and then they immediately put me back to work

semisecond  asked:

What do yah do when he/she doesn't text you back??? 😢😢😢

If you’re actually asking what I do?
..I go about my day and honestly don’t think about it twice. We all got lives to live, we’ll talk when it works out for both of us, or we won’t because they don’t wanna talk, expecting an immediate text back is honestly on a whole other level of weird and unrelatable to me, and expressing that just puts pressure on whoever you’re trying to peruse, which is a great way to get people to not want to interact with ya 🤷‍♀️

It is done and I am so happy with it!

So, you all remember Jack’s Worms video with Robin? I had that up for background noise and tuned back in when Jack made that comment of Anti dancing.  I immediately thought it would be great to actually see that.  So, originally, I was going to do a drawing, but then I realized a drawing wouldn’t work.  So, I got ambitious and decided to do an animation.  Unfortunately, I’ve never made an animation before.  So, I shot a reference video of me dancing to draw over (this will be posted later).  After that, I agonized for days to make a short 3 second animation.  Yay.  It was fun, tho.

I tried to do put more detail into this, but it just did not look right.  So, I stuck with a simple outline with no details in the face.  I tend to like simplicity over complexity anyways.

I still don't know if he ever got his coffee.

I’m not 100% sure this even belongs here and I’ve posted this story elsewhere so some of you might have read it already.

Some background: I work in a rather specialized area of Forensics. Officially I’m employed by Police Scotland but they tend to let other law enforcement agencies, universities, etc borrow us from time to time. A lot of the time it’s for consulting work or guest lecturing but sometimes we’re sent to teach training courses.

About 18 months ago I was asked to lecture at a training course for some of the CID higher-ups in an English Police force. It was the first time I’d done anything like it and I was crapping myself.

I met with the conveners and other officials for dinner the night before my first day, and after dinner and drinks, I was dropped back at my hotel.

So to set the scene; it’s about 10pm, I’m all dressed up in my evening wear and I’m sitting at the bar in the hotel lounge. The place is dead, it’s just me and the barman so I’ve taken off my heels and am unraveling my hair having just ordered a hot chocolate. The barman asks if I want mini marshmallows on my hot chocolate. Yes, of course I want mini marshmallows on my hot chocolate. No I don’t mind waiting while you run to the kitchen.

So I’m sit there trying to trick my phone into connecting to the hotels WiFi when Angry Man walks in.

He stomped into the room and slammed his fist down on the bar about 3 ft from me and barked out one word:

“COFFEE”

I didn’t know it but apparently that attempt at communication was aimed at me; a fact I learned a moment later when Angry Man moved right up next to me, bent over me so his face was practically in mine and barked out again;

“COFFEE”.

In an attempt to get away from the screaming coffee man I slipped off the bar stool, putting it between the two of us. Extremely confused and more than a little terrified, it didn’t immediately occur to me that he thought I worked there, hell it wasn’t even registering that he wanted a coffee. He was just repeating it the same way a toddler does when they learn a new word but don’t entirely know what it means.

I’m going to blame the confusion, fear and tiredness for my completely moronic response, which was to parrot the word back at him.

Me: “Coffee?”

Angry Man: “COFFEE”

Then he slammed his fist down on the bar again. This time I noticed that he was actually throwing down money.

My brain suddenly came back online.

Me: “Oh. Eh, the barman should be back in a sec. H-”

Angry Man: “Get me a coffee. Now.”

Ooooh four new words. Progress.

Me: “I’m sorry, mate, I don’t work here.”

Angry man (shouting now) “You fucking lazy liar!! Do you think I’m fucking stupid?”

Yes, actually, but I’ll be keeping that to myself.

Angry Man: “Get off your fucking phone and get me a shitting coffee”

Me: “I really don’t-”

Cue rant about me being the only person in the lounge so of course I must work there and I was just being lazy and did I take him for an idiot. All while I’m slowly backing away from the bar so he can’t pin me between it and the bar stools. Then he throws in this:

Angry Man: “Do you have any idea who I am? Do you have any idea how important I am?”

I never got to find out how important this guy thought he was. Instead Angry Man’s Friend came wandering in.

He took one look at me; pretty much cornered by Angry Man who is now screaming about how he’ll make sure I never work again while I’m trying to calmly tell him to back off and he tries to intervene.

He took Angry Man by the shoulders and moved him back away from me while asking him what was going on.

Angry Man: “This stupid little whore is refusing to serve me”

Me: “I really don’t work here”

Angry Man’s Friend: “She doesn’t work here. Let’s just all try to calm down”

There was a few moments of Angry Man’s Friend trying to calm Angry Man while he ranted about getting me fired until two barman arrived, one of them with my hot chocolate. The presence of the three men distracted Angry Man enough for me to grab my shoes and escape with my chocolatey goodness.

As I left I could hear him demanding to speak to a manager.

The next day, after being introduced to a lecture theater full of high ranking CID Officers, I stood and walked to the podium only to be greeted by one guy in the audience laughing hysterically.

I just sort of froze trying to figure out the joke. Did I have food on my face? Was my shirt on inside out?

A quick check confirmed that, no. I’d managed to adult that morning.

A few other people began to chuckle as this guy struggled to get a hold of himself. As he regained control he pointed to his left.

Where a very red looking Angry Man was sitting.

I think it was the sheer relief that he wasn’t actually laughing at me that caused me to open my mouth and say to Angry Man;

“Oh did you get your coffee in the end?”

He walked out and I didn’t see him for the rest of the course.

Newt Imagine: “Make Me”

Request: “Hey, can you do and imagine for nr.1 with reader x Newt, please.”
     “Make me.”

Warning: Very slight smut | TMR | Word Count: 1,859 (Hope you like this, this was a pretty quick but fun write so I really hope you enjoy it too!)

The Glade felt like it was on fire. You shifted uncomfortably in your tank top, fanning yourself every few minutes in between your work. The sun was glaring angrily down today, bringing the Gladers into a slow, lazy lull by noon.

“Y/N!” You heard a hoarse voice call you from a distance. You already knew it was Newt, your closest and oldest friend in the Glade, so you didn’t bother to turn around. You were feeling much too tired.

“Y/N!” He called again, this time with a twinge of annoyance at your lack of response. You sighed heavily before turning and squinting unresponsively in his direction. He rolled his eyes, walking towards you steadily, before stopping right in front of you. “Y/N, what are you doing? It’s past noon, Fry needs the meat to start cooking. You’ve been workin’ on that shuckin’ animal for hours now.” He furrowed his brows in seriousness, though his ruffled sandy blond hair and soft brown eyes made it hard to take him seriously.

You sighed and looked at him carefully. “I’m on it, I’m on it… It’s just so shucking hot, Newt. I can barely focus.”

Newt eyed the sweat beading on the side of your face and the hair clinging to your forehead stubbornly. “Alright, love, finish what you’re working on and then go take a shower. That ought to cool you down.”

You huffed and began slicing up the last bits of meat, hurrying to get them to Frypan.

————————————–

As soon as you stepped into the cold shower, you shuddered with relief, half shaking from the freezing sensation, and half relieved to finally feel clean again. You didn’t worry about being the only girl in the Glade, because you had, more than once, proved yourself capable of taking care of anyone who dared try anything with you. Sure it had landed you in the Slammer once or twice, but that was a small price to pay for being able to take a shower in peace. No one had ever bothered you when you were in there except…

“Y/N,” that same voice called out. You groaned. You had never been so annoyed to hear Newt in your entire time in the Glade.

“What now?” You yell angrily over your shower. “Can’t I just have one moment of peace today, Newt, at least in the shower?”

Newt paused to stand in front of the showers on the other side of the barrier, not facing your direction. “Fry said he asked you to slaughter two animals, but he’s short on meat for the bonfire tonight. Any idea why?”

You grumbled and turned off the shower, accepting you weren’t going to ever be able to properly finish it anytime soon. You grabbed the towel to your side and wrapped it around you before padding your way out to face Newt, glaring angrily. Newt awkwardly looked in your direction, trying not to glance below at your body, even though you two were usually comfortable with each other, being best friends.

“No, Newt, I have no idea why –” You stopped short as it hit you. You remembered that in your anticipation to take a shower you had forgotten the second chicken… “Shuck.” You muttered only, biting your lip.

Newt raised an eyebrow. “Something the matter, Y/N?”

You roughly pushed past him, colliding shoulders with his. “Nothing’s the matter, Newt,” you snapped. “Go away.”

“Y/N,” Newt warned slowly, lowering his voice slightly, though it became raspier than ever because he was so parched. The heat was clearly getting to him, too. “Y/N, come back here.”

You continued walking.

“Y/N, don’t you dare walk away from me!” Newt shouted at you, though you were already halfway to the Homesteads now.

You shrugged simply and waved sassily back. “Watch me, Newt!” You called back out to him.

As quick as a whip, Newt ran up to you, grabbing your arm and swinging you around to face him. “Y/N, I am your second in command, you will do as I say,” he ordered you roughly.

You made a face and pulled yourself out of his grasp. “Make me,” you challenged, sticking your tongue out at him, and before Newt could even react, you turned and started running in the opposite direction. You clung to your towel desperately, regretting not putting on clothes immediately. You swore to yourself, but refused to look back to see if Newt was gaining ground on you; he undoubtedly was: even with his limp, you were encumbered by the towel, forced to run slower. As his unmistakable footsteps began grow louder behind you, you flung yourself into your hut and shut the door, though you knew that couldn’t keep him out for long.

Newt pounded on the door in a split second. “Y/N! Don’t make me barge in there. I will drag you out of there myself if that’s what it takes to get you to finish your work.”

You smiled to yourself, suddenly overcome with a desire to embarrass Newt. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” you called out warningly in a sing-song voice. “My towel fell off, and I’m trying to get dressed…”

Newt immediately withdrew from the door, but was resilient. “I’m not falling for that, Y/N! I’m coming in there in one minute, and you better be dressed.”

You pouted, creeping closer to the door to taunt Newt. “But that’s not nearly enough time, Newt,” you whined. “But you already know that, don’t you?” You smiled wickedly.

Though you couldn’t see Newt flush, you could hear him falter. “Y/N, d-don’t be ridiculous - I know what you’re trying to do. I don’t care. If you’re not dressed, it’s your own shuckin’ fault.”

You shrugged, slipping out of the towel and leisurely started putting on your clothes. “Alright, but don’t be surprised if you see me n –”

The door to the hut burst open, but you were wearing only your underwear and a large t-shirt, that was barely reaching a couple inches into your thighs. You smiled victoriously, pleased to see Newt’s red face, clearly more embarrassed now than in the showers. It didn’t help Newt and you had always felt attracted to each other, even started falling for each other as you grew closer in friendship, but neither of you acted upon it because Alby forbid it. Now, seeing Newt’s eyes reluctantly trailing over your half-exposed body, it made you want to forget there were any rules in place.

Newt clenched his jaw and crossed his arms. “Go ahead,” he said in a hardened tone, trying to mask his obvious reaction at seeing you half-naked. “Get dressed.”

You raised an eyebrow incredulously. “Seriously?”

Newt gazed at you stonily, and only gestured for you to proceed getting dressed. You scoffed. You threw your jeans at him and flopped down onto your bed, sticking your tongue out again at him. You had pushed your luck too far. Newt closed the distance between the two of you in a flash, and climbed over you on your bed, pinning you down against the sheets. He glared at you with darkened eyes. “Do you think that I’m joking, Y/N?”

You panted slightly underneath him, unable to help but think this was the first time Newt had ever gotten on your bed. You had been on his plenty of times, but he had never been on yours. This was different. “Not anymore,” you replied breathlessly, afraid of what he would do next.

Newt nodded. “Good that. Now be a good girl and do as I say,” he growled at you roughly.

You smiled mischievously up at him, fully aware that he was still hovering over you, his face just inches from yours. If you just leaned up… “And what if I don’t?” you asked teasingly.

“I’ll punish you,” Newt said tonelessly.

You lifted yourself up slightly, meeting Newt’s cheek with yours, your lips brushing against the side of his face as you moved to whisper playfully in his ear. “I’d like to see you try,” you threatened, your lips pressed against his skin hotly.

Newt jerked back surprisedly, before his eyes filled with a new look of… lust. The wild, crazed desire finally unleashed within him, Newt grabbed you by the shoulder roughly and pushed you down against the bed, smashing his lips against yours. He kept you pinned down as he delved deeper into the kiss, your lips opening and parting to meet his. He pressed his tongue against your mouth, pulling away before giving you two hot kisses with tongue, each time exploring deeper and deeper. You gasped in order to catch your breath, taken aback by the suddenness and rushed manner of Newt’s kisses. He didn’t even give you a chance to catch your breath before lowering himself down on you again, pressing his lips to yours with a deep hunger you didn’t know he had in him.

You flicked his tongue with your own, moaning at his every touch. The blonde, instantly turned on by the sounds your moans, cupped your cheek, pulling you even closer to him, and you trailed your fingers up to tangle them within his disheveled hair. You smiled at his eagerness, and as your mouth twisted in victory you pulled away teasingly. Newt tried to lean down to kiss you but you merely turned your face slyly, laughing. Newt groaned in frustration and looked at you inquisitively, panting heavily. You watched him as his eyes followed you as you scooted back to the top of the bed. “It’s so easy to get you, Newt,” you giggled.

Newt raised his eyebrows in arrogant surprise. “Oh yeah? Sure about that, love?” He slowly crept forward and suddenly lunged to tackle you against the soft sheets, and though you laughed and tried to wriggle your way out of his grasp, Newt’s strong arms forced you against his hard chest.

You gasped for breath in between pouts and cried, “That’s no fair, Newt!” Newt smirked and flipped you over, releasing you playfully against the bed, running his hands up the side of your body until he reached your arms, which he moved up by your head and pinned your hands under his. He laced his long, rough fingers through yours and raked his teeth down the side of your neck, causing you to drop your head back against the sheets. You arched your back, surrendering yourself, as he lowered his wet kisses down your neck.

He paused, watching your eyelashes flutter and small, gasping breaths escape your lips. Seeing you crumble under his touch made him smirk, swelling his heart with pride that only he got to see you this way. “All’s fair in love and war, Y/N,” Newt whispered in your ear and pecked it with a small kiss after.

You smile and take his cheek into your hands, turning it to face his sweet caramel eyes towards you. “Well, if this is what a little war with you brings, I’m not complaining,” you winked and pulled Newt down to kiss him again.

Lights Out - Harry Hook X Reader

I was wondering if you could do an imagine where the reader and Harry Hook somehow end up sharing a room and they don’t really like each other but he has a nightmare and the reader comforts him and realises he isn’t as bad/mean as he seems?

“I can’t continue like this anymore Mal, I’m going to lose my mind”
You were holed up in your best friends dorm room trying desperately to chug as much caffeine as you possibly could in the few minutes before you had to head to class.
“Surely it’s not that bad Y/N” She replied, handing you another mug of coffee.
You downed it in one.
“Mal! I’ve been running solely on energy drinks, espresso’s and power naps between tutor sessions for the last three weeks. I shouldn’t be alive at this point. I have not slept in almost a month. A MONTH!”
You slammed the mug on the table and scooped together a pile of notebooks and papers. When you looked at your watch you nearly had a mental break down.
“Oh great! I’m late for English Lit,” you mumbled under your breath before charging towards the door, an energy bar in your hand.
Mal stopped you before you could leave, pushing you back down in you chair.
“Y/N, you need to sleep”
“I’ll be fine,” You weren’t really in the mood to listen to her, you had a English exam to sit and you were already running behind.
“I just don’t understand how he’s managed to keep you awake for this long”
She was talking about your new room-mate, the infamous, hook wielding pirate who invaded your living space when he arrived from the isle a few weeks ago. Some how you drew the short straw and were forced to have the unwanted VK as a room-mate; life becoming increasingly more difficult from that moment onwards.Since Harry had arrived he had done nothing but infuriate you, using whatever methods necessary to irritate you. So far the most effective of which had been the sleep deprivation. The pirate would purposely turn all of the lights on whenever you tried to sleep and insisted on playing the sound of crashing waves at all hours during the night. You were one audio file of a seagull away from killing a man.
“I just don’t understand how I’ve not strangled him yet” You replied, rolling your eyes to show you were unamused “Now will you let me go Mal?”
Your purple haired best friend pulled you into a hug.
“Fine. Go ace that stupid exam of yours. Then you sleep” Mal said pointedly, a stern tone in her voice that was almost motherly. “And I’m going to talk to Ben. See if we can get you another roommate”
You squeezed her harder before pulling out of the embrace.
“Thanks M! I really appreciate it. Now if you excuse me I’m about to go get an A”
You saluted her as you headed out of the dorm room and into the English Hall, feeling oddly confident despite the lack of proper rest. Mal burst into a rare hysteric fit of giggles as soon as you were out of ear shot. She knew you’d be asleep within the first twenty minutes of the lesson.

Three words. You had written three words and your eyes were already starting to droop. Three fucking words. Maybe it was the fact that the exam hall was deadly silent or the fact that the lights had been dimmed ever so slightly but you felt the strongest urge to lay your head down on the desk and drift away into a blissful in-interrupted sleep. This was bad., really bad. The English exam was worth a stupidly large percentage of your overall grade and you refused to let some selfish pirate and his odd sleeping habits rob you of your success.
“Cowgirl the fuck up Y/N” you whispered under your breath as you forced yourself to prise your eyes open. You were met by death glares from those around you.
“Sorry” you mouthed before getting back to scribbling down your answers. No longer caring what the students around you thought, you continued to talk to yourself for motivation.
“You’ve got everything under control Y/N, you can stay awake”
Everything was not under control, there was no way you were staying awake.
To be fair to you, you lasted longer than you thought you would but ten minutes into the exam you were fast asleep.

Tap Tap Tap
You felt your whole body groan as you were awoken to the steady sound of metal hitting oak. You were still wrapped a foggy daze after emerging from your nap and you were still unable to comprehend where your were or what time it was.
Tap Tap Tap.
The noise continued, so you forced yourself to open your eyes and gently scan the room you were in. You saw the desks first, then the chalkboard, then the clock. Then it suddenly clicked. Shit.
Tap Tap Tap.
The exam was over, all of the other students had left the hall, and you were sat alone at the back of the room, still flat against your desk. You glanced at the paper in front of you, you had’t even finished a paragraph.
Tap Tap Tap.
It was in that exact moment you realised that you weren’t in fact alone.
“Ye look so peaceful when you’re dreaming sweetheart”
You felt your blood slowly start to boil as your eyes landed on a particular pirate, sat with his feet up at a desk directly in front of you, taping his hook against the chair leg.  Still, the familiar accent sent shivers down your spine. Crooked smile, dark brooding eyes and one dangerous voice, Harry Hook was unbearable.
“Don’t you sweetheart me” You hissed glaring at the grinning boy “You’re always so fucking smug aren’t you”
“I have no idea what yer talking about” he continued, grinning even wider as he began to stalk towards you. “That was quite a nap ye took there Y/N”
You scoffed before shuffling in your seat slightly to wriggle away from Harry’s looming presence, uncomfortable with the lack of space between the two you.
“I wonder why,” You whispered under your breath, avoiding eye contact with him.
Harry was now stood directly over you, his hand leaning on your desk, one of his boots resting on the edge of your chair.
“Ye wouldn’t be blaming me now would ye?” The pirate began, before picking up your test paper and tutting at the lack of content. “ Oh Y/N, it seems as though you’ve lost your touch”
He pouted.
“Oh Harry,” you said mocking his tone, “It seems as though you’ve forgotten that the only reason I’m going to fail this test is because you won’t let me fucking go to sleep on a night!”
You were becoming more and more agitated with the pirate who was pressing his face closer and closer to yours.
You gulped, your confidence wavering, when the tip of his nose brushed the skin by your ear.
“Ye know yer starting to blush sweetheart” Harry whispered, a cocky edge to his voice.
It was true, your cheeks were starting to prickle with heat as Harry moved closer to you still. Something about him just made you uncomfortable, something unhinging yet somehow alluring. He was good looking, there was no doubt about it, and all it took was a flicker of a smile across his lips and you were practically melting.
Snap out of it! You yelled to yourself internally. He was an asshole, a sly, impulsive little flirt who made you fail your English final. Yet somehow, you couldn’t stop staring at the blue in his eyes.
Harry was smirking again, clearly aware that you had been daydreaming, so you quickly turned the tables in an attempt to salvage your pride.
“I’m done here Hook,” You said bluntly, standing up abruptly and slamming your hands on the desk.
The sudden movement clearly took Harry by surprise as his smug demeanour dropped for a second, his usual grin drooping a little. He quickly composed himself again though, the facade re-appearing as he grabbed your hand and pulled you towards him.
“Leaving so soon sweetheart? I feel slightly offended”
You were so close together now, Harry hands snaking towards your waist, his chest pressed against yours.
“Let me go Harry,” you growled, trying your best not to make eye-contact with the pirate.
You couldn’t trust yourself not to crumble if you looked directly at him.
“Why would I do that Y/N?” Harry whispered, as you felt the cool metal of his hook rest against the small of your back.
You shuddered.
“Get. Your. Filthy. Hands. Off. Me”
You pushed him away for good and grabbed your bag, scowling at Harry as you reached down to get it from the floor. You where starting to storm away when Harry called out to you again.
“We can finish this tonight sweetheart” Harry called out, his usual Cheshire-cat smirk still plastered across his face.
“I wouldn’t count on it” you began, hesitating as you got to the door frame “I’m changing room-mates. Ben’s going to sort it”

It turned out Ben couldn’t sort it, so no more than an hour later you were back at your dorm-room, greeted by the triumphant sniggers of the highly amused pirate.
“Back already are ye darling?” Harry teased “Couldn’t get enough of me hey?”
You purposely ignored him, charging over to your bed and dumping your binders and notebooks on the quilt cover.
Harry followed you, sitting at the foot of the bed and picking up one of your books. You snatched it immediately from him.
“What’s wrong with ye sweetheart,” he said patronisingly, “Anybody would think ye didn’t like me”
“I don’t” you said pointedly.
“Come on, work with me here Y/N,” He was still smirking like a dickhead “Do ye ever stop being uptight”
You stopped what you were doing to glare at the boy and throw a pencil at him.
“Do you ever stop being a psychotic man whore?” You fired back, really not in the mood for his ridiculous antics.
He put his hands to his face, resting his cheeks in his palms and pouted; whimpering as if he was offended by what you had said. You sucked your teeth.
“Ye really don’t like me do ye?” Harry laughed
“No” You replied bluntly, your mind drifting to the amount of grovelling you were going to have to do the following day to get your English teacher to let you redo the exam.
“Ye really should ye know - start liking me - we could have really hit it off” The pirate teased as he inched slightly closer to you again.
You huffed, you’d had enough.
“Any chance of ditching the industrial lights and sound effects tonight or what?” You asked brightly, shifting your voice to make it sound more optimistic.
“Nah”
“Then this conversation is over”

The two of you barely spoke for the rest of the night.
Well.
Harry had tried to his best to flirt his way out of your bad books but quickly relented once a hardback novel went flying across the room and hit him in the head. It was safe to say he didn’t bother you for the rest of the night.
Once it had started to get dark outside you changed into your pyjama’s, ditching the floral skater dress in favour of a soft oversized shirt.
“Harry! Hurry up in the bathroom I need to get changed!” You yelled at him through the crack in the bathroom door.
You didn’t trust the pirate enough for you to get changed out in the open of the dorm room - in fear that he may come charging through whilst you were mid-way through taking off your dress.
“Ye know sweetheart it would be a lot easier for ye to just get changed in ye bloody bedroom”
The bathroom door swung open and you were face to face with the pirate who was leaning against the door frame.
“I don’t want to be exposed,” you huffed defensively, putting an emphasis on the last word which made Harry chuckle.
“Ye strange Y/N Ye know” Harry laughed genuinely, his blue eyes lighting up at the way you wrinkled your nose.
There were times, although they were rare, when Harry did this, little pockets of random happiness where the pirate simply spoke his mind. It intrigued you. But then again there were far more frequent times when Harry would deprive you of sleep and embarrass you in front of your friends just to spite you. It was unsurprisingly hard to overlook.
“Just let me get changed you scoundrel” you said lightly, pushing him out of the bathroom and locking the door behind you.

When you walked out of the bathroom Harry was laid on the sofa, his arms and legs stretched out along the arm-rests as you walked past him.
He smirked.
“Oh Y/N!” He called softly in a sing-song voice, the teasing obvious in his tone.
You ignored him as you made your way over over to your bed, unfolding the covers and clambering inside.
“Y/N sweetheart, are ye ignoring me?” The pirate continued, not even turning his head to look at you.
“I’m trying to sleep,’ You snapped at him, irritation making you hostile “Although, I’m sure it’s a pointless exercise, you never turn that bloody sound system off”
Harry made a mock whimpering noise, before spinning around to face you, a condescending smirk plastered all over his face. He cocked his head at you.
“No eye mask?” The pirate asked you with a wicked gleam in his eye.
He huffed loudly. You had bought an eye mask, along with some ear buds, in the hope that you’d be able to ignore Harry at night, but you had come back to find they had all gone confidently missing. Asshole.
“Do you ever give it a rest Harry?” You asked. You sound more desperate than you had originally planned.
Harry only smirked wider.
Then he stood up.
Walked towards the TV.
And turned on the stereo system.

There wasn’t much surprise that you were still awake at two am, even if your patience was wearing thin. Your whole body ached with tiredness, your eyes hollowed, your head pounding, yet there was no way you could sleep. Everything was too bright, everything was too loud. Every limb groaned. You had no idea how Harry could sleep like this, hell you didn’t even know if the pirate slept at all! You grabbed another pillow and pressed it over your head, trying to drowned out the incessant sound of crashing waves in vain, you knew it wouldn’t work, it never did.
You sat bolt upright in your bed, scowling deeper than you ever had before. Enough was enough. You were stood up one, fists clenched ready to confront Harry when…

Darkness.
You were plunged into complete darkness. Every light in the whole dorm room went out in one quick burst, every lamp, every night light gone, as if someone had blown out a cake-ful of birthday candles. Even the blinking numbers on the microwave had disappeared, anything remotely electrical turned off, sent to slumber But that wasn’t all.
Silence.
A long awaited, precious quietness fell upon the dorm room,  no more waves, no more seagulls, no more sounds of the sea. Just quiet.  You smirked to yourself.
Saved by the power cut.
“The fuck Y/N?” Yelled the pirate, leaping up from his bed and clicking the switches on the lamps beside him frantically.
It was your turn to smirk, giggling to yourself as Harry tried to turn the lights back on, clearly thinking this was your doing. Didn’t they have power outages on the Isle?
“Relax Harry,” you said plainly “It’s a power cut, nothing to do with me. I doubt they’ll sort the electrics out until the morning though so just go to sleep for god sake”
“Ye sounding way too happy about this ye know. Just ye wait until I-”
“Good night Harry” You said climbing back into bed. You couldn’t see him in the darkness but you could hear that he had stopped moving. Maybe you were actually going to sleep for once.
“Ye wouldn’t get it Y/N!” He started to shout “I can’t bloody-”
“Good night Harry” you repeated, cutting him off.
You were smiling to yourself as your head hit the pillow, the muffled babbling of Harry mumbling profanities making you grin.
It was going to be a good night.

Or so you thought. You had slept blissfully for a few hours but soon you were wriggling and writhing in your bed sheets uncomfortably. You were freezing. The dorm room was no warmer than outside, the beginning of a gale billowing, ice creeping along the window panes.
“Of course” You sighed to yourself, “The power cut’s knocked off the boiler”
You curled up further into a ball, the only warmth from your own body, the ice blocks that had replaced your hands buried deep within your thighs. So much for a good nights sleep.
You knew then that you wouldn’t be drifting off and time soon and huffed to yourself, Harry for once could not be blamed. Wind rattled at the guttering and rain beat down against the glass window as you propped yourself upright, starting to shiver properly for the first time. You pulled the threadbare shirt over your knees as you tried to salvage any warmth you could but it was know use, you would just have to deal with being cold. You were considering going to find Mal in her room when your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of somebody unmistakeable afraid.

Your eyes had pretty much adjusted to the dark, the silhouette of Harry shooting up from his mattress unmissable. He was gasping for air, panting and holding his head in his hands as he tried to return his breathing to normal. You were stunned, even through the darkness you could see all of his muscles were tense, the moonlight leaking through the curtains illuminating beads of sweat on his forehead. Harry was a lot of things, scared wasn’t one of them.
“Harry,” you called lightly, hardly daring to raise your voice above a whisper “You okay?”
The pirate shot his head around so he was facing you, his eyes wide for a second with alarm before his face settled into a blank unrevealing expression, no familiar smirk in sight. Now you were concerned. He grumbled something unintelligible and the paused, as if considering whether to speak or not, before taking a deep breath and offloading whatever was on his mind to you.
“I have constant nightmares okay!” He practically shouted as if he was admitting it to himself for the first time “I wasn’t being an asshole to ye, with the music and the lights, I just needed to hear the sea, it helps ye know. Ye probably think it’s pathetic but I can’t sleep without the fucking light on” He paused before continuing” Don’t ye dare laugh at me Y/N, I’ll gut ye with me hook if ye even think about telling anyone"
You didn’t have the slightest idea what to do with all this new information. It stunned you, not adding up to the twisted image of the flirty pirate you had in your mind. You were baffled.
“Harry you know full well I wouldn’t” You whispered earnestly.
You cocked your head at the pirate at the other end of the room. Harry Hook had nightmares. Harry Hook who tried to set the King on fire when he first came to Auradon, Harry Hook who scared little kids for fun, Harry Hook who flirted with you just to make you embarrassed, had nightmares. Nightmares so bad that he had to turn all of the lights on and and play the sound of the ocean to himself.
He wasn’t finished yet.
“I’ve always had someone to cuddle with, usually CJ” Harry continued, as you tried to picture the pirate cuddled up to his sister. Piece by piece the arrogant intimidating persona you had come to associate with Harry was coming undone “Now, I realise we are not exactly on that level but yer the only one here and I’m really scared to go to sleep”
It took a while for you to register what he was saying.
He wanted to cuddle with you. Not in a flirtatious seductive attempt but in fearful, vulnerable kind of way.
You both needed to sleep you guessed.
“Y/N?” He called through the darkness, almost desperately.
A knot was starting to grow in your stomach and before you knew it your were stood up, ambling towards the boy.
“I’m warning you Hook” you said gently as you reached his mattress “I’m absolutely freezing”

He untucked the bed covers so you could climb in the bed beside him, wiggling as far as he could to the right side of the bed so you could lay on the left. You didn’t touch, you didn’t speak, you just laid there, you still shivering, him still slightly traumatised from whatever was haunting his dreams. All together, it was unbearabley awkward.
“What was it?” You said eventually, you words slicing through the uneasy silence.
You felt Harry turn around to face you, his blue eyes blinking at you in confusion. The bed covers wrinkled as he shifted, the crumpling sound the only thing that you could hear. He was bare chested you realised, and forced yourself to draw your eyes away from his exposed torso before he noticed you staring and focus back on his face.
“What?” He asked plainly, his eyes looking tired for the first time, remnants of black eyeliner smudged across his cheeks.
“The nightmare” you prompted, keeping your voice as soft as possible.
Harry inhaled sharply and let out a large breath, the warmth hitting your skin.
“It’s the same fucking one every time” The pirate spat, his eyes looking upwards as his jaw clenched, as if he was angry at something you couldn’t see. “I’m back on the Isle. I can’t be older than about  seven and its him, it’s always him”
“Who Harry?”
You reached for Harry’s hand, or maybe he reached or yours, it was hard to tell. You intertwined your fingers instinctively, a jolt of electricity sparking between the two of you. You were certain Harry felt it too as he looked at you strangely an unreadable expression settling across his face. Neither of you moved your palms.
Harry’s jaw was set in place now, his eyes narrowing with a kind of anger that you knew wasn’t directed at you.
“My Father. He used to…he used to -” He never finished his sentence. He didn’t need to.
And of course there was nothing that you could have said after that. Sometimes all the words in  the whole English language won’t be enough, they won’t help. But he kept looking at you, the bluish-steel of his eyes glassed over and you knew. You knew you couldn’t just lay there any longer.

Just as another bite of cold wind swept under your nightshirt, your hands moved around Harry’s middle, his skin warm and soft. In seconds his body moulded to your own, sharing his body heat as easily as you shared your heart.
“Hey,” you whispered to him, tucking your head in the crook of his neck “If it’s any compensation, you’re not half as bad as I thought”
Harry chuckled lightly, but only squeezed you tighter. He had never let another close to him like this, close enough to share breaths, close enough to share secrets.
“Yer quite something Y/N,” He whispered, slowly returning back to his self again.
You snuggled further into him, grateful for the warmth and the unlikely comfort you found in the pirate’s arms. You wrapped yourself around his shoulders, pulling him close and gently rubbing his arm. Despite the heaviness in your stomach, it fluttered at the feeling of your body pressed against his. You sunk into the warmth of his side and Harry reciprocated, the two of you giggling at things that simply weren’t funny, both appreciative of the friendly gesture.
But it was more than that. Way more than just friendly. There was something else there, a spark of something more than platonic. You had hugged plenty of friends  before and it had never been like this. Not ever
You hadn’t run your hands through their dishevelled hair and nearly stopped breathing when they stroked yours. You hadn’t traced the contours of the chest or stared when they bit their lips. They hadn’t nipped at your skin playfully with their teeth when you joked about thinking they were a psycopath. They hadn’t cupped your face with their rough palms and told you you were different, different and yet so beautiful. You hadn’t blushed. They hadn’t noticed and said it cute. You hadn’t wanted to kiss them so badly it almost ached.
But you did with Harry.
And it scared you a little.
“You smell like sea salt,” you whispered, the tiredness making you act completely delirious “And metal”
“Metal?” Harry asked with a raised eyerbrow, stifling a laugh.
“Metal” You confirmed adamantly, before breaking out in a yawn. Harry looked at you questioningly.
“What?” You defended “You do. It’s not a bad thing”
Harry chuckled at you and you untangled yourself from him, twisting to face away from the pirate.

You started to snuggle down into you pillow when you stopped abruptly. Your eyes shot open. He kissed your shoulder.
He kissed your shoulder.
Harry freaking Hook just kissed your shoulder. And then he did it again.
Before your better judgement could take over you turned around, grabbed the bottom of his jaw and pushed his face towards yours. You were staring at his lips now, doing whatever you could to resist them.
Don’t do it Y/N, don’t do it. Come on. Will power, self-control, self-restraint. Stop staring at him, you don’t want to kiss him, you don’t. Resist the sexy pirate, resist the pirate RESIST!
You did not resist
“Just so you know Harry, I am about to punch you on the mouth with my own mouth, softly, because I think I like y-”
You didn’t get to finish your sentence.
He kissed you. Without warning, without permission. Without even consciously deciding to do it, but simply because he couldn’t have done anything else. You lips crashed together, quickly falling into rhythm as you tilted your head backwards.  You felt Harry’s lips curl up into a smile under your own. You pulled away from him, playfully swatting him on the arm.
“You could have given me a heads up Hook?” You giggled, running your fingers up and down his bare arms.
Harry chuckled airily at you.
“What ye were taking too long” He was smirking again. You breathed a sigh of relief, he was smirking again.
“Who said I wanted to kiss you Mr. Stinky Metal Pirate”
“Ye did not seriously call me Mr. Stinky Metal Pirate?”
“I did” You were trying not to burst into a fit of giggles.
“I do not smell like bloody metal”
“Oh Harry darling” you said in a joking tone “But you d-”

In a split second he pulled your hands away from him and picked you up under arms, pulling you in front of him. You were pinned down, him over the the top of you grinning like an idiot. You were both laughing.
“Harold Hook” you said with mock sadness “You’ve picked the wrong girl to mess with”
You rolled to the side, escaping his grip and flipped him over, sitting on top of him. You pushed his chest down, your hands pressed against his torso.
“Y/N” he said softly, staring directly into your eyes. He leant his forehead against yours.
“Harry” He inched his head closer to yours so that you could feel the warmth of his breath. You pulled slightly away but he pulled you back, pressing his mouth against your ear, whispering to you softly.
“Anything ye want to tell me lass”
“Yeah” you laughed, squirming as his lips tickled your skin “If you don’t want to smell like metal, maybe don’t carry a hook around everywhere”
Before you could say anything, he sprung upwards scooped you up and tossed you over his shoulder
“Un-hand me you beast” you screamed as you flailed your limbs. He eventually let you go and you pushed him backwards on his bed, kneeling your legs either side of him. He wrestled you to the bed again. You tried to push him off, your palms flat against his and you both collapsed in a tangled heap on the floor. You sat up, giggling like little girls. You stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity.
“I’m tired. I’m going to sleep” You said eventually.
“Okay” he said simply grinning at you.

At that exact moment every light switched on one by one, flickering into action. You clasped at your ears when the stereo turned back on, playing the track at a significantly louder volume than it had originally been set at. Both you and Harry groaned but then started to laugh.
“Powers back then I guess” You said as you watched Harry wrestling with the speakers to turn them off.
“Yeah” the pirate awkwardly said, setting the remote down once it was quiet again.
“Still want to cuddle?” You asked hopefully, turning out all of the lights except for he lamp closest to Harry’s bed.
He looked up at you, grinned, then looked back at the floor.
“Ye’ve just read my mind Y/N”
He turned off the final light once you both laid together, you’re head resting on his chest listening to the gentle rise and fall of his breathing in the darkness. Finally, for the first time in months, you drifted off into a blissful, uninterrupted sleep.

Thor: Ragnarok Movie Clip - Get Help (2017): Check out the new clip starring Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston! Be the first to watch, comment, and share cl...

I’m gonna deconstruct this scene because I’ve been thinking about it ALL DAY and what the hell, I’ve got time. This clip demonstrates what I love most about Taika Waititi’s filmmaking and it shows off Chris and Tom’s chemistry in the fiercest way. It’s hilarious, sweet, bittersweet, surprising, and poignant.

1) “Loki, I thought the world of you.”

Even though there was an instinctive part of me that screamed, “OK, WELL, YOUR ACTIONS TOLD A DIFFERENT STORY, THOR” due to residual bitterness over what a dickbag Thor was in the first film, I’m 1,000% here for this line. I’m proud of how much Thor has matured, thrilled that these two are actually talking to each other, and happy that Loki’s hearing something he’s probably always wanted/needed to hear even though it’s bittersweet because Thor’s using the past tense.

Tom’s reaction here is SO GOOD. Just the tiniest shift in his eyebrows to indicate that Thor has Loki’s attention and he’s fucking locked in and hanging on to every word.

2) “I thought we were gonna fight side by side forever, but at the end of the day you’re you and I’m me.”

I know there was a minor (?) uproar over Chris’ comments that Thor will be “indifferent” to Loki in Ragnarok, but this scene seems to suggest a kind of acceptance rather than indifference. Maybe for the first time, Thor truly seems to have accepted that he and Loki are fundamentally different beings–and by extension, he’s accepting Loki’s nature. Yes, part of that acceptance means letting go and moving on (note: I did not say giving up) and that’s sad, but realistic I think. How many fakeout deaths and stabbings can a person be expected to withstand? “You’re you” is a significant break in pattern for Thor and Loki appears genuinely taken aback by it.

“You’re you” is a huge deal because to me, the brothers’ central conflict has always boiled down to the fact that Loki isn’t Thor (thanks, Odin, for exacerbating this tension). For Loki, that fact is a source of self-loathing and resentment, something that he can act out against and, as Tom has often said, define himself in opposition to.

By the same token I think it’s become clearer that what Loki thinks of Thor matters to Thor. For an older sibling, having a younger sibling who looks up to you and wants to be like you is perhaps one of the biggest indicators that you’re a good–dare I say worthy–person. Ever since Loki let go of Gungnir Thor has struggled to make sense of Loki’s rejection, to define himself without the security of having his brother by his side. With that in mind I’ve always seen Thor’s past attempts to bring Loki back to the “good” side as heartfelt and genuine, but also somewhat ego-driven and shortsighted because it came at the expense of Loki’s autonomy and self-identification.

Cut to now. By acknowledging that he and Loki are each their own person, Thor’s relieving Loki of the pressure and expectation to be anyone other than himself. In a way that’s a gift, but it’s also terribly sad because it’s accompanied by loss for both of them. Which brings me to:

3) “I dunno, maybe there’s still good in you but let’s be honest: our paths diverged a long time ago.”

It’s in this moment that Loki really seems to realize where this conversation is headed. And he doesn’t like it.

We know Loki lives to test Thor. It’s his (super dysfunctional and unhealthy) way of making sure Thor still cares about him. In The Dark World, Loki tests Thor’s assertions that he doesn’t trust him and has lost hope for him by … getting himself impaled. Yeah, “dying” was also his “get out of jail free, usurp the throne” card, but it’s not insignificant that he calls Thor’s bluff in the process.

4) “Yeah. It’s probably for the best that we never see each other again.”

Speaking of calling Thor’s bluff, I think Loki–because he’s a smart little fucker–says this in order to get ahead of the conversation. He knows what’s coming, so he pulls the classic “I’ll reject you before you reject me” move. But I don’t think he means it. It’s more likely that he’s trying to balance the scales so he’s not on the utter losing side of this conversation. And honestly? Deep down I doubt he can bear to hear Thor say it and by proactively agreeing with him he’s holding out hope that Thor will pull a “JK!” and change his mind.

5) “That’s what you always wanted.”

OMG THOR HAS GOTTEN SO SMART. I mean, I guess it’s within the realm of possibility that Thor is still really dumb about Loki’s feelings/motivations, but personally it’s more fun and satisfying to think he sees Loki’s test and raises him an even bigger one.

Loki’s face is so sad-funny. His plan backfired, he’s panicking a little, but he’s got to save face and play it cool, and he’s also legit sad because he knows this outcome is the culmination of his past actions and he did his part in paving this road for both of them. And at the end of the day he’s still the younger brother who doesn’t want to appear weak, so he’s doing his best to match Thor’s tone and attitude.

The moment when Loki lifts his chin and gives a little nod is a dead giveaway; never seeing Thor again is the opposite of what he wants, but he’s prepared to accept that it’s too late for anything else. It’s SO far from an apology, but for Loki it’s about the most mature thing we’ve seen him do.

The fact that for once they’re not arguing with each other is what made me tear up. It’s like they both know they should’ve had this conversation years ago, when it could have made all the difference, but at the same time they know that moment has passed. THIS IS FUCKING TRAGIC.

(If I wrote this movie, this would be the moment where they both dissolve into tears, fall on the floor, and cry-hug it out, which is why I write poetry and not screenplays.)

6) “Hey, let’s do Get Help.”

This was the beginning of the death of me, I will never be the same. I laughed so hard. On the surface this whole exchange may seem like just a gag–and it IS funny as hell–but I feel like it’s working on so many levels and reveals something deeper about Thor and Loki’s bond.

First of all, if you’re me, everything that preceded this moment was really uncomfortable and sad and almost unbearable to witness so I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that Thor and Loki were feeling some of that too.

What I love about this transition is that Thor immediately cuts through the tension, probably to put both of them at ease and bring them back into the more familiar territory of their rapid-fire banter. Loki seems a bit surprised but relieved.

IMO, this brief exchange of dialogue does more to convey Loki and Thor’s bond and establish their history than anything we’ve been shown in the previous films (not counting that deleted scene from the first movie). I thought it was really poignant to see them revert to/rely upon something from their distant past. You can tell this is an argument they’ve had a zillion times before. You can tell from the stunt itself that it’s something they’ve had many opportunities to perfect.

Even though Loki is reluctant to participate, he does, because he still craves inclusion and acceptance. Even though Thor is no longer quite as overbearing and arrogant as he once was, he regresses into that role so that he can get his younger brother back for just a moment. It’s like they’re consoling themselves without admitting that they want to be consoled. And yeah, on a practical note they also need to find a way off of Sakaar.

In conclusion, they’ve both just conceded that their relationship has reached an impasse with no real way forward, yet in the immediate aftermath of this supposed acceptance they choose to revert to an older dynamic that reflects presumably happier times. They don’t want to quit each other. This is fine. It’s fine. I’m not crying. I love them. The end.

I’m deep in my feels right now and probably projecting a lot (HI, HELLO, I HAVE A TROUBLED YOUNGER BROTHER, I’VE NEVER USED HIM AS A PROJECTILE BUT I UNDERSTAND THE IMPULSE), but even without having seen this scene in the full context of the film, it’s my favorite Thor/Loki moment to date. It’s what I’ve always wanted. It actually brings “We were raised together, we played together, we fought together” to life in a meaningful way, whereas in The Avengers I felt like those were just words.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading!

Half-Blood Princess (Part 2): Guardian Angel

Characters: Dean Winchester x Sister!Reader, Sam Winchester x Sister!Reader, Castiel, Hannah (Twin Sister), Alexis (Cross-Road demon), Chuck/God.

Length: 2953+ words

TW: Surprisingly, nothing? A broken soul. Mentions of torture. Alastair. Drunk!Dean. Sad!Dean.

A/N: SO MANY PEOPLE WANTED A PART 2!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the first part, and there are so many interests for a second part. I had such a hard time writing this, but it just all came to me last night when I couldn’t sleep. Feedback is encouraged!

Part 1     Part 2     Part 3

Alexis glanced at the angel with her eyebrow raised. “What do you want?” she asked coldly.

“I’m looking for Y/N’s soul,” Castiel responded calmly.

Anger flashed through her black eyes before returning to its original colour. “You’re looking at it.”

Castiel turned his attention to the broken soul on the ground, the light emitting from it almost nonexistent.

“She’s been here a while,” Alexis told him.

“You are the crossroad demon that made a deal with her, correct?”

“Yea.”

“I see. I will be right back.” The angel disappeared for a few minutes to break the news to her family, telling them that there was no hope on getting her back before returning with another man.

“Who the hell are you?” Alexis asked protectively, stepping forward in front of what was left of Y/N’s soul.

“My name is Chuck,” he answered. “Other known as, God.”

The demon scoffed, crossing her arms. “Yea, right.”

“It is true,” Castiel confirmed. “I’ve asked him if there is anything he could for Y/N.”

“She didn’t deserve that.” Alexis seemed to be more relaxed after the angel’s explanation. “She was too young to go.”

“You are very inclined to her,” Chuck stated.

“She reminded me of myself when I was human,” Alexis repeated softly. “I sold my soul for a shitty boyfriend after he went off and killed himself driving drunk. After I saved him, he ran off with an ex-girlfriend.” The demon looked at the bloody wall where Y/N was usually chained. “I tried protecting her as best as I could here.”

The two men waited for her to elaborate, knowing that there was so much more she wanted- no, needed to say.

“I made a deal with Alastair. Every 10 years, I would take her place for a year, and she would do my cross-road biddings. She didn’t deserve to be tortured for so long.” If she could, the two men were sure that Alexis would have been in tears by now.

There was a brief moment of silence before it was interrupted by Chuck.

“Thank you,” he said. “You’ve been kinder to her than I have, it seems. As a token of my gratitude for being so kind, I would like to extend an offer.”

“I think I’ve made enough deals don’t you think?” Alexis asked with laugh.

“I think you’re gonna like this one,” Chuck bantered back. “There’s no catch. I want your soul to move on.”

“Move on? As in, I won’t be a demon anymore?”

“Yes. You can pass to your heaven now.”

“You’re kidding?!” Alexis’s jaw dropped. This was not the deal she was expecting after being a demon for so long.

“I am not. It’s the least I can do.”

Her attention went back to Y/N’s soul, looking at it sadly. “What will happen to her?”

“I will do my best to piece her back together.”

I still don't know if he ever got his coffee

I’m not 100% sure this even belongs here and I’ve posted this story elsewhere so some of you might have read it already.

Some background: I work in a rather specialised area of Forensics.

“COFFEE”

I didn’t know it but apparently that attempt at communication was aimed at me; a fact I learned a moment later when Angry Man moved right up next to me, bent over me so his face was practically in mine and barked out again;

The next day, after being introduced to a lecture theatre full of high ranking CID Officers, I stood and walked to the podium only to be greeted by one guy in the audience laughing hysterically.

I think it was the sheer relief that he wasn’t actually laughing at me that caused me to open my mouth and say to Angry Man;

“Oh did you get your coffee in the end?”

He walked out and I didn’t see him for the rest of the course.

Dramatic Switch

Pairing: Forming Platonic Prinxiety

Prompt:Anxiety & Prince wake up with their clothing swapped, but they can’t change so have to film a video as eachother.

This is a fic for @daymeetsnight for the Sanders Sides fic exchange! I got it done just in time, and it turned out WAY longer than I expected (2935 words), and angstier than planned, but I really hope you like it.

“What the hell?! Give me back my hoodie!”

“How dare you disgrace my royal sash! Hand it over!”

Both were more than happy to comply, but couldn’t seem to get the other’s garments off. This left Virgil in Roman’s royal attire, and Princey as an emo nightmare. They, of course, panicked.

“We are to film a video today, and Thomas will be summoning us any minute!” The royal exclaimed in all his dramatics, “I am a Prince! I cannot possibly allow my subjects to see me looking like I just stepped out of Dead, Goth, &Beyond!”

“Yeah, ‘cause I totally want to look like I just mugged Prince Charming,” Virgil rolled his eyes at the prince as he crossed his arms. “So Sir Creativity, what do we do? I have an image to maintain.”

Roman!Thomas’s voice suddenly echoed through the mind palace.

“Gah!” Roman resisted the call as they started panicking more. “Oh! Um… Oh! Quickly, switch places with me! We will simply act like each other, and no one will know!”

Virgil opened his mouth to point out how stupid he thought this idea was, but as Thomas called again, he groaned and switched places with Roman before popping into Thomas’s living room.

‘He’s lucky I read the scripts to death,’ Virgil thought as he struck Roman’s signature entering pose.

“Hello, common folk! Did you miss me?” The commonly dark trait grinned with a flourish.

“Roman, what took so long?” Thomas whispered.

“My apologies. You see, I was caught up in an epic battle with the Dragon Witch and lost track of time.” Virgil thought up as he pretended to fight some unseen beast.

This seemed to be Princey enough for the others as Logan rolled his eyes, Thomas nodded, and Patton grinned.

“Aw! Way to go Kiddo!” The Dad beamed.

Virgil felt absolutely ridiculous performing the action, but as everyone accepted the lie and continued on with the video, his smile became a little more genuine.

Being part of Thomas, he enjoyed acting just like the others, but if any of them truly knew him, they’d know his passion could rival the very royal he was playing. That’s why he always made Thomas so nervous before a performance. He, more than anyone, understood how much they were all truly capable of, and–while he sometimes insisted with things that there was no point in trying–acting was not one of these things, and he wanted Thomas to truly give nothing but his absolute all, even if it was just an audition. If his presence didn’t cause Thomas anxiety, he’d probably be right there on stage with him and Princey.

Acting also allowed the dark trait to be someone else. He didn’t have to be ‘the embodiment of a dark and stormy night’ as Roman once phrased it. He could be free. So as they continued the video, that’s exactly what he was. Free. He played the part of roman with everything he had. Arguing with Logan, encouraging Thomas, and not so subtly degrading Patton; he didn’t enjoy the last part nearly as much but a role was a role, and for once in his existence, the confidence he gave off was real.

Anxiety loved every second of playing the dramatic, overly confident Prince as he threw out another vague reference with a smirk. Every second that is, until the real Princey popped up to play him, and shoot down ‘his’ idea.

Virgil gave Princey’s sassy retort without missing a beat or the barely concealed look of impressed surprise the royal gave him as he responded. He hid his blush, and continued on as though nothing had happened, but as filming went on, Virgil began to notice Princey acting strange.

Being the anxious trait, part of his job was to analyze everything in an instant, and though Roman played him flawlessly, Virgil still almost broke character to frown. As far as Virgil could tell, none of the others had noticed, but the real Prince looked like he was trying to hide the fact that he was in physical pain even as he rolled his eyes as Anxiety.

‘What’s wrong with him?’ Virge wondered as they continued to play each other so no one would know they were stuck in each other’s clothes.

He started to become actually worried, however, when he noticed Roman’s bangs becoming slowly limper as they dampened with sweat. This was when Anx knew this had to end soon, and used the influence he apparently held as Prince to start trying to get the video to move along faster with more one take shots.

It seemed to work, and in no time, Thomas declared them done and they gave their final words before sinking out one by one so Thomas could start editing, and  everyone dispersed back to their rooms once back in the mind palace.

Roman tried to use this to escape to his room as well, but Virgil had sunk out before him so was waiting for him outside the currently emo royal’s room.

“What’s wrong? You look more like death than I usually do,” Virgil immediately questioned the prince.

Said prince tried to hide a wince at being found out that, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by Virgil, even as the royal smirked. “Whatever are you talking about?”

“One of my roles as Thomas’s Anxiety is to analyze everything to death to prevent Thomas from making mistakes. Everything includes people so Thomas doesn’t make social blunders. The whole video, you looked like you were in physical pain, and half-way through, you started sweating like there was a great strain on you. What. Is. Wrong?” The dark trait asked with punctuation to each word of the original question to show Princey wasn’t avoiding it.

It was at this point Roman knew he lost. “Can we go in my room for this? I don’t want to worry the other two if they hear,” Roman sighed as he went in his room before the other could answer.

This confused Virgil, but he followed Roman into the Broadway meets Disney tornado version of Thomas’s house with a shrug.

“Jeez, you really do have 101 Disney posters don’t you? I was just kidding when I said that, but I can’t believe it was true.” He gave a half-laugh as he sat on the couch.

“Disney is no joking matter!” Princey huffed, back to his usual dramatics now that he was in the safety of his own room. He appeared more at ease almost immediately.

“So what happened between the times we were in the commons to the time you popped up?” Virgil asked bluntly, feeling the ‘entering someone else’s space’ formalities had been met sufficiently enough.

Roman sighed extra dramatically, “Anxi-my apologies- Virgil, what do I represent?”

The question confused the darker trait, but he responded none the less, “Thomas’s ego, romance, love of the theatre, creativity, and his obsession with Disney?”

“What is another name for theatre?” Roman prompted.

“Drama,” Virgil answered without hesitation.

“Exactly! Virgil, I am Thomas’s theatrics. I am the literal embodiment of drama!” he posed. “You on the other hand,” he pointed to Anxiety, “are even less dramatic than Logan.”

“Yeah, but what does that have to do with you being in pain?” Virgil asked, already having an idea, but wanting confirmation.

“Uuuuugh! Being a Drama King is part of my job! It becomes physically painful to not be my fabulous self!” Roman sighed with a hair flip as though it was the most tragic thing on Earth. “It’s not just an attention thing you know? Though I deserve to have all eyes on moi.”

Virgil sat in silence for a moment, mulling over what he just learned. “Why did you suggest we switch then if you knew it would hurt so much?”

Roman raised an eyebrow, “Virgil, have I ever once, in the entire time you have known me, not been dramatic?”

“You had no clue it would hurt.”

“None at all,” the royal confirmed with a wave of his hand. “The closest I have come to feeling that was when I was apologizing to you, but we were all panicking so I figured it was that.”

“I see,” Virgil nodded. He had been about to call Roman a dolt for not knowing something so important but merely hid his own wince, blaming himself slightly now.

“Yes, but like a true actor,” Prince boasted proudly, “I worked through the pain to put on a stunning performance of our very own Boy Glummer that fooled everyone.”

Virge just rolled his eyes, “Please, your eye roll game was weak.”

Roman huffed, about to retort before he smirked instead, “Yes, I can admit that I could use some practice playing a dark prince. Maybe you could give me some pointers. You seemed to be enjoying yourself out there playing me.”

Anx turned scarlet almost immediately, and wished more than anything that he had his foundation back to hide it. “Shut up,” he snapped, “I have no clue what you are talking about.”

“Oh really?” The prince continued to smirk, enjoying the other’s reaction, “Because you could have fooled me you were me.”

Virgil tried hiding in the collar of the royal shirt he was still wearing, wanting his hoodie, “I didn’t want them to find out…”

Roman smiled lightly now, “Virgil, calling Logan ‘My Chemical Reaction’ wasn’t in the script. I’m actually extremely disappointed it hasn’t been before.”

“Improv,” Virge mumbled, trying to sink into the couch now, unable to handle the compliments.

The royal sighed dramatically again as he sat on the couch with the darker, “Virgil, I’m not teasing you now. That was truly amazing. Why did you not tell us you could act?”

“I am part of Thomas, technically we can all act…”

“I highly doubt the glasses duo could act like that. You were completely unrecognizable as Virgil. Why hide such talent?” Roman pushed, truly impressed.

Virgil sighed, “To avoid this,” gesturing between the two of them. “To use theatre terms, your tragic flaw is you physically cannot not be dramatic. Mine is that I cannot handle praise. The fact that your room seems to boost confidence is probably the only reason I am not having a self-deprecating panic attack,” he admitted, hiding in his knees and awaiting the backlash.

Roman frowned, “By jones, that’s horrible!” embracing the other on an instinct to protect the vulnerable. “Patton compliments you all the time! Why did you never say anything?”

“…It does feel how it’s supposed to at first…nice that is…, but later, when I get back to my room, the room and my own brain start picking it apart and putting me back in my place. That’s why I enjoyed the acting. I was someone other than me.”

Princey’s heart broke hearing the revelation, and subconsciously held him closer, “Oh Virgil…what about now? What happened just now?” He asked this, but honestly he was afraid to hear an answer he was sure he already knew.

Virgil looked up at Roman for a second with an expression that confirmed his suspicions as he caught sight of the wetness in his eyes before he looked down again.

“…🎵You think you do the right thing, but incidentally You find the whole world prefer it differently~🎵”

Virgil sang quietly as Roman’s heart slowly sank more and more, “🎵I never wanted to be the bad guy🎵” he finished for the other. “You still don’t trust me.” Roman sighed, honestly hurt, but understanding why.

“I’m trying,” Virgil sighed, “but you spent so long insulting and making fun of me, it’s difficult. That apology was the first honestly nice thing you said to me you know? That’s why the panic set in so fast afterwards because the room was trying to decide if it was a lie or not and it caused an Anxiety Dump. Even now I’m still trying to accept it because my head keeps pointing out that it was scripted. Since it hurt though, I guess now I know it was real.” Another sigh. “When Logan praises me, there’s no anxiety because Lo finds lying an illogical waste of time and only gives his honest opinion. Patton is nice to everyone, so there is some anxiety over whether it’s true, but ultimately he is Morality and lying is wrong. You on the other hand, what do you have to gain from lying to someone like me? Every compliment you’ve ever given me has always been backhanded. Even this conversation started with you trying to tease me! …So yeah, I’m trying to start trusting you, but it’s hard.”

Virgil let all of this out with the confidence of the room acting as his backbone before he returned to sitting silently. As the silence stretched, however, Virgil tried looking up at the prince, but was cut short as Princey gathered him uncomfortably close and hid his face the anxious side’s shoulder. The darker immediately started squirming, of course, uncomfortable and startled. “Hey! What’s the big i-” That’s when he felt it through the thinner fabric of the prince’s shirt that he was wearing. Roman was crying.

“I am so sorry Virgil. I honestly just assumed it was our normal banter. I never thought to consider your side of thi- no, that is no excuse. I am a prince after all. I should have considered the feelings of all of my subjects, and that includes you Virgil. Especially after your video. Good God, I am horrible. I have been making an effort to call you by your proper name since you decided to trust us with it, but I still cannot do something as simple as be nice to you. For the love of Disney, I reacted to our current situation with accusing you of disgracing my sash when in truth, I am irritated that you look better in it than I do! Now I learn what I assumed was harmless and playful banter would have sent you into an attack. Virgil I am so truly sorry. You are amazing, and an amazing actor on top of it. I can promise that with complete sincerity. That performance was astounding, and you should be proud of yourself. Not even the Sherlock and Watson impersonators could tell it wasn’t me, and to assure you I am speaking from my heart with no dramatics, I can literally say that it would indeed kill me to compliment you at this point, so please know that only about half the stuff I have said since the ‘The Dark Side of Disney’ video, and absolutely nothing since your video was ever meant to hurt you. I would clichély ask if you could ever forgive me, but I would not blame you if you never could. I am so sorry Virgil, but know that you are wonderful, and deserve so much better than how you have been treated. You should never need to feel like you need to be anyone but you.”

Virgil sat frozen in absolute shock as he tried to gather his thoughts. Slowly he hugged Roman back and sighed, “Roman, self-deprecating remember? Anything you said, I had already thought a hundred and one times before. I was never actually upset with you. I was mad at myself that you were right. Don’t apologize for nothing. I’ll probably always think like this…, but thank you. I wasn’t trying to blame you at all. It just came out that way. I just wanted you to know why it will be a while before I don’t internally cringe at any praise from you…Can you please stop crying now? I seriously am not worth crying over.” He mumbled awkwardly.

Prince glared at him now, “Virgil Sanders, just stop it,” Roman warned with his inner Patton coming out. “You are too worth it. You will always be worth it, and from now on, it will be my life’s mission to make sure you know it! And if you ever truly need to be someone else for a while to cope, you now have full access to my costume room.” Roman, decided, producing a skeleton key for said closet that he forced into Virgil’s grasp. “Just please know how much you are loved,” he whispered.

Virgil stared at Princey wide-eyed as he blushed. Roman quickly followed suit as he realized what he just said, “By all of us, of course!” He clarified quickly, face the color of his sash as he covered it with is hands.

Virgil gave the prince one of his rare genuine smiles, and buried his face in Roman’s chest as he hugged him. “Thank you, Roman. Thank you…After hearing that….I think it will be easier now.”

Roman grinned as he hugged the dark prince back without hesitation. “Of course, Virgil. We really do love you,” he smiled, petting the other’s hair.

Virgil made a happy noise that honestly almost sounded like a happy kitten as they stayed like that for a while, taking in their new fragile alliance until Virge thought of something. “Hey, Roman?”

“Yes, dark prince?”

Virgil smiled at that one. “So you think I look better than you in this get up?”

Roman groaned. “We were having such a nice moment!” He exclaimed, back to his dramatics as Virgil cackled next to him. He smiled despite himself; he was just glad to see the other happy. ‘He truly is wonderful, and I will happily spend the rest of my life making sure he knows it every day.’

With this vow in place, Roman finally caved and joined Virgil in his laughter, mismatched clothes all but forgotten.

Don't be creepy to retail workers please God

Hi, local goth-turned-tumblr esque store employee here. And boy do I got a couple stories for you.

Today (8/24/17) my manager (let’s call her…Megan) got a message from a former coworker about a Craiglist post. Apparently a (presumably) female customer has a little crush on Megan and put it out on the lost connections page about how she was too afraid to ask her for her number in person. Any other day we’d brush it off as an innocent thing. But this customer put my manager’s name on the site a long with her last name which she shouldn’t have known. Our nametags only have our first names. Which means this customer somehow found out my manager’s full name which is a little unsettling. It shook her so much she called our store manager on her day off about it.

Now me. About a month or two ago now a 30 something yr old man came in with his 2 yr old daughter. They shopped and came up to the register. Now anyone who’s dealt with kids at the register knows you need to keep those fuckers occupied or they’ll screw you up bad. So I talked with her and even gave her a (broken) keychain to swap for the signed receipt. I get my receipt, put their stuff in a bag and am all prepared to send them on their way when I get the dreaded “can I get your number” question.

I tell him that I doubt my bf would appreciate that (despite being a very single pringle but that’s beside the point) and he goes away. I think that’s the last of him until about 2 weeks later. He comes back in when I’m alone, does nothing creepy but reminds me of our last conversation. Leaves, I think it’s the end of it. Nope, comes in 2 days ago. I get a phone call early in the day, no one on the line. A couple hours later he walks in. Luckily my other keyholder is there, as well as another customer. I do everything in my power to keep my attention on the other guy so that I don’t have to talk to creepy guy. Both leave, I tell my keyholder the story, I think that’s the end. NOPE. Today I get a call, no answer but a click. Guess who strolls through my door a few hours later.

I’m talking with Megan while censoring shirts when I see him. Immediately I tense up but keep working. Guy goes to the Funko Pop wall, grabs one, comes VERY close to me and asks me if we have a certain Pop in stock. We don’t and I tell him so. He puts it back and returns, asks me out again. I tell him the same thing, my boyfriend wouldn’t like that. He says “thought I’d ask again” and leaves.

I don’t know if it’s just me being paranoid, but I’m scared now to answer the phone. What if it’s him and he only comes in while I’m there? Please customers, leave retail workers alone. We are working and don’t want/need to deal with you being creepy

THE MANDELA EFFECT PT. 2 [BARRY ALLEN]

summary: in which barry allen returns to the original timeline and discovers that he has gained another seemingly important person to his life.

a/n: did not expect the part one to have a lot of reads in one day but thank you!! this part two of the imagine is the continuation of the supposed fanfic i was going to make, so as you can probably notice, it follows the story line of the flash’s third season and is also written in third person.

PART 1, PART 3, PART 4

Masterlist + Request here!

The sun shone brightly as Y/N along with Barry marched towards the rocky shore, heading to the place where Julian Albert was examining the latest skin husk. Barry was trailing behind you, noticing that from the short time he has spent with Y/N in this new timeline, she was an independent woman who knew how to get work done.

Y/N, on the other hand, noticed every different movement Barry has been showing since yesterday. When he suddenly ran off and left her in their apartment, Y/N already began to get suspicious. For that whole day, it didn’t seem like the two spoke too much, probably because Barry was taking in his brand new life by bits and pieces, visiting his old friend Felicity Smoak to listen to him. Or perhaps he didn’t know how to act towards Y/N and purposely avoided her throughout the day in fear of confrontation.

“Julian, I thought you could use some help on this one. You know, the two heads thing and all.” Y/N called out to the man who was crouched down, taking some evidence for tests later on.

Julian turned around to take a look on who was speaking, noticing Barry that made him automatically scowl.

“I don’t need any help, Detective.” he told Y/N, “Especially from him.” he nodded towards Barry’s direction.

Barry ignored this and instead crouched down as well to take a better look on what was on the rocks. “What is that?” he asked.

“Another epidermal husk, Allen. A fully intact human pelt, comprised of nothing but the stratum corneum.” Julian was quick to respond, noticing Barry’s clueless expression in which he looked at Y/N, “You see what I mean?”

Y/N sighed but said nothing.

Barry rolled his eyes. “Do we have any theories as to what’s causing them?”

“Well, I’ll take a wild guess at it and say it’s the same thing that created the last four husks.” Julian answered sarcastically.

“Spalling could be caused from toxic epidermal necrolysis, or maybe some kind of moist desquamation from intense radiation exposure.” Barry suggested as he looked at Y/N.

It was the first time they have even made eye contact since yesterday and Barry felt as if his stomach dropped. He was still talking though, and Y/N/s gaze on his face caused him to stammer.

“We’ve had a lot of …” Barry trailed.

“Radioactive metas.” Julian finished his sentence for him. “Yes, thank you, Allen. I’ve read all the case studies. I’ll tell you what, when I figure it out, I’ll enlighten you then, shall I?”

Barry forced a smile onto his face. “Thanks.” he said before standing up and putting his sunglasses on.

Y/N chuckled at his obvious state of annoyance towards his co-worker and stood beside him. “Let me guess, you hate him.” she mused.

Barry sighed, “How have I worked with this guy for the past year?”

“Patience. Extreme patience.” she answered.

“Makes sense.” Barry muttered.

Y/N turned back to Julian, “Hey, are you certain that Barry can’t take a sample or something to speed things along?”

Julian stood up, “I’m sure, Detective.” he gave Barry a disappointed look, “Quite sure.”

Barry nodded.

Y/N raised her eyebrows at him and he immediately understood why, speeding over then and getting his own sample without getting noticed. They turned around as Barry readjusted his case, Y/N walking closer to his side to say something.

“You might wanna get that to S.T.A.R. Labs.” she looked up at him since he was much taller than her.

Barry nodded. “Yeah.”

As they climbed up to the steps, Barry offered a hand to Y/N to help her push herself up since they were a bit high. She gladly took it and smiled gratefully at the gesture. When they reached the top, Y/N didn’t bother to let go of Barry’s hand, in which the speedster’s neck suddenly became hot because of the skin contact.

“You’ve been acting very differently.” Y/N began. “It’s like you always find a way to avoid me and if I touch you you flinch.”

Barry’s mouth felt dry. “Uh, what?”

“Oh, don’t give me that look.” Y/N chuckled. “You know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Barry’s heart beat became instantly fast at how observant she was, and how she managed to know something wasn’t right in the span of being with Barry for only two days.

He let go of her hand in that moment, guilt filling his head, causing Y/N to arch an eyebrow. “Barry, are you really sure that everything is —”

“Y/N, I’m sorry.” he said, “But I can’t lie to you like this. You really seem like a nice girl and …” he sighed.

“What?” she asked.

“I just need time to think about what we’re supposed to be.” he explained. “Because I don’t honestly know.”

Y/N crossed her arms, “You don’t know? What kind of crap of an excuse is that supposed to be?”

Barry was intimidated by how she was speaking to him right now and how her eyes pierced through his.

“You wouldn’t understand.” he reasoned.

Y/N snorted, “I’m sure I would. You can’t tell me that you don’t know what we are after being my boyfriend for a year.”

He widened his eyes. “A year?”

“Yes, a whole year.” she said.

Barry sighed and frustratingly ran his finger through his hair. “Y/N, I think we need to talk.”

She scoffed because of what he said, “I think we really do, Barry.”

In that moment, Barry carried her bridal style back to their supposedly shared apartment. Y/N didn’t seem to be surprised at his actions, it almost seemed as if she had expected it.

“Okay, so explain.” she urged him.

Barry licked his lips, “What I’m about to tell you is really crazy and I need you to promise me to keep it to yourself before telling the others. I mean, I don’t even know why I’m telling you this but you’re not even supposed to be here in the first place so –”

“Excuse me?” Y/N cut him off in shock of what he claimed.

He raised his hands up in surrender, “Just please, Y/N, promise me. Just trust me on this.”

Y/N looked at him and sighed. “I’ve always trusted you, Barry.”

With that statement, his face softened, and then he started to explain.

✦ ✦ ✦

“You’re telling me that right after Henry died in this” – she made air quotes with her hands – “original timeline, you went back to the night when your mother died and stopped the Reverse-Flash from killing her. And then you lived in another timeline which is called Flashpoint where both of your parents are alive and you are not the Flash. Then when you went back and changed the timeline again, Iris and Joe aren’t speaking and I am suddenly your girlfriend.”

“Well, if you put it that way it does sound a little surreal.” Barry pointed out.

Y/N found herself sitting down on the chair inside their kitchen, gripping the mug she has been holding for the whole time they talked. Barry took the seat beside her, not really knowing what to tell her when he basically just told the poor girl that he didn’t love her and didn’t even remember every single thing that happened for the past year while Y/N considered it as the best year of her life.

She shrugged, “It’s not surreal if you’re the Flash and really do have the ability to travel back to time.”

Barry pursed his lips, “I’m sorry, Y/N. You needed to know.”

“I know.” she nodded, her eyes already brimming with tears at the realization. “I just - I just need time to think clearly.”

Y/N’s mouth felt dry. She also felt like she has been punched in the face and the oxygen in her body was knocked out of her system. How was she supposed to react when the boy she truly loved claimed that he doesn’t even know her nor even loved her back. She could feel her breathing getting faster by each minute that passed.

“Where are you going?” Barry had asked when Y/N abruptly stood up, got her bag, and headed towards the door.

She looked back, “Somewhere where I can be alone with my thoughts.” she said, gently closing the door shut then, the tears in her eyes escaping and falling on her cheeks.

It’s obvious now that he probably isn’t going to come crawling back, you aren’t going to have a place in his or her life anymore, and most of all, he doesn’t need you anymore.

You are stirred from your sleep state from an incessant banging and yelling coming from outside of your door. You drowsily put on your glasses and turn your lamp on, still disoriented from being ripped out of a deep sleep at 3 am. You stand up from your bed and walk over to your bathroom where your pajama bottoms are on the floor, but your door flies open before you have a chance.

Fuck! Shawn, what the hell?” You ask, spooked, but you instantly know something is wrong by the tears streaming down his face and the urgency in his abrupt entrance.

The first challenge came almost immediately. Natalie had auditioned in her natural hair color, which is blonde, fully expecting that if she got the role she would play Anne as a brunette. She knew her history, and it never occurred to her that the executives at Showtime would have anything else in mind. She was concerned, in fact, that her strong physical differences from Anne—including her blue eyes—would disqualify her for the part. She reassured herself about the eyes—“they aren’t the right color, but just like Anne, I’ve been told they are my most becoming feature” (actually, there’s not a feature on Natalie’s face that isn’t dazzling.) But she knew the hair would have to be changed. So after she received the phone call telling her she’d won the part—largely on the basis, Hirst told me, of the “physical chemistry” between her and Rhys Meyers (Natalie describes it as “a lot of heaving bosom stuff”), after becoming “hysterical with joy,” she immediately dyed her hair. When she arrived on set, Dee Corcoran, chief of the hair department, who won an Emmy for her work on the show and was “almost like an Irish mother” to Natalie, took her aside. “Okay, we’ve got a really serious problem—you dyed your hair. They are really unhappy. Really unhappy.” “They” were the Showtime execs. “So they sent me back to the hairdresser and they tried to dye blonde back in. But any hairdresser will tell you that it doesn’t work to put peroxide blonde on jet black. I looked like a badger! I was terrified that I’d lose the role. I mean, what did they have planned, now that I was multi-colored—to put me in a blonde wig?” Dormer wasn’t sure she could accept that. “Anne’s hair color is such an important detail! For one thing, it was the basis of a lot of nasty labels—Wolsey calling her the “night crow” and so on. And also, in being a confident brunette she was defying the ideal, of what it meant for a female to be attractive at that time.” “So we’re all barely cast, and I went to Bob Greenblatt with my heart in my mouth, and told him how important it was that Anne be dark. ‘Bob, I have to play her dark. It’s so important. You have to let me play her dark!’ Some might say I was being melodramatic and self-important. But I thought it would just be a direct betrayal of Anne. Of her refusal to step into the imprint of the acceptable norm at the time.” “Greenblatt, who is a very shrewd man, just said ‘I’ll think about it.” I assumed I’d lost the job. I felt completely and utterly depressed. But then I got a phone call a few days later, telling me that Bob had decided I could be dark.”

How each turtle acts after having sex: Raphael

Raph:

Ooohh boy. Raphael would basically…destroy you in bed. You both would be laying in bed both panting and covered in sweat. He leans over places a few kisses and on your face and neck and starts to get out of bed. You looked at him with half-lidded eyes and a little smirk. Raph sent a smirk back to you.

“I’ll be right back, baby. Gotta shower.” Raph said. You nodded you head and started to drift off. He put on his shorts and started towards the bathroom. Everyone would immediately know that Raph had just had sex because after the shower would turn on, it wouldn’t be long before you would hear a certain song being played through his small Bluetooth speaker.

“Freak Me by Silk”

“Aw sick, Raph had sex. That stupid song is playing again.” Donnie would mumble while he would work on a project.

Pack Mother - Derek Hale - Part 6

Characters: Derek Hale, AJ, Reader.

Kinda NSFW

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5

AJ was at the house almost as much as the pack. You’d done subtle things, such as place your hand on his arm when he says something funny, or wear something just a little too short or a little too tight when he was around. No one had caught on yet, but you knew that AJ would jump you the second he got the chance.

Derek had gone out with Stiles for a training session and left you at home with Max. At three months old, he’s been sleeping through the night a little bit more so you’ve had a bit of time to make yourself presentable. Which is saying a lot compared to the first month, when you were lucky if you’d showered that week.

Derek walks in the door, fuming.

You had Max balanced on your hip, feeding him a bottle. Both of your heads turned towards the slammed door. “What’s wrong?”

Derek shakes his head, taking his leather jacket off and hanging it up. “Stiles is so stubborn! He doesn’t even try to learn. All he wants to do it smart off.” He grunts. He walks over to you and holds his arms out for Max. You hand Max to him and his face immediately softens. “Hi, baby boy.” He smiles and Max giggles.

“What’d he do this time?” You grab a towel off the counter and begin cleaning up.

“I mean, he refuses to let anyone tell him anything. I tried to help him with the whole mental side of things and he just won’t listen. We got into a fight and he left. I’m sure he’ll turn up in an hour or so to complain to you.” He sits at the counter with Max in his lap.

“Honestly, Derek..you’re a little too hard on him. He’s got a quick wit but he’s more fragile than the others. He doesn’t respond to tough love.” You shrug.

“Of course you take his side.” He rolls his eyes.

“Hey, I’m not taking sides. I’m simply putting it out there that Stiles is a little sensitive.”

“Well, I’m putting it out there that I think you never side with me.”

“Oh come on. I’m not defending him. Derek don’t be a big baby.” You roll your eyes and cross your arms.

Derek scoffs. “Yeah. I’m the big baby. It’s Stiles, for God’s sake. The kid has a skull so hard I’m not sure insults even penetrate it.”

“Derek, just because he imprinted on you first after he changed doesn’t mean you understand him more. He’s a kid. He’s barely eighteen. You just don’t understand what he’s going through.”

“And you do? You’re telling me that a twenty-three year old woman can understand an eighteen year old high school boy more than I can? Okay..” Derek stands up with Max.

“What the hell? I was just talking with you, why did you feel the need to get so heated?” You sigh.

“I get heated because you always choose the kids first! You never see my side of things.”

“Derek, I am the pack mother. If you don’t like it, fine. But, you’re not going to tell me not to care about those kids.”

It’s been a week an no one has heard from Stiles. You can tell Derek is feeling guilty, but you are beyond pissed at him. You haven’t spoken to him since your argument.

“Y/N..I’m going out to look for Stiles.”

You throw him a sarcastic thumbs up. “I don’t know why you think going out and searching for him everyday will make a difference. He’s gone, Derek. It’s your fault. He was the baby. He was the closest one to me and you had to screw that up.”

“God, will you stop blaming me for everything that goes wrong?”

“I will when it’s not your fault! You yelled at him and now he’s gone. You keep yelling at me too, you’re lucky I’m here. You could never handle the pack on your own.”

“Oh, sure. I lost your baby and now you’re pissy. Get over yourself. Stiles left on his own, if he was really your baby he would’ve let you know where he went.” Derek walked out the front door, slamming it behind him.

You sat in front of the couch, trying not to cry. Derek had been so mean to you recently and you couldn’t figure out why. A switch just flipped in him. You groaned when you heard a knock at the door. You got up and answered it.

“Hey you.” It was AJ.

“Hey.” You felt better. You were going to start your payback right here. Right now.

He steps inside and you close the door behind him. “Where’s Derek?”

“Oh, you just missed him.” You shrug. “You can wait until he gets back if you want.”

He sits on the couch and you sit beside him. “Where’s the little dude?” He smiles.

“Oh he’s down for a nap. He should be up soon.”

“I was just about to go shower…do you mind waiting? I’ll only be like ten minutes.” You smile.

“Sure. No problem.” He nods and you head upstairs. You hoped Isaac wouldn’t come home but you know that he probably would. He’s got a knack for showing up at the wrong moment.

You showered and put on a tight t-shirt and short shorts. You smirked at yourself in the mirror before going downstairs.

“Hey. Sorry, I took longer than I thought.” You sit back down and watch his eyes give you a subtle once over.

“You’re fine..I wanted to ask you something and I hope it’s not too soon.” AJ smiles.

“Yeah?”

“Do you want to go on a date with me? Tomorrow?”

You smile. “Yeah. I do.”

“I’ll be here at 7 then?”

“Works for me.”

Derek walked in and you turned and looked at him. You immediately stood up went upstairs and left AJ with him.

You called Stiles again. You knew it wouldn’t make a difference but you’re still trying. You looked at yourself in the mirror. You looked hot. You answer the door when AJ arrives.

“Hi.” He smirks. “You look great.”

“Thank you. Come on in, I want to run upstairs and tell Max bye.” He nods and steps inside.

You go upstairs and tuck him in, kissing his forehead before you go. Derek catches you in the hallway.

“Where are you going?”

“What does it matter to you?”

“I’m just asking a question.”

“I’m not sure I should answer. I wouldn’t want to make it your fault.” You go downstairs and meet AJ at the door. Derek follows behind you.

“Ready?” You nod and guides you outside, his hand on your waist. “Bye, Derek!” He waves at him and you smirk. That was petty. AJ was honestly being nice but you knew that would piss Derek off.

The date was average. You knew AJ enjoyed it though. You got home and you saw Derek looking out the window when you got there, so when AJ leaned in for a kiss, you didn’t deny him. You said goodbye and walked inside, taking off your shoes and going upstairs. You got up to your room and started to unzip your dress.

Derek had been staying in Isaac’s room. You didn’t know the details, you just knew you didn’t want him with you anymore.

You take your dress off and put it in the laundry. You’re just about to take off your bra and shower when Derek walks in.

“Derek!” You grab a shirt off the bed and cover with it.

“AJ? Really? Are you trying to make me jealous? Because, it seems like you are.”

“Why does my reasoning for going on a date have to involve you?”

He steps forward. “I know you, Y/N. I know that you’re trying to make me jealous.”

“I couldn’t care less about you being jealous.” You cross your arms over your chest, holding the shirt to your body.

“I know that that’s a lie..I know because I can smell the arousal dripping from you.” He steps even closer.

“Don’t act like I can’t smell you. I know that when I wear those red shorts you’ll smell like arousal for a week afterwards. I also know that when we’re sleeping, if I turn against you I can get you hard.”

Derek smirks, “You getting me hard is no surprise.”

“Oh yeah? Then why’d you tell AJ I was available?”

“Because you are. I don’t see a boyfriend here.”

He steps forward again, your lips inches apart.

He pulls the shirt off of you, smirking.

“Derek..” You look up at him and bite your lip.

He watches your actions and picks you up, holding your thighs while he presses you to the wall. “I think you know what you do to me, the little fights you pick, the outfits you wear..”

“What do I do to you? I had no idea.” You smirk.

“You drive me..” He presses his lips to yours. “Absolutely.” He kisses you again. “Crazy.”

You wrap your arms around his neck, kissing him back. You’d been waiting for this for a long time.

You kiss down his jawline, pressing a kiss behind his ear. You smirk when you hear him groan, sucking on the spot you’d just kissed. You start to pull on his shirt when you hear Max screaming. You both groan and he puts you down.

You throw on a t-shirt and shorts before jogging down the hallway. You kept his crib in Isaac’s room while he was gone. You’d talked about getting a new house so everyone can have their own room, but you haven’t started looking.

You scoop the baby up, rocking with him. His shrieks turn to whispers as you comfort him.

“I don’t want you to go out with AJ again.” Derek says quietly.

“What’s going to stop me?” You turn and look at him.

“Everytime you see him I’ll kiss you like that again.” He smirks.

“You may see that as punishment but I see that as motivation to see him as many times as possible.” You smile.

“If you want it all you have to do is ask.”

Aaron Hotchner / Afraid

As per anon’s request:

Hotch x reader, where she meets jack for the first time and after a while they’re watching a movie and there is a wedding in the movie (Disney) and Jack casually asks them when they are getting married? She also works for the bau and is younger than him around 25?

I loooooved writing this. Dad! Hotch is the best, and if you guys could keep the Hotch requests coming I’d be thrilleddd. He’s literally the sweetest. Anyway, a few thoughts: I think Hotch would be insecure dating, given his history and his need to put others before his own desires, he would feel like he’s holding the person back from a more fulfilling relationship. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Yes, sir.” Mitch said dryly.
