and then my transformation will be complete

NEW STORY

I just posted my new story!

It’s called “A Person’s skin!” basically it is about Altean Lance, but Lance doesn’t realize he is Altean/not human, till he turns 14~~~

LINK

summary:

Lance was your average kid till he turned 14 and transformed into some sort of elven prince with silver hair and blue markings on his body. Learning that he was adopted into the family, he discovers that he might not be as human as he originally thought. He attempts to keep his life normal and he enrolls into Garrison to complete his dream. Who would’ve thought he would have fallen in love with a guy with a mullet, or that this mullet was some conspiracy nut who discovered his secret?
Now he just has to get through this year without Keith figuring out his major crush and Lance will be fine… that’ll be easy, right?

“Starscream’s Lullaby” is an AU inspired by the plot in The Lion King 2, but mainly by the song “My Lullaby”. I made some re-draws of parts of the song, and as you can see I’ve changed the lyrics to fit the Transformers universe better. Also feat. my own Thundercracker and Skywarp Prime-designs.

AU lore explanation under the cut!

Hey Potterheads!

With Halloween right around the corner, I figured it’s high time I put out a call for help.

Every year, my friends and I transform our garage into a completely immersive Hogwarts walkthrough based on a book a year. Last Halloween we weren’t able to do it, due to a complete lack of funds, but we are determined to bring it back with Book 3 this year! Despite still being really poor

We’ve started up a ko-fi page for donations, since it accepts amounts as small as $3 (a bit easier to donate to vs typical min. $5 places) and doesn’t take out ridiculous fees.

If you could help by either spreading the word or donating, we will be eternally grateful!

DONATE HERE

Even if you don’t want to donate, it would still be worth it to click the button, because there’s a video on the ko-fi page that shows what the walkthrough was like.

Under the cut are a bunch of images of the event from two years back, to help show what we were able to achieve, even on our limited budget back then. Just imagine what we can do if we had an even bigger budget for this year!!

Nighttime Skincare Routine!✨

I have oily/combo/acne prone skin

Products are listed in order of use

  1. Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil // Feels luxurious and removes my makeup wonderfully
  2. Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (not pictured) // I use this to remove stubborn eye makeup that didn’t come off completely in step one
  3. Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser // Gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin, but I don’t think its worth the price
  4. Biologique Recherche Lotion p50 1970 // Exfoliating toner that makes my skin glow
  5. Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil // Just began trying this out, clears the congestion in my skin (but smells nauseating)

Rhodey: Okay fine, but we’re turning it into a Hummer. Corvette’s are completely show-off-y, uselss, mid-life crisis cars.
Tony: I’m just going to pretend I didn’t hear that, Honey Bear.

Thank you guys for the prompts and so sorry for the wait! This definitely got a little more intense than my original plan… :P But no regrets! Here is the Sciencelings’ attempt at an (ill-advised) birthday present. They tried

Yuri on Ice interview translation - Animage 2017/01 (p20-23)

I was going to post this last week but gave priority to the BD stuff. This will be the final interview from the booklet that came with January Animage! There’s still an interview with Kenji Miyamoto left untranslated, but it will be taken care of by @whiteboxgems whenever she has time! I’ll reblog it when it’s around.

This is actually 2 interviews, I’m posting them together because they were one after the other and (main reason) because the second one is very short.
A few notes below to better understand the interviews.

The first one is with Yuuichirou Hayashi, the one who created the ending (ED = ending by the way) footage. I have the feeling someone previously posted translations of the captions under the ED screenshots, but I don’t remember where and I’m pretty sure it was just the captions and not the interview parts, so here you have it complete. This one is pretty interesting because he explains in detail how they created the ED, and has some extra information on cut scenes etc. Definitely a must read in my opinion!

The second one is a short interview with Kayoko Ishikawa, the one who did the costume designs. Here you might think: didn’t Chacott design the costumes? I’ll explain. It’s more or less like with Mitsurou Kubo and Tadashi Hiramatsu: Kubo created the original designs for the characters, from scratch, and Hiramatsu transformed them into designs specifically created for animation, therefore with simpler lines, detailed expression sheets and so on. Likewise, Chacott did the original designs for the costumes, from scratch, based on the indications by Yamamoto and Kubo, and then the anime’s costume designer simplified and modified them so that they would be suitable to be animated. (Before actually animating them there’s a further step: the anime’s color designer is going to decide the exact colors, shadows and highlights included, that will be used inside the anime. I translated an interview with the color designer Izumi Hirose some time ago)

I usually don’t add pictures but this time I felt that it would be better to add them as an immediate reference. However, they are just for reference and are not meant to be visually stunning, so please bear with the quality because I just took photos of the magazine with my phone and quickly edited them.

Translation under the cut! (kind of image-heavy)

***If you wish to share this translation please do it by reblogging or posting a link to it***

***Re-translating into other languages is ok but please mention that this post is the source***

Hello! I didn’t actually expect that many people to request this and I was going to make this anyways soooo… Let’s get to it!

Before we get started to actually making the spread, you first need to answer the following:

  • Do I want to follow a theme?
  • If so, what theme do I want?
  • What are the things that motivate me?
  • Are there certain people that motivate me?
  • Do I want to plan my weekends?

My weekly spread isn’t the same every week and I change some things very often because I feel like it’s necessary to do so but I’m not one to change my over all color scheme very often although there are some studygrams who change theirs every week. It’s hard to keep on changing your theme if you are a studyblr so I suggest to stick to one for a long time. It’s not necessary to have one but it makes it more neat and pleasing in the eyes and makes it look more organized. I don’t know what they’re originally called, but I call them ‘space-fillers’ mainly because they fill up space (duh). To sum it up, these are basically little things you can add to your bujo to make it more handy and useful. (* - my favorites) Some examples are:

  • Weekly Playlist*
  • Sleep Tracker
  • Water Count
  • Thought of The Day (TOTD)*
  • Quote of The Day (QOTD)
  • Daily Mood
  • Weekly Expenses
  • What I Eat in a Day*

I want to make this clear, because I live in the Philippines, I don’t really have access to expensive stationeries that you could always see on tumblr and instagram such as Tombows, Muji pens, Artline Stix, and Mildliners. I know that there are some MUJI branches in Manila but it would mean climbing Mt. Everest, crossing the Han River, and spending your life savings. Not worth it (in my opinion because I’m like 14 who basically depends on her parents). So, learn to use what you have and supplies are just supplies. Expensive stationery don’t equal to immediately having beautiful lettering. I just use the Faber Castel ones but depending on where you live, these might not be available for you. I use it because it’s cheaper and does the job. Although the tips do fray overtime, you’re still getting more than what you paid for. So definitely a must-try.

Before we start. Checklist (* - optional)

  • Bujo
  • Markers
  • Glue
  • Ballpen
  • Ruler
  • Highlighter*
  • Washi Tape*
  • Colored Paper*
  • Photos*
  • Music

(I didn’t list any specific brands because you can always substitute supplies)

Okay and now we can finally start!

Playing a Exalted game. Our group is traveling to  a major city when on an isolated spot of road we find the path completely blocked by a ‘fallen’ tree that was obviously cut recently. Knowing this scenario from a thousand RPGs we prepare. My Lunar transformed into her Deadly Beastman form, The Dawn caste draws his sword, the Night caste his bow.

Our Eclipse, however just goes and stand on the tree and shouts: Ho Bandits! Please come out so we may negotiate your continued existence!

+ You just remember lots of crying and trying to hurt him with your weak punches to his chest.
+ They didn’t effect him one bit. He just stood there and took it.
+ “Was everything a lie, Reiner?!”
+ Silence.
+ “Answer me, dammit!”
+ “No!”
+ “Y-You lied to me! All those nights we spent together and  I poured my heart out to you! What were you thinking?!”
+ After all the tears and yelling you stood in silence looking at the man you once loved.
+ “You’re a monster…”

why do I continue to hurt myself like this

The Historical Legacy of Juneteenth

Photo:  Juneteenth day celebration in Texas. 1900.

Juneteenth is one of the most important events in our nation’s history. On “Freedom’s Eve” or the eve of January 1, 1863 the first Watch Night services took place. On that night, enslaved and free African Americans gathered in churches and private homes all across the country awaiting news that the Emancipation Proclamation had taken effect.

At the stroke of midnight, prayers were answered as all enslaved people in the Confederate States were declared legally free. Union soldiers, many of whom were black, marched onto plantations and across cities in the south reading small copies of the Emancipation Proclamation spreading the news of freedom.

But not everyone in Confederate territory would immediately be free. Even though the Emancipation Proclamation was made effective in 1863, it could not be implemented in places still under Confederate control. This meant that in the westernmost Confederate state of Texas, enslaved people would not be free until much later. On June 19, 1865 that changed, when enslaved African Americans in Galveston Bay, TX were notified by the arrival of some 2,000 Union troops that they, along with the more than 250,000 other enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree.

Photo:  Publishers throughout the North responded to a demand for copies of Lincoln’s proclamation and produced numerous decorative versions including this engraving by R. A. Dimmick in 1864. National Museum of American History, gift of Ralph E. Becker.

The post-emancipation period known as Reconstruction (1865-1877) marked an era of great hope, uncertainty, and struggle for the nation as a whole. Formerly enslaved people immediately sought to reunify families, establish schools, run for political office, push radical legislation and even sue slaveholders for compensation. This was nothing short of amazing! Not even a generation out of enslavement, African Americans were inspired and empowered to completely transform their lives and their country.

In my opinion, Juneteenth (as that day was called by the freed enslaved people in Texas) marks our country’s second independence day. Though it has long been celebrated among the African American community it is a history that has been marginalized and still remains largely unknown to the wider public.

The historical legacy of Juneteenth shows the value of deep hope and urgent organizing in uncertain times. The National Museum of African American History and Culture is a community space where that spirit can continue to live on – where histories like this one can surface, and new stories with equal urgency can be told.

I began this piece of my heART at the beginning of my pregnancy, and just N:OW finally feeling that she is complete. So much love and intention went into this painting transmission.
***As the caterpillar enters the cocoon. A new life enters the womb. Pure soul awaiting to be reborn. Merging into physical form. A butterfly emerges in the heart of the mother. Transformation into unconditional love like no other. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. Opening and releasing. Rainbows crystallize by her feet. In her aura these colors meet. Visualize. Connecting to the soul star above. Raining down golden Christ light and love. Purifying. Cleansing. Healing within. “I call upon the violet flame.” The violet flame begins to burn. Transmuting any and all illusion into love. Surrounding the goddess. Grounding the light & love from above. Through the sacral and the root. Creating a grounding cord. Penetrating Mother Earth towards her center. Raising the vibration of our planet through this practice. Breathing. In and out. Focus. Feel the love of the light fill your closed eyes. The creator within us all. The throat opens. Truth of Gods love begins to sing out in hues of blues. “WE ARE ONE!” She sings. Indigo light in her third eye rings. The truth of this creation. One being reflected into all forms of manifestation. “A baby, another me, another we.” Feeling the body lighten. How to let it all go and not be frightened? To know there is no end. Never fear. Just the beginning of a new life. Rebirthing into a higher light. Surrender. Giving love with every breath. Release the grip of fear and begin to fly. An owl in the starry night sky. Looking down at your creation. What a pleasure it is to come to this realization. One with it all. I open my eyes. To a visionary painting, created to see through all the lies.**
