arms, to her torso, and finally legs. She felt warm and calm. The cocoa wasn’t too hot but was somehow just the right temperature. “Oh wow… oh my goodness, Nicky this is delicious!”

“Glad you like it!” he called out from the kitchen. He then came out with a mug of cocoa of his own and sat down next to Tetrox. He took a sip of his mug and placed it on another coaster on the table. “I take it Hot Cocoa isn’t a common commodity in Octo Valley, is it?”

Tetrox shook her head, but with each sip, she felt her spirits lifting more and more. “No, but I wish we sure did! This stuff is great!”

Arnick smiled, “It’s amazing what a little milk and a packet of Swiss Minnow Miss can do for you. If you’d like more, I can make you another cup if you’d like.”

Tetrox smiled back and took another sip. Arnick looked out the window and saw the sky. It had gotten much darker now. The only light from outside were the street lamps and lights from the windows of buildings up and down the street. Those lights made the rain barely visible. It was still coming down pretty heavy, but was not nearly as bad as it was a little earlier. Arnick heard Tetrox breath a sigh of relief and satisfaction after another sip. It seemed like she was starting to become more at ease after that scare.

Arnick couldn’t help but notice the little smile on her face as she enjoyed her cocoa. He thought she looked adorable bundled up in her blanket there. Arnick blushed and immediately shook his head. “So, err…” Arnick cleared his throat, “…Tetrox I… I wanted to apologize again for not telling you about the storm earlier.”

“Aww it’s okay, Nicky. I forgive yah.”

“It’s just…” Arnick sighed, “…this day has not gone anything like how I imagined it would.”

Tetrox turned to him, “Oh yeah? How’d you think it was gonna go?”

Arnick leaned his head back on the couch and stared at the ceiling. “To be perfectly honest, I was expecting that I’d be in charge of monitoring some kind of… Octoling soldier or prisoner of war, actually. I expected an Octoling in shackles being escorted by two of our soldiers and then I’d be responsible for keeping guard over them as they were guided around Inkopolis by a government tour guide or something. I was not expecting, well, a house guest. Or for someone about the same age as me.”

Tetrox huffed, “Sorry to disappoint you there, Nicky,” but then she gave a wicked, teasing smile, “But maybe if you’re good, you can tie me up and put me in shackles later. If that’s what you want.”

Arnick blushed furiously at Tetrox’s more than obvious innuendo. “I’m being serious here, though.”

Tetrox smiled back, “I know, Nicky. I getcha.”

“But I feel terrible though. I was being a complete and total arse earlier to you and, well, you didn’t deserve that. Even if you’re a different species, it wasn’t until just a few minutes ago that… well… it really hit me that you’re…” Arnick sighed, “Oh Cod dammit, how do I say this?”

“A girl?” Tetrox responded, “Someone with feelings and emotions and not a hardened warrior?”

Arnick’s blush stayed right where it was, “Well… yes…”

Tetrox chuckled, “That’s alright. If we’re both being frank here, I’m actually pretty darn embarrassed of myself for getting so scared of a lil’ lightning. I should’ve expected something like that.”

Arnick shook his head, “Ridiculous. Anyone would have been scared in that situation.”

“Maybe if you’re an Inkling, darlin’, but us Octarian folk…” Tetrox leaned back and joined Arnick in looking at the ceiling, “we’re supposed ta be a lot tougher than that. Livin’ underground ain’t all that great, y'know? A girl’s gotta be tough to survive in the Octo Domes these days. I ain’t sure if it was always like it is now, but… well… things kinda suck down there right now.” Tetrox raised her head and took another sip of her cocoa. Thunder could be heard in the far distance, but it was just a low rumble and not the loud lightning bolt that seemingly struck just outside the apartment earlier. “Aww heck, you don’t want to hear me whining about all that now.”

Arnick shook his head, “No, no, go on! I’m actually pretty interested.”

Tetrox smiled, “Well, if you insist, sugar. I guess since we’re supposed to be all exchanging cultures and all that… might as well do some of that now.” Tetrox took one more sip, finishing off her mug of cocoa. She set the mug down on the coaster and tucked her arms inside the blanket, making herself cozy. “Y'know how there’s a power problem in Octo Valley now, right?”

Arnick nodded, “Yeah.”

“Hmph. Well honey, it’s a lot worse than they let on, really. It ain’t unusual to wake up to sirens blaring and everyone hootin’ and hollerin’ to make a run for it ‘cause the dome you’re in is about to collapse.”

Arnick blinked, “Collapse?”

Tetrox nodded solemnly, “Yeah. Being underground gets mighty frightenin’ when you never know if the dome’s gonna cave in or not the next day. Heh. In fact, that’s what I thought was happening when that big ol’ thunderbolt killed the power.”

Arnick was shocked, “Oh my Cod… so hearing something like that lightning… it’s like the world around you is about to come to an end…”

“You got it, sugar,” she nodded, “Us Octolings are usually trained to help everyone evacuate if things start going South. Nothing worse than seeing buildings fallin’ outta the sky cause the anti-grav platforms start giving out.”

Arnick was surprised, “Anti-grav platforms?”

Tetrox stifled a small laugh, “Yeah. Guess you ain’t ever seen pictures of what Octo Valley’s like now. I dunno all the details, but all the buildings and such are on these special, sciencey, floating-platforms which, well, just work somehow. Heh, except when they don’t. That’s when things get real scary. Running for your life as buildings start falling, just dropping out of the sky like flies.”

Arnick could hardly imagine how terrifying that must be.

“Thing is, I should be used to that by now. Be all level-headed and ready to help folks out by getting them to safety. We’re pretty much trained on a regular basis to be ready to help out at a moment’s notice. And yet here I am, up here on the surface, being a big ol’ fraidy Judd ducking under the couch at the first sign of trouble. Pretty sad ain’t it?”

“No! Not at all!” Arnick replied, “I imagine I’d be just as terrified, if not more terrified, if I was in the Octo Domes and something like that happened. I’m not sure I could handle that kind of responsibility.”

“Aww, now you’re just being modest. But that’s real sweet of you to say, Nicky,” Tetrox said with a warm smile, “The good news is that if this whole program works out, then us Octarians will be able to get back up here again and no longer have to worry about that sort of stuff. We’d be able to just…” she hesitated, “Have fun… like in your turf wars.”

Arnick finished off his mug of cocoa, then stood up, took Tetrox’s empty mug, and took both mugs back to the kitchen to rinse them out. Tetrox wrapped her blanket around more as Arnick came to the living room.

“Say, weren’t you saying something about TV, earlier?” Tetrox asked.

“Mind if we watch a little something?”

Arnick smiled, “Sure.”

As the rain poured outside, Arnick turned the TV on and the Inkling and Octoling sat peacefully on the couch. They watched the evening news where they were talking more about the Typhoon that was passing through. It was actually very informative until Marie returned to the studio. She then promptly began chasing Callie while shouting obscenities, prompting them to put up a “WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. PLEASE STAND BY.” message on the screen.

Arnick changed it to a sports channel that was showcasing a highlight reel of the Professional Turf War league’s most recent games. They spent a great deal of time talking about the “Terrific Teal Twins” that have also been called the “Blues Brothers”: Martin and Jaycob, who were still at the top of their game. Analysts were talking about how they got to where they were now in their careers and showed some of their best moments in a Highlight reel. Tetrox was amazed when Jaycob took out all 4 players of the other team in one Inkzooka shot. Arnick had to admit that was an impressive play.

At some point, Arnick fixed them a small dinner. It wasn’t anything special: just hot dogs and oven baked french fries. Arnick apologized he didn’t have anything nicer, or healthier, but because of the storm, he didn’t have time to do a grocery store run to make sure he had enough food for two. Tetrox didn’t mind though.

Later, Arnick showed off the Human channels to see if they had those in Octo Valley too. The Human channels were composed of movies and TV programs that archaeologists had discovered in digs and found recordings that had been somehow preserved for millenia on film. Other programs were obtained through signals that millennia ago had found their way into space, eventually bounced off some planets far out there, and eventually came back to Earth. Tetrox noted that while they may not have the programs that Inklings get to enjoy from the archaeological findings, they did have channels with programs they got from signals from space.

After a while, Arnick noticed Tetrox beginning to yawn. “Tired already?”

“Getting there,” she replied sleepily.

Arnick powered the TV off and stood up, “Here, if you’re tired now, we can get your futon set up in the other room. Best to do that now before we’re even more tired.”

“You got a point there, Nicky,” she agreed. After moving the futon into the 2nd bedroom, Arnick and Tetrox unpacked the futon and spread it out on the floor. They grabbed the new linens and laid them out for Tetrox to use. Soon they had a complete bedspread ready to go. It was too late to wash the sheets before using them, but that could always be done tomorrow. Tetrox didn’t mind.

“Oh! Do you need to use the restroom? Brush your beak or anything?”

Tetrox shook her head sleepily, “Nah, sugar. I’m beat. I’m just gonna hit the hay.”

“Okay. I’m going to be up a bit longer; get the dishes going and all that. If you need anything, just give a call.”

Tetrox then looked at Arnick and gave him a smile completely different from the smile she had earlier that morning when he first met her. It was a gentle smile. And in a voice that seemed as sweet as could be, she said, “Aren’t you a gentleman, Arnick… looking after little ol’ me…”

Then she gave a soft giggle. A giggle that sounded as sweet as honey. Arnick could feel his cheeks starting to get warm and glow a light purple hue. He could have sworn that his heart skipped a beat for a second there. He turned away bashfully, “You- You’re welcome. Good night Tetrox.”

“Good night, Nicky.”

Arnick closed the door and covered his face with his hands. Thoughts were racing a mile a minute in his head. “What the HELL was that?! Don’t tell me you’re actually falling for this… this… 8-limbed sea siren! Have you forgotten she’s an Octoling!? Don’t you remember your history lessons on The Great Turf War?! She’s clearly trying to charm the pants off you and it looks to me like you may be falling for it!”

Another voice in his head chimed in, “But that’s being a bit hasty now, isn’t it? She wasn’t there during the Great Turf War! And do you really think that someone with bad intentions would have left themselves that open and vulnerable like that? You have to admit, she was legitimately terrified and there’s no way she could have faked that.”

She still could have. She may still be a spy for the Octarians and we just don’t know it yet.”

Rubbish! She’s a bit rough around the edges, sure, but that doesn’t make her a bad person. You’re being way too paranoid there.”

Or maybe you aren’t being paranoid enough.”

These thoughts continued back and forth in Arnick’s mind as he loaded the dishwasher, brushed his beak, and finally went to bed.

Meanwhile in Tetrox’s room, a small light lit up on her Octopod. Apparently, someone had just sent her a message. Tetrox decided she’d look at it later. She didn’t want to read whatever it said right now.

She didn’t want to remind herself that she had just lied to Arnick.

And she didn’t want to remind herself how terrible she felt for doing that.

It made it very difficult for her to sleep.

To War

In honor of Chapter 677~

It was so hard to concentrate. The pressure inside of Susanoo was a bubble of heat and energy that was reflective of the fire and power that burned within the raven haired member of her team. He was breathing heavily with exertion from his quick thinking save, but she couldn’t focus on anything less than the conversation he was exchanging with her blonde best friend.

The situation outside their protective barrier was dire and in this moment, Sakura had absolutely no idea how to remedy their battle against Madara. The sheer willpower it took to confront the ancient Uchiha was stressful enough with its fail, but being virtually powerless to stop him decimating the world was straining her thoughts. Sakura wanted nothing more than to curl up alone and cry the frustrations out of her system, before finding a solution to their situation. But she couldn’t, wouldn’t, cry right now. She was a disciple of the Fifth Hokage, a seasoned warrior, a member of the indestructible, albeit unconventional, team seven. This was not the time and she would not—

It started shortly after they moved in. Dean would find Sam standing at the end of the library staring. Sometimes a cup of coffee in his hand, sometimes his arms would be crossed, but always with that crease in his forehead indicating that way too much thought was going on. He had lived with his brother’s intense introspection for years and normally didn’t give it a second thought.

“You okay there, Sammy?” Dean padded out of the bedroom in his slippers and robe, and came to a stop next to Sam’s shoulder, where he followed his brother’s gaze to the end of the library and the giant telescope there.

Between hunts and big bads, there hadn’t been any reason to use the thing. Now as he stood next to Sam, he realized how big and sophisticated the instrument was.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Sam continued to stare at the telescope, where it stood half in shadows, and opened his mouth as if to say something before closing it again.

Dean tightened the sash on his grey bathrobe. “C’mon, spit it out, dude. Breakfast isn’t gonna make itself.”

“Just wondering,” Sam hummed, before looking back at Dean, “how do you look at the stars from the basement?”

Back From Wherever You Came

(1, 2)

Felicity didn’t get far out of the alley, a handful of steps at most, before Oliver and Tommy caught up with her.

They fell into step to either side of her, an arrangement, it did not escape her notice, that put her as a physical buffer between them. She grimaced, hoping this wasn’t the start of a shitty habit.

The grimace deepened as Oliver directed them to turn right down the street, promising that Diggle should be pulling up a car at the next turn. The motion of walking down the street pulled the slick, cooling material of her blood-dampened dress against the skin of her stomach, and it was all Felicity could do not to crawl out of her skin. “Ugh.”

Tommy glanced over at her, an eyebrow raised, and saw her shaking fingers tug the front of her dress slightly away from her body. She met his eyes and the eyebrow climbed higher. Her nose wrinkled. “This is really unpleasant, okay? Like… really, really unpleasant.”

Oliver, on her other side, made some small noise, and she turned her head to look at him. He was staring at the blood on her dress, jaw squared and ticking. “You promise you’re not hurt?”

“I’m about five seconds from stripping down to my underwear in the middle of the street, but other than being kind of rattled and really grossed out, yeah, no, I’m peachy keen.”

Lord Of The Bots- Chapter Two

Title: Lord Of The Bots
Chap Title: Dragon Den
Word count: 3k
Disclaimer: derpfire is the one who created this idea, she just gave me the A-Ok to write it so hell yeah this is the official story and storyline! But everyone is welcome to write their own for it! I hope you all enjoy!

The original plan of going in both Flynn’s vehicle and his wife’s car was a bust. When everyone arrived at the Elsa’s warehouse, the two explained how her car was in the repair shop for the weekend and they were stuck with one vehicle to make the trip.

That is how Tadashi found himself squished in the very back between four others, dying as the smell of cool ranch Doritos and sour punch straws getting sucker punched into his nose. The first fifteen minutes of the trip were a little squishy, but it was manageable. Then they stopped for snacks. Seriously, they should have made a plan for the snacks, because the stench of flaming hot Cheetos was over powering in the back of the car. With the A/C broken and the building heat in the car, the trip was going from being an attack on his nose to being down right unbearable. Tadashi wondered how much he would have to pay Merida to switch him spots so he could press his mouth to the small crack the window was open for fresh air.
