Hello~ I love your blog a lot♥️♥️ I am new to shipping Yoonmin, and I heard something about an interview where Yoongi said something (I don't remember shat) and then Hoseok smiling and whispering something to Jimin? Could you please explain what happened? Thank you~♥️

so yoongi had to come up with an acrostic poem and he said something standard like “give me lots of love” and hoseok out of the blue bursts out laughing and ducks his head just so that he can say something to jimin,,, ??????? and as soon as yoongi hears “jimin” he looks over at hoseok and asks him ‘what’s wrong with you’ ?? why are they like this

Hey anon! Thank you so much! I actually do have a Juice fic that I’m writing (in my head at the moment but I’m hoping to get it typed up) as well as a bunch of requests, but I haven’t been well lately and have found it hard to write. But hopefully I’ll be back on top soon and writing again :) In the mean time, have a gif of juicy Juice:

Could the anon point out where in S3 he’s apathetic and indifferent, uncaring and inattentive to Demelza? I’m struggling to recall any instances off the top of my head. Thanks

There are some instances where he’s neglectful or indifference - mostly around haring off to France and leaving her for weeks at a time, and a few in 3.07 with regards to his feelings around social gatherings (it’s never about not loving her, it’s basically around him having different priorities) - BUT my point is that it’s not in the books, and the part of my answer that the anon flagged up was a part where I was referring to the books, and hoping that the show doesn’t stray too far from it.

Why the Rolling Stone's Fansplaining of Harry Styles Misses the Point
Saskia Postema, Contributor

It is safe to say that almost the entire world has recently been exposed to the solo debut of Harry Styles, member of the band One Direction. While he was not the first one to start up a solo project – Zayn Malik left the band in 2015 to pursue a solo career, whereas both Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson released solo material in 2016 – he was, perhaps after Zayn’s dramatic departure, the most hyped and anticipated artist out of the original bandmembers.

It’s been two weeks since Harry released his incredibly successful #1 debut single, Sign of the Times, which leads his self-titled LP that will hit stores on the 12th of May. Subsequently, critics have been quick to write their reviews, labeling the rock anthem as an epic song that establishes Harry as a credible artist. Part of the promotional roll-out of Harry’s debut seems to be centered around the cultivation of that notion: Harry Styles is to be seen as an authentic, honest, yet mysterious, credible musician. Given the fact that Rolling Stone profiles itself as the market-leading music magazine when it comes to crediting such artistry, it was to be expected that a profile and cover issue of Harry Styles would follow suit.

In a companion piece, Rolling Stone published a so-called ‘fansplaining’ column on their website – delving into the fanbase that has supported Harry Styles throughout the years, probably aimed at gauging their reaction to his debut. An interesting take, given the fact that the journalistic lens of Rolling Stone seems to focus mostly around discrediting the opinion of young women, particularly those who have been avid fans of the music that One Direction has put out in previous years, and who have supported Harry and his peers throughout that time. Aside from the fact that such an understanding of music is abhorrently misogynist, as it values the middle-aged white male’s opinion as somehow more legitimate than those of women (even when those women were able to recognize the artist’s talent years prior to those men who were blinded by their fragile masculinity), the article also failed to do what it intended: Explain what makes these fans so loyal to their idol.

There seems to be a deep-rooted misunderstanding of the relationship between fans and the artist they support, starting with the idea that all fans are the same. They are not. As such, many internal disagreement can exist within a fandom, while all maintaining the same admiration for the artist. It should be clear that fans are perhaps, aside from the artist themselves, the most critical of the output provided. People might find that contradictory, but I have found this to be true amongst many different groups of fans. It is similar to having a best friend that loves you unconditionally, but that will set you straight and call you out on your mistakes when you stumble. Fans are there to help the artist along, but that doesn’t mean they will not hesitate to analyze, criticize and educate their idol as well as their peers if they feel this is necessary. Such criticism stems from the expectations they have formed about said output products. Most fans will distinguish between music on the one hand, and image on the other hand. This is separate from the expectations and perception fans have from their idol’s personality. However, they will expect both music and image to reflect the personality of the artist – this is where the honesty comes into play.

For those who have been following One Direction’s career and musical development, the style of music chosen by Harry did not come as a surprise. In fact, while many reviewers seem to shy away from making the comparison, it seems that Harry’s music seems to progress most naturally out of the latest albums of One Direction. Songs like Walking in the Wind, If I Could Fly, or the slightly older Ready to Run and Where do Broken Hearts Go all reflect similar soft-rock vibes. It also fits the fans’ perception of what Harry’s personal taste in music is like, as he’s always hinted at big artists from the 70s and 80s as his big musical influences. His continuous rejection of explaining his lyricism is also consistent with the Harry fans have come to know and love over the years – he’s expressed many a times how much he values music as art. And art is interpreted by the person observing the artpiece, he likes that a song might give different people different perspectives, as long as it resonates, it’s enough.

This links back to image. In my view, many fans see Harry as fiercely protective of his private life. And with good reason, given how he had to grow up in the limelight – starting off on the X Factor, a reality show that is as much a storytelling drama series as it is a singing competition. However, this is also where there is a deep dissatisfaction amongst fans. Part of celebrity culture is providing the public with certain glimpses into your private life, and fans are quite ambivalent in their appreciation of this. On the one hand, fans want to see their idols be happy and have the opportunity to talk to them, or get to know them. On the other hand, fans recognize the flagrant violation of privacy in terms of stalkers, paparazzi and ‘inside sources’ speaking to the press.

In Harry’s case, this is where the dichotomy is most apparent. While he himself never speaks out about his private life or relationships, not even his friendships with other celebs such as Ed Sheeran, Alexa Chung or Nick Grimshaw; his private life has quite possibly been most speculated about and most prominent in tabloids out of all the One Direction members. Rolling Stone does an abysmal job at respecting the same mysteriousness they hail Harry for trying to uphold by filling in the blanks and pushing him to talk about relationships he’s chosen not to address in the past. Their leading title for their profile does not focus on the music, or him as a new solo artist, but rather on him ‘opening up about famous flings’. It is a common misconception that fans want to hear him say that he’s single, or want to know the ins and outs of who he beds. Rather, fans want to hear what makes Harry happy. They don’t want to marry him, they want to know if he’s hydrated and well loved by his family and friends – if he’s taken enough holidays and if there’s anything in particular he still wants to achieve or cross of his bucket list; that is if he has one. They want to hear him honour the fundamental friendships that underpin the appreciation and adoration fans carry for all One Direction members. They want to know what inspires him – not who. Does he order a cheeseburger at McDonald’s, or does he enjoy a Big Mac on cheat days?

Similarly, many fans will find the sudden recognition by Rolling Stone and other acclaimed music reviewers to be bittersweet. While they will feel proud of Harry at seeing him succeed and get this approval, they also call it for what it is: a thinly-veiled rejection of One Direction and the Harry Styles prior to his solo debut. It is an honour to be hailed as the next David Bowie or Mick Jagger, but the line between inspiration and imitation is thin, which makes fans wary. What is more – the celebration of Harry’s apparent ‘new honesty and authenticity’ (again a rejection of his previous work) is rather awkward, when the reviews do not seem to provide Harry Styles with the room to be iconic as himself. They make sure to draw comparisons with a multitude of icons from the past, as if every choice he’s made has been infused with the mentality to emulate his predecessors. Fans want Harry to succeed by being true to who he is, and while his music gets recognition, it’s still not perceived as being something that is only fully Harry’s.Finally, it is important to not just address what fans expect from their idol, but also what they take away from them. In Rolling Stone, Harry Styles shared that what hurts him are fundamental issues that are lacking in today’s society – things like ‘equal rights, for everyone – all races, sexes, everything’. He’s a feminist, has been involved in the HeforShe campaign, and has expressed his support for LGBTQ+ as part of One Direction. He was frequently seen waving a rainbow flag in concerts, stated that ‘here at One Direction, we love love. Love is love,’ and has worn rainbow bracelets – most recently even a rainbow pin proudly fastened on his shirt. Moreover, he’s taken great care in answering questions about partners, favouring the word ‘spouse’ and always using gender-neutral pronouns. Harry is proud of the fact that he wears 26inch women’s skinny jeans, and continues to present himself as vulnerable in photoshoots, and to break gender norms by not shying away from the colour pink, silk and sheer, glitter boots, or wearing nailpolish. While some might not see the significance in this, these moves are incredibly powerful and can help people of all ages feel more accepted and comfortable with being who they are – it makes them feel normal and safe in a heteronormative world that is dominated by gender stereotypes. What is more, it reinforces their love and support for the artist, as they agree with their worldview – it’s a connection on a more fundamental level, that is not fueled by romantic love interest, or aesthetically pleasing faces and outfits.

Moreover, it inspires fans to change their views on society, and to extend the same charity and empathy as their idol does. In this respect, One Direction and its individual members have - unfortunately - been grossly underrated. Only recently did Steve Aoki note the incredibly power held by this fanbase in particular, calling the fans ‘an institution, like an army of bees’, recognizing how Louis Tomlinson’s fans were mainly responsible for his debut single’s smash success – creating and coordinating their own promotional campaigns, creating merchandise and posters, and requesting the song on radios. But this dedication does not limit itself to seeing their favourite artist succeed. Inspired by the great amount of charity work that One Direction has done itself, ranging from participating in Comic Relief and being patrons of numerous charities to Louis Tomlinson spending over 3 million pounds to organize a fundraiser in the form of a Princess Ball for ill children, the fans have bolstered this attitude to give to those in need and started charity drives in honour of the multiple members. The popular account 1DFansGive encourages fans to donate money to the charities that Harry and his peers are patrons of or have expressed their support for – with unparalleled, consistent success.

These positive aspects of the unique relationship between Harry Styles/1D and the fanbase are entirely lacking or even erased in media representation, which further fuels the dichotomy and love-hate relationship that fans have with media outlets. They stigmatize his fans as being teenage girls who fantasize about a relationship with him, and therefore are obsessed with his sex life – when this is frankly an insulting and gross overgeneralization. It is off-putting that fans are shamed for behavior they do not demonstrate, all the while the press engages in exactly that same behavior. It is not fans who force the idea of Harry Styles dating Taylor Swift or Kendall Jenner down anyone’s throats – it’s the press. It is not fans that prioritize his romantic relationships over his musical abilities and interests – it’s the press. On the other hand – it’s not the press that makes an artist successful, it’s the fans. And most importantly, it’s not the press that annually raises thousands of dollars inspired by an artist’s activism - it’s the fans. And the press doesn’t even report it; not even when they attempt fansplaining.

My advice? Don’t try something if the verb is derived from a harmful, toxic, divisive, humiliating and belittling behaviour that takes away someone’s voice and agency. Fansplaining is just as appreciated by fans as mansplaining is by women - not at all.

AHHH imagine Sasuke seeing that poster of boxing babe Sakura (like for a tournament) and he's so enthralled he says "Naruto shut up we're going". Of course Naruto says "but I didn't say anything to begin with". I imagine him visiting the gym she goes to. After he accidentally drops all the dumbbells from their rack she tries to help him and he awkwardly says "They're on the ground now/ They fell". In the future their lil Sarada finds the poster in Sasuke's stuff & he's just like "‼️(๑・▱・๑) "

A series in which Sasuke pursues boxing babe Sakura.

Jocks and Jughead

A/N: This is my first request so thank you anon ilysm :)

Pairing: Jughead x reader

Warning: hot boys

You looked up at the dark sky, and a dark roll of thunder echoed through the metal stands. The clouds let out small droplets of water, occasionally picking up with intensity, but nothing too intolerable. Your head fell back slowly to look at the football team practicing. They were running drills, and for some reason, on this ominous and gloomy day, Reggie and Archie were shirtless. The water mixed with sweat and their hair was flattened to their forehead. As the coach blew the whistle for the next drill, Reggie and Archie led the pack. Their muscular legs carried them farther than any other guy, and nobody had a chance. When they ran back around, both their heads turned to look into the stands.

The only reason for them looking was because you were the only living spectacle in a mile radius of the school. Or in the bleachers. At least, that was your thinking. Their minds were filled with you. How you spoke, your kindness, your grace and beauty. How much they wanted to share a shake with you. How they wanted to wake up next to you, your hair laced in their fingers, your head on their toned chest. It drove them mad, and they wanted to make you feel the same.

As the coach let the guys take a water break, Reggie and Archie ran to their bags on the fence, which was in front of the bleachers. You stood from your seat and walked over to the edge of the stands.

“So, what’s with the no shirt? And looking over here every millisecond? Do you think that Cheryl is gonna magically appear with the Vixens, so you guys have some eye candy to look at while doing some push ups?”

Reggie shook his head, water droplets flying off his head. He had a tight smirk on his face.

“Nah babe, I just really like the rain.”

Archie rolled his eyes and ran his fingers through his tangled orange locks.

“I didn’t bring a change by accident.”

You laughed at the thought, and then you heard footsteps clanging on the stands. Jughead walked towards you, a dopey grin on his face. Your heart danced when you stood up and slowly walked towards him. Of course, from the wet metal, you slipped about three steps in.

Bracing for impact, you felt two strong hands grab you by the waist and helped pull you back upright. You opened your eyes to see Jughead in your face, laughing slightly.

“You good there, Juliette?”

You scoffed at the comment, then turned around to see Archie and Reggie glaring at Jughead. The rain came down slightly harder and you looked up to see lightning, and like that, you understood why they were acting this way. Putting your hands on Jugheads, which were still on your hips, you laced your fingers with his. A newfound confidence emerged and you had a plan in your head.

“Hey Jughead, wanna ditch this place and go grab a burger?”

He let out a throaty groan of delight and pulled you into his chest. He got closer to your head and let out an airy laugh.

“You had me at ‘Jughead’.”

Jughead pulled away, keeping one hand laced with yours and carefully tugged you along. You turned around to see the guys furious; they were visibly red. You used your free hand to blow them a kiss each.

“Those idiots were fighting over me this whole time. Thank you for saving my ass, literally and metaphorically.”

He turned around and looked you in your eyes. A genuine smile appeared on his face.

“I honestly came here to ask you on a date, but you beat me to it. At least I did it before these gorillas tried something with you.”

“Are you annoyed?”

“… Oh, I don’t know, Bucky, what do you think? What do you think my problem is?”

“Um, it’s a Friday night and you’re here in the lab instead of somewhere else?”

Your problem isn’t the fact that you’re stuck in a lab on a Friday night. You’re annoyed because for some reason, Bucky Barnes has followed you into the lab and refuses to leave. He’s now poking your upper back like he’s a prepubescent teenager who just discovered the poking feature on Facebook.

Your apartment mate Steve introduced you to Bucky last semester. Apparently a few interactions and that one time you helped him with a Chem 101 problem set was enough for Bucky to decide that you two should be a couple.

Oh yes, sparks did fly, but that’s because Bucky’s personality borders on the line of flirtation. As cute as he is, you’ve brushed away his “declarations” of love. You know how guys like Bucky work, and their agenda isn’t something you want to get involved in.  When you find yourself getting too entranced by his chivalry and wit, you remind yourself to tread carefully. Much to your annoyance, your rejections have no effect on his persistence.

Forehead creased in frustration, you grab Bucky’s offending finger before staring into his blue eyes. “Please stop,” you let out.

Bucky hops onto the surface of a lab desk. Kicking his legs up and down, he lazily smirks at you as he watches your eyes drift from his eyes to the rest of his body. “You like what you see?” Bucky cheekily asks. “Take a picture, doll face. It lasts longer.”

(bc I need to make up for the langst I posted last night so here’s so comfort and a little bit of hurt. This is just Shiro’s, the other ones will be up soon. The only warning is a depiction of a panic attack.)

1. Lance winced as Shiro cut into him with words like he was expertly wielding Keith’s bayard. He would’ve found it funny how dad-like he was being, except: a) probably would cause Shiro to bail him out more, and b) it wasn’t very funny at all.

“Don’t you see how childish you’re being! This isn’t just serious, this is a matter of life or death, and your antics cannot get in the way. At the end of the day, do you want to be responsible for someone’s death?” The question sent a wave of nausea through Lance, and he was almost pulled off his feet by a wave of static that clouded his mind as something inside his chest burst. He grabbed his chest in alarm. His breathing was quickening. His chest was on fire. Oh god. Oh god. He curled inwards. Trying to protect himself.

“…” He tried to speak but no words came out, just harsh breaths as he lent against the wall, staring upwards through tears at Shiro who was frozen in fear.

“…Lance? Oh. Um… fuck.” If Lance was in any state of mind, he would have never let Shiro go for swearing in front of him, but as it was, it made Lance’s breath speed up. Shiro approached him like he would a possible hostile alien, slowly and with his hands outstretched. “Okay, Lance, if you can, put your arms around me and follow my breaths. Is that okay?” His voice was low and non-threatening, and in response Lance nodded slowly. His hands shaking as Shiro sat next to him, putting his hand on Lance’s arm. Shiro started taking audible, slow breaths. Lance winced as this effort made his breathing uneven, alternating from barely controlled slow breaths to shaky shallow ones.

“Thanks.” He choked out. Shiro shook his head.

“Don’t talk, just focus on the breathing.” Lance had enough humour to roll his eyes at him, and melodramatically breathed in and breathed out, causing Shiro to laugh, before his smile melted into a concerned frown.  “I’m so sorry Lance.”

“Don’t be. You’re right, of course.” Lance looked down, not willing to meet Shiro’s eyes.

“Just because you were goofing off doesn’t mean I should have said that. It was way out of line. I just –” Shiro trailed off.

“I’m scared too.” Lance responded quietly. “I know. I know that this is a life-or-death thing, but I just can’t think about it. I’m not like you, or Keith, or Allura. I have to distract myself. If I think about for one second someone else dying on my account I just –” Lance’s breath started to quicken again, and Shiro stopped him, beginning the audible intakes and exhales of breath once more. Lance found his voice again. “You’re good at that. Unsurprisingly.”

“Well, thank Coran actually.” Shiro smiled as Lance scoffed. “No really, apparently they’re quite common for Alteans as well as humans. I still get them occasionally, but they were really bad when, you know…” Shiro trailed off before gathering his thoughts once more. “Listen. Are you alright?”

Lance laughed nervously.

“Yeah, of course buddy, don’t worry about it.” He patted Shiro’s arm, got up from the ground and started to walk away when he felt Shiro’s metal arm on his shoulder.

“Really. We all deal with trauma differently, and I’m worried. These coping mechanisms are all fine and good until they start hurting you and other people.” Shiro was staring down at him and Lance shrunk under his worry. Of course Shiro was worried about the others.

“I’m really sorry I’ve been a pain.” He laughed, rubbing the back of his head in a mockery of sheepishness. “I’ve been distracted but don’t worry, to quote our lord Efron, I’ll get my head in the game.” Shiro’s frown did not disappear. “Seriously, dude, don’t worry.” Lance smiled.

“Just, if you need to talk, please do. Whatever problems you have are important, not just for the team’s performance, but for your health as well. Okay? And if you can’t talk to me, talk to Hunk, or Pidge, or even Keith.” Shiro insisted, gesturing emphatically as Lance rolled his eyes. “Please.”

Lance’s face softened, his mask melting away.

“I’m just so scared. What if I never see my family again?” His already tear-filled eyes began brimming once more. “And I’m so scared that I’ll mess up everything, I mean, how the hell can I compare to you guys? Keith’s an amazing combatant, Coran and Allura are the best at strategies, you’re a great leader, Hunk’s an awesome engineer, and Pidge is just a genius!” Shiro stared at Lance as tears spilled down his cheeks.

“I’m so sorry I didn’t notice.” He pulled his hands over his face. “God, and I’m supposed to be the leader.” Shiro straightened up, looking at Lance. “I can’t express how sorry I am. I forget, I suppose, that you’re children. But know we’re all terrified; and know that we couldn’t do it without you. Because your joking does help, Lance, it breaks the mood and reminds us why we’re fighting - for our humanity. You’re important.”

Lance stood in shock. He wiped the tears off his face.

“Gosh Shiro, you’re such an old man!” He started laughing.

Shiro crossed his arms and stared at Lance. His frown didn’t reach his eyes.

“Come on you youngin, we’ve got training to do.” He walked out of the room, shaking his head. Lance smiled. Maybe things were alright, even if he was just saying it to pacify him. Still. It counted.

perhaps.

Hi I have a question. I noticed that Harry and Louis both readjusted their headphones on their heads when their old tweets about each other were read and I remember seeing ur post about his body language. Does that mean anything? Thank you!!

Thanks for noticing it! Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought about it twice, but it is interesting to compare them. This set of gifs shows those reactions:

http://16meets18.com/post/163359432002/harry-and-louis-reacting-to-a-mariachi-band

They both reach up to adjust their headphones, which don’t seem in need of adjustment.

I’ve noticed in 1D concert footage, that they reach up to touch their in-ears a lot– Harry, especially. Over time, it’s become a comforting tick, maybe, something to do to relieve psychological tension. I don’t mean that they’re nervous, exactly, just that they experience a little spike of emotion (it could be excitement or happiness or even anger). They touch their in-ears to draw attention away from their faces.

Harry is a tactile person– he used to wear a lot of fabric ties around his right wrist (hair ties? bracelets? pieces of clothing?). He likes to wear more rings than most people, and he plays with them constantly. He always has his necklace, sometimes more than one.

I saw a post a while ago with gifs of all the times in concert that Harry wiped his cheek on his shoulder while sneaking a sideways look at Louis. I think hands near the face (touching the headphones) comes from the same impulse, to do something that takes attention away from the face.

It’s also interesting to see what Louis does with his hands in the interviews. When the topic of discussion isn’t the most comfortable, Louis’ hands are close to his face a lot. They are also expressive. For example, during the Larry denial with Dan Wootton, his hands were in big, exaggerated motions– picking up the iPhone, waving them when making his point. The exaggeration made his words seem… theatrical, maybe. Like this was all for show.

In contrast, adjusting headphones seems entirely reflexive. I also noticed that right after Louis laughs very big, he uses his hand to cover his mouth. And after Harry laughs, he knits his eyebrows. Louis’s gesture is one he does when he’s very happy and laughing too hard– just an expression of incontinent joy. Harry’s face shows a struggle. He’s putting on his “serious face” to try to erase the “too-happy face,” lest he sends the wrong signal.
