and the scenery in this movie *a* so beautiful

Jealous // Cole Sprouse

Hiii :) I’m not sure if you’re taking requests but if you are, please could you write something super fluffy where you’re best friends with Dylan and Cole’s your boyfriend and he gets jealous of all the time you spend with dylan or something? I don’t know, basically just something really cute with both my boys :) xx

Warnings: Angst, Arguing

Word Count: 1,367

Characters: Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse

A/N: I merged this in with the song ‘Woman’ by Harry Styles because I thought it fit well. I’m not sure, but yeah. There will be a part 2 x

—- —-

“Should we just search romantic comedies on Netflix and then see what we find?” You spoke, walking into the living room of your and Cole’s shared apartment, looking at the blonde who was sitting on the couch. You handed the bowl of popcorn to Dylan, sitting down next to him and looking at your phone to see if Cole had messaged you.

“When does Cole get back?” Dylan asked, already looking on the ‘Romantic Comedies’ sub-genre on Netflix, scrolling through the movies. You looked at your phone, seeing the time he had texted you. “He get backs after midnight, so yeah.” You grabbed a few pieces of popcorn, popping them in your mouth and waiting for Dylan to pick a movie.

Since Cole had gone somewhere close by with the cast for an interview of some sort, you had stayed behind, since he would only be gone for a day. You had invited his brother over, since you were quite bored and you needed someone to watch a movie with. You and Dylan had quite a close relationship, since he was one of your best friends, and had introduced you to Cole.

-

“Okay, okay!” You laughed, handing Dylan the controller, letting him pick the movie again. You had just finished watching the second movie (you had picked both of them) and Dylan wanted to pick the next one. “What is the time?” You asked, grabbing his wrist to look at the watch. It was only 10:25 at night. You took a deep breath, standing up and stretching your arms above your head, feeling the bones pop in your back.

Dylan was sat on the couch, going through the movies on Netflix once again as you walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge. “Do you want a drink, Dyl?!” You called out, pulling the jug of orange juice from the fridge, placing it on the counter. “Yeah, sure!” He called out. You poured the juice into two cups, about to grab them when you heard your phone ring. “Can you answer that?” You asked, putting the jug back in the fridge. Hearing Dylan on your phone made you a bit nervous. What if it was your boss, or your doctor or your parents?

You walked into the living room, placing the cups down on the coffee table. Dylan’s arm was resting across the back of the couch, ankle resting on his knee as he spoke to the person on the other line of your phone. “Who is it?” You asked quietly, sitting on the edge of the coffee table and taking a sip from the cup.

“Cole,” Dylan spoke, a smile on his lips. “Want to talk to him?” Dylan handed the phone to you, making you smile. You held the phone to your ear, standing up and walking towards the kitchen.

“Hey there, handsome.” You grinned, leaning against the counter and hearing his voice through the speaker. “Hey there, beautiful. How are you?” He asked. You could hear the rest of the cast chatting, and you could just imagine him leaning against the window, looking at the scenery passing by and his headphones shoved in his ear, a smile on his lips as the others all teased him about him being lovey-dovey.

“I’m going good, thank you. Dylan’s just been invited over because I have nothing to do. So we’re just watching movies.” You ran your fingers through your hair, hearing the huff in his voice. “What?”

“Nothing. Just, hang tight. I’ll be home soon.” He took a deep breath, hesitating on the last three words. “I love you.”

“I love you too…”

-

I’m selfish, I know.

But I don’t ever want to see you with him.

I’m selfish, I know.

I told you, but I know you never listen.

I hope you can see, the shape that I’m in,

While he’s touching your skin.

He’s right where I should, where I should be,

But you’re making me bleed.

Cole walked into the apartment, being as quiet as he could. It was past 1am and the car had just dropped him off. He dropped his back pack at the door, kicking off his shoes and hanging his jacket on the hooks mounted to the wall. He saw that the TV was still on, so he walked towards the lounge. Seeing the familiar head of his brother, he had hoped that you had fallen asleep on either the other end of the couch, or in your shared bedroom.

“Dylan?” He whispered, not sure if he was awake. When he got no response, he sighed, tiptoeing towards the TV. He ran his fingers through his hair, looking on the couch. Once he had seen how you and Dylan were positioned, he felt… jealous. Your head was rested on Dylan’s thigh, soft snores and parted lips. Dylan was slouched quite weirdly, making sure you were comfortable. His arm was resting on your side, but he did look like he was about to fall over.

Cole took a deep breath, gently nudging you, in hopes that you would wake up the first time. You were usually a light sleeper, which was annoying when he woke up early for meetings, but you’d end up going back to sleep after he left. “Babe?” Cole whispered, looking up at Dylan, making sure he didn’t wake up his twin.

A small sound came from your lips, your eyelids fluttering as you looked up at the blurry figure in front of you. You took a deep breath, slowly sitting up and rubbing your eyes. You were still a bit drowsy, but a lazy smile came across your lips as you saw the figure of your boyfriend kneeling in front of you. “Hey, there.” You smiled, taking his hands as he pulled you up, bringing you to your chest.

“C’mon, let’s get you to bed.” Cole let you go, but still held your hand. “Is Dylan going to be comfortable on the couch? We can wake him up and let him sleep in the guest room,” you spoke softly, looking over your shoulder, seeing Dylan’s figure still sitting up. Cole sighed, rolling his eyes. “He’s going to be fine, (y/n). I’ll wake him up after I get you to bed.” Cole opened the bedroom door, letting you walk in first. He closed the door softly behind the both of you

“How was the interview?” You murmured, pulling your shirt off and undoing your bra. You looked through your drawers, pulling out a shirt and putting it on. You slipped your leggings off, dumping the dirty clothes in the basket and stretching your arms above your head. “It was decent. The usual. They tried to get season 2 out of us. But yeah.” Cole shrugged. He was still a little annoyed about how you had been spending time with Dylan and that you didn’t tell him. You looked at him, furrowing your eyebrows a little. “Are you okay?” You asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“I don’t ever want to see you with Dylan. Especially not like that,” Cole blurted out, crossing his arms over his chest. “Do you know how that makes me feel?”

“Cole… He’s my best friend…” You looked up at the brunette, biting your lip. “No. He is my brother, and I don’t want you hanging around him anymore! I know, I’m selfish. Yes, I am! You’re mine and I don’t want him stealing you away!” Cole exclaimed, making you stand up, pulling a pair of plaid pants on.

“You’re crazy!” You exclaimed, walking out of the bedroom and to the couch, seeing Dylan still asleep, but now laying down. You threw a blanket over him, grabbing your phone and turning the TV off. You huffed, seeing him following you. “You are absolutely crazy and I am sleeping in the spare bedroom until you get your marbles back!” You whisper-yelled, opening the spare room door and going to close it in his face, but he was quick and knew your movements.

“(Y/N)!” Cole groaned, standing in the doorway, but you pushed him into the hallway.

“I’ll talk to you in the morning.” You hissed, shutting the door in his face.

just little things i love about halo
  • so many different alien races that aren’t just there for you to kill, but each with their own unique cultures and histories
  • these aliens also have dozens of characters who often get their own narrative so you see the story from their point of view, not just the human’s
  • oh did i mention also the humans are considered aliens?
  • none of that generic “humans are the underdogs and need to prove themselves” narrative
  • just…AIs in general. though they’re not treated as people by most of the characters they’re given as much love and attention as everyone else by the writers (barring halo 5)
  • mentally ill characters who aren’t defined by their mental illness (barring halo 5 (x2))
  • cortana’s entire character arc
  • thel’vadam’s entire character arc
  • you know what? every character arc
  • speaking of alien cultures, there’s a shitton of religion for both aliens and humans despite such a strong sci-fi setting, and without the “hurr durr religion is bad” nonsense (tho some of the religions are bad)
  • men and women being treated equally. the only races with gender inequality are those who’re set back by the covenant’s toxic traditions, and in halo 5, you see thel'vadam working to break down those traditions by allowing sangheili women to become warriors (yay!)
  • additionally, there’s very little romance and no sexualizing. even cortana, who’s friggin’ naked, is not defined in the least by her appearance
  • so, so, SO much lore. literally like, ten million years and more worth of lore. halo’s story has so much going on and all going way back
  • “forerunners are stupid” -  a literal trend
  • not just forerunners, though. everyone. everyone is stupid. the whole universe got fucked over because people were stupid.
  • this was more 343 than bungie, but just the sheer amount of detail put in into the story. they could’ve easily just said “because it does” but instead went out of their way to create the science behind all of the story’s technologies. from space-travel to an AI’s exact function, everything was extremely thought-out.
  • the aesthetic - all of it. despite being a apocalypse-themed, there’s so much vibrant colors and breath-taking scenery, even the flood-based levels like cortana have a morbid beauty to them. also, giving forerunner architecture different aesthetics based off their creator’s factions was cool too.
  • blur’s cinematics
  • the fact halo’s extended universe branches out to all forms of media - books, multiple video game genres, anime, tv series, podcasts, comics, unfortunately still no movie but some day.
  • just…everything. even despite halo 5’s failings i found things i absolutely adored, and i think no matter what i will always love this stupid franchise so, so much.
I’ve done it once, I’ll do it again

yes indeed, I’m going to defend the honor of the 2004 Phantom of the Opera, but with evidence to go with it. Yes, I’m aware some people have different opinions on the adaptions, but I’m tired of the phandom hating on this adaption because no matter what you say, it is still an ALW production and deserves much more recognition.

Reason 1.

Out of all the renditions of POTO, this one took the longest. I’m sure everyone knows the struggles of making a movie, but not counting the filming and planning, this movie took almost 20 years just to finalize everything. From the rights purchase to the finding of a director to choosing the production company it took 20 years. wow.

Reason 2.

When they actually decided to film the movie and pick actors, Andrew Lloyd Webber, having complete artistic freedom, decided to go in a different direction than his stage adaptions by not only giving Erik a different perception, but the film in itself. Yes, his original plan was to cast Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford in the film when he decided to make a film in 1989, but after years of production limbo with Warner Brothers, he decided to do something else. Webber chose Shcumacher as his director because he was impressed with the almost obscure way he viewed things, and he decided to choose a cast to go along with Schumacher’s way of filming. Webber decided to go a different way of casting the phantom as stated in the wikipedia article for POTO 2004

They had both decided on another version of the phantom to incorporate in the film thus causing them to look for someone with an edgier side.

They first chose Hugh Jackman as the role of the phantom, but he rejected the role due to the film he was already working on.

Reason 5.

Personally, I think Gerard Butler was the perfect choice for this movie. No, he’s not Ramin Karimloo or Crawford, but he is one heck of a Phantom. For one, he matches the description above when they said they wanted someone more rock and roll and dangerous. Butler really impressed me with the power of his voice. Again, he wasn’t as professional as Karimloo, but he surprised many others.

In this article, it states how Butler had only 4 lessons before performing Music of the Night for Webber, need i remind you how advanced that song is, and Webber was so impressed, he chose him for the role. that most certainly counts for something.

Reason 6.

Emmy Rossum and Patrick Wilson are also completely underestimated. Rossum, for one, had never had a professional role in a musical movie before in her life and was only 16 when she was chosen. She had been classically trained in opera from a very young age, and Webber offered her the role on the spot after hearing her sing one song. One. Song.

Wilson is another story, look at this article

Wilson was specifically chosen for his background on broadway, I mean look at all the stuff he’s been in!

Wilson had stared in over 5 productions and was chosen to display a more stagish Raoul.

Reason 7.

Have you not seen the costume and scene design?

One of the things I love about movie adaptions of musicals is freedom of set design. You can actively show the characters traveling and interacting in different physical scenery. While the stage production of POTO is so intricate and beautiful, the movie was able to go into more detail on the settings (ex. you can literally see the Palais Garnier in the movie as well as the inside detail even if they didn’t actually film there. They were also able to show more of Erik’s lair as well as the tunnels below.

Reason 8.

Even though I was very disappointed by the cutting of certain parts of certain songs, they pretty much were able to capture the essence of the musical without those extra lyrics.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I keep seeing others dissing this movie just because it’s different from other productions. But let me break it to you gently

*clears throat*

NO TWO PRODUCTIONS ARE ALIKE. SAY YOU LIKE EARL CARPENTER OVER RAMIN KARIMLOO, I DON’T SEE CARPENTER LOVERS DISSING RAMIN JUST BECAUSE THEY LIKE CARPENTER BETTER.

I want to live in a world where people accept the fact that Gerard Butler played a pretty okay phantom. Also, I’m pretty sure people are going to think I’m annoying for going so much into this, but this movie helped me get through my parents divorce and my surgery so I’m going to defend it with everything I got.

Art Museum Meeting ft. Taehyung

like 2% fluff

today was the day. you were going to an art musuem for the first time. it was something that you always wanted to do.

you tried to get your friends to come along with you but, they thought that it’d be ‘boring’. so here you were, walking alone and humming slow songs to yourself.

although you were about to be alone, you still kept a smile on your face. you were about to be face to…frame with art. not just random art, but some of the most famous pieces.

vincent van gogh paintings were what you anticipated the most. all of his work was out of this world but what you really couldn’t wait to see was the starry night, irises, and the yellow house.

your walking and thoughts about art came to a halt when your phone started ringing, loudly. you answered the call while putting your phone on silent mode.

you were extremely lucky to not be in the musuem when it rang. your ringtone was a song with very explicit lyrics, so that wouldn’t have been good.

“who has ringtones anymore?” you overheard but couldn’t figure out who asked that question.

you scoffed it off and turned your attention back onto your phone.

“yes, can i help you?” you sarcastically asked.

“kill the attitude y/n, i just wanted to see if you were at that place yet.” your annoying friend said, already getting on your nerves.

“if i was there, i wouldn’t be talking to you right now.”

“don’t lie. i’m your friend, you’d answer whenever i call because you love me.” she teased.

“i mean…if that false thought helps you sleep at night, then believe it all you want.”

“anyways.” she paused amd dramatically sighed. “you need a man so i’m hoping that you meet an intellectual at that place.”

“i don’t need a man and for the last time, it’s a musuem.”

“and for the last time it’s a musuem!” your friend mocked you. “you need a man! i’m tired of you third wheeling with me and m-”

you cut her off by hanging up. “annoying. as. hell.” you mummered as you started to walk again.

🍌

“finally.” you let out a sigh of relief once you saw the two front doors of the musuem that you had wanted to visit for years.

your hand quickly rose up to your face as a tear shed from your eye.

“what the hell? what’s she crying for?” a random person asked their friend, thinking that you didn’t hear it. but you did.

instead of embarrassing yourself in public and spitting out very detailed and emotional paragraphs about the beauty of the outside of the musuem, you hurriedly entered.

just as you expected, there were people everywhere. this place was heavenly, the scenery…everything.

“this place looks like something from that beauty and beast movie!” you smiled, watching a kid as he shouted and pointed at the ceiling in awe.

you remembered being that age, being so interested in art and photography. thankfully, that interested stayed with you up until now.

you started on the left side of the museum, admiring the floral paintings as they lead you to the back. to your left were the stairs that went to the second floor.

“even the stairs! who painted this?” you mumered while you slowly walked up each stair, looking at each one before you went up on it. they were individually painted in a different design or style.

“you seem to be really into those stairs.” a deep voice said which made you jump. hell, the owner of it was basically in your ear.

you hurriedly went up to the second floor and turmed around to face whoever it was that made that comment.

“damn.” you said in a breathy tone. the owner of that deep voice was a tall and (very) handsome man.

he looked wealthy, healthy and sexy. you couldn’t even hide that you found him attractive.

he wore a long sleeved loose shirt that he had tucked into his pants and he had on those ugly gucci shoes that everybody wanted for a reason you didn’t know. but he made it work.

“what? Is there something wrong?” he curiously asked, squinting his eyes at you.

you were staring too long!

you were hesitant to say anything so instead of doing so, you walked away.

“hey..” the man quietly called you until he caught up to you. “why’d you say damn?”

you sighed and turned to face him. as soon as your eyes met his, your face got hot and at that point you were struggling to do anything. you couldn’t even move or speak.

that is, until he snapped his fingers in your face. “ma'am.” he whispered.

“don’t call me that. i’m not old.” you said once you came back down to earth.

“okay, tell me.” he swayed from side to side with his hands in his pockets, staring at you, and waiting for you to say something.

you didn’t like to lie but you had to. you weren’t about to tell him that he was the most attractive man you’d seen in your life.

“you dropped your forehead.” you spat out and waited until he looked down to escape to the nearest bathroom.

🍌

you waited for five minutes, hoping that he wasn’t near when you walked out. hell, there were four stories here, he shouldn’t be.

“dumbass! it’s only been five minutes and this is an art museum. he got up here the same time you did!” you face palmed yourself after thinking about this whole situation.

you were here for the art and not to play hide and seek, if he was even looking for you…

you kind of hoped that he was. when would you ever get this attention again? it’s been so long since any dude had ever paid attention to you.

you just didn’t know how to act. acring hard to get was something that you always did because you wanted to see how far a guy would go for you.

they always gave up.

“it can’t be that bad.” you told yourself, as you proceeded to exit the bathroom.

“hey, thanks for telling me.” said that familiar voice that you thought that you’d never hear again. “about my forehead.”

you sighed and proceeded to walk away but, he grabbed your arm. your eyes slowly traveled down to his hand and then back up to look him directly in his. “let me go..”

“let’s look around together?” he suggested, sneakily putting his hand in yours

“let me go.” you were getting annoyed.

“i’ll let go if you promise not to run away again.” he chuckled and slid his hand in yours.

“i don’t have to promise you anything. i don’t even know you. so let me go.” you ordered.

“what are you so mad about?” he asked.

you let out a dramatic sigh and looked him straight in his eyes. you noticed how his pupils enlarged, his cheeks developed a rosy tint and his hand became moist.

was he intimidated? hopefully.

“really?” you paused. “there’s a stranger holding my hand. he won’t leave me alone. i didn’t come here to be attacked, i came here to look at art.”

his curious facial expression changed into a more giddy one. he let go of your hand and did the most extra bow that you had ever seen. “i’m kim taehyung.”

suddenly, you weren’t annoyed anymore. you couldn’t hide your smile.

his smile was contagious, and he was actually kind of cute.

“i’m…y/n.”

“y/n, y/n, y/n, y/n. the most beautiful human that i’ve ever seen.” he went over to your side and wrapped his arm around your shoulders.

“don’t gas me.” you scoffed at his action, wiggling to get his arm from around your shoulders. as expected, you failed..but it was worth the try.

“that’s silly. you’re not a car.” he laughed, thinking that what you said was some type of joke.

“oh!” taehyung shouted, leaving you behind as he rushed over to a familiar painting.

you quickly followed him after realizing that the painting was, the starry night.

“oh my god!” you semi yelled.

“it’s what i most wanted to see. it’s beautiful right?” he asked you, raising one of his eyebrows and stepping closer to your side.

you nodded, noticing that he was suddenly and very close to you. “me too.” you paused and eyed him. “but…do you know what personal space is?”

“why are you being so mean to me?” taehyung asked, fake pouting.

“i’m not? you’re just really close. we’re not dating and i don’t know you that well, so there’s no reason for it.”

he cocked his head to the side and stepped to the side to give you back your personal space. “well then, can we get to know each other better? i wanna know you better.”

what a genuine voice.

you covered your mouth before he could see the wide smile that quickly formed after what he had said. “why do you even wanna get to know me? i’m no one special.”

“wrong.” he shook his head no. “you’re so beautiful and different in so many ways. we haven’t even known each other long but i think i like you.”

“oh.” was all that came out of your mouth. it was all that you could say.

that was the first time that someone had said something like that to you. not even your ex’s told you something like this.

“so, do you want to go out to one of the cafes around here? we can come back. i’ll pay for everything.” he offered.

“you’re really trying to make moves with me huh?” you let out a small giggle.

he might’ve done something here. you started catching feelings.

“i mean, yeah.” he swayed, looked away from you and awkwardly smiled,  letting you see his shy side for the first time today.

“okay.” you responded walking past him and heading towards the exit.

“yes!” he whispered to himself as he followed behind you.

“i heard that.” you said, holding the door open for him. as a response, he laughed and grabbed your hand. when the thought of yanking your hand away came to mind, you quickly got rid of it.

🍌

when you two went to the cafe, you really came around to him. you became bestfriends almost instantly after he did what he did. he showed you how happy you could really be. not to mention the endless gas that he supplied you with.

I've noticed looking into Sansa and Jons eyes in gifs, it's almost always the same thing: Jon always looks her in the eye, then down. Meanwhile, Sansa always looks from side to side and back. So I think her favorite feature, consistently, is his eyes, and his is her lips. I love that little bit of effort on their actors part!

Anon I’m so sorry for taking this long to answer this, I’m Such a Lazy Person. I promise I’ll do much better next time .

Anon kit and sophie acting is so on point, they definitely have the best chemistry on the show! Sansa and jon are magnetic , magical and they look so regal in their “incest” matching fur!Kit and sophie use their facial expresions to convey jonsa’s feelings and emotions.

In season 6 when jonsa reunite, sansa was a totally different person than the one jon knew .That’s why jon was completely fascinated by her , her personality, her strength and beauty. What you guys don’t know is that ned said this to jon “When you’re old enough, I will make you a match with a magnificent redhead  who’s worthy of you, someone gentle, loving, courageous who will give you strenght”( don’t even try to tell me that he never said that!)no wonder he couldn’t keep his eyes off her she is the redhead that was promised after all.

ya boy here couldn’t stop gazing at her (he was so happy and internally screaming father always keeps his promises l knew l was brought back for a reason! lol)

l believe you were talking about this when you said” Jon always looks her in the eye, then down”.Jon always looks at sansa when she’s not looking. In this scene sansa’s eyes were fixed on him   and the longer she looked, the more he couldn’t handle her stare that’s why he broke eye contact.  (something to hide !)

You also noticed this” sansa always looks into jon’s eyes” .Yep my girl knows how to get things from her husband lol. Look at her facial expressions you could see how hurt she was, the softness in her eyes when she looks at jon (wait …wait.. l just wanted to point out that jon usually looks away really fast when he sees that sansa’s watching him but here he didn’t) the change in her voice and the way she said” would that be so terrible” made him  stop and look back at her, he looked into her eyes and saw that all she wanted was to help him become the king she knows he can be.l think in that moment jon realized how much she means to him.The deep gaze,  the sigh and his facial expressions say it all .

l’ve saved the best for last. THE SCENE! the scene that almost killed us all last year! l shouldn’t say anything because that scene is so perfect and does not need a commentary! That scene is the synonym of perfection, Dios mios how can you look at this and not screaaaam l ship it! my babies were so beautiful and that fooocking scenery was everything. In that perfect scene jon grabbed her head and kissed her gently on her forehead….WAIT DID YOU SEE THAT!? AFTER HE KISSED HER HE WAS LOOKING AT HER! MY DUDE LOOKED AT HER FOR LIKE 5 FOOOKING SECONDS he was trying to decide whether to kiss her or not. Omg for a minute l thought l was watching a romantic movie hahahaha , fam  l’ll fight y’all if you watch that scene and still say he’s not aware of his feelings lool. jonsa is coming.

I love Tangled too and I was wondering why it's your favorite?

I was nearly finished writing this but then accidentally refreshed the page and I had to start all over again, but I need to get this out. It might feel a little rushed but I wrote this down before and I wanted to keep it shorter this time.

- Eugene and Rapunzel are both amazing characters. Eugene is one of my favorite Disney characters ever, with his charm and funny personality, yet his backstory touches me every time. The way he deals with it really played with the ‘what’s good and bad’ question, and his development is amazing.
It’s difficult for me to love or even accept a female lead in any movie or series because they get portrayed badly most of the time, but I absolutely love Rapunzel. She’s a little clumsy and too excited about everything, but yet badass and cute and gets things done. Bless her.

- Maximus and Pascal are the best sidekicks. I love the relationship and development between Maximus and Eugene, and Pascal is all the sassy cuteness you need in this movie.

- One of the most quotable movies ever. I feel like there’s a quote for everything and I use them all the time.

- Onto an important part. Mother Gothel is the best Disney villain because she is so painfully realistic. As someone with a toxic/mentally abusive/narcissistic mom, I recognize a lot of the things she says and the way she acts- how she tries to look good and protecting while in fact all she does is abuse her power to get what she wants. Now I can elaborate on this but it’s pretty simple. Disney shows how mothers can be, and Mother Gothel says many things that are very realistic as to what toxic mothers say in real life. Especially Mother Knows Best Reprise is very good in this (which, by the way, is one of the best villain songs Disney ever made ngl).

- Another thing, Disney shows that saying ‘I love you’ doesn’t have to mean it’s true. It’s something people with toxic parents struggle a lot with. Mother Gothel seems to take good care of Rapunzel and wanting to protect her, as if Rapunzel should be grateful. Rapunzel actually sings about this. This song means way more than the fact she can’t get out of the tower. It’s pointing at the manipulation again. Mother Gothel has always said she loved Rapunzel and always made it look like she did, like she was the good one It leaves Rapunzel with guilt which is shown at the end when Mother Gothel falls and Rapunzel still tries to save her- despite her knowing that she’s been bad all the time.

- Next to this, they also quickly discuss the thought of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ during I’ve Got A Dream. Again a masterful work of music and a great thought behind it. Eugene’s part is so good as well- most of the time, ‘wanting money’ is something evil, but it’s not this time. I’m really glad this is included.

- Most of the times with Disney movies, there’s one or a few songs I don’t like. I love all the songs in Tangled, got nothing else to say about that. They’re just terrific.

- I got to mention, the aesthetics of this movie. Don’t tell me those lanterns aren’t beautiful to you. Everything about this movie, the colors, the scenery, the music, the sounds, the vibes, the animations… it’s all so pleasing and I can’t get enough.

Shabby Sandcastles Pt 2; C.H.

A/N: Due to popular demanded, I’ve given this part 2 a go. Happy reading.

“Y/n! Y/n wait!” She stops in her tracks, but doesn’t turn around at the sound of my voice. I wouldn’t blame her. She doesn’t speak, just stands there completely motionless, waiting for me to do something. “I’m sorry.” I mutter, probably not completely genuine if you ask me, but all the well, I meant it.

“I saw that yeah. I haven’t done anything wrong to you so in what right mind makes you think you can treat me in such a way?” Her voice is strained, but full of emotion - anger, maybe even hatred, towards me. I can’t come up with something proper to give her as an answer and decide to just stay quiet.

“Aren’t you going to say something?” She speaks louder this time and I can feel my cheeks heating when a few people down the corridor turn their heads. “Y/n, I’m sorry it’s just…” I trail off. She won’t be too happy with me when I just tell her she isn’t cool enough for me, because she most definitely is.

“Just what? You’ve got a reputation to uphold?” She cocks an eyebrow at me and a devious grin makes its way into her lips while she stares at me. I can feel the guilt and shame become apparent on my features and I think it fuels her anger she’s storing - just for me. “You don’t understand. Luke and - well you know - I can’t go back to how it was before Y/n. I just can’t.”

“Then I guess you can’t talk to me, right? Let’s end it now then and get it over with.” She huffs and turns on her heel again, ready to stalk away from me. “Y/n babe come on, wait.” I speak a bit louder while my fingers curl around her wrist. The death glare I receive speaks a thousand words, but I do not release my hold.

“Why didn’t you text me back?” I mumble, eyes cast towards the floor when I feel her pulling cease and let go of her wrist. I cross my arms over my chest, something defensive about it, when she slowly shakes her head at me. “We still aren’t completely housed in, Calum. I’ve been working on our new home for almost two weeks alongside my parents to get it a little bit more home-y. If I did get a chance to look at my phone I wouldn’t be awake long enough for a full text message.”

I don’t respond because somehow I knew she wasn’t like the other girls and wouldn’t keep me hanging on some thin line while talking to ten other males. She wasn’t like that. “So I’m sorry that I may have hurt your feelings, Calum. But sometimes life doesn’t go easy on you, it’s not like I want to be here.”

“I was enthralled when I saw you on the courtyard this morning.” I lazily smile, hoping to pull a small smile - any smile would suffice - from her lips. I fail.

“I didn’t notice any of that when you just blatantly ignored me two minutes ago.” If her words would be poisonous, I would’ve given up by now and accepted my faith. But I’m not giving up this easily.

“Let me take you out. I could show you around, and I can make it up to you. It’s a win-win for you.” I take both of her hands and feel more and more people stopping to stare, ignoring their conversations and focusing solely on ours. “And what’s in it for you?”

“I get to hang out with this awesome friend I made during the summer. And who knows.” I throw her a wink and I see the hint of a smile appear but she decides to scoff. “No and who knows Calum. I’m not someone who lets people walk all over her without consequences.” She smiles up at me and I feel my chest warm up - the same feeling I have felt all summer while I was around her.

“Tonight?” I ask hopefully while I let her hands go, taking a step back. “Can’t. Have to help my mom with the basement.”

I can feel my heart drop into my shoes that she might blow me off every single suggestion I make. “But how about this weekend? I’m free Friday night.” She chuckles when she sees the humongous grin that probably will remain for the rest of the day.

“I’ll make time. I’ll see you then?” I grin taking a few steps back towards the doorway as I watch her grin shyly, nodding her head. “Great.”

**************

“I’m sorry I’m late. Got held up at the boys.” I sheepishly grin as soon as Y/n opens the door. The small smile playing on her lips shows me that she isn’t angry with me. “Where do you wanna go?”

“Well, I told you I’d show you around, didn’t I? So, let’s start with something to eat at one of my favourite places.” I start guiding her towards my car to start a night she hopefully would forgive me with and would be unforgettable all the same.

“This is the best pizza I’ve ever tasted! I think I’m in love.” Y/n mumbles with a mouth full of pizza, nodding her head along to emphasise her words. “Well, eat up. Because I have ice skating planned after.” I wink at the beautiful girl in front of me and her face lights up immediately. She shoves another bite of pizza past her lips before she drops the crust onto her plate.

“Let’s go then. I’m excited to see what you have in store. I can’t skate though.” She purses her lips and I chuckle, shaking my head as I stand up. While I hold out a hand for her to take, I speak. “Maybe that way you will be too busy to laugh at me falling flat on my ass.” It draws a high pitched giggle from her lips as she winds her arm around my biceps, pulling me closer.

“Believe it or not, I missed you.” I feel my heart constrict as she speaks the words and don’t speak up, just press her closer towards me.

Ice skating went just as I expected it would go. I was a complete and utter failure, while all of a sudden she decided to find a knick at it. It was nice to hear her laugh so heartily and carefree. If hearing that some more meant me falling down an awful lot more than necessary, I’d do it over and over again. It would also mean I would feel pretty sore at practice tomorrow.

“Well, I had an amazing night. Thank you.” Y/n mumbles as she ties her own shoes back up and raises to her feet, wiggling from leg to leg in front of me. “Who said the night was over yet?” I grin up, raising to my own feet so I could return the skates. “What do you mean?”

“There’s something I’d like to show you. Nothing all too special.” I pull her along for the short walking distance uphill. I already feel my heart hammering in my chest although I don’t know why, when I take the last few steps up to the edge.

“Oh my god, Calum. This – this is amazing.” The twinkling lights of the city does itself justice. It seems a bit magical, maybe even movie-worthy as both of us stand there, enjoying the scenery. “This concludes the end of our tour. Thank you for choosing Calum Tours.” I proclaim proudly, turning towards Y/n as she bursts into a fit of giggles.

“You’re such a moron. Thank you for this, it’s beautiful and I really enjoyed myself.” Y/n smiles at me, her hands curling around my arm as she sneaks closer towards my frame. The wind was picking up and the night was setting it – it was turning harshly cold rather soon. We had to leave shortly. “Any time.”

“So, aren’t you going to kiss me?” Y/n questions as her gaze keeps locked on the twinkling lights, smirk covering her lips. She doesn’t have to tell me twice.

Rhetorical Ink Reviews: Beauty and the Beast (2017 Live Action)

**Careful for SPOILERS below**

I will be the first to admit that I’m a HUGE Beauty and the Beast fan. I had the book as a kid, wanted to be Belle, and have had a large fascination with the story and believe it spurned me into wanting to draw more.

So, the Live Action adaptation had HUGE shoes to fill for me before even going in. I tried to look at the film as a standalone and not judge it based on the predecessor…a VERY hard task when watching, I might add.

My best friend saw it with me and she loved it! What did I think? Well, putting ten thoughts alone would not do my favorite childhood movie justice. So instead, I am doing a Top Ten Likes and Top Ten Dislikes. Careful for spoilers!

My Top Ten Likes of Beauty and the Beast (2017):

10. The set and costumes: Everything has layers and detail and colors that pop but also makes sense for the time period. I LOVED the costumes and even the yellow gown, considering the wardrobe “makes it” in this, grew on me quickly. As for the sets? They are beautifully ornate and have a classic “other worldly” look to them. I could watch the movie over and over to gawk at the scenery and character designs.

9. The Opening Scene: Nothing will ever live up to the deep voice of the narrator and the stained glass…but there was something so fresh about how we started on the Prince, how the dance unfolded, and how the Enchantress appeared. She looked gorgeous and the classic French scene was a welcome addition (more so than others…but we’ll talk of that soon). In any case, it is a worthy contrast from the beginning, when he’s surrounded by beautiful girls, to late when there’s only Belle.

8. Kevin Kline as Maurice: Kevin Kline is a fine actor, and he brings such a charm and dignity to the formerly bumbling character. I still like Maurice in the animated movie, but it makes more sense for Belle’s father to be an artist and hopeless romantic than a “world famous inventor.” Kline’s performance was a highlight for me and definitely added to the movie as a whole.

7. “Kill the Beast!” I’ll talk more about some other songs below, but this was by far my favorite number; this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for with this song in live action form. It does not disappoint. Speaking of “Kill the Beast…”

6. We see Gaston and Lefou learning where the castle is: A big question I had as a kid was, “How did they know where to go to find the Beast?” In this, we get our answer. Lefou and Gaston actually follow Maurice to the woods, where he believes he can route them to the Beast’s castle. This backfires on him, but in any case we learn how Gaston and Lefou knew where to go in the first place.

5. Belle is more an inventor….and a teacher: It makes sense for Belle to be as learned as she is to be more of the inventor. I loved the little scene where she does her own laundry with the contraption she made and is trying to teach a little girl to read. After having to sit through a preview for a CGI movie where the boy character is an inventor and the girl, lo and behold, wants to just be a dancer…it’s nice to see “ahead of their time” people represented in a modern movie’s version of a classic time period.

4. Lefou paying off the people to dance and help during “Gaston:”

It was a little tidbit to note for the film, but Lefou pays off the people to help dance in the “Gaston” music number; and Belle does pay for the food in the market she gets. It’s little touches like that which help to cement this story in a more “realistic” world.

3. The ensemble of side characters:

This entire cast was well-chosen. Josh Gad as Lefou? Perfection; he was born for the role! Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts?  She’s about as close to Angela Lansbury as you can get for this role, I feel. Ewan McGregor as Lumiere? I was on the fence about this casting, but it works so well. Luke Evans as Gaston? He fits the part great. Sir Ian McKellan as Cogsworth? Again, I had no clue what to think, but he may have been my favorite in the whole side cast. Even Stanley Tucci and the Wardrobe’s actress were great choices. They really did a perfect job casting the side characters…but as for the main characters…

2. Dan Stevens as The Beast/The Prince:

This WAS perfect casting! I know they’ve altered the voice and distorted it to sound similar to the animated Beast. But seriously, the motion capture work on his face and his range of emotion are perfect here. It’s hard to believe, but I care more for his character as the Beast than the animated (for reasons below); plus, the main thing: He looks SO much better as the human Prince. From the opening to the end scene, he may be my favorite character, actor, and part of the film. Definitely a genius casting choice and excellent performance!

1. All of the added scenes of Belle and The Beast learning about one another:

If I had one, minuscule complaint with the original Beauty and the Beast, it is that we don’t get many scenes of Belle and the Beast “falling in love” and getting to know one another. He saves her, gives her a library, and then they just sort of fall in love post-dance…obviously, it’s not a huge issue, since you’re pacing this out in movie format.

However, I feel this movie allowed more time for these two to connect. Also, they found common ground; first, with their love of literature, but second, with losing their mothers and how their father’s shaped who they were: The Prince’s with hate, and Belle’s with love. It was a beautiful duality and connection created between them and it helped to make the ending better and more satisfying.

Of course, especially considering the movie is based on a staple of my childhood, it CERTAINLY has flaws, as noted below.

My Top 10 Dislikes of Beauty and the Beast (2017):

10. The obvious Enchantress:

I do like the twist of The Enchantress being Agathe, a character we see throughout the story…perhaps she’s keeping the magic strong? However, there are a lot of problematic elements of her being in the movie so much. For one thing, she saves Maurice, which is good, but then when Maurice confronts Gaston, she doesn’t do anything. She could have stopped all of our conflict! Also, at the end, while she shows up and it does make sense in a technical sense…she just vanishes. Belle doesn’t even see her…what was the point? In the animated movie, the spell was broken without her having to be there. Having her there didn’t answer questions; it created more! It just seemed awkward at times.

9. Gaston’s “post-war” blood rage?

While I appreciate them trying to flesh out Gaston’s character…this was their choice? He’s got post-war bursts of rage? I love how the animated movie treated Gaston just as the jerk-bro who becomes jealous and can’t stand that Belle chooses someone over him. Here, his villainous outbursts are “justified” by his post-war blood lust. It just seemed almost like a distraction and didn’t seem warranted for me. Gaston is a near-perfect villain. Let Luke Evans do a good job of playing him without trying to make him too complex. Gaston’s not smart enough for that.

8. The unnecessary additional songs:

Maybe I’m in a minority here, but I wasn’t crazy about the new songs. The Soundtrack of Beauty and the Beast is nearly flawless. Even the special edition with “Human Again” is okay. The Broadway songs they add…are okay. “Evermore” is not a terrible song (we’ll talk more about it below), but the song about “Sunny skies” and “Evermore” are not necessary to make the story better. If you wanted to include them in a “Director’s Cut,” that would have sufficed for me…I just didn’t see the need for them here…again, I’ll touch back on this point twice below.

7. Don’t bring an arrow to a gun fight:

In the original, Gaston was a hunter, so it made sense he had multiple weapons at his disposal. It also made sense for the time period. And he hunted a lot of deer-like animals, so it seemed fitting that he would shoot an arrow at the Beast and then stab him with a knife….hunting tools for the type of game he hunted.

In this? We just full blown (literally) gun the Beast down. Gaston shoots the Beast three times in the climax. At the very least, he still uses a club like the original. It just seemed like overkill and to me, didn’t make as much sense as keeping like the original would have.

6. The rushed beginning and scenes out of place:

The opening, I loved; however, once that scene was over, the first thirty minutes seemed SO rushed! They rushed through “Belle,” then moved some scenes around, and quickly went through the reprise! There wasn’t the “wedding proposal” scene with Gaston and Belle! I did LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the reaction of Maurice and Chip, but there were little scenes that were skimmed over and rearranged that just seemed to rush the opening and didn’t let us the audience “settle down” into the film. It’s not until we’re at the scene of Belle running away from the castle that the movie starts to slow down. The editing of the movie in those places was a little disappointing to me.

5. Lefou and the lack of controversy:

Okay, so the last week has been filled with news stories about how Lefou is the first openly gay character in a Disney film. It was a huge source of controversy…but….in all seriousness……you wouldn’t really know that watching this film. It’s clear he cares for Gaston, but the animated picture portrayed that as well. He shares two seconds with a male character at the very end of the movie in a brief dance…but that’s it. All that press and controversy for a tiny scene that seems inconsequential. Eh. Come on, Disney. Commit or not; don’t try to play up something that’s halfway even developed.

4. The Enchantress’s book:

I loved the extra scenes with Belle and Beast developing their relationship over the course of a few scenes. However, one comes out of nowhere and does nothing to the plot as a whole. At one point, the Beast shows her a book the Enchantress gave him as a “joke.” It is able to take them anywhere you think of; and Belle chooses the room she was born in, where her mother dies of the plague. While I DO love a few things about this: the fact that it connects Belle and the Beast more, and it explains what happened to her…it’s never used again. The book is just a one-time only plot device. The scene it was used in was SO out of place! I would have rather Belle had known why her mother died and just talked it out with the Beast than having used this forced book that logically doesn’t fit in with the story.

3. The Beast’s Song, “Evermore:”

I don’t dislike “Evermore,” I don’t…but…in the animated movie, when Belle leaves Beast, he is so heartbroken. He lets out a howl of despair, knowing his only chance of happiness has left him, potentially forever. Here, he immediately bursts into a Phantom of the Opera style musical number. Maybe upon reviewing, I’ll appreciate it. But I loved how the original was so organic and raw…this seemed almost too Broadway and too theatrical.

2. Emma Watson’s facial expressions vs. animated Belle:

I love the original because of the animation, mainly. The expressions and line work showed SO much emotion. Now, I like Emma Watson a lot as an actress. BUT, aside from the wolf scene on….her facial expressions are so subdued. This is most apparent in “Be Our Guest.” Belle in that musical number is in AWE! She is so excited, bewildered, and amazed…but here? She just smiles and watches the show. Granted, Emma Watson would have been watching a Green Screen throughout this; but STILL. She doesn’t even seem in shock or awe…and that I sorely missed in this film. Now, after the wolves attack Belle, Watson’s acting becomes more pronounced. I just wish she could have acted a little more in-character through some of the CGI numbers.

1. The cut out comedy:

When I asked my brother if he was thinking of seeing the movie, he asked about the fight scene at the end:

Brother: “Do they have the part where Lumiere burns Lefou’s butt? Or Cogsworth with the scissors?”

Me: “No.”

Brother: “What?! How could they?”

There is so much physical comedy in the original that works; here, and yes, I understand that it is “physically” impossible some of the things they do, I still was hoping there would be more of the original comedy. For example, Cogsworth taking Belle on a tour of the castle isn’t even in the FILM! “If it’s not baroque, don’t fix it.” SERIOUSLY.

THE VERDICT?

The original is near-perfect for me. Still today, it is the better film. If you love the original and are expecting a closely faithful adaptation; they try, but it’s a miss there, because some of the best parts are either condensed or left out.

If you love Beauty and the Beast, but you’re comfortable with them altering parts and want to see new additions to the story? You’ll probably like this!

The original is still better though. If you don’t want to spend the $10 at the theatre, just wait until the DVD or Blu-Ray comes out and watch the original in the meantime.

If you’ve never seen the original Beauty and the Beast? PLEASE watch that one first; it’s better. If you’ve already seen the live action one? STILL go view the animated version; you’ll appreciate it more.

I ended up including some reports notes because I thought they were cute / important but if it’s really too confusing to read, just tell me so I’ll remove them and keep it simple.

I had the huge honor and chance to be there and had an amazing seat.
I’m so grateful despite all the complaints I’ve made (french side ? lol), and that is one of my best memory of my life ! (T_T) ♥

I hope you’ll enjoy it !
Just for this one PLEASE DON’T REPOST (only reblog) !!

Hey there’s a movie called They Look Like People and the scenery is really beautiful??

Also the main character has an unidentified psychotic disorder and:

- he isn’t portrayed as perfect but definitely not portrayed as the villain

- abliesm is in there, but it’s realistic and not in a strawman way at all

the man has a real scary delusion and ends up acting strange in other people’s eyes, so theu treat him poorly and physically / verbally hurt him

- even the supportive people are rather abliest unknowigly, but that’s.. pretty realistic too tbh?

- the movie centers around his delusions and hallucinations, but also the relationship and fun he has with his new roommate

- again, REALLY pretty scenery

Personally I found it relatable, but if you don’t then that’s okay too! I suggect not watching any trailers because it usually spoils the movie, but you can find it on netflix!

WATCHED

I haven’t done a multi-poster ‘watching’ post in forever. I added even extra posters than the 10 limit on images, just to be celebratory!

And just saying this movie was brilliant. End of.

My Dad loved it. And that’s important, because he doesn’t like or understand fantasy/superheroes movies all that well.

My mom loved it, cried at the end.(No spoilers here)

And I was mind-blown with ecstatic energy. I was explaining the old 70s Wonder Woman to my dad who doesn’t remember it because of neurological issues. I explained the comics, the Greek gods to my dad. We’re bilingual so I had to use other words to help clarify things.

I even paused it a few times to talk… I couldn’t help myself, it was just so much fun and extremely energetic, and downright beautiful cinematography and scenery.

And obviously the soundtrack is excellent.

This movie is like 15/10 in my book.

I love Gal Gadot by the way.❤

Can we just take a moment to remember Rise of the Guardians? This is probably my favorite movie of all time, but very underrated. Dreamworks called this a ‘Failed Movie’ but, THE ANIMATION WAS VERY VERY GOOD FOR ITS TIME. THE SCENERY WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND STILL GIVES ME LIFE.
