You’re His Ex Girlfriend and You See His New Girlfriend Wearing Your T-Shirt: Part 2

Part 1

Masterlist linked in bio

Growing up, people told Y/n that you could die from a broken heart—that the stress on your heart strings could weaken, and all that’s left is the pain in your chest.

Y/n thought her heart would fail her, rupture all that’s left of her and leave her body to decompose. She believed that, if her broken heart wasn’t going to kill her, loneliness and lack of sleep would push her towards her end.

Moving on—something that seemed so simple yet so impossible for Y/n to do.

When the hurt in her chest and the hallucinations from exhaustion started to become too much for her to handle, she was willing to do anything to help herself. She started taking up yoga sessions, started writing music, even started cooking in an attempt to bring herself back from whatever hell she was in.

She even considered moving on; meeting a man at a bar and getting to know more about him rather than his drink order. But something seemed so wrong about that—something was unsettled inside of her at the thought of being with someone who wasn’t Harry.

The image of Jessica in Harry and Y/n’s t-shirt was enough to haunt her nearly every hour of the day. She started going mental, constantly wondering what they were doing together in the moments she was most vulnerable. She wondered about their love life, their future, their interests. She thought about everything.

It wasn’t until Gabby was determined to mend the broken girl raiding her house, finding any possible excuse to give her a sense of life again, that Y/n found the slightest bit of hope.

Y/n was losing it, entirely, and Gabby refused to continue being a bystander.

Gabby had set Y/n up on a blind date only a couple weeks back, practically begging her to seize every opportunity she possibly can to get over Harry. It was all Gabby could do to help her, considering nothing quite helped Y/n’s well-being since the breakup.

“Oh, he’s just so perfect!” Gabby squealed, clapping her hands before gripping tightly around Y/n’s wrists in excitement. “He’s gorgeous! Amazing blue eyes—breathtaking, really! And he’s so sweet, Y/n! I haven’t met a single person who’s disliked him and he’s such an amazing photographer! And his teeth! His teeth are marvelous! Do you know how hard it is nowadays to find a man with nice teeth? I mean—“

By then, Y/n had dozed off, and it wasn’t for any personal reason against Gabby; she’s appreciated every bit of hard work to help her through the heartbreak Y/n’s been dealing with nearly half of a year now. It’s just that she wasn’t ready to move on, not that she didn’t want to.

It had been nearly five months, which may seem like such an abundance of time to rid feelings for somebody, but did time really help moving on from someone she’d planned to spend the rest of her life with? It seemed nearly impossible. She could barely see herself looking at other men in a romantic sense, how could she see herself going on a date with somebody? Especially when she was still in love with somebody else?

She was biting the bullet with letting time heal her, but she felt that was the only way. Nothing more could help her. If anything, she believed dating would make it worse, if she were being honest.

But the look of excitement Gabby had at the mere thought of Y/n being happy again was something Y/n found nearly impossible to resist. Besides, she had definitely been overstaying her welcome at Gabby’s house no matter how much Gabby’s tried to deny it and has put so much stress onto her that maybe, just maybe, doing this one favor for all that she’s done for her.

“So, what do you say?”

Y/n blinked harshly when Gabby’s voice drowned out all the scrambled thoughts in her head, shaking her head slightly to regain her understanding of reality.

“What?”

“Monmouth Coffee Shop at noon tomorrow. Dan really wants to meet you, Y/n! Please!”

Y/n’s eyes widened, snapping her head up to meet Gabby’s hopeful eyes.

“The Monmouth?! Are you crazy?! That’s Harry’s favorite coffee shop, you know that! Dan and Harry probably know each other, that’s how much he goes there!”

Gabby’s eyes narrowed as her lips pursed, gaze directing toward the ceiling in thought.

“Harry? Harry who? I don’t remember who that is, never heard that name in my life.”

Her tone reeked with sarcasm, which made Y/n’s eyes nearly roll to the back of her head. As much as she wished Gabby’s negative remarks about Harry were comedic, there was always something about them that infuriated her. She always supposed it was the instinctual aspect of loving someone so much.

Gabby sighed as she reached her hand up to rub Y/n’s shoulder gently.

“Look,” she began, “you’re my best friend and I hate seeing you like this. You’re not the same Y/n I always knew, and I think you see yourself that way, too. And in all honesty, I don’t give a fuck about Harry anymore. As sadistic and twisted as it sounds, I don’t care about his emotions, or how he feels. He did this to you. He killed a part of you and I feel it’s my obligation to help you through this. So, please, go out with Dan tomorrow. He works at Monmouth, he’ll meet you before his shift starts at 1:30.”

Gabby’s arm slid off of Y/n’s shoulder at the shadow of uncertainty behind her eyes. Even though Gabby understood all the pain and hesitation, she didn’t want to see Y/n suffer another day. She just couldn’t.

“Please,” she whimpered, “Dan has been the only sense of hope I’ve gotten to make you happy again. Just do this one thing, please? And if it doesn’t work, then you can blame me. I’m just trying here.”

Y/n coughed slightly, her inability to say no wearing off of her at Gabby’s desperate pleads. It was an opportunity to turn things back around in her life, and if it didn’t go as planned, she really didn’t have anything more to lose.

She nods her head softly.

“Yeah—yeah, okay. I’ll meet him.”

Maybe this would be good for her.

Dan is lovely, always caring for Y/n and making sure she feels like loyalty whenever she’s around. He puts her first, in everything, and made a rule that the date can’t end until I hear you laugh at least six times.

It’s cute, really, how effortless he is at giving someone so much attention. Y/n likes it—loves it, even, but it still never feels right to her. She sees something with him, but nothing long term, not in the way she sees Harry.

But he’s good for her now, when she’s at her worst and needs someone to be there for her. He’s able to provide her with the company she desperately needs in order to cure the possible fatalities that came with her broken heart.

“Thank you for the coffee, it was great.” Y/n smiles softly, her cheeks blushing slightly as she traces the rim of her coffee cup.

It’s nearly their tenth date, and they still meet at the Monmouth at noon before his shift. It’s become a routine for them, meeting together at noon before Dan drops her off at the parking station. It became something they both looked forward to throughout their week, and soon became more of a tradition between them.

Dan grins, almost instinctively wrapping his arms around Y/n’s shoulders so that her head makes rest on his chest. He sighs, pressing a small kiss to the top of her head before resting his chin where his lips once were.

“Of course. I’ll be getting out at around 6 o‘clock so maybe I can stop by for a few? Maybe watch a movie?”

He knows the answer before she says it—his constant attempts to get closer to her always seeming to fail. There’s always a hesitation, or always an excuse to prevent them from being alone together.

He’s well aware that there are parts of her that need to be fixed, still being completely destructed by her ex-lover. He’s tried tirelessly to get her to open up and to trust him, but there’s a thick barrier still in their way of each other. It disheartens him, to know she refuses to let him in.

She sighs, guilt evident in her breath as she softly pushes away from him.

She does that often, he’s noticed it.

She feels horrible for doing so every time. Everything between them has remained stagnant, nothing being built so that nothing could be knocked down. It’s not that Y/n doesn’t trust him, it’s that Y/n doesn’t trust herself. She’s still in love with someone else, and she can’t hurt Dan—not in that way.

“I think I’m just going to—“

“Yeah, I know.” Dan nods, arms moving to cross at his chest, “I get it. Just like every other time.”

Y/n reaches her shaking fingers to brush her hair behind her ear, guilt flashing in her eyes as she refuses to meet his gaze. She’s familiar with the look he has on his face well enough to know he’s upset again, being constantly shut down by her.

“I’m so sorry, Dan.” She whispers, “But I’m trying. I want to keep trying with you. If you let me.”

He looks unconvinced, as he’s been hearing this for a while now. But something inside of him can’t quit her, no matter how much his intuition tells him she’s a dead end. Maybe he feels sorry for her on a level he’s never felt sorrow for somebody else. No matter how much she hides it, she really does need him. Not in a romantic level, but she does need him to show her that he cares for her and that he’ll always be there. She needs that sense of security, and he’s the only one that can provide it for her.

“Yeah,” he nods, “we can keep trying. It’s okay, I’m here for you.“

Harry had been living in his studio for the past couple of weeks. It certainly wasn’t ideal, but it was much better than sleeping on his and Y/n’s bed—alone.

That’s all he’s felt since their break up—lonely. It’s quite strange, considering Harry had millions of supporters, an entire band throughout his solo career, and producers around him nearly every hour of the day. He used to complain that he never had alone time anymore, that between all the constant traveling and being at the peak of his career, it was hard to find time for himself.

But now, in the midst of everything happening in his life, he wishes to feel that sort of hustle again.

Y/n was the person that kept him grounded through everything. She was the one consistency in his life, which gave him all the more reasons to love her. Whenever he was overwhelmed with the pressure put on him, or feeling homesick during his travels, she was always the one to keep him at bay and give him a sense of clarity.

Home hadn’t become a house, instead, Y/n’s heart. Wherever she was, he felt at home. Even when she was half way across the world, it was her voice that brought him back and reminded him that, no matter how much he missed the walls of familiarity, home was always a phone call away. She gave him that sense of comfort everywhere she went, it was truly amazing.

And when he broke up with Y/n, he didn’t think of how much everything around him would be affected. He thought time would do them best—would help mend the relationship that seemed to be collapsing beneath their feet. Their connections were lost, replaces by uncomfortable silences and unbarring arguments.

He didn’t think of the consequences when he did it. He didn’t think about how lost he’d become, or how he had no place to call home, or how there was no consistency in his life anymore. There were so many aspects of his life that Y/n had given him—so much of them that he didn’t realize until she moved out.

It was the exact reason he started dating Jessica. She was a great distraction, a beautiful woman to take his mind off of everything.

They weren’t much of anything. Nothing about them was exclusive besides what the media saw of them: boyfriend and girlfriend moving in together in London. It was far from the truth, really. He was with her to terminate his dry spell and rid his loneliness, and she was with him because he infatuated her.

He ended it all, though, that same morning Y/n found Jessica wearing their shirt. The entire incident gave him a realization; that nobody could fill his void like Y/n did.

The fear of losing her forever and making her believe he was in love with somebody else was enough to break him out of his selfish ways. She had been waiting for him for months, and when he returned, he wasn’t the same man he was.

Not only did Harry know that Y/n lost all her faith in him—he lost all faith in himself, as well.

“I’m so screwed, Nick. I fucked up everything. Everything.”

Harry was laying with his back flat against the studio couch, hands rubbing down his face as he tried to steady his harsh breathing.

It was just after he had run into Y/n at the grocery store, where she had seen Jessica wearing Harry and Y/n’s t-shirt. Although he was practically mute during the encounter, everything hit him at once after Y/n and Gabby walked out.

He called Nick in a hurry, incoherent and completely disoriented from the tears he’d broken down into. Everything he thought would be mended completely fell down on them—all because of him.

“Jessica was wearing the shirt with the—fuck, you know the shirt, and Y/n saw and she was such a mess, Nick. I didn’t even say anything to her, she was practically begging me to say something and I didn’t say a word.”

Nick sat cross-armed on one of the chairs, directly across from Harry. He wished he could have felt remorse seeing Harry in such distress, however, he never agreed with Harry’s actions and made it clear numerous times. In his eyes, this was karma’s ticking time bomb.

“You tend to be a real jackass sometimes, you know that?”

Harry lifted himself up so that he could sit properly. His body slumped against the back of the couch, head rested in his palm as he coughed uncomfortably at Nick’s choice of words.

“You let go of the best thing that’s ever happened to you and then you just move on, as if she meant nothing, and you think you just fucked it all up now? Over the goddamn t-shirt?”

Harry scowled at him.

“I haven’t moved on, and it’s more than just a t-shirt, you know that. That was ours.” Harry defended, glaring over at his direction.

“So why was Jessica wearing it after you fucked her on the bed you and Y/n shared every night for the past three years?”

Something about Nick’s words gave Harry a foul taste in his mouth. As much as he wished Nick didn’t say it in that way, that’s exactly what Harry did, and knowing he had to live with that for the rest of his life made his stomach flip inside of him.

He really did fuck it up. Nothing he did was excusable, nothing he did was forgivable. He betrayed the one woman he loved so dearly—the one woman he’d always consider his soulmate. He really, really fucked it up.

He gulped as he tried to find words to justify himself. There was really nothing he could say.

“She—she had just put it on while I was sleeping and when—when I noticed she just wouldn’t shut up about breakfast and I couldn’t just be like ‘Hey, Jess, could you take off that shirt? That belonged to me and my ex-girlfriend and I don’t appreciate it?’ How could I do that?”

He sighed, leaning his face into the palm of his hands as he looked back onto his experiences with Jessica. Was it all worth it? Was she really worth all of this?

“She means nothing to me, Nick. I lost the girl I love for somebody who doesn’t mean anything to me.” He whispered, “How do I live knowing that?”

It’s nearly two in the afternoon when Harry finally decides to leave his studio. He’s been working on some songs he found himself writing during his free time, something he found therapeutic throughout the past couple of months.

Recording and writing have become the only distractions that seem to work for Harry. Everything else became temporary. Writing out his emotions and singing the words he wishes he could say has been the only sense of closure he’s had in a while.

“Dan! Long time no see!” Harry smiles when he enters Monmouth, a familiar face being something he finds so relieving.

Dan looks up from his register, reaching over the counter to give Harry a hug as he greets him enthusiastically.

“Haven’t seen you in quite a while. On your lunch break?”

Harry nods as his eyes squint, reaching for the back of his neck as he reads over the menu.

“Yeah, kind of in a hurry today if you don’t mind. Can I just get a medium coffee with almond milk, please? And a slice of apple pie, feeling kind of brisk today.”

Dan works his fingers across the cash register, yelling out his order to the barista before making small talk about the weather. Considering Harry hasn’t been seen in Monmouth nearly as much as he used to, they both found it nice to catch up with each other for the short while they’ve been distanced.

When Dan reaches over to give Harry his spare change, an all too familiar silver ring catches his attention immediately. At first glance, he swears his heart stopped beating.

There’s no way, there’s just no way that could be the ring Harry gave to Y/n. Dan and Y/n have never met before, considering she had only visited here a handful of times during Harry’s lunch break. And even then, she would just stand patiently by the door while Harry waited to retrieve his order.

There’s just no way, but the top of the rose has a particular rust on it that resembles Harry’s perfectly—and no matter how long it’s been since he’s seen it, he’ll never forget what it looks like.

Harry’s hand grips onto Dan’s wrist instead of reaching out to grab the spare change laying upon his palm, flipping over his hand to inspect the silver ring snug almost too perfectly around his finger. He’s aggressive, movements harsh and face tight with anger, but at this point in time, the last thing Harry’s worried about is Dan’s slightly intimidated composure.

“Where did you get this?”

Unlike his demeanor, his voice is soft and breaking between each word. There’s an unrecognizable shift in his eyes when he sees the wear and tear Harry knows he caused before gifting it to Y/n. This is most definitely his, and knowing Y/n was the one who gave it to him makes him nearly throw up all the contents in his stomach.

“Girlfriend gave it to me,” Dan smiles “well, not really my girlfriend yet. But you know how they are. I told her I liked it and she insisted I have it.”

Harry swallows the lump in his throat, making him nearly whimper when he opens his mouth to speak.

He’s never felt so much pain before. The breaking that was once only in his heart spread like wildfire across every bone and ligament in his body. It burns, the sudden realization that Y/n has a boyfriend, that Y/n is no longer going to be there—waiting for him—the way he always expected her to be, that Y/n has taken it upon herself to seek revenge on him so that he can feel everything she felt that one Sunday morning at the grocery store.

And it’s then he realizes that this is nothing compared to everything he’s put her through. In his favor, this is just a stupid ring her gave her for her birthday because he loved the way she twisted it around his finger. It didn’t have much value between them, just something small they shared. He couldn’t imagine the hurt he would have now, standing her, if Dan were wearing their Lover t-shirt.

“Wh—What’s her name?”

His voice is in a whisper now, only the slightest bit of hope draining from his body when he hears Dan speak again.

“Y/n. She’s a good girl, you’d like her.”

Harry almost laughs. You’d like her. He has no idea, he’s in love with her.

It’s as if every part of Harry’s body begins to shut down. Maybe it’s from the shock, or the overbearing pain he feels in his chest, but he suddenly begins to feel lightheaded. His muscles turn numb and all his orientation seems to scramble as if he’s intoxicated.

Dan’s eyes narrow when he sees all the color drain from his face, his eyes widened and soaked with tears. He watches as he nearly falls backward, only to balance himself with his foot when he takes a proper step away from the counter.

“Harry? Harry, you alright?”

Never fucking say my name again is the first proper thought that his brain can register. But his throat is tight and his tongue is numb. He attempts to take a breath of air, but he feels like his lungs are collapsing in his chest, preventing him from doing anything besides stumble uncoordinatedly out of the Monmouth doors.

He’s falling apart—that’s exactly what it feels like. He feels like every limb is falling from his body as he walks towards his car. He doesn’t know exactly how he’s moving, even if he’s stumbling on his own two feet and colliding into stranger’s bodies as he does so, he doesn’t understand how his body finds the strength to keep moving.

Y/n moved on. Y/n’s dating Dan. Y/n gave his ring to him. It’s all over, everything is over.

“No” he mumbles frantically, jealously flowing in his veins, chest heaving from the sobs that are threatening to spill out of him, “no, no no no.”

He starts to wonder where he’s missed it, and exactly how long it’s been since Y/n moved on. She was so broken at the grocery store the other week; what could have possibly altered her feelings that quickly? Did Dan really impact her that much?

But that’s his girl. Y/n is his girl, she’s the one he was so sure he was going to spend the rest of his life with. Even with Jessica, even with everything that’s happened, Y/n is his soulmate, and there isn’t anything in the world that can convince him otherwise.

Nobody is going to take her from him. He refuses to believe she belongs to somebody that isn’t him; there isn’t an atom in his body that doubts their companionship.

Before he thinks twice—before he really gives himself a chance to stop himself—Harry slides his cell phone out of his back pocket once he reaches his car. He slumps against the hood as his fingers work furiously across his screen.

There has to be something, at least some sort of proof that this is really happening to him, that this isn’t in a nightmare he can easily wake himself out of. There had to have been a hint, a warning for him to have. She would have never moved on without saying something to him. They were so strong together, she would have never left without closure.

Nothing about it makes sense.

And then, he sees it.

He falls to his knees, hitting the concrete harshly below him. His body gave out from beneath him, his muscles and bones failing him.

It’s there, right in front of him, mocking him and all the shitty decisions he’s made. It’s there—on Y/n’s private Instagram page—a picture of Dan holding Y/n’s hand on top of a table in Monmouth, Harry’s ring wrapped perfectly around his pointer finger.

Steele rose has never looked so good xx.

Summary : You hated everything about Jungkook, from his cocky smirk to his annoying voice, and he could say the same about you. But the both of you were stuck together, forced to live with each other because of the landlord, it wasn’t a choice.
Yet, you didn’t know if he really hated you, or if you really hated his voice once you came home from work, hearing your name tumbling from his mouth in breathy moans.

You took a deep breath, trying to containt yourself. Both of your hands flat on the kitchen counter, you closed your eyes. You didn’t want to get mad, especially this soon in the morning.
You opened your eyes, before staightening your back and adjusting your shirt.

« Jungkook. », you called, hoping he would hear you through the noises of cars and shot guns coming from the tv. Your roommate simply hummed, not taking his eyes off of the screen.

« Jungkook, listen to me. », you harshly said. He paused his game to look at you, eyebrows raised at your boldness. The noises stopped abruptly, immersing the room in an almost religious silence.
Jungkook moved his head, questionning.

« How many times do I have to tell you to do the fucking dishes ? », you asked through gritted teeth.
The boy only rolled his eyes, shaking his head. « Argh, I’ll do them later. », he simply said, his face turning towards the tv again.

« Jungkook you need to do them now. », you started, making your voice a little louder so he could hear you over the noise.  « We don’t have any plates or bowls. », you continued, making your way to the living room.

You really didn’t want to fight him, last night was enough, but everything was dirty in the kitchen, and you needed to eat before going to work.
Your rubbed your temples, breathing in.

« Jungkook, I need to eat, I have to go to work. », you said, like you were talking to a child, standing in front of the screen.

« Y/N, move ! », almost screamed Jungkook, making motions with his hand before looking up at you.

He saw your determined look, arms crossed. He got up from the couch, tossing his controller, and he swore to himself that he would make you pay for it.

You took a deep breath, exiting from your car. The cold air ghosting over your skin, calming your nerves. You had a long and stressful day, the door of your apartment seemed like the door to heaven.
You looked up at the dark sky, before your attention got caught by the light coming from the window of your living room.

It was rare for Jungkook to stay in the living room, normaly he would watch a movie in his room, but maybe he was still playing his game, you thought.

You quickly walked towards the building, you were craving to feel the soft fabric of your duvet and rest for the week end.

Your hand grabbed the cold door handle, opening the heavy door of your apartment building. You were bending to take your shoes off and allow your heels to rest before you heard it.

The pounding sound of music, and you already knew where it was coming from. You cursed, rapidly climbing the stairs.
You didn’t even had to pull your keys out of your purse, since the door of your apartment was wide open.

Almost immediately, you started fumming, fists clenched. From the hallway you could see silhouettes moving around, dancing to the music.

« You got to be fucking kidding me. », you mumbled to yourself, walking into your apartment. The smell of alcohol was obvious, but you couldn’t care less, actively looking around to find Jungkook.
People were dancing, and you looked horrified, as you noticed some people you didn’t know on your couch, an obvious stain on the arm rest.

You looked around, trying to find someone you knew. You made you way into the crowd, feeling out of place with your working clothes.
Your body was pushed against other people, and suddently, you felt a pair of hands on your hips, pulling you into the person’s torso.

« Y/N ! You’re finally home ! », the person giggled, hugging you from the back, and you instantly knew who the voice belonged to.
« Jungkook, what the fuck is going on ?! », you almost screamed, turning around and freeing yourself from his embrace.

Even if you hated Jungkook, you knew him enough to tell that he was at least tipsy, a gummy smile on his face. The boy’s hands went back to your hips, pulling you into him once again. His head went to the crook of your neck, and you couldn’t help but move your head away.

« We’re just having a little party. », he explained. « Dance with me. »

His request took you off garde, your palms went to his torso so you could look into his eyes. « Jungkook. », you said sweetly.
The boy hummed, hands locking behind your back.

« I want everyone out of here in 30 minutes or I’m kicking you out. »
Jungkook’s smile instantly vanished, his normal self coming back as his touch disappeared.

« Oh, you forgot ? », you asked, fake pouting. « If the landlord finds out that you organised a party without informing him, you’re out. »

In reality, you were just threatening him. Yes, the landlord would probably kick him out if he found out, but the neighbours were on vacation, so no one was there to complain about the noise. And on the other hand, even if you hated Jungkook, you would rather live with him than paying the full rent, because, let’s be real, finding a new roommate was hard.

If eyes could kill, you would probably be dead. Jungkook was enrage, and you only smiled at him, feeling victorious. He licked his lips, looking around, and you knew you had won, walking away to your room, pushing away everyone too close to you.

You quickly slammed your door, sighing as you untied your hair.

After a few moments, the apartment was left silent, Jungkook apparently got rid of everyone pretty quickly.

Your head fell on your pillow as you wrapped yourself in your duvet, sighing in relief. Your muscles started to relax slowly, starting to fall asleep, before you heard it.

A girl moaning.

You rubbed your eyes before tossing your duvet away from your body, you had spent one of the worst night ever.
You were already exhausted, your eyes closing without your will, and it was hot, way too hot, the duvet sticking to the thin layer of sweat on your skin. And on top of that, Jungkook fucked some random girl he certainly didn’t know.

You knew he was doing this just to piss you off, you could already see his annoying smirk on his face.
You sighed, getting up, your feet meeting the cold wooden floor. You walked out of your room, not caring about your appearance, you were only wearing a long t-shirt and your underwear.
You were craving for some tea and you needed it now. You quickly brushed your teeth, noticing no signs of Jungkook’s presence and made your way to the kitchen.

To your surprise, the living room was clean, no cups of the floor, no empty bottles. If it wasn’t for the stain on your couch, it was like nothing happened.
You raised your eyebrows, at least you wouldn’t have to fight with Jungkook.

Pouring the hot water in your cup, you absently watched as the water turned brown. You slowly added the milk, before feeling two hands on your hips, rolling your eyes as Jungkook’s head dropped to the crook of your neck.

You groaned, getting away from his grip, leaving your cup on the kitchen counter to take care of your toast.

« I wouldn’t mind waking up to this every day. », he said, with his low morning voice, leaning in the corner of the kitchen. Your back was turned to him, but you could feel is eyes travel down your legs.

« Fuck you. », you simply said, spreading your chocolate on the bread. Jungkook didn’t respond, silently watching you.

You made your way towards your cup, but the boy stood beside you, his hand sneaking once again on your hip.
« Is that for me ? », he asked. His head moved towards the plate, humming the smell of the toast, while doing so, his breath ghosted over the skin of your cheek, his perfume he was wearing making you dizzy.

Your hand smacked his torso, « What the fuck, no. »

« Wow, after cleaning the living room I thought I would get some kind of reward. », he said, his tone changing at the last word.
You turned around,« Oh so, I should give you a reward because you cleaned the mess you’ve made after you threw a party ? »

Jungkook opened his mouth, but you continued, « Besides, even if you ended the party, the girl you fucked was way too loud. », you said, leaning against the kitchen counter and taking a sip of your tea and putting the cup down.

He almost looked embarrassed for a split second, before regaining his cocky attitude, leaning towards you.
His hand went to your jaw, his thumb lightly tugging at you bottom lip. His boldness caused your breath to get caught in your throat, and he saw it.
Smirking, he hummed, « You can tell me if you’re jealous, you know. »

He licked his lips, watching your own lips, and unconsciously leaning towars them.

« You need to clean the stain on my couch. », you breathed, before escaping from his embrace.

After the “accident”, nothing like that happened again.

Yes, you thought about it, was he really going to kiss you ? Are was it just another way to annoy you ?
If he wanted to annoy you, it was working, and what pissed you off more than anything, was the fact that you couldn’t stop thinking about how close he was, and he didn’t seem to care, as if it never happened.
And you wish you never happened, you wished you never felt you heart beat so fast.

Of course, you got back to Jungkook, stealing his video games until he cleaned your couch. He had to clean it himself, and hated every second of it. And once again, he swore he would make you pay for it.

And he did. You had a sleepover at your best friend’s house, and Jungkook knew it. While you were getting ready, he took his chance and sneaked into your room, easely finding your bag.

He knew you would probably kill him, but his plan was too perfect.
The next day, after the sleepover, you and your friends would go to the club. He knew you were excited about it, and he didn’t feel an once of guilt when he poured the ink of his pen on your red dress.

He was going to ruin your night just like you ruined his in the first place. Quickly folding the fabric and shoving in back in your bag, he closed your it before going back to the living room like nothing happened.

And you should have knowned that he was up to something when he sweetly smiled at you before you closed the door.

But Jungkook’s plan wasn’t that good, he thought that you would only see the ruined fabric after the sleepover, just before going out. But you were too excited to show your new dress and unpacked your bag as soon as you entered your bestfriend’s house.

Your heart sank when you unfolded the fabric, discovering the wide black stain in the middle of the dress, before rage took over you.
Cursing loudly, you didn’t give your best friend any explaination before storming out of her house, blood boiling, fingers impatiently taping on the steering wheel at every red light.

You almost ran up the stairs, before taking a deep breath when you were faced by your door. « Calm down, you don’t want to kill someone tonight. », you thought.

But another voice in your head reminded you that the dress he ruined costed a lot, and you really needed this night out with your friends to relax and suddently, all the rage that was starting to fade came back in a wave.

Opening your door, you were greeted by the darkness of your living room, and for a second you thought Jungkook was gone, maybe out for the night, but you heard something. The boy was probably playing some game with his friends.

Quietly walking without turning the light on, you followed the faint noise before freezing in the middle of the room.

The noises, it’s wasn’t him talking, it was him moaning.

You were so shoked, you almost dropped your keys. You didn’t know if you had to laugh, open the door of his room or just run away as quickly as possible and act like nothing happened.

Putting your keys down on the kitchen counter, you leaned against it. You could hear your rapid heat beat along side Jungkook’s moan, sweat starting to form on your forehead.
You wanted to get out, so bad, but you were stuck there, unable to move. His moans were getting louder, his breath ragged, little whines coming from his lips from time to time.

Your cheeks were starting to heat up, when you heard a particularly loud moan, before

your name.

Your eyes opened, wide, starring at Jungkook’s bedroom door. You moved your head, you swore to yourself it was just your brain tricking you.

But you heard it again, clearer this time.

« Y/N, fuck ! »

And your heart sank, once again.
Your name was tumbling from his lips in broken moans, your legs felt like jelly, his breath got more and more erratic as yours got caught and suddently,

it stopped.

It stopped, and the whole apartment was silent, like nothing happened. Your eyes still wide, you started to breath normaly again.
You took your keys, head dropping to look at the floor, before you heard the door.

Oh, fuck.

You immediatly looked up, cursing yourself for not running away when you could. You froze as you saw Jungkook, walking out of his room, obviously frustrated. His hand running in his hair, his sweatpants hanging low on his hips, a layer of sweat visible on his torso.
He looked up, and froze.

For what felt like an eternity, no one talked, looking at each other like a deer caught in headlights. Your throat was dry, unable to talk, your mouth opened and closed without letting out a single sound. The air was thick, your eyes traveling from his red lips to his rising and falling chest.

Jungkook was the first to open his mouth, breaking the silence.

« Y/N, I, eh, didn’t hear you come in. », he said taking a step forward.

« I, eh… », you tried, stepping back, forgeting why you were there in the first place.

« How long have you been here ? », he asked, a hand rubbing his collarbone.

« I- », you started, before your back hit the wall, knocking the air out of your lungs.

Jungkook licked his lips, eyes traveling from your mouth to your eyes.

« You heard me ? », he asked, even if he knew the answer. His breath ghosted over your skin, one hand beside your face on the wall, the other holding your chin.

« Yeah. », you breathed, looking into his eyes, you didn’t know if it was the lack of light but they seemed a shade darker.

The boy licked his lips again, blinked a few times before boldly asking.

« Can I kiss you ? »

And without thinking, you nodded, a sigh leaving your lips when your roommate eagerly kissed you. Jungkook instantly moaned into your mouth, pressing himself against you. His hand detached from the wall, falling to grip your hip.

His soft lips moved against yours, before his tongue licked your bottom lip, asking for entrance, which you immediatly gave. And it was a battle for dominance, Jungkook’s hand left you chin, sneaking under your shirt, eager to feel you skin against his.

His head went to your neck, and you didn’t move, letting him kiss his way down to your collarbone. He was craving to do this since the kitchen accident, your skin looking way too flawless to his liking. And all he wanted to do was to mark you, all over your body.

A sigh ran down from your lips when he found a special spot, and he started sucking on your skin, leaving a purple mark.

Both his hands pushed the fabric of your shirt up, and you got the hint, taking your shirt off. Your arms wrapped around his torso, feeling his skin against yours, you lips founding his neck, but before you could start your torture, he stopped you.

« Y/N, don’t tease. », he breathed. And god, he sounded so needy, out of breath and you only kissed his neck, you wondered how wrecked he would be after you’re done with him.

Seeing that you didn’t respond, Jungkook pressed himself against you, making you feel his boner, and he was hard.

Your lips went back to the base of his neck, while your hand traveled down his torso, until you met the hem of his sweatpants.

« Y/N, plea- », he started, getting cut when your hand palmed him through the fabric. His head rolled back, a moan tumbling from his lips.

You liked your lips, watching him in awe, his fingers digging in your waist.

« Don’t tease. », he said through gritted teeth, pulling you closer. His hand grabbed yours, kissing your knuckles to your elbow.

« Jungkook. », you breathed, wrapping you arms around his neck. He hummed, eyelids heavy.
His cheeks were slightly red, lips swollen, and you couldn’t help but kiss him again instand of answering.

He walked you towards his room, lips never leaving yours.

Leaving the lights off, he softly layed you on his bed before towering over you. Your fingers went to the hem of your jean, taking it off.
Jungkook’s hands unclapped your bra, tossing it somewhere, his mouth instantly wrapping around your nipple.

« Jungkook, we don’t have time for that. », you moaned, feeling the uncomfortable wetness starting to form in your underwear. The boy was as eager as you, leaving you breast before almost ripping your panties.

« Fuck, I’m so hard. », he moaned, when you took his sweatpants off. He quickly got up, opening the drawer of  his nightstand to take a condom. He hurriedly opened the package, rolling the condom on his shaft.

You signed when his hands went on either sides of your hand, feeling the heat of his body. Your hand grabbed the back of his head, pulling him towards your lips, kissing him again, never getting enough of the feeling.

He pulled back slightly, a smirk streching his lips.

« Babygirl. », he called, waiting for you to open your eyes. One of his hand grabbed the back of your thigh, placing your leg on his hip.

« Who are you wet for ? », he asked, a devilish smile on his face.

You wanted to slap him, but you needed him, and you breathed.

« You. »

Jungkook almost moaned, his head went back to your neck before entering you. Jungkook groaned, his breath ragged. You arched your back, your nails digging into his shoulders.

« Jungkook, please. », you moaned, and he started rolling his hips in a slow but deep pace. Your head dropped back, you started biting your lip, trying to muffle your moans, but Jungkook noticed.

« Don’t you fucking dare. », he started, thumb tugging at your lip.  « Moan for me or I’ll stop. »

You whined, and Jungkook started slamming back into you. His hand grabbed your hair, pulling at it to expose your neck, and he started biting and sucking on the skin, breathy moans coming from your lips.

Your other leg wrapped around Jungkook’s waist, his dick was hitting a spot making you moan at every thrust. Jungkook was a moaning mess on top of you, his broken whispers transforming into long moans and deep groans.

He was getting closer and closer, but he wanted to make you come first, he needed to see it.

« Are you gonna cum for me ? », Jungkook ask, teeth biting on your lower lip. You could only whine, your hand gripping his hair.

Jungkook’s hips started making deep and slow thrusts, one which was particularly hard, helping you reach your high.

A last moan filled the room, before your came around Jungkook, your eyes closing, mouth falling agape.

Jungkook groaned, feeling your walls tighten around him. « Fuck, such a good girl. », he complimented through gritted teeth, before reaching his climax, softly moaning near your ear, your name falling and falling from his lips as he came in the condom.

He collapsed on top of you, the both of you trying to catch your breath, bodies sweaty.

Jungkook chukled,« Sorry for the dress. »

Haunting Me (Chap. 2)

A/N: eeeeek! chapter 2 is here and it gets wild as heck guys! This chapter was so freakin’ fun to write, I kind of remixed the whole winter soldier movie plot to fit this in just right and I hope you guys like it! ENJOY! - Delilah ❤️

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x POC Reader

Haunting Me: Y/N is a normal young adult living in New York, but little does she know that she’s a reincarnation of the long lost Bucky Barnes’ fiance from the 1940′s. What happens when she runs into Steve in 2012? Most importantly, what happens when she runs into The Winter Soldier?

Warnings: Violence. Angst. Some people get shot. Kidnapping. Feels.

You sat in the backseat of Natasha’s Porsche, listening as Steve explained the plan to you.

It wasn’t very thorough as you imagined it would be, but it was way better than Sam’s plan, which was to get Tony Stark involved. Apparently, this was a super top secret mission, one the millionaire had no business knowing about. You rolled your eyes as Steve explained to you that you would leave the minute the fighting started.

“I don’t see why,” Natasha chimed in, smirking over at Steve. “She’s a big girl.”

“Last I checked everyone in this car had military training except for Y/N.” He pressed, buckling the buckle on his helmet.

You scoffed; you were more than capable of handling your own, but as much as you hated to admit, this Winter Soldier had the same serum as Steve. Which meant he could probably break you in half with minimal to no effort. You liked being able to walk, thank you very much.

You gazed out of the window next to you, watching the scenery go by with each turn. Steve was doing better, which put you at ease for now. You still had no idea what would happen once the four of you arrived at the base. You were beyond concerned now.

You looked back over to Steve, who was preoccupied by the shield in his hands, fiddling with it anxiously. When you turned back around, you were met with a pair of black goggles and a heavily masked face.

Before you could scream, the man brought his fist forward and busted through the window.

Natasha swerved erratically, trying to avoid the many cars in front of her as the man began punching holes through the roof of the car. You screamed when you felt a metal hand grab ahold of your shirt and tug forcefully, ripping the material.

“Y/N!” Steve exclaimed, his eyes wide with fear.

Natasha slammed on the breaks, causing the man to fly off the hood and tumble onto the concrete.

“Everybody out!” she screamed, gathering her pistols. You exited the car, holding the small pistol in your hand. You’ve never shot a gun before, and you were mentally kicking yourself for never asking Steve to teach you. Sam expanded his wings and began soaring into the air towards the masked man.

You watched as Natasha and Steve sprinted towards the man, dodging the spray of bullets gracefully. You, on the other hand, ducked behind a car and aimed your pistol.

“It’s not that hard, right?” you whispered to yourself, your legs trembling as you closed one of your eyes and aligned the barrel of the gun with the man’s head. “It’s just like Call of Duty!” you laughed nervously.

One of the hydra agents pulled out a missile launcher and aimed it right at the car. Steve immediately ran towards you, holding his shield in his front of him. The missile hit the shield directly, sending him flying over the edge of the bride. Once you saw Natasha get hit violently by the man’s metal arm, sending her flying into the side of a car, you closed your eyes.

And you fired.

When you opened them again, the masked man was on the ground. You perked up from behind the car, your eyes wide with shock and your mouth turned upward into a triumphant grin. You felt your heart beating wildly in your chest as you stared at the man from afar. Your smile faded as soon as you saw the man moving.

He sat up, rolling onto his hands and knees, before standing up completely. From where you stood, you could see the bullet lodged in the lense of his goggles that were shielding his eyes.

Uh oh.

You backed away slowly as he glared at you. His eyes focused on yours, taking in your features. His head slowly cocked to the side as he stared you down. You stood frozen in the middle of the street, completely unsure what to do.

“Cолдат!” Soldier!

The hydra agent behind him shouted at him angrily in Russian, aiming his own gun at you as well. You felt your heart skipping beats in your chest as you watched the man approach the soldier.

Fucking shit!” you cursed, taking a step back.

Instantly, the man’s eyes widened at the sound of your voice. His eyes became frantic, his breaths came out in short, rapid huffs. He shook his head, as if to rid himself of some evil-like thoughts. The gun in his hand dropped to the ground as he clutched his head.

“Солдат, закончи свою миссию!” Soldier, finish your mission!

You watched in horror as the masked man unsheathed a black blade and in one move, slit the man’s throat. He turned back around, staring at you with his dead eyes.

And began walking towards you.

The bullets barely missed your head as you sprinted down the sidewalk.

You scurried around the many panicked people as they ran beside you. The bullets hit multiple people around you, but thankfully, they managed to miss you every single time. You made a sharp turn down a dark alley, hoping he’d get distracted for a moment.

As you ran, you could hear the faint footsteps growing closer and closer. You huffed, feeling your sides begin to ache from the sprinting, but you refused to slow down.

You were almost to the end of the alley, when you felt a pair of hands wrap around your waist and haul you back into the alley. You began screaming, kicking everywhere you could with all your might. He managed to get you far enough away from the street before spinning you around and planting a hard slap onto your face.

You cried out, feeling your cheek burn from the harsh contact. Blinking through the tears, you noticed the man was staring at you oddly once again. You watched as his head cocked to the side, his gaze set on the tears running down your face.

Realizing he was distracted, you swung your fist into his face as hard as you could.

Big mistake.

His head jerked back violently and you watched as the black mask flew from his face and landed onto the concrete with a small plop.

He turned around and you were hit with the strongest sensation of déjà vu.

You swore up and down on everything you own, that you’ve seen this man before. You didn’t know how or when or where, but you’ve seen him.

He was gorgeous. Really gorgeous. You probably would’ve developed a small crush on him if he weren’t a raging psychopath and trying to murder you and your friends.

Who the hell are you?” he spat, his eyes wild with fear. They burned into your fearful ones as you stared back, your mouth hanging open. With a deep breath, you brought your leg up to his ribs and kicked with all your might.

He grunted, jolting back from the force of your kick. But to your dismay, you didn’t do any kind of damage. His grip on your wrist tightened painfully, you cried out as you felt your wrist seering with pain.

His eyes dilated, his brows furrowed as he scowled. In one move, he launched his fist forward, hitting you directly in the face.

Then everything went black.

When you woke, the only thing you could hear was silence and the soft sounds of what sounded like a metal clinking together.

You opened your eyes, wincing at the brightness of the light above you. Especially the ache in your eye. You blinked, trying to fully comprehend what had just happened, most importantly, where the hell you were.

“Who are you?” a deep voice pulled you from your thoughts.

It came out more of a demand. His voice was completely monotone, but still deep with authority. There he was, The Winter Soldier. The man who punched your lights out a while ago. Steve’s best friend, only, he didn’t look friendly at all.

He looked terrifying. You peered around the room, taking in your surroundings. Somehow, he managed to take you to a shady little motel. From what you could peek from under the blinds as you lie on the bed, you were far from New York. The familiar sounds of traffic and civilians passing by was completely gone, leaving you in eerie silence instead.

“Are you fucking deaf?” he spat, his face twisting into a scowl. You shook your head, feeling the tears pooling in your eyes. You were trembling as well.

“N-No,” you answered timidly.

“Then answer my damn question. Who are you?”

“I’m Y/N,” you replied, feeling the tears running down your face. “Y/N Y/L/N.”

He stared off into the distance, as if he were processing the information in his head. Was he really a human computer like Sam said? You were terrified as it was, but being around a terminator was even more horrific. You waited for him to ask another question, but it never came. Instead, he leaned back into his chair, placing the pistol back onto the table.

“Are you going to kill me?” you heard yourself ask. Immediately, you shut your mouth. Why would you give him the idea? From what you knew, he was crazy, probably from all the brainwashing.

His blue eyes flickered back over to you, and you swore by everything, you saw them soften momentarily before they were back at to their original coldness from before.

“Are you going to hurt me?” you asked, this time with more volume in your voice. Immediately, he stood from the chair and you jumped, backing away as far as you were allowed. He slowly made his way over to you, his dark gaze burning into your teary eyes in a predatory manner. You flinched as he sat beside your legs.

“The man on the bridge,” he spoke, his voice still in the same nonchalant tone. “Who was he?”

“His name is Steve,” you answered, watching his expression change. “Steve Rogers, he was your best friend since childhood.”

He didn’t respond, instead, he ran his hands over his face. You watched as he ran his fingers through his long, dark hair. Despite being insane, he was extremely handsome, you’d give him that. His jawline looked like it could cut glass, and those eyes. They were twice as blue as Steve’s, twice as beautiful, too.

You pulled yourself out of your thoughts, mentally scolding yourself. This man was probably going to kill you, maybe after he did god knows what with you before, yet here you were ogling over him like some A list celebrity.

He turned towards you, his face set in a frown.

“I knew him,” he admitted, his eyes full of a mixture of confusion and hurt. “I knew him a long time ago.” You nodded, your heart thumping wildly in your chest. Why were you acting this way?

“But you…” He whispered, staring into your eyes fiercely.

“I knew you, too.”

“You’re My It” Dean Winchester x Reader

Word Count: 1,475

Dean Winchester x Reader

Request:  Could you write one (or more) about Dean? Where the reader is Dean’s ex but she got pregnant before the broke up. And Sam or Cas see her and the kid one day and tell Dean, who gets drunk and shows up at her door (with a little help from sweet Cas)?

Warnings: Angst, fluff

Flashbacks are in italics.

You and Dean had officially been together for a year now, but unofficially, it’d been almost your entire life. You were Bobby’s daughter- you grew up together. There had always been something there.

A few years ago, when Dean was cured from being a demon, you were the first person he wanted to tell. That made him realize that he didn’t want to wait any longer. He wanted to be with you one hundred percent. He loved you. He had asked you to be his girlfriend officially last year.

You’re now standing in your kitchen, finishing up making dinner for your one year anniversary. It’s been a rocky road, and lately, it’s been worse. He’s been distant and gone more, and you admit that you’d grown more emotional and needy. It’s only because you’re pregnant, but Dean doesn’t know that yet. You’re planning on telling him tonight. All you want is a good night with your boyfriend, is that too hard to ask for?

No, it’s not. Which is why you’re busting your ass to make this anniversary perfect. You’re making his favorite dinner, rented his favorite movie, and even found the cutest way to announce your pregnancy. You’re sure he’ll take it well, and that he’ll be excited. His dad was a big part of his life, and one time when he got drunk he had told you that whenever he became a dad he was determined to be a better one.

“Y/N?” A voice came through the door, keys clinking together. Dean’s home.

“Hey babe, I’m in the kitchen!” You call out.

Dean comes into the kitchen, and he looks dead tired. You can see it in his eyes- he’s worn out. He’s stressed, but of course he doesn’t talk to you about it. He doesn’t talk to you about anything lately.

“Is this all for me?” His eyes widen, wandering around the room.

“Yeah, happy one year.” You kiss his cheek.

“Oh.” He furrows his brows. Your stomach sinks. Of course he forgot.

“You seriously forgot?” Your mouth drops a little, sadness filling your heart.

“I’m sorry.” He sighs. “Look, Y/N…”

“What?” You’re afraid of what he’s going to say. You’ve been feeling it coming for a while, you’ll admit. But now? Tonight? All you can do is hope that he doesn’t.

“I just… I don’t think this, us, is working. You know I love you, but I just think we need some time apart. There’s a lot of shit happening right now, with Lucifer and Chuck and Amara, I just… I can’t. I’m sorry.” Dean says, a look in his eyes you can’t quite read.

You’re silent. There it was. Those words you’ve been dreading.

“Okay.” You say quietly.

“I love you. I just need time.” Dean repeated.

-

You’re now walking down the street of the mall, you’re favorite place to go. The mall in Denver was outside, which made it easier to not only enjoy the warm weather, but to push around baby Nina. She loved going on “walks,” which made it easy for you since you loved shopping.

After Dean broke up with you two years ago, you didn’t even bother telling him you were pregnant. If he was too stressed and busy to deal with you, the girl who’d practically been with him his entire life, he certainly couldn’t handle a baby. So, after you moved out of the bunker, you packed up and moved to a city you’d never even been to before- Denver. You moved into a small apartment, and got a decent job.

Baby Nina is now a year old, and she’s the cutest little thing. She inherited Dean’s looks, right down to the sparking green eyes. She’s beautiful.

You’re about to go into Victoria’s Secret when you see a man down the street staring at you intensely. He has brown hair and a…trench coat?

“Cas?” You say out, not believing your eyes. You haven’t seen Cas since who knows how long. It was before yours and Dean’s breakup, since he was possessed by Lucifer. Actually, now that you think of it, you have no idea how that turned out. He could still be Lucifer for all you know.

Cas is suddenly standing beside you, an unreadable expression on his face. You can tell by just looking at him that this was Cas, and not Lucifer.

“Oh my god, I’ve missed you.” You hug him. He stands stiff, but wraps one arm around you after a few minutes.

“Who is this?” Cas looks down at the stroller at Nina, who is now sleeping peacefully.

“Oh. This…” You trail off. There’s no point in lying. “This is my daughter.”

“And she’s Dean’s?”

“Please don’t tell him.” You beg. “He left, it was his choice. He left me.”

“Y/N…”

“Cas, promise me.”

“I… I promise.” Cas sighs.

-

After the encounter with Castiel, you went back to your apartment quickly. That blast into the past was enough for you for the day. It brought back memories you thought you had put behind you.

Nina had just fallen asleep in her crib for the night, so you were finally free to do whatever. You walk into your kitchen, grabbing a beer out of the fridge. God knows you need one. You walk over to your living room, turning on the TV to watch whatever was on. Anything would do right now, you just wanted to escape your mind.

You were getting really into the trashy reality TV show that was playing when it happened. He showed up. There was a knocking on the door, and you didn’t even bother to look through the peephole. It was probably just your landlord.

You opened the door, and there he was. Dean. You hadn’t seen him since that night. He hasn’t aged one bit, if anything, he looks better. He looks younger, less stressed than he was before. He looked amazing. Of course he did. He’s Dean.

“Cas ratted me out, didn’t he?” You were the first to speak.

“Can I meet her?” He says quietly. You nodded, and let him inside.

You walk him into her bedroom, and he audibly gasps when he sees her. He walks slowly over to her crib, as if he walked any faster a bomb would go off. He takes her hand in his, and a soft smile grows on his face.

“She looks like me.” He whispers. It was dark in the room, but you could swear you saw a tear fall down his cheek.

“I’m gonna… I’m gonna give you some time.” Your voice comes out shakier than you were wanting, and you exit the room. You walk over to your couch, and sit down shakily. You have no idea what you’re going to tell him.

A few minutes later, Dean comes out of her bedroom. He looks hurt.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” He says, sitting down next to you on the couch.

“I was going to. The night you left me.” You whisper. “But then after that… You couldn’t handle being a father. You were dealing with Amara, for God’s sake.”

“I’m so sorry.” He says, taking you by surprise. Why was he sorry? “I shouldn’t have done that. I let everything that was happening leak into my relationship with you. I messed up. This is all my fault. And now I have a daughter that I don’t even know because of it.” He choked out.

“Dean, its fine. I was mad at first, but seriously, I’ve let it go. I understand now.” You say truthfully.

“Y/N, I still love you, you know that right?” Dean says, a serious look on his face. “After everything was fixed, you were the one person I wanted to come to. But I thought that I couldn’t. I couldn’t face you, not after what I did. I’m hurting, Y/N, I need you. I need to be there for Nina.”

“Dean…”

“I love you so much. You’re it- you’re it for me. You and Nina. You’re my life now. Please, let me be here for you. If you can ever forgive me.”

“I forgave you a long time ago.” A weak smile on your face forms. “I love you too.”

Dean kisses you, so softly that you almost thought your mind was playing tricks on you. You bring your hands around his head, bringing him in closer. You missed this, you missed him.

“You’re my it, too, Dean.”

The Birds and the Bees (Jughead x Reader)

Imagine: You’re hopelessly in love with your boyfriend, Jughead Jones. When the subject of physical intimacy comes up one day with your best friends, you find yourself afraid and in doubt.

Saturdays were one of your favorite days of the week.

Veronica would pull up in her luxury car and take you and Betty to the Galleria outside of town. You both would follow her around as she surveyed the newest imports and replenished her gorgeous wardrobe, talking and laughing the whole time. The wares of the Galleria were far above anything you could ever afford with your minimum-wage income, but you adored the two girls you would spend the day with.

Veronica always had the best gossip. Mostly passed along from Kevin, who refused to join (”I will not play into that gay stereotype!”), Veronica always had stories ranging from the scary to the scandalous to the just plain hilarious.

“And the cross-country team caught her getting it up the ass on a stump in the woods!” Veronica said, laughing over her kale smoothie.

“Ronnie!” Betty scolded, face red. You could tell she was suppressing laughter as well, sipping on her strawberry smoothie.

Anyway,” Veronica said, slapping her hands on the patio table in finality. “What about you, (Y/N)?” She grinned devilishly.

“Got any good sex stories yet?”

There’s a Fine, Fine Line

Jughead x Reader

The Reader and Jughead have a complicated relationship. Based on the requested song: 7 Things by Miley Cyrus

Warning: some swearing

Word count: 2,562

A/N: I know the request wanted it focused on one line and I tried I really did but the other parts were too cute once I started writing I’m sorry I hope you like it still. Also PS  It would have helped if Miley would have numbered the seven things because like I swear i was counting like 9 things at one point in my childhood. Also speaking of childhood the flashback actually happened to me let’s all relive my worst middle school memory yay.

You make me laugh, you make me cry

I don’t know which side to buy

There’s a thin line between love and hate. Jughead Jones rides that line with you, and it frustrates you to no end.

You had been ‘friends’ with him since you can remember, now only hanging out when Archie and Betty are there. You didn’t hate him at first, in fact, when you were a kid you had a crush on him for what seemed like the longest time.

At the 8th grade dance, you even asked him to dance. You remember what happened vividly, almost like a movie.

A short blue dress, black flats, and a braid down your back. Your makeup is done to perfection, and you feel on top of the world. Betty meets up with you at your place before the dance, her dress is a short milky white with a black necklace and earrings. Her blonde hair  tied up in a bun, a few strands hanging down in a perfect messy kind of way.

“Wow.” you say.

“Do you think Archie will like it?” she asks, going to your mirror and fiddling with the hem of her dress.

“If he doesn’t I will punch him.” You say with a small giggle.

“Thanks.” She smiles in return.

A car horn beeps from outside and you both jump up. It was Archie and his dad. They were going to drive you there.

You both race down the stairs and out the door, tickets in hand.

Archie sits up front, and so you both open the door and get in the back.

“There are my girls.” He says with a smile. All of you, plus Jughead, have been an inseparable crew since the beginning of time, and it all seems to work. You like Jug, Betty likes Archie, Archie and Jug are best friends, and you and Betty are best friends. It all just works.

You arrive at the dance and meet up with Jug, going to the dance floor to sway and jump the night away at your last dance of middle school. Half way through the night a slow song begins to play.

Archie smiles as you see him searching for Betty, and Jughead goes to the side of the dance floor. It didn’t look like he was going to ask someone.

Betty seems to have disappeared, probably to the bathroom, and before you know it Archie has come up beside you and has asked you to dance.

You say yes, of course. Archie was your friend, and you know nothing could ever come out of it. He is just a friend, this is a friend dance. People do that right?

His hands are on your hips and your hands around his neck. You can’t seem to look him in the eyes. You didn’t want to see him looking at you, as this should be Betty’s dance.

Soon, one slow song ends, and yet another begins. You thank Archie, as you see Betty coming back from the bathroom, and almost immediately he makes his way to her. He is just being nice, wanting to dance with both of us on our last 8th grade dance.

You search out Jughead on the side of the dance floor, finding him walking out of the room. His body seems tense, like he wants to leave.

You approach him, trying to chase after him.

“Juggie!” you say, touching his shoulder.

He stops and turns around.

“I don’t like you, (Y/N).” he says plainly.

A pain shoots through your body. The boy you had liked since the 2nd grade was standing before you, one of your very good friends, saying that they didn’t like you.

He turns around again and storms off, before you can ask what exactly he means. Did he mean that he doesn’t like like you? Or does he mean that he just doesn’t like you in general? Does he not like you as a person?

Your head spins as you go out to the hallway, sitting against the wall in your dress and braid, putting your head into your knees as you take deep breaths, already trying to deny what just happened.

That was only two years ago. After thinking about it over and over again, you came to the conclusion that he meant that he didn’t like you in general. It was a painful discovery, but it was one you learned to deal with, and one you’re still dealing with to this day.

You seem to only tolerate each other now, never speaking outside of when you hang out with all four of you. Like today.

You aren’t entirely sure what the plans are, but you just know that he will be there. You take the whole day to mentally prepare yourself before texting Betty.

‘what’s the plan?’ you send.

‘Pop’s, then a movie at Archie’s place.’ she replies.

You respond with a smiley face emoji, and as the last bell rings you pull your hoodie up over your head and walk to the diner.

They’re at the normal booth when you get there, Jughead on his laptop, a space open across from him. You scoot in across Archie, taking your spot and ordering a milkshake.

“How was your day?” Archie asks.

“The usual.” you say, shrugging your shoulders, “I went to Geometry class, my calculator died, and continued to spiral into the torturous hell of triangles.”

Your friends chuckle, but Jughead only raises his eyebrows.

“Are you sure that’s not just high school in general?” Jughead smirks, causing even more laughs from Betty and Archie. Oddly enough, you can’t help but crack a smile yourself.

Your friends they’re jerks

And when you act like them, just know it hurts

Jughead doesn’t have many friends he hangs out with besides you and Betty and Archie, but the ones he did have weren’t the kind of people you would think.

He basically lives at the Drive-In, and you can’t help but notice that some of the Southside Serpents are starting to hang out around there.

Okay, so technically you can’t exactly call them Jug’s ‘friends.’ They more are just forced to hang out around each other because of a common interest, but he’s still starting to pick up on some things that weren’t exactly desirable.

He’s late all the time, cancelling plans all of a sudden, not telling even Archie where he is or how he’s been. He’s dropped off the face of the planet, you actually haven’t seen him in a few months, and neither has Archie, and you can tell it’s taken a toll on him. Even you were starting to worry about him.

On your walk home from school you decide to take a different route. You had to cut through a few yards and walk down a trail through the woods at the back of your house, but the day was beautiful and you couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see the leaves change.

You see a figure sitting on a bench with a big backpack on the path, and only when you get closer do you notice the familiar beanie. It’s over his eyes, like he’s sleeping.

“Jughead?”

“(Y/N)?” he jumps, nearly falling over. He lands in the leaves on the ground, his beanie falling off on the path. He straightens himself up, quickly grabbing his signature hat and putting it back on his black locks.

“Where have you been?” you ask, putting your hands on your hips.

“Around.” He says, putting his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt.

Really?” you raise your eyebrows, challenging him to tell you more.

“Yeah.” he responds, not taking the bait.

“Well Archie is worried half to death, so is Betty. You should probably talk to them.” You say, deflecting the conversation away from how you might be affected. You cross your arms and shuffle your feet on the path, causing some gravel to kick up and roll towards his feet.

“I have been. It’s only been like a week since I saw you guys anyway.” he shrugs.

You look up. Did he not realize how long he’s been gone? “It’s been two months, Jughead.” you tell him.

“Oh…really?” he raises his eyebrows this time, genuinely confused as to how that amount of time has passed.

“Yes. Please explain.” You state simply, looking at him.

“Why would I tell you?” he smirks, scoffing at the implication of telling me.

“Okay, whatever.” you brush it off. You are used to this by now, “Just please tell Archie about whatever this is.” you say, giving him a look up and down.

“What does that mean?” he challenges.

“You don’t think I don’t notice? You hanging out with all the serpents at the drive-in?” now it was your turn to raise your eyebrows at him.

He looks shocked, and doesn’t say a word.
“They’re making you a different person.” you tell him, walking away.

“Wait,” he says before you get too far.

“What?” you say, spinning on your heels and turning to face him again.

“I’m not hanging out with them.” he tells you, his eyes to the ground.

“Really? That’s what it looks like. And it hurts Archie, and Betty and it hurts-” you stop yourself from saying it hurts you. You’re too busy trying to pry it out of him you don’t notice that he’s looking at you now.

“Hurts what?” he probes.

“It hurts the relationship you have with them.” you cover for yourself.

It’s silent for a minute, you now meeting his gaze.

“Come with me.” he sighs, picking up his backpack and walking in the direction opposite of where you were going initially.

You didn’t argue, though.

Maybe today will be different, maybe today he’s decided not to hate you.

And the 7th thing I hate the most that you do

You make me love you

He leads you to the Drive-in, going to the back room.

He opens the door, leading you into a room with a mattress on the floor, a mirror on the wall, and some clothes and posters tossed carelessly around the space.

You instantly realize, that’s why he’s been spending so much time here. He lives here. This is his home, and nobody noticed it. Not even Archie knew.

“Jughead, why didn’t you come to any of us?” you finally ask, looking around the room, walking to the center.

“I can take care of myself.” he says simply.

“The thing is, you don’t have to. You have Archie, and Betty, and..me.” you say, looking him dead in the eyes.

“Really? Cause last time I checked you seem to hate me.” he takes his hands out of his sweatshirt, taking a few steps toward you.

“I’ve never hated you, Juggie.” you say, not breaking eye contact.

“Don’t,” he takes a breath,  “call me that.” His voice is rough and deep, pointing at me with every word. His eyes are flaring, yet stone cold. He is angry at something or someone, you can’t tell.

“I don’t know what I ever did to make you hate me, but I know I sure as hell wasn’t the one who started this.” you say, throwing your hands up in defeat, waiting for a response.

All he does is scoff.

“Fine, have fun being alone, but don’t say I never tried.” you say, pushing past him and making your way towards the door to leave.

“Tried? You’ve barely given me the time of day.” You turn around at this, walking back over to him.
“The only reason I haven’t is because you said you didn’t like me.” You tell him.

“Why would I say something like that?” he gets defensive.

“Don’t act like you don’t remember.” you scoff now, folding your arms once more and rolling your eyes.

He just stares at you.

“You don’t like me, I get it. I’ve moved on with my life. I’ve accepted it. You’ve never liked me.” you say, wanting the conversation to be over.

“I don’t think you do get it.” he says, looking down at his feet.

“Then tell me what I’m missing.”

“The way he looks at you. The way he smiles when you walk in the room. His attention, devoted to you.” he looks at you again, trying to meet your eyes.

“What? What are you talking about?” you ask, confused as ever.

“Archie! It’s clear he likes you. He has since 8th grade. I wasn’t stupid, (Y/N), I saw you dancing with him.” he nearly screams.

“Wait.. what?”

“He only had eyes for you.” He says, hurt now behind his eyes.

“Oh my god.” You put your hand to your head, bringing it down over your eyes. You can’t help but crack a smile and let out a little laugh at how fucked up the situation is. It’s been so muddled and there’s been so much miscommunication.

“What?” he says, his face a mix of confusion and sadness and still some anger.

“Jug, I like you.” You say without thinking.

“What?” he asks.

“He asked me to dance because Betty was in the bathroom. I thought he wanted to dance with her.” you ramble, not realize what he’s asking.

“No, no. What did you just say?”

You pause a moment, just hitting you that you just admitted that you liked him, that you still like him. He obviously heard it, there was no turning back now.

“I- I like you, Jug. I always have.” you let out with a sigh, unable to look at him.

You’re afraid of what he’s going to say, bracing yourself for another rejection. Instead, you feel his hand going to the back of your neck as he pulls you close, placing a kiss on your lips. It was sweet, and simple, a thousand words said in just one touch.

“I’m so sorry.” he whispers against your lips as you break apart, keeping your foreheads together.

“For what?”

“For saying I didn’t like you. When I saw you guys I got so mad, and when you came up to me afterwards it was the only thing I could think of. I was… well, I was in middle school.” he lets out a small laugh, unable to find another explanation.

“It’s okay, we both were.” you come back, letting out a small laugh as well.

He takes a small step back from you, brushing the hair out of your face with his fingers, but you can still feel the heavy weight in the air, a mix of your heavy breathing and the anticipation of what could happen next.

“I hate this.” Jughead breaks the silence, and you’re unable to read his expression.

You pause. The memory flashing in your mind. This was going to be a repeat of middle school, you could feel it.

“Hate what?” you ask this time.

“I hate that you make my stomach tie in knots, I hate what your smile does to my heart. I hate that I’ve liked you for such a long time, and I’ve been too blind to see that you liked me back.”

“There’s a fine, fine line between love and hate, Jughead,” you say, “you just have to decide which side to be on.”

“Then I don’t just like you, (Y/N),” he says. You can feel yourself stop breathing.

“I love you.”

I don't really have any prompts, but if you look up the Jamilton tag on @midnigtartist's blog, you might get a few ideas! Aimee is complete Jamilton trash, loves the heck outta them

I did just that! The prompt/feeling I got from that is “Jefferson actually likes kids and takes care of Philip for a day when Hamilton loses track of him, causing Hamilton’s entire view of Jefferson as a person to shift”

@midnigtartist Happy birthday! I was already writing this before I learned it was your birthday, but I hope you enjoy it regardless! You’re art is great! Also, I sent you an ask about this but severely underestimated the size of your inbox. If/when you see the anon that sounds suspiciously like this post, feel free to ignore it!

As much as he’d like it to be the case, Thomas did not at first recognize the kid loitering around the office. He did however, recognize that the kid couldn’t be more than 10 years old, if that- and was therefore too young to be standing around anywhere, never mind outside the ‘Washington and Associates’ law firm.

It wasn’t quite time to pack up, but Thomas figured this was more important. Plus, no one else was dealing with it, or even noticing. He saved his work, and stood up.

“Leaving early?” James poked his head up, at Thomas’ movement.

“There’s a kid hanging around outside, it’s distracting,” Thomas explained. James peeked out the window, furrowed his brows, and nodded.

“Don’t take too long,” James reminded, turning back to his work. Thomas rolled his eyes and nodded, even though he knew James’ attention was already back to his work.

The kid jumped when Thomas opened the door, immediately turning around and looking down as if he just happened to be standing there. It wasn’t very convincing.

“Hi,” Thomas pitched his voice, warmer and completely devoid of his usual sarcastic drawl. “You’ve been standing out here for a while, is there anything I can help you with?” Up close, the kid was even smaller. The parents had better be nearby, or Thomas would be having words.

“Uhh,” The kid’s head bobbed up, then straight down, his mass of curls hiding his face. Thomas felt his heart thaw, just a bit- the kid was just shy. Which was fair, given Thomas was a tall, mysterious stranger. Even adults tended to be intimidated. Thomas leaned down, dropping to the kid’s level.

“That’s okay,” Thomas tried to put the kid at ease. “Could you tell me where your parents are, so we can find them?”

“Umm,” The kid started again, but this time he brushed his hair behind an ear and glanced up to Thomas’ chin. “Mom’s at her home, I’m s'posed to be with Dad this week, and he’s s'posed to be here. I think.” He nervously glanced up at the building. “There’s only one Washington law place, right?”

Ah, a divorced kid. “Yes, as far as I’m aware, this is the only Washington law place,” Thomas didn’t want to correct the kid and possibly confuse him. Still, he couldn’t stop an amused smile at the term ‘law place’. “Can you tell me your Dad’s name?”

The kid froze, paling instantly. “U-uh, it’s my Dad, um…” He started shaking. Crap.

Thomas thought quickly. “It’s okay, it’s okay!” He smiled wide, waving his hand in what he hoped was more comforting than dismissive, though he used it in the latter sense far more often. “Could you tell me your name, instead?”

“Oh!”, the kid grinned. “My name’s Philip Hamilton! I’m 8 years old!” Thomas nearly flinched. There was only one Hamilton who worked at Washington’s, and there was no way this was a coincidence. He should have guessed- Hamilton’s divorce was well known in lawyer circles, and now that he was looking for it, the kid’s face bore some resemblance. Standing in front of Thomas was his biggest work rival’s son.

There wasn’t anything for it, though. Thomas was hardly going to just leave the kid out here. “Nice to meet you, Philip. I work with your Dad. My name’s Thomas Jefferson.”

Philip’s eyes lit up in recognition. Thomas had just enough time to worry about what exactly the kid was recognizing. “Jefferson? Dad mentions you all the time! He says you’re really distracting!”

Distracting, huh? Not 'evil’, not 'idiotic’; nor any of the other insults Hamilton would shout to his face? Not even 'bad man’, if he wanted to soften it to his kid? Thomas itched to ply Philip for answers, for what Hamilton really thought; but it was the middle of winter and now was not the time.

“How about we wait inside for your Dad, and you tell me what you’re doing out here?” Thomas spoke cautiously, not sure how Philip would react to being asked to go somewhere with a relative stranger.

Strangely though, Philip’s shyness went straight out the window after his introduction. “Oh! That’s because Dad promised me this time, for real promised, that he’d get off work on time and take me to see a movie! I wanted to make sure he really would, so I looked up 'Washington law’ on google and bussed here all by myself!” Thomas led the way to the building as Philip chattered, small hand immediately latching onto Thomas’ fingers.

“That’s very cool!” Thomas enthused, opening the door and immediately shooting a glare at every person who stared. “Now, your Dad’s out now, the boss sent him to the courthouse to drop something off, but we can wait for him, alright?”

Philip beamed. “Alright! This place looks even cooler than I thought!” He was so enthusiastic, that Thomas couldn’t help but smile back. Hamilton would still be getting an earful, being so unreliable that his 8 year old child felt the need to escape his babysitter and bus through the middle of town to check up on him. Hell, did he even have a babysitter?

Thomas’ work was left, forgotten on his desk. James would clean up for him, this was more important. “What do you say to meeting your Dad’s boss?” He needed to at least explain the situation, after all.

“Mr. Washington? Yeah! Dad says he’s too nosy, and Mom says he’s basically like my second grandpa, even though I’ve never met him before.”

Thomas couldn’t stop the chuckle if he tried. “Did he? You’ll have to tell me more, later.” He joked, but Philip nodded anyways. This was far better than finishing his work.

Alex was determined to keep his promise, for real this time. He was not staying late, and if possible, he would even be home early. Washington owed it to him, for all that free overtime.

Unfortunately, all the owing in the world meant nothing when Washington ordered him to take some important documents to the courthouse, a good half hour away, when the day was nearly over. Alex could never say no to a direct request like that, even if Washington probably would have relented if he explained his circumstances.

No, he could do this and still be out on time, if he drove straight to Philip’s school, instead of back to the firm, first. Alex did so, driving as fast as he reasonably could.

Only, when he did that, Philip had already left, instead of waiting for him. In fact, he had left for the washroom in the last hour of class, and never returned, according to the teacher. Alex barely spared the time to chew them out for not keeping a better headcount, and then he was running off to his car and to home.

Philip wasn’t at home either. Alex started panicking in earnest. He could be anywhere, but why would he? Philip was so excited about going to see the movie, he wouldn’t have just run off today of all days, would he? But he alternative- if Philip hadn’t purposefully run off himself- was far worse. Alex started by doing circles of the neighbourhood, then the local parks.

Alex was focused; so focused that his phone remained in his pocket, battery dead before he’d even realized Philip was missing.

It must have been hours later, the sun starting to set, when Alex finally gave up. He had panicked somewhere early down the line, and never quite stopped. His limbs were shaking. Alex had lost his son.

He didn’t want to even think about the phone call he would have to make to Eliza. But first, he’d check the house again, just in case. Alex wasn’t holding out much hope at this point.

Alex was just stressed enough to miss the strange car behind his in the driveway. He was not, however, too stressed to notice two people sitting in his living room.

“Hamilton, about time!” Jefferson waved his arms enthusiastically, though something sharp glinted in his eyes. Alex’s brain stuttered for a moment at the sight of his coworker/rival relaxing in his home, but then Philip was bounding into his arms.

“Dad! Where the heck where you? Mr. Jefferson’s called you like, a million times!”

“Wha- Philip, where have you been? You weren’t at school, the teachers told me you disappeared, you weren’t at home, I’ve been worried sick, looking for you!” Harsh, panicked words spilled from Alex’s mouth, even as he seized his son in a fierce hug. “Don’t scare me like that!”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” Philip hugged back tight, voice suddenly subdued and guilty. “I just wanted to find you at work, so you’d actually go on time.”

Alex loosened his hug so that he could face Philip directly. “Wait, you what-?” Alex cut himself off, remembering the other person in the room. “Jefferson, why the fu-heck are you here?” Philip’s head poked up at Alex’s accusatory tone, brows furrowing in confusion.

“Nice save,” Jefferson smirked, always as irritating as possible. “Also, is that really the way you want to be speaking to the guy who’s been watching your kid all evening? When I could have been doing anything else with my time?”

There was no reason for Jefferson to be lying. In fact, that answer made the most sense, given that Jefferson had literally been in his home, watching Philip, when Alex got in there. Still though, this was Jefferson. Instinctive denial surged in his chest. “Excuse me-”

“I’m sorry!” Philip shouted again, lip trembling. He wasn’t looking at Alex though, instead facing Jefferson. “I didn’t mean to waste your day!”

Alex’s blood ran cold. That was exactly the opening one could never make to Jefferson- he could never hold back his infuriating sarcastic comments. He was going open his mouth and spout some negative bullshit that would make Philip cry, because Jefferson was an asshole who didn’t have any kids and probably hated them.

Jefferson did open his mouth, but his eyes were suddenly wide, with surprise and maybe guilt- something Alex had never seen him wear. He scrambled off the couch. “No no, I didn’t mean that, Philip! You’ve been great fun!” Jefferson assured, stepping over to crouch in front of Philip.

Philip looked up at him cautiously. Alex held his breath, completely taken aback. “Really?”, Philip whispered, and Alex could hear the tiny smile working its way into his voice.

“Of course!” Jefferson reached a hand over to ruffle his hair. “I got to read all your poems, and you got to hear all about the silly things your Dad does at work! It’s just that your Dad’s back now, so I should probable get going.” He gave Philip a wide grin, full of warmth and life.

Alex wasn’t sure he’d ever seen Jefferson with a smile like that. It did something to his stomach that he’d rather not analyze.

“No! You gotta stay for supper! We can’t do the movie anymore anyways, right Dad!” Philip bounced back, both emotionally and literally, on the balls of his feet.

Alex opened his mouth, searching for an excuse that wouldn’t upset Philip. Then, he glanced over to Jefferson. He was fidgeting, glancing away awkwardly. With a start, Alex realized he must have actually had fun. Somehow, Jefferson was actually really good with kids, if Philip’s excitement meant anything; and now he was standing there, in Alex’s house, looking more awkward and vulnerable than Alex had ever seen him.

“Yeah… yeah, he can stay. If he wants to.” Alex didn’t even want to guess what his face looked like right now. He wasn’t even sure what his feelings looked like right now. It was all a mess of exposed wires, his entire worldview turned on its head.

Jefferson flinched in surprise for a moment, eyes snapping to Alex. Then, he gauged Alex’s pure, undiluted confusion, and a smile slowly took his face, one that more closely resembled the teasing smirks Alex was used to. Now though, it seemed just a little less aggressive than Alex remembered.

“I suppose I can stay and tell your Dad all about how you skipped your last class, looked up his workplace online, and then bussed there all by yourself without telling anybody.” Jefferson shrugged, nonchalant.

“What! Mr. Jefferson, no!” Philip whined, even as he smiled broadly. “I’m gonna get grounded!”

Jefferson laughed. “Well, whose fault is that? You’re a little troublemaker!”

Philip spouted denials in between giggles. Alex felt his paradigm shift further off axis. “I guess I’ll get started,” Alex said, quiet and distant. He stood up and edged his way to the kitchen. Jefferson and Philip continued to chat in his hallway.

Somewhere between numb and completely unsure of himself, Alex turned the oven on and got out a frozen pizza. He took as much time as he could retrieving the round pan and opening the pizza box. Replaying in his mind was the smile Jefferson had made at Philip. His stomach flipped again.

“Hey,” Jefferson’s voice was calm and subdued, but made Alex jump a foot anyways. “I put the TV on for Philip.” He was right behind Alex, nearly crowding him into the counter. “I assume you want to know what’s been going on? No one’s been on the same page today.”

Alex swallowed. It wasn’t the first time Jefferson had crowded him, Alex had realized over time that it was more a matter of not knowing about personal space, rather than an active bid at intimidation. It was also overwhelming, especially now. “Uh,” Alex started, horrified at the squeak his voice made. “I guess not.”

Jefferson smirked- how could he not?- but relented, backing up a step. “It really wasn’t all that crazy. The kid showed up in the last hour of work, and no one else would do it, so I watched him. Tried to call your phone, I’m assuming it’s dead.” Alex dug into his pocket, pulling out a very dead phone. He paled. “No, it’s fine, it’s done.” Jefferson waved his hand dismissively. “I didn’t- I mean, it wasn’t awful.”

Alex paused at Jefferson’s stutter. His ears were pink. Adorable, Alex thought, then shook it from his mind. “Thank you,” he said instead.

“Uhhh,” Jefferson’s ears turned pinker. “No offense, but that sounds so weird coming from you.” Suddenly, he started laughing. “And I just said 'no offense’, which is even weirder!”

Alex snorted. Giggles stumbled their way between his lips, turning into chuckles, then full blown laughter. “Oh my God,” Alex wheezed, “This is so weird!”

Jefferson was howling right beside him. “I know, right?!”

Their laughs petered off, save for a quiet snicker from the distance. Both their heads whipped around- Philip peeked from the doorway. “Dad hasn’t laughed like that in ages,” He said knowingly. “You guys should hang out more. Hey, can Mr. Jefferson come with us to the movie, next time?”

Alex flushed, his mind stumbling to a stop, not sure if it was from the sheer audacity of the question, or how the idea of going out with Jefferson sounded too much like a date. His only saving grace was that it was probably the last thing Jefferson wanted, anyways. It didn’t matter that the sight of him being so nice to Philip did things to Alex’s heart.

“That sounds nice. If your Dad agrees.” Jefferson gave Philip an indulgent smile, then turned to Alex, question standing.  A quiet blush graced his cheekbones as well. He looked so much more attractive- cute, Alex’s brain supplied- when it was open like this. Usually, Jefferson’s appearance was the only attractive thing about him. Alex realized suddenly that he was gone- had been gone the moment Jefferson had revealed a side of himself that wasn’t pure opposition to everything Alex stood for.

“Alright,” Alex agreed. He needed to see where this was going. He was going to figure Jefferson out, or die trying.

“You remember,” Dean begins conversationally, adjusting his grip on the steering wheel, “when we were young and dad was the one driving? I was never any good at sleeping in the car but as soon as we hit the road, you’d drop off right away against my shoulder in the backseat.

I remember that one winter — you must have been eight or nine… The heating didn’t work and we wrapped ourselves into that god-awful excuse of a blanket. It was so scratchy and stiff and literally did nothing to keep us warm, and you still managed to sleep like a dead person.”

He pauses, glancing over at his brother’s sleeping form. Curled into himself, his breath fogging up the window where he’s got the side of his face pressed against it, he makes the occasional sleep noise and barely even stirs when the car hits a pothole on the uneven road.

Dean can’t stop the smile that’s tugging at his mouth from growing wider so he doesn’t try, giving in to it instead.

It’s too easy to lull himself into a false sense of security. Even if the world is studiously headed for damnation, in these quiet moments, nighttime on the road, nothing to keep Dean company but the engine and his brother’s breathing, it’s easy to have hope. Hope that everything is going to work out after all in the end.

Dean doesn’t believe in fairy tale endings.

so sorry this is super super short!! i hope y'all enjoy

-

you were currently joining your boyfriend shawn on the european leg of his tour. today he was in paris and had a day off before the show tomorrow and he insisted that you two go to disneyland paris for the day.

at first you declined, you knew he was exhausted from playing all those shows and doing press and he really needed to take this day off to sleep. he insisted on taking you, he claimed you never got time alone and he wanted to take advantage of it.

you weren’t sure why shawn wanted to take you to disneyland in the first place, he’s told you multiple times that he wasn’t a big fan of disney movies. but here the two of you were, hand in hand, walking down main street of disneyland paris.

you both were tired considering you walked around disney almost all day, the sun was setting but you dragged shawn to the castle one more time. you wanted to see it one more time because you knew you would probably never see it again.

“y/n,” he whined. “you’ve seen it all day! i’m hungry.”

you snapped a few pictures of the castle and uploaded them to your social medias. you and shawn had been pretty active on social media all day, you basically documented the entire day.

“okay, okay, i’m finished now.” you said, intertwining yours and shawn’s hands and quickly kissing his cheek. “where are we going to eat?”

“some castle thing i made reservations for, it’s back on the other side of the park.” he said, “it’s the theme of some movie but i don’t know which one.”

before you could answer, two girls approached you and shawn asking for a quick picture. he happily took the picture with them, answering the few questions they asked.

once shawn was finished taking the picture he and the fans went their separate ways and he returned to you. connecting your hands once again.

“are you taking me to be our guest?” you gasped, knowing exactly which restaurant shawn was talking about. earlier you passed by it, mentioning that one day you’d like to eat there.

“i think so? i don’t know, there was a talking tea pot.” he said, “and the princess who wears yellow. i don’t remember her name. emma watson wore it too.”

“belle, shawn, belle! from the one and only beauty and the beast! do you not remember watching it like three weeks ago?” you laughed. “seriously! i can not believe you don’t like disney movies!”

the rest of the walk to the restaurant, you and shawn argued about how he didn’t like disney movies even though you thought he should.

“i mean, you look like a disney prince already so why not?” you said, pointing out one of the disney princes on the wall of a store.

“y/n that does not look like me, he has black hair.”

“oh you get the point!”

he chuckled, leading you into the restaurant where they quickly lead you to a table at the back, almost separated from everyone else.

“so if i’m the disney prince that makes you my princess, right?” shawn asked, still not dropping the disney movie topic.

you rolled your eyes as the waiter approached your table ready to take drink orders, both of you decided to order water since it was quick and free.

“this place is cute,” shawn commented, taking a bite of bread that was on the table.

“oh please,” you scoffed. “you probably don’t know what this place even is.”

“it’s a fancy restaurant y/n, duh.”

“no” you rolled your eyes, “this is the beast’s castle dining room. you know, where be our guest is sung.”

“what’s that?”

“oh my god.” you sighed, taking a sip of water and ending the conversation right there.

after you ate dinner, you decided to walk around for a little longer, not wanting to leave just yet despite how tired you both were.

“shawn, just one more time! please please please?” you begged, trying to pull him in the direction of your favourite ride. the little mermaid ride.

“y/n, i have had enough of under the sea if i have to hear that song one more time i think i’m going to lose it.” he sighed, walking the opposite direction.

to people walking past, this was an odd sight. a 5'5 girl wearing minnie mouse ears trying to pull her 6'2 boyfriend into a disneyland ride while he’s walking the opposite direction. you received a few stares from people, but in this moment you didn’t mind. all you wanted was to go on the ride just one more time, and you would stop at nothing.

“come on shawn, who knows when we’re going to be here again!”

“y/n, you forced me on that ride 5 times today just for the song! i think that’s enough.” he exclaimed. “but we can go on the star wars one again.”

the star wars ride was right across from the little mermaid one and you absolutely hated it. shawn dragged you on it earlier, and at first you had an open mind about it but after a few minutes you hated it with all your heart. you never liked star wars in the first place but you went on to make him happy.

“no we are not going on that again.”

“well we aren’t going on the stupid mermaid one again either.”

you sighed, the two of you had moved to the sidewalk right in front of the entrance to the ride so you weren’t right in the middle of the street anymore.

“shawn,” you tried just one more time, a new idea popping into your head.

“no, i’m not giving in.” he crossed his arms, keeping his gaze fixed on the star wars ride ahead.

“oh yeah?”

“try me.”

“i’ll do whatever you want,” you smirked. “at the hotel. if you know what i’m saying.”

he turned to face you, narrowing his eyes.

“you’re lying.”

“try me,” you mimicked him from earlier. “i’m dead serious.”

he scanned your face, looking for any possible signs of lying. after making sure you were really serious, he grabbed your hand pulling you into the entrance.

“well in that case, what are we waiting for?”

questions, comments, concerns

Harry’s knee bounces up and down, hands clasped and resting on his legs as he watches her from a chair across the way. She’s crying quietly, curled on his couch, a blanket draped over her. He had put on the TV so she’d have something to distract herself.

She sniffed, “Can you stop staring at me?”

Harry keeps staring, "You really shouldn’t be here.”

"You already let me in.”

It was true, he had.

She had been standing there in his doorway, looking all helpless, and he immediately forgot he was upset with her, stepping to the side so she could walk into his flat.

But now, now he was angry again.

"Do you even care that you’re putting me in the middle of this again by being here? God knows what Jeremy would do if he found you here.”

She looks at me like this thought never occurred to her. "You’re right.” She stood up immediately, walking to the door where her suitcase was. “I’m sorry.”

It was just a typical Friday night. Everyone was out of school, ready for the weekend, chilling out with their friends and whatnot. Ones in particular that were sure to have a wild night was the local street gang-greasers known as “The Lost Boys.”

The Lost Boys were well known around town, for there multiple fights, shoplifting, smoking up a storm to where you could literally die from second hand, and some of them being just a plain drunken mess and trashing up the small town they lived in. Their leader, who is known as Peter Pan, seems to have little to no self control whatsoever. He sees a fight, he fights, he sees weed, he smokes it, sees a beer, drinks it till there is no more of it. And last but not least, he sees anything with legs and a skirt, he bangs the living shit outta them.

You, being in a higher class than Pan, could care less about what he was about and who the hell his ‘gang’ was. All you wanted to do was have a good time with your friends at the drive-in, and enjoy yourself. But, of course that wasn’t the case. Once you and a couple of girlfriends found a spot, one of them tapped your on the shoulder, pointing in the direction of the fence behind the wide screen.

“Take a gander at that,” Once your eyes adjusted to the darkness, you saw known other than Pan and his group climbing and crawling the fence, sneaking into the film. With a role of your eyes, you take long sip from your coke.

“Dumb hood,” You muttered, your other friend on your left bumping your shoulder with hers.

“You know you like him, Y/n. You have since the damn near second grade.”

“Yeah, when he had common sense, and didn’t care about some stupid gang, and sex and drugs. He keep living like this he won’t last age 19.” You glared while shaking your head as he started lighting a weed. He seemed to have felt your stare as he looked up and made eye contact with you. He winked at you slyly, making you practically gag in your mouth.

“I don’t know, he seems to take a liking to you, sweetheart. Remember that time he-”

“No, and I don’t want to remember. Can we just sit quietly, watch the movie, and forget about the stupid Lost Boys?” You snapped, both of your friends’ eyes widening for a moment, until they smirked playfully, but doing what you asked.

Sighing in contentment, you brought your attention back to the blank screen, waiting for the movie to start, not really in tune with your surroundings. Which probably would have been the best idea, for the face the so called ‘Dumb Hood’ made himself comfortable right behind you and your friends. Once that strong whiff of smoke passed through your nostrils, your once wide open eyes turned narrow as a groan escaped past your lips. You heard the seat creaking from behind you, as you tried with all your might not to roll your eyes so far to the back of your head, you were sure they would stay like that.

You felt a warm breath fan over your ear slightly, as you just waited for him to say a word to you. You practically dared him in your head.

“Well, what do we have here, boys? A few broads all by their lonesome, in the dark and scary night?” He rasped, his boys laughing obnoxiously at his unfunny remark. “How’ve you been, Y/n?”

“Get lost, hood,” You snapped, shrugging off the hand that played in your hair, making the boy chuckle at how quickly you became irritated.

“Ooh, I got a fiery one, boys! I like fire,” He whispered into your ear, you getting a faint smell of alcohol from his breath. Scrunching up your face, you turned to your friend on your right, only to see her flirting it up with Felix. Then on your left to your other friend, only to see her giggling like a deranged lunatic at another one of his boys. Sighing loudly, you practically pushed Pan in the face, turning to give him your full attention.

“Listen, I don’t know what you want for me, but ya ain’t gettin’ it! So I suggest you leave me and my friends the hell alone, understood? Now why don’t you make yourself useful and go drop dead in a hole, would ya hun?”

By now you had everyone’s attention, as most of Pan’s lost boys hooped and hollered at your sharp tongue, Pan grinning with that famous eyebrow raised. Taking a long drag from his weed, he blew the smoke in your face. Coughing while fanning the smoke away, you didn’t have time to even register that he was now all in your face, his grin deepening.

“I know you’re crazy about me, Y/n. So let’s cut to the chase, and let me take you to my place for some real fun, huh doll?”

The next thing he knew, their was cold liquid on his face and in his eyes. A loud groan escaped past his lips, as he fell back into the wooden seat, repeatedly groaning and cursing. You had thrown your drink in his face, standing above him as his lost boys quickly tried to clear his face of the soda. With a slight glare, you spat in his direction.

“Don’t ever call me doll, you filthy trash. The only fun you can have tonight is you and your right hand getting familiar with each other again. You know, like you do every Friday night when your lanky ass can’t get tail?” You grabbed your bag and left your seat, not caring if your friends followed or not. They were right behind you in a second, not really wanting to stick around after Pan got the soda off of him. They couldn’t believe you just did that!

While you walked away, Pan had finally gotten the soda clear from his eyes, as he wiped the rest of the sticky substance on his leather jacket. He watched you leave, his jaw locked as if he were angry; but his smirk and lust-filled eyes told a whole other story as he purred to his gang.

Fuck, I love her.”

Final Part of Last Chance

Months passed, seasons shifted, and so did Dean. Some days you weren’t sure how to even act because you never knew what mood he was in. He was so all over lately. You’d mentioned it, but it really didn’t accomplish much.

If his mood was sour after a hunt, you understood. However, him getting snippy with you wasn’t fair. You’d barely speak to him on those days, keeping yourself occupied. That way, he could pout in peace, and you wouldn’t be hurt because he got annoyed.

When summer came along, both kids were out of school. They’d reached the rivalry stage, and would go from playing nicely, to fighting like cats and dogs. Dean had left on a hunt the day before school let out for the summer. Then, cases had been back to back. It had been almost a month of no Dean, and you were at your breaking point. All you wanted was one evening to lock yourself away from them arguing, yelling, screaming, or getting into trouble.

A couple times he’d Skype’d them purely to talk to them about it, and that would help for about an hour. Until one kid took the car the other wanted. Then it was right back to it.

One night mid-July, you texted him. They had been at it since the second they woke up- at 4 that morning. Not once did they stop bickering. Not even food helped.

Babe? Are you busy? Can I call you?

What’s up?

I’m stressed out. The kids are wearing me thin. I need some kind of break. Please?

Babe, they’re kids. Can’t be that bad. Lol

Are you kidding me?! You’ve been gone nearly a month. That’s a month of parenting these two alone. A month of fighting over fucking cars, and who gets the goddamn red plate.

I think it’s you that needs to chill.

…I’m not even sure how to reply to that…

Just calm down. You’re getting too worked up. This case should be over soon. Just breathe.

Night.

Oh, come on!

No, go. Enjoy fucking around at a bar with Sammy.

Not fair. I enjoy a beer or two at night. So what? It’s relaxing, and it’s what we do. Not like I’m not stressed over here.

Not even close to the same, Dean. You can shut out for the night. I can’t.

With that, you put your phone on silent and rubbed your temples. How the hell could he try to turn this around on you? You didn’t want to argue with him anymore. Lying down, you let out a sigh to try to get some sleep. Just as your eyes shut, your daughter woke up. “MOMMY!” She called out, thus waking up your son.

“Fucking great.” You groaned, getting out of bed.

Anna: “I don’t even know what love is.” This is the most complicated, broken, and profound line in the entire movie that was said by an equally complicated, broken, and profound character. Wait, What?

I know people will most likely agree or notice that Elsa is more glorified and magnified than Anna. Elsa is widely celebrated that she has become a whole franchise on her own singlehandedly. In Disney stores and in other stores carrying the “Frozen” merchandise, I notice that everything with Elsa’s face in it are always sold out whereas Anna’s…you can see that there are always a lot floating around. That she’s only just a spare. If a kid asks for Elsa, and her dolls are out of stock, she settles for Anna. Anna, the princess, not the Queen. Anna, the klutz, not the elegant and graceful character. Anna, the underrated character in her own movie.

What’s my point here? I’m not talking about sales statistics. I’m merely stating the obvious. We see more of  Elsa’s story get more notes and analyses here on Tumblr. She’s this utterly gorgeous muse with a tragic backstory that makes her so complicated and so enigmatic. She’s the one with the anthemic song with the sexy hips and gorgeous ice dress. She has ice powers, which make her so disarmingly hotter, and way more interesting that Anna, the younger sister who’s unashamedly ordinary compared to her sister.

I’m not trying to push Elsa off the pedestal and make Anna outshine her; wrong. That’s just how it is. Anna is underrated and there’s no denying that. But it makes me quite sad when I see people write about how Anna is just this naïve, gullible, and shallow character who fulfilled Disney’s aesthetics by being the typical princess who is love-starved and seeks romance as her main goal throughout the movie; to find a prince, kiss, and live happily ever after. Anna fulfilled that, yes. There was Kristoff, the kiss, and happily ever after. But that all came with a price. But she’s more than that. Way more than that.

“I don’t even know what love is.” My focus is this line because there are so many layers to it.

Let’s tackle the question with some hypothetical questions and some counter statements that I also thought about, shall we?

1. Anna knows what love is. It’s not like she was locked away like Elsa was. She had her mom and dad. So if anything, Elsa should be the one who would be fitting to say that.

Yes, Anna had more contact with her mom and dad and I’m sure they compensated for Elsa’s absence by being there for her. Anna was free to hug her parents. She was free to play with her mom and dad. They had a good relationship for the most part. Anna loved them and they loved Anna. But honestly, if my sister just stopped talking to me and my parents wouldn’t give me an actual answer as to why, I’d feel pretty devastated.

I’d feel hated by my own sister. I don’t know how much (or if at all) it was emphasized by her parents that Elsa didn’t hate her whenever she asked why Elsa won’t see her anymore, but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that they kept her in the dark. Anna was betrayed from the very beginning by her own parents. All these doors. All these excuses. All these unanswered questions. It was unfair. Although her parents meant well, I’m pretty sure Anna had already formed conflicting thoughts about the concept of what love is. Why is Elsa gone? Why won’t Mama and Papa tell me? Don’t they trust me?

2. If Anna is so desperate for love and the company of people, why didn’t she go with her parents on that ship? That could’ve been her chance to explore the world. Heck, she also has a choice of leaving the castle. It’s not like Elsa told her to be locked in, too.

I’ve seen someone write about this, but I’ve reblogged it a long time ago so I can’t really find it right now. It’s interesting how Anna stayed behind when she could’ve gone with her parents. She was fifteen years old and during that time period, hell yeah, she’s pretty darn legal. People got married even before fifteen. She didn’t need to go with her parents. She had a choice. And her choice was to stay.

Why? Okay, so Mama and Papa will be gone for two weeks. TWO WEEKS. That’s enough time for me to convince Elsa to come out of her room. Hopefully. I’ll even camp out by her door! I’ll bribe her with chocolates! Wait, what? It’s been way too long. I’ll use this time to come up with a plan to make her talk to me without Mama and Papa telling me not to go near her door. Elsa doesn’t hate me. I think. I mean, she’s my sister! Maybe, even for just a few days, Elsa and I can finally have some time for ourselves without anyone telling me not to bother her. I need to stay behind. I need to talk to her. Joan doesn’t say much. I miss Elsa.

I think that’s how it went down in Anna’s mind. Or close to it. I mean, if she went on that ship, she would’ve died and uhh…there will be no movie. But two weeks became forever. And the door remained shut for another three years although the plan to have it opened did not waver.

She never opened those gates and left Elsa alone because where Elsa is, there she will be, too. Who will embrace Elsa with open arms when she finally opens that door? Anna won’t miss it for the world.

I think this is the part where Anna’s faith in her sister wavered. God, she was so excited, so nervous, and so desperate to keep her sister’s attention. She standing so close next to Elsa. And Elsa is finally talking to her. They had, max, three minutes of screen time together. Three minutes or so of finally reconnecting. But Elsa and her own version of unconditional love for Anna, pushes her away once again and breaks her own heart again in the process.  Everything was going well….what did I ever do to her?

It’s just so absolutely brilliant how Hans comes in the picture a second after this scene to catch her as she tripped and about to fall. As if he was the one who will save her metaphorically. Hans, who echoes Anna’s pain (or pretends to) captures Anna’s heart immediately. He talks to her, makes her feel important, he…TALKS to her. It wasn’t a painting. It wasn’t her face against a door talking to a voiceless human being that was inside that room somewhere. It was someone finally talking to her and listening to her. Anna could not just let this pass. At this rate, Anna just wanted out. Marriage, whatever it may be, she needed an out. Not necessarily to leave Elsa because she did offer that Hans and her brothers live in their castle. But just…an escape from this gaping hole she was left with in so long. So much void. So much loneliness. Yeah, Anna was pretty naive to just say “YES” to marriage after four minutes of having a duet with a complete stranger. How gullible. But really, how much more loneliness and rejection can a person stomach? She saw an opportunity and took it. She wanted an out.  She wanted to be loved. And that’s perfectly human nature. Maybe this is her chance. Anna has been questioning what love is since that day that door slammed shut on her face. Maybe Hans will prove her wrong. He did, in the most sadistic and unexpected way.

“I don’t even know what love is.”

This is the face of complete defeat. Elsa throws her out of her ice palace after literally getting a near death experience and trekking that mountain for days. She dropped everything for Elsa just to be rejected again. Elsa physically built a monster to throw her out. Seriously, that blows more than anything even though we all know Elsa means well. And then, Hans betrays her. She’s dying and she doesn’t know what love is. She really doesn’t. She has this epiphany and realization that maybe she was just an idiot all this time. Anna, here, is convinced that whatever image of love she has in her mind is nothing more but demented wishful thinking and lies. Her parents kept secrets from her and allowed her relationship with her sister to fester. Plus, they leave her, too. They died with those secrets and those hugs Anna had looked forward to everyday growing up and wishing Elsa can hug her, too. Her own sister who was her best friend and someone she looks up to suddenly stopped being there for her unannounced; kicks her out after she goes on this suicide mission to find her, and accidentally freezes her heart. The one person that she confided in and trusted with her heart leaves her for dead after telling her she was a rebound because “no one was getting anywhere with Queen Elsa” that’s why he picked her. All of this seem to be undermined because of Anna’s radiant personality. But did anyone really actually consider that it may have been a fascade to mask the fact that she’s been crapped on all her life and everyday she wishes someone can make all of that stop?

So yeah, don’t tell me that Anna is shallow.

Anna screams “NO!” and blocks Hans’ sword from killing Elsa. By the time this happens, it’s already been established that Anna thinks Elsa doesn’t want to see her again. STILL, she literally defies that. NO, I will not let you touch my sister. YES, it’s probably true that she doesn’t love me enough or trust me enough to make it work, ice powers and all, BUT I will not let you kill her. This is not how it’s going to end. YES, I may have given up on trying to mend our relationship, but I CHOOSE HER. I may not know what love is, I may not know how it feels like to be loved. BUT I KNOW HOW TO LOVE. AND I LOVE MY SISTER. I CHOOSE HER OVER MY LIFE EVEN THOUGH IT MEANS I MAY NEVER SEE HER AGAIN.

Guys, Anna died loving Elsa. Anna died forgiving Elsa completely…but she died not really and truly grasping how much Elsa loves her. She died thrown out, rejected, and betrayed.

Anna does not exist to fulfill Disney’s aesthetics to maintain a certain standard of being a Disney princess and a damsel in distress. Anna is none of that. Whatever happy ending she got, she deserves it, in all of its cliche and cheesiness. She has suffered just as much. She has cried just as much. And she deserves happiness and love just as much. She’s been a complicated character since her first screen time and for the next to follow. Sure, she made some really stupid mistakes. But that’s what makes her so relatable and so scarily human. Anna is the epitome of stubborn love. And that’s what makes her so beautiful.

More Like The Emperor

Clarke knew she would regret volunteering to work the early shifts when she started working at Starbucks, but it aligned with her class schedule and she was hoping at least the free coffee would do something to wake her up in the morning.

She wasn’t five minutes into her first shift, barely past five-thirty am, so early even the sun couldn’t be bothered to show itself yet, before she knew for certain that her hopes were misplaced.

She did her best to tame the scowl on her face on the off chance they actually had customers before six. By seven, she could very nearly manage a smile when serving the pre-coffee grumps that dragged themselves through their doors. But before six, or really, if she was honest, six-thirty, people were lucky if she didn’t glare at them like she wanted to splash the hot coffee in their faces.

Her manager would probably be more bothered by this if most of the customers seemed to care much about the look on her face. She almost didn’t mind serving those people, the ones who were clearly just as amused at being up at such an absurd hour as she was and were just trying to get themselves a halfway decent cup of caffeine to get through their day.

That, she could handle.

What really, really made her want to poison someone’s cappuccino were morning people.

Part of her already hated him the moment he walks through the door; it was her third shift and she’d only seen two people that morning, verging on five-forty-five, the slight smirk seeming plastered on his face like he existed to charm every person on the planet.

He saunters up to the register and grins at her. She’s just awake enough to register the fact that his smile could literally end wars, (or start them, she thought, that would be more historically accurate) but it still did little to brighten her mood.

She takes his order and his voice in every way matches his overwhelmingly attractive exterior. He had it all, really; the dark, curly hair, the dark eyes, the endearingly freckled skin and muscles she was sure made other girls swoon.

Other girls, that is, who were not raging monsters before six am, face to face with a man who seemed determined to radiate sunshine. She finds herself just as annoyed by his good looks as she is by his good mood.

She manages to keep herself composed while taking his order, but catches herself only after making a snide comment about The Fault in Our Stars when he says his name is Augustus.

In her moment of horror that she’d just made fun of a customer’s name, sure he’s going to get upset and tell her manager and she’s going to lose her job before she’s even finished her third shift, he has the audacity to smirk.

“More like the emperor, Clarke,” he says with a pointed glance toward her name tag.

She almost would’ve preferred if he’d gotten her fired; that, at least, would’ve likely prevented her from seeing him again.

Under The Back Porch

As a kid I lived with neglectful parents at best. At worst dad would turn his screams and fists on me but I learned quickly how to dodge the worst of it. Mom wasn’t much help, she’d just smoke in the kitchen and bitch at him for staying out so late.

At the time we lived basically in the middle of nowhere, our nearest neighbors were a long walk away for a six year old and we had trees between us. No one to run to for help. But I was pretty small for a kid my age. I learned I could fit pretty much anywhere. The closet. Dryer. I think even once I tucked myself under my futon in such a way I could still get some air but no one could see me.

I was a master at hiding. But it wasn’t for a good reason.

One night though, one night I chose to do something different.
