Antonio Cesaro (w/ Aksana) & Kassius Ohno Vs. Seth Rollins & CM Punk WWE NXT [October 17th, 2012]
*Sigh and release* That wonderful, brief moment in history when the Kings Of Wrestling reunited in the WWE. This match begins as a one-on-one encounter between CM Punk and Antonio Cesaro (remember when he had a first name?!), but quickly metamorphoses into something much bigger, and with added excitement. This is a great moment for NXT that I don’t think the fans at Full Sail quite understood. Firstly, the reuniting of the KOW. Then, the rekindling of the feud between Punk and Hero dating back to the early 2000s. There’s also the fact that both men were spearheaders in Ring Of Honor, and I believe that in time, all four men will have gone down in history as WWE World Heavyweight Champions.
Save for posting a series of “Fight Club” quotes on Instagram for the past few Monday nights, Seth Rollins has been relatively quiet concerning his condition following Samoa Joe’s ambush that tore The Architect’s right MCL.
At this point, it seems unlikely that Rollins will be able to compete at this year’s WrestleMania. That would mean that the former WWE Champion will miss his second consecutive Show of Shows, this time thanks to Triple H’s “Destroyer.” Will Rollins confirm this unfortunate news, or will he have another message entirely for The Cerebral Assassin and The Samoan Submission Specialist?
I’m still laughing about Henry Rollins getting turned down for the role of Negan. Like, the guy who actually inspired Negan’s entire look physically showed up in his Negan body and the casting director was like ‘nah.’
