and then kept fiddling with it

alternatively titled, “how to be a decent human being to people who are suffering enough as it is to help your supposedly entitled ass”

1. get off your cell phone.
      - cashiers ( not to mention the people patiently waiting in line ) don’t need to hear about how little Kelsey’s doing on the soccer team, or how your mother-in-law is coming into town for her birthday and you’re just SO INCONVENIENCED by having to purchase paper plates and cheap napkins before her arrival.  just tell them you’ll call them back when you’re done.
      - if you can’t be assed to think about other people, at least acknowledge the cashier with a smile or a wave.  if they speak to you or ask you a question, don’t shush them.  tell your BFF Tanisha to hold on for what might be a total of four seconds.

2.  when an item doesn’t immediately scan, please say anything but “oh, it must be free!”  please, dear god, anything but that.  you’re not being funny.  or clever.  or original.  they hear this at least ten times a day.

3.  the number of items listed on the express lane is not a suggestion.  if you know that you have more items, don’t go there.  it’s that simple.  the express lanes have to be kept open for people who have small orders, so they’re not stuck behind someone with a cart piled high with what’s maybe a week’s worth of food and clothes you’ll inevitably be returning.

4.  while unloading your cart, put the big items ( i.e., packages of toilet paper, crates of water bottles ) last.  there’s very little room for the cashiers to work with.  when you’re done unloading your cart, pull it up to the loading space and start putting the bags and other items into your cart instead of standing there and staring off into space or fiddling with your phone.

5.  when you ask a cashier a store-related question ( i.e., how many coupons are allowed per order, whether or not you’re getting the right BOGO deal, etc. ), and they answer you politely and confidently, don’t challenge them.  they work there.  you don’t.  they know the way the store works.  you don’t.  if they’ve forgotten something or made a mistake, by all means, ask them about it – but do it politely.  we all make mistakes.

6.  do not – i repeat, do not – put your money down on the counter or conveyor belt, especially if the cashier is visibly ready to take it.  hand it over to them.  if you need to count out some change, tell them so they can wait.  oh, and if they’ve already cashed you out, don’t hand over some random amount of change after the drawer’s open.

7.  if your card’s declined, it’s not their fault.  don’t ask them why it wasn’t accepted.  they don’t know.  and don’t get angry or impatient with them, or insist you have money because you just deposited a check – they do not care.  they cannot help you with problems that are clearly on your end.

8.  do not yell at a cashier.  once again, for the people in the back:  do not yell at a cashier, especially someone who’s clearly new to the job.  would you appreciate being yelled at for something beyond your control, or a simple, fixable mistake?  no.  so don’t do it to them.

9.  if you get an answer you don’t like from a cashier and ask to speak to a manager, guess what?  you’re most likely gonna get the same answer from them.  here’s a news flash: the customer is not always right, the company will not always pander to your temper tantrums, and making a scene in front of a line of people with quickly-diminishing patience will not change their minds.

10.  overall, please just be polite.  these people are working their asses off to help their customers, most of which don’t appreciate their efforts at all.  they’re constantly ignored, mistreated, questioned and degraded, and over time, it really does a number on their emotional state.  just be kind and courteous.  they’re human beings, not mindless drones.  smiles and nice conversations go a long way.

if anyone else has anything to add, feel free.  floor associates, back room / production workers – go crazy.  share your woes and pet peeves.

jeonghan = chronic fiddler

i love how hannie always mindlessly/subconsciously fiddles with things in the vicinity be it someone’s neck/hair/ears/clothes, his hands have to always be kept busy especially when he’s tired or bored. it’s cute how the members become so used to him doing it. his usual targets seem to be woozi and shua~

Auction AU Part 2

Here’s the first part  ! I recommend you read it before this part, or else it won’t make much sense.

Sorry this took like, ten million years. Thanks to everyone who messaged me and said they liked the first part, it always made my day <3

————

The relief only lasted so long once he realized that yes, no more old-leopard-print lady (thank god), but still there’s a date with someone. A stranger.

Jack’s barely held decent conversations with his teammates, how would a date with a stranger work?

    It wouldn’t. No way.

Feeling like he’d just survived a brutal game, Jack took a few seconds to gather himself. He wiped the condensation from his forehead (he really hoped no one had noticed), slowed his breathing, let his jaw unclench. Once his fingers became steady enough he fixed the cuffs of his uncomfortably hot suit.

“Fuck it,” He shucked the jacket off entirely. It felt good until he lifted his arms- “Ugh.”

   Pit stains.

For a moment he struggled with what to do: If I wear the jacket I’m uncomfortable and sweating more, but if I don’t people can see the sweat and thats embarrassing and-

“Jack!” Someone from management tapped his shoulder, “This way, the kid is waiting on stage right.” She gave him a brief once-over, “Put on the jacket.”

With a somewhat relieved nod, he slipped the jacket back on and wished for a calmer heart-beat.

The wish didn’t come true, of course. It rarely did.

They approached the stairs leading off the stage.

This kid must like you. They bid on you. They spent money for a date-thing-whatever with you. Just smile. Act like a normal-

   “Hi!”

   -person.

   “Uh, hi.”

Teacher (M)

Plot: Maybe asking your Korean teacher for help wasn’t such a bad idea. Good grades weren’t the only thing you were going to achieve from that.

Pairing: Teacher! Jung Hoseok x Student! reader

Genre: Smut

Warnings: Oral (receiving), Moaning denial, just full-on hardcore Jung Hoseok the sexy beast

Note: This is probably the first time I’m actually posting smut. It took me quite a while to write, considering it was very long, and I need to be in a certain mood for it. Thank you to my friend for giving me this idea. Please forgive me if there are any errors, english isn’t my first language. 3657 Words

P.S. You are 19 in this, and Hoseok is 25. I do not support all that underage sex stuff. Everything here is legal (wrong – please don’t fuck your teacher no matter how hot he is – but legal).

Korean Literature was probably your least favorite subject. You hated just everything about it – well – excluding the teacher. He always greeted you with a smile, asked you if you wanted help. You were the only foreigner in the class, after all. He gave you so much special attention, and you wouldn’t mind it at all. Unfortunately, that didn’t change your view on the subject. No matter how hard you tried, you always got a low grade.

“Okay students, remember we have a test on the new poem this Friday,” His voice echoed through your ears, breaking you out of your trance.

There was a solemn look on your face, while you stared out the window. Your eyes stayed on the uniformed kids flooding out of the school gates, while your nail dug under the staple holding your latest spelling test together.

5 out of 10. It was better than the last one.

No matter how bad it got, you always had this urge to try. You always wanted to keep studying for a higher score, but you just never seemed to understand everything that was thrown at you. It was like everything registered into your brain, but it never stayed – it disappeared, unlike your determination to do well.

As your eyes flickered over to the teacher, a nervous feeling settled in your chest. You now stayed after school for that exact reason. A few days ago, Hoseok had offered to help tutor you for an hour everyday until the test. It had been at least a week since he started, and you could safely say that you were getting better.

“Are you ready to start?”

“Yeah.”

[Part 1] - [Part 2] - [Part 3] - [Part 4] - Part 5]

Thirty-four hours.

It had been thirty-four hours since you’d yelled at Jungkook and he had left your office. It had been thirty-four hours since you’d collected yourself after shattering your phone set into pieces and ran out of your office looking for him. Jaebum told you with a dejected frown that Jungkook had left. Where to? His guess was just as good as yours, if not worse.

You ran out to your car, the chill of the night air biting against your bare arms and cheeks, but you’d be lying if you said you felt it. You went at a crawl through the streets, stomping down on the brakes and squinting to make out the face of each and every pedestrian you past who resembled Jungkook in any way. You had even called out to a few of them, earning you nothing more than odd stares or blatant ignorance. You didn’t believe he could have gotten very far, but after two hours of driving, there was no sign of him.

The hospital’s visiting hours were long over, which cut that out as an option. And it took a persuasive conversation and a few slow swipes of your tongue across your painted lips to convince the security guard of Jungkook’s apartment building to tell you that no one had come in or out since six that night. He’d left your building much later than that.

You returned to the building, your jaw aching from hours of clenching your teeth and your eyes downcast, staring at nothing in particular. Jaebum greeted you, and before he could get the chance to ask you what had happened, you held your hand up to him. You were tired of questions, you were tired of explaining things. But, mostly, you just didn’t want to relive the truth of the matter–this was entirely your fault.

Why Do You Hate Me?

Bucky x Reader Smut Fic

Warnings: pure smutty teasing

“What’s up, Steve?” You glanced around the interrogation room in the Tower. “Why’d you want to meet up so early?”

“Just wanted to go over our tactic for this guy coming in.” Steve eyed you carefully. “Make sure we’re on the same page.”

“Punch him if he doesn’t talk.” You sat down in what was to be his chair. “Tighten the restraints if he refuses.” Steve nodded, hands behind his back. “Then do whatever we need to get the information out of him.”

“That’s correct.” Steve pulled a switch out of his pocket and flipped it on. “I’m sorry to have to do this.”

Metal restraints folded over your wrists and ankles and held you in place. Your eyes shifted to Steve as you squirmed in the uncomfortable chair. Steve sat the switch on the table and gave you his best apologetic smile.

“You can’t keep running out of the room when Bucky enters, (Y/N).” Steve bit his lip and smiled wearily. “And when you two are in a room together, you turn your inner air conditioner down and become ice cold.”

“Steve…” You growled and yanked on the restraints. “Let me go.”

“Not until you two talk.” Steve turned on his heels and swung the door open.

Bucky walked, a smirk plastered on his face, and you froze. Your face went dark and your stare hardened; butterflies fluttered in your stomach. Steve left you alone with Bucky. You hated him.

He fiddled with the switch in silence while leaning up against the table. He eyed you carefully, taking in every inch of your body. His smirk grew as he noticed your hardened nipples through your tank top; you were braless. He kept his mouth shut.

“Let me go, Barnes.” You grumbled the words. “Now.”

“No.” He spoke calmly. “I want to know why you hate me.”

“There are a lot of reasons why I hate you.” Your stare didn’t waver. “We would be here all day if I listed them all.”

“Then just summarize.” He continued smiling. “The more we bicker, doll, the longer you’re stuck alone in a room with me.”

“You’re a womanizing, arrogant, old ass, murdering, son of a bitch who walks around like he owns the place.” You spat the words at him. “You get to do whatever the fuck you want because you’re Steve’s best friend and Steve’s word is the highest. You don’t have to fill out paperwork, go on missions you don’t want to, hell, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.”

“So, what I’m hearing is…” Bucky sat the switch down and walked towards you. He rested his hands onto of the metal restraints and leaned down to eye level. “You’re jealous?”

“I’m not jealous.” Your heart rate increased at the close proximity. “I’m angry.”

“See…” His eyes searched yours tentatively. “I don’t think you’re angry, doll. I think you’re confused.”

“About what?” You cocked an eyebrow at him and pouted your lips. “What could I possibly be confused about?”

“I think…” He leaned forward and brought his lips to your ear, just close enough to feel the warmth of his breath and nothing else. “That you might just like me.”

“What the fuck would make you think that?” You squirmed in your seat instinctively.

“Two nights ago…” He spoke slowly, drawing out each word with precision. “I took a nice midnight stroll around the halls…” You were sure he could hear the rapid pace of your heart in your chest. “And I came to your room.” You gulped, you knew damn well what he was leading up to. “Behind your door, I could hear the almost inaudible sounds of you moaning, whimpering, and begging, something I never thought I’d hear from you.” His lips brushed your ear. “At first, I thought you had a guy over and I started to walk away. I got about two steps passed your door when I heard my name sneak out of those beautiful lips of yours.” You bit your lip and closed your eyes. “You were moaning, whimpering, begging, and chanting my name while you were touching yourself.” He pulled away and stood up straight. “That’s why I think you might just like me.”

You were at a loss for words. Your eyes dropped to the ground and you remained silent. You thought over possible snarky responses, but your mind was blank. He was right, you liked him.

“And what if I did just happen to like you?” You refused to look up from the floor.

“I’d have to punish you for treating me so poorly because you couldn’t admit your feelings.” His words came out cold and you raised your eyes. The smirk was still there. “It’d only be fair, you know, given a number of times you brushed me off and treated me like shit.”

“And what kind of punishment would it be?” You couldn’t stop your words. “If I were to admit, you know, that I might just like you?”

Bucky watched you carefully, his blue eyes piercing your own. He stepped quietly behind you, hands resting in his pockets. He dropped his head and whispered in your ear, “May I touch you?” You nodded.

His hands rested firmly on your shoulders before he began massaging them. You sighed deeply at the contact and dropped your head back, hitting his stomach. Your eyes closed, not wanting to know if he could see the pleasure growing on your face just from a massage. A deep chuckle vibrated his body and his hands lowered to your clavicles.

“Well, a naughty girl gets a naughty punishment.” His hands dipped lower, hovering over your breasts. “Maybe I’d trap you before a mission, when I know you’ll be stuck with the team.” His fingers brushed your hardened nipples through the fabric of your shirt. “Pin you up against the wall…” He lifted the front of your shirt behind your head, exposing your breasts. “Slip my hand down those tight pants of yours…” His thumbs circled your nipples. “Tease that needing cunt of yours with a few flicks and circles to your clit…”

“Bucky…” You bit your lip to silence yourself.

“What? You like it when I talk about punishing you?” He lowered himself down and buried his face in your neck, drawing hickeys to the surface of your skin. “When I talk about getting you all wet and needy with my fingers?” His hands slithered down to your shorts and unbuttoned them. “Would you like that? Not being able to touch yourself for weeks on end?” His flesh hand traced the waistband of your panties. “Or would you touch yourself? Sneak off and curl two of your delicate fingers inside of yourself? Would you do that with the team members there? Where you could easily get caught fucking yourself?” His hand slipped underneath your panties and grazed your clit. “Could you be quiet enough? Your moaning, the sounds of your fingers working your aching cunt, the scream you want to let loose when you cum…”

“F-Fuck…” Your eyes opened and you saw Bucky looked at you; he was waiting.

“Do you want me to touch you?” He spoke quietly. “To dip my fingers inside of you and abuse that throbbing g-spot of yours until you’re begging me to cum?”

“Yes.” You breathed out the word and licked your lips. “Please.” You sounded desperate and you hated it, but, fuck, you wanted him, you wanted him to touch you, to feel just how wet you were, to fuck you. You craved him.

“Then I guess you’re going to have to wait until after you get back from your next mission.” Bucky removed his hand and backed away, flipping the switch to your chair before leaving.

You sat in a complete mess in the chair; your panties soaked, breasts exposed, hickey’s blatantly visible on your neck. You lowered your shirt and buttoned your shorts, disbelief taking over. No, that couldn’t have just happened. I just imagined the entire thing. I’m just laying in bed asleep right now and I’m going to wake up any second. Yeah, this is just a wet dream. I don’t even have any missions coming up, this has to be a dream. Come on, (Y/N), wake up.

Sam popped his head in and eyed you carefully. “You ready?”

“For what?” You collected yourself and stood from your chair, praying he couldn’t see how much of a mess you were.

“Barnes cancelled and said you’d take his spot on today’s mission. We’ll only be gone for a few days, a week at the latest.”

“What?” You furrowed your brows.

“C’mon, we’re running late as it is.” Sam waved you on.

You stepped out of the room and followed Sam down the hallway. You passed Bucky and Steve standing together. Bucky pulled out his phone and caught your eye; he winked before turning his attention back to his friend. Your phone vibrated.

“I may not have pinned you up against the wall, but leaving you begging works just as well.”

we are the reckless, we are the wild youth

[From my own prompt here @ omgcppromptsplease]

Jack tried to remind himself that couldn’t make it to playoffs if he murdered half his line.

He’d been asleep when the call came. “Brah,” Shitty had slurred, too loud and staticky in Jack’s ear. “Jack, we need you to bring us clothes.”

“Why?” Jack had asked. If this was another case of Shitty stripping down and forgetting where he’d put his pants, then Jack was hanging up and letting him deal with it alone. “Who’s we?”

“The boys,” Shitty said, as if that meant something. “You know, like me and Rans and Holtzy and Bits.”

It was the mention of Bittle that made Jack sit up straight. “Why do you all need clothes?”

“Because we went skinny dipping,” Shitty said, as if that were obvious. “And the Chads stole our clothes while we were in the water.”

Sirens Call

Summary: Being Lydia Martins cousin, but you are different from her you are something else entirely. Being Derek’s ex lover may get in the way of helping the pack.
Requested: Sort of.
Warnings: None.
A/N: So this might suck but I kind of liked the idea I hope you enjoy and feed back is welcomed. Part 2 upon request.

I sighed running my fingers through my hair as the other held the steering wheel in place, returning to Beacon Hills was not what I really wanted but my cousin Lydia needed my help. With me being a few years older than her I had left Beacon Hills right after I graduated, there are many reasons why I left one of them was all the supernatural chaos that was in town. The other being I didn’t know how to control what I was, with me not knowing how to control what was inside me led me to believe that I wasn’t any help being there, so I ran. I pulled into the driveway of the building I was about to meet everyone in, I recognized it as Derek’s loft, I had been there many times before I left. I turned off my car and sat there for a while biting my lip and trying to figure out what I would say to them after being gone for two years, though I knew what was going on with them considering Lydia always kept me up to date.
I finally got the courage to get out of my car and walk into the loft, when I got up to Derek’s place I saw everyone standing around and chatting. There was some not so familiar faces which I figured were the new members of Scott’s pack, I walked in my fingers fiddling with each other. “Hey guys.” I said softly once I was in view of everyone. “Y/N!!” Lydia smiled running to me and giving me a hug. She then started to introduce me to the new faces of the pack, I smiled politely and looked around my heart felt like it stopped when I locked eyes with the person I left all two years ago. His greenish-blue eyes bore into me and made me shift slightly, the intensity almost made me pass out I could tell by the look on his face that he was both confused and slightly hurt at my return. I mouthed a soft hello which he then returned with a curt nod, I looked down my feet suddenly becoming interesting.
“Okay Y/N, I know you are probably wondering why I asked you back but we need your help desperately. I heard from Lydia that you figured out what you are and how to work whatever it is that you have and maybe you could help us, you see there are these dread doctors we defeated them once before but somehow they came back.” Scott spoke, I looked at him chewing on the inside of my cheek. “I don’t know how much help I can be. I’m a Siren, Scott do you know what that means? My song leads people to their death, the only positive part of this is that I can see your past and your future but that’s it.” I said seriously. “If I hurt one of you I don’t know what I would do.” I continued shaking my head. “Let me get this straight you brought a succubus to Beacon Hills? Are you kidding?” I heard Peter say making me growl and turn to face him. “I’m not a succubus Peter they are different, and if I was one you would know it.” I glared at him and folded my arms across my chest. “Y/N but you can lure them here and helps us defeat them.” I heard Lydia say. I sighed in defeat and rolled my eyes. “Fine but after that I’m gone.” Just as I had I said this I locked eyes with Derek again making him scoff and shake his head. “Always running, things get to tough then you run. You haven’t changed a bit.” He spat making everyone’s eyes advert between the two of us. “We are going to leave you two alone. Y/N I have a room set up for you at my place when you are ready.” I heard Lydia speak as she ushered everyone out of Derek’s loft, and I watched as Malia grabbed Peter’s arm and pull him out of the loft as well.
I finally looked back up at Derek after hearing the metal door shut, our eyes locked like we were talking only with our eyes. “Listen Derek. I’m sorry okay, what more do you want me to say? I left yes but I needed to figure out who or what I was.” I said softly biting my lip. “You left me when I needed you, you were my anchor Y/N and when you left every part of me did as well.” He said closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose, this action made me scuff. “You are not one to be sentimental what is making this any different Der, you never once showed me that I was your anchor.” I growled walking towards him with my finger pointed out. “I loved you and you know that, I left because of what was going on. You shut me out when things started to get worse with all of the supernatural shit an-.” I was  cut off mid-sentence by the warm pair of lips I have craved since I left, it didn’t take me long to melt into the kiss my hands gripping his shirt. When his hands found my hips is when I snapped out of it and pushed him way, it took all I had not to push him against the wall and kiss him again. But I couldn’t do that, I couldn’t let myself be pulled back in again. “I know what you are doing Derek, it’s not happening screw you. You can’t change my mind.” I said starting to walk away. “I will find a way even if it kills me.” I heard him whisper as I walked out of his loft and into my car.

“Could you excuse us for a second?” You asked at the guy who you were chatting with. He nodded understandingly. Grabbing Peters hand, you led him over to a private corner so you could talk.

You could tell something was wrong. His face was red and he kept fiddling with his fingers. Not to mention he had gone deathly silent.

“Hey babe, how you doing?” You asked, giving him a soft and a Warming smile. You placed your hand on his arm, knowing it always comforted him.

“I’m fine,” Peter sighed, running a hand through his hair. He was obviously bothered. “it’s just… The way he looks at you. The same way I look at you. A-and.. I don’t like it. I want to be the only one who makes you smile and laugh, not him.”

“You know you’re the only one for me,” You press your lips to his in a soft yet quick kiss, rubbing small circles on his chin to comfort him. “Always.”

“Thank you,” He muttered. “I love you so much.”

Okay the idea I had for a fic (I couldn’t possibly write) is that Lena finds out about Lex having a 18 mo child and she becomes the baby’s legal guardian (she adopts them later ofc), and her and Kara aren’t together yet but they’ve become more close than what we’ve seen in canon so far. Kara helps out a lot with this new change in Lena’s life having found out not only her brother has a child she is now responsible for, she now has this chance of having somewhat a second chance? 1/2

And Kara is there by her place a lot, they get together you know the drill. Basically a bit of angst regarding Lena’s feelings about the entire situation and *lots* of Supercorp domesticity and them acquiring an adorable child and getting together in the process. If this isn’t your cup of tea would you let me know? 2/2

She was led into an office and left alone with a cup of lukewarm coffee for nearly fifteen minutes before the door opened to reveal Maggie Sawyer.

Lena couldn’t exactly help her eye-roll.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, detective, but I was under the impression your job involved investigating aliens in National City, not just Luthors.”

“Brr,” Maggie said, grinning as she sat down in the seat next to Lena. “You know, I’ve heard of the world famous icy Luthor charm, but damn if those descriptions don’t do you justice.” She leaned back in her seat, arms crossing over her chest, still grinning—much to Lena’s annoyance.

“What are you doing here?”

“You may find this hard to believe, but I’m here for you.”

“Funny, I do find that hard to believe,” Lena said, leaning back as well. “Can you tell me what’s going on at least?”

To Maggie’s credit, she looked conflicted for a moment, like she was actually debating on telling Lena the truth.

“I can tell you that I really want to be here to see the look on your face,” she finally said, shrugging a little. “And also because I promised my friend who works for social services that I wouldn’t leave her alone with you.”

“Social services? Why would—”

She was interrupted when the door opened again, a small woman with short hair entering the office with a vaguely worried expression on her face. It was obvious she was the friend Maggie had mentioned, if the tiny smile Maggie gave her was any indication. Lena watched her settle into the only empty seat left—across the table from Lena and Maggie—and clasped her hands together, sitting up straight and meeting Lena in the eye.

“Ms. Luthor,” she began, her voice gruffer than Lena expected. “My name is Sarah Wilkins. I work with Child Protective Services. I’m here to speak with you about Ally.”

Lena blinked, not following at all.

“I’m sorry, who?”

“Alexandra Peters, your niece.”

Ivar x deaf!Reader

There is simply not enough Ivar fluff out there to satisfy my thirst

You played with the daisies you had picked up, starting to braid them together carefully as you laid in your lover’s lap. Ivar sighed, shaking his head while smiling and playing with your soft hair. He couldn’t help but stare at you - you looked so beautiful when you were relaxed. “Y/N” he muttered softly, but quickly caught himself as he realized you weren’t looking at him. He often forgot of your condition. You were born deaf, but you soon learned to read lips. From a young age you were excluded from most child games, as you couldn’t orientate yourself as well as the others, and the other kids did not have the patience to talk slowly enough for you to understand. That’s how you found yourself often sitting beside Ivar, the crippled boy who stared longingly at his running brothers. Your friendship seemed to have no choice but blossom, and turn into something more beautiful. You relied on each other, understood and loved each other in a way no one could. He was your ears, always on the lookout and keeping you safe.

You smiled at the memory, clenching the daisies you were holding closer to your chest. You couldn’t help but remember your first kiss. An alarm rang through Kattegat, while you were alone in your house, preparing a meal for your mother. You didn’t hear anything, and naturally you were not aware that your village was under attack. You had jumped when you felt a hand suddenly grab your ankle, shaking it violently enough for you to drop the egg you were holding. Panicked, you turned around quickly, ready to defend yourself when you saw Ivar. His face was red and his eyes were wild – large and filled with panic.

MASTERLIST

Bucky was a new presence in the Stark Tower. He was a quiet soul and kept to himself mostly. After the civil war between the Avengers, he couldn’t help the guilt that bubbled in him every time his eyes met his now teammates.

He wasn’t the only one in the tower that mostly kept to themselves. (Y/N) has been in the team for a good year and the other Avengers still didn’t see much of her aside from during missions.

Quiet people seem to notice each other and the two often noticed each others presence and little quirks every time they were in the same room.

During briefing sessions, Bucky would notice (Y/N) fiddling with the corners of her shirt when the conversation was directed at her.

In turn, (Y/N) notices how Bucky’s eyes avert away from people and stare at the tabletop when anyone in the team seemed to ask him for his opinion.

As time passes, Bucky couldn’t help himself but have his gaze fleet over to (Y/N) anytime he was out in the common area. He noticed how she tries to hide, make herself as scarce as possible, almost trying to let her 3-size too large sweater swallow her as the Avengers team chat up a storm.

Bucky was used to having (Y/N)’s quiet presence around. She tried to make herself invisible but to Bucky, she was all he could see in the rowdy common room during movie night.

Today, though, Bucky couldn’t spot the girl. He was settled at the far end of the couch, his usual seat, where he could have a completely unobstructed view of the room, a habit from his days as a soldier.

As the clock hits 9 PM, Bucky couldn’t help the frown that appeared on his face. He knew that (Y/N) was a creature of habit. She may not be too sociable but she never missed a movie night, not since Bucky joined the team.

“(Y/N) isn’t here.” Bucky gruff voice sounded and the noisy room was suddenly plunged into a pin-drop silence.

Bucky’s voice was rare and surprised the group of heroes. Wanda snapped from her reverie quicker than the rest and cleared her throat.

“(Y/N) said she isn’t joining us tonight. She’s tired and wants to rest early.” the redhead said with slight disappointment.

Bucky grunted in response and his frown deepened as worry pooled at his stomach. The team didn’t miss the look he sported.

“I’m… I’m just going to go. Uhm, goodnight guys.” Bucky said softly, his voice deep with uneasiness.

Trudging his way to the living quarters of the tower, his shoulders were slumped. Steve attempted to stand up and go after his friend but was stopped by Natasha.

“Let him be, Cap. He isn’t going back to his room,” she said with a knowing smile. Only to be met with Steve’s look of confusion.

The soldier paced back and forth (Y/N)’s room, footsteps unusually loud considering his training.

“Would you like for me to inform Ms. (Y/N) of your arrival, Sergeant Barnes?” FRIDAY’s voice filled the silent corridor causing Bucky to jump.

“Uh, well, um, if you would please. yes, thank you?” Bucky replied, still not used to speaking into thin air.

He straightened himself and bit his lip, mind whirring at what to say to the lady when she opened the door.

As his mind went into an overdrive, the door cracked open slightly, (Y/N) face coming into view.

Surprised at having a visitor, (Y/N) was at a lost and remained quiet, her wide eyes staring at the shy man in front of her.

“Uhh, hi, hey. I’m Bucky. Uh, well, no, I mean I am Bucky but you know that.” Bucky blabbered on, the tips of his ear a bright pink.

A small laughter bubbled out of the girl before she could stop herself. At the sound of her chuckle, both of them stopped short.

“Hi, Bucky. Is there anything I can help you with?” her soft voice asked, eyes trained on Bucky, a concerned gleam reflecting in them.

“I’m just, well, I missed… I mean we missed you at movie night.” Bucky said, louder than he intended due to his embarrassment.

From then, the two formed quite a special friendship. Their silence, shyness and need to stay out sight bonded them in ways no one really understood.

It was from then that Bucky slowly understood why the girl was so quiet and reclusive even if she was working with the world’s rowdiest bunch of heroes.

She lived in her head more often than not and that bright mind would have all sorts of thought whirring through. And eventually, the only thought left swirling around her mind were negative ones.

Her confidence crumbled as her thoughts got louder. She started questioning her looks, her abilities, her everything. And eventually she was so overwhelmed, she kept to herself and her thoughts.

Bucky was no stranger to gloomy thoughts. He had them regardless if he was awake or asleep. It was a fact the team knew. He understood how suffocating it could be to have your mind controlling your emotions.

The duo was lounging in the common room, books in hand as they sat together, shoulders bumping.

(Y/N) found solace in having Bucky around. It was almost as if her thoughts were on pause, and it was just Bucky and her.

“Doll?” Bucky called out, nudging her.

Without glancing away from her book, (Y/N) let out a small sound to acknowledge him.

“You’re beautiful you know?” Bucky said with a small contented sigh as he placed his head on her shoulder. Bucky was a man of few words after Hydra, he didn’t know how to make (Y/N) understand how he saw her, other than simply putting them in the most straightforward words.

The girl was caught off guard, her face flushing without control.

From then on, Bucky made it his mission to show (Y/N) just how perfect she was. If she couldn’t see it, Bucky would show her, he thought.

In the early mornings, he’d always compliment her wonderful cooking skills. If she wore her hair up, she was beautiful, if she wore her hair down, she was beautiful.

She could be wearing an oversized sweater and mismatched lounge pants and Bucky thought she was the most amazing girl he’s laid eyes on.

Bucky thought she was the most beautiful make-up free, a small contented smile on her lips, wearing her favorite shirt from Bucky as she talked animatedly about the latest book she read. And he’d tell her that, never missing an opportunity to let her know she’s perfect just the way she is.

With time, (Y/N) started accepting the compliments given to her. It was a good step forward. Until she walked into the meeting room that day.

Stepping into the room, she shifted her eyes to her usual seat next to Bucky and realized it was taken.

She wouldn’t have minded sitting elsewhere if it wasn’t that the girl sitting on the seat was the prettiest SHIELD agent (Y/N) has met.

Seeing Bucky and her talking animatedly, her self-esteem plummeted to nothingness and she bit back a sob, turned around and made her way out. She’ll explain to Steve later on as to why she missed the meeting.

What she needed now was her room, her bed, her own space.

Bucky noticed (Y/N) immediately when she walked into the crowded room. Confusion was etched on his face when she saw her face crumple as she turned and made her way out.

Without excusing himself from the agent speaking to him, ignoring Steve’s questions, he hurried out of the meeting room.

The more he thought, the more unsettled he got. Bucky broke into a run and disregarded taking the elevator.

Running up 3 floors, Bucky reached (Y/N)’s door and immediately heard sobbing from inside. His heart broke at her whimpers and immediately entered the passcode her knew by heart.

He took only 3 steps getting to her bedside, he pulled the girl towards him and hid her in his embrace.

“Doll?” his gruff voice laced with so much concern even (Y/N)’s heart constricted at the sound.

“What’s wrong?” he questioned further at her lack of reply.

Bucky pulled her lightly off his chest, now drenched in her tears. He took one look at her and cupped her face with his wide hands.

“What’s wrong beautiful? Talk to me.” he pleaded, eyes desperate for her to say something, anything.

“I’m sorry.” her voice was tired and soft.

“Why are you sorry sweetheart?” his confusion evident.

“I just, when I saw you with her, I just couldn’t help myself but see all my flaws. And what I don’t have or have too much that she doesn’t. She’s perfect. And I’m me.” (Y/N) whispered out.

“Oh, doll… Are you talking about whoever was sitting on your seat earlier?” Bucky asked.

She nodded lightly, her face now buried in his broad chest, seeking some form of comfort.

“I’m sorry doll. I should’ve stopped her from sitting at your seat but I was looking for you and didn’t notice when she sat down,” he explained.

Before (Y/N) could reply, he pulled the girl by her waist, hoisting her up onto his lap, his arms locking behind her to keep her in place.

“Now doll, everyone has flaws. I do. Steve does. So do Nat and Tony. I have metal for an arm, I’ve had my mind messed with most of my life and I still struggle from nightmares at 102. But our flaws are what makes us, us. And to me, everything about you, including your flaws, are perfect. Because it’s what makes you (Y/N).” Bucky said, his eyes never leaving her.

He moved a hand from her waist to her face, softly wiping away a stray tear.

I love you (Y/N).” he confessed softly.

“I really mean it. You’re beautiful even if you can’t see it. I can’t see myself as anything other than a murderer, but you see past that. You see James Buchanan Barnes, the man with flaws. But you still think I’m wonderful. So here I am, to remind you, that I see you, (Y/N) flaws and all. And I think you’re beautiful.” he whispered to her, as he landed a kiss on her lips.

Title: Liveshow

A/N: I got this idea from this post, from the @imaginedanandphil blog, which is really good! :D Also, written in Dan’s POV!!

Summary: Dan is in the middle of a liveshow when Y/N randomly decides to be loud on the other room and distracts him. Until she ends up joining him, with unexpected results.

For fuck’s sake. Y/N was being so loud in the other room, she was probably playing a game and having a rage fest because of it. Or fangirling about something. One thing or the other. Maybe even both, something to do with feels.

But since I was in the middle of a liveshow and couldn’t exactly do much at that moment, I resolved to just roll my eyes and grin at the camera with a resigned chuckle.

“Y/N is being so noisy” It was kind of distracting to hear her, even if I tried to focus on the people on the chat. “Rude…”

(PART TWO)

—————————————————————————————–

The shock of the exy racquet crashing into Neil’s stomach was secondary to the shock that came from seeing Andrew Spear again.  While his lungs screamed for air, his brain screamed for an escape.  To run.  And never stop running again.

The edges of his vision turned as black as the shirt Andrew wore the first time they’d met those few years ago.  It had been a startlingly warm day, aided by the fact that Nathaniel and his mother had just migrated south again from Montreal.  California was everything and nothing that Nathaniel, no, Chris, had expected.  It was hot, and there was the smell of salt in the air from the Pacific Ocean – that Chris had known would be there.  He hadn’t counted on people being so open.  Maybe that’s why he was so drawn to Andrew, a spot of darkness against the ever sunny sky.  Andrew had never been an easy read.

The first time Andrew spoke to him, it was because he had gotten into a fight with a teacher.  Neil had left the classroom at the end of the day with his head down, hugging his books close to his body.  He didn’t know how long he’d stay here, but the fact that his mother had let him attend school was a good sign that they’d be in California for a while.  Still it wasn’t a good idea to make friends or have ties here.  Nobody should remember his face.

“You know,” Neil had heard him say as he passed a tree on the edge of the school’s property, “For someone who’s trying to keep a low profile you sure do love to get in a fight.”

He turned and came face to face with the blonde.  Andrew hadn’t mastered the look of complete apathy yet and his eyes revealed the tiny spark of interest Neil had put there.

“For someone who’s barely four feet tall you sure do love antagonizing people,” Neil responded.
