and the rest is not bad either :)

spaceprincelance  asked:

what about altean body marks or tattoos? i think that might be a neat idea, especially since it seems as though they already have the marks on their face, why not the rest of the body?

i used this as an excuse to doodle allura in a crop top i’m sorry

Also in regards to Coran, i’m thinkin he might have a tattoo hidden somewhere that he doesn’t want anyone to see. Not that it’s bad it’s just he got it when he was a teenager and it’s embarrassing. Either that or he has a massive one on his back that he thinks is super cool and tough.

the most notorious thing about the rising signs

**Please notice that planets in the first house can affect heavily the archetype I’m describing, as well as the position of the ruling planet

Requested by @loveisxruthlessgame, hope you like it!

aries: even if they are not very loud or sociable you’ll probably find something that just feels “right” about them. You can see they are not the type to stand back and let you mistreat them. They can also surprise you (especially if they are a bit shy) when they make the first move with the security and daring nature only an aries can have. As to their appearance, they usually have wide foreheads that can give them a child like look and lean bodies (if you’re a girl you may not have exaggerated curves).

taurus: their nose will probably stick up to you the most, they usually have wide, button noses and half lidded eyes. If not, their voice could also be the most unique thing about them, having a calming and aesthetic quality. These natives usually have wide bodies as well and a stable and slow aura about them. They have something that makes them appealing and attractive, even if no one can exactly pinpoint what.

gemini: you’ll immediately notice their fast paced nature, and if you’re more of the relaxed type you may not like it. They jump from one topic to the other, from one place to the other, they can’t be still for the lives of them! Gemini risings are usually lithe and not very tall, and there’s a sharp, foxy quality to their faces. They can go from super sociable and talkative to quiet and grumpy in a second. Pretty hands!

cancer: the first thing you’ll probably notice about these people are their eyes, maybe not because of their size or color but because of their expressiveness. Cancer rising’s eyes bring you calm and a sense of melancholy, you’ll probably wonder if they’re okay more than once. There’s also a sense of protection and receptiveness around them, whether they make you want to protect you or you feel protected around them. Round faces and traditionally feminine bodies!

leo: you’ll notice them as soon as they enter the room. There’s a confident aura around them and feline eyes that scan the place almost predatorily. Loud laughs and being unapologetically themselves is the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions a leo rising. Drama is their thing, so if you wanna be with someone chill, maybe leo risings are not for you. Their hair usually grabs attention the most but they can have strong noses as well.

virgo: virgo risings have a fresh, natural appearance to them, and it’ll probably catch you eye, as well as their fair features and feminine aura. Even in guys you can sense something very sensitive and gentle about them. They are very clean people and they expect the same from others. The best hands around with gemini tbh.

libra: their charm. They are effortlessly well liked wherever they go (even if they fuck up later) and are conventionally attractive most of the time. They usually have perky butts (god forgive me lmao) and delicate torso. Some of them just give a bad vibe and you don’t know why. Others seem very polite and have smiles to die for. Makes me think of bodies like Venus in The Birth of Venus by Botticelli.

scorpio: a brooding look is usually what separates them from the rest (picture Jon Snow tbh), as well as the mysterious “bad boy/girl” aura and a strong intimidation, you’ll probably be kinda afraid to talk to them. You feel attracted to them, even if you don’t know why, they got magnetism. Piercing eyes holy shit. Sex appeal, like duh. Look like they are hiding something.

sagittarius: these risings have an easy going, non judgmental (even if later you realize they are lol) aura to them. There’s an exaggeration to their appearance, they either have big facial features (big eyes, big lips, big everything), super curvy bodies, or super tall with long arms and legs. There’s always something unique about them, that would make you recognize them in a sec, wether it is their laugh, their voice, etc. Gain weight easily.

capricorn: i n t i m i d a t i n g. You know they have their shit together and they won’t take yours. They appear very controlled and with a strong presence, you immediately know they are someone you can rely on. Appearance wise they have a bone structure to die for and are usually pretty small and/or skinny. Can look pissed off even if they aren’t.

aquarius: unique appearance, they don’t look from this world and believe me you will know they’re an aquarius rising when you see them. They usually have assymetrical features and sparkling eyes. Besides that, their eccentric antiques will be another immediate indicator. A bit intimidating too. The type of person that dyes their hair in fun colors and dresses however they like without giving a fuck about other’s opinions.

pisces: another otherwordly rising, but this because they always look like they are somewhere else. Their eyes are dreamy and their features soft and sweet. You’ll probably idealize them and consider them the sweetest and most innocent people ever (even if they aren’t) as soon as you meet them. Just like cancer you wanna ask them if they are okay 24/7 lol. Their e y e s omg. Plump bodies and easily gain weight. Makes me think of freckles.

List Of Alternate Universes

Alternate Universe (also known as alternate reality), is commonly abbreviated as AU and it is a descriptor used to characterize fanworks which change one or more elements of the source work’s canon. The term most often refers to fanfiction, but fanart can also depicted the characters in AUs.

Unlike regular fanfiction, which generally remains within the boundaries of the canon set out by the author, alternate universe fiction writers like to explore the possibilities of pivotal changes made to characters’ history, motivations, or environment.

  • Alien Invasion AU – In which the story deals with an alien invasion when canonically it does not ever happened.
  • All Human AU – In which characters who are canonically non-human are now humans, with corresponding changes to their backstories.
  • Alpha/Beta/Omega AU – Often referred to as A/B/O or even Omegaverse. It is a growing trope of AUs originated in kinkmemes in which characters can be Alphas (dominant males or females), Betas (ordinary working class), or Omegas (submissive males or females).
  • Android AU – In which the main character or most of the cast are turn into androids that serve different purposes, such as bodyguard, solider, caregiver and so on. In other cases it becomes something similar to Absolute Boyfriend (Zettai Kareshi) where they are mail order androids that can be order online or from a cataloged. If not, they may have originally been human but turn into an android for whatever reason.
  • Angel/Demon AU – When angels and demons exist (in the case of canons that don’t have them) or a character is recast as one of them. However, these kind of AUs don’t necessarily have to have both beings in the story as some tend to focus on only one of them.
  • Arranged Marriage AU – Similar to the Marriage Law AU, only the difference is that not all the characters are required to be married. It is mostly focused on only one pairing and it is usually a pairing that wouldn’t normally get together such as crack ships or doomed ships. In some stories it is a plausible idea, but in others it is not.
  • Bakery AU – When most of the cast of a story works at a bakery while the rest are customers.
  • BDSM AU – Is when the entire cast is either a dominant or a submissive and BDSM relationships are considered the norm. Be advised that while a healthy BDSM relationship is consensual and not dangerous, if handled incorrectly it can result in abusive behavior which is offensive and considered bad BDSM etiquette.
  • Bookstore AU – When most of the casts works at a bookstore. If not, usually a few of the characters work there, while the rest of them are customers. Another version is the Library AU, in which one or two of the characters are librarians, while the rest of the cast spend their time looking for particular books.
  • Business AU – In which the story is set in a building and the characters are employees. Sometimes it is focus on one character who works as a secretary and another character as their boss.
  • Circus AU – In which the story is set in a circus and the characters are circus performers or customers.
  • Coffee Shop AU – Also known as Barista AU. In most cases, one half of the main pairing is the barista and the other is or becomes their favorite customer; in some stories the whole cast works at a coffee shop.
  • Crime AU – In which the characters of a story are various type of criminals, such as burglars, bank robbers, gangsters, drug dealers, smugglers, hitman/fixer and so on. This AU focuses on their criminal lives. It is similar to the Mafia AU.
  • Darkside AU – Is when the canon villain of the story succeeds in their mission and the AU story focuses on the outcome of it.
  • Desert island AU – Or an uninhabited island AU, in which a character or most of the characters of a story are trapped on a deserted island, usually from being shipwrecked or their plane crashing.
  • Dystopian AU – Is set in a dystopian society that is not the original setting of the canon.
  • Fairy Tail AU – In which canon characters are put into situations and/or settings from fairy tales, such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty,  Little Red Riding Hood, etc.
  • Fantasy AU – In which the story takes place in a fantasy universe where magic or magical abilities is normal, technology is nonexistent and supernatural creatures exist.
  • Flower Shop AU – Similar to the Coffee Shop AU and the Bakery AU, but instead the entire cast works in a flower shop. Or one of the characters works there and the rest are customers.
  • Genderswap AU – In which one or more characters in the story switch binary sexes, such as depicting a male character as a cis woman.
  • Harem AU – Or Reverse Harem AU is when a story that doesn’t contain any polygamous or love triangle relationships turns into one. Usually the main character has something happen to them that attracts the other characters to them, be it from a love potion, experimental perfume, spell gone wrong, and so on.
  • Haunted House AU – Or Haunted Castle AU, in which a character moves into a new home or castle and doesn’t know that it is haunted (usually by a ghost, sometimes a demon or some other type of creature) or they are dared by their friends to spend the night in it.
  • High School/College AU – In which the characters are shown in high school or in college together. They are often done with characters who canonically meet later in life, altering or entirely overwriting their original backstories. Similar to this AU is the Boarding School AU and the Elementary School AU.
  • Hogwarts AU – In which the characters from other stories are placed into the setting of Harry Potter. These can be coexistent with Harry Potter canon, or ignore it entirely. But they are often portrayed as students of Hogwarts instead of teachers that work there.
  • Hospital AU – In which the characters of a story are doctors, nurses and patients in a hospital (sometimes it is set in an asylum).
  • Hooker AU – Where one or more of the characters is a sex worker. The more common is the Pretty Woman-type fantasy of a hooker with a heart of gold, rescued from life on the streets by a client. Sex work of all kinds is portrayed: brothels, escorts, street prostitution, “call-girls” as well as strippers and go-go boys. Most of the time one character of the pairing is the hooker and the other the client, though some stories have both characters as prostitutes (sometimes along with other canon characters, in either a brothel-type setting or living on the streets).
  • Hunger Games AU – In which characters from other stories are competitors in the Hunger Games.
  • Ice Cream Shop AU – When the casts works at an ice cream shop. Possibly one of the characters owns it, while the rest are employees or customers.

  • Master/Slave AU – In which the cast are place in an universe where slavery is an accepted economic and cultural institution. Some stories treat this as a significant moral problem to be resisted and overthrown if possible; others treat slavery as an unchangeable institution.
  • Merpeople AU – Or also known as Undersea AU, in which a story is set in the ocean and the characters are turned into mermaids and merman. Sometimes it’s focus on only one character that becomes a mermaid or merman and another character that is a human. When it’s the latter the AU usually turns into a Little Mermaid type of story.
  • Modern AU – In which characters from a historical (or pseudo-historical) canon universe are placed into a modern setting.
  • Monster AU – In which the characters are changed into non-human creatures, such as Incubus/Succubus or other kinds of monsters.
  • No Human AU – Also known as Animal AU, is the opposite of All Human AU, in which characters that are canonically human are now non-humans.
  • Noir Detective AU – In which the characters are put in a typical ‘40s or '50s film noir environment. Or sometimes as a homage towards the style, in which the characters are still their canon selves, but plot or aesthetics are given a noir slant.
  • Opposite AU – In which canon personalities and backstories are swapped out with an opposite versions of themselves. Such as a quiet shy character may become loud and outgoing.
  • Pacific Rim AU – In which the characters are put into the world of Pacific Rim (most often as Jaeger pilots). This AU gained popularity due to the concept of Drift Compatibility that made for excellent shipping interactions.
  • Pen Pal AU – Is when two characters (who have met in canon) have not met each other in this AU. Sometimes they live in the area and other times they don’t live on the same continent. Usually it is their school that sets them up as pen pals. If not, it is because one of the characters writes a letter to the wrong person/wrong address or they accidentally texts the wrong person.
  • Pirate AU – When the whole cast are pirates and it is focus on shipboard life, usually it is set in early nineteenth-century Europe. Sometimes it’s pirates in outer space.

  • Royalty AU – Where one or more characters (who canonically aren’t) are members of a royal family. This usually goes hand in hand with a historical period, featuring a Medieval AU or Regency AU, although some works are set in Modern times or even the Future.
  • Single Parent AU – In which a character has a child or becomes a parent in someway and raises them on their own.
  • Soulmates AU – Is when two (or more) characters are fated to be together, sometimes through multiple lives and/or into the afterlife. Sometimes but not always, the pairing might have a characteristic or tell to help them find each other, such as identical or complementary birthmarks, tattoos, scars, or an invisible string that ties to their other half which becomes thicker and shorter the closer they get to them. Some stories only need a character to hear (or just see) their soulmate to know who they are.
  • Space AU – Where a fandom that is canonically set on Earth becomes set in outer space.
  • Spy AU – Also known as Secret Agent AU or Espionage AU. The whole cast is turned into spies, sometimes they work for the same organization, government or they operate independently. Other times the AU is focused on only one or two characters that are the spies.
  • Superpowers AU – In which the characters have superpowers and are either heroes and/or villains.
  • Steampunk AU – In which a story is turned into a futuristic/sci-fi version of a 19th Century, usually Victorian or Edwardian containing clocks, gears, springs, steam power, analog computers, airships, etc.
  • Vampire/Werewolf AU – In which vampires and werewolves exist (in the case of canons that don’t have them) or a character is recast as a vampire or werewolf. However, these kind of AUs don’t necessarily have to have both species as some tend to focus on only one kind.
  • Victorian AU – In which characters from a modern or future-set story are relocate to a stereotypical Victorian romanticism era.
  • Western AU – In which the characters are transplanted into the “Old West”; or sometimes, especially in science fiction stories a Space Western equivalent, which may involve a western-type plot without horses and cattle ranches.
  • Wonderland AU – In which the story and the characters are turned into their own version of “Alice in Wonderland”.
  • Zombie Apocalypse AU – Also know as Zombie AU. In which stories that don’t contain an zombie apocalypse have it happen to them.

Note: This isn’t a complete list of AUs, but I will keep updating it whenever I come across something new (or someone lets me know what I’m missing). Also, keep in mind that sometimes an AU story is combine with others elements. For example, instead of the very common story about the characters attending a high school in modern times, it can be a magical school set in an futuristic world.

Character-Building Tips

- Unopinionated characters might seem likeable or diplomatic to you, but they’re boring to the audience. Your characters may choose not to take sides in certain matters (ex. their parents’ divorce, a fight between friends, etc), but they have to believe in some things. And opinionated characters make opinionated audiences, and that means interested and emotionally-invested audiences.

- Write any scenes that stumble into your mind and enchant you, even if you think (or know) those scenes probably won’t end up in the final draft. No matter what you do with them, those scenes will still tell you something about your character(s), and that will enrich the rest of your story.

- Make risky characters. If you think your character might offend your audience or a certain part of it, write your character anyways. It could be a bad character with good views about certain subjects or vice versa, but either way it will show three-dimensionality.

- If you’re having trouble with your character being realistic or 3D, get to the root of their person. Don’t ask “what drives them as a plot device?” but “what drives them as a person?” – if you know their motivations as a person, their purpose in the plot will surface.

- Stay away from stereotypes, unless you’re writing a comedy.

Hope this helps. - @authors-haven

CONCEPT TIME:

what about a thing where coran, pidge, and hunk take the tech from keith’s BoM suit and reengineer it to make like. a simulator thing where someone can go in and they’ll face either their deepest fears or their deepest desires (or both) depending on the settings. so allura decides to have the paladins go into the simulator and face their fears, in an attempt to make them get over whatever they’re afraid of so that it’s less likely to cause problems in battle. they draw straws to see who has to go first and lance draws the short straw so he’s sent into the sim, with the rest of the team watching. his first couple of fears aren’t too bad, lance deals with them okay, but then. the whole team appears and he’s being told that he’s ‘not good enough to be a paladin, lance. you can’t fight, you’re a terrible pilot, and you’re insanely annoying. we’ve all agreed that voltron would be better off with another blue paladin’. the actual paladins are watching him essentially have a panic attack and trying to get allura to turn the sim off but she’s. ruthless lmao. he eventually gets through that one, after a good five minutes of lance begging and crying and trying to convince the team that he’ll do better, and then it’s on to lance in a galra base, obviously on an important mission, and totally botching it. his mistake causes him to have to watch his teammates die, one by one, and then the scene changes and it’s not only his teammates but his family too. and lance totally breaks down. he’s on the floor sobbing and screaming, and the team can see him tugging on his hair and digging his nails into his skin, drawing blood and everything. hunk has to practically drag him out of the room to the medbay. he refuses to be put in the pod, not so much verbally as just struggling against it, so they have to patch him up manually. he doesn’t move from his bed in the medbay for two days. he doesn’t speak for three. and even after that, he seems to look right through everyone for weeks

Angel the series rewrite where when Charisma Carpenter winds up pregnant, instead of writing… what they did… they write a story where Cordelia had entirely consensual sex with Groo (turns out their magical prophylactic only prevented the visions transferring, not pregnancy) and has a basically normal pregnancy. The big bad for season four is summoned Literally Any Other Way. Cordelia never goes into a coma or dies. Instead she joins Wolfram and Hart with the rest, and she’s juggling being a working mom to a half-demon baby through the final season and it’s hilarious and awesome. She’s like an amazing dragon mom. All the zany baby stories are perfectly apt metaphors for actual parenthood, with just minor comedic magical emphasis. She doesn’t die at the end of the series either. She just fucking lives to fight and be a cool mom.

I’m not writing to you to tell you what you’ve done wrong. No, I think we moved past that point. Today I’m writing to you to tell you what you deserve.

You deserve to love someone who is ready to get lost in your eyes, who embraces your flaws and your quirks, who laughs at your horrible jokes like I did and who smiles in between kisses. You deserve someone who makes you smile so big that your cheeks hurt, someone who picks up the phone for you in the middle of the night and who’s there to hold the pieces of your world together when you feel like everything around you is falling apart.

And I’m so sorry.

I’m so sorry I couldn’t give you what you wanted and I’m sorry you weren’t what I expected. I know it’s not my fault and I know it’s not yours. Let’s put the blame on something we can’t control like bad timing or too much work or the weather, maybe? Something that makes us feel less responsible for ending something beautiful. Something that makes us remember a wonderful time for exactly what it was: talking deep into the night, stained coffee cups and dancing in the rain.

Even though it ended (not on good terms, either) I just wanted to wish you well. The happiness we had is the happiness you deserve for the rest of your life. I just wanted you to know. And I hope you never forget on nights that are too short and days that are too long for you to remember.

—  an open letter to you

The sight of (Name) and Draco Malfoy turned heads. The mere thought of (Name) and Draco Malfoy turned heads.

(Name), perhaps the most loyal, caring, and kind girl anyone would ever know somehow ended up head over heels for Draco Malfoy. She would follow him around, a sweet smile never faltering. He would look pretty content with himself, arms linked with (Name’s) own. It didn’t take much to realize that (Name) was very attractive in a dreamy, almost fantasy like way. In fact, multiple men and women had asked for her affections. She only replied with a sweet smile and a polite rejection, claiming she already had a boyfriend.

Draco was no idiot. He knew that many people wished to have his girlfriend for themselves.

At first he merely got jealous at this. How dare someone fantasize over his girlfriend?!

As days grew into weeks, and weeks grew into months, his jealousy turned into pride. She was another thing he had that many people, including Harry Potter, didn’t have.

The two started off hopelessly in love. Starry eyes and rosy cheeks were exchanged. Longing looks and sweet messages were sent back and forth.

Over time, Draco became more and more distant. However, (Name) stayed the same, remaining completely infatuated with him. Draco, from a first glance, didn’t seem to be as in love with (Name) as she was with him.

The First Month.

Of course, like many couples, (Name) and Draco had a phase where nothing else seemed to matter but the two of them and their love for each other. It was almost as if they couldn’t be apart from one another or they would fall ill.

“Draco! Draco, come here!” (Name) chirped with the same giddy smile playing at her cheeks.

“Yes? (Name), what is it? Are you injured?” His voice was frantic and shaky. (Name) laughed and shook her head. “No, silly!” She spread her arms out wide. “Come here!”

Draco did so with a smile, leaning into her embrace. “What is all this about?”

“Mmm… Nothing, really. I just wanted to cuddle you. I love you, you know?” Draco chuckled softly and wrapped his arms around her, closing his eyes and savoring the feeling of his beloved breathing softly into his chest. They didn’t seem to notice the dozens of students amongst them stare in disgust, envy, or even admiration.

“And I love you, (Name). Always.”

The Seventh Month.

While (Name) was in fact hopelessly, blindly in love, she was no idiot. She noticed when Draco avoided her affections or avoided her in general. She didn’t pay much attention to it, though. She assumed she was being clingy, and her herself was at fault. Sometimes the two would be together, a joyful smile ever present on (Name’s) face. But she noticed they only ever seemed to be affectionate around each other in front of crowds.

The thought that Draco may be using her crept in the back of her mind. He wouldn’t, would he?

No… He couldn’t. He loved her.

At least… That’s what she told herself.

I have a huge group of mercenaries that I'm building up to write about for a Team Fortress inspired writing, but I'm super conserned on how to make my "sneaky and shifty" spy character of the team. What races/ethnicities would you guys reccomend I avoid putting into this role to avoid the worst negative stereotyping?

Avoiding Stereotypes by Avoiding Tokenism

If you only have one of any particular ethnicity on a team, none of them will avoid negative repercussions.

We’ve spoken about tokenism before, and this is a prime example of why you should avoid it. Having only one member of any ethnicity on a team means all of their traits are representative of their ethnicity, so you’ll be enforcing the worst of the behaviour.

On the flipside, avoiding having the Token PoC be any sort of “meaty” role in fear of avoiding stereotypes denies them their humanity. Part of good representation is letting us be the messy people we are— which includes sometimes doing stuff that fits stereotypes, even if they’re negative. The problem isn’t the “they have negative traits.” The problem is “there’s only one of them of that ethnicity.“

By having 2+ of any one ethnicity, you give people the room to be themselves because there’s another member of the team not like that. It breaks down the unconscious associations between the character’s ethnicity and the negative traits, by removing “of course [character]’s behaving like that, they’re [ethnicity]!” with “but [other character] doesn’t do that, and they’re [ethnicity], too.”

(You will always get people insisting the one who doesn’t behave in the morally reprehensible way is just “one of the good ones”, but this helps cut them down— also why it’s important to have a diverse background cast with similar variety in personality types, jobs, and moral alignments)

Fear and Representation
I’m going to talk about a deeper issue I see here, which is fear of messing up. You don’t want to hurt people by doing it wrong, don’t want to be yelled at for reinforcing negative things.

This fear hurts you more than it helps you.

We get a lot of “how do I avoid stereotypes” questions. We get a lot of “how do I not hurt people” questions. We don’t answer the majority of them because if you write from a place of fear, you will not represent PoC well.

Writing good representation is not handling a bomb that’s about to explode if you press it wrong. Writing good representation is about a curiosity, love, and respect for people not like yourself. You’re curious about their stories and are invested in telling them. You love them as people, as their genuine reality. And you respect them enough to want to do them justice in your writing.

If you approach writing diversity with fear, you will not let us be human. Because by fearing writing us, you end up creating model minorities because you just can’t let them be evil, that’s bad. You other us even further by not letting us have the same internal lives and same shades of experience as white people.

People mess up. People have complex morality. Not letting us mess up or have other moral alignments than goodie two shoes strips us of our personhood.
Put all types of us into your stories. Some things you Don’t Do— like Jewish blood mages and Natives who are so much simpler but so much happier because of it— but if you approach us like people with different backgrounds, you’re at least on the right track. And if you make it that multiple people of the same ethnicity exist, then you don’t have to worry about one character being the be all end all of representation.

The thing about these types of questions— “what stereotypes do I avoid"— is you’re not really asking What Do I Not Do. You’re asking "can you tell me what to do so I don’t get yelled at for it”, as if there are magic lists of 100% Safe Traits for different ethnicities.

Safe Traits are not people. Until you ease down your fear of being Safe, of Not Reinforcing Bad Things With One Character, you will not be able to truly tackle representation in your work. The work you have to do is much deeper than putting in “acceptable representation.”

You have to redefine “acceptable representation” in your mind. It cannot mean “a character who is safe to write without hurting anybody.” What it can mean, however, is “showing the diversity of humanity by displaying multiple people having worthwhile, nuanced, dynamic, and messy stories to tell that reflect their lived reality.”

>>  I’m super conserned on how to make my “sneaky and shifty” spy character of the team. What races/ethnicities would you guys reccomend I avoid putting into this role to avoid the worst negative stereotyping?

I’d especially stay away from making this character Jewish since that’s already a stereotype for us, and East Asian since there’s a negative trope about East Asians being “inscrutable” (i.e. “you can’t tell what they’re thinking so they could totes be plotting bad stuff!”)

Standard disclaimer that if you have a cast of many many Jewish characters or many many East Asian characters you can make one of them sneaky because the rest of them will show that it’s not an inherently Jewish (or East Asian) trait, but it sounded like you wanted a variety of ethnicities for this project so probably best just to stay away from making the Spy either of those two groups.

“Even though people may be well known, they hold in their hearts the emotions of a simple person for the moments that are the most important of those we know on earth: birth, marriage and death.”

“I have been through a lot and have suffered a great deal. But I have had lots of happy moments, as well. Every moment one lives is different from the other. The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love, and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life. You cannot separate the good from the bad. And perhaps there is no need to do so, either.”

Bump

Pairings: Steve Rogers x Reader

Warnings: overload of fluff ! Pregnancy, cravings, cute ass Steve

Word Count: 1000

Summary: Steve loves your baby bump

Steve yawned loudly as he slumped into the Avenger’s kitchen, one of his hands rubbing tiredly over his eyes while the other swung a plastic bag from its grip. It was close to one in the morning and he was exhausted, having gotten up at close to the exact time for the last four days in a row. Not that he was ever going to complain about it, you were a whole lot more uncomfortable than he was while in the last stages of your pregnancy and anything that Steve could do to help ease that discomfort he was going to do it.

The last month had been the worst by far, it hadn’t agreed with either of you it seemed. You couldn’t get comfortable in bed, on the couch or anywhere, which ultimately meant that Steve had no rest either. On top of that your cravings had been through the roof, leaving Steve to go on midnight runs to grab the stuff you wanted.

Shaking away another yawn Steve placed the bag down onto the counter, startling a bit in surprise when he saw Sam leaning against the other bench, bottle of water in his hand and a smug smile on his face. He nodded towards the bag with raised eyebrows.
“What was it this time?”
“Salted crackers and peanut butter.”
“That’s not so bad,” Sam shrugged, taking another mouthful of his water.
“No, that’s not so bad,” Steve replied. “You should have seen what she made yesterday however.”
“Okay, what was it?” Sam chuckled.
“She made mash potato with chocolate milk.”

Sam laughed at that, the sound echoing around the quiet room while he ignored the unamused expression on Steve’s face.
“Are you serious? That’s - yeah okay, wow.”
“It isn’t funny!” Steve huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. “I thought she was going to cry when I told her I didn’t want any, I didn’t have any choice but to eat it and I’m telling you right now I’m lucky I didn’t throw the lot back up.”
“I’m so, so glad I missed out on that one.”

Steve was about to open his mouth and reply when he heard feet shuffling across the floor, his eyes meeting yours a second later as you walked into the room; one hand running back through your bed mussed hair while the other cradled your large baby bump. Your bottom lip quivered as you took a shaky breath, Steve in front of you in seconds, his hands rubbing circles across your shoulders.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“N - nothing,” You sniffed, leaning forward until you could press your face against Steve’s chest. “I mean - God, it’s so stupid.”
“Hey, it’s not stupid if it’s upsetting you.”
“It’s just that you weren’t - you weren’t there and baby Roger’s keeps kicking me.”

On the bright side, at least you weren’t pregnant.

I always find it funny when people don’t like a character because he or she doesn’t do the right thing, or they should have done something else that wouldn’t cause pain to the protagonist. If all characters always did the right thing there would be no story. Period. And for some characters, they would have no redemption arc if they didn’t start from a place of negativity.

Today’s case in point: Laura Moon from American Gods

In life, Laura is a deeply unhappy woman who generally feels nothing all the time. She exists. She does things to try to feel anything—huffs bug spray, marries Shadow, sleeps with Robbie, tries to rob the casino where she works. Every awful and good thing she does is to feel something. Anything. Should she have done those super shitty things? Nope. And she knows this. She cops to it, even. It isn’t until she dies and comes back that she finally has the chance to live and to love in an extraordinary way that makes her feel something and she does everything in her power to pursue it. Her journey from there on out is to atone for her first life, to make amends with Shadow because she actually does love him, and now she feels it. She feels so intensely, it makes her strong. Crazy, physically, strong. Strong enough to save Shadow, which she couldn’t have done before.

We aren’t really supposed to like her in the beginning. If we did, the rest of her story would be flat, and her relationship with Shadow would be clichéd and we’d all be yawning.

Don’t like her, but don’t dismiss her either.

A Lesson on Zootopia

With all the attention Zootopia has been getting for its impressive moral-telling, I feel like this needs to be said because a lot of people are missing the point.

Zootopia isn’t about racism or sexism or any other human social conflict that our personal biases would automatically assume who plays the role of the “good guys” and who are the “bad guys”. It isn’t about any of that because they’re animals, not humans.

Zootopia is about prejudice. As in, the general concept. It’s about how prejudice can affect individuals, society, and especially how others can manipulate prejudice for their own gain, whether that be by excluding outgroups from social participation, or perpetuating lies and fear in order to use a state of victimhood to guarantee social privileges.

It’s about how prejudice isn’t a one-way street, that anyone can have it and any group can suffer from it, whether because an individual believes in that prejudice or because the rest of the world tells them they should feel that way.

It’s about individuals taking their individual experiences to demonize an entire group, and considering any exceptions to that rule to be either impossible or irrelevant.

It’s about how prejudice towards anyone, over anything, for any reason is wrong.

Anyone can be anything. Even the so-called good guys can have bad practices. And the point is that we work a little harder everyday to put a stop to those practices, whoever may be behind them.

who should you fight: dirk gently edition
  • dirk gently: he probably won't fight back, but that doesn't mean beating him will be easy. he took two crossbow arrows to the shoulder and kept going for god's sake. besides, why the fuck would you want to fight dirk? he is the sweetest, most pure boy there is and you'll have farah, todd, and amanda to answer to
  • todd brotzman: he's pretty scrappy, but lacks technique. you might be able to beat todd and honestly he might thank you for it
  • farah black: farah is a professional bodyguard, owner of many many guns, and all around bad-ass. you will not win in a physical fight. however, farah is pretty insecure and neurotic so with some emotional manipulation you could maybe win. i would hate you forever though
  • amanda brotzman: she's scrappy as hell, possibly even more so than her brother. unless she has an attack during the fight, it should be a pretty even match. if you fight her though, you'll have to fight all four of the rowdy three so do not fight amanda
  • bart curlish: depends on who you are. if you're a bad person, you'll be killed immediately. if you're a good person, you won't be killed but you likely won't be able to hurt bart either. kind of a lose/lose-worse situation
  • ken: i mean yes you could definitely beat this boy in a fight but why would you want to? let him rest
  • the rowdy three: are you fucking kidding me have you ever seen the rowdy three? do not fight them, you will get obliterated
  • estevez: would not recommend fighting estevez. he's pretty strong and has professional training, and probably works through his emotions by punching things. right now, he has a lot of emotions
  • zimmerfield: honestly it's a bit of a toss up. he's pretty old and i don't think he's gotten that much action in the field recently, but his eyebrows are powerfully hypnotic. do not fight if you get easily transfixed on things
  • gordon rimmer: oh man yeah you could definitely beat gordon rimmer, just make sure he doesn't have the electric crossbow and that his goonies aren't nearby
  • patrick spring: it depends on when you fight him. young patrick spring? probably a bad idea. middle-aged patrick spring with the steamsuit? also a bad idea. old patrick spring? yeah you could probably take him then, he's older and has resigned to death anyway
  • lydia spring: you want to fight a literal child? go ahead i guess, you'll beat her but will get killed by farah
  • hugo friedkin: he's dumb as hell but also pretty jacked and a federal agent. i would not recommend fighting friedkin, unless it's like a reading fight
  • colonel riggins: he's part of the cia but is also an gentle old man. you could definitely beat colonel riggins
  • rapunzel the corgi: what the fuck? why would you want to fight a dog you sick fuck

Something For You

Hi babes! This is a Peter Parker fluff (that starts out smutty) about the reader trying to uncover Spider-Man’s secret identity after he protects her from some creeps one night while she crushes on Peter at school! I hope you like it!

Something For You

When Peter was in her room, even the air felt different. It felt like a fleecy blanket against her skin, all heavy, warm and at times, suffocating. Whatever pieces of fabric that Peter had yet to tear away from her body, she despised. She wanted to take it all off while his head rested against her clavicle, his hair tickling the crook of her neck while he pressed dulcet kisses across her collarbone.

When her grip tightened around his hips, Peter would hitch her legs just a bit higher and his T-shirt would be tossed carelessly to the floor. Her favorite noise would forevermore be the creaks of her headboard smacking against her bedroom wall when their movements became even more erratic, and the little whines that left Peter’s throat when she scratched her nails softly down his bare back, and through his hair. The worships he whispered against her bare skin weren’t half bad either.

The saltiness that came in with Peter when he slipped through her window rubbed into her flesh as their bodies twisted together. Splotches of cherry spilled across the floral expanse of her sheets, but she was too caught up with how low Peter’s kisses were dropping to even think about minding.

Just as Peter’s kiss dropped to her inner thighs and her head dipped back, with her eyes clamped shut, a blaring alarm blasted through her phone’s speakers, halting her dream right then and there. She could’ve screamed in anguish. It was the third time her dreams of Peter had been interrupted by her alarm.

Pulling her body from the plush confines of her bed, her shaky legs walked her down the hallway to prepare for the impending school day. Peter would be there, with his messy hair and kind, brown eyes. If she had any hopes of making her dream a reality, she’d better tame the mess atop her head that she called hair.

As soon as she came back to her room and shut her door, and glanced over to her window, smiling when she’d come across another, not-so-anonymous gift webbed to her window.

About a month or so ago, the famous Spider-Man had saved her from the gruesome clutches of a few creeps as she was walking home from her friends house. Instead of leaving her on the ground after he’d fought them off, he had curled an arm around her waist and used his webs to help her make it home safely. Ever since then, sometimes he would leave small gifts tacked outside her window.

This morning, he had pasted a postcard with a photo of Gustav Klimt’s, ‘The Kiss,’ to her window. A smile graced her lips as she retrieved it, turning it over to see if he had left her a note. In the messiest handwriting the girl had ever come across, Spider-Man had scribbled,

You know who I am, smart girl. Think.

It had been a running joke between the pair. As soon as he had dropped her off and was waiting to ensure that she made it in alright, she had turned on her heel swiftly and claimed that she recognized his voice. She had heard it somewhere before, she was positive, she just couldn’t place it. Now, Spider-Man seemed to tease her about it every chance he got.

Taping the postcard above her bed, the girl went about her morning, rushing to make sure that she wasn’t late her first period of the day.

Peter Parker, on the other hand, was more than alright with skipping his first period. On accident, he had dozed off, leaned against her window pane when he went to drop off ‘The Kiss.’ She had merely looked so peaceful, swaddled in her pink bedspread, and Peter craved that level of calm. He’d do anything to replace her pink sheets, to hold her close to him at night for warmth instead.

Practically falling through his front door, Peter dragged himself up the stairs to his bedroom. He decided that if he slept through his first two periods, he would have time to arrive to school early where he’d run into her in the hallway, and maybe, if he could somehow plunk up the courage, he could walk her to their shared English class.

Their interactions had been sparse. Peter had held the door for her every chance he got, nodding his head and blushing when she’d thank him, a rosy tint spilling across her cheeks as well. She had helped him gather his papers when Flash had knocked them out of his hands numerous times, once even telling him that he was smart when she had spotted one of his physics test scores.

Although, the best interaction that they had ever had was when Peter caught her when she tripped on the stairs. It was within days of him getting bit by the spider, and he was hurrying down the steps while she was rushing up. Peter couldn’t even think of how she took such a nasty spill going upstairs, but before she had the chance to hit the floor, she was wrapped up in Peter’s arms, clutching his jacket with her eyes squeezed shut. She was braced for the impact that never came, and instead, she found herself with her cheek pressed into Peter’s chest.

“Shit, are you alright?” Peter questioned, pulling away to inspect her for any signs of damage. Up close, she was even prettier. She had the love of Aphrodite in her eyes, and when she spoke, not even Tchaikovsky’s music could match the loveliness of her voice.

“Oh gosh, Peter, M’so sorry! I almost took you down too, I’m so sorry!” One of her hands was placed in front of her mouth, while the other grabbed for his hand. “Thank you so much for not letting me fall, I’m literally a walking disaster waiting to happen.”

Peter chuckled, shaking his head and moving his fingers to smooth over the back of her hand, “don’t worry about it, couldn’t just let you fall.” They shifted, each preparing to head in towards their differing locations, “just be careful, yeah? Don’t want you getting hurt.”

She raised her eyebrows, the softness of his laugh reminding her of someone that she couldn’t quite pinpoint, “you’re one to talk,” motioning to his bruises law and bloody lip, “maybe you should be careful too?”

They smiled at each other one last time before heading to their classrooms, but they lingered in each other’s minds for the rest of the day, week and ongoing months. Bashfulness plagued them both, because they hadn’t had a real conversation since then.

When Peter finally awoke from his nap and had made his way to school, he tried to wander the hallway slowly, doing his best to seek her out. He doubted that he would have the courage to talk to her, but Peter would’ve settled for walking behind her. Her hair was so shiny that it would glimmer in the light, she smelled like vanilla and honey, and her bum wasn’t half bad to look at either.

He waited for her until the first late bell rang, and a few moments before the second rang, Peter had been shooed off to class by one of his other teachers. He looked for her once he was seated, thinking it was possible that he’d missed her in the hall, but he couldn’t spot her in class either.

About twenty minutes into the class, she slipped quietly inside, slinking to the back of the room, a few desks behind Peter. He could hear soft sniffles and trembling breaths. At this point, Peter figured out that she was crying. She was late to class because she was crying.

It took everything in Peter to not go to her, get down on his knees, and kiss her tears away. He went out to fight bad guys on a daily basis in a city that wouldn’t ever be without crime, but Peter hadn’t ever felt so useless. Peter would’ve done anything to stop her tears. As soon as the class was over, she rushed out before a word between them was shared.

At lunch, Peter walked past her and her friend’s table and overhead her tearfully explaining how awful a boy she had been tutoring had been to her. Peter decided that Spider-Man would be leaving her a gift that night.

When the sun finally rose the next morning, the girl awoke to a bouquet of red tulips resting against her windowpane, along with a torn-out book page with a highlighted passage that read, “She had a kind heart, though that is not of much use when it comes to the matter of self-preservation.” The closer she looked at the tulips, she saw that Spider-Man had stuck a folded up note into the flower’s paper. It said,

The bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald.

Moving the flowers into a vase, she trekked down to her local library to check out the very book.

Moving through the hallway with his head ducked down, Peter crashed into her the next day at school. She was clutching a copy of ‘The Bookstore’ and a nearly empty coffee cup in her hands and blinked up at him in surprise.

“Peter,” the girl questioned, holding an arm to his chest to steady him, “you seem sleepier than normal today.” Her eyes widened and she took a desperate sip to finish off her coffee, “not that I’m staring at you, ever, or anything. We just have, you know, classes and stuff together.” She felt blush spreading like wildfire throughout her entire body and she shook her head at herself. Leave it to her to let the boy she liked know that she was not only going to bump into him every other day, but that she was also a complete creep who couldn’t keep her eyes off of him.

Peter smiled at her, “late night.” He wished that she would go back to nervously rambling, she looked awfully cute doing so. He tapped the cover of the book that rested in her hands, “I like her stuff, she’s very good. How far are you in?”

“Only the first few chapters, my history exam had me up all night too.” She raised her coffee to her lips once more, taking a slow sip and licking the lid for any caffine that could’ve escaped her body before tossing it into the garbage can.

She and Peter exchanged goodbyes and went through their separate schedules, both doing their best to create a conversation starter for the next day. Peter, taking full advantage of his secret identity, decided that Spider-Man would pay her a visit later on in the night. She seemed to enjoy the masked superheroes’ company, and Peter pondered that it was better he have her in secret than to not have her at all. He remained oblivious to the fact that at lunchtime, she had decoded bits and pieces of the mystery surrounding Spider-Man.

It had clicked in her head just as she had sat down at her table and reopened ‘The Bookshop.’ Peter had cuts all over his face, bruises scattered across his body, not to mention he seemed familiar with the book in which Spider-Man had left her a passage from. Beyond that, when the pair had shared an art class, Peter had been so found of Klimt’s painting that he produced his own spin on the artwork. When Peter laughed, it was too eerily familiar to Spider-Man’s for her to let it go. The girl decided that tonight would be the night that she would stay up and wait for him.

Peter wandered the skies, taking the long way back to where she lived. He’d only visit her after 4 a. m. because one night, Peter had stopped in at 2 in the morning and she was still up and flipping through pages of a novel that he couldn’t identify. When he perched on her windowsill, digging through his backpack to find the sonnet that he was going to web to her window, he found her sitting up in bed, and looking straight at him.

The girl rushed forward, and motioned for Peter to lean back so she could open her window without nailing him in the face with the corner of her window. “Good morning,” she started, taking the boy she hoped and prayed was Peter Parker and pulling him through her window and into her bedroom. “Ask me who I think you are,” a smile teasing her mouth.

Peter gulped, but decided to play along. “Who do you think I am?”

“I think that you’re Peter Parker.” The girl said, leaning up on her tiptoes just as Peter glided his hands across her back to take a firm hold of her waist.

Before he could over think it, Peter yanked off his mask, meeting her gaze full on, “I’m not sure you’re right, miss.” She knew and she didn’t seem disappointed, in fact, she seemed to be angling her lips towards his own, so Peter felt that it would be okay to tease her. He couldn’t get his brain to form anything other than a sarcastic sentence so he figured that he should just go with it.

“You were looking for something,” she asked him, so close now that Peter could feel the heat of her breath on his jawline.

‘Shy love, I think of you

As the morning air brushes the window pane,

And how much time of all it takes to know

The movement of your arm, the steps you take,

The curves along your head, your ears, your hair.

For all of this, each hand, each finger,

Each lip, each breath, each sigh,

Each word and sound of voice of tongue,

I would require an age to contemplate.

But for your heart, your mind, you thoughts, all these,

To love them all I need at least five centuries.’

“I do love Shakespeare,” the girl breathed before Peter crashed his lips down upon her own.

You woke up alone. You were about to rub your eyes until you realized you still had makeup on from last night. Instead, you sat up and allowed your body to wake up a little more. Dangling your legs off the side, you slipped off the bed. The plush carpeting welcomed your feet and you sleepily made your way to the kitchen. Upon entering, you saw Sebastian seated at the island, with a plate in front of him and a full glass of orange juice. There was another empty plate and a glass of orange juice beside him, which you assumed was for you.

Advice on Getting to Know INFPs (like, REALLY getting to know them, like on a deeply platonic or romantic level) Part One

from the perspective of an INFP: yours truly, Anika Ashbourne.

-INFPs are “idea people”. We’d much rather not talk about the football game or bland politics or it is what it is. No, let’s talk about art and potential and possibilities and theories of the universe and favorite books and why this and how that and why not and what if. Stereotypically, we’re wide-eyed innocent children in the bodies of adults who have our head too far in the clouds to ever come down. While that’s quite an exaggeration, we are very imaginative and abstract in our thinking. We love love love new ideas, new concepts, new things to be obsessed with. Because INFPs are constantly on the lookout for, as I like to call them, “things that click”. A puzzle piece falls into place. A door unlocks, and you’re the key, and suddenly you’re our new favorite person in the world and please don’t go away because you mean very much to me for helping me develop myself or my ambitions further. Advice: to connect with an INFP, don’t be a dull-ass, ordinary, out-of-all-the-things-we-could-talk-about-you-choose-to-talk-about-this?! kind of people.

-We can tell what you’re trying to do. Just saying. If you’re trying to impress an INFP, they know. If you’re trying to bring down an INFP, they know. If you’re lying to an INFP, they know. If you’re pushing down your emotions in front of an INFP… Oh god, they know. The thing is, we won’t usually let you know that we know, but we know. We can sense it. We have a way of reading people subconsciously. The thing is, we’re so conscious of how we do things and how different our ways of doing things are from other people’s ways, we start to pick up on exactly how each kind of person tends to do things and what the signs are that they’re doing the thing. We do all this without realizing we’re analyzing you, and it gives us a grip on what we think of you. Advice: be real and as honest as you can to INFPs. Don’t try to trick us, because we’re hard to deceive and you’ll lose all our trust and respect at once. Instead, be sincere and show us you’re worth getting to know, too– which isn’t that hard if you’re being genuine, because we like to really know people, too.

-INFPs are reserved. Yes, we’re the quiet ones in the corner with our notebooks or the kid that never shuts up when they’re talking to friends but never opens their mouth around other people, but it’s more than that. We’re reserved. It takes a while to really get to know an INFP. Some say we’re even more reserved than the INFJs or INTs. This is because we’re open to pain, we let it sting us when it comes and let our emotions flood us so we can taste the tides, but we’d rather avoid it when we can. An INFP that’s been hurt a lot in the past- and, warning, most INFPs have been- is less likely to want to get hurt in the future unless they really believe is worth it. Yes, we’re afraid to get hurt. We are not afraid you’ll hurt us, we are just afraid of the flood that, you have to admit, is sure to come again if you really deeply connect with someone. So we defend ourselves with layers. Hundreds and hundreds of layers, and the longer you stay with us, the more time you spend with us, the more we begin to trust you… those layers peel off. And you’ll know because that’s when we’re incredibly silly around you and fearless in expressing our ideas and we will defend you from every evil thing that comes your way at whatever the personal cost. Until then, we tend to appear as the shy butterfly flittering around on its own, a little ways away from the others. Advice: be patient and be persistent, and earn our trust by being a person we can feel comfortable and happy around.

-INFPs feel everything at an overwhelmingly deep level… or almost not at all. If you hurt us, you’ve either destroyed us for a while or you’ve only chipped a crack in the layered walls of our castle. If you make us happy, we’re basically either tempted to kiss you and be close to you forever and all eternity and return the favor, or we simply appreciate it and move on. In the overwhelming sense, we will remember it for the rest of our lives and we’ll write about it and sing about it and make art about it and let it fuel is in our quests, or we’ve already forgotten it. Advice: I just hope you realize what you’re doing will either have a very long-term affect or no affect at all. If you’re not sure, you can always ask. INFPs are very willing to help you out, especially if it means further developing our own self or yourself, and you can always always just ask them if what you’ve done is good or bad or nothing. And if it’s bad, apologize ASAP and talk to them about it. If it’s good, well done and keep it up!

  • your heart is shattered to pieces, but before you can emotionally collapse, Seven continues.
  • “However, my love! Do not despair. This affords us with an excellent opportunity. Do you know what that is?”
  • You shake your head mutely, and Seven’s grin lights up the room.
  • “I can’t cook either. So together, we’re going to make the worst dish possible, and we’re going to force everyone else to eat it.”
  • It becomes a game. The rest of the RFA thinks you and Seven are unaware of how bad your Ratatouille de Actual Live Rats with Diced Grape Tomato Sauce actually is, and while they’d tell Seven to buzz off, they can’t tell you. So faced with your unending cheer, they eat it.
  • They consume it.
  • You make a corporate heir, a famous actor, and a former secret agent consume your terrible cooking.
  • you are monsters.

V

  • Doesn’t grimace. Doesn’t cower. Doesn’t say a word. He just smiles and says “thank you” when you present him al dente pasta that probably hasn’t actually ever touched water.
  • It’s not a lie. It’s genuine. This man doesn’t care that it’s garbage. You being happy and you trying to make him happy by spending time on something is enough for him.
  • Even when you ruin a slow cooked pot-roast by putting jelly in it.
  • Even then, he still smiles, eats it, and says he loves you.

Unknown (Saeran)

  • Like his twin, he’s also bad at cooking. Unlike his twin, he isn’t going to admit it, and he unknowingly joins you in being a terrifying force in the kitchen.
  • Dishes become exponentially worse when touched by the two of you. Saeran wants to add sprinkles, you want to add frosting, and suddenly your lasagna looks like a birthday cake.
  • “Let’s add candles! It can be dessert.”
  • The person who bears the brunt of your abuse is Seven, who doesn’t have the heart to tell either of you how awful your food is.
  • It culminates in you sending him to the hospital.
  • You’re enrolled in classes after that, becoming a poor home ec teacher’s problem.

Vanderwood

  • Vanderwood wakes up at 3AM to find you sobbing over the stove, its glass top shattered and spices scattered everywhere on the floor.
  • Apparently, you’d been possessed by the fae desire to make gingerbread cookies. Apparently, you were also too short to reach the cinnamon and cloves the recipe called for, and - in your flailing - the glass bottles all spilled out of the cabinet, breaking the stove, hitting you on the head, and scattering all over the floor.
  • In a vacuum, this might be an incidence of clumsy-cute, but you do this constantly. In a previous life you must have angered the god of cooking because kitchen appliances are always trying to kill you.
  • Vanderwood had to save you when you got your hair caught in the mixer. Vanderwood has had to bandage your wounds when you burned yourself on the stove. Vanderwood has had to help you pick up all the groceries from a collapsed fridge, and Vanderwood proceeds to baby-proof the kitchen and ban you from unsupervised cooking.
  • It’s for your own good, they say. I don’t want to come in here and find your decapitated body.
  • there is not a lot you can do in the face of their Motherly Tone.
