A/N: Bucky is tired and needy and just wants to cuddle. (who. fuckin’. wouldn’t?!)

This is why he came stumbling into your floor, somehow overriding every security protocol with his left over spy-skills, calling out your name at two in the morning.

Actually, it was more like a drawn out whine.

Can i request for a bad boy serpent jughead jones and the sweet girl next door betty cooper fiction and maybe with a steamy make out session scene? Thank you!

So the story is slightly AU. Jughead never attended school in Riverdale, never was friends with Betty and Archie, as a matter of fact they didn’t even know each other. No murder ever happened, Betty was never pinning over Archie. I also made some other small changes that you’ll notice upon reading. Plus, I made Reggie a Serpent too, for no reason really, I just wanted him to be Jughead’s childhood best friend in this universe. :p Last but not least, Betty turned out to be extremely feisty while I was writing this; she is still a sweetheart in pastel colors but her character is a tad more Betty Cooper in episodes 12 &13. I hope that’s ok! Thank you for requesting, dear anon! Enjoy, lovelies! ❤️
(Okay, this is 34 pages long. I don’t even know why, I don’t even know what I have written in so many pages. I apologize in advance for that mammoth length. Warning: turns mildly smutty but definately hot and heavy at the end.)

P.S. Because this is too long, I have put it under a “read more” so if you are on mobile the story gets cut halfway through. Here’s an AO3 link if the tumblr app doesn’t work for you. :)

Fruit Punch Lips & Leather Jacket Dreams

  • Chapter 1: But Mama, I Want a Bad Boy

Southside Elementary School was a rare example of fine architecture in the small town of Riverdale. Rebuilt at the outskirts of town, after a disastrous fire caused by a minor during a prank gone wrong a couple of years ago, and squeezed between Southside Kindergarten and Southside High, it looked nothing like the two crumbling, cement colored buildings on its sides that lacked any learning motivation. It was modern, pure white with splashes of green and purple and it brought a fresh air of change, a promise that maybe the next generation of Southside kids would not have the ominous fate of their ancestors.

The Serpents had outdone themselves with the construction of the of the building, hiring Fred Andrews and his crew – one of the few people that wasn’t driven by discrimination and always agreed in doing business at the south side of town – and wasting a large amount of money from their infamous Serpent vault to create a place appropriate for shaping young minds. Maybe that’s why sweet and always optimistic Betty Cooper smiled every day at three o’clock sharp when her sneakers would hop up the marble stairs of the buzzing with life building. Because it was proving her right; Serpents would do anything for their children, just like any other parent on a prestigious office job. Serpents weren’t the monsters everyone thought they were.

Her excuse for walking all the way from their quaint north paradise to the disreputable south district five days per week was something that Betty always found fascinating; volunteering. Nurturing and caring by nature, she was constantly filling her free time with activities that offered assistance to those needed; taking care of stray cats and dogs down at the animal center, gathering food supplies and clothing for the homeless at their local church, being an annual blood donor, being proud cofounder along with her best friend, Veronica Lodge, of the two years now successful female empowerment club, Girls Speak Louder, at Riverdale High. And when senior year came and she needed a bigger challenge, something to bring her out of her good girl comfort zone, a tiny announcement had caught her eye, stuck on the bulletin board at the center of her high school corridor; Volunteers needed at Southside Elementary School.

“Sangwoo, can you come here for a second?” The boy looked up from where he was drawing in the back of the class and locked eyes with you. He was sat alone in the corner, away from the other kids and it broke your heart to see him like this. Sangwoo was usually active with the other kids and used to always participate in class, but lately he had been pulling away from everyone.

The boy cleaned up the items he had been using and he slowly got up from where he was sitting. The sluggish movements of the six year old worried you and a frown came across you face. His eyes seemed to be locked on the ground as he walked towards you, not wanting to make eye contact. The action seemed to be his way of hiding from you and you sighed, slowly crouching down to his height.

“Sangwoo, do you have something you want to tell teacher about?” You asked. You hoped the words would be enough encouragement for the boy to speak but the words he said weren’t the ones you had been looking for. You became even more worried as you heard the words that left his mouth and you wondered if something was going on at home.

“I’m not in trouble, am I?” Sangwoo questioned. His tone made your heart clench and you quickly shook your head, cancelling all fears of his. He seemed to calm down a little bit at the fact that he wasn’t in trouble.

In the beginning of the relationship, Tom and you were inseparable. He wasn’t overwhelmed with several acting gigs like he is now. You both were able to sit and enjoy each other’s company without too many stresses.

However, that time spent together soon started to disappear. Tom began his Spider-Man film, while you continued your everyday job, trying to fit in as many hours as you could. Yes, it was a lot you were putting on yourself, but you honestly wanted to distract yourself from not being able to have Tom with you.

You missed him.

Part 2https://thatsadbreakfastclub.tumblr.com/post/158505761114/rip-to-my-youth-pt-2

It was getting to the point where I was having internal battles with myself every night. ‘Y/N he’s working on the novel and the newspaper, of course, it’s going to be harder for him to spend time with you’ versus ‘he’s moved on, he’s closer with Betty now, he and Archie are closer too, you’ve lost him, you’re irrelevant’. These were the thoughts that had been consuming my brain for the past couple of weeks. Jug was my best friend, right? Maybe I should text him? Maybe not. I started playing with my pale grey cap, my nervous tick of sorts. Jug could always tell when I was nervous because I would fiddle with the cap “Y/N” he’d say “spill it, you can’t hide anything from me, I can read you like an open book”. Thinking about this little memory was bittersweet. How can someone who’s practically by your side every day suddenly just have no real interest in talking to you? Ever since the murder of Jason Blossom, it really feels like everything in Riverdale has changed.

I glanced at my clock perched on my bedside table, 7:45 pm sigh. Maybe doing some homework will take my mind off all this bullshit, who’s idea was it to put me in advanced algebra anyway? Oh, that’s right my father, who I really wish was here right now and not away on some business trip. Tonight would have to be a lonely one. That’s when I remembered I had Jug’s math textbook, there it was sitting on my desk. I flipped it open and sure enough on the bottom left-hand corner was a small ‘property of Jughead Jones’. Perfect I could use this as an excuse to text him.

Hey Jug, I forgot I had your math textbook? Want me to come drop it over? The two-hour wait to get a reply just built up more and more anger inside of me Hey Y/N, I’m working on an article with Betty right now, could you drop it off to me in the newsroom in free period tomorrow? This was it, this was fucking it, oh I would take his textbook to him tomorrow and I would also confront him about this whole thing, that’s what I’d do straight up ask him why I was suddenly dead weight, I’ve had his guys back for so many years and now I’m just nothing, I won’t have it. Will do I sent back, cool calm and collected and then I was going to give him a piece of my mind tomorrow.

Getting ready for school was never a difficult task for me, I pretty much did the same thing everyday. My Y/H/C was tied into a ponytail with the front strands falling onto my face framing it. I put on my classic ripped boyfriend jeans and a black t-shirt, accompanied by my army jacket. To finish off my classic look I added my signature grey cap and put on my favourite dark grey lipstick. I wasn’t the girliest of girls, that was for sure, but everyone seemed to identify me by my style and in this I found comfort. After giving myself the once over in the mirror I grabbed Jug’s textbook from my desk, shoving it into my bag and I set off for school.

The day dragged on and on, I had a tonne of classes with Kevin and Ronnie today so it was nice to hang out with them for a change. This was of course until Kevin pulled the “I haven’t seen you and Jughead together in a while, what happened you two are usually joined at the hip?” line “You guys are my otp, I hope there’s no trouble in paradise” Veronica added. “Ronnie we’re not dating, why does everyone always think that and honestly, I don’t know, I guess he’s been too busy with this whole novel and newspaper thing to remember me as well” I replied giving my best interpretation of a fake smile. Veronica and Kevin gave me sympathetic looks.

As the bell rang, signaling our release I was packing my things together when Veronica grabbed my arm. “Y/N you need to tell Jug how you feel, I don’t know if you’ve even admitted it to yourself yet but it’s pretty obvious you’re in love with him, I can see how much not seeing him is hurting you and I think it’s best if you face this head on” I was so taken aback by this, I mean for years I’ve always had people ask if Jug and I were dating but no one had been this blatant with me. Was she right?, No he’s my best friend, I couldn’t be in love with him no way. I let out an awkward laugh “I don’t love Jughead, we’re just friends” It came out so defensive that Veronica raised both her eyebrows and folded her arms “the fact that you’re being so defensive about this just further proves my point” She said in a sing-song voice. “I gotta go Ronnie” I replied standing up from my seat and walking out the classroom “I only say this cause’ I care” she yelled after me.

Making my way towards the newsroom, I’d never felt so nervous in my life, like get a grip girlie it was just your friend, surely this whole not speaking to me thing was just, not even a big deal and I was hyping it all up. I was still going to have a go at him though because he was angry when Archie ditched him and now he’s okay with doing it to me? Not on my watch.

I had the math book in my hand as I was walking up to the door of the newsroom, I had my best ‘pissed off face’ going on I was ready.

I had my hand almost on the doorknob when I took a quick glance through the doors glass window. That was when my stomach fell, my jaw dropped and my heart involuntarily shattered. It was just a glimpse that’s all I could allow myself to watch, but inside that dusty old newsroom was one Jughead Jones kissing Elizabeth Cooper. The feelings hit me like a truck, and then everything went numb.

I didn’t know what to do so without giving any sign I was there I dropped the math book and ran, I ran out of the school I ran past pops and all the way home. By this time the tears were free falling, I couldn’t stop it and I didn’t care. Once I was in the safety of being inside my house with the door locked I gave in to my emotions and just slid down to the floor.

Wow, I felt so stupid and so naive, why didn’t I see this coming, it all made perfect sense now. I guess this was me also coming to terms with the fact that as usual Ronnie was right, I was painfully in love with Jug and now I was too late to ever do anything about it.

The more I sat there and thought about it the more I came to realise that this was my fault. I held Jug up to this crazy high standard and just assumed it would always be him and me at the end of the day. I had sacrificed so much to hang out with him, to keep my “image”, I avoided making too many other friends, I avoided parties, extracurricular activities you name it I wasn’t a part of it. Now it was all going to change, it had to change. Maybe this was the wake-up call I needed. I had to work on myself, be better, be stronger. Most of all this needed to happen because this meant I could quite literally not be around Jughead anymore, I think seeing or talking to him would make me cry, something the new me will NOT be doing.

I picked myself up off the floor and headed to the bathroom to wash my face. “Get a grip Y/N, ” I told myself staring into the mirror. It’s like as soon as I come to terms with the feelings I think I may have had for years, I have to immediately try to get rid of them. I think this was a coping mechanism for me, and I think the reason I’ve never let myself admit that I had feelings for him before was because I fear rejection so much so very much, and I had to do what I knew would keep him around and that was to continue to be his friend. Well, little girl it’s time to grow up.

And what’s the best way to look more mature and confident, change your style. From what I’ve witnessed from the media, what you wear can have a profound impact on how people view you. This is what I had to do first, get rid of the “old me” look. This meant bye grey cap, bye dark lipstick ( I mean what was I even trying to do with that? Look like a corpse?) (oh wow corpse jokes really funny, maybe a bit too real in light of recent circumstances.) And also a very big goodbye to my jeans and army jacket, that would have to go too.

Looking through my closet it was apparent I didn’t have much to work with, I would definitely have to go shopping this weekend, I’ll bring Ronnie and Kevin along, they know fashion and are probably more than willing to help me out. AH HUH eureka! The dress I’ve been looking for! About two months ago I bought this really nice burgundy skater dress that I was planning to wear on a summer trip away, but when that got cancelled I never really had an excuse to wear it, until now. It showed a lot of leg, which I was surprisingly pretty comfortable with. The thought of people seeing me in this tomorrow made me feel a mixture of excitement and nausea.

The next thing that would change was the hair; no more would it be hidden by a cap and just randomly pulled back behind my face. I would wear it down and give it a curl. I think that would give me a nice elegant edge. God, I really don’t think anyone’s even going to recognise me tomorrow, kinda funny really. The next thing I had to do was go on to the school website and look for an extracurricular I would be willing to do. Hopefully, this would be a good way to make new friends and keep me busy.

I went and grabbed my laptop from my desk, as I did this I heard my phone vibrate, which meant I had a message. The name that made the screen light up made my heart skip a few beats, it was from Jug Hey, I just found my math book outside the newsroom? Why did you leave it there and not come inside? SIGH, reading that was like a knife to my chest, I immediately deleted the message, this may be immature but I needed time, I can’t bring myself to talk to him and if he can do it to me I can sure as hell do it to him.

Shaking those thoughts away I was brought back to the task at hand. Logging onto the schools web page I found the list of extracurricular activities going on at Riverdale high. Chess club? Pass. Girl’s soccer? Hard pass.  Mathletes? No way in hell. Come on there has to be something here. After fifteen minutes of looking to no avail I scrolled past the extracurricular activities. Eventually I saw an ad posted by the she-devil herself Cheryl Blossom, apparently, one of the river vixens had broken her ankle and a new vixen was needed immediately, auditions were tomorrow after school. Hmm, could I do this? Maybe I could? The old me would never dream of being a cheerleader but the new me, maybe she could. You know what, fuck it. It was decided, I caught myself slightly smiling as I clicked ‘attend’ on the event. It felt like a breath of fresh air, tomorrow I would walk into school confident and new. I was going to cure my own broken heart. I just hoped a run in with Jughead wouldn’t make it all come crashing down.

It was a lot to take in.

“You’re kidding, right?” Were the only words you could summon, your voice a small pained whisper. You shook your head violently, frowning in complete disbelief. He had to be lying. He had to be.

“I wish I was.” Jimin chuckled humourlessly before sighing, his small warm hands finding their way to your shoulder to rub soothing patterns across your skin.

“I-, I don’t believe you…” You whispered, utterly heartbroken upon your recent discovery.

“I never wanted you to know-, I’ve kept this from you for so long, I couldn’t risk anybody knowing about you…” Jimin explained further, his handsome face contorted with disappointment and guilt.
“You’re my only weakness Y/N. I can’t stand the thought of something happening to you-“

Stop.” You waved your hand in front of his face animatedly as you tried to come to terms with the situation.
“None of this is real… This isn’t happening right now.” You broke down, sobbing into your hands as your brother pulled you tightly into his toned chest, smoothing out your hair with his fingers.

“Shh, hey-, I didn’t want to believe it either. But that’s the truth I swear to you.” Jimin sighed, he’d always wanted to hide this part of himself in front of you, but it was too late to keep up the charade now.
“I’m sorry I lied to you.”

Your entire life was a lie. Everything you were told, everything you believed, everything you knew… It was all manufactured. How could your brother do this to you? He went behind your back and continued your fathers dirty work. The apparent prostitutes, drug deals, and all of the other illegal activities that went on inside the house didn’t phase you half as much as the truth about your parents. Their death was no accident, Jimin believed that their plane was hijacked by a rival gang, and has dedicated the past five years to finding the truth; wanting nothing more than justice for your parents. That’s what hurt the most, all this time he’d kept you ignorant to the truth. You had no idea just how fucked up and dysfunctional your relationship really was.

“Did they… Kill people?” You asked, referring to your parents, almost shuddering at the words you never thought would leave your lips.

“She didn’t, but he did… Fuck. I’m so sorry you found out… Especially like this.” Jimin wiped away a stray tear that had fallen onto his cheek, his face pink and puffy from crying while his bottom lip still quivered with sadness.

“What about you? Do you…” You inhaled, locking eyes with him. “Kill people?”

Jimin stared at you in genuine shock, his mouth ajar as he began blinking rapidly, nervously trying to conjure the right words to say.
“I uh… Yes.”

hey, i don't know if you write smut, but in honor of the leaked scene, could you write a established!bughead drabble, where he climbs her window and is all flirty? (doesn't have to be smut tho, just a hot make out).. i love your writing btw

(Okay, a little disclaimer. First of all, this is not full on smut, it’s just a hot, slightly smutty make out. Second of all, I didn’t make it full on smut, not because I didn’t want to (believe me Cole tempts me to sin and sin badly) but because I didn’t feel that Bughead’s first time would be like that and I didn’t want to write a random smut without first writing about Jughead not being sure about his sexuality and him and Betty generally testing the waters and all of the other normal things teenagers go through. I intend to write something like that because, asexual Jughead or not, Betty and Jughead are two teens that have a natural naivety and a mutual respect to one another so I believe that, as we saw in the kiss too, they would be timid and taking their time with exploring what they are comfortable with and testing their limits. So I left that for another one-shot. As for the part that Jughead might be asexual. I respect that and I’m not trying to erase anything of his (possible) character here. For what I have read and heard from other ace people and friends, yes, he can still be asexual. Asexuality is a sexual orientation, sexual behavior does not change that. Like every other sexuality it has subcategories; the “I dislike sex”, the “I find it ok, but I do not engage in it often”, the “I’m asexual but my partner makes me feel good” etc.  In my mind, as I became older and kept reading the comics and understanding more about sexuality and educating myself on the topic, Jughead fell to the third category for me. That he was being somebody with maybe a lower level of sexual interest but with sexual drive nontheless. So that’s what I have in my mind while watching Riverdale and writing this one-shot and the possible others that will revolve around this topic in the future.

Sorry that was so long, I just wanted to set some things straight and by all means I’m not trying to offend anybody. Everybody ships what they want to ship and that’s perfectly ok! Ship wars are just tiring and pointless so everybody stay calm and respect everyone’s opinions. And if Jughead does end up being asexual with no need to engage in any sexual activities then sure, everyone should be again perfectly ok and not bitch and moan that he won’t get to have steamy scenes or anything. He is still going to be the most amazing guy in Rivedale either way!

End of my huge rant!! Hope you enjoy guys!! <3)

 Is your mom finally asleep?

I think so yeah. Why?

I’m coming up ;)

Betty locked her phone and shot up from her bed, abandoning her worn-out copy of Wuthering Heights pages first on the mattress and kicking her covers, a nervous excitement pouring down on her belly as she heard the familiar crack of careful footsteps on wood. She gave herself a quick once over on her vanity mirror, checking that her messy bun was intact and straightening her plain white t-shirt, before kicking off her bunny printed fuzzy socks of her feet and throwing them under her bed in a hurry. It wasn’t the fact that he wouldn’t appreciate them, he would and he would probably offer her that chuckle of his that set free a million butterflies inside her chest, but her toe nails were painted a lovely baby pink and it was a shame not to show them off, even though his focus would be on other places, more important ones. She felt her cheeks heating at that and she quickly grabbed her strawberry lip balm from her nightstand, applying some on her already soft lips with her ring finger, knowing that this taste mixed with her own always drove him crazy.

Since that day that Jughead had climbed up her window so for her to complain to him about her parents and her family situation, it seemed that this became a thing for them. At first, he was just sneaking up because they needed a quiet place to discuss investigation plans and theories, the office hours of Blue & Gold proving not to be enough. Now, two months after, the raven haired boy used that ladder almost every night to see his beautiful girlfriend, cuddle with her and watch movies and most importantly kiss her like she was the heavenly droplets of water on his always thirsty lips.

Avengers x reader

A/N: This is my first Avengers imagine/reader insert, so I’m trying to get used to writing them. Otherwise, I like how it turned out for my first try(even though I can point out a list of things I could have done different, or added, but whatever?) Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

It was a typical Friday night for New York City and the Avengers themselves, who resided inside the tower for the night. A thunderstorm raged on outside the tall building, the secure windows of the main lounge area showcasing the pouring rain and occasional lightning strikes outside.

Most of Earth’s mightiest heroes were relaxed in the lounge. The TV was playing a Pixar movie; Steve and Bucky’s eyes glued to the screen. They’ve been going through their list of movies to watch and catch up on and tonight it was the movie UP. It was getting to the emotional bits, so the two super-soldiers’ attention were on the screen.

Clint and Natasha sat near the kitchen, chatting over whatever came to mind. Mostly any interesting or exciting things to happen through the week. Tony and Bruce were in the lab working on their most recent project. Everyone else was either in their rooms or somewhere else around the tower. No one was dumb enough to venture out into the storm.

A ding came from the elevator, catching the attention of the two assassins before its sleek doors slid open to reveal (Y/N).

“Hey, (Y/N), we were wondering when you’d-” Clint shut his mouth after catching a look of their teammate before laughter spilled out of his mouth immediately after.

Stepping out of the elevator, (Y/N) stopped and stared at the hysteric archer, unamused. The girl’s (h/c) locks were plastered to her face, pretty much every inch of her body soaked from the rain outside. “Go ahead, laugh it up,” she grumbled.

“Did I hear- MY FLOORS!” Tony’s distraught cry fueled Clint’s hysteria more but with an elbow to the ribs from Natasha, he shut up. “What happened to you?”,the redhead made her way over to the drenched girl with a small chuckle.

The other two in the room paused their movie to help out, getting towels from the hall closet.

(Y/N) sent a thankful smile their way, putting a towel under her feet as to not ruin Tony’s precious flooring. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see him relax, making her roll her eyes while she dried herself some.

“I was walking home from work when the storm came out of nowhere,” she explained. The girl shifted the towels in her arms, pulling something from underneath her hoodie. “I was almost home when something- or rather someone- called out for help.” With a small smile, she pulled the towels back just in time for a tiny kitten to peak it’s head out.

“Aw!” Natasha cooed, joined by Clint once he walked closer to the group. The group stared at the little bundle of cuteness as it took a look around, curious. The kitten was young, about a few weeks old, a varied colored tabby with big brown eyes.

“This little guy was all alone in al alleyway.” (Y/N) further explained the creatures sad story, stroking its head. “The box he was in was mostly drenched and there wasn’t any other cats or people around so I couldn’t just leave him.”

“He looks healthy,” mumbled Tony, surprisingly taking the cat from (Y/N)’s hands to cradle it awkwardly. “I’ll get Bruce or Vision to take a look at him while you get changed.” (Y/N) couldn’t stop the touched smile that spread on her face.

“Thanks, Tony. That’s really-”

“Just don’t mess up my floors further.” The group all rolled their eyes, going back to their own activities once Tony left.

(Y/N) padded down the hall, warmed up from her shower and in a fresh pair of PJs. She smiled at the growing excitement in her chest at the thought of her new found furry friend.

There were more voices coming from the lounge when (Y/N) got closer. She eventually entered the room, spotting a few more faces that joined everyone on the couches. Bruce, Vision and the Maximoff twins joined in on the fun of gushing over the kitten they found earlier.

“He seems fine,” Bruce shifted the cat in his hands, the little guy now bundled in a small blanket on his lap. “No injuries or any illnesses. A little malnourished from being left outside, but otherwise okay.”

“One lucky little fella!” Pietro petted the kitty, earning a cute little meow. It seems he enjoyed all the attention.

“Thanks again you guys.” (Y/N) slipped in between Bruce and Wanda on the couch, the doctor handing the cat over once she settled. “I was worried no one could let me keep him.”

Well-” Tony raised a finger, about to protest when Bruce sent him a look over his shoulder. He sighed, giving up any further attempt at an argument. “I mean, who could say no to the little guy.”

“Right?” (Y/N) smiled at the cat, picking him up gently to kiss his teeny nose. “You’re just so cute!” He mewed again, the group of heroes laughing at the interaction.

The next day the skies cleared and the sun shined down on the city. The tower was going through its morning routine when excited shouted traveled through its halls.

Guys guys guys!”(Y/N) ran into the kitchen where mostly everyone was seated, eating breakfast. She slid on the tiled floor, a huge smile on her face as she held something behind her back.

“What what what!” Clint cried back, imitating his friend and earning a few collective chuckles from the group. The thrilled hero took out the object from behind her, holding it up for all to see.

The rescued kitten from the previous night sat in her hands, droopy-eyed from waking up. Besides that a little white turtle neck sat snug on his body, roomy enough to be comfortable with small arm holes.

“Oh my gosh, that’s adorable!” Wanda instantly came to their side, forgetting her breakfast to hold the kitten.

“You made that?” Bucky asked, to which (Y/N) nodded proudly. She sat next to him at the bar, taking the mug of (f/d) Tony offered her.

“Yup,” she answered, popping the last syllable. “While he slept. Poor little Leo, I shoved that thing on him right after he woke up.”

At the choice of the kitten’s name, Tony sent her a look, as if to say ‘really?’. “Leo?” (Y/N) simply shrugged. “First name to come to mind.”

“Who is this Leo?” Thor and Loki now entered the kitchen, along with Sam who went over to chat with Steve. He flicked Bucky’s ear on the way which caused a mini slap-fight to follow. (Y/N) ignored the cat fight in the background to address the gods.

“Leo’s a kitten we rescued last night from the storm. He’s now a part of the family~” Loki rolled his eyes and instead of fawning over the cat went in search of coffee. Thor, on the other hand, seemed thrilled, taking Leo from Wanda and into his hands. Leo looked even smaller in the bigger man’s hands but didn’t look phased at all.

Thor brought Leo eye level before speaking to him. “Hello Leo, I am Thor.” Another eye roll from Loki while the others laughed.

A/N: Thanks for reading! I just couldn’t help writing this once the idea popped into my head as I found that picture on Instagram. I hope you enjoyed, and I’d love to read your feedback if you have any! :D Although, I apologize if I don’t have messages set up or something like that. “What the hell is taking so long?” Jensen hadn’t stopped pacing the waiting area since he walked in the room. First it was straight lines back and forth, now it had evolved into circles around the set of chairs.

“Jensen, it’s been 45 minutes. This takes 2-4 hours.” Emma said. “Please sit down before you wear a hole in the floor and fall through it.”

“How are you so damn calm?” Jensen asked Emma and Emma grabbed his hand, yanking him over and pulling him down in the chair next to her.

“Dude, I’m not calm at all. That’s my best friend.” Emma laughed. “But I’m also a nurse and I know there’s literally nothing I can do right now. It’s up to the surgeon and to her.”

“She’s right.” Jared approached from behind, throwing a bag of food into Jensen’s lap. “Eat. Both of you. No arguments.”

Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4

A/N: I am shamelessly in love with this story line, even though the writing may not be perfect and I’m really nervous about it. There is a part 2 already posted. This was always designed specifically to be multi-part, I’ll explain that more in the note on part 2. No spoilers.

P. S. This isn’t a Bughead fic by any means so I didn’t tag it as such (I’m sorry, guys), but the pairing is included in part

Summary: Being a newly inducted Serpent comes with unforseen benefits for Riverdale’s most poetic soul, like cool jackets and … personal bodyguards???

Word Count: 3,226

Warnings: gang activity, swearing, drug mentions, (Bughead angst, if that counts as a warning.)

A/N: Shout out to @smolsickficwriter for the assist with the Spanish. I wanted to try out some techniques with moving scenes around to make it more interesting. This is a longer one, but I loved every second of it.

Ultimately, this is another fic for @doublecheckyoself (throws Klance and runs).

“Red? Hey, Girl, it’s just Lance. I know I’m not your paladin, but can we talk?”

The Red Lion loomed, looking out of place with the towering trees surrounding her. Her size against the alien plants mimicked the size of Blue Paladin against her. It was true that Blue was bigger than her, but there was something much more ominous about how the Red Lion wouldn’t stop staring.

Lance very carefully put his hand on the barrier Red put up. It was like touching a glass dome, there was no way he was getting through to her without her consent.

“Red?” Still no response. Her eyes were still locked on him, but she made no movement. He would’ve preferred if she even took a swipe at him.

Lance sighed and knocked on the barrier a few times. Before he could turn around and start to think of another plan, the mechanical whirring of the Red Lion filled his ears. He looked back up at her. From behind her barrier, Red whipped her head and roared. The vibrations shook the barrier and the ground, rustling the alien birds from their homes. Almost every animal in the vicinity perked up and fled. Except for the human in blue paladin armor.

Pidge called out something in his helmet, but Lance shut it off immediately. He was getting somewhere, he couldn’t afford any distractions.

“Hey, easy…easy…” Lance ran his hand up and down the barrier, trying to soothe the giant metal beast, “I’m not gonna hurt you, Girl. You have your barrier up, I can’t hurt you. What’s the matter? We haven’t heard back from Keith in a long while. Is he alright?”

My Boyfriend the Pharaoh

As an aspiring actress, it was not easy to find a job in New York. You’d think jobs would be open all over the place, but with an abundance of acting opportunities came an abundance of extremely qualified super-talented people that somehow always stole the spotlight from you. Of all places, you had never expected your first job to be here.

The New York Museum of Natural History was sort of famous for their amazing night program. The museum, as they said, “came to life” with actors and animatronics and all sorts of amazing special effects, all managed by the “Night Guard”, Larry Daley. And it just so happened that you were friends with his son.

Nicky had hooked you up the minute you mentioned a fascination with the 1940’s.

“It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is sing some songs with the other 40’s girls and maybe talk to the guests a little. Nicky said you know a lot about the 40’s right?”

“World War II is my favorite.” You nodded.

“Perfect.” Larry nodded and showed you where he kept the costumes and had you pick a dress that suited you. Surprisingly, there weren’t very many. Just a sparse collection of clothes from specific eras, particularly the ones that were getting new actors. “All right, so, everything starts up an hour after sundown. Just be there like fifteen minutes before opening.”

“Will do. Thank you so, so much, Mr. Daley.”

“See you tonight.”

The Victory Rolls had been nearly impossible to put in, but you thought they looked pretty good, although, at this point, your hair was more hairspray and pins than it was hair. You topped off the look with some simple eyeliner wings and red lipstick and then walked in the door fifteen minutes before they opened for their night session.

It was as though history had thrown up in the lobby.

People from several different eras were walking through the museum to get everything ready. And it took you a while to find a familiar face, but finally, you found Nicky. He was standing at the DJ booth talking to a man wearing a tall golden headpiece and a shimmering orange cape. The moment his eyes fell upon you, they widened. A small smile pulled at his lips.

“Nicky, where’s your Dad?”

“Woah, (Y/N), I barely even recognized you!” He looked pretty impressed. “Nice…hair.”

“Thank you.”

“I don’t know where Dad went.” Nicky looked around for a second before noticing the look on his Egyptian friend’s face. “Buuut, I can introduce you to this guy! (Y/N), this is-”

“I am Ahkmenrah, fourth king of the fourth king.” He took your hand in his own, and instead of shaking it as you had expected, he brought it to his lips. Your cheeks had never burned so bright. “And it is a pleasure to meet someone so beautiful.”

“Wow, is everyone here so into character?” there was a crack in your voice as you replied. “N-nice to meet you too. You’re…hot. Oh my God, did I just say that out loud?” Nicky smiled, as did Ahk. “I gotta go, byeeeee.” You started to walk away and eventually ran right into Larry.

“You okay, (Y/N)? Your face is all red.”

“I’m f-fine. Where do you want me?”

***

The night gig was fun, you decided. You got to sing with a 1940’s trio and then teach kids about World War II. And a few hours before sunrise, when the night hours were officially over, you were once again greeted by the handsome Pharaoh.

“Hi there.” You cursed the crack in your voice.

“So how did your first night on the job go?”

“It was amazing. I don’t think I’ve had this much fun in a long time.” He smiled at your response.

“I hope that means I’ll see you again tomorrow.”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Perhaps I could show you around my exhibit sometime.” He suggested.

“I’d like that. A lot.” You yawned and then glanced at a watch. It was waaaaay past your bedtime. “Goodness, I’ve gotta get home and go to bed. But thanks for the chat. I’ll see you tomorrow?”

He smiled. “Definitely.”

***

Because the night program only ran Friday and Saturday nights, it was with a heavy heart that you started to pack up your stuff after your shift at the museum. The few months you had been working there had felt magical. There was no way to describe it. And now that you had to face another week without him- I mean working, it was bittersweet, to say the least.

One of the storage rooms had become a sort of dressing room/lounge for yourself and the other performers. That was where you were as you packed your duffle bag with your costume and makeup and hair supplies.

“I thought I might find you here.” You looked to the door to find Ahk standing there with a beautiful flower in his hand. “I was wondering if you might want to accompany me tomorrow evening.”

“Me?” You looked around, a finger pointing to your chest. He nodded and took a step closer. His large hand gently wrapped your own around the stem of the flower.

“There is no one whose company I would like more.” His voice was soft, and his eyes were warm as they met yours. He leaned closer to whisper in your ear, and as he did so, his breath ghosted across your cheek, causing a shiver to run up your spine. “Meet me here after sundown.”

“A-all right. Will do. Can’t wait.”

“Neither can I.” He smiled and left the lounge, a proud expression etched into his handsome features. Nicky was waiting for him just down the hall.

“So…?”

“She said yes!” Ahk’s calm and collected demeanor shattered to pieces, and all of his relief bubbled to the surface. He would have been one brokenhearted mummy if you had said no. “Now tell me, what must I do to make (Y/N) happy?”

“Dude, I think she’d be happy watching paint dry as long as it was with you.”

“Perfect. Where do I get some paint?”

“Figure of speech. I don’t know…I could bring you a few movies and you could set up the projector down the hall.” Nick smirked and shook his head as it finally hit him. “I can’t believe my best friend is dating a mummy.”

“But…perhaps we should keep that last part between us for the time being.”

“You got it, dude. But…(Y/N) is smart. She’ll figure it out sooner or later.”

***

You showed up to the museum the next night wearing something casual and comfy but definitely date night attire. You did not, however, expect Nicky to be the first person you saw.

“Good, you’re just in time.” He said. You looked around at all of the activity in the museum. You had sort of expected the place to be empty, but instead, about 80% of the night staff was here wandering around in full costume.

“What’s going on? Why is everyone here?”

“Um, I’m not sure.” Nicky lied. He punched something into his phone and then looked back up at you. “Anyway, Ahk is up this way.”

“Is his-” Nick looked to you, stopping in his tracks. “Nevermind.”

“What?”

“Is his name really Ahkmenrah?”

Nicky was quiet for a long moment. This was the first time you suspected something was up.

“Y-yeah. Haven’t you ever met anyone named Ahkmenrah? I know like four of them.”

“Oh. Okay then. Didn’t realize it was that common a name.” You paused. “I guess.”

You followed Nicky up the stairs and into the room where Ahk was waiting. He looked so different than you were used to, dressed in street clothes instead of his very regal Pharaoh garb. His long shimmering cape and colorful beads had been replaced instead with a gray hoodie and some jeans. His face lit up at the sight of you, and he immediately got up from the couch he and Nick had dragged into the room not long before.

“Hi.” He waved shyly. “You…you look very beautiful.”

“Thank you,” You blushed and tucked a lock of your hair behind your ear.

“Nick helped me in selecting some films I thought you might enjoy.” He said, motioning to a small stack of DVDs sitting on the table beside the projector.

“Thank you, Nicky.” You gave your friend’s chest a little shove before taking a few steps toward Ahkmenrah. You looked through the stack and then picked a romantic comedy and popped it in. Ahk sat down on the couch, heart racing as you took the spot beside him. Then, as Nicky had told him to, Ahk inhaled a large breath, stretched, and then wrapped an arm around your shoulders. You leaned into his strong chest, basking in his warmth.

“I like seeing you this way,” Ahk confessed after some time, “you seem more…you.”

“What, you don’t like the Victory Rolls?” you teased, giving him a little nudge. He laughed. “No, I feel. They’re fun, but they’re a hassle. My hair is much softer without all the spray.”

“I agree.” He smirked. “And though you seem quite comfortable on the stage, I much prefer the sight of you in my arms.”

“I do too.” You nuzzled in closer to him.

“(Y/N)?”

“Yes?”

“There is something I must tell you, but I fear you would not believe me.”

“Okay.” This was the second time you suspected something was up.

“But I swear to you, I would not lie.” His eyes locked into yours and it was as though he was staring into your soul. Your heart fluttered. For a moment, you thought you might explode. The world stopped, and when he removed his arm from around your shoulders to take both of your hands, you could finally see the fear in his seemingly ancient eyes. His fingers wove through your own, gripping them tightly.

“I trust you, Ahk.” You whispered and gave his hands a squeeze. He smiled gratefully. “What is it?”

“The museum…it’s not-” he paused, arranging the words in his mind. “It’s not exactly ordinary.”

“I figured as much,” You chuckled softly. He was quiet for a moment, thinking. Suddenly, an idea struck.

“Come with me.” He stood and led you down the hall, across the second floor, and finally into the Egyptian exhibit. His hand gripped yours tightly as he led you to stand in front of the sarcophagus.

“The tablet of Ahkmenrah?” you asked. Your eyebrows crinkled as you thought it over.

“It’s said to have magical powers that bring the museum to life every night.” He stated, waiting for the pieces to click. “And inside the sarcophagus…” he slowly pushed open the lid revealing…nothing. Nothing but bandages. You gasped.

“Where did the mummy go?” and immediately as the words left your mouth, it finally clicked. The mummy was standing beside you, holding your hand. “Oh my God.”

“Are you all right?” he asked with concern.

“How are you even-” you looked him over, bringing a hand up to stroke the soft skin of his face. It felt so real. Too real to be dead. You pressed your ear to his chest, and sure enough, his heart was beating, racing even. “I don’t understand.”

“Every night for thousands of years, I’ve come to life again because of the tablet. And yet, I’d never felt truly alive…until I met you.” One of his hands rose to caress your cheek. “I promise to treat you like the queen you are…if you’d have me, that is.”

There were a few moments of silence as you looked into his eyes. And then, nodding rapidly, you rushed into his embrace.

“Yes, Ahk. A million times, yes.” You held him tighter than you had ever held anyone, afraid that he would suddenly slip away.

“I take it it went well?” Nick poked his head around the entrance of the exhibit. You rested your head against Ahk’s chest as you turned to look at your friend.

“You could say that, yes,” Ahk told him with a smile.

“Nicky, my boyfriend is a Pharaoh.” You couldn’t help but laugh a little as you said it. It was unbelievable. Impossible. And yet, here he was.

“Thank you, Nicky, for introducing me to the love of my life.”

“Yeah, yeah, don’t mention it.” He smirked. “If you need me, I’ll be downstairs partying with the others.” He walked off, leaving the two of you alone.

“What would you like to do now, my love?” he asked, his voice merely a whisper.

“Just hold me.” You gripped him tightly, and he held you fast against his chest.

“I can certainly do that.”

*Bonus*

The following evening, you arrived at the museum precisely five minutes before sundown. When Larry opened the door, you were one of the last people he had expected to see.

“What are you doing here? Work isn’t until Friday night.”

“Well, my boyfriend is a mummy that only comes alive at night, so he and I kind of have some time to make up for.” You replied. Larry smiled slowly.

“He told you then, huh?”

“Last night was a bit more eventful than I had expected.”

“Welcome to the madness. It only gets crazier from here.” He handed you a key. “I’ll let you do the honors, then. His royal highness gets kind of impatient while waiting for me to lock up the lions.”

“All right.” You nodded. As you made your way up the stairs, the fun began. Teddy rode off of his platform and off to find Sacagawea and you ran up the steps and into the Egyptian exhibit, where you could hear your boyfriend yelling and pounding on the lid of his sarcophagus.

“LARRY LET ME OUT!” You could barely make out the muffled shouts, but you rushed to shove aside the stone slab, unlock the glass case, and then finally pull the lid off.

“Hey, Ahk, it’s all right.” You stated. His body was fully covered in bandages, and he smelled like an attic, but you didn’t care. You helped him undo the wrappings around his face. As soon as he was free, he turned his head to cough up a cloud of dust. “Good morning, babe.”

“Good evening, my love. Now, if you’d help me undo these wrappings so I can greet you properly, that would be splendid.”

“It’d be my pleasure.” You grinned and pressed a soft kiss against his lips as you pulled his wrappings further off, revealing the rich orange cape and beads that lie beneath. In all of his time, Ahk had learned many things. But he finally knew that after four thousand years, being here with you was where he truly belonged.

Fanfiction - The Teacher II

I had no choice, really. If you missed it, here is part I.

The Teacher II

Claire hesitated in front of the door, the incrusted bronze plate shining with the letters “Professor Fraser”, beckoning her to dare and knock. She breathed deeply and raised her fist to announce her presence.

“Yes?” A voice answered inside, in a lilt that made her stomach explode in a frenzy of millions of bubbles. She half-opened the door in order to peek inside, realizing that he was accompanied by a student, sitting in front of him in what could only be called “the hot seat”. “Ah, it’s ye Miss Beauchamp.”

“Sorry to disturb you, Professor Fraser.” She said in a respectful tone, watching as her colleague – another Health Management student - looked at her with a cry for help in his brown eyes – slightly hazed from too much weed -, his shoulders slumped in mortal shame. “I have some questions about the essay I still have to write for your class. I was wondering if I could go over them with you, sir.”

James Fraser gave her an uninterested look – which could clearly be interpreted as annoyance with her presence – and finally nodded.

“I’ll be with you presently, Miss Beauchamp.” He said dryly. ”As soon as Mister King here understands that copying a page from Wikipedia is not acceptable as an essay. You do realize I have access to the Internet, Mister King?” His eyebrows were raised above the rim of his black eyeglasses, enhancing his disappointment at his student poorly conducted machinations.

“Yes, Professor Fraser.” The boy furiously nodded, a sinner in repentance, his neck slowly disappearing between his shoulders as he tried to bury himself away, escaping those piercing blue eyes. “I am very sorry, sir.”

“I’m sure ye are.” The teacher gave him a lopsided smile, neatly pilling the sheets of paper crossed out in red ink and pushing them in his direction. “You have until tomorrow to deliver a corrected version of this paper, Mister King. I’ll have to grade it for a maximum “B” after this mischief, but it’s certainly better than the current “D” – from disaster.”

He pursed his lips and waited patiently as the student collected his belongings and made the walk of shame towards the door of his office. Claire could barely contain a smile as her colleague grimaced to her, rolling his eyes in despair, his back turned to the punishing master.

“Come in, Miss Beauchamp.” Professor Fraser urged her and, quickly patting Arthur King’s back in comfort, Claire moved inside the office and closed the door behind her. “How can I help ye?” He asked in a dark tone.

He looked serious and poised, his forearms resting on the mahogany table in front of him. His office was clean and discrete, fairly organized with stacks of paper and folders thoroughly aligned and labelled. He had a shelf filled with books behind him, silently complaining with copious overweight – Claire recognized titles from classic economy books but also lots of poetry and historical tomes. Over the years – both in nursing school and now as medical student –, she had been inside many teacher’s offices. There was a tendency for hoarding and to accumulate trinkets and photographs, as they spent so much time working inside them. However, Jamie’s office spoke of order and contention, only a photograph of himself with a dark haired woman – the same blue slanted eyes smiling to the photographer, betraying their kinship – and a small statue of a leaping stag.

“I was wondering if you could explain me again some concepts.” Claire said in strong voice, locking the door from the inside and slowly moving towards his desk. “I’m not sure I’m truly enlighten about them – in spite of our class yesterday.”

“Do ye now?” Jamie quirked a brow, his voice low and dangerous. “I thought I was fairly clear.” He rose from his chair and came around the desk, nearing her like a graceful predator.

“Some things benefit from repetition.” She licked her lips and, smiling widely, sat on his desk – her floral dress hiking up as she went, exposing her fair legs to his eyes, soft and creamy.

“Christ, Sassenach.” His mask of tight control fell – exposing his raw edges underneath it. He moaned and strode towards her in a heartbeat, placing himself between her parted thighs, his mouth punishing hers for the teasing, his hands grasping her curly hair. “I just had ye yesterday, but I want ye so much it hurts already.”

“I want you too.” She panted, as he touched her breast with his strong palm, her nipple already painfully aware of his proximity. “I couldn’t help myself – I had to come. I had to see you, to feel you.”

“When I saw ye standing at my door, I almost lost it.” He groaned, his hands brushing the soft skin inside her thighs, as he kissed and suckled her neck. “And ye – wearing this dress, ye wicked little vixen. I thought I’d throw ye into my desk and take ye, there and then, right in front of Mister King.”

“You’re a very good actor.” She laughed, her hands fumbling with the zipper of his pants. “I could swear you didn’t even like me – least of all wanted to shag me in your office.” Claire yelped as he kneeled in front of her and bit the sensitive skin, moist and heated from his attentions.

“This is madness.” He nuzzled her, his hands gripping her arse to bring her closer to him. “If we behave like uncontrolled teenagers someone will find out. We need to stop seeing each other here.”

A month before they had started seeing each other – meeting for dinner away from campus and taking long walks on secluded parks and on the coastline, where they could hold hands and kiss, languid and carefree. The underlying attraction had been there from the start, they were forced to admit – and their mutual feelings had bloomed into full spring, nurtured by hours of solitude and touches. At first the idea of sneaking around was fun and certainly arousing – but soon enough the burden of pretending indifference had become a permanent struggle and a source of unhappiness.

“You can stop.” Claire suggested teasingly, her lips tasting the hollow of his throat – skilfully undoing the first buttons of his shirt – the pulse of desire emanating from his skin. “I won’t force you, I promise.”

“I canna refuse ye.” He said in a hoarse voice, his accent made more evident by lust and strong emotion, as she struggled to free him from the constraining underwear. “Not today – nor ever, mo ghraidh.”

He played her like a violin – robbing her lips of moans and sobs that echoed in his heart like notes of the purest music, his eyes fixed on the way her beautiful face almost shattered, so close to be undone. Jamie touched her until his own body hurt – a desire so powerful it bordered on excruciating pain -, finally ready to take her. As he adjusted his body to hers, her head lulled back as she surrendered to the eminent joining, a knock on the door sounded – menacing and real, like a sudden tear on active muscle.

Their eyes locked in terror for a moment, their bodies almost fused together, their breathing ragged and superficial.

“Who is it?” Jamie questioned, struggling to compose his voice. He kissed her swollen lips one final – desperate – time and pulled her out of the desk, quickly helping her to adjust her clothes.

“Fraser?” The voice of Professor Raymond came from outside. “I need to discuss with you the program for the summit. May I come in?”

Mallaichte bas!” Jamie cursed, gritting his teeth. “Just a second!” He shouted through the door, composing his own clothes and brushing his hair with trembling fingers. Like two actors in a comical play, Claire launched herself into the chair, searching for her best concentrated and slightly bored look, as Jamie hurried to adjust the crumpled papers on his desk. When everything seemed to be in natural order, they nodded to each other and Jamie opened the door with a pleasant smile plastered on his lips.

“Ah.” The little man, with silver hair and dark all-knowing eyes, noticed Claire sitting like a student in best possible behaviour. “I hadn’t realize you were busy, James.”

“Miss Beauchamp and I were merely discussing her last paper.” Jamie explained, adjusting his glasses. “She had already started it before she transferred to your class.”

“No doubt.” Professor Raymond smiled, clearly amused. His eyes drifted through the room – in spite of their best efforts, Claire’s lips were clearly swollen and her hair even more unruly than usual. Jamie, although composed, had the look of a man battling a cramp in the belly – his eyes wild and fiery, his smile a bit too tense. “I’m sorry if I interrupted your…work.”

“That’s alright, Professor.” Claire raised from her chair and headed to the door, her neck still flushed. “I think I have everything I need for now. Thank you, Professor Fraser. I’ll be sure to deliver my complete work later.”

Both men stared as she waved and disappeared, closing the door behind her.

“Your fly is open, James.” Raymond warned him in an amiable tone and laughed like a content toad, to Jamie’s utter dismay.

****

“Have you asked for me, Professor Mackenzie?” Jamie announced himself, standing on the threshold of Colum MacKenzie’s - the dean of faculty - office.

“Ah, James – yes.” Colum’s calculative gaze turned to Jamie, as he invited him to sit with a brief hand gesture. He was silent for a while, studying Jamie’s cordial face, his hands entwined in thoughtfulness. “I asked ye here because a pressing matter has been brought to my attention.” He finally said, leaning back against his leather covered office chair.

“How may I help?” Jamie furrowed his copper brows.

“Ye can stop seeing Claire Beauchamp.” Colum said in a cutting voice, which froze Jamie’s insides – was he fishing for the truth, expecting him to confirm his suspicions; or did someone actually see him with Claire? He was certain Raymond knew after their encounter in his office, but was confident the man wouldn’t tell a soul due to their friendship.

“That is hardly possible.” Jamie smiled, trying to look relaxed and uncompromised. “She attends this school and I am a teacher here.”

“I was wondering if I had to remind ye of that exact fact.” Colum admonished, harshly. “Someone informed me that you have been involved in some kind of affair with the lass. I couldna believe it. That a teacher – my nephew, no less – would be sae foolish and careless.”

“Who told ye that?” Jamie gripped his fist, hidden bellow the desk, barely containing the anger in his voice.

“It doesna matter.” Colum shook his head, his eyes demanding and judgemental. “Will you deny it, Jamie?”

Jamie endured the assault of his eyes, his own stormy and strong. Eventually, he sighed and shrugged.

“No, I won’t deny it. I’m in love with Claire and I’m dating her.” He confessed, tilting his chin in defiance. Colum hissed like a harassed animal and pursed his lips in discontent. “I’m a professor here but she isna my student – we only got involved when she quit my class. Nothing happened before!” Jamie guaranteed, tapping his fingers on his leg.

“I had hope the girl was lying.” Colum brushed his thinning hair. “How could ye be sae stupid? How could ye overlook what screwing the lass would mean to this school?”

“What we have,” Jamie hissed, adamant. “Is much more than screwing, uncle. Claire is the woman I waited for all my life. I won’t forsake her – not even for yer precious reputation.”

“I see.” Colum breathed through his nose, like a resentful cat. His eyes searched Jamie’s, as they battle their unwavering wills. “In that case ye have a decision to make – let go of the lass or yer days of teaching are numbered.” And with a magnanimous nod of the head, he dismissed him. “Professor Fraser.”

The Gatewatch Have Failed Each Task So Far

There’s been a lot of talk on my feed about how the Gatewatch are just waltzing through the challenges they face like a home-made banner at a pep rally. While they are all currently whole in body, and the perceived threat from each plane is no longer actively threatening, follow me down this line of thought.

The Gatewatch have failed at what they have set out to do, every time.

Their name is synonymous with failure.

———

“FIRE!” Was the only warning Jeremy received before he was violently pushed into a wall by a group of stampeding girls. The party was thrown into chaos as more and more people began to notice the very real threat of a fire as the smoke from the next few rooms began to spread though the residence. Jeremy couldn’t think properly, maybe due to the abundance of teenagers pushing past him or the fact that he had just finished downing a few cans of beer after what had happened with Christine.

The Squip had turned on a few minutes after the incident and had immediately started shouting at him about his reputation, his image and his stupidity. After calming down, the Squip had suddenly felt the need to get Jeremy out of the house, to which Jeremy responded by getting drunk… again.

He wasn’t in the mood for the Squip’s antics and his attempts at getting Jeremy higher on the school map - and leaving the party at that very moment wouldn’t have benefitted him anyway. He had still asked out Christine and she had still said no. That was that, there was no point running from it - or at least, that’s what Jeremy thought the Squip was taking about.

Now, stood in the midst of all this mess, he knew exactly what had happened. The Squip must have seen a future in which a fire had started and told Jeremy to leave the building before it got out of control. God, if he had only listened. But now wasn’t the time for dawdling. Rubbish sudden sense of adrenaline, Jeremy pushed through the crowd and once everyone was through into the living room he shut the door tight, barricading it with a sofa chair. He tried to calm everyone down but it was no use, no one could hear him shout over the sound of screaming and mass panic. All the guests of the party were trying to squeeze through the tiny front door of Jake’s house which was clearly not working. At this rate, the fire would catch up to them in no time.

Spotting the large glass window through which he could see the party people running out of the house in panic, Jeremy grabbed onto the nearest throwable hard item and launched it at the window, smashing it instantly. The sound was enough the gain the attention of the majority of the crowd, now aware of the second escape route. Jeremy cleared out the remaining shards of glass before ordering half of the crowd to exit through there, an order they happily complied with.

Jeremy stood on the sofa, coughing into his cyborg costume as the fumes from the room next door began to seep through. He spotted Jake outside, dragging something on his shoulders and limping to safety. That something was clearly Rich, Jeremy could recognise that fashion sense anywhere. He knew that the girls had left the party early after the earlier fiasco with Chloe and Christine had left with Jenna to take her home safety. That meant that everyone was safe, everyone except…

Michael.

He had left Michael in the bathroom after shouting at him earlier, calling him a loser under the influence of alcohol, lack of Squip and irrational thinking. God, what was he thinking?! That was his best friend for gods sake he needed to find him. He needed to know that he was ok.

Racing towards the door, Jeremy pulled out his phone and dialled the number he had memorised since childhood. He turned and watched the burning house as he ran out into the crisp cold. Everyone seemed to have made it out, which was good except… Michael wasn’t answering. Jeremy stared down at the blank screen on his phone, Michael always answered!

He tried to reason with himself. ‘Of course he wouldn’t answer, you called him a loser!’ Jeremy told himself, and it made sense. Michael had all the right in the world to be upset with him so of course he wouldn’t answer his call. He probably went straight home after their argument and was in his basement right now getting high. Still… what if…

Jeremy pulled up his iMessage and started typing frantically:

“Ok I know you’re still mad at me and you have every right to be I was an asshole and a prick and I deserve all of this but please just listen for a sec and text me back. It doesn’t have to be anything, just a blank message, a middle finger emoji I DONT CARE! Just- trust me when I say I really need to hear from you right now. Please Michael.”

A few minutes later, Jeremy was getting restless. The flames were getting bigger and bigger and there was no denying that everyone who could have gotten out had… but…

Suddenly, his phone lit up with the familiar ringtone of the Apocalypse of the Damned soundtrack, level nine to be exact. Their favourite. Jeremy’s heart did a double take when he saw the caller ID. His fingers immediately went to pick up the phone.

“MICHAEL! Oh thank god I was so worried. Something happened at the party and there’s a fire and I thought for a split second that… you… Michael?”

Michael wasn’t responding. All Jeremy could hear was a soft, crackling noise at the other end of the call.

“Michael!” He said again, a little louder.

Suddenly, a voice came thorough.

“Jeremy- can you… me?” It was faint, and there was barely anything there but Jeremy could recognise his best friend’s voice anywhere.

“Michael what’s going on? Are you ok?”

“…. it’s locked Jer-…. can’t…. closer-…. help me!” Michael sounded panicked and distressed, his voice coarse and rough.

Jeremy didn’t need another second to think. He ran back into the flaming building, ignoring all those behind him who were telling him that he was crazy, that he would die. He needed to save his best friend.

“Michael tell me where you are, I’m coming in.” He ordered down the line.

“Bathroom…” he barely heard over the flaming world around him but Jeremy knew exactly where he was; exactly where he had left him. Jeremy threw the barricade off of the door and buried himself and his phone in the cloth of this Halloween costume to prevent anymore smoke filling his lungs.

If the Squip was active right about now, he didn’t want to know what he would say…. he didn’t really care.

“Jeremy…” he heard his best friend whisper in his low yet soft voice, “I’m scared.”

Jeremy’s heart broke in two. He had never heard something like that come out of Michael’s mouth in all the time he knew him. Michael was the highlight of his life, the one good thing that got him through high school and yet he had never seen him without a smile on his face.

“Hang… hang in there Michael I’m almost at the door,” Jeremy tried to comfort his best friend despite the suffocating fumes around him. But he couldn’t hang up the phone, he couldn’t leave his best friend alone. He needed to save him.

Jeremy eventually came to the bathroom door. The flames had made the structure extremely weak so he knew that if he were to force the door open the whole floor might collapse.

“Ok Michael, I’m outside,” he said calmly despite the burning sensation in his lungs. He tried the knob, no dice. The door wasn’t budging. Michael must have locked it from the inside.

“Michael, you have to listen to me. You need to open the door, we need to get out of here now!” Jeremy yelled over the flames, hoping his best friend would hear him through both the phone and the thick walls.

He waited a few seconds until he heard the soft click of the door. Flying it open, he threw his phone to the ground and ran into the bathroom, cloth still covering up most of his face from the smoke.

Michael was slumped up against the wall, weak and dying. His eyes were closed and his hand was gripped over his hoodie which he had zipped right up to his neck to help him breath. Jeremy’s heart skipped a beat before returning to reality and lifting his friend up off the ground.

“Come on Michael, don’t die on me dude.” He whispered, hauling his best friend over his shoulder. Jeremy limped towards the window and smashed it open with his remaining strength, knowing the fire below was now too great for both of them to make it out that way alive. The drop from the bathroom wasn’t too bad, considering it was situated on the second floor. Jeremy could see a reasonable sized bush below which would break at least some of their fall.

“Ok Michael, look at me. Open your eyes and look at me, we have to jump ok?” He shook his best friend awake who barely responded with a brief nod. Jeremy could only take that before he climbed out the tiny window and threw himself out of the house.

——-

Michael slowly opened his eyes as the voices all around him started to invade his mind. He didn’t want to, they hurt like hell, but he knew that he should. His whole body hurt too, he felt like he had just thrown himself into a fire. Ironic, once he realised what had happened.

Michael was lying on the concrete pavement just outside of Jake’s burning residence. The sounds of firetrucks sirens filled the air as the vehicles drew closer to extinguish the flames. The sounds of drunk teens also filled the air, telling Michael that at least most of the party must have escaped the fire.

He slowly sat up despite the pain, wanting to get a better perspective of the situation, but was stopped by a hand abruptly meeting his chest. He looked up to meet the bright blue eyes of his best friend, who looked just as worse for wear. His costume was burnt to the brim and his hair was disheveled and filled with ash. He smelt like smoke, a drastic change from the sweet vanilla scent that Michael was used to. Before he could say anything, Jeremy’s eyes started to fill with tears. He clutched onto Michael’s hoodie as he launched himself at his best friend.

The two sat there, on the pavement, embraced in each others arms. The rest of the world was a blur, it was just him and Jeremy. Nothing else mattered but him and Jeremy.

A/N: I wish I could introduce him to my family. I wish I had a boyfriend. I wish I could have Jughead. I wish Jughead could have happiness.

“So… my grandma is coming in from out of town.” I say to my boyfriend of almost a year, walking hand in hand to Pop’s: our hangout place every Friday night after school. It’s my subtle way of hinting that I finally want him to come and meet my family.

He looks at me for a moment before pursing his lips. He doesn’t answer right away, and I’m worried he’s going to say no again. I’ve invited him over a few times before, and each time something has come up. He’s either been too busy working the case or he’s working on late homework. I’ve let it slide, as I know that he’s not really much of a people person, but I’m almost positive that my family will love him, so I don’t know what he’s so afraid of.

“Really?” he finally answers, the glow of the fluorescent bulbs lighting up both of our faces.

“Yes really,” I lightly shove him in the shoulders, making him chuckle as a smile spreads across my face, “and I was wondering… “

“Yeah?” he asks, and I can tell that he’s definitely trying to play dumb, avoiding the inevitable.

“… if you would finally come meet my family? Not just my grandma, but my parents too.” I tell him, hope filling my voice. We enter Pop’s with a little ring from the door and a greeting from the man himself.

We make our way to our usual booth, and Pop already has a milkshake out to us before we have time to sit down, a part of our usual.

Jughead takes a long sip, looking from me back down to the straw back to me.

I clear my throat, trying to non-verbally cue him that I’m still waiting for an answer. He looks at me with wide, questioning eyes, as if he doesn’t know what I want from him.

I purse my lips and narrow my eyes at him, giving him a small smirk as i take the milkshake from him, sipping until it becomes slightly uncomfortable.

“Fine, okay, I’ll meet them.” he says, holding his hands up in surrender.

I pull my head up from the straw in the milkshake and give a triumphant smile, pulling my shoulders back and sitting a little taller.

His features look stressed, like he’s worried or nervous about the decision he just made. I can tell that he’s doing this just mainly for me.

“Hey,” I say sincerely, reaching my hand across the table, “thank you.”

He nods, looking down at our hands. He encases mine and brings it up to his lips, pressing a small kiss on top. His smile when he pulls away tells me that he will be okay.

A week later, the day my grandma arrives. He’s nervous, and I can tell. I don’t see him at all at school, which is very unusual. I go home to start to get myself ready, the dinner is less than a few hours away.

I turn on some light music as I pick out an outfit. It’s not too much, just a simple sundress and light tights and flats, since we’re not leaving the house. I’m putting on some simple stud earrings when I hear a light tapping on my window.

Only one thing ever makes that sound at my window, so I don’t even have to turn around to know who it is.

“It’s open, babe.” I say loud enough so Jughead can hear through the glass.

A wait a moment to make sure he heard me, and I know he did because I hear the window sliding up and him making his way through the opening.

I turn around a moment later and nearly have to do a double take.

Jughead still adorns his signature beanie, but somehow pulls it off while also wearing a suit with a light blue tie. He looks at me and shrugs, a small smile coming over his face.

“Wow.” I say, walking over to him and putting my hands on his arms, his hands tucked inside his pockets.

“Aren’t I supposed to be the one who’s stunned by you?” he asks, joking around with me. His hands come out from his pockets and go to my waist, pulling me in close.
“Screw gender norms.” I say quietly, “you clean up well, Jughead Jones.”

“I hope so.” he says back before placing a small peck on my lips. I break away to put on my other earring and a necklace.

“You look great.” I say again, looking at him in the mirror. He’s staring back as if he’s never gotten a compliment before, and I can read all over his face that he’s not sure how tonight will go, and that he’s terrified my family won’t like him. He raises his eyebrows at me, knowing that I’m analyzing him, “Don’t give me that look, my family will love you.”

“Will they?” He asks, putting his hands back in his pockets, resuming a comfortable position.

“Jughead, of course they will.” I tell him, turning around to face him. Sometimes he can be so stubborn, it takes forever to get something through his head.

“But you’re so… so…” he says, struggling to find the words.

“So what?” I ask, a small laugh escaping, this is the first guy I’ve ever brought home to my parents, so I’m just as nervous about how everything will go. I have no doubts my parents will love him, and I have no doubt that he will also be great, but I can’t help the butterflies in my stomach at the prospect of this evening, “Do you even want to do this?” I look down at my feet, unable to meet his gaze.

“What?” he asks, taking a step closer to me.

“Do you want to meet my family?” I ask again. I want to make sure that he’s okay with it, but I can sense hesitation in his answer. He’s not confident about it at all.

“Of course, (Y/N), I just-”
“Jug, my family and I are a package deal, and them not meeting you sooner was your doing.” I cut him off,  “I know you’re nervous, but if you don’t want to do this, then turn around and head back out that window, but if you want this, if you want me, then I’ll see you downstairs.” with that, I turn around and head down the stairs, leaving the door open behind me.

I go into the dining room to see that my grandma has arrived, and I immediately go to give her a hug.

“Where’s the boy I’m supposed to be meeting?” she asks, sitting down at her place on the table.

I stand there for a moment, not exactly sure what to say. I hear footsteps come down the stairs, though and turn around to see Jug standing there.

“I’m right here.” he says with a pleasant smile, going over to shake hands with her.

So far, so good.

My parent come out and meet him as well. They’ve technically met him before, but it’s just been in passing up and down my room when he uses the front door, and whenever we walk together and he picks me up.

We all take our seats and I know just from watching my grandma that she can tell something’s up. I try to shake it off as the dinner is spread before us. My mom sits down and sighs, looking everything over.

“Dig in.” she says with a smile and a gesture. I wait for the barrage of questions Jughead is probably expecting, but it doesn’t come.

The oven beeps and my mom looks up, “The rolls, I almost forgot!” she says, about to get up before my grandma stops her.

“I’ll do it” she says, slowly standing from her chair, not taking no for an answer. She looks over to me and motions towards the kitchen, “why don’t you help me, (Y/N)?”

You take that as your cue to follow, going into the kitchen with her and helping her get the rolls out of the oven and place them in a small bowl.

“Spill.” she says softly.

“What?” I ask, trying to feign innocence.

“Something’s not right between you two, what is it?” she puts her hands on her hips.

“We just had a small little fight upstairs, grandma, it’s nothing really.” I try to play it off like nothing, but once it leaves my lips I know I’ve made a mistake. She’s not going to let it go.

“A fight?” she asks, raising her eyebrows, “huh.”

“He was just nervous about tonight.” I reason.
Without another word, she marches back out to the table, leaving me to carry the rolls out. I place them on the table and take my seat next to Jughead once more.

A few minutes pass in silence, everyone enjoying their food.

“So,” my grandma starts, “What is this I hear about not wanting to meet me?”

I put my head in my hands, wanting to disappear. This is not what I thought the first question of the night would be. I thought it would be something like, ‘what are your interests?’ ‘how are you?’ but nope, grandma has to start with the elephant in the room.

“Uhm- I-” He stammers, looking at me for suggestions, but I’m at just a loss as he is.

“Don’t stress yourself out about it, boy.” grandma says with a small laugh, “I was just wondering why you’re so nervous. I’m not really something that’s that scary.”

Jughead relaxes, but only a little bit, at my grandma’s half-joke.

I peak out of my fingers to see him take a deep breath, looking down and then looking at my grandma right in the eye.

“I love (Y/N).” he states, as if it’s fact, “and I know that she loves her family. I don’t want to mess anything up, seeing as I’m not the most socially-active person. Sometimes, with how amazing she is, being involved in nearly everything and still have time to spend with me and treat me with so much love and compassion, I wonder what I did to deserve her. Because I don’t. Deserve her, that is.”

I look up at him, and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have a boyfriend as amazing as him. I take his hand in mine under the table, and then he finally looks over at me. Our eyes lock and everything else melts away.

“Well,” my grandma interrupts our moment, making both of us look at her, “from that look I just saw her give you, I know that she thinks she doesn’t deserve you.”

He looks at me for confirmation and I give him a small nod. He squeezes my hand under the table, and I know all of our issues involving this night have been resolved.

“And-” I say, pulling his full attention, “that I love you too.”

His grip tightens, and I can nearly feel his heartbeat quicken at the words.

Both of my parents look at each other and mumble about needing to be in the kitchen. The get up and rush out of their chairs, leaving my grandma slowly getting up as well. She winks at me as she goes down the hallway to the bathroom.

He looks back at me from the commotion that just took place and I let out a small laugh.

“That’s your cue to kiss me, Jughead.”

A real, genuine smile overtakes his face as his hand cups my cheek, pulling me in closer and placing a kiss on my lips. It’s soft and gentle, but it definitely holds a promise of more once we’re actually alone.

Looking back at the night’s events, it couldn’t have gone better.

I believed that I had a led quite a normal life, you know, besides being a ‘princess’ but that was besides the point. My parents had hidden me from the spotlight; they saw how my brother suffered and didn’t want me to have to experience the same thing. People would throw themselves at him, left, right and centre; it looked ever so uncomfortable, he never leaves his home now, too scared to make a move and one move could be the end of his image.

I on the other hand lived as normally as possible, of course, once every now and then I had to dress up and act like the role I was assigned at birth but most days I was just me, a uni student, nothing special and I liked it that way. It was comfortable and safe.

“Hey, ___. Jimin’s throwing a party tomorrow, wanna come?” Hazel asked me as she threw off her unnecessarily big coat. “Yeah, I’ll come, if you don’t appear with that thing.” “What’s wrong with it?” she asked me, disbelief in her eyes, as if I had just killed her whole family. “It’s the middle of summer and you look like you’re ready to hibernate. Wear something a little less warm tomorrow, will you?” I joked as I hung the big coat up. “I will, I just wanted to feel fancy and royal on campus, you know like you on the weekend.” “Dude, I’m not royal on the weekend.” I laughed at her ridiculous comment, of course she know that I was royal, the two of us had grown up together, so she knew all of my secrets. She was shocked when I told her I was going to live with her in uni; she made this whole fuss, it was quite funny to watch her.

“Okay, sorry, your Highness.” she sarcastically called from the kitchen. “Make me a sandwich as well, will you?” “Your wish is my command, your Highness.” “Fuck you!” I said as I entered the kitchen to pour Hazel and myself some ice tea. “So, who’s going to the party?” I asked Hazel as she spread butter on the slice of bread. “Apparently, Jimin’s invited everyone and there’s someone he wants us to meet, I forgot his name but he’s quite chill apparently. A bit strange at times but a nice guy. That’s what I’ve heard anyway.” she told me as she put her finishing touches on the sandwiches. “I can’t wait to see who this mysterious guy is.” I joked as I took the cups into the living room and placed them on the coffee table. “If he’s hot, would you date him?” she asked as she placed my sandwich plate in front of me.

“You know I’m not looking to date.” I told her, before I took a bite out of her sandwich. “But what about a fling? You’ve had those, right?” she asked me. “I’ve not touched a soul.” I laughed as I switched the TV on. “You haven’t done anything, with anyone? Not even kiss? I thought you would have had some secret fling that you were keeping from me but you’re so honest with me that I know nothing’s happened.” she pouted as she flipped through the channels. “If he’s nice I guess I’d give him a shot, but not long term. You know what my parents are planning, I’ve agreed to it already.” I said as I rolled my eyes at the thought of marrying someone I didn’t know. “You trust them, right? They’ll hook you up with someone who’s good for you, he’ll treat you well and if he does lay a finger on you, he’ll catch these fists.” she joked as she pulled me into her body for an embrace.

The Donor Story - Part 4

*Alphys asks Faris to remove his trench coat and boots, then go lie down on the hospital bed as she leaves to arrange the equipment needed for the transplant. Faris does as he’s told and rests on the bed. Yousra stands beside him, taking his hand to assure him that she’d be there with him throughout the operation. Faris looks at her and forces a smile. He couldn’t help but still be nervous. His attention shifts when he hears Alphys return, rolling a machine into the room. She places it between the two beds, careful not to hit the other existing devices that were monitoring Andrew*

Yousra: *glances at her* What is that?

Alphys: *steps back* Th-This? *pats the machine* This is a transfusion device. It was used primarily for blood transfers, but I modified this one specifically for soul transplants. A little something I prepared just for your friend. It’s concealed with magic, so it can be used like an incubator to avoid soul degeneration. A-After what happened to part of his soul fragment, I had to craft something that would keep the rest of his fragment intact during the transplant, s-so I thought a blood transfusion device would suffice~ I made sure to have it sterilized before we use it *she then comes close to Faris’ side* Now Faris, when we do the transplant, you will be put under sedation. I-It’ll help you relax, and you won’t be awake while your fragment’s being transported. But before we can proceed, I-I want to be sure that you are absolutely okay with this.

Faris: *looks across the room toward Andrew* Do you think that the magic I have stored in my fragment will be enough to heal him..?

Alphys: Magic does wonders, e-even in small doses. I-It’s been proven to cure human ailments, including cancer. I’m positive your magic alone will heal his body *her brows crease as she looks over Faris’ doubtful expression* Are you that concerned about your magic?

Faris: It’s just… In my past life, our former human ruler fell gravely ill, and none of our magic could heal him.. I’m worried that I won’t be able to heal the donor..

*Alphys frowns over the mentioning of the former ruler, and she bows her head, her eyes downcast*

Papyrus: *barges into the conversation* Faris, haven’t you heard??

Faris: *looks over at Papyrus* About what?

Papyrus: The latest update on human hist..or..ee..? *he quiets down when he sees Alphys wave her arms at him, signaling him to not talk about it right now* Ah.. Err.. Nevermind..?

Faris: Okay, what’s going on? What is it you two aren’t telling me?

Alphys: *flinches, and she turns around with a broken smile* Ah… I-It’s nothing. Now’s not the time to really be bringing it up. W-We’ll talk about it after the transplant.

*Faris squints at her. What was Papyrus about to say? Maybe it really wasn’t the best time to talk about it.. so he let it slide for now*

Faris: ..Fine..

Alphys: N-Now don’t worry about your magic. As I said before, magic has helped m-many patients before Andrew. Trust me, I doubt you’ll have any complications.

Faris: ..Okay.. If you say so.

Alphys: So.. are you ready for this?

*Faris doesn’t speak up. He just gives a little nod*

Alphys: Okay.. *she shifts over to gather an oxygen mask* I’m going to secure this over your mouth. It will help you fall asleep *she fastens the mask over Faris’ face*

Faris: *voice muffled by the mask* Will this hurt?

Alphys: You shouldn’t feel any pain. O-Of course, I don’t know how it’ll be for you once your fragment is completely separated from Sans’ soul.

Faris: How comforting…

Alphys: W-We’ll try to make your passage quick and safe for you.

Faris: Mm..

*his eye sockets begin to droop. The sedative is starting to take effect on his consciousness. His grip on Yousra’s hand loosens. Yousra strokes his head with her free hand to help soothe him. Alphys steps away to meet with Andrew on the other side of the room. She has the sedative travel from the ventilator straight into his airway through the nasal cannulas. Andrew gazes up at her*

Andrew: You’ve been a good doctor and a wonderful friend, Dr. Alphys.. Thank you for taking care of me..

Alphys: *she smiles and wipes behind her glasses when she feels a bit of water well up in her eye* You stayed strong, Andrew. I’m very proud of you..

*Andrew smiles, then shuts his eyes. He sinks back into his pillow, falling into a deep sleep*

Alphys: Goodbye, Andrew.. *she runs her hand over his scalp, then checks on the monitor, making sure that he is stable. She remains silent as she prepares the transplant. She places her hand close to Andrew’s chest, and in time Andrew’s soul emerges from within. It displays a triad of colors: orange, green, and blue. Alphys takes a thin tube from the transfusion device, tipped with a needle, and she carefully sticks the needle into his soul. She then goes over to Faris and repeats, sticking another needle into the dark spot of the soul. She stands by her machine and has her hand hovered over the switch*

Alphys: …Here we go… *she activates the machine*

*The machine warms up before it starts extracting the darkness from V(Sans)’s soul. As the dark spot shrinks, it is replaced by a faint grey color, as if the fragment was leaving behind a bruise mark. Once the soul is completely filtered of the darkness, the smoke stops flowing from underneath Faris’ eyelids. Faris’ fragment now resides in the machine as it is being transported straight into Andrew’s soul*

***

*Faris’ eyes open. He wakes up in a vast, empty space. He looks around him*

Faris: Where.. am I..?

???: So.. this is what you really look like.

*Faris turns toward the source of the voice and finds a young man standing before him. Wavy blonde locks cover over his forehead, and his eyes shine like emeralds. His jawline is masked by thin hairs. He’s wearing a vertically striped long sleeve and tight pants. Faris cocks his head, then looks down at his own hands. They are clawed and seeping smoke, just like his original form.. He has entered into Andrew’s preconscious, taking on the appearance of his original body. Who he saw before him must have been how Andrew looked before the sickness overtook him*

Andrew: That’s pretty cool.. You hold a close resemblance to the Chiroptera. You know, bats?

*Faris swipes his hand over the smoked fluff around his neck*

Faris: I’m very familiar with that comparison.. *he scans Andrew from head to toe* So.. you are the donor.

Andrew: *outspreads his arms* Surprise, heheh.. Yeah… It’s amazing what the treatments can do to you when you’re fighting cancer.

Faris: Sorry..

Andrew: Come on, don’t give me that guilt. It isn’t your fault.. These things.. they just happen when you least expect it.. and.. it sucks.. So that’s why you gotta live life to the fullest, ‘cause you never know what could happen down the road.

Faris: ..Yeah..

*Andrew approaches him, extending a hand out*

Andrew: I want you to take good care of this shell.. and take good care of yourself. You’ve got family out there waiting for you.

Faris: *looks down at Andrew’s hand, then up at his face* Thank you–

Andrew: *smiles* Andrew *calls himself*

Faris: ..Faris..

Andrew: *bobs his head* Good seeing you, Faris.

Faris: … *his face loosens into a smile* Same to you.. *he reaches out to take Andrew’s hand, but before he could grasp it, Andrew suddenly vanishes* ..! Andrew? *he looks around* ..Andrew..?! *he notices his surroundings start to waver and misshapen. Even his own appearance was fading in and out* What’s happening..?

***

*Andrew’s monitor starts blaring. Alphys whips her head over to the noise*

Alphys: Oh no… *she rushes over to his side in a panic* No no no no no!

Yousra: *hurries away from V’s body over to Andrew’s* What’s going on??

*A group of hospital employees come crowding into the room. Papyrus’ jaw is agape as he watches the employees scramble. He backs away, giving them space to work. One of the employees pulls the needle out of Andrew’s soul and begins applying pressure to Andrew’s chest in a rhythmic motion using their palms. Another person removes the nasal cannulas and holds a resuscitation bag over Andrew’s mouth, occasionally pumping air into him*

Yousra: What’s happening?!

*a rabbit monster gently pushes Yousra away from the activity*

Rabbit Monster: Miss, I’m gonna have to ask you to stand out in the hall please.

Yousra: Tell me what’s happening! Is Faris okay??

Rabbit Monster: *tries to keep their voice steady* Please do as I say and leave this room now or I will be forced to call security *attempts to guide Yousra out, but she slaps them away with her scarf*

Yousra: No! I told Faris that I would be with him!

Papyrus: *puts his hand on her shoulder* Yousra…

*Yousra glances up at Papyrus, her eyes glazed over. Her body trembles, trying to keep her composure. Papyrus looks back at her with sympathetic eye sockets. Another hospital worker, this time a human male, forces the two out of the room*

Human male: We’ll do what we can for your friend. Please wait out here *he hurries back inside, sliding the door shut and pulling the curtain so Yousra and Papyrus can’t see*

*Yousra stares at her own reflection on the glass. She looks terrified. She had no idea what was going on, but she hoped that Faris would pull through okay. Being separated from him like this made her feel sick. She gets down on her knees and bundles herself in her scarf*

*back inside the room, the hospital workers strip Andrew’s body of his patient gown, exposing primarily his chest area. The human male charges up a defibrillator and asks everyone to back away as he places the electrode pads over the chest and sends a shock into Andrew’s body*

***

*Faris is frantically looking around as the empty world around him is collapsing. For a brief second, he spots Andrew before him. His figure flickers a few times before it takes on a solid form again*

Faris: Andrew? What happened??

Andrew: Th-There’s no time.. please.. you must claim my body now.. or we’ll both die *his hand is shaking as he reaches for Faris’*

*Faris watches him, then firmly grasps his hand. Just as they make contact, they are both swallowed by a bright light*
