and the way her front teeth peek out

Mornings like this

For the @oqpromptparty Day 6 #144 Robin discovers bacon. (bonus points for sexy kitchen shenanigans). Unbetaed, all mistakes are mine

The first morning she cooks it for him, it’s the smell which entices him to drag himself away from the soft, comfy piece of paradise Regina calls a bed. They tumbled into it, satisfyingly exhausted, at some point during the night, and he sincerely thinks he could be convinced to stay there forever, if only Regina would come back.

Her absence finishes to persuade him that, as enjoyable as lying down in satiny sheets is, her scent all around him, he would rather have her in his arms. The unmistakable aroma of meat cooking is an unexpected but welcomed bonus. They have worked quite an appetite.

He finds his pants folded neatly on the back of a chair, and he has to smile at Regina’s tidiness. Making his way downstairs, his stomach growls loudly and he skips down the last couple of steps.

She is standing in front of the stove, tousled hair and barefoot, and it’s a vision he could get used to seeing day after day.

“I wondered where my shirt had gone off to,” he whispers in her ear, encircling her in his arms and pressing a kiss over a bare shoulder, using the gaping shirt to his advantage.

“Hmm, good morning,” she replies, leaning back against him. “I didn’t think you would mind, but I can give it back if you want,” her voice is delightfully raspy, and he holds her tighter as he thinks about her suggestion.

“You know that’s quite the dilemma, on the one hand this looks so much better on you, on the other,” he trails off, his hands making their way up her thighs, beneath the hem of the shirt to her hips. “I like you without any clothes on,” he concludes, his nose pressed in her hair, a hand cupping a breast, the other pressed against her stomach.

“Not that I don’t appreciate this,” she moans, “but if you keep going, breakfast is going to be on the charred side of crispy.”

“We wouldn’t want that, would we?” He murmurs, feasting over her neck with lips, tongue and teeth. “What are you making?”

“Eggs and bacon, if there is something in this world you need to try, that is it,” she tells him, breaths quickening under his ministrations. She turns the stove off before she ruins breakfast, piling it in two plates.

“It looks delicious,” Robin says, “and I’m not talking just about the food,” he adds, making her shiver.

“Still, you should try it first, I wouldn’t want you to drop from exhaustion and malnourishment, I may need you later,” she teases him, and he mocks gape at her.

“So that’s how it’s going to be? You’re only using me as your sex slave? Hmm, I can live with that.”

“Good,” she smirks.

He grabs a piece of bacon, studying it, and then holding it in front of her mouth. “You should try it first.”

“Do you think it’s poisoned?” She asks playfully, before biting a piece of it with purpose, enjoying the way it crunches under her teeth, her eyes locked on Robin’s. She chews slowly, licking her lips when she is done.

Robin kisses her, his tongue peeking out to her lips, and then to explore the inside of her mouth.

“You’re right,” he pants as they separate. “This is one of the best things I have tasted in this land so far.”

Deal with the Devil Pt.2: Living with the Devil

Here is part two of “Deal with the Devil”. I meant to post this much sooner, but life got in the way and my computer has been having technical issues. I hope you enjoy. I really liked writing a sequel to my first short story.

If you haven;t read part one, you can find it here:

Author’s Note: Oh yeah, I should probably mention that this goes back and forth between Jade and Dark’s point of views. Warning: Mild language? Anyways… enjoy!! :) Darkiplier X Reader

Jade’s POV:

When I finally awoke, the incessant ringing had finally stopped. I was alone in a room with no windows, no furniture, nothing. Everything had a dim, gray filter to it. I picked myself off of the floor and made my way to the door. I took a deep breath before trying to turn the doorknob.

Go figures, it’s locked.

The ringing in my ears picked up again and I felt a knot forming in my stomach.

He’s coming.

I stepped away from the door and narrowly avoided getting hit by it as Dark swung the door open violently.

“Hello Jade. Did you have a nice nap?” He asked smugly.

When I didn’t answer him, he continued. “You do not have to be afraid, I will not hurt you. So long as you do everything I command,” he stated.

Just the sight of him made my blood boil. “And if I don’t?” I retorted.

Dark’s brows furrowed. “I assure you, my dear, you do not want to find out.” He warned. “Do as I say, and you will have a nice life here.”

“Nice?” I gawked. “Are you mental? Why don’t you just kill me now and end my torment?”

Dark’s jaw clenched and he cracked his neck. His appearance glitched as he cracked the other side.

“You were the one who chose this life, Jade,” he said through gritted teeth. “We made a deal. I own you. You are my property.”

           “I am no one’s property,” I hissed.

“Then why did you agree to take her place? Hmm?” Dark asked. “Why didn’t you just stay with Mark?”

My hard exterior crumbled at the mention of his name. Tears swelled up in my eyes, but I fought to keep them there. I didn’t want to give Dark the satisfaction of seeing me cry.

My lip quivered. “I did this, for him,” My voice faltered. “So he could be happy.”

“Yes, he will be much happier without you messing everything up,” Dark said.

           I glared at him.

“Do you love him, Jade?” Dark asked suddenly.

I had to look away as Dark smiled cockily. “I don’t have to answer you.”

“That wasn’t a ‘no’,” he replied coolly. “You don’t need to answer, I already know how you feel about him. Just like I know how he feels about you.”

I looked at him in surprise.

“Do you forget that he and I once shared a body?” He asked. “I was there for all of those moments, whether he wanted me there or not. Say, do you know why he never wanted to let me out to play? He knew that if I was free, he would lose all chances with you.”

“Excuse me?” I spat. “You don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell with me!”

Dark gently grabbed my chin and locked eyes with me.

“Give it time, Jade,” he cooed. “In a few months you won’t even remember his name.”

I pulled away from him in disgust. “Don’t touch me.”

Dark’s hold strengthened. My face ached in his grasp. I whimpered and he let go.

“I don’t want to hurt you,” he said softly. “I just want you to see that I am the better candidate here, dear.”

“Dark, I will never feel that way about you. Ever!” I snarled.

He smirked. “Mark my words, Jade, you will love me.”

Dark turned back to the door. “Maybe some time alone with your thoughts will change your mood. I’ll come check on you in a few hours,” he said over his shoulder.

The door shut behind him and I heard the deadbolt lock. I slammed my fists into the wall in frustration. I was trapped for all eternity with my worst nightmare all because I just had to be the hero.

“I wish he had never met Amy,” I huffed.

I leaned up against the wall and rubbed my temples.

No, I shouldn’t think like this. Mark was finally free of Dark. He was finally free to live out his life with Amy. Now he can finally be happy. Without me…

I sat on the floor and pulled my knees close to my chest. The thought of never seeing Mark again physically hurt. I hung my head and cried.

“Oh Mark,” I sobbed. “I miss you so much. I hope you and Sean are okay.”

Dark’s POV:

I locked the door behind me and marched off. I shook my head, trying to get the sight of Jade in tears out of my mind.

“Oh, I know! Let’s see how miserable Mark is, that should cheer me up,” I smiled, snapping my fingers and disappearing.

I reappeared in Mark and Jade’s house. Well technically, it was now Mark and Amy’s house. I looked around and tried to hear anyone. I walked down the hallway to Mark’s bedroom. The door was slightly ajar and I crept inside, but no one was there.

“Odd,” I huffed. “Where is he?”

I left Mark’s room and walked back down the hall to the kitchen.

           Where the hell is he?

I made my way to the dining room, and then to the living room. I peeked out the front window, checking to see if his car was here, and it was.

“I know he is here,” I hissed. “I can sense him.”

Something growled behind me and I quickly turned around. Mark’s mutt, Chica, was standing there, teeth barred.

“Hey Chica,” I said, mocking Mark’s voice. “Hey girl, don’t be afraid, it’s just me.”

I reached my hand out to pet her and she lunged at me. With just the flick of my wrist, Chica was sent flying into the wall. She yelped and slumped to the floor.

“Ugh, filthy mutt,” I muttered. “You know, I never did like you.”

She tried to get up but slipped. I took a step towards her, ready to end her right then and there, but was distracted by a new sound. It was Mark, and it sounded like he was crying. I kicked Chica hard in the ribs and sped off in the direction of Mark’s cries. I crept down the hall, Mark’s sobs getting louder.

Ugh, of course, he’s in Jade’s room.

Mark was sitting on her bed, facing the widow. He held something in his hand. Standing in the doorway, I smiled. Seeing Mark hurt like this filled me with pleasure. I took a step towards the bed and instantly froze when something crunched beneath my foot. I looked down and saw a broken picture frame under my foot.

Is that a photo of Amy and Jade?

Startled, Mark quickly jumped up and locked eyes with me. He dropped what looked like a teddy bear and clenched his fists.

“What are you doing here?” He snarled.

“Hello Mark, did you miss me?” I asked smugly.

“Come to take something else from me?” He asked angrily.

“Actually, no,” I replied. “I came to see how you were getting by without her.”

Mark wiped away his tears and glared at me. “Well, good,” he replied. “You can tell her how much of a mess I am without her.”

“Oh no,” I chuckled. “I won’t be telling Jade about this little visit. If anything, I will tell her how much happier you are without her around.”

“You’re a monster!” Mark yelled. “Why do you enjoy seeing others hurt?”

“Uh, because I am a demon,” I said matter-of-factly. “Also, this is just pay back, my dear Mark.”

“Pay back? For what?” He exclaimed. “What have I ever done to you?”

“Besides attempting to lock me away for good?” I spat.

Mark kept his guard up, but looked confused.

“Well, if you really can’t remember, let me remind you.” My tone darkened. “I was there the night you had planned on confessing your feelings for Jade. I kept urging you to just come out and say it already, but you pussied out, just like you always do. If you would have just listened to me in the first place, you wouldn’t be in this mess.”

“But, I must thank you for your cowardliness,” I said, lightening my tone. “Because you chickened out, I now no longer have to share her with you.”

“What are you saying?” Mark questioned. “Do you… Are you trying to… Oh my god, you have feelings for Jade, don’t you?”

“But how?” He exclaimed. “You’re a demon!”

“And demons can’t have feelings?” I interjected. “Yes, if you must know, I have feelings for Jade. And in due time, she will feel the same way about me.”

           Mark stood there in shock.

“No, no way,” Mark argued shaking his head. “I will not let you manipulate her. Bring her back to me, now!”

“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” I smirked. “We made a deal, and a deal is a deal. It was good seeing you, Mark. Until next time.”

I waved my hand ridiculously, attempting to mock the way Mark would sign off of his videos, and in my best voice said, “Buh byyyyye!”

Mark started to run at me and I snapped my fingers, disappearing before he could touch me. I reappeared back in the void.

I guess I should go check on Jade, I have been gone quite a while. I headed to her enclosure. Before I unlocked the door, I waved my hand in front of the wall next to the door. A section of the wall became transparent, but only to me. I saw Jade curled up in the corner. I could tell by the way she was moving, she was still crying. I scowled at the sight. I was never going to win her affection this way, and that’s when it hit me. I smiled and set off to carry out my plan.

Jade’s POV:

I cried until I could not cry anymore. My eyes were tender and my throat burned. I leaned my head back against the wall and closed my eyes. It burned like hell, but it felt good to relax my eyelids. I had finally come to terms with everything. I knew that my actions and attitude would affect how miserable my new life would be, so even though I wasn’t happy with who I was forced to spend my life with, I was going to attempt to make the best of it. I sighed heavily and looked towards the door.

“I’m sorry, Dark. I am ready to play nicely,” I whispered, my voice was hoarse from crying.

A few moments later I heard a click. The door slowly opened and Dark emerged.

“What did you just say?” He asked, clearly in shock.

How the hell did he hear that, I wondered.

I gulped and repeated myself, trying to be a little louder. “I said, I am sorry,” I hesitated, watching his movements intensely. “I am sorry and I am ready to be nice.”

Dark stood there, not moving or saying anything.

“Can I please have a glass of water?” I asked, grasping my throat.

Without hesitation a glass of water appeared in his hand. He helped me to my feet and handed me the glass. I slowly sipped the water, enjoying every moment. When I was finished drinking, the glass disappeared. I titled my head, studying him. Something seemed off.

“I have a surprise for you,” he said softly. “But you have to trust me.”

He extended his hand out for me to grab. I hesitated, afraid of what his idea of what a ‘surprise’ might be.

“Come on Jade, you can trust me,” He breathed.

There was something about his voice that seemed to soothe my rising anxiety. I took a deep breath and grabbed his hand. He quickly pulled me closer to him and he covered my eyes.

“Shh…” He cooed, “You will find out in just a moment.”

I heard him snap his fingers and my stomached knotted again. When he finally removed his hand, my eyes were still clenched shut.

“Go on, open your eyes,” Dark said, with a hint of excitement.

I expected the worst, but when I opened my eyes, I was pleasantly surprised. We were back in my old room, or at least I thought I was until I realized there were no windows.  My smile turned into a scowl. I turned and looked at him, unsure of what to say.

“I know it’s not what you were expecting,” he said, sounding nervous. “But I figured, if you are to remain here with me, you should have some sort of comfort zone. Go on, take a look around. Please, let me know if there is something I have missed.”

I looked at him, bewildered. He smiled, a genuine smile. Something seemed off about him, but I did as I was told. I cautiously made my way around the room. Besides no windows, it looked identical to my old room. The grey filter was gone and the room was full of color. On my nightstand sat a picture frame. I grabbed it and held it close to my chest. The photo was of Mark, Sean and I after our first Comic Con panel. We looked so young and happy. The photo brought tears to my eyes. I glanced to the desk and saw more picture frames, I gently placed the frame back down and went to go look at the other photos. I ran my hand along the frames, smiling at the photos they contained. They were the same ones that were in my actual room. I looked at Dark, and half-heartedly smiled.

“Thank you,” I said quietly. “Thank you for allowing me to have these.”

“But of course,” he replied. “I want you to feel at home here. I meant what I said earlier, Jade. I want you to have a nice life here. With me.”

I picked up the frame that contained a photo of Mark and I from our high school graduation. I closed my eyes, letting the tears fall. I carefully set the frame back down.        “There is only one thing missing,” I said.

“There is?” He asked. “Tell me and I will get it.”

“Where is the photo of Amy and I?”

Dark’s smiled vanished. His brows furrowed and he sighed.

“I had hoped you wouldn’t notice that one was missing,” he said. “When I went to retrieve your items, it was broken and on the floor.”

“Wait, you went to Mark’s to get this stuff?” I questioned.

“Yes,” he replied. “But not all of this are the originals.”

I titled my head and raised an eyebrow. “I’m confused.

Dark sighed. “I might be a demon, but I am not always a bad guy. Yes, from time to time I do enjoy seeing people, especially Mark, hurt but not all of the time.”

He hesitated before continuing. “I really didn’t want to tell you this, but I owe this to you. Mark was an absolute wreck.”

           My lip started to quiver.

“So, I made a copy of everything, so that Mark would still have your belongings to cope. Except, for this,” he said pulling something from behind his back. “Mark has a copy of this particular possession.”

He handed me a teddy bear. My teddy bear that I had had since I was a baby. I reached out and held it close to me. I tried to speak, but when I opened my mouth, nothing came out.

“I know how much this bear means to you,” he said “So, I thought it was only proper that you had the original”

“Thank you,” I mouthed. “Really, I appreciate it.”

I hesitated and then wrapped my arms around him. He went rigid and then awkwardly hugged me back. I laid my head on his shoulder and smiled. He tilted his head so that it was just barely lying on mine. His once cold skin now seemed much warmer.

“I’m not always a bad guy,” he whispered. “I hope in time you can see that.”

I didn’t reply, but I held him tighter and closed my eyes. Something had changed in him, I only hoped this wasn’t some sort of trick.

Time ticked by as we stood there in each other’s embrace. Part of me was screaming that this was wrong and that I needed to get the hell away from him, but from somewhere within was a faint voice pushing me closer to him.

Maybe Dark isn’t so bad after all.

What? But of course he is! I could hear Mark screaming. He is manipulating you, can’t you see that? Jade, he is a demon!

I pulled away quickly and turned away from him.

“Jade, are you alright?” He asked, his words were like velvet.

I shook my head no. “I just need to lie down.”

Dark’s smiled faded and was replaced by sorrow. “As you wish,” he said solemnly. “I will come check on you in a little bit.”

He slowly walked to the door. He glanced back at me, searching my face. When he didn’t see what he was hoping for, he left.

Clutching the teddy bear, I laid down on the bed. I rolled onto my side and curled up. A thousand thoughts were racing through my mind right now.

What the hell was that? Was that genuine or was he just manipulating me? Why did I like when he held me? Why was I sad that he was now gone? Jade, he is a demon, I told myself. He is a horrible person who has done horrible things! But, he went and brought me something that he knew meant so much to me. He did all of this, for me.

Just thinking of being in his embrace again made my heart flutter, the thought of his voice made my heart race, and his smile –

Oh god, his smile.

“Oh shit,” I muttered. “Am I really falling for Dark?”

Dark’s POV:

After I left her room, I couldn’t shake this feeling. My hands were clammy and I felt light headed. I was actually smiling, like an idiot, I might add. I was so absorbed in my own thoughts that I hadn’t even notice Anti had appeared.

Anti leaned against the wall, staring at me in bewilderment.

“What the hell are you doing?” He finally asked.

I jumped. “What are you doing here?” I asked.

“I see you redecorated,” he replied, ignoring my question. “Are you actually smiling?”

           “Shut up.”

“So, are you going to tell me why this suddenly looks exactly like Mark’s house?” Anti poked. “I heard you let Amy go free. What happened to ‘a deal’s a deal’?”

“Jade took her place,” I smiled.

“Ooh. So, when do we get to torment her?” Anti asked excitedly. “Jade was always fun to mess with. Such a spit fire.”

“We aren’t,” I said sternly. “No harm is to come to her.”

           Anti groaned. “Ugh, why not?”

           “Because,” I replied.

           “Because why?” He whined.

I looked at him and hesitated.

Sensing my hesitation, he smiled wryly. “Dark, is there something you need to tell me?”

           “No,” I quickly replied.

“Then why are you starting to glitch?” He prodded.

“I do not glitch!” I argued, trying to keep my voice down. “That’s your job, Glitch Bitch.”

Anti’s smiled faded and he quickly turned on his heels. He was headed towards Jade’s room. I sprinted after him and blocked his path.

“What’s wrong, Dark?” He asked, egging me on. “Why can’t I go in and say hello?”

“Leave her alone,” I said through barred teeth.

He tried to step past me and I forcefully shoved him back.

           “Don’t,” I warned.

“Awe, does Dark have feelings for the little human?” He giggled.

I grabbed Anti by the scruff of his neck and dragged him away from Jade’s doorway. Once we were out of earshot, I slammed him against the wall.

“Don’t you dare touch her!” I snarled. “This is my chance to win her over and if you ruin this for me, I swear I will end your pathetic existence.”

Anti grinned. “Okay Dark, I’ll leave her alone, but only if you admit it.”

           “Admit what?” I asked.

“That you, self-proclaimed ‘king’ of this world, is in love with a human,” Anti smiled.

“I could end you, right now,” I said, tightening my grip on him. “But fine, so long as you leave her alone.”

“I want to hear you say it, Dark,” Anti grinned. “Go on, say it.”

I sighed, knowing he wasn’t going to stop until he got his way.

“I am in love with Jade,” I stated proudly. “And I have loved her ever since I met her.”

Summary: Making a hospital bed shouldn’t be so enticing. But the way Emma Swan does it, what’s a guy to do?

Rating: M

Words: 1522

Logging patient records was the worst.

It was the most monotonous part of Killian’s job for certain but it did offer the best view in the whole hospital - Swan - and more importantly, Swan bent over. From the safe haven of his computer screen behind the nurse’s station Killian had a front row seat to Emma changing the sheets in an empty room. She owned up to her namesake by putting on a show that was full of grace and beauty. The afternoon sun pouring in from the window behind her set her golden locks ablaze, giving her the appearance of an angel. The slow back and forth motion of her hips as she worked the sheets to make sure they were perfectly aligned for the crispest of hospital corners. If he focused really hard, he could just make out the color of lace that covered her breasts right behind her swaying swan necklace that she always wore.

Red. Today’s color was red.

A Jungle Affair

Regina breathes in and out, swats at another bug trying to take its fill of her blood and strips down until her skin is bare to the heavy humidity clinging to the air.

They’ve been stranded in this over-grown jungle realm for months now, away from the quick conveniences of home and the steady routine that she’s grown accustomed to throughout the last three decades. She misses bug repellant and indoor showers, and the comfort that comes from sleeping in her own bed.

But she isn’t home, she thinks while getting water to flow out of the makeshift shower Robin fastened out of columns of bamboo and sheaths of vine, and wishing for things not yet in reach won’t help her get through today or tomorrow. It won’t help her keep that strained smile on her face for Henry, or for Roland. And she needs to smile, needs to give them the hope she can see slowly dimming in their eyes.

They’re all tired, exhausted of fighting battle after battle. They want to go home, and she can practically feel magic crackling at her fingertips at the prospect of just that–home. Away from insects the size of her palm and serpents as thick as her thigh, and a villain named Sherkhan who’s entranced the tigers to do his bidding, mauling the villagers and slaughtering their cattle all so that he can bend the people to his will. He’s a demon in war paint, Sherkhan, and he’s blocked every portal out of this realm. So if they want to go home, they have to defeat him, and defeating villains is becoming somewhat of a thing for her.

And defeating villains in a dirt-filled jungle where she’s constantly kicking up dust or saving some idiot from quicksand it… well it… it makes her dirty at the end of the day. So she’s here, taking a shower, washing away unwanted grime and burdens to bear.

Regina closes her eyes and slowly exhales, running her fingers through her long hair and thinking about what comes next. What’s her next plan of attack?

The floor creaks behind her, and she startles.“Sorry, love. Didn’t mean to frighten you.”

“You didn’t,” she tells him, shaking her head and turning around to face him. He knows why she jumps at sudden noises, knows about her history, and that makes her think of late night conversations and confessions in front of her fireplace, cuddled up on the floor together.

Robin is still in his shirt and jeans, sweaty and covered in grime just like she was a moment ago. “I was just thinking about tomorrow,” she says, taking note of the way his eyes are currently staring at her lips. Her tongue peeks out to lick out to wet her bottom one, though, she’s already wet enough because of the shower. She does it anyway, licks her lower lip and lets her teeth graze over it.

“Hmmm, don’t think about tomorrow just yet,” he replies, taking a step closer, stray droplets of water start staining his clothing. “Tomorrow will take care of itself, yeah?”

“And what exactly should I think about instead?” She teases, tugging a little at the collar of his shirt.

“Oh, I suppose I could help you think of something,” he says, sliding his hands over her skin.

And oh how he does.

The Smoak and Queen Wedding

“I told you we should have eloped. We could be off on our honeymoon right now, but no. You said we needed a proper wedding with our friends and family,” Felicity hisses, crouched low with her back against the altar. “All 150 of them.”

Oliver glares at her before he stands up, aims his arrow at one of the henchmen shooting at them, and lets it fly. Then he quickly takes cover again behind the altar and tugs at his bowtie to loosen its hold.

They hear a grunt and a thud as the man falls to the floor. Bullets whiz past them, one of them hitting the unity candle. More grunts and shrieks erupt as the guests, who decided to stay behind, work to move the henchmen back towards the entrance of the ballroom.

“Well, I wasn’t exactly expecting the Joker to make an appearance. He usually leaves Starling City well enough alone,” Oliver says before shielding his bride-to-be with his upper body as another bullet nicks the corner of the altar.

“That’s what happens when you invite Batman and the entire Justice League to our wedding,” Felicity mutters as she starts hiking up her dress. Oliver gets up on his knees and aims yet again just above the white tablecloth.
