and the three siblings

Facebook user, Shannon Satonori Lytle, shared his success story on his page yesterday. It’s very inspiring tale on how determination can get you where you need to be to become who you want to be. This is his story in his own words:

“In high school, I flipped burgers at McDonald’s so I could afford the privilege of taking the SAT. I fed and cared for my three baby siblings until they went to sleep and stayed up until 4am to do my homework. I walked home through a dangerous part of the city after extracurriculars because I couldn’t afford a car. I stuck my laptop out of my window at night to steal my neighbour’s wifi and finish my schoolwork.

I was scoffed at and told, “from this part of Ohio, only the children of doctors and lawyers get to go to Ivy League Schools.” In college, I panicked when my laptop broke because I had worked 150 minimum wage hours to buy it. I scrubbed toilets, shelved books, and sold clothing so I could chase my dreams and travel the world. Throughout my life, I have manoeuvred and begged for every kind of subsidy and coupon. I’m the son of a warehouse worker and an immigrant; a first generation student.

Today, I graduated from Harvard.”

Hey guys! I thought I'd do an about me!

So I thought I’d do this to let you guys get to know me since there are over 400 of you guys!!! So much love to you guys!

My name is Lee. I’m 18 and even though I was born in Pennsylvania I spent so much time down south that I have a pretty noticeable twang to my voice.

My favorite song is a tie between Lake Shore Drive and Mr. Blue Sky. My favorite movie is No Country for Old Men. My favorite comic is the Star Lord comic series. My favorite Guardian is Jack Flag and my favorite GOTG movie Guardian is Rocket Raccoon. My favorite show is the walking dead! And Michael Rooker is my favorite actor! My favorite animal is the raccoon actually!

I have a dog and a beta fish. My dogs name is Baxter and my fish is named Yondu. I’m the youngest of three siblings and I have two fantastic nephews and two fur nephews and a fur niece.

I love writing! I’m an anthropology student at college! I was in theater for four years in high school. I love WWE and I’m a black belt in Tang Soo Do and I’m a boxer.

Having a sibling or three really like….gave you interpersonal skills and moral exercises from an early age that people who were only children had to learn later on, because nothing makes your brain work overtime than having a ride or die relationship with someone who you would suplex through the dining room table in a second if they touched your shit, but you’d also stand up and take the blame for some shit if you knew it wasn’t their fault or stepping in and swinging if they were being bullied by someone else

I like to think Matt has the same photo in his pocket and whenever he’s in a state where he feels like he can’t take it anymore, he looks at the picture and remembers to keep fighting because his sister is waiting for him and he wants to see her just as much as Pidge wants to see him.

So I have this head cannon based on my own family that the bat kids have a habit of saying “my brother”/”my sister” like everyone knows who they’re talking about. People who know about the whole batclan can usually guess which bro/sis based on the context, but everyone else just assumes there’s only one brother and one sister.

Imagine Tim starting YJ and being super secretive about his identity, so no one knows he’s Tim Drake with 7.5 billion Wayne siblings. Which leads to the hilarious assumption that Tim just has one brother, and who does. So. Much

Grew up in a circus, and by circus he means the streets, and by streets he means a palace in Dubai. Born in Gotham but also in the middle east but he’s Cuban and black? Can’t drive a car, but can drive a motorcycle? Is married, but also ‘partners’ with some guy named roy and is also like twelve? Died?? But apparently he got better??

And his sister is a mute computer genius who’s both super dramatic, and pretty stoic, faked her own death once?? and is an Asian ginger, and might be the child of Catwoman and Batman??

People would think he’s making it up, except he says these things so casually and with such a straight face that there’s no way it’s a joke.

Until one day some brave soul is like “Hey Robin, how many siblings do you have again?”

“Well, legally I have three brothers and two sisters. But Duke’s adoption papers are pending, and Babs might as well be my sister. Stephanie pretty much lives with us too, so I suppose that brings the total up to four brothers and four sisters.”

Which solves one problem, but still doesn’t answer the whole dying? and getting better???

Okay so I’ve seen a lot of fanart and fics where aged up Lance has scars on his skin, and man do I dig that aesthetic, but what if it’s the opposite? What if healing pods not only repair injuries to the point where there’s no scarring, but they also repair old damage? Like, say, regenerating tissues and cells to the point where the whole body is like brand new.

The scar that Lance’s sister gave him when he was four? Gone. The old burn he had when he was twelve and touched the stove? Like it was never there in the first place. And siblings fight, and Lance has a lot of siblings, so he’s bound to have many “battle” scars, but they’re wiped away, one by one  — like they were never there, like his past with his family never happened.

So maybe at some point, when he only has so many scars left, Lance starts fearing taking an injury, not because of pain and blood, but because that means another trip to a healing pod. Another mark of his past, proof that he really is a boy from Cuba, washed away like ocean foam. Maybe at some point, even if the injury is severe enough to warrant a visit to the pods, but not quite severe enough that it’d keep Lance from piloting Blue, he denies Coran when he suggests he visit the infirmary. Maybe he wants to heal naturally, welcoming new scars to join the old ones.

Maybe he learns to accept it, maybe he doesn’t. Maybe the birthmark on his hip is one day wiped away, replaced by unblemished tanned skin, and maybe Lance stays up till two crying because there’s so little left of who he used to be. What’s left of him that hasn’t been stomped on by parades of war and sullied with blood, tears and duty?

And maybe, when years have passed and the universe is finally well off that they can return home for a few vargas, maybe… Maybe Lance still looks the same.

Maybe all his visits to the healing pods; being exposed to their magic and quintessence has regenerated him to the point where he still looks exactly the same as he did when they snuck out of the Garrison that one oh so fateful night. Maybe it’s been two years, maybe it’s been ten, but the Paladins all look the same, to the dot, like they’re untouched by time. But Lance’s family doesn’t. His little sister, who used to only reach Lance’s hip, all pigtails and freckles, maybe she’s now tall enough to reach his chest and better at math than Lance will ever be. Maybe she has new scars Lance has never seen or kissed away.

Maybe his mom has worry lines and grey hairs Lance knows she didn’t have when he last saw her, and maybe she talks less than he remembers. Maybe she has to pinch herself when she first sees her son after however many years, because he hasn’t changed a bit. Maybe she breaks into tears at the sight of him, and her hug is just as warm and three times as tight as Lance remembers.

Maybe his siblings give him a new scar to cherish before there’s another planet, another crisis that needs Voltron.

The way kids talk to each other tends to give me a pretty good idea of how the adults in their lives talk to them.

Sometimes this is really sad. Like I’ve seen kids parroting overly-critical and harsh language that they definitely didn’t learn on their own and I want to go over and be like “kiddo, that’s inappropriate no matter how old you are. You shouldn’t be talked to like that.”

Sometimes it’s just bizarre. I’ve heard a few kids who either watch the Simpsons or their parents literally talk like Ned Flanders.

Sometimes it’s really sweet and encouraging, like the little boy who’s friend built a block tower and he squealed, “You did it! Good for you, I’m so proud of you!”

Sometimes though, sometimes it’s hilarious.
One time I was babysitting a seven year old and his three year old twin siblings. I was helping the girl twin dress her doll when I noticed the boy twin making a mess. The older brother looks at him, sighs, and goes:

“Buddy. Buddy just…buddy don’t do that. Look, see? You’re making a mess, you’re just gonna…buddy, that’s not gonna work, it’s….*sigh* well, alright then.”

Siblings

So, I had this thought after reading several stories about humans giving birth and not having eggs.  What if aliens do not have ‘family units’ the same way humans do, but instead raise children in more of a group setting.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Captain H'roll'ah was excited to have hired on not just 1 but 3 humans, all of whom were extremely qualified for space travel.  Even better, they were all from the same clan and so there would be no rivalry or refusal to work together because of old scores to settle.
“Captain! Three humans just came in a have taken over the dining area! WHAT SHOULD WE DO?!?” Ensign Khralhen was out of breath and panicked, but his species was notoriously afraid of humans after it became public knowledge how dangerous they were.  Not that his own was much better, but H'roll'ah knew that these humans should be here and it was probably near a meal time for them.  How could such an evolutionary advanced and apated species not figure out a way to avoid needing 3 or meals a day was beyond H'roll'ah.
“It is fine, Ensign Khralhen.  These are likely the Humans that I just signed on to the crew.  They are from the same clan, so they should work at peak efficiency,” the Captain answered, trying to put as much calm and soothing into his voice as possible, “Let us go introduce ourselves and welcome them so that the ‘pack-bonding’ can begin.”
~~
“Greetings, I am Captain H'roll'ah and this is Ensign Khralhen, our cook.”
“Nice ta meetcha! Cook, huh? Guess we best buddy up to you right quick then!” said the male.  He was average height for a human and perhaps a little on the heavy side, but H'roll'ah knew that it was likely muscle not fat.  After all, this human and one of his female companions were security personnel.
“Always thinking with you stomach, Thomas.  How about you buddy up to the Captain, so that we do not get kicked off this boat? Hmm?” said the smaller female, later identified as Samantha or “Sam” for ease.  "Small" being used only in comparison because she did not have the bulk of her clanmates.  She must be the medical officer.  H'roll'ah was worried that she would be distant from her clanmates but her body language suggested extreme comfort and trust, above what H'roll'ah felt for his own clanmates of different castes.  The third human, Laura if the captain remembered correctly, remained silent but was constantly looking around, as if expecting an attack at any moment, not that strange considering all that H'roll'ah had hear about Earth.
“Well then, please tell me what times that the three of you eat, and I will prepare food for you then.  Also, please tell me any dietary restrictions you have so that you do not have any medical incidents,” Khralhen said, realizing that the humans could be bribed with food as easily as a Con'valix could be bribed with fruits.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

(3 Months Later)

Captain H'roll'ah was surprised at how well the humans worked together.  He thought that they might exceed standard human operating efficiency by 10%, but regularly they were 20-25% better than the reported average.  They barely needed to vocalize to communicate, and they were able to remember each other’s needs and the needs of the crew extremely well.  Captain H'roll'ah decided to ask them how they did it, and if it was a clan trait, where he could hire more humans of clan “Walker.”

“Thomas clan Walker, do you have a few minutes to talk about personal matters?” The captain asked, assuming that Thomas would, since he was off shift and relaxing in the lounge.

“Sure thing, hoss.  What can I do for you?  And I hope this isn’t about my or Laura’s tattoo’s, because we had to settle a bet on that a few days ago,” Thomas answered easily.  He was a bit flippant for the captain’s taste, but his results were impeccable and the other humans followed his lead, which spoke volumes for the man.

“I was hoping that you could explain how you and your clanmates have achieved such a high efficiency rate.  You perform well above average, even for clanmates who grew up together.”

“Clanmates? Oh, that’s right! Sam mentioned that your species, and most species on this ship raise their young in a group setting and the kids hatch from eggs, right?”

“That is correct, and please do not remind me that human females carry their young in their bodies like a parasite.  The last time Sam explained that, it was enough to make all of us wonder how humans have managed to reproduce at all.” H'roll'ah still shuddered when he thought of it, and Khralhen wasn’t able to cook for 3 days after Sam had explained human reproduction.

“Fair enough, I think we reproduce more by accident that anything else, but yeah.  Me, Laura, and Sam are not clanmates like you think,” Thomas chuckled and shook his head, “We are siblings.”

“I do not know this word,” H'roll'ah answered uneasily.  In his experience, an unknown term from a human meant that something painful, gross, horrifying, or all 3 was about to be revealed.

“Sam could explain it better, and having Laura here only seems fair…” Thomas trailed off as he reached for his comm.  "Hey, brats (again with the casual disrespect), can you both get up to the lounge? Captain wants to know about siblings.“ H'roll'ah was always surprised that Thomas clan Walker could be disrespectful when asking for others to do something.

“Sure, be right up,” Sam responded.  She was likely a floor up in the medical facilities and wanted to take a break.

“Grrhhrhhgg.” Laura clan Walker had been sleeping, then, and did not want to come.

“Thanks, ladies, you can both explain family better than me.”  Now the captain was worried again because there was a second new word being bandied around.

~~~
“So, captain, a family unit for humans is very small compared to yours of Ensign Khralhen’s,” Sam explained, “A family is usually made up of the mother and/or father or a surrogate who has assumed that role and the children.  It usually numbers no more than 4-7 individuals.”
“But…But…how do you grow or develop? And to place all that burden on only one or two adults, how do they do anything else?” spluttered K'roll'ah.  He was shocked to find out that humans in the region called ‘America’ did not have an open community.
“Well, children who share 1 or both parents are called “siblings”, and they develop together.  The adults are called “parents”, and yeah, there is a definite loss of freedom involved.“
“So then, you three are…siblings?” H'roll'ah asked.
“Yes, Thomas is the oldest, and Laura is the youngest, with me in the middle,” answered Sam, “and our father bailed on us after Laura was 3 years old, so Tom became the ‘man of the house’ at 7 years old.”
THAT explained Thomas clan Walker’s attitude! Captain H'roll'ah realized that Thomas clan Walker had been in a command position and not had a commander from a young age!
“So that is why you both follow him? He is the new leader”
“Kind of, he is just the best at leading.  He knows what to do and does it well.” Laura answered, which was rare; she was the most quiet of the three.
“And the reason for your peak efficiency?” Captain H'roll'ah asked, determined to get an answer to his question.
“Well, we have known each other all our lives and spent most of those lives in close proximity to each other.  We just understand each other from the long familiarity and exposure.”
“Ah, the same way a pilot becomes better from being on the same ship, just with a person instead.”
“Exactly! And if you are interested in hiring others we are familiar with, we have some cousins, children of our parents’ siblings, who we know very well and want to get into space.”
“Then I will look them up, thank you for answering my questions."
Humans were a strange species.  Instead of focusing on a large community, they developed close bonds with only a few people who share familial ties with them.  Captain H'roll'ah did hire the 'cousins’ and they worked out very well.  The human guidebook was updated to notify captains that humans sharing close blood ties have the potential to perform at higher than normal efficiency.
Now somebody write a story about a captain hiring siblings who hate/cannot stand each other!
I love thinking about Oliver and Thea’s relationship in light of their age difference.
Little nine-year-old Oliver. He’s not quite an only child (despite what people think) because he and Tommy have been brothers for years, especially since Tommy’s mother died. Now Tommy practically lives with them.  Tommy’s actually with Oliver when he’s told the news that he’s going to have a new little sister.
Ten-year-old Oliver, sitting on the big couch in one of the sitting room’s in the mansion, carefully holding his baby sister on his lap, staring in awe at the tiny little person. Around him he senses the tension in the adults. Senses something’s off. When they step out of the room, his parents aren’t quite as happy as they should be. It all softens around Baby Thea, but it still seems connected to her somehow. And from it Oliver feels a strong need to protect his tiny sister. Tommy comes over to play but before going anywhere he’s sat down on the couch alongside Oliver and given Thea to hold.
Twelve-year-old Oliver, holding onto 2-year-old Thea’s pudgy little hands as she takes tottering steps down the halls of Queen Mansion. And when she begins to talk, the way she can’t quite form the L’s in his name so she just forms her own garbled version of his name. Tommy joining in trying to teach her to say his name.
Fifteen-year-old Oliver coming home from high school, in trouble for failing a few of his classes and for ditching school with some new girl. But his scowl melts away when five-year-old Thea comes running out of her room, wearing a plastic tiara, cowboy boots and their mother’s necklace, wanting to play. She chases him around the upper halls of the mansion. He lets her catch him and calls her Speedy. Tommy arrives to sneak him off to some party, but before they go, Tommy gives Thea a piggy-back ride up and down the hall.
Seventeen-year-old Oliver, nursing a hangover, avoiding a girl whose name he can’t remember, hoping his parents don’t find out about the incident with the cop, staying home to babysit seven-year-old Thea so that Raisa can leave despite his parents not being home yet. They sit on the couch and watch the Princess Diaries, while Thea insists that the character’s name is “Thea” not “Mia” and Oliver assures her that she is really a princess.
Eighteen-year-old Oliver leaving for college and eight-year-old Thea crying and asking him not to go before running off to sulk in her room. Tommy takes her to ice-cream the next day to make her feel better. A few months later, when Oliver returns home, Thea’s excitement almost makes him feel better about being kicked out.
Eleven-year-old Thea telling twenty-one-year-old Oliver that everything will be alright as he gets ready to go to court for attacking a paparazzi. Tommy overhearing and telling him that Thea knows best and he should listen to her.
Twenty-two-year-old Oliver kicked out of another school, still reeling from what happened with Samantha and the child they lost, panicking in response to the pressure from Laurel, texting Sara things he knows he shouldn’t gearing up to ask her to do the unthinkable, pushing all that aside for a little while because twelve-year-old Thea wants to tell him about her day and the plans she’s making with her friends and the boy she thinks is cute and Oliver for just a little while feeling calm and happy sitting on the arm of a chair in her room listening to her.
Twelve-year-old Thea sitting in her room, staring at a wall trying to process the fact that her dad and brother are dead. Tommy takes her to ice-cream like he used to. There she breaks down and sobs and he hugs her and cries too.
Seventeen-year-old Thea learning that her big brother is alive and believing for a little bit that everything that’s been broken for so long will be fixed when he gets home. She calls Tommy and they laugh and cry together on the phone.
Twenty-seven-year-old Oliver coming home and finding that seventeen-year-old Thea is everything that broke him before the Island and wanting to help, to fix her, but unable to reach out because he feels he is so far past broken. How can he let hands with so much blood on them go anywhere near his baby sister? He tries but he can’t talk to her and she can’t talk to him because they’ve entered different worlds. Her big brother is still dead and his little sister is still lost to him.
Thirty-year-old Oliver watching his dying sister, doing everything he can to help her and thinking about everything she’s never had. The father, the mother and the brother that she lost. The college she never went to. The career she didn’t build. The boyfriend who was forced to leave. The pain she went through, the darkness she let into herself. All because he came back into her life four years ago. Since she was born he wanted to protect her, but now he sees how much he failed, how much he dragged her down with him.
Thirty-two-year old Oliver seeing his baby sister grown up, letting herself heal, rediscovering her family ties. A warrior who isn’t trapped in battle. A capable woman in any career she chooses. Twenty-two, the age he was when his life fell apart but she’s just heading into the best part of hers. And she sees him, her big brother restored- a leader, a warrior, a hero- everything he was to her when she was little now for all the world to see.
Important Things we Learned in 12.12
  • how Crowley ended up King of Hell
  • what happened to the Colt
  • that Azazel had three sibling Yellow Eyed Demons
  • And there’s still two of them alive…
  • Crowley cares more about the Winchesters (including Cas) than power
  • CASTIEL LOVES DEAN WINCHESTER
  • (and the other Winchesters…)
  • AND THEY ARE HIS FAMILY
  • that was literally his dying declaration
  • before he didn’t die…
  • Wherever Rowena’s spell sent Lucifer, it wasn’t The Cage
  • The BMoL still suck rocks
ATLA showcases three distinctly different examples of sibling relationships:
  • Sokka and Katara represent a healthy, positive relationship. Their bickering is petty or quickly resolved to make room for lighter jokes or jibes, and are consistently protective over each other. They are rarely seen apart and are always happy to be reunited; some of the best communicators.
  • Zuko and Azula represent a damaged, unstable relationship. Although once more positive in the past, poor parenting and situations have pitted them against each other. Often separated by distance, and have difficulty communicating what they want from each other. This relationship isn’t a lost cause, it can still be repaired, given time and effort.
  • Iroh and Ozai represent a destroyed, dissolved relationship. Although we don’t see them directly interact (though that should be a big indication on its own), the enmity between these two is very solid and practically irreparable. Iroh never shies away from the knowledge that his brother must overthrown and has nothing positive to say about him, and Ozai rankles at his privileges and wordlessly leaves his brother to rot in jail.
anonymous asked:
Ok but pidge reacting to shalluratt just.....older sibling times three
matt: typical older brother, always messing with her, teasing her 24/7, but would also do literally anything to make her happy
allura: best friend older sister, always loves to hang out with her, gives her attention, enables her far too much
shiro: weak older brother, wrapped around her finger, tries to be strict but fails, ridiculously overprotective
all three: take any opportunity they can to embarrass her
Robert Queen accepted Thea completely and unreservedly as his daughter even knowing that Malcolm Merlyn was her biological father.
BUT Robert Queen also unofficially adopted Tommy as his second son when Rebecca died and Malcolm abandoned him. Tommy even talks about it: “your dad took me to my first hockey game. Your dad taught me how to fly fish. Your dad took us to our first R-rated movie” after talking about how Malcolm only had the appearance of being his father.
Robert Queen raised both of Malcolm’s children as his own. Thea, Tommy and Oliver, were all three raised as siblings.
(A/n): So just a while back I said that I would write an Ethan story SO HERE I actually did it be proud of me
Summary: You have some nieces and nephews in the family so you ask Markimoo, Tyler and blue boy to help you babysit. Mark and Tyler turn out to not be the only ones that think you and Ethan should date.
Warnings: I think I swore ?? but also TICKLING
_____
You were pretty excited about this actually. Your sibling had asked you to take care of their three kids for the day while they were out with their spouse. Of course, you obliged. You really liked their kids, but thought babysitting to be more of a chore.
For one person, three kids was a lot. So, you went and enlisted help from your band of friends. You knew for sure that they would love the kids instantly.
Traveling from your flat to Mark’s wasn’t a hassle. After two brisk knocks on the boys’ front door, Mark himself opened it with a large grin.
“Evening~!” He purred “Tyler is in the living room with every toy imaginable, go steal them from him!”
The three children giggled and pushed past him, calling a chorus of ‘hello’s.
You yourself couldn’t help but laugh, stepping up to the doorway gingerly.
“Thanks for doing this.” you said to Mark “It’s only for one night, but I didn’t think I could handle it by myself; sorry if it was sudden when I calle–”
“(Y/n),” Mark chuckled. He rested a hand on the small of your back and nudged you inside so he could close the door “It’s totally fine. I planned everything. They’re all sharing a room upstairs.”
You sighed and beamed up at him “Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it.” he smiled back.
Giggly screams broke through your conversation. The both of you turned to the sound and walked toward it; past the living room entrance.
Their stood, by the far back wall, Tyler. One kid hanging from his left bicep, one tied around his calf and the other Ethan was about to crown Tyler’s shoulders with.
They all froze to look at the two of you.
“What even?” you chuckled walking around to reach out for the one hanging from his arm.
Grabbing her sides, you lifted her high and set her down quickly, tickling her ribs. She screamed in delight.
“DOES THIS MEAN TICKLE WAR?” Mark called in a silly tone.
“IT DOES.” Tyler confirmed.
The two men snatched up the other two children. Mark taking the one from Ethan. Everyone began to laugh as tickling ensued.
“This– this isn’t fair- no!” the small girl breathed “Teams! T-Teams!” she hollered.
You smiled and released her, sitting back on your knees. “Alright,” you offered “Pick your teams.”
“Well,” she stood.
Her small frame was proud and determined to win this battle.
“Myself Prim,” she gestured to herself  “and Dane,” then to one small boy “Connie,” the other boy “and Ethwan.”
“And Ethan.” you laughed.
Getting up, you looked to the mentioned blue boy and commented “You have a team of warriors.”
“Of course I do!” he cheered “We are going to win!”
❆   ❆   ❆
Everyone got onto their respective sides.
Yourself, Tyler and Mark on the left side of the lounge with Ethan, Prim, Dane and Connie on the opposing side.
“Alright men,” you began “I’ll take out Ethan, their biggest threat. Tyler, you take Dane and Connie. Mark, you get Prim.”
“Roger.” the two said in unison.
“But, watch for Connie, soldiers.” you forewarned “He’s a wild card.”
“Copy that.”
You three broke apart and got into dramatic positions. The children giggled.
“No!” Ethan cried “Don’t let them distract you!”
“Guns ready! Three, two, one! GO!” Tyler cheered.
The seven of you broke loose. Anarchy rained and childish giggles laced the joyful air. Mark was quick to be taken down by both Prim and Dane. Tyler went to the aid of his fallen comrade but was soon after jumped by Connie.
You laughed hysterically, forgetting your assigned task.
“Mark, no!” you whailed.
Though, the sadness was short lived when two arms snaked their way under your own. You gasped in surprise.
“I got her! I got her!” Ethan chuckled. His hands went to work on manipulating your sides. You body betrayed you in letting a laugh bubble through your throat.
“God NO!” You began to screech with laughter in joyus bursts.
You couldn’t really run away, so instead you dropped to your knees, hoping to leave Ethan’s grip. But he only dropped with you, encircling his arms around your torso to lessen your movement.
“E-E-Ethan! Hav-hahah-have merccc-c-cy!” you whined, laughing intensified.
“Give in (Y/n),” you heard Tyler chuckle “their power is unmatchable.”
“I givv-v-ve up!” you cried.
Ethan laughed and let you go, leaving you to catch some needed breath.
❆   ❆   ❆
Once the war was won, you all resorted to playing with the toy’s instead.
One toy in particular you thought was quite cute; an old fashioned toy phone. The one with the spin dial and the coil cord.
“Ah jee, doesn’t this bring memories.” You said to Ethan. He was standing next to you as you picked it up.
“Holy shit, that sure does.” he laughed “I used to have one, it was green.”
You smiled at the faded blue toy “But where’s the phone?”
“Sh!” Dane suddenly snapped “I’m on a call!”
You shook your head silently and looked up to Ethan. He grinned and shrugged.
At once you began to feel a tugging on your legs.
Both you and the blue haired boy looked down.
It was Dane wrapping the phone coil around both of you. He started to chat happily.
“Ethan and (Y/n) sittin’ in a tree!”
Soon both Tyler and Mark had joined in. Followed by a laughing Connie and a smiling Prim.
“K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” the group chorused “First comes love! Then comes marriage! Then comes a baby in the baby carriage!”
The coil bounded you and the youtuber together at the knees, hips and waist. You were physically pressed to each other.
Ethan’s face began to show a great contrast with his hair when it flushed red. Yours following suit.
“Mark, why are their faces red?” Connie whispered.
“Because they are in love.” Mark replied, beaming at the sight. Tyler let loose a hearty laugh when he heard Mark’s declaration.
❆   ❆   ❆
The rest of the evening was filled with many, many laughs and plenty of childish embarrassment. Though, the two of you did get freed eventually, the teasing did not let up. But, sooner or later, it drew close to bedtime.
You gently scooped up Connie and Dane once they began to yawn. Ethan picking up Prim.
“Time for the sleeps, kiddos’.” you lulled softly.
“Mark and I are going to clean this up,” Tyler smiled to you, gesturing to the cluster of throw about toys. You nodded to him quietly.
Gaining your way up the stairs, you reached the kids’ designated bedroom and placed both Dane and Connie in their beds. They both offered you hushed goodnights.
Ethan went to do the same, finding the small girl asleep in his arms. He was careful when resting her upon the covers, layering her in a fluffy down duvet.
“Awe,” you hummed “What a great dad you’d be.”
Though it was said in a joking matter, you had still meant it.
“Wouldn’t I though.” he beamed.
“Of course.” you agreed, walking to the door, stopping to let Ethan out before you.
He closed to door softly behind him.
“I’m sure I could master raising any amount of kids with one hand,” he joked.
You looked at him and chuckled.
“as long as you are holding the other one.”
You froze for a moment, your gaze raking his features. He simply smiled and leant forward.
Ethan’s lips meant yours in a calm, gentle kiss. You described it was warm, and firm.
Kissing him back was charming, you went and tied you arms around his neck, with his resting on your hips.
“So I expected you to put the kids to bed, not make some more.” Mark suddenly coughed.
Ethan and you were fast to break apart, the youtuber’s gaze collapsing awkwardly.
“Cooties…” Mark mumbled, retreating back down stairs.
You couldn’t help yourself when another placid smile captured your face. Babysitting sure wasn’t fun without friends.
