and she made him more caring

anonymous asked:

can we please get some fred and pansy. they need so much more love

this is a muggle au for the @slytherdornet and @hprarepairnet summer vacation challenge!

  • fred loved the county fair that came to his town every summer, and he always went with his sister ginny.
  • she was the only one of his siblings that actually liked to go on rides, eat elephant ears, and get henna tattoos.
  • george didn’t even enjoy it. it never made sense to him, but he always enjoyed spending some time with his sister. he was more like her than he sometimes cared to admit.
  • as ginny handed their tickets to the woman in the ticket booth she asked, “what do you think you want our hennas to look like this year?”
  • they always got matching henna tattoos. it was a tradition, but this year, fred was stumped with ideas.
  • “i honestly have no idea, gin. do you have any ideas?”
  • she shrugged as they passed a stand full of handmade bags.
  • “i suppose we’ll just have to look around in their binders for inspiration.”
  • fred nodded in agreement.
  • they spent a few hours riding rides and eating junk food; fred’s stomach was full and ginny’s long red hair was now knotted. she was attempting to brush through it with her fingers.
  • “i wish you carried hair tyes around. i am in desperate need of one.”
  • “i don’t even have long hair.”
  • “you should still carry them around.”
  • fred rolled his eyes and ginny grinned.
  • and that’s when fred saw her.
  • they finally found the henna stand, and the only girl working there caught his eye.
  • she had short black hair tucked behind her ears, a lip ling that was glistening against her red lipstick, and a rose tattoo trailing the side of her neck.
  • fred stopped in his tracks and gulped. ginny had walked slightly ahead but she turned around to look back at him. she smirked when she saw what he was staring at.
  • “is it time for hennas?” she teased.
  • fred playfully hit her arm.
  • “don’t you dare,” he warned her, but ginny was already walking towards the girl at the booth.
  • “hey there,” ginny said to the girl, “my brother would like to get a henna done.”
  • ginny flashed the girl a smile, and the girl perked her eyebrow up in response.
  • “oh yeah?” the girl asked, “what would he like done?”
  • ginny turned her head over her shoulder to look at fred who had followed her. he swallowed the remaining saliva in his throat and ran his hand through his hair.
  • “i-uh, i’m not sure. do you have one of those binders?”
  • the girl nodded her head to her left indicating the binder was on the table. he went and picked it up, and as soon as he sat down in the seat for clients, ginny adjusted the bag on her shoulder and started to walk away.
  • “where are you going?” fred hissed.
  • ginny’s eyes looked giddy; fred felt nervous and annoyed.
  • “i’m going to get an elephant ear. i’ll come back in like twenty minutes.”
  • when ginny was sure the girl was looking away, she winked at fred before she went off on her own.
  • fred tried to keep his attention on the binder in front of him, but he kept getting distracted by the girl’s long legs in front of him. her right leg was crossed over her left, and fred was happy and annoyed that she was wearing tight black cut-offs.
  • the girl was flipping through a magazine casually, and she licked the tip of her finger each time she turned a page. her nails were painted black, but the nail on her left index finger had a chip in it.
  • “are you going to continue gaping at me, or are you going to choose a design for me to draw on your body?”
  • fred felt his neck flush, and he blinked multiple times as though he was trying to gain composure.
  • i-uh, i’ll let you decide what to put on me. i don’t care. everything you have in here is good.”
  • “good,” the girl repeated, “it’s just good?”
  • he looked at her frantically, but that’s when he saw the small smile playing at her lips.
  • she was teasing him.
  • “uh, it’s great, actually,” fred responded, “quite great.”
  • “that’s better.”
  • she got her supplies ready, and fred sat up in his seat. he watched her hands work and admired all the rings on her fingers.
  • “take off your shirt,” she ordered, “i want to do something on your chest.”
  • “m-my chest?” fred asked.
  • “did i stutter?”
  • she still had a smirk playing at her lips, and he wasn’t sure how to respond. so he looked outside the tent to see if anyone was watching.
  • everyone seemed to be minding their own business, so he slipped his shirt off.
  • “what are you going to do?” he asked her.
  • “you’ll see,” was all she said.
  • he didn’t dare look down at her as she worked on the design on his chest. all he could focus on was trying to breath properly, and he worried she could feel his erratic heartbeat against her forearm.
  • her design took all of two seconds, and fred was surprised when she said she was done.
  • “that’s it?” he asked her, “what could you have possibly done that fast?”
  • “why don’t you look?” she said handing him a mirror.
  • as soon he placed the mirror in front of his chest, he realized she wrote out her number, and in the mirror, it wasn’t backwards.
  • he wanted to know how she did that so easily, but he didn’t know how to ask.
  • “now you won’t lose it,” she said casually, “so you better write it down before it fades in a few weeks. do you know the proper care instructions?”
  • fred’s mouth slightly parted; this girl was ballsy, ballsier than him when he usually kept his cool.
  • at that, fred smirked.
  • “i do know the proper care instructions, yes,” he told her smoothly, “unless you think you’ll need to check up on it from time to time?”
  • she played with her lip ring as she admired his chest.
  • “i think that would be best,” she replied, “i’m pansy.”
  • “nice to meet you,” he said, “i’m fred weasley.”

Baekhyun X Reader

“…..He only had one place to go..”

The young man found himself in a familiar yet uncomfortable place. He felt sorry about everything at that moment:his father, his mother, their company, his responsibilities….They were all too much.

A small smile appeared on baekhyun’s lips when he saw the familiar old lady. The lady who made him into a man.She felt like a real mother to him.Whenever his mother was away, she was the one to take care of him.

“You argued with him?” the old lady asked while handing him the cup of tea she just made.

“Yea…..He was just…..screaming” said baekhyun, looking at the cup in his hands.

“Oh….My poor child…” the lady said, a deep sigh leaving her lips. She had seen this before.

“He must have been busy.He carries a big responsibility in your company.Don’t blame him because he wants you to become someone successful” the old lady said caressing baekhyun’s hair.

“But he could jus-” baekhyun managed to say before the lady interrupted him.

“No!He wants the best for you.Since you were a child, he had raised you with care and love…….At least he tried.I know you want someone to take care of you and understand you but…that man had been through a lot of things..Don’t do that to him..Instead…Go find someone…” the old lady said wisely.

“What someone?” said baekhyun looking at her confusedly.

“Someone who can love you.Someone who can listen to you when you feel like your head is going to burst. It doesn’t have to be partner. He or she could be a friend or someone you admire.Just make sure that person will care about you and give you a shoulder to cry on when you need” the old lady said offering her hand to baekhyun.”Promise me” she said smiling.”Promise you won’t turn back until you find the person” she said.

While baekhyun wanted to whine and disagree, he remembered that whenever he listened to the old lady sitting next to him, good things happen, she was always right. You could say that it was experience or maybe instincts. He didn’t know what it was but he was sure she was right.

“Ok.I promise” he said while the old lady hugged him.

You looked at the old lady and then turned to baekhyun. After repeating the actions a few times, a smile formed on her lips.

“It’s a long story” she said. “Lets just say you’re here for a good reason” she laughed while sitting next to you.

A good reason? All you could do was to agree. You didn’t know this person but she had a nice aura around her.It made you feel calm.

“Hey!” baekhyun said touching your nose.”Lets go!” he said smiling.

You didn’t ask this time. You had no idea of the place he was planning to take you but the thing was that, when you were with him, you didn’t feel like it was necessary to ask.You trusted him.Maybe it was wrong to trust him but it was a bit too late for anyone to say that.

He took your hand but he didn’t take you anywhere this time.He didn’t take your hand to take you somewhere. It was to hold your hand.

“I want to eat ramyun.” He said while looking at you.

You were staring at your intertwined hands with a shocked face which made him giggle childishly.

“You don’t want to hold hands?” he asked smiling but something felt off at that moment.

“No..its not that…” you said trying to adjust the situation.”It was just…I wasn’t expecting it” you said blushing and covering your face.

You weren’t a person who would blush so what was wrong with you cheeks now?How did this person manage to make you blush?Maybe it was because everything was too sudden.

He held your hand gently.

“You heard grandma. You are my wish.” he said kissing your nose.

Was he trying to kill you or something? His actions were getting bolder and bolder since you left the old lady’s shop. You felt like your whole upper body was ready to explode. It wasn’t just your heart or stomach, he was effecting all over you body.

“Now that my wish came true,I should take care of it well, right?” he said giggling while he held you closer.

“So..What does that mean?” you asked trying to get a little distant but it was impossible with this man.

“What I’m saying is…..I’ll take care of my wish…meaning I’ll be with you anytime you want..Or anytime I want” he said smirking childishly.

“W-What does that mean?” you blurted out, still confused.

“It means that you’re my..well…humans call it girlfriend but I like to use the word my wish.” he said still smiling before he kissed your forehead.

It had been a week since baekhyun and you officially started to go out.It wasn’t easy to make him say the words. He didn’t like to use the normal ways of asking out.In fact, he didn’t even ask you first but you convinced him to make a proper confession so that you were also able to tell your feelings towards him. After you both confessed on a rooftop, he started to tear up while he listened to your confession.

“I..I can’t exactly say I love you because I have never felt it before.I mean the love towards someone who isn’t from my family or friends. When I met you in the library that day,I had many thoughts about you.I thought you could be a playboy or some kind of rich kid…Well, you’re but….It’s different.Normally.when I make a prediction about someone I just met.its true.I’m good at predicting but you…You managed to prove me wrong. You actions weren’t cool..I mean not at all.You teared up right in front of me and I thought I really want to make this person happy….Because you also make me happy.I don’t know how.Not yet.I’ll figure it out soon but when I’m with you..Its like my soul is attached to yours and I feel so happy.Your small words make me happy and I want….I want more of that..” you said before looking at baekhyun again. It was your first confession so you felt super shy.

What you weren’t expecting was to see a few tears in the corners of baekhyun’s eyes.He was half smiling while looking at the floor. You couldn’t tell whether he was happy or not.He just stared at the floor for sometime before looking up at you.

You were about to say something but baekhyun had different plans. Not too long after he looked at you, you opened your mouth to say something and you felt his lips on yours.

He kissed you.It was your first shared kiss.He kissed you deeply like you were the only one that mattered to him.He kissed you with hope and love.He kissed you like he was waiting for you.He kissed you and you felt the butterflies in his stomach.

Your hands found his hair and you caressed his hair which only made the kiss more intense.

He kissed you like you were his true wish.

beacon hills was a beautiful town, strange but beautiful none the less. you’d lived here your whole life, fortunately you’d managed to go most of your life without knowing what truly lurked in the dark but in the end, you were exposed to it all and fighting things nightmares were made of was a daily occurrence now.

garnet plot ideas that dont completely center around ruby/sapphire or garnet being a fusion:

-the mental strain of being able to see the future and what it must do to her. to see people you love die in timelines and it could be completely your fault… that’s got to be terrible

-garnet having a breakdown but needing to calm down to help her teammates, but learning that she’s allowed to have emotions and cry and not be strong sometimes

-what were rose’s last words to garnet? how did she change herself based on what rose said to her?

-garnet and amethyst connecting… amethyst feeling down about herself and feeling weak and defective… and them re-fusing so she could feel how powerful she is (with a much better designed sugilite)! how much her spirit guides the fusion. and in turn, garnet realizing that she should be more spontaneous and not afraid to show messy feelings.

-garnet’s early days with rose and pearl. what did pearl think of garnet? was pearl mean to her? how did garnet first become friends with pearl? was there tension between the two?

-garnet revisiting her trust issues (i.e. the sardonyx arc) surrounding being taken advantage of. how does she decide who to let into her trust bubble?

-how garnet discovers human love. how does she react when she sees happy couples? how does she react when she learns that some couples drift apart and break away, never to interact again.

-garnet interacting with lapis and both talking about experiences homeward wise, and them both learning about how to cope from each other. lapis becomes a little softer and less sarcastic and melancholy from garnet.

-what made garnet love steven the way she does now? was there a moment when she decided that she was going to take care of him and the crystal gems?

anyway… theres a lot more but here you go please make garnet 3-dimensional again

I honestly feel for Lance when it comes to him disliking Keith, especially in the beginning of the show

Here he’s told that he wouldn’t even be a fighter pilot if it wasn’t for Keith dropping out

I can’t even imagine how bad that must’ve made him feel, almost like he didn’t have a purpose there at all because of Keith. If you think about it, Keith being better than him in the Galaxy Garrison probably made him feel inferior and unimportant, which is why he developed a grudge against him in the first place.

This feeling of inferiority and being put down before Keith is why he always feels as if he was one-upping him.

Then there’s the fact of Shiro who he looks up to a lot and has literally called him his hero, and it has probably already been made aware to Lance how close he is to Keith. This also put him at a disadvantage when it comes to being noticed by him.

This is most likely why he blew up at Shiro that time when he chose Keith over him to come on the mission. He probably felt that Shiro was favouring Keith just because of their closeness, even though he has practically the same potential as him, and even more if anything.

Then there’s Allura

Lance is always flirting with her and trying to make moves, but she never seems interested or cares in the slightest.

Then she happens to become involved with Keith and it’s really no surprise why Lance would be jealous

He’s trying so hard with her and then he gets the impression that she may be more interested in Keith, someone who is literally always stealing the spotlight from him. I can’t even imagine how low that made him feel too.

Even though I feel like their relationship is slowly improving, because we got to see in season two how Lance actually cares about Keith

I think this issue of him being put below and feeling inferior to him will be very serious in season three now that Shiro’s gone

Who did Shiro put his faith in to lead the team if anything happened to him? Oh yeah, Keith. Then there’s also the fact that Lance felt like a seventh wheel

During this scene he made Shiro proud of him, which is why it was such an important moment. Shiro praised him, making him feel valuable and like an important part of the team.

Then he disappears, and the news is going to be broken that he wants Keith to lead instead of Lance? Leading Voltron is a big deal, and if Lance finds out that Shiro has no faith in him to lead, that’s going to kill him guys I can just feel it.

Keith and Lance, especially Lance, are going to have to overcome their differences if they want to move forward in Voltron and eventually find Shiro. Lance needs to face his inferiority problems with Keith, only then can they work properly together without any issues. Except if that doesn’t happen, there’s going to be a lot of conflict this season with them and no progress in their relationship.

And that’s exactly what we don’t want, considering I’m almost 99.9% sure Keith doesn’t even hate or dislike Lance, he only has to feel that way because of how Lance acts towards him.

Chat Noir’s Popularity and Ladybug’s Importance

I really don’t understand where the notion that Paris doesn’t like or care about Chat Noir came from. I mean while he obviously isn’t as popular as Ladybug, people seem to appreciate him fine.

At the statue unveiling, Chat was the only one who showed up and not one single person in the entire crowd complained about where Ladybug was. The Mayor wanted her there, but he was fine with going on without her and Theo was reluctant about it because of his crush on her. But overall everyone was excited to see him! Even when Ladybug was absent, and before they revealed the statues, they continued cheering, and they took pictures of him.

I know that this is actually Copycat, but these people don’t. He’s Chat Noir to them and as soon as he enters the room they’re immediately in awe over being so close to the famous hero (the girl on the left even fangirls a little).

Look at how stoked this family is over seeing him. He’s not even doing cool superhero stuff, he’s just walking inside the museum.

When Ladybug arrived this was Nino’s reaction:

When Chat Noir arrived he was like:

This one random and well meaning dude cheering him on in the back.

Honestly no one has ever said anything bad about him, the only person who has even came close to insulting him had been Antibug by implying that he was a “sidekick” once.

However when you’re akumatized you’re not held accountable for your words and actions. And she had specifically said that as a way to persuade Chat to her side, so there’s not really a lot of weight in her words.

So yeah people cheer for Ladybug, but they also have shown to get excited over Chat Noir. It’s just that Ladybug is more popular than him, and it makes complete sense in-universe why she is.

It’s more than that she’s the main character or that she’s in a show where there’s a girl targeted demographic.

Ladybug is the leader, the one who wins the battles because of the plans she comes up with.

She swooped in and rescued the Mayor’s daughter in front of all of Paris and when everyone was cowering before Hawkmoth, she alone stood up against him and stunned them all by symbolically demolishing the “face of terror.” And then afterwards gave a heroic speech that gave them hope and cemented their trust in both her and Chat Noir.

Not only can she purify the Akuma victims, but it’s because of her healing powers that she and especially Chat, will never have to worry about collateral damages or facing law suits over them, which probably helps the public be more forgiving towards Akuma victims when there’s no lasting devastation to deal with. This is a pretty common trope in superhero stories like in Captain America: Civil War, the destruction from Man of Steel being the set up for Batman vs Superman, and why the heroes in the Incredibles had to retire, but because of Ladybug this will never be an issue.

She has the power to bring people back from the mcfreaking DEAD!!!! (Seriously please think about that, like I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if there was some weird religious cult worshiping Ladybug because of that)

And yes people have died in this show.

In a building this size there had to have been people inside it. Probably barricading themselves while Stone Heart is rampaging outside.

aaaaaand they’re definitely dead (or severely injured in the least).

But they’re alive now because Ladybug brought them back, and again this helps the public be more forgiving towards the Akuma victims because no one really “died or got hurt.”

Remember back in the Origins episode, where Officer Roger actually got injured from Stone Heart and how we saw everyone giving Ivan a hard time afterwards?

Of course this was before Ladybug used her Miraculous Cure and healed all the damage/injuries. This also means that no vengeful citizens will go after the Akuma victims or the heroes in a heartbroken rage of losing a loved one, which is good since they’d be really easy prey for Hawkmoth and it would only ensue an endless cycle of mourning Akumas.

In fact if Ladybug didn’t have those powers, there’d probably be much more pressure on her and Chat to either defeat Hawkmoth for good or to give their miraculous to him to end it all.

There’s also the possibility that there’d be attempts to put past Akuma victims on trial, depending on the damage they’ve left, physical or emotional. Even if they were mind controlled, it’s harder to appease with that when you’re left with the wreckage and until Ladybug and Chat Noir capture Hawkmoth they’d probably want someone to blame.

And all the big Ladybug fans have all been girls. Alya, Chloe, and Manon who like in real life are inspired by a powerful female figure and not only admire her, but also want to be like her (Chloe who cosplays and roleplays as her, Alya who from the beginning had an interest in super heroines and made a point to write about a strong fictional female character for the movie in Horrificator, and Manon who wanted the Ladybug doll so much she didn’t care that she had a torn arm).

So basically while it’s always great to appreciate Chat Noir, I don’t believe that he’s necessarily underappreciated by Paris. People respect him and even if Ladybug is more popular it’s not as if it’s undeserved or unreasonable. And above all, she has never taken all the credit herself: from the very beginning of their partnership where she emphasized to Paris that they’ll both do everything they can to help and all throughout the series!

And as for Chat himself, he seems pretty satisfied with all this. People generally love him and Ladybug repeatedly reaffirms that they are a team, that even if their popularity isn’t equal they both know that they are equal to each other, and he can openly enjoy his freedom that he doesn’t have as Adrien Agreste.

So yeah, he’s doing okay.

[Edit] TL;DR: Just because Ladybug is more popular than Chat doesn’t mean that he’s hated and there are very valid reasons as to why she is more popular than him. And ultimately? It doesn’t matter. Not to Ladybug or Chat.

[Edit 2] : Please read my post relating to this topic

SANSA ISN'T SELFISH! JEALOUS! OR POWER HUNGRY!

Do you think she is still the girl she was in Season 1? Have you been ignoring her behaviour the past few episodes? Or in Spoils of War alone? She has thought of nothing but the North throughout this season.

And when her sister is finally home. She acknowledges that Jon loves Arya more than words can describe. And she knows how deeply Arya cared for Jon, look at the smile on this precious muffins face at that prospect of seeing her favourite sibling. Sansa made that genuine smile happen.

Sansa has offered nothing but wise counsel based on her knowledge she has obtained through her toxic situation in King’s Landing. She is making the most of what she has learned in the Capital to ensure the security of her people and family. She can even conceal her emotions exceedingly well.

That’s why I think, while watching Brienne and Arya spar, she gives that look. It’s not one of jealousy like so many people are saying. It’s one of fear. She hides it behind her trained facade, but she see’s Arya fighting with such skill, and she knows, especially with that Valyrian steel dagger, Arya will be on the front lines with Jon. She doesn’t want to lose her family again.

My point? STOP HATING ON SANSA FUCKING STARK.

The Photograph

Hi babes! This is a fluffy oneshot about Peter having a crush on one of Michelle’s friends at Midtown High. One day, he spots her reading outside and secretly takes a photo of her because he thinks that she looks too perfect to go unseen, and he pins the photo up in the back of his locker. Everything is fine until Flash Thompson gets his hands on Peter’s photo and brings it to her attention. After that, awkward cuteness ensues and I hope that you all like it!

The Photograph

Hot licks of pain seared throughout Peter’s body. His lip was split, there was a purpling bruise on his temple that was accompanied by a headache so powerful that it’s aching refused to be ignored. Even walking from class to class was taking a toll on Peter. He was exhausted and in pain, but Peter remained hellbent on keeping Queens safe, no matter the cost.

Peter’s eyes glazed over and his body was ready to shut down. Doing his best to keep himself up on his feet, he focused on the photo that he had tacked up of her in the back of his locker.

In the photo, the girl was outside, hidden beneath the shade of a rather large tree. She was stretched out on a light pink blanket, a copy of Charles Baudelaire’s, ‘The Flowers of Evil,’ open in front of her. There was a carton of fresh strawberries and a rather oversized iced coffee balanced haphazardly against her backpack on the ground with her, and every so often, Peter recalled how delightedly blissful she looked each time she bit into a ripe berry. The sun’s rays, the soft breeze wandering through the tree’s leaves, and the chatter bumbling down to her from their shared high school didn’t even faze the girl. Her mind remained with the poet’s.

After a few minutes of watching her, Peter felt soothed. Everything about her made him feel better. He loved the way she licked her lips after she ate, he loved the way that she read her favorite verses aloud, he loved the way that she laughed at herself when she nearly spilled her coffee, and he loved the way that she helped him forget about the constant stress that was now heavily present in his life.

When Peter finally snapped the photo, she was laying on her side, one hand wound into her silky hair to keep it out of her eyes, and the other hand holding her poetry book open. Her eyes were focused on comprehending the poems on each page, but she wore a soft smile on her lips that made it clear that she wasn’t scrutinizing anything too intensely. The girl was merely enjoying her free period in the sun and Peter longed to do the same.

Since then, Peter looked for her in almost every hallway, in every classroom window, and everyday at lunch. They’d spoken a handful of times, seeing as they were in the same history class, but other than class discussions, Peter hadn’t mustered up the nerve to say hello outside of an intellectual, in-class debate.

One day, she was late to history and when she’d walked into the room, she found that her normal seat next to the window had been taken, so she headed towards the first empty desk she saw. Peter, already occupying one of the seats, nearly suffered a heart attack when she placed her binder next to his and offered him a quiet “good morning.”

It had taken Peter a few seconds to force his brain to form a response to her and then to get his mouth to open and say the words that his brain was attempting to communicate back to her. When he stuttered out, “hey, yeah, good morning,” she didn’t tease him for his weirdness, instead she smiled at him and Peter could’ve melted onto the floor right then and there.

During that day’s lecture, their teacher was detailing women’s struggles throughout the years to gain the 19th amendment, which won women of all colors, and social standings the right to vote. She scribbled down notes and nodded in agreement with the teacher as she spoke of Ida B. Well’s, Lucy Burns’ and Alice Paul’s courageous actions in the suffrage movement. It was only after Flash Thompson opened his mouth that Peter observed a frown cross over her features.

“Why didn’t they just keep doing what Florence Kelley advised? If they had followed her directions, they wouldn’t have gotten radical and thrown into prison. Florence Kelley was meeting with President Woodrow Wilson, and he explained to her why he couldn’t grant women suffrage right then, but he said he would going forward. The National Women’s Party didn’t know what they were doing, and furthermore, they set the women’s rights movement back with their crazy antics.” Flash finished, folding his hands behind his head and leaning back in his chair.

Glancing over at the girl in the chair next to him, Peter knew that not only was Flash painfully incorrect and uneducated, but she was clearly getting ready to put Flash back into his place.

“Wow, that’s actually so, so, so wrong.” She started, turning slightly in her chair to face Flash, “if Florence Kelley had kept asking President Wilson to recognize women as intelligent, reasonable beings capable of making a decisive decision, it’s unlikely that the 19th amendment would’ve been passed in 1920. The only reason women were granted suffrage is because of The National Woman’s Party. These women marched, were beaten in the streets, picketed in front of the White House, and were thrown into jail for the good of women everywhere. President Wilson only granted women the right to suffrage after women were dying in prison due to the hunger strike Alice Paul began. Not to mention, while these women were imprisoned, they were denied basic human rights and the entire reason they were in locked away in jail was because they were blocking traffic on the sidewalk. It took drastic measures to humanize women in men’s eyes and without the heroic antics of these women, who knows where women would stand today. I mean, a woman’s right to her own body is something that could be taken away at any moment, and women are constantly battling the image that men have imposed upon us. Therefore, your opinion is invalid because you apparently cannot grasp the severity of the situation, past and present.”

Peter, as well as the rest of the class, was stunned into silence. Normally, she didn’t partake in class discussions because she was shy, but now that she had, everyone in the room was shocked by the intellect that she had just destroyed Flash with. Peter wanted nothing more than to hear her speak all day, and maybe to introduce her to Aunt May.

Peter could barely focus as Michelle began to back her up. Leaning closer to the wonderfully insightful girl next to him, Peter let her know just how clever he found her. “That was amazing, everything you said was perfect and spot-on. That was the greatest thing that I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait for you do it again.” Peter congratulated the girl.

“You don’t think it was too much?” She asked worriedly, biting her lip and fiddling with the pencil in her hands.

Peter shook his head, his eyes wide, “No, no! Absolutely not! You would’ve made Alice Paul very proud.”

Placing a hand atop of his, she thanked him with a smile. “You’re the best, Peter,” she said before turning her focus back to their teacher.

After that, she had joined Peter on Flash’s hit-list, so Peter should’ve known better than to try and relax with his locker wide open. Peter was knocked out of his daydream of going home to her and simply curling up around her to sleep by Flash’s grabby hand, first shoving him out of the way, and then stealing his photo of her.

As Flash rushed down the hall, Peter struggled after him, both boys trying to beat each other to where she stood deep in conversation with Michelle about the numerous male authors whose most famous novels were stolen works from their wives.

“Flash, don’t” Peter shouted, as he tried to ignore the shooting pain traveling up his body.

“Too late, Penis Parker,” Flash called as he weaved gracefully inbetween students to get to their target.

“Oh my gosh,” Michelle muttered, rolling her eyes as she nodded her head towards the two boys heading their way. “Losers.”

“His lip is bleeding,” She said, concern lacing into her tone. “Do you think he’s okay?”

“Your boyfriend is fine, probably tripped over a lego or something on his way to the bathroom and banged his head into the wall on his way down.” Michelle tried to reason with her friend. She’d detected that her friend and Peter had the biggest of crushes on one another way before either one of them had, and she had made it her mission to mock them every chance she got.

Flash was the first to reach the two girls, holding up the photo of her that Peter had taken of her reading outside. “Parker, Penis.” He wheezed, “Penis Parker took this picture of you and had it taped up behind his textbooks in his locker.” Bending over to soothe the splint in his side, Flash handed the photo to the confused girl in front of him.

As Peter came to a stop in front of her and Michelle, he groaned and threw his hands up into the air, uttering a barely audible, “fuck.”

When the girls saw Peter up close, they found that Peter was barely recognizable due to all of the bruises masking his pale skin. Quickly handing the photo to Michelle, the girl surged forward, lightly grabbing onto Peter’s sweater to steady him. “Peter, what happened to you? You’re hurt,” she questioned, growing a little more distraught as she studied him face to face.

“The picture, I’m sorry, I know it’s so creepy. I didn’t mean to be a weirdo and I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable, I swear that I’m not stalking you.” Peter mumbled, trying unsuccessfully to keep his lip from bleeding.

“Peter, I don’t care about the photo. What happened to you? Oh no, your lip is bleeding,” She rambled, steering Peter towards the bench nearest to them. “Sit,” she instructed, digging through her backpack for a tissue to dab Peter’s cut with.

“You’re seriously not going to say anything about the picture he clearly took of you?” Flash whined, refusing to accept defeat.

Michelle raised her eyebrows, “No, I think it’s disturbing too. You’re not alone in that, Flash.”

“Do you need ice?” She asked Peter, guiding Peter to look up so she could inspect his face for any further damage. “You need ice, Michelle, could you please go get him ice? Flash, could you please go away?” She asked, looking at the pair over her shoulder.

Flash was nearly beside himself, “it’s weird! You have to acknowledge that it’s weird that he not only took a photo of you without your knowledge, but that he has it pinned up like you are his girlfriend or something? Really not going to say anything about that?”

“For all you know,” she said, turning to face Flash as she did that day in class, “Peter could very well be my boyfriend!”

Peter’s jaw dropped so far that she had to readjust his head to keep the tissue on his open wound. Gently prying her helping hand from his lip, “wait, really?” Peter asked. “You’d be my girlfriend after all this?”

“This is disgusting,” Michelle interjected. Handing Peter’s photo back to him, she grabbed Flash by the collar of his polo shirt and dragged him down the hallway. “We’ll be back with ice and some band-aids.”

She and Peter could hear Flash’s discontented grumbles as he followed Michelle down to the nurse’s office to retrieve some medical aid for Peter.

“Are you really not freaked out?” Peter asked, staring up at her with big, brown, puppy-dog eyes.

Sighing, she moved to stand in between Peter’s legs to inspect how much further his lip had split. “If you keep talking, the cut is never going to heal. This,” she gestured to Peter’s clearly damaged frame, “freaks me out more than anything. What’s happening to you? If I can help you, please let me. I care about you and I hate that you’re hurt.” She pouted.

She was so close that Peter could smell all the floral notes in her perfume, and if he wanted to, he could hug himself close to her and never let go. “I can’t tell you what’s happening, but if I stop, things will get worse. Not just for me, but for everyone. I’m trying to help.”

Running a hand through his hair, she shook her head. “Then let me help you. If you’re helping everyone, you deserve to have someone help you, and I want you to let me be that person, Peter.”

Pinching the palm of his hand, Peter spotted Flash and Michelle returning with ice, ointment and bandages in hand, and he knew that he had to be quick. “It would really help me if you went out to dinner with me. Just being with you would help me. That’s why I took the picture of you. Every day that I felt like I was drowning, I would look at you, well the picture of you, and it would help me to breath again.”

“Pick me up on Saturday. I’ll be ready at 7:30,” she agreed, much to not only Peter’s, but Flash’s surprise.

“Come on!” Flash hissed, “how is it that Parker gets a date with a hot girl after he hides in the bushes and takes secret pictures of her? What the hell is going on right now? Do I live in the twilight zone?”

“For fucks sake, Flash.” Michelle muttered, turning to him with squared shoulders, “she clearly knew that he was taking the photos of her. Who would smile while reading ‘The Flowers of Evil?’ And beyond that, she’s liked him for months and he’s liked her for months. All you’ve really done is finally bring them closer together. Congratulations Flash, your plan has officially backfired.”

Flash groaned throughout the rest of the day and Michelle planned on teasing him for the rest of the school year. The girl’s cheeks were flushed pink until she went to sleep, and Peter couldn’t stop smiling, even though it only made the split in his lip worse.

The moment I became obsessed with Elorcan:

“Elide (…) found herself not afraid of anything as he did it again, kissing one corner of her mouth, then the other. Such gentle, patient kisses- his hands equally so as they stroked the hair back from her brow, as they trailed over her hips, her ribs.”

Why? Why THIS exact moment? If this was a description of Chaol or Dorian or even Rowan, I would probably not freak at all. But we are talking about LORCAN SALVATERRE, the dude that’s been in love with a crazy bitch for centuries, the dude that’s been described as cold and ruthless and always getting what he wants. From these descriptions alone, I would have guessed Lorcan to be really really forward when it comes to sex (which he is), but also a little impatient- someone who just goes for it without really considering his partner’s wants and needs.

Lorcan is described as having “unending cold rage”, caring only for himself and maybe Maeve. Why should he be a considerate, attentive guy in bed????? Wouldn’t fit the character he’s being described as. Logically, you wouldn’t put Lorcan into the cute/fluffy/ perfect fae boyfriend box.

But. BUT. When he’s getting it on with Elide, he’s described as gentle and patient. He’s not pulling her clothes off after a few seconds, he’s not violently kissing her or being urgent in any way. He doesn’t even seem to restrain himself. He’s just…enjoying that they are taking it slow for now.

AND THATS WHAT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO ME!!!!! Because Lorcan is NOT a gentle and patient person- look at his feud with Aelin, Rowan, the Carde, basically the whole world. He manages to pick a fight with everyone after a few seconds. But with Elide, he forgets all of that- he’s knows how precious Elide is and that he can’t pull any of that bullshit with her. I bet if she told him that she wanted to wait 5 years before sleeping with him, he wouldn’t even BLINK and just accept that.

And I also bet Lorcan would NOT do that for everyone. He’s not considerate like  Dorian, or trying to do the right thing like Chaol. I bet Lorcan has pissed a lot of his lovers off. I bet he’s grown annoyed and impatient with a lot of them, and I bet all those years of pining after Maeve also made him really cold hearted and bitter. I bet there have been more than a few times where he didn’t care about how things felt for his partner.

But with Elide, he is suddenly gentle. He is patient. That centuries- old demi-fae, who has slaughtered and schemed and betrayed, who had probably slept with hundreds of women and who is described as muscular and hulking and honestly a little scary- that man transforms into someone else entirely.

That quote just made that so obvious to me. And that, my friends, was the moment I became utter, desperate Elorcan TRASH.

You’re His Ex Girlfriend and You See His New Girlfriend Wearing Your T-Shirt: Part 2

Part 1

Masterlist linked in bio

Growing up, people told Y/n that you could die from a broken heart—that the stress on your heart strings could weaken, and all that’s left is the pain in your chest.

Y/n thought her heart would fail her, rupture all that’s left of her and leave her body to decompose. She believed that, if her broken heart wasn’t going to kill her, loneliness and lack of sleep would push her towards her end.

Moving on—something that seemed so simple yet so impossible for Y/n to do.

When the hurt in her chest and the hallucinations from exhaustion started to become too much for her to handle, she was willing to do anything to help herself. She started taking up yoga sessions, started writing music, even started cooking in an attempt to bring herself back from whatever hell she was in.

She even considered moving on; meeting a man at a bar and getting to know more about him rather than his drink order. But something seemed so wrong about that—something was unsettled inside of her at the thought of being with someone who wasn’t Harry.

The image of Jessica in Harry and Y/n’s t-shirt was enough to haunt her nearly every hour of the day. She started going mental, constantly wondering what they were doing together in the moments she was most vulnerable. She wondered about their love life, their future, their interests. She thought about everything.

It wasn’t until Gabby was determined to mend the broken girl raiding her house, finding any possible excuse to give her a sense of life again, that Y/n found the slightest bit of hope.

Y/n was losing it, entirely, and Gabby refused to continue being a bystander.

Gabby had set Y/n up on a blind date only a couple weeks back, practically begging her to seize every opportunity she possibly can to get over Harry. It was all Gabby could do to help her, considering nothing quite helped Y/n’s well-being since the breakup.

“Oh, he’s just so perfect!” Gabby squealed, clapping her hands before gripping tightly around Y/n’s wrists in excitement. “He’s gorgeous! Amazing blue eyes—breathtaking, really! And he’s so sweet, Y/n! I haven’t met a single person who’s disliked him and he’s such an amazing photographer! And his teeth! His teeth are marvelous! Do you know how hard it is nowadays to find a man with nice teeth? I mean—“

By then, Y/n had dozed off, and it wasn’t for any personal reason against Gabby; she’s appreciated every bit of hard work to help her through the heartbreak Y/n’s been dealing with nearly half of a year now. It’s just that she wasn’t ready to move on, not that she didn’t want to.

It had been nearly five months, which may seem like such an abundance of time to rid feelings for somebody, but did time really help moving on from someone she’d planned to spend the rest of her life with? It seemed nearly impossible. She could barely see herself looking at other men in a romantic sense, how could she see herself going on a date with somebody? Especially when she was still in love with somebody else?

She was biting the bullet with letting time heal her, but she felt that was the only way. Nothing more could help her. If anything, she believed dating would make it worse, if she were being honest.

But the look of excitement Gabby had at the mere thought of Y/n being happy again was something Y/n found nearly impossible to resist. Besides, she had definitely been overstaying her welcome at Gabby’s house no matter how much Gabby’s tried to deny it and has put so much stress onto her that maybe, just maybe, doing this one favor for all that she’s done for her.

“So, what do you say?”

Y/n blinked harshly when Gabby’s voice drowned out all the scrambled thoughts in her head, shaking her head slightly to regain her understanding of reality.

“What?”

“Monmouth Coffee Shop at noon tomorrow. Dan really wants to meet you, Y/n! Please!”

Y/n’s eyes widened, snapping her head up to meet Gabby’s hopeful eyes.

“The Monmouth?! Are you crazy?! That’s Harry’s favorite coffee shop, you know that! Dan and Harry probably know each other, that’s how much he goes there!”

Gabby’s eyes narrowed as her lips pursed, gaze directing toward the ceiling in thought.

“Harry? Harry who? I don’t remember who that is, never heard that name in my life.”

Her tone reeked with sarcasm, which made Y/n’s eyes nearly roll to the back of her head. As much as she wished Gabby’s negative remarks about Harry were comedic, there was always something about them that infuriated her. She always supposed it was the instinctual aspect of loving someone so much.

Gabby sighed as she reached her hand up to rub Y/n’s shoulder gently.

“Look,” she began, “you’re my best friend and I hate seeing you like this. You’re not the same Y/n I always knew, and I think you see yourself that way, too. And in all honesty, I don’t give a fuck about Harry anymore. As sadistic and twisted as it sounds, I don’t care about his emotions, or how he feels. He did this to you. He killed a part of you and I feel it’s my obligation to help you through this. So, please, go out with Dan tomorrow. He works at Monmouth, he’ll meet you before his shift starts at 1:30.”

Gabby’s arm slid off of Y/n’s shoulder at the shadow of uncertainty behind her eyes. Even though Gabby understood all the pain and hesitation, she didn’t want to see Y/n suffer another day. She just couldn’t.

“Please,” she whimpered, “Dan has been the only sense of hope I’ve gotten to make you happy again. Just do this one thing, please? And if it doesn’t work, then you can blame me. I’m just trying here.”

Y/n coughed slightly, her inability to say no wearing off of her at Gabby’s desperate pleads. It was an opportunity to turn things back around in her life, and if it didn’t go as planned, she really didn’t have anything more to lose.

She nods her head softly.

“Yeah—yeah, okay. I’ll meet him.”

Maybe this would be good for her.

Dan is lovely, always caring for Y/n and making sure she feels like loyalty whenever she’s around. He puts her first, in everything, and made a rule that the date can’t end until I hear you laugh at least six times.

It’s cute, really, how effortless he is at giving someone so much attention. Y/n likes it—loves it, even, but it still never feels right to her. She sees something with him, but nothing long term, not in the way she sees Harry.

But he’s good for her now, when she’s at her worst and needs someone to be there for her. He’s able to provide her with the company she desperately needs in order to cure the possible fatalities that came with her broken heart.

“Thank you for the coffee, it was great.” Y/n smiles softly, her cheeks blushing slightly as she traces the rim of her coffee cup.

It’s nearly their tenth date, and they still meet at the Monmouth at noon before his shift. It’s become a routine for them, meeting together at noon before Dan drops her off at the parking station. It became something they both looked forward to throughout their week, and soon became more of a tradition between them.

Dan grins, almost instinctively wrapping his arms around Y/n’s shoulders so that her head makes rest on his chest. He sighs, pressing a small kiss to the top of her head before resting his chin where his lips once were.

“Of course. I’ll be getting out at around 6 o‘clock so maybe I can stop by for a few? Maybe watch a movie?”

He knows the answer before she says it—his constant attempts to get closer to her always seeming to fail. There’s always a hesitation, or always an excuse to prevent them from being alone together.

He’s well aware that there are parts of her that need to be fixed, still being completely destructed by her ex-lover. He’s tried tirelessly to get her to open up and to trust him, but there’s a thick barrier still in their way of each other. It disheartens him, to know she refuses to let him in.

She sighs, guilt evident in her breath as she softly pushes away from him.

She does that often, he’s noticed it.

She feels horrible for doing so every time. Everything between them has remained stagnant, nothing being built so that nothing could be knocked down. It’s not that Y/n doesn’t trust him, it’s that Y/n doesn’t trust herself. She’s still in love with someone else, and she can’t hurt Dan—not in that way.

“I think I’m just going to—“

“Yeah, I know.” Dan nods, arms moving to cross at his chest, “I get it. Just like every other time.”

Y/n reaches her shaking fingers to brush her hair behind her ear, guilt flashing in her eyes as she refuses to meet his gaze. She’s familiar with the look he has on his face well enough to know he’s upset again, being constantly shut down by her.

“I’m so sorry, Dan.” She whispers, “But I’m trying. I want to keep trying with you. If you let me.”

He looks unconvinced, as he’s been hearing this for a while now. But something inside of him can’t quit her, no matter how much his intuition tells him she’s a dead end. Maybe he feels sorry for her on a level he’s never felt sorrow for somebody else. No matter how much she hides it, she really does need him. Not in a romantic level, but she does need him to show her that he cares for her and that he’ll always be there. She needs that sense of security, and he’s the only one that can provide it for her.

“Yeah,” he nods, “we can keep trying. It’s okay, I’m here for you.“

Harry had been living in his studio for the past couple of weeks. It certainly wasn’t ideal, but it was much better than sleeping on his and Y/n’s bed—alone.

That’s all he’s felt since their break up—lonely. It’s quite strange, considering Harry had millions of supporters, an entire band throughout his solo career, and producers around him nearly every hour of the day. He used to complain that he never had alone time anymore, that between all the constant traveling and being at the peak of his career, it was hard to find time for himself.

But now, in the midst of everything happening in his life, he wishes to feel that sort of hustle again.

Y/n was the person that kept him grounded through everything. She was the one consistency in his life, which gave him all the more reasons to love her. Whenever he was overwhelmed with the pressure put on him, or feeling homesick during his travels, she was always the one to keep him at bay and give him a sense of clarity.

Home hadn’t become a house, instead, Y/n’s heart. Wherever she was, he felt at home. Even when she was half way across the world, it was her voice that brought him back and reminded him that, no matter how much he missed the walls of familiarity, home was always a phone call away. She gave him that sense of comfort everywhere she went, it was truly amazing.

And when he broke up with Y/n, he didn’t think of how much everything around him would be affected. He thought time would do them best—would help mend the relationship that seemed to be collapsing beneath their feet. Their connections were lost, replaces by uncomfortable silences and unbarring arguments.

He didn’t think of the consequences when he did it. He didn’t think about how lost he’d become, or how he had no place to call home, or how there was no consistency in his life anymore. There were so many aspects of his life that Y/n had given him—so much of them that he didn’t realize until she moved out.

It was the exact reason he started dating Jessica. She was a great distraction, a beautiful woman to take his mind off of everything.

They weren’t much of anything. Nothing about them was exclusive besides what the media saw of them: boyfriend and girlfriend moving in together in London. It was far from the truth, really. He was with her to terminate his dry spell and rid his loneliness, and she was with him because he infatuated her.

He ended it all, though, that same morning Y/n found Jessica wearing their shirt. The entire incident gave him a realization; that nobody could fill his void like Y/n did.

The fear of losing her forever and making her believe he was in love with somebody else was enough to break him out of his selfish ways. She had been waiting for him for months, and when he returned, he wasn’t the same man he was.

Not only did Harry know that Y/n lost all her faith in him—he lost all faith in himself, as well.

“I’m so screwed, Nick. I fucked up everything. Everything.”

Harry was laying with his back flat against the studio couch, hands rubbing down his face as he tried to steady his harsh breathing.

It was just after he had run into Y/n at the grocery store, where she had seen Jessica wearing Harry and Y/n’s t-shirt. Although he was practically mute during the encounter, everything hit him at once after Y/n and Gabby walked out.

He called Nick in a hurry, incoherent and completely disoriented from the tears he’d broken down into. Everything he thought would be mended completely fell down on them—all because of him.

“Jessica was wearing the shirt with the—fuck, you know the shirt, and Y/n saw and she was such a mess, Nick. I didn’t even say anything to her, she was practically begging me to say something and I didn’t say a word.”

Nick sat cross-armed on one of the chairs, directly across from Harry. He wished he could have felt remorse seeing Harry in such distress, however, he never agreed with Harry’s actions and made it clear numerous times. In his eyes, this was karma’s ticking time bomb.

“You tend to be a real jackass sometimes, you know that?”

Harry lifted himself up so that he could sit properly. His body slumped against the back of the couch, head rested in his palm as he coughed uncomfortably at Nick’s choice of words.

“You let go of the best thing that’s ever happened to you and then you just move on, as if she meant nothing, and you think you just fucked it all up now? Over the goddamn t-shirt?”

Harry scowled at him.

“I haven’t moved on, and it’s more than just a t-shirt, you know that. That was ours.” Harry defended, glaring over at his direction.

“So why was Jessica wearing it after you fucked her on the bed you and Y/n shared every night for the past three years?”

Something about Nick’s words gave Harry a foul taste in his mouth. As much as he wished Nick didn’t say it in that way, that’s exactly what Harry did, and knowing he had to live with that for the rest of his life made his stomach flip inside of him.

He really did fuck it up. Nothing he did was excusable, nothing he did was forgivable. He betrayed the one woman he loved so dearly—the one woman he’d always consider his soulmate. He really, really fucked it up.

He gulped as he tried to find words to justify himself. There was really nothing he could say.

“She—she had just put it on while I was sleeping and when—when I noticed she just wouldn’t shut up about breakfast and I couldn’t just be like ‘Hey, Jess, could you take off that shirt? That belonged to me and my ex-girlfriend and I don’t appreciate it?’ How could I do that?”

He sighed, leaning his face into the palm of his hands as he looked back onto his experiences with Jessica. Was it all worth it? Was she really worth all of this?

“She means nothing to me, Nick. I lost the girl I love for somebody who doesn’t mean anything to me.” He whispered, “How do I live knowing that?”

It’s nearly two in the afternoon when Harry finally decides to leave his studio. He’s been working on some songs he found himself writing during his free time, something he found therapeutic throughout the past couple of months.

Recording and writing have become the only distractions that seem to work for Harry. Everything else became temporary. Writing out his emotions and singing the words he wishes he could say has been the only sense of closure he’s had in a while.

“Dan! Long time no see!” Harry smiles when he enters Monmouth, a familiar face being something he finds so relieving.

Dan looks up from his register, reaching over the counter to give Harry a hug as he greets him enthusiastically.

“Haven’t seen you in quite a while. On your lunch break?”

Harry nods as his eyes squint, reaching for the back of his neck as he reads over the menu.

“Yeah, kind of in a hurry today if you don’t mind. Can I just get a medium coffee with almond milk, please? And a slice of apple pie, feeling kind of brisk today.”

Dan works his fingers across the cash register, yelling out his order to the barista before making small talk about the weather. Considering Harry hasn’t been seen in Monmouth nearly as much as he used to, they both found it nice to catch up with each other for the short while they’ve been distanced.

When Dan reaches over to give Harry his spare change, an all too familiar silver ring catches his attention immediately. At first glance, he swears his heart stopped beating.

There’s no way, there’s just no way that could be the ring Harry gave to Y/n. Dan and Y/n have never met before, considering she had only visited here a handful of times during Harry’s lunch break. And even then, she would just stand patiently by the door while Harry waited to retrieve his order.

There’s just no way, but the top of the rose has a particular rust on it that resembles Harry’s perfectly—and no matter how long it’s been since he’s seen it, he’ll never forget what it looks like.

Harry’s hand grips onto Dan’s wrist instead of reaching out to grab the spare change laying upon his palm, flipping over his hand to inspect the silver ring snug almost too perfectly around his finger. He’s aggressive, movements harsh and face tight with anger, but at this point in time, the last thing Harry’s worried about is Dan’s slightly intimidated composure.

“Where did you get this?”

Unlike his demeanor, his voice is soft and breaking between each word. There’s an unrecognizable shift in his eyes when he sees the wear and tear Harry knows he caused before gifting it to Y/n. This is most definitely his, and knowing Y/n was the one who gave it to him makes him nearly throw up all the contents in his stomach.

“Girlfriend gave it to me,” Dan smiles “well, not really my girlfriend yet. But you know how they are. I told her I liked it and she insisted I have it.”

Harry swallows the lump in his throat, making him nearly whimper when he opens his mouth to speak.

He’s never felt so much pain before. The breaking that was once only in his heart spread like wildfire across every bone and ligament in his body. It burns, the sudden realization that Y/n has a boyfriend, that Y/n is no longer going to be there—waiting for him—the way he always expected her to be, that Y/n has taken it upon herself to seek revenge on him so that he can feel everything she felt that one Sunday morning at the grocery store.

And it’s then he realizes that this is nothing compared to everything he’s put her through. In his favor, this is just a stupid ring her gave her for her birthday because he loved the way she twisted it around his finger. It didn’t have much value between them, just something small they shared. He couldn’t imagine the hurt he would have now, standing her, if Dan were wearing their Lover t-shirt.

“Wh—What’s her name?”

His voice is in a whisper now, only the slightest bit of hope draining from his body when he hears Dan speak again.

“Y/n. She’s a good girl, you’d like her.”

Harry almost laughs. You’d like her. He has no idea, he’s in love with her.

It’s as if every part of Harry’s body begins to shut down. Maybe it’s from the shock, or the overbearing pain he feels in his chest, but he suddenly begins to feel lightheaded. His muscles turn numb and all his orientation seems to scramble as if he’s intoxicated.

Dan’s eyes narrow when he sees all the color drain from his face, his eyes widened and soaked with tears. He watches as he nearly falls backward, only to balance himself with his foot when he takes a proper step away from the counter.

“Harry? Harry, you alright?”

Never fucking say my name again is the first proper thought that his brain can register. But his throat is tight and his tongue is numb. He attempts to take a breath of air, but he feels like his lungs are collapsing in his chest, preventing him from doing anything besides stumble uncoordinatedly out of the Monmouth doors.

He’s falling apart—that’s exactly what it feels like. He feels like every limb is falling from his body as he walks towards his car. He doesn’t know exactly how he’s moving, even if he’s stumbling on his own two feet and colliding into stranger’s bodies as he does so, he doesn’t understand how his body finds the strength to keep moving.

Y/n moved on. Y/n’s dating Dan. Y/n gave his ring to him. It’s all over, everything is over.

“No” he mumbles frantically, jealously flowing in his veins, chest heaving from the sobs that are threatening to spill out of him, “no, no no no.”

He starts to wonder where he’s missed it, and exactly how long it’s been since Y/n moved on. She was so broken at the grocery store the other week; what could have possibly altered her feelings that quickly? Did Dan really impact her that much?

But that’s his girl. Y/n is his girl, she’s the one he was so sure he was going to spend the rest of his life with. Even with Jessica, even with everything that’s happened, Y/n is his soulmate, and there isn’t anything in the world that can convince him otherwise.

Nobody is going to take her from him. He refuses to believe she belongs to somebody that isn’t him; there isn’t an atom in his body that doubts their companionship.

Before he thinks twice—before he really gives himself a chance to stop himself—Harry slides his cell phone out of his back pocket once he reaches his car. He slumps against the hood as his fingers work furiously across his screen.

There has to be something, at least some sort of proof that this is really happening to him, that this isn’t in a nightmare he can easily wake himself out of. There had to have been a hint, a warning for him to have. She would have never moved on without saying something to him. They were so strong together, she would have never left without closure.

Nothing about it makes sense.

And then, he sees it.

He falls to his knees, hitting the concrete harshly below him. His body gave out from beneath him, his muscles and bones failing him.

It’s there, right in front of him, mocking him and all the shitty decisions he’s made. It’s there—on Y/n’s private Instagram page—a picture of Dan holding Y/n’s hand on top of a table in Monmouth, Harry’s ring wrapped perfectly around his pointer finger.

FACTS ABOUT CONNOR MURPHY (spoilers)

So I have decided to post all the facts and hints about Connor Murphy’s past that are shown in the musical. It’s hard to make out considering people in the fandom usually focus on the lies Evan tells to figure out Connor’s personality.

To get this conclusion (which I will post in a second) I literally skipped all scenes concerning Evan’s lies and went directly to the Murphy family and what they say. None of these facts/hints involve what Evan said about Connor.

First of all, I’ll say now that I have put my own interpretation on each of these facts.

And so, I will put all FACTS in BOLD.
Anything out of bold is my own interpretation and how I see it to be. It’s up to you to agree with me or disagree.

First, I will post my conclusions on each family member, and then afterwards, I will post the reasons for each one.

Zoe

Zoe was an emotional and verbal abuse victim. There is no evidence of physical abuse, although there were threats that could have potentially led to that. She has all the right to not grieve over Connor, in all honesty, she could have sent him to the police for what he did, but as an abuse victim, that is very hard to do. Connor was probably the cause of most of her insecurities and she hated him for that. The unhealthy habit of taking out his anger on the nearest person to him probably made him lash out at his sister whenever he had a panic attack. Judging by how he really did care enough to keep the creepy letter about his sister, written by Evan, in his pocket for 3 days before he committed suicide, it’s safe to say that he really regretted being mean to his sister and actually cared about her.

Connor’s mom, Cynthia

Connor’s mom was a woman obsessed with reputation. She’s known as the rich man’s wife, and wants more than anything to be a regular family. But because her son had mental illnesses, her perfect image was ruined. She acted as though she was there for him but when it came down to it, she did nothing. She pushed for therapy but after a while, her husband took him out of it because “it wasn’t worth the money,” and she basically went, “welp, I tried.” I will quote what I say later: Connor’s mom might not actually be sad that her son is gone, but rather, she’s ashamed that her family actually doesn’t care. It seems like Connor’s mom is filled with regret for not being there for her son, and she’s forcing her family to act like they regretted it too, because that’s what a real family should have been like. But this is only a personal theory.

Connor’s dad, Larry

Connor’s dad might be one of the main sources of his depression. It is very obvious to me that Connor’s dad believed him to be a disappointment. He didn’t grieve for his dead son and only played along to make his wife happy. He’s annoyed by the whole situation. It even seemed like he hated the fact that there was fake remnants of his son in Evan. Almost like he wished Connor wasn’t friends with Evan so he could just forget all about him and not need to deal with it. At some point he was a kind father. When they went to the orchard together for picnics, it seems like they were a happy family. Connor’s dad had played with their toy plane together and had some great memories. The whole family practically forgot about this, though. Connor’s dad didn’t cry at his own dead son’s funeral. I think that sums it up.

Connor Murphy

Connor was a complicated person. He had many different mental illnesses. I could research which ones he probably had, but there’s probably already a post somewhere on it already. One thing for sure, is that he was unstable. He might not have been like that his whole life, but at the time of knowing him, the time he was briefly alive in the show, he was incredibly unstable. Everything and anything could set him off, and he probably hated that about himself as well. Pushing away everyone near him that could possibly help and hating himself for doing so, spiraling himself into a closed minded world of self-hate and regret, which is something that many people can relate to, including me. He did a lot of horrible things to his sister and to his family. I don’t blame his family for not actually grieving him, he was a really bad person. The problem is, he could have been a good person as well. He had all the potential to get better. He talked to Evan, probably wishing to say sorry about pushing him earlier in the hall. He was trying, he wanted to try. He wanted to get better. He just gave up too soon.

This post is very long! I’m sorry. If you’d like to read more, I’m putting the reasons I’ve come to these conclusions under the cut.

Remember, ALL FACTS ARE IN BOLD. Anything else is my personal interpretation.

Supercut

Summary:

Marinette loves her friends and Adrien can’t deal. Post-reveal, pre-relationship.

Also on AO3 and FF.net

Marinette Dupain-Cheng loved with a fierce sort of affection that gently destroyed him.

She wasn’t grand gestures or loud declarations or flashy devotion.

She was thoughtful moments and quiet attention and unwavering loyalty.

It took Adrien an embarrassingly long time to recognize it for what it was.  When everything he knew was detachment and afterthought his compass for affection was nearly non-existent.  He knew Nathalie’s cold comfort and his father’s broken promises and Chloe’s noisy fawning. He knew conditions and strings and if-thens.

He didn’t understand second chances.

Striving. Everyone in his life was striving.

They put their careers, their hopes, their reputation on his shoulders and poked and prodded and pulled until he smiled just right and spoke just so and moved just there.

And he didn’t know any different.

Until he did.

She loved in the little ways.

She loved in passing moments and quiet gestures and thoughtfully in a way that was almost careless.  In a way that was so very Marinette.

Adrien had always been careful, but in the five weeks since he found out the Truth he felt like his shoes were made of glass and every next step could be the one to shatter him.

A problem when every shy smile, confused blush, and rapid fluttering of blue, blue eyes made him feel like dancing, glass be damned.

Marinette was Ladybug.

In removing the mask he had been gifted with the knowledge that his best friend was never really as far away as she seemed.  Ladybug was untouchable.  Marinette was so very, very there.

It somehow made everything more vivid, more terrifying,

just more.

It had been painfully awkward of course. Because of course it was when she was so adamant about keeping their identities a secret.

Fortunately for him, Marinette never was good at telling the restrooms apart.

Does Hiyori likes Yato?

Okay! So.. I’ve always seen posts about;
“Does YATO likes her?”
And what about Hiyori?
Does she likes him or he’s just a friend?

The reasons that i think that Hiyori likes Yato:
1. His smell is her favourite smell.
2. The moment that they met, she was thinking about that she doesn’t have someone that she like.

3. Hiyori was the first human ever to save him many times.

4. “ I will never forget you”. She doesn’t want to cut their ties and lose her memories about him and Yukine.

Or..

5. “ I want to stay with you a little longer..!” , “I want to be with Yato more!”

6. She got jealous when Yato kissed Bishamon!

7. She had never lie to him ( and she can’t )

8. She’s always blushing when Yato’s around her.
9. She is always nervous and blushing, when somebody ask her “Do you love Yato” or something in that stuff.

AND EVEN…

10. She made him his own shire and clay Capyper Inaris.

11. She isn’t even shy when she’s sitting half-naked next to him!

12. Hiyori always take care of him.
13. She is his first permanent believer and prays for him.

14.  Even persons in their environment can realize something.

15. Her tail is often wrapped around Yato.

I think that Hiyori likes him but she doesn’t know it yet. Just wait.

bad | 01

He was the cliché bad boy. He was the guy you couldn’t stand. He was the handsome, hot kid who made girls go weak in the knees. He was a brat. You had never liked him one bit, but you had also never gotten involved with anything concerning him. Until one day, when you were in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Q&A Jem and Emma

sarahalavi322 said:Hey Cassie, I was wondering why Jessa did not ever come visit the blackthorns/Emma. I know Jem sent little gifts and they were looking for kit, but 5 years of not seeing someone after you say you want to be there is a long time. Is there a reason why they are so distant besides searching for kit or warlock sickness? No one able to remember their wedding is throwing me off and it doesn’t add up. Jem is my fav character. I wish that he could be there for Emma more and it’s sad that he isn’t 😢

It is sad. Sometimes people are separated for reasons they can’t control, and sometimes misunderstandings play into that, as they did here.

Your timing is a bit off — Jem didn’t tell Emma he wanted to be there for her five years before he saw her again. He only saw her and introduced himself to her at her parabatai ceremony — two years before he saw her again (aside from a wedding none of the Blackthorns or Emma remembers, which is not a meeting). And unless I’m remembering incorrectly, he’s pretty clear then that he and Tessa are in the middle of a dangerous search, and I don’t think he intends or tries to get Emma’s hopes up that he’ll be there a lot — he knows he has to find the Lost Herondale first.

[Yep, updated to add:

““But I don’t know when I can be with you again,” he said. “Tessa and I, we have to find something. Something important.” He hesitated. “It will be dangerous looking for it, but once it’s found I’d like to be part of your life once more. Like a sort of uncle.””

That couldn’t be clearer. Once it’s found, I’d like to be part of your life. In no way is he suggesting he’s going to be there for Emma as an uncle/friend before Kit’s life is saved, which are exactly the priorities anyone who knows and loves Tessa and Jem would expect them to have.]

Now, we may know that Emma lives in a precarious situation with an unfit guardian. But Jem doesn’t — he doesn’t live anywhere near Los Angeles, or in fact have any permanent home, since he’s engaged in a worldwide search for Kit! As far as he knows, the kids all live a happy life with their uncle and their wonderful tutor, Diana. They lost their parents tragically, but so did he — and he didn’t need someone to swoop in and rescue him from his life with Will and Henry and Charlotte (who he considered as his real family — Jem would never think blood and a matching last name made people family; he would always think love and caring was the important aspect). Elias never really visited and Jem didn’t mind (more on Elias in TLH). As far as Jem is concerned, he’s something of an extra relative, and he’s not even sure how much Emma would want to see him and how much she’d think it was a kind of annoying visit from a distant relation. (She would love to see him, but Jem isn’t the sort to assume that.) Plus, Jem is only barely adjusting to life as a non-Silent Brother and probably doesn’t think of himself as a fit mentor for anyone. Now, I think he’d probably be great, but that doesn’t mean he thinks it. We can’t expect characters to view themselves the way we view them (”I am a popular character and will surely be welcome wherever I go!”) They’re going to have insecurities, and complicated feelings.

Lastly, looking for the Lost Herondale isn’t just because Jem and Tessa like Herondales. Kit isn’t even descended from Will. It’s partly because of a duty to the family, but partly because Kit is more than a Herondale: his heritage on his mother’s side makes him very important in the upcoming situations of TDA and TWP. Tessa and Jem knew they were racing against the clock to save Kit’s life before someone else figured that out: Jem didn’t think he had to race the clock to save Emma’s.

(Also a lot of times we wish that characters could be there to help other characters, but from a purely writing perspective, it would destroy the story. Julian and Emma’s story only works because there was no responsible adult around for five years except Diana, and she was forced to keep secrets that prevented her from changing the situation. It would have been nice to have Aline and Helen around, too* — it would have made for much happier characters, but unfortunately totally wrecked the story I had to tell about the consequences of prejudice and the results of growing up parented by a sibling. It’s not that no YA story can survive responsible adults blocking the kids’ attempts at agency at every turn, but this one couldn’t.)

*On the plus side, one of the fun things about writing Eldest Curses is being able to go back in time, so we’ll see Helen and Aline meet and fall in love in TEC.

”They couldn’t keep me company as humans, so they kept me company as animals.”
  • Remus says this devoid of emotion, but he remembers
  • So, of course, in first year, October, when Remus disappeared for the first full moon, all the Marauders are very, very curious.
  • Because Remus was a very quiet boy, and no one talks to him really very much. But the moment he disappeared, the three boys are intrigued.
  • James, really, is very concerned. “But, Sirius, what if he got lost in the castle and is rotting in a cupboard somewhere?” (They know he gets out of bed at night to explore. He really is better at it than them. They were caught twice, and he has never been caught and it really is unfair. “He’s wasting his talents on the library,” Sirius says often.”)
  • Sirius is very intrigued and plain nosy sometimes. “James, it’s a quest! We have to find him!”
  • Peter is very excited at the sound of a mystery. “What do you think is going on?” he asks enthusiastically. The enthusiasm is why James and Sirius like this new friend. Although not as clever, his enthusiasm is often effective.
  • When Remus comes back, they are even more concerned about his sick mother.
  • But then they realize this a flimsy excuse when Remus’ “sick” mother comes to greet him at the platform, her arms wide open.
  • They are now very perplexed.
  • When the new term begins, they become the Four Marauders when Remus comes to the rescue in a story involving a tractor (a muggle convention Peter had snuck into school somehow), Dorothy Townsend’s knickers, a dozen nifflers, chocolate syrup, Slytherins covered in bobtuber pus and a couple of Hufflepuffs hanging from the Quidditch goalposts (”That was not part of the plan, Sirius!”)
  • There were also Ravenclaws wandering around in talking in Iambic Pentameter, which had also not been the plan.
  • In fact, nothing had been the plan, and Remus had saved the whole school from turning into a giant Ferris wheel (which had also not been the plan).
  • “I wonder where we went wrong,” James questions later. “You flicked your wrist too much, this is how it’s done,” Remus shows them. Ever since then he is a Marauder.
  • Now it is much easier to track his differences, and much harder for Remus to lie. One month, his Aunt dies, then his rabbit dies. He does not explain the bruises and cuts very well. The Marauders try to trust him because friends trust each other.
  • However, when his Dead Aunt Delia comes to pick him up at the station, they realize something must be done. They research, research and research.
  • When they come back to term, they are still clueless. Lily finds them huddled together discussing Remus and snorts.“What is it, Evans?” James says rudely.
  • “How have you till not figured it out?” she laughs at them, but also terrified for Remus because James and Sirius are from the wizarding world and may have its prejudices.
  • One night in November, Remus is gone again and Sirius can’t sleep. The other Marauders can’t either. They realize because the curtains are open and its full moon and light goes off in Sirius’ head. But he doesn’t tell anyone because what if James and Peter hurt Remus?
  • He goes to Lily the next day while Remus is in the hospital. She begs him not to tell anyone, and Sirius swear that he won’t because he cares more than she’ll ever know. (Did he even know it then?)
  • But he remembers the Marauders made a pact to share secrets, not keep them. He realizes James is his best mate, who doesn’t see him as a Black, so why should Remus be a monster?
  • They confront him after he comes back. He is terrified. But instead of silver darts, they chuck golden-wrapped Honeydukes at him. Instead of the slurs, he hears praise for his strength. Instead of the scent of fear, he smells friendship and warmth.
  • James and Sirius are determined they can solve any problems.
  • In January, after an odd incident involving Mrs. Norris drinking Polyjuice potion and running around as Lucius Malfoy starkers paired with one of Hagrid’s giant pumpkins turning into a carriage (one of Remus’ muggle books, honestly muggles were the oddest) they run into an abandoned Transfiguration classroom.
  • They find books about Animagi, and so the adventure starts.
  • They do not tell Remus until they are ready.
  • And when they are, they make the bond to be the strongest friends.
  •  But, as Remus utters this sentence, he realizes that the strongest of bonds can be broken, and Sirius realizes that sometimes and old friend’s enthusiasm might be for the wrong reasons.
  • And as Remus utters these words, unwavering, not showing any emotion to Harry, surveying the three remaining, broken fragments of a once-legendary group, he remembers.
  • Because he knows that they don’t know all the jokes, the laughter, the naive hope behind this simple utterance.
  • Because now they do not have hope, the greatest luxury, anymore.
  • But he hopes hope lives on in the splitting image of James and the bright green eyes in front of him.
Summer Camp

Pairing: Y/N and Harry

Word Count: 4800

Prompt:

“I’m sorry.”

“For what? Not helping me with the table or being a dick to me the last month?” Y/N snaps, grabbing a fist full of his shirt.

Harry presses his lips in a line, he’s trying his hardest not to laugh. Y/N didn’t seem like the type to swear and she looked cute when she got mad. Her nose would flare in anger and she would let out an annoyed sigh. Her hand moved from his shirt to his arm and she gripped it tightly (and Harry felt like maybe, just maybe, it was supposed to hurt him).

“You’re cute when you’re mad,” Harry chuckles.

“And you’re cute when you’re not a fucking asshole,” Y/N retorts.

Harry laughs, his grip on her tighten slightly as he lets out a huge and loud laugh, “oi! What was that for?” he asks when he feels a sting on his arm.

“For being mean to me the last month, what did I do?” Y/N asks.

“Yeh did nothing,” Harry says, and he feels Y/N’s hand smack his arm again, “okay-fuck, you’re strong for such a little thing,” he grumbles, “I heard you talking about me to the rest, laughing, saying you would never date me-oi! That’s the last one you get, next one, I leave you here and you can hop all the way up the path on your own.”

Harry works at a summer camp where he really hates kids and people, but Y/N is an exception.

Harry hated people.

Baby Fever - Derek Hale

Request: can you do a derek hale imagine where the reader and derek are taking care of a baby for some reason and and derek doesn’t really know what to do but the reader does and its really fluffy and stuff

Requested by: Anon

Word count: 636

“Derek” I whisper, “someone’s at the door.” Derek lets out a small sigh.

“I can smell him from here, it’s just Stiles.” He replies, rolling over in the bed and pulling me into his chest. “Just leave him.”

“It’s one in the morning, it has to be somewhat important for him to be rocking up here.” Derek opens one of his eyes and looks at me.

“If I answer him, will you stop bugging me?” he jokes, chucking a shirt on.

“Maybe, depends how I’m feeling.” I say, smirking at him. Derek makes his way towards the front door, me close behind. As he gets close he looks back.

“Someone’s with him, I can smell the scent.” He burrows his eyebrows in confusion.

“Who is it?” I question, curiosity getting the best of me.

“I don’t know, I’ve never smelt this scent before.” Stiles knocks on the door again, this time louder and more forceful.

“I know you two are in there! Stop screwing each other and open the door!” He yells. Derek pulls the door wide open greasing the boy off.

“Stiles why do you have a baby?” I ask, raising an eyebrow at him, “who did you steal her from?” I put my hands on my hips in a disapproving action.

“No time to explain, I will later, just do me a favour and watch her for a bit” he quickly shoves the very little girl into a very un-expecting Derek’s arms. If it weren’t for Derek’s quick reflexes I would have been worried that he was going to drop her. “Thanks! I owe you guys!” Stiles shouts as he quickly scurries away.

I look over at Derek and burst into a fit of laughter. He held the baby an arm’s length away from his body.

“That’s not how you hold her.” I laugh, making my way towards him. I slowly push the baby towards Derek’s chest.

“Can’t you hold her?” he pleads. I give Derek a sad look.

“What? Sourwolf doesn’t know how to take care of a baby? Does he need a human to tell him what to do?” I say in a mocking tone while smirking at him. Derek growls at me in response, startling the baby and causing her to begin to cry.

Derek’s eyes grow wide and he frantically looks at me.

“What do I do?” he whispers, I roll my eyes and take the baby from him. I have never in my life seen Derek Hale be so gentle with something. He was acting as if the baby was glass and he was going to break her.

I gently rocked the baby in my arms, swaying her side to side.

“Just like this.” I smile, as the baby girl begins to calm down. “Your turn.” I give the baby back to him. Derek copies my actions and I suddenly feel a wave of baby fever. Seeing Derek so caring and soft with a baby almost made me jump him right there.

“You seriously feeling like that at a time like this?” Derek smirks, getting more confident with the baby. I roll my eyes and walk away.

“You seem to have this under control, I’m going to sleep.” I walk off and Derek quickly but carefully walks behind me.

“You can’t go to sleep, what if she needs to be changed? Or is hungry?” He says, as I get back into my bed.

“Can you two shut up please? I was just trying to enjoy my sleep but-“ Peter cuts himself off when he says Derek holding a baby.

“How-How long was I asleep for?” He asks, looking at us in confusion.

“9 months, y/n had gave birth 3 days ago.” Derek replies, blankly looking at Peter. Derek puts his hand to his head, rubbing it in confusion.

“I need a drink.”

His mouth came down on hers. And that was it. All the self-control he’d exerted over the past weeks went, like water crashing through a broken dam. Her arms came up around his neck and he pulled her against him, and she was soft and pliant but surprisingly strong like no one else he’d ever held. His hands flattened against her back, pressing her against him, and she was up on the tips of her toes, kissing him as fiercely as he was kissing her. He flicked his tongue along her lips, opening her mouth under his, and she tasted salty and sweet like faerie water. He clung to her more tightly, knotting his hands in her hair, trying to tell her, with the press of his mouth on hers, all the things he could never say out loud, I love you, I love you and I don’t care that you’re my sister, don’t be with him, don’t want him, don’t go with him. Be with me. Want me. Stay with me. I don’t know how to be without you.

'Oh no.'

‘Oh no.’

Tucker hadn’t meant for this to happen. Honestly his tight ass would have paid any amount of money in the world to PREVENT this from happening.

But it had happened. He had looked over at his life long best friend sleeping against his shoulder and had been struck by the very INTIMATE urge to kiss him on his adorable little freckled nose.

This wasn’t a good thing, because said best friend’s GIRLFRIEND was sleeping against his OTHER shoulder, and every time her hair fell across her face he had to nearly bite his own fingers to stop himself from brushing her fringe aside out of her long lashed eyes.

The three of them had sat down for a movie at Sam’s place, it was one of those few calm nights where the ghosts were chilling in the Zone and NOT causing any trouble for once. Danny was absolutely delighted to spend the night with his friends doing something that DIDN’T involve ghosts.

The two lovebirds had sat beside one another on the lounge, holding hands and being, quite frankly, UNBEARABLY adorable. Tucker warned them that he’d sit on them if they didn’t stop being so mushy and things predictably escalated until they were all but a tangle of goofy limbs hanging precariously off the two seater lounge.

By the time Tucker awoke it was late morning and he was seated firmly between Sam and Danny, both having cuddled right up to him in the night, his left arm was warm under Sam’s weight, but his entire right side was borderline numb beneath Danny’s clinging arms. Boy was a leach, he had always been clingy when they shared beds as kids but back then he didn’t have a big ol’ chunk of freezing cold ectoplasm sitting pretty in his chest.

But cold be damned Tucker was squished up with BOTH his crushes practically sleeping on top of him, no force on Earth or in the Zone could possibly make him move right now. He was staying right here where he could stew in his delight and guilt for the rest of eternity.

Until Danny stirred and an arm pressed against his bladder. Heck. He needed to pee, like, really REALLY needed to pee.

Tucker stayed nestled up in the cuddle pile for as long as he could stand it before heaving a sigh so heavy even Thor couldn’t lift it. Somehow he managed to wrangle himself out without waking either of his friends and he waddled to the bathroom to relieve himself.

He could hear his heartbeat in his ears as he stood in the cold tiled room. Why. No seriously, WHY. How in the fresh hell did he manage to fall head over heels not only for ONE of his best friends, but BOTH of them, and to top it off they were both DATING each other. He literally could not have picked a worse scenario.

He could wake up one morning with 'Bad Luck Tuck’ tattooed to his forehead and he still couldn’t possibly feel more unlucky than he did in this instant.

It took all of his willpower not to always end his and Sam’s constant meat vs vegan fights by smooching her on those enticingly smooth cheekbones, and Danny was even WORSE. Every time that asshole so much as SMILED Tucker’s heart would start thumping like it was trying to put him into cardiac arrest, it was just all those freckles and that little chip in his tooth and-

Oh God stooooop. He needed to stop, he needed to stop right the heck now before he became the first human being to pass out from overexposure to adorkableness. Honestly? Fuck his friends for being so cute. This was all their fault, they could at least have considered his feelings before growing up to be so adorably kissable.

He’d tried so hard to deny it to himself, he tried SO hard to fall back out of love with them but after waking up that morning nestled between those two precious asshats he realised that he had lost this battle, and he had lost it HARD.

But, at the very least, living with a superhero as your best friend taught you some pretty useful life skills. One of those skills being how to Lie Like a Motherfucker to Everyone You Care About. So without further ado Tucker washed his hands, took a moment to stare his lovestruck gaze away in the mirror, and went back out to throw a shoe at his best friend’s head for making his arm numb through the night.

He loved his friends, he loved them with everything he had and that was why he could never tell them how he felt.

————

'Oh no.’

Sam was honestly pissed, no scratch that, she was more than pissed. She was FURIOUS. Her rage burned with the intensity of her mother’s artificially whitened teeth, and she couldn’t even take it out on anyone, because the focus of her ire was her own stupid stupid brain.

She had always been equally close to both of her friends, in fact she had only very rarely hung out with one or the other alone, and every time she did it felt just… so uncomfortable. It took a long time to really sort out what that feeling was, but even when she did it made no sense.

It was GUILT, she felt GUILTY. Why did she feel guilty? Danny and Tucker sometimes hung out together without her, and that was fine, she was fine with it, they’d been friends since before she came along, but why couldn’t she do the same?

Every time one of them was over her house without the other it almost felt like she was cheating on someone, and that only got MORE disturbing after she and Danny started dating. Because suddenly? It very well COULD have been cheating.

But it wasn’t. And she kept telling herself it wasn’t. She had never kissed Tucker while she and Danny were dating. They had never even held hands.

But God damn, the realisation that had just struck her was enough to make her want to slap herself for ever becoming such a cliché piece of romance movie tripe.

She had just been sitting there, sipping on her smoothie when Tucker did that Thing. She hated that Thing. That Thing where he’d say something that he knew full well was the vocal equivalent of a tumblr shitpost but he ALSO knew she’d found it fucking hilarious and while she tried her damnedest not to let a smile loose he’d send her a big shit eating grin that made her stomach roll and her tongue feel dry. Yeah, THAT Thing.

She was crushing on Tucker, she was crushing on Tucker so hard. She was head over heels for her best friend, her BOYFRIEND’S best friend. Literally EVERYTHING about this situation was the reason she hated 90% of the movies she ever saw. Love triangles were the worst plague fiction had ever suffered and suddenly she realised it had spread it’s nasty little friendship killing tendrils into her life.

She was determined, however, not to fall into the awful trap that so many would think was inevitable, and she did so by keeping her mouth firmly shut about it. She had the willpower to go face to face against ghosts twice her size, and had been through more than one bout of emotional and mental manipulation by others of the ghostly kind. She was not about to lose this battle with herself and destroy not only her relationship, but also the much more valuable friendship she held with both boys.

Sam got up and gathered everyone’s Nasty Burger food scraps to throw into the bin, taking the brief moment to let her face twist in grief over what she’d have to do. With the rubbish gone and her resolve hardened, she slathered her face in smiles and ease, walking back to the table and acting with the skill and grace of someone who had been lying to protect her best-friend-turned-boyfriend for years. Her true feelings shoved somewhere deep between a pit of self-loathing and the core of her love for the boys she cared more about than anyone on this earth, including herself.

———-

'Oh no.’

Danny was in trouble. Danny was in so so so so SO much trouble.

Honestly? At first he hadn’t even realised he was doing it, Tucker had been his friend for such a long time, it had only seemed natural to invite him out everywhere when he and Sam made plans. But Danny was starting to realise the tension it was causing.

Neither of them said anything but sometimes Danny could pick up on… something. Of course he knew what it was, since he’d started officially dating Sam, Tucker had become somewhat of a third wheel.

Danny had never considered his friend to be out of place or unwanted, but he wasn’t sure Sam felt the same way. Maybe she wanted it just to be the two of them, maybe she just wanted some alone time with her boyfriend. She wouldn’t say anything, Danny figured she didn’t want to seem clingy or harsh but, why else would things suddenly start feeling so… weird?

He tried to make the effort to go on at least a couple dates with Sam without inviting Tucker, but honestly he just couldn’t help but think something was missing, and it really didn’t seem to be helping with Sam’s tension. She tried to hide it, she really did, and it wasn’t as though she was bad at it, Danny just knew her too well. Her and Tucker, he was hiding something too.

And Danny was starting to think he knew what it was. They had NOTICED.

He thought he was doing such a good job keeping his feelings from being too obvious, he was used to acting differently around certain people by now (having an alter ego did that to a guy), but obviously his friends knew him too well.

It might have been the touching, yep, yep it definitely could have been the touching. Danny was an extremely touchy person and his gentle caresses and nuzzles weren’t particularly picky about which friend received them. He definitely remembered a time when he straight up snuggled his face right into Tucker’s neck during what was probably an EXTREMELY un-platonic hug.

Other events on the 'Danny is a two timing doofus’ calendar included:

'Holding hands with both Sam AND Tucker while walking down the street.’

'Very delicately running his fingers over Tucker’s leg one time when he’d thrown them on Danny’s lap and honestly there was absolutely nothing heterosexual about that moment.’

'Every time Tucker laughed so hard he snorted Danny thought his heart would straight up melt into a puddle of goo, and then SAM would start doing that super adorable giggle that she was really self conscious of and her trying not to laugh made her pull this fACE and Tucker would lose his mind and start snorting all over again and-’

Danny had to stop himself right there before his heart completely dissolved because for the love of the Ancients his friends were both way too hecking precious for their own good and he loved them, he loved them sooo much. He loved them both.

And they probably knew it.

And boy that meant he was in deep trouble.

Would Sam break up with him? Would this ruin their friendship? Nobody was SAYING anything but Danny knew that stewing over something like this was just going to lead to an explosion of awkward raging teen angst worthy of a place on an MCR album.

If they weren’t gonna bring it up then Danny would just have to… get it out of the way.

Oh boy, he did not want to do this, nuh uh, no sir, he did not want to be standing in his bedroom shifting uncomfortably before his two beautiful, patient, wonderful friends. He would have loved to be sitting BETWEEN them however he deemed such a position to be quite, how the professionals would say, INA-FUCKING-PROPRIATE considering the subject at hand.

No, standing in front of them was slightly better, only slightly because Danny felt like an absolute nervous piece of half human trash. Maybe he could just jump out the window and throw himself into a dumpster, that would speed things along. He would probably end up there by the end of this conversation anyway.

He decided to just do it, stop beating around the blood blossom bush and just get it DONE. Unfortunately Danny hadn’t practiced what he was going to say beforehand, so when he finally resolved to just blurt it all out he literally did… just that.

“I’VE GOTTA HUGE CRUSH ON TUCKER AND I DUNNO WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.”

By the time his brain caught up to his words his dumpster diving plan was sounding significantly more appealing. There was probably some kind of banana skin pun he could have used there but he was far too stressed to figure it out.

Tucker didn’t respond, he appeared to be trying to bury his face into his hat. A kind of wheezing noise was coming out of him, Danny couldn’t tell if it was a good sound or a bad sound. Sam let out a long breath that whistled between her lip piercings.

“Holy shit me too.”

The Tucker sound continued, raising to a nearly imperceptible level. Danny was just beginning to think it might have been a Bad sound when Tucker pulled his face back into the world, his glasses were all fogged up but he stopped making the noise.

Sam and Danny both waited for him to say actual words but Tucker.exe seemed to have stopped working. Once he’d gained his breath he was back to wheezing into his hat. Sam hesitantly put a hand on his back.

“Are you actually okay or are you like, dying?”

Muffled words were said into the hat, none of which could be repeated around children. Danny was juuuust about to start attempting to will himself into spontaneous combustion when he recognised a very distinct sound emanating from the hat.

Snorting, Tucker was snorting like a god damn pig. Danny’s shaky legs gave out below him and he sat on the floor, shoving his face into the carpet as he laughed along with his best friend. He didn’t know what was happening right now, but he was Having Emotions and the floor just seemed like the right place for that.

Also he needed to look somewhere that wasn’t Sam. She was trying not to laugh and she was pulling That Face and Danny just couldn’t handle it right now and really the floor was great why didn’t he spend more time here.

Tucker felt as though he was finally ready to leave the comforting world of Hat Land and face the unbeLIEVABLE realisation that all of his dreams had just come true in a ten second span of time, he felt like he had just been blessed by the gods, his skin was clear, his crops were flourishing and world peace had been established. Today was a good day to start ugly sobbing in front of the two most important people in his life.

“I love both you guys too!!” Tucker half laughed, half cried, and then just straight up cried, “I’ve wa-wanted to smooch you both sooo bad for like, MONTHS!”

The moment his snorting turned to sobbing he was immediately accosted by a pair of equally snotty emotional wrecks. Danny, still on the floor, had plopped his head on Tucker’s lap and just started balling his eyes out, like he was really going for gold in 'Most Tears Shed on One Lap’. Sam, on the other hand, had commandeered Tucker’s upper half for a simple bone breaking, teary hug.

The next few hours were just chock full of used tissues, an inappropriate amount of snacks and some deep, heartfelt discussions about what the fuck their relationship was gonna be.

Honestly they were just happy to be so open and at ease with one another again, the sun poured into Danny’s bedroom window as the three of them dozed in the warm pool of light. Laying across one another, their imagined boundaries finally broken, they could finally talk shit about each other for making them feel so mushy.

“Oh NO.”

Paulina said out loud at the scene before her. Those three dorks were sitting together at their usual lunch table, all bunched up ridiculously close together and if she wasn’t mistaken she had just seen Danny turn around and KISS TUCKER ON THE MOUTH while Sam, his GIRLFRIEND, just watched?!

“Oh yes.” Star deadpanned, not seeming too fazed by the weirdness happening before her.

“I didn’t think those three could get any more confusing, but I have no idea what’s happening over there right now.” Paulina sat back in her chair, arms crossed.

“Really?” Star raised an eyebrow. “You seriously didn’t see this coming? Those three,” she pointed with a delicately painted pink nail, “have been perfect polygamy material for like, three years.”

“Perfect what material?” Paulina’s face was all scrunched up in confusion, her little nose wrinkled up and her lips pursed in just the cutest little pout-

Star’s stomach fluttered alarmingly.

'Oh no.’
