How to Catch a Wild Viscount - Tessa Dare (Novella)
Ashley’s Fast & Dirty Review™, because I’m a grad student who works full time while also trying to have a personal life and I don’t have time for that in-depth nonsense. Will probably contain spoilers.
refuses twenty-six, yes, that’s right twenty-six marriage proposals while awaiting Luke’s return from war, only to find he is now unwilling or unable to be the man she needs and deserves. So, like any capable female, she goes hunting.
- Cute little fun novella that’s sexy as hell. How Dare manages to build such intense sexual tension is such a short book I’m sure I’ll never know.
- I just love grumpy heroes, so sue me. They are wonderful.
- “I am not a woman formed for solitude.”
- “What I want from you is not tender. It’s not romantic in the least. It’s plunder. It’s possession. If you had the least bit of sense you’d turn and run…” “For God’s sake, Luke. You’re not the only one with animal urges.”
The Verdict: There isn’t much in the short book, but it is all lovely. Dare’s earlier work have an…almost childish sense of mischievous at their core. It’s fun to read them in contrast with her later works that are more mature in their humor and wit.
