and would have made so much more sense

I totally agree with the nonny who brought up how great stallison would have been! In fact, both Allison and Kira would have worked better with Stiles to me than they did Scott. I'm still mad that we got scira and stalia when stira and scalia would have made so much more sense. And it's even dumber because now they're trying to do scalia anyway (and erase scira anyway too), so why not just do it from the start like you should have?

I think that’s a question that’s going to haunt Jeff forever.

Steve Trevor is definitely trans hear me out

- I’m going through this scene by scene y’all get ready

- Kay so, when diana rescues him he’s immediately anxious when she asks him “You’re a man…?” I could almost taste the “oh god am I suddenly not passing??” fear in his eyes

- He doesn’t say something like “of course I am” or “yes haven’t you ever seen a man??” instead he goes straight for “Yeah, uhm…don’t I look like one?” this is not something a cis man worries about

- Side note: if y’all come at me with “oh he says steve is his name when they use the lasso of truth on him so he must be cis” l i s ten his name is steve. Why would he answer that question any other way? Also, I’d like to note, in the comics when Batman was asked the same question while holding the lasso of truth, he answered with Batman, not Bruce Wayne. The lasso makes you answer what YOU believe is the truth. Steve’s deadname isn’t his “true name” steve trevor is obv

- Consider: we know there were LOTS of women who cross-dressed in wwI in order to fight. What if that’s what steve did to join the military when he was much younger, but then he realized oh…maybe there’s more here going on than I thought

- HRT became available after WWII largely due to this guy, and in this superhero universe of Scientific Inaccuracies and Magical Goddesses Made From Clay, it’s not entirely implausible that HRT couldn’t have become available a few decades earlier in some capacity (alan hart is amazing, please read more about him)

- Okay, the bathroom scene: Steve panics at first when diana walks in on him, because he’s like SHIT CANT REVEAL MY WEIRD JUNK but when its clear shes not going to be weird about it, he stops trying to hide

- diana specifically says “are you considered average for your sex” not gender. And we know from later during the scene on the boat that she must know the difference, because she read the 12 volume collection on genitals and what you can do with them

- So diana’s like “well that’s not what I was expecting at all” and what she says is basically the more subtle, educated way of saying: dude why don’t you have a penis and balls

- And when steve answers above average, he’s basically saying “yeah, im trans, go me, deal with it”

- Just saying, him being trans makes this entire interaction and every one after that where steve is trying to explain western gender norms to diana significantly more hilarious

- Moving on: the boat. Diana asks about marriage and Steve answers two people go in front of a judge etc etc. then when she asks why they get married, even if they’re unhappy, steve says he doesn’t know. Marriage is as mystifying to him as it is to her. If that isn’t queer then idk what queer is

- The “this confuses me just as much as it does you” look on his face throughout this entire interaction

- His interest in her books about sex: as a trans man in an age when sex for the pleasure of vagina owners was basically unheard of/considered sinful, of course he’s interested

- The soft “no” when she says the books ultimately say men are unnecessary for pleasure; no as in utter disbelief, more like “no way can I read this??” than “no omg sex needs a penis and a vagina what are you talking about”

- Lastly: it makes SO much sense for steve to become a spy. Trans people are excellent liars. They have to be in order to survive. Steve obv would have made it through his entire military service without letting on that he was trans, so he knows he’s totally capable of lying his way into german high command

- This has so much fanfic potential, I am dying

- Go forth and write all the fanfic about diana teaching steve the secrets of her 12 volumes about sex

What is the purpose of Rutiles?

In the SU Wanted special that aired two months ago, we were introduced to MANY new gems. And before then, we introduced to two new gems: Aquamarine and Topaz. In the Wanted Special, we were introduced to Zircons, Fluorite, Rhodonite, Padparadscha, and Rutiles. For this post, I’d like to focus on the Rutiles in specific.

We’ve learned the purpose of Zircons, they’re made to be counsels and prosecutors for gems going on trial in the court.

Fluorite and Rhodonite are fusions.

Padparadscha is supposedly a defective Sapphire.

We can easily assume the purposes of Aquamarines and Topazes from the 3 episodes they appeared in.

However, we know next to nothing about Rutiles. All we know is these two twin Rutiles, who emerged as conjoined gem twins.

So, here is my question: What are Rutiles made for? Why are they presumably mass-produced in kindergartens, and what are they sent out to do?

Well, I have a theory. First, let’s talk about rutiles as we know them in our world.

Pictured above: the best photo I could find of a real-life rutile.

Rutiles are a major mineral source of the element titanium, commonly known as a tough, powerful element on the periodic table (if i paid attention in science class). They are about 60% titanium and 40% oxygen. It ranks 6.6 on the Mohs Hardness Scale.

Though rutiles can exist on their own, they are most commonly found as red spikes in minerals of many different types.

Rutile in quartz.

Rutile silk in sapphire.

Rutile in opal.

Rutile in peridot.

There are many other minerals rutile can be found in, but I wanted to use gems that we’re familiar with in Steven Universe.

Rutile is most commonly found in quartz.

Back to the rutile twins.

Notice their design. The lack of a nose or ears. The simple buzz cute. The full-body, simply designed uniform, with a lack of a diamond symbol.

Seems like if you fused with them, not much would change.

So…what am i getting at here?

Because rutile is so commonly found included in other minerals, and the rutiles are manufactured with such simple forms, I believe that rutiles in Steven Universe are made for the sole purpose of fusing with other gems.

“But, Cookie,” you interject. “Isn’t Homeworld AGAINST fusion?”

Yes, fusion is majorly outlawed on Homeworld.

However, it is accepted for one thing. Combat.

Rubies in particular are commonly seen fusing for the purpose of combat.

So, you have a gem like rutile, which is majorly made up of titanium. That’s great for strength and hardnes. If you fused a rutile with another gem, not much would change in the other gem’s appearance, so the resulting fusion would not be entirely different.

Rutiles seem as if they’d be great for fusing with other gems, potentially providing extra strength and hardness in battle.

It only makes sense to me they would be designed for fusing with. And plus, Rebecca and the crew pay more attention to gem meaning and geology than you may believe.

I could very well be wrong, and there could very well be another post exactly like this somewhere else on this site. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about this, and had to get it out here.

But consider:

Alex being the one who hit Bethany That Night and it was her who Spencer saw. Spencer just assumed she was the one who did this because at this point it was the only reasonable explanation.

Alex being caught on NAT videos. That’s how they found out about her existence. That’s the reason why Melissa was acting so strange, why she was protecting Spencer from “before it even started” and why Ian and Garrett had to die.

It could have been what Maya knew.

Ian knowing about Alex and thinking it was actually her when he wanted to push Spencer off the Bell Tower.

Alex hiding in that creepy, haunted house and watching the girls.

Alex hiding in Jenna’s garage and getting hurt in the fire. Maybe not her face but her body so she still could impersonate Spencer.

Alex being the one we saw in the flashback from before Ali went missing that Spencer doesn’t remember.

Alex stealing the game from Mona because at this point she not only hated Spencer but all of them.

Mona asking Spencer to join A Team not only because Spencer was so smart. Mona noticed there were times when Spencer acted shady. She just didn’t know it was her twin.

Alex switching places with Spencer from the beginning.

Alex making Toby join the A Team and fake his death so she could mess up with Spencer’s head and send her to Radley.

All the British words or references during the show.

How A knew so many things about the girls and nobody never saw them.

Alex being Black Veil and that’s the reason why she needed to hide her face.

Alex dressing up as the masked man in the dollhouse and that’s why Spencer had a feeling she actually knew that person.

Seriously, the list could go on.

It’s all there. They could have used all of this and made it look like it was all planned even if it wasn’t. I’m not saying it would have tied up all the loose ends but it would make much more sense.

So many possibilities. Such a wasted potential.

Like there were bits of sadness tucked into every corner of things you used to enjoy. Like the sky was never blue, but a dull grey that reflected the way you felt when the demons came out. Like ghosts were suddenly so very real, and haunting you every day in the form of lingering memories that made your chest ache. Like everything was a creation just there to mock you and remind you that somehow, someway, you weren’t worth it. You had messed up. It felt like the world changed, when in reality, it hadn’t.

You had.

At the risk of sounding “anti-feminist” again, Canon Rebecca White is an indecent human being.

I can forgive her for being daft enough to believe the drunken ramblings of a heartbroken, vulnerable man.

I can forgive her for having self-esteem that is so low she didn’t believe that man when he told her countless times that he didn’t want to be with her; but the one time he says it whilst drunk she believes him.

What I can’t forgive her for is having sex with him whilst he was that inebriated. For having sex with him whilst his judgement was that badly impaired.

If she really loved Robert, she would have turned him down and taken care of him. Just like Aaron did when put in a similar situation back in 2015.

If she really loved him, she would have called his sister and brother-in-law who were worried about him.

If she really loved him, she would have asked him the next day when he was sober, if he meant what he said.

She is not in love with Robert, she is obsessed with him. That is one part of her character that has remained consistent.

Robert has some pretty big flaws. Yes, he did use her in the past. Yes, he was mean to her. Two things Rebecca doesn’t even give a shite about.

The fact that she slept with him whilst he was drunk makes her the indecent human being in this scenario. Just like Ross was the indecent human being when he slept with a very drunk Kerry.

I hope the “feminists” who support Rebecca for being a woman are aware of this. I hope the people who ship Ross over Robert with Aaron are also aware of this.

The fact that Emmerdale continues to ignore the issue of consent makes me angry and uncomfortable. So for the sake of some of us not wanting to puke when thinking about her, I still hope the incident didn’t actually happen. Or it turns out that she has erotomania, and has been hallucinating everything.

wheretheactionis  asked:

Wait okay you probably don't want to answer this but did you have a crush on raven? Because I know I had so many crushes on friends before I realized I was gay and it was always the same "starry eyed loser trying to get her to like me more" stuff and honestly that makes a lot of the story make so much sense

Oh fuck.  I shouldn’t answer this.  But I want to so badly.  Oh fuck.

No, I’m doing it.  It was impossible not to have a crush on Raven.  If you had known her, you would have had a crush on her, too.  The minute she barged into a room, she changed the very physics of it.  She made no fucking sense half the time, but it was so beautiful.  I could cry thinking about it.  The good kind of cry.  A huge part of [the book that was unfortunately leaked] is just me rambling on and on about who she was and what she meant to me.  I hope you’ll fall in love with her, too.  If anything good comes out of this mess, I want it to be that.

Zelda in BotW is an amazing character. If I had to make a list of the 10 best characters in the LoZ games, I have a hard time imagining she wouldn’t be on it. And nearly everything I’ve seen from other people who have played the game has been bursting with positivity and appreciation for this Zelda.

However, I’m unfortunately not surprised to have eventually run across someone calling her “a miserable cunt” and a “shitty little shit bag” who is “demoralizing [Link] into oblivion” with over 100 people liking/reblogging their post.

There are a couple of things to say in response to this. For starts, Jesus christ calm down. It’s wild to me how ready people are to hate characters for almost anything (and it overwhelmingly happens with female characters–jeez I wonder why). And second, did we even play the same game? Because you know what the WORST we ever saw Zelda acting towards Link was?

That’s… that’s it. She told him she didn’t need an escort and shouted at him to stop following her. And this wasn’t just the worst that Zelda ever acted towards Link. It was also the ONLY time we saw her shouting at him or being mean to him. Was it rude/crummy/something Link didn’t deserve? Totally. Was it her being ~a miserable shitty little shit bag cunt that fucking destroyed Link’s sense of self worth~? Hell no. How the hell do you extrapolate THAT MUCH out of such a small scene?

Just to help paint a larger, and more negative picture of Zelda, let’s talk about another memory. In the first memory, which was of Zelda preforming the ceremony to appoint Link as her knight, Zelda was acting very clearly depressed during the whole thing. That would have conveyed to Link how unhappy Zelda was with him being her knight, which would have surely made Link feel shitty. So there, that’s something else people who hate this Zelda can point to. But you know what? If you want to analyze things like this, Link also made Zelda feel shitty. Oh, sure, we all know that Link made Zelda feel shitty because of her own insecurities about being a failure of a royal princess while Link had successfully become the master of the Master Sword. But Link’s own behavior also made Zelda feel shitty. We saw in the third memory that Zelda would try to talk normally with Link. Talking casually and cheerfully about making adjustments to one of the Divine Beasts because that’s what she was passionate about! But Link… would never say anything back in response. He was silent. He was her appointed knight, but he wouldn’t even talk to her when she tried to talk to him. In fact, at that point Link had NEVER spoken to Zelda, as she expressed in her diary

Imagine if their situations were reversed, and we saw Link talking to Zelda and Zelda refusing to respond to him and just staring at him with a blank expression–and then Link wrote in his diary about how stressful that was for him and how it made him feel like she thought he was a failure and hated him. The people who hate BotW Zelda would be jumping on that as an example of what a bitch Zelda was to Link. Even though when Link did it to Zelda, there’s no problem whatsoever apparently. Link was just a smol little precious angel that was cowering beneath Zelda’s “toxic belittling and dominance,” as one person described it.

(And real quick… you know who was ACTUALLY “belittling” and “demoralizing” Link? Fucking Revali. You know, the guy who would walk right up to Link and go on a giant, passive aggressive and mockery-filled rant at Link about how he’s better than Link and Link doesn’t deserve the expectations that others have of him. I still think Revali is a solid character because it’s good to have a diverse cast with varied personalities and different relationship dynamics with each other. But for crying out loud, how is anyone going to hate on Zelda for how she acted towards Link early on when Revali was there being a straight up dick with 0 tragic character motivation behind him to make us sympathetic to why he acted like such a wad?)

Of course I don’t believe that Link deserves any hate for being silent around Zelda for so long. Just like how I don’t believe that Zelda deserves any hate for the way she acted towards and felt about Link in the early memories. They were two youths who had the weight of the world placed upon their shoulders. Link’s ability to express himself was crushed by the weight of the expectations and judging eyes of everyone around him. Zelda lost her mother, was denied expressions of love from her father, was terrified that she was a failure who would doom the world to destruction because of her inability to access her powers, and was was stuck with a successful, brilliant knight who she assumed hated her and had no way of being told otherwise because HE WOULDN’T EVEN TALK TO HER.

But despite all that the two became close. Link saved Zelda’s life. Zelda reevaluated how she thought of him and even apologized for her past behavior

Zelda made an effort and kept talking to him, trying to get him to open up to her. And eventually he did, and she was able to learn the reason why he wouldn’t talk to her, or anyone, in the past. They traveled together. She examined his wounds after battle. They went out to collect specimens in the fields together. Zelda tried to get Link to lick a frog in the name of science. Link taught Zelda how to bond with her horse. They saw their home fall to Calamity Ganon and learned of the deaths of their family and friends. Their world collapsed. They fled. They defended each others’ lives, each saving the other. Zelda spent 100 years suffering alone to contain the abomination that destroyed their land while Link recovered from the injuries he gained protecting her. They fought together again. They freed Hyrule from 100 years of darkness and set out once again to rebuild their kingdom together.

But yeah. Zelda was such a cunt, right?

I mean, you can’t please everyone. That’s just to be expected. People are different. People have different attitudes and values, and like and enjoy different things, so there’s no piece of media that everyone will have the same thoughts and feelings on. It’s like how on the Nintendo eShop, BotW for the Wii U has 4719 five star reviews… and 21 one star reviews. You can’t please everyone. But again, jesus christ some people are just ready to violently hate Zelda for having extremely well developed character flaws and a rocky start to her relationship with Link that was the result of both of their individual issues clashing and preventing them from connecting and understanding each other even though they both felt nearly the exact same way. And even if you want to insist that everything bad about their early relationship was 100% Zelda’s fault alone, I wonder how Zelda could possibly make up for it… maybe putting in the effort to develop a very positive relationship with Link, saving his life just as he had saved hers, and spending 100 years in Ganon Jail would be enough to make up for it?

…nah. You’ve got to imprison yourself for at least TWO HUNDRED years to make up for telling someone to stop following you one time. Totally.

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: it's been almost 2 years and i still think about how much better the doctor who 50th would have been with paul mcgann in the role of the war doctor. i just don't understand why a new incarnation played by an entirely random actor was necessary. especially when paul mcgann was so willing to return to the role of 8th doctor. are you really telling me he was only willing to do the 7 minute prequel? i don't believe it. he would have totally done the 90 minute episode. he's been playing the role for years off screen, longer than any other actor to boot, he would have totally taken up the offer to return to the screen. it would have been such a great book end to his movie as well; 7's regeneration into 8 and his regeneration into 9 both on screen. amazing. and do you know how much cooler it would have been to see the 8th doctor? To see him betray the name of the doctor, to see him become so desperate to stop the madness he throws himself into the war he tried so hard to avoid? do you know how much more heart wrenching that would have been since he's a character we actually know? why did they force a random regeneration on him when they could have actually used HIM for the episode? i just don't get it. it would have made so much more sense too. especially since in a way the 8th doctor really is the bridge between classic and new who and isn't that what the 50th was all about? celebrating the two and bridging them together? he was the first doctor to try to bring doctor who back - the bridge already existed. how does it honestly make sense to throw a man who never had anything to do with doctor who in as the bridge? that's just silly, isn't it? john hurt is a great actor and all but he's not the doctor, you feel? like we all assumed 8 was the one who fought in the war anyway, why change that? and wouldn't it just have been amazing to see paul, david and matt on screen together? like c'mon, they would have been fantastic. why didn't this happen? WHY DIDN'T WE GET PAUL MCGANN??? I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

I just need to comment how much I love the fact that they seem to now have separate spaces for filming and living!! I can't understand how weird it must've been to not have a place in their old house that was just theirs, and I'm happy to think they may get this privacy now (and if they do decide to share little bits of the upstairs part, then great. But I hope they do what makes them more comfortable!!)

They’ve made their upstairs a sanctuary and away from work while their downstairs is where they’ll record everything and I’m so happy about that because I can imagine how flustered dan and phil could’ve gotten in the london apartment having no space to themselves that didn’t remind them of making videos and to hide away IM SO HAPPY FOR THEM AND THE LONDON DUPLEX WILL BE GREAT

it’s funny how just a few lines from dnp’s own mouths about a certain issue can completely change the way you see something that you thought you’d fully thought through and had a grasp of before. i was quite certain that in this new place they would likely not film in their bedroom(s) because i thought i understood, on an intellectual level at least, how awful it must be to know that millions of people can constantly look into the places where you live/sleep and generally have all of the intimate, personal, human moments of your life. it just made no sense to me for two people who are so, so private and value that privacy so much. i’ve frequently thought about how they might have felt trapped in this house that they chose and the filming habits they developed when they were five years younger and more naive about the degree to which their audience would continue to grow and grow. but somehow it hit me in a more visceral way today, and in a sharper way, to hear dan talk about how they were going crazy in that house, not just for the somewhat silly/comedic reasons they listed in their announcement video but because their whole house was also their filming set. he talked about how the gaming office was also their actual office and their whole house is always full of cameras and lights. it made me think so much more deeply about what it must be like to live that way, in which the physical space that you occupy and that you treat as a haven and a sanctuary–the only place you’re ever away from prying eyes–is still constantly exposed to those same prying eyes all the time bc you have nowhere else to go. and shelling out money for another filming space (”an office” like many popular youtubers have started renting separately from their homes over the past few years) never seemed like a move dnp could make. they are apathetic and probably legitimately anxious in certain ways to leave their home,  and they seem to genuinely enjoy working from home and staying inside as much as they can. and shooting their vids in the place they live gives them a ton of flexibility– like the ability to film at 3am, which seems to have become habitual for them.

basically. without rambling about this for too long. i’m emotional in the best way that they’ve found a place that presents a perfect solution to these issues that they’ve had to live with for so long. i’m just so so happy for them. they’ve created a way to continue working from home but to also have an actual home where they can be fully and authentically themselves and never have to worry about the fact that millions of people know everything about how they live. they can still show us that truer part if they want, but only on their own terms–through photos and very brief or occasional filming,,, whatever they want to do basically. but they are setting the expectation and standard from the get go that that portion of the house is theirs. and this speaks volumes to me. it’s such an immense show of commitment to their relationship and to their future–it shows that their life together (their personal life, not their professional one) is something that they think needs to be protected and nurtured and cherished and everything about that is so lovely <3  at the same time they have gone to great lengths to also ensure that we feel comfortable with this change–they’re making sure that their filming locations are set up in ways that we are familiar with, utilizing a lot of the decor and tidbits that we’ve grown to love and that also mean a lot to them. they’re not filming in some sterile location that is stripped of everything personalized and human. things like the sofa crease and the muse poster and phil’s bedspread and whatnot–items that were originally bought bc they meant something to dan and phil but that eventually also took on great meaning to the audience–those things will still form the backdrops to the content they make. but upstairs they’re giving themselves the chance to fill a new space with presumably new things and new memories that are all for them. i don’t know how anyone could think about that and not just feel a little bit faint about how much dnp clearly value each other and this life that they share. it’s enough to make my head spin haha :) i’m so happy for them, and so content when i think about the peace and promise that this move might be bringing to their lives.

INFERIOR FUNCTIONS APPRECIATION

I’ve seen too many posts about how inferior the inferior functions are! They’re usually measured against higher positions in the functional stack, and, while this doesn’t necessarily lead to inaccurate assessments (and they may be quite worth it to make), I would like to look at them through another perspective - because, sometimes, less is more.

So here’s what I appreciate about all the inferior functions when they are acting in healthy integration and moderation.

Inferior Se in INJs.
I can be in silence with you and enjoy it. I can take pleasure in the smaller things, such as a delicious meal or a pleasant scenery. I don’t have to worry about how I look like most of the time or even if I have much material success - because even when these things matter to you, they’re not your top priority. I know you won’t force me into rushed and overwhelming situations if you can help it and will have more patience than you’re normally given credit for. When you do engage the physical world as fully as you can, it is imbued with rich symbolism and meaning, unlocking and revealing universal truths in the simplest of things.

Inferior Si in ENPs.
You take bits from here and there and elevate them into wonderful and fascinating webs of information. As long as you can tell reality from fiction, I can greatly enjoy your fabrications and even your comical and dramatic exaggerations. You’re hard to pin down and keep a hold of, but you can also be incredibly sentimental and treasure significant moments with others for many years to come. Doing things the way they’ve been done isn’t your thing, and this can get you in trouble, but it can also give way to memorable adventures. Your life is, figuratively or literally speaking, a collection of souvenirs from all over the globe.

Inferior Ne in ISJs.
I love your brand of theorization and creativity - it’s well-founded and substantiated. You know better than to jump at every possibility and would rather evaluate more thoroughly. You’re not as close-minded as you seem. Often, you’re just more concerned with the implications and ramifications of choices than others are or can be. You have talent to read between the lines, but you’d rather not assume and jump to conclusions so you prefer to have things made clear instead. Your sense of humor is delightful and usually of good taste (although you would also mock both deserving and undeserving targets every now and then).

Inferior Ni in ESPs.
You realize that there’s more than meets the eye but don’t get caught up in that. Spirituality (or whatever you would call it) is important to you in a down-to-earth manner - you try to live it and unfold your answers as you go. There’s no point in worrying too much about the future when, obviously, it’s the present that manifests it. And in any case, what you envision is adaptable and can generally roll with what comes your way. You don’t need to have a purpose or end goal for everything you do, and as a result, life doesn’t pass you by and you grow with every new experience.

Inferior Te in IFPs.
You’re not in the business of telling people what to do, except sometimes. And even then, you’re more endearing than bossy. You make sense of the world with incredible depth and are easily both inspiring and motivating because of it. You have a way with words that is smooth and swift (or, at times, fiery). You can be feisty and stand your ground when necessary. And while many wouldn’t take you very seriously, you are quite capable of making valid points on issues you’re well-informed in that contradict what the majority thinks. You’re smarter than you appear, which is eventually a slap on the face to those that underestimated you.

Inferior Ti in EFJs.
Your half-baked hypotheses are doorways to exploration. There are many subjects I wouldn’t have considered if it wasn’t for your willingness to examine them despite how crazy-sounding they were. There’s a bit of truth in everything and we can learn from everyone. Maybe you make quick judgments about people and this can be off-putting, but there are often reasons for them even when the rest of us don’t see them. You know what makes people tick better than most - so let us hope you’re on our side and use this for good.

Inferior Fe in ITPs.
You know what it’s like to be awkward and not fit in, so you don’t hold others to unreasonable social standards. It’s okay to be off-beat and weird with you and you welcome it unless it is indeed unjustifiably harmful. You know how to comfort others with the truth and by distracting them with something more interesting. You would do a lot of kind and loving things for those you care about even when it takes a huge amount of effort on your part. Being adorkable is part of your charm and I can’t hate you for it unless you abuse it.

Inferior Fi in ETJs.
You may not be the most morally correct in the room, but you try to do what’s right. And to you, that often means cutting the bullshit, being practical and tackling problems as they arise to ease the load on others and lead them into a more fulfilling state. You’re rarely self-righteous or shocked and indignant at others’ sins (unless they’re beyond gross and absurd), as chances are we’re all rotten in one way or another to some extent. This makes you more accepting of others, which, seemingly paradoxically, allows them to come to terms with themselves and break out of bad habits to make better decisions next time.

Only three things were required in order for a movie night to be considered successful: a) a movie, obviously, b) blankets, to cuddle into, of course, and c) popcorn, self-explanatory. Unfortunately, this particular movie night was running low on c, and it was your turn to heat some more.

I’ve been very busy with work lately and sleeping five hours a night and things, so I’m probably overreaching and/or not making any sense, but this -

- I loved this, not only the scene, but how everything was framed, and yet there’s something bugging me - why is Dean keeping his right hand on the sigil and his left on the blade? Dean is right-handed - it would have made much more sense to cut his left hand and keep his dominant hand unhurt and free.

As I said, I’m basically delirious - but what we do know is that the left hand is the one which is a symbol for love, right? because that’s where we keep our rings (according to a medieval legend, there’s a vein that goes from the heart to our left hand, so that’s why our weddings bands go on our left hand and not our right)? Whereas the right hand - that’s rationality, doing things, fighting, writing, being all practical and sensible. And Dean’s right hand is on the Enochian sigil, because that’s the good choice - that’s what he should do to save everyone’s lives here - his, and also Sam’s, because his brother’s not far behind, because he never is, and as for Cas -

Yeah.

Cas.

Dean’s feelings for Cas - a left-hand kind of thing. Back in Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox, the other Yockey episode, Dean picks up Asa’s angel blade with his right hand, because that was a weapon, and Dean favours his right hand when he fights, and that’s what makes sense. But this time around - I don’t think that blade is Cas’ (?), but it’s still an angel blade, which means it represents this brave, amazing, infuriating angel Dean loves unconditionally - hence the left hand, and Dean’s ‘illogical’, ‘wrong’ decision to trade his life for Cas’.

Back to the Fire

Cinders was a transfer to Elsewhere University, a young upstart from somewhere he refused to disclose. He practically lived in the Engineering Hall, English Hall, and Campus Café, but it was easy enough to lure him outside for a talk with the promise of pastries. With a smile like the Cheshire Cat and a sense of humor straight from the gallows, he coyly danced around prying questions, turning them back at the asker in as little as a single sentence.

He clamored on about the stories he wrote, about his characters who all seemed to have a more vivid existence than his own. He knew them inside and out, could recite their family histories and backstories without a moment to look through the notebooks he carried around. He could name hundreds of landmarks in his fantasy world and explain their historical significance.

But he wouldn’t–couldn’t, it seemed at times–name his hometown.

He smirked at the questions, tapping his fingers on the table as if considering how to respond. His eight rings, all some combination of iron and silver, clicked on the wood in an awkward, stuttering rhythm.

“I remember salt. And storms. And an ocean past the breakwater, full of excitement and danger and the unknown. I remember the mermaid statues, decorating the street corners like peace offerings. But the name? My hometown is just as central to my identity as my first name. You’ll need more than a couple kolache to coax that out of me.”

Dime put her chin on her hands. She had heard from Cinders’ roommate that kolache was his favorite. If anything would get him to talk about his hometown, Hearth had insisted, that would be it.

There was a half-joking bet among the writing students Cinders told his stories to that he might be one of the Fair Folk. Dime knew better. They only knew the Cinders who wandered from the Campus Café to the English Hall, dazed and rambling about some aspect of his stories he’d been stalled on for weeks prior. She knew the Cinders who obsessively put his rings back on immediately after completing a mag particle test because he didn’t feel safe walking around, even in the Engineering Hall.

They didn’t know Cinders’ rings were silver and iron. They didn’t know that he wore jackets still coated in iron dust from his first mag class. They didn’t know he sewed a ring of iron jewelry chain into the lining of each of his hats.

Of course, that was because they never saw Cinders with his rings, jackets, or hats. Neither Dime nor Hearth knew why, but whenever Cinders went to the Café or to visit the writing students, he didn’t wear his protection.

“Cinders,” she started.

He cut her off with that Cheshire Cat smile and a flippant, “Did you make the kolache? Not bad, but I could give you my recipe.”

He was avoiding the question he knew was coming. Dime lifted her chin off her hands and tilted her head at him. The engineering and writing students both had questions about Cinders–questions they’d tried asking him before, only to have him talk in circles and turn it back on them. “You know what I’m going to ask. Just do us all a favor and answer this time, please.”

He sighed. He put his hands in his lap and shook his head slowly. “Do you know why I chose Cinders as my name for the University?” He waited for her to shake her head. A quiet, bitter laugh shook his frame. “Because I just can’t stop playing with fire, even after I get burned.”

Dime thought she understood what he was getting at. “You made a deal with Them, didn’t you?” Her voice was hushed, barely above a whisper. The Gentry heard everything; They would know if she addressed them improperly.

Cinders took off one of his rings, holding up at just the right angle for him to look through it. “Not so much a deal,” he sighed, “but a trade. A few, actually.” He put his hat on the table. The dull thunk from the sewn-in chain was a stark reminder of his paranoia. Even after all the precautions he took, he still prattled on about feeling unsafe walking from his dorm to the Engineering Hall.

“What did you trade?”

He put the ring back on, returning to the awkward, stuttering tapping.

“Cinders, what did you- Oh my god.”

“I needed inspiration, Dime. I couldn’t stand to have all these unconnected ideas in my head, all these stories that just wouldn’t go on paper no matter how hard I tried. It was torture. I couldn’t write stories, but I could tell them. I would sit around the English Hall after class, telling stories from my childhood to anyone who would listen, and I would notice some of the Fair Folk listening from the edge of the courtyard.”

Dime stared at him, understanding and horror dawning on her as he told the story of his first trade.

How he took his rings, jacket, and hat off and approached the Gentry at the Café with an offering of–what else–kolache. How he offered them a story just to listen to his request, and how when they accepted, he told them about the Woman of the Storm, a story he grew up with. How he bartered for inspiration and drive afterward, offering up the first few years of his childhood memories in exchange. How he ran back to his dorm in a haze, waking up the next morning with stories that finally made sense but a loss of interest in his oldest friends.

“They loved my stories.”

“Gamble nothing you cannot lose. You know this. Hearth told you; I told you! Why would you barter memories?” Her hands shook, curled into fists on the table, and she gritted her teeth. It made perfect sense now. Why he never went home for the holidays and breaks. Why he insisted on keeping so much secret. Why his stories and characters had more life than he did. Why he never wore iron around the English Hall anymore.

As an engineering major whose primary focus fell on metals like iron and low-carbon steel, he should have been safe from the Gentry. It hung in the air around him, dust from grinding and liquid from mag particle on his skin and clothes. As far as Dime knew, They would never take him, despite his stories.

But like a fool, he sought Them out. An offering and a story for an audience, memories for inspiration.

“The payoff seemed worth the price until I went home to family I no longer knew, a city whose name never stays with me, and friends I had to befriend again. All I had were my stories.” Cinders wasn’t looking at her anymore. He wrung his hands, eyes focused on the trees behind Dime. “I had played with fire, and I was burned. I came back here before break was over so I could have something familiar, but the inspiration went away again, so I made another trade.”

Dime got up. She couldn’t listen to him explain any more. “I’m sorry,” she said, wiping at the tears welling in her eyes. “I shouldn’t have asked.”

He let her go without a word.

It was weeks before she saw Cinders again in more than passing. He’d been seen telling stories to the writing students after classes, lurking around the Café during his lunch, and wandering the Engineering Hall, but even Hearth wasn’t sure what he’d been up to.

His eight rings were down to six, his jackets finally washed, and his hats nowhere to be seen.

She heard from a few of the writing students that his stories were more vibrant than ever, more detailed and full of life than he seemed to realize. She wondered if they understood the cost of Cinders’ creativity.

She saw Them, too. Listening to Cinders as he wove his tales, venturing closer and closer with each time she saw him. She feared for him. Music students came back most often, followed by the writing students, but Cinders was a wild card, an engineering student who just happened to be a storyteller.

Once, she ran up to him when she saw him stumbling away from the trees near the English Hall. She called his name four times before he heard, yet he didn’t seem to really see her.

“Cinders, it’s been a while, what have you been getting up to? Hearth and I-”

He cut her off with the same Cheshire Cat smile and flippant tone as he had all those weeks ago.

“I knew you once, didn’t I?”

Do you think it's a bad thing that the community seems to favor one set of characters in Undertale over others? Sans and Papyrus being small to Undertales plot seemed to have a majority of content dedicated soley to just then. While this isn't always true and people like you have shown a importance on other characters it seems people forgot what made the game great, the vast and great supporting characters. I'd like to know you opinion, you may think this isn't even a concern or existing problem

Well sans and papyrus ARE a big part of the game since they padticipate in all the memorable moments of the game itself.

Sans is my favorite character, he actually moves the plot forwards so it just makes sense that people would pay more attention to him.

This doesn’t have to affect your vision on a character. You shouldn’t even care what the fandom does to the character and much less set your own opinion of them based on what the fandom does.

Pretty sure all the people out there tjat “don’t like sans” it’s onky because “the fandomruined it for them” or mistakenly call him an “overrated character” when he’s ANYTHING but overrated. He is OVERUSED, yes, but this has kothing to do with how likeable his character is and his importance in game.

His character design is brilliant, and I like it much more tham other characters.

But this is why I play undertale oftenly, maybe once a month, or more times. Because that reminds me of all the great moment I had with other characters as well. When papyrus jumped out the window, when toriel huged me in the ruins, when I cooked with undyne, when I danced with mettaton, when I dated alphys, when asgore destroyed the button, when I pet the lesser dog until he went to no dog has ever gone before, when asgore broke the mercy button, when i fought omega flowey, when i hug asriel… and more

I treasure and appreciate all these moments and remind me of how incredibly creative and awesome the other characters are. I’m glad I decided to show that in season 2. Regardless of sams being there or not, even if he had been there the entire season, I’d have still focused on other characters because they are just as amazing to me.

I wish people would rememner that more oftenly, even if you didnt play the game… you at least watched a gameplay and liked it right? And sans wasn’t the only reason of why you liked it.

So with glitchtale, I try to keep the characters as close to the game as possible and right now I’m trying to give them all a spotlight to shine, so I can show how awesome their ORIGINAL designs and personalities are. The same thing that made me love this game in the first place

You gotta love it when SK extremists have the gall to say that it would make more sense for Sasuke to be seeing Karin, rather than marry someone like Sakura who “forced her feelings onto him”

Because it’s not as though Sasuke actually told Karin to back off as a direct result of her forced and unwanted advances or anything…

Nor is it the case that Sasuke was again made very uncomfortable directly due to Karin’s forced and unwanted advances, because he obviously got much more comfortable and accepting of them as time went on…

So yeah, people definitely need to throw shade on Sakura, because she’s obviously the one who forced her feelings onto Sasuke, of course ^_^
