and now she lost this too

anonymous asked:

Did Yao and Kiku have a best friend and/or love interest when they were alive?

Yao: “Some nomad traders from the north came down to China once… It was many years ago but I remember clearly a girl apart of the group who often spoke to me while she stayed there… I believe her name was… Kolko?  Ah, yes, Kolko. She was a very sweet girl… She’s dead now though…”

Kiku: “I had an unlikely friend group, you could say… Heracles, who was from Greece, had been my friend when I first started teaching. He was the first teacher too have greeted me to the school. On the other hand, Alfred was a new teacher from America. He was very lost since he moved to Japan, so I showed him around and eventually we became close. I wonder how they’re doing without me?”

So um, my friend’s betta has velvet. She lives in a rural area so there’s no store nearby that she can get medicine from right away. She raised the temperature of the 10-gallon tank by a few degrees with an adjustable heater, put a bit of aquarium salt in there, but neither of us are sure what to do now since she doesn’t have the medicine on hand. The parasites have already gotten into the fish’s gills and he’s acting very lethargic, which is unusual for him. His fins are clamped shut and he’s lost his appetite. She literally just had to put her other betta down two days ago, I’d hate for her to lose this boy too.

Suggestions? Comments?? Anything helps.

i keep watching the scene where he tells tulip over and over and it breaks my heart the way he says "no" and then just ....everything else, like he's on the verge of tears and what he said about how he had all the time in the world and never learned french. it really shows how he sees that his priorities weren't in line and now it's too late. fuck i'm sad.

GOD I KNOW i think that has been the saddest moment on the show so far for me next to the little tulip/jesse flashback where they got separated and jesse chased after the social services car she was taken away in :(((( I teared up at both scenes. and the acting in this one…Joe channeled so much tenderness and affection and heartbreaking sadness into that moment, and the way Ruth played Tulip’s surprise and immediate determination to help him in light of both her own lost biological child and her own lost relationship with Allie was equally incredible.

All of them had years that impacted them more than the others. Years that probably couldn’t be totally erased, that haunted their dreams, that showed up in a need to protect people, a fear of caring for those around you, an obsession with making sure everyone is telling the truth.

But part of Lucretia is still stuck in that year she spent alone. Part of her still feels that panic and responsibility, that if she doesn’t make the right decisions and hold fast in them, everyone will die.

Part of her is still waiting for the moment where she can say I made it and mean it.

Turn to her family and say We fucking made it.

It wasn’t supposed to take this long.

She was the only one who was supposed to get hurt.

She was supposed to chronicle their journey, instead she destroyed every trace.

She lost her family and in doing so lost herself as well, and there’s no time to find herself, not now, it’s too late for that.

(lost so much of that, too, and she feels each year in her bones)

Now, all Lucretia can think about is I have to save them all.

Some part of here will always be on that ship, staring into space, waiting for her friends to reappear.

We have to make it.

We have to.

My daughter and I spent all day looking for apartments for her near the university she’ll be attending an hour and a half away . Not too far but my stomachs in knots from looking at tiny hobbit holes that are safe enough for my precious lil hobbit . I keep telling myself I was there once living in a dicey neighborhood trying to grow up and get ahead but I’m still like this 😳😢. I just lost my pupper and now I’m losing my baby girl . I am excited and happy for her to be growing up and starting her own life but still hoping she’ll come home and visit her old mom 😊

if they had an extra hour to get to know each other before gettin to the lions.

I just got back from a BBQ with a lesbian social group and let me just say

never ever think that it’s too late. 17 or 21 or 25 may feel old, but today I met a lady that realized she was a lesbian at 45 – after marrying a man and having three kids. now she has a girlfriend, and she manages a brunch group with other lesbians.

it’s easy to feel like you’ve lost so much time to self doubt or fear, and it’s okay to mourn that lost time. but it’s never too late to find happiness in who you are.

“in the end, i think it’s him who lost,” she sighed after a few minutes of silence had passed.

he turned to look at her, “what do you mean?”

“well… he lost a girl who could’ve given him the whole world and all the stars if he asked. he lost a girl who would’ve known him better than he knew himself. he lost a girl who, i’m pretty damn sure, would’ve loved him in ways he couldn’t even imagine. but he was too blind to see that… so now she’s going to give it to someone who deserves it while he’ll be left wondering why he ever let her go.”

SU WANTED THEORY: The Pink Conspiracy; Homeworld Civil War Imminent!

Holy hell. Thanks to the Wanted special, we have a timeline granted a very rough timeline of the gem war, and now know around when Pink was shattered.

According to Blue Zircon here, Rose Quartz and her terrifying renegade Pearl started the rebellion, then a few hundred years later, Pink is shattered. The way it’s explained, we don’t know if there was any more warring immediately following that, or if that’s what caused the order to evacuate before the Diamonds used the corruption song. For this theory, I’m going with the latter.

Then we’re hit with a bombshell;

Gemkind was lied to. Not just a huge bunch of the population. Gemkind.

The people of Homeworld were told the Earth was destroyed. From what we’ve seen so far, we can safely assume only the Diamonds and a select few elites know of the Earth’s existence. (Peridot, Jasper, the Rubies, etc), and by “the Diamond attack”, of course, they’re probably referencing this;

This changes everything. Why did they lie about the Earth? Besides the obvious; You’d want your people to think you’re all-powerful, what i mean is that’s quite a lie to keep up. Why go through all the trouble?

During The Trial, Blue Diamond makes clear the story everyone knows,

But that’s impossible. Bismuth says in her debut, “It can cut a gem’s physical form in an instant, destroying the body, but never the gem.”.  Our only other eyewitness is Eyeball Ruby, who couldn’t tell Ame-Jasper apart from the real Jasper.

She can’t tell Purple from Orange? Color plays such a huge role in their society, so important the Crystal Gems called themselves that because crystals have no color! It’s a symbol of their independence from the Diamond Authority. You’re telling me a war-hardened Ruby missed such an important detail as Jasper’s color? The others I can forgive, one of them didn’t even know who Pink Diamond was so we don’t know how new they are, but Eyeball? Is she colorblind?? Either way, we don’t know if she mistook whoever shattered Pink Diamond for Rose Quartz, or if Rose just used a different sword. Her testimony is unreliable.

Oh, and by the way?

What

the fuck

Is your problem Yellow D?

Yellow Diamond was clearly obstructing justice, and she lost it when Blue Zircon accused them of Pink’s shattering, almost as if the lawyer got too close. At first with her song “What’s the use of feeling Blue?” , we think Yellow Diamond wants to help Blue move on. But now that title’s double-meaning rings out to me and it scares me. “What’s the use of feeling, Blue?” Blue wants closure, not just the cheap revenge Yellow is offering her. Closure means knowing the truth so you can move on. If Yellow Diamond cares as much for Blue as she shows, why is she in such a rush to get Blue to bury this? You don’t just rush someone’s grieving. It’s clear Yellow doesn’t want her to know about something.

Still not convinced? Look at Yellow Pearl here.

Wtf was that worried glance for? Since when does Yellow Pearl give a damn about anyone but her Diamond? That’s not a “oh shit are you okay Blue?” look, that’s a “Shit, are we screwed?” look.

Now. Personally, I never believed the rebellion was strong enough to fend off all 4 Diamonds and their homeworld forces alone. It never made sense, especially with Rose’s message of peace and Bismuth being bubbled for essentially advocating for murder. (though in these circumstances I really don’t blame her someone un-bubble my bb) Something’s wrong here.

Pink Diamond loved humans remember? Where did that come from? Sure, she plucked them up as trophies, but hold on. They’re not on display here, or in any way a display of her power. They’re kept nice and safe and com fortable, like pets. Rose Quartz didn’t understand the concept of love until Greg and her “fused” in the episode “We Need To Talk”, what if this was all Pink knew how to do? Would she have been fine seeing the Earth destroyed just to kill off Rose’s Rebellion? Blue doesn’t think so. Yellow Diamond does call it a “silly zoo” in her song after all, she doesn’t seem very supportive of Pink or Blue Diamond.

Then there was this little scene.

Idk if anyone else has mentioned this, but I think Blue and Pink were in love. That’s what’s implied here, at least to me. They just paralleled Greg’s grief over Rose to Blue’s over Pink Diamond. That can’t be an accident.

What if Pink started to help Rose Quartz and the rebellion grew into such a threat that White Diamond needed her…removed? Rose did get her Pearl after all.

Listen fam, you can think whatever you want about our Pearl, she’s formerly White Diamond’s. Her gem’s in the right place. Rose would have needed someone on the inside to help her rebellion, and it would be a great show of power to say.. steal the Big Boss’s favorite slave?? The one servant White Diamond would have taken everywhere? Pearl must have known all of White’s secrets, and because of who White Diamond is, all of Homeworld’s secrets. All it would have taken is an offer of freedom.

With Pink Diamond and White Pearl on her side, the Crystal Gems would have been a massive threat to Homeworld.

I think Pink Diamond’s shattering is a conspiracy that White and Yellow are keeping from Blue, because she and Pink were too close. They couldn’t allow Pink’s side to bolster the rebellion and start a gem civil war, so, Yellow and White found a way. Once Pink was shattered, they corrupted the survivors to silence any witnesses from the other side and pinned it on Rose Quartz to unify all of Gemkind against her and her Crystal Gems forever. They could accept the lie that the Earth was destroyed in a great retribution for their fallen Diamond, making her a martyr instead of a traitor and saving the Diamond Authority legacy.

Now, there’s the question of who. Well, White Pearl did betray White Diamond… wouldn’t it just be so poetic, to if not have Pink Pearl kill her master, not warn her about it?

Also, about what Yellow D said last..

Uh are you sure you want that Yellow D?  His mom started a rebellion. He has everything he needs right there now, plus, maybe an unlikely ally?

Movie Date

Request:

Could you please write a Peterxreader where reader is the youngest member of the team. One day they have a movie date in the tower and the team spies on them?Could it be in the point of view of the team?[bonus points if deadpool is in it] thanks <3

Wade has created a chatroom.

Wade has added Natasha, Tony, Thor, Bruce, Steve, Clint, Vision.

Clint: What, Wade?!

Tony: Can we text later? You’re going to distract me!

Bruce: I need to ask, but is it not weird that us, adults, are spying on Y/N and Peter, our youngest and most loved members movie date in a very cramped up spot?

Natasha: If you don’t like it, then you can leave, Banner. It’s not weird. We are just being protective parental units/uncles/adopted android sibling.

Vision: Overprotective*

Steve: Should they be sitting so close? Natasha, should they? Maybe I should go in and sit between them.

Tony: I will kick your ass, Rogers! Don’t you dare ruin their date!

Thor: Grab him, Stark! I shall lay Mjolnir upon him so he may not move.

Steve: Try it and I will run off with Mjolnir!

Thor: You? Worthy? HA! Do not fight us!

Steve: I know you have your doubts. I know deep down you know that I was faking not being able to lift Mjolnir. Would you like to test me?

Thor: Anyone has any rope?

Coran getting seriously hurt in a Galra attack and Lance getting worse everyday. Coran had studied the human concept of psychology and was helping Lance by doing regular space therapy. They were attacked in the middle of one section and Coran used himself as a "shield" because he promised to never let Lance getting hurt again, not when he can do something about it and now Lance can't stop blaming himself

Okay but, imagine Allura, under stress of losing the last person she has left, blames Lance too. She doesn’t outright say it, but everyone can tell. While the rest of the paladins know that this is not Lances fault, they take Allura side- because she’s already lost so much, she can’t lose Coran. And of course almost no one realize how Lance feels- Hunk semi realizes, but he’s been busy making sure Allura actually eats

Of course, when Coran wakes up, and is  healed, everyone crowds around him. They are all exclaiming how relieved they are and, after hugging Allura, he looks at Lance, and completely loses his shit. The boy is absolutely destroyed, he looks like he’s given up on life. He just goes off on the rest of the team, asking why they didn’t take care of Lance while he was out.

Surprisingly Lance answers before any of them can.

“It’s because of me that you were hurt, so why didn’t I deserve to be hurt?”

Sam's face and Dean's heart

Sam is hurting too. He just lost a brother.

But there’s a potentially world-ending, apocalypse-starting antichrist baby in the house who needs to be taken out or taken care of.

He looks at Dean’s face, and knows that Dean won’t follow him inside. That Dean can’t leave Cas now.

He lets Dean have his moment because no matter how much danger they’re in, Dean just lost his love.

Dean told Mary that Azazel killed the girl Sam loved.

Bobby told the boys that Mary tells the story of losing John Winchester, the man she loved.

And Dean Winchester just lost the man he loves.

Dean is going to have to deal with that realization when Cas is resurrected.

I got some thoughts on Little Nightmares. As usual for me, I am more interested in everybody else and not the main character. Typical me.

Anyway as far as the world goes the basics are not hard to grasp. You are a human on a giant’s vessel. Giants were known to be maneaters in many of the different cultures they appear in, so raising and preparing human like domesticated livestock is no big surprise.

What I am interested in is this particular crew. Been looking at things and the websites and I got some info. Like many others, the sight of fat customers coming aboard to eat en masse reminded me of tourism/the food industry-and with The Lady looming over as she does, it’s not hard to deduce she runs this eatery. Now here’s what it says about “The Lady” on the site -

“Admist the chaos of the world outside, The Maw is the only place that makes sense.”

It gives off the impression she might have been drifting before, lost, without a purpose and without a place to belong. Obviously she looks Japanese and aside from the eatery, not a lot of other places in the boat follow that aesthetic. She is far from home. But not just that-I think the others were lost too-if fact I think they were all together before as well. Look at this one-

-”he fled the world and found The Maw.”  People point out the painting of The Lady with other shadowy figures when contemplating the identity of Six, but you’ll notice the other pictures are quite interesting too. I believe our man here is in one of them-the chefs too.

With the chefs, I’m thinking they were probably twins who were born fused together separated a little after birth-more on that theory later though.

.

Mr. Legless sure looks like Mr. Arms tho. That The Lady keeps pictures of them gives me the impression they must have all known each other for a long time-predating The Maw.

Not only that, but they are all wearing masks. The Janitor’s mask seems to be peeling and blocks his view, The chefs can be seen scratching under their mask and The Lady is wearing a much more obvious mask. Perhaps they are all from the same place and are trying to “blend in” with their new found culture/people. -Another interesting possibility-they are outcasts even among giants. The smashed mirrors, the masks and the Janitor - maybe these were originally a band of misfits-rejected at home who drifted aimlessly for a while before finding a place to belong, a place that “makes sense”.

After all, no one cares what you look like if you’re serving up grub.

This game, I hear, was originally called Hunger. Once you play the game yourself, you’ll see how that theme remains. Hunger drives what we assumed to be an innocent little girl to prefer to kill and eat others savagely to survive. Hunger can take you dark places. The Maw itself is a dark place, I’ve heard a youtuber comment after seeing it all that Six became “like them”.

Perhaps hunger was also what drove them to such an extreme. Fattening, slaughtering, serving, in an endless cycle. It’s not pretty but it keeps them alive. It’s a purpose-it’s a living.

Maybe this was something the game was trying to get across. How ruthless the fight for survival can really be and how things like good and evil can sometimes be made to take a backseat when you’re starving to death.

Sana and her two worlds

So for a while I have noticed that this season has included a lot of shots with Sana and doors. She’s been behind them, walking through them, peeking behind everything beyond the door, and even standing in the doorway as she is greeted by others.

I tried to not think too much about it because it’s just showing Sana enter a room right? It doesn’t mean anything.

But then I started to think about what Sana’s theme is this season. She is torn between two worlds. Her faith, religion, family as one world and then her friends, Norwegian culture, and now Yousef, representing another.

She wants both but she is struggling to find the balance between these two worlds.

The door is a symbolic representation of a passageway from one world to another, particularly in regards to religion.

So when it comes to Sana, every time we see her with a door, it is representing Sana transitioning into another world.

When she sees the girls in ep 1, she stands in the door, observing the world they represent before joining them

When we first see her home, we get a shot of Sana actually entering it. Introducing us to her other world. The one we haven’t seen before this season.

We get to see her enter a party, representing her walking into that world again.

And then, we see her enter a room in the party to pray, symbolising her switching into her other world again.

She is literally taking the passageway into each world. Trying to separate them but have them both at the same time.

and you can tell it is going to begin to become exhausting, trying to juggle being a part of both.

Without knowing it at the time, when Sana looks behind the door at Yousef in episode two, this was representing her observing another world she wants to be a part of, but without actually walking through the door and leaving her world behind - which is now the issue she is going to struggle with when it comes to Yousef and her faith.

To be with him, how much of her world does she need to sacrifice?

If she steps through the threshold, how much of her world begins to crumble?

she is truly torn, so she continues to stay in the doorway.

and now in this clip we saw Sana hiding behind the door as she peeks at her mother and her brother arguing, representing Sana feeling lost between her two worlds.

She is watching as this one begins to shake at just the mere droplet of the other world mixing in. And this is when the trouble truly begins.

Soon Sana will have to stop hiding behind her door…and either choose between the two worlds, or find a way to bring them together.

I have Some Thoughts™ about actual Waverly’s behavior (non-Gooverly) from 2x03, so I’mma dump them here, as per usual.

Wynonna’s big theme regarding Waverly this episode is making sure she doesn’t lose herself. They come back to it several times, and even though Wynonna’s oblivious about whatever’s going on with this possession situation, she’s proving that being Waverly’s big sister is super important to her.

And Waverly is pretty much all about Nicole right now, when she’s not picking up shiny objects with her five-finger-discount to add to her kleptomania museum. Don’t get me wrong, it’s refreshing to see non-straight women on my tv who are unapologetic about just how into one another they are, but I think it’s also important to note that she’s lost herself in at least one other person before. This type of behavior is common for people with abandonment issues, and I think they’re doing a wonderful job of bringing it out subtly that perhaps a flaw of Waverly’s is that she latches on too tight in romantic relationships and might lose herself a little bit in that process.

The thing that stands out to me the most about this is the fine line that Wynonna’s trying to walk: being super supportive of her baby sister’s new relationship but also being vocal about Waverly being important without a relationship. (Her whole “you’re the best, remember that” comment reminded me of Cristina Yang telling Meredith Grey, “He’s not the sun, you are.”)

Wynonna doesn’t have any context for what’s happening other than seeing how Waverly is behaving. So, for instance, she’s not aware that when Waverly shows up to the high school while Nicole’s working, Nicole’s response is, “hey babe, I’m working just now, do you think you can self-entertain until I’m done?” It seems like she just assumes that Nicole is Champ 2.0, and she doesn’t want Waverly (who missed her own valedictorian speech to watch Champ play video games - what????) to go down this road again. I bet she’s imagining that Nicole is probably encouraging this kind of clinginess instead of what she’s actually doing - trying to find a good balance for them both while asserting that her job is very important to her and that she has a pretty clear boundary when it comes to her work. This is one of my favorite things about the conflict going on between Wynonna and Nicole right now. They both very clearly care for Waverly, but they’re very much not on the same page. It’s complicated.

And I love that they’re letting Waverly’s flaws and insecurities shine through. She’s clearly struggling with whatever’s inside of her, but when she’s not, she’s struggling with the very non-supernatural, very relatable issue of how to maintain your identity in a brand new relationship. And they’re not afraid to let her fail a little bit, and to use it as an opportunity to strengthen the bond that she and Wynonna share.

It’s good storytelling, is what I’m saying.

Inquisition companions react to Solas taking the unconscious inquisitor with him when he leaves at the end of trespasser. Romances too please! (Solas can be excluded if it's easier.) The companions could arrive just in time to see. ;)

Exclude Solas?? Well, now you’ve just issued a challenge. I accept!

Solas: High Approval: His friend is lying there, hurt because of him. His friend, who has stood by him through it all and wants the best for the world. He can’t just leave it like this. The Inquisitor would be a very valuable ally, after all. He doesn’t want them as his enemy. Low Approval: He sneers at the Inquisitor’s prone form before him, everything he hates about the world he created embodied in this one person. This one incredibly valuable person. True, they don’t get along, not even remotely, yet to have the Inquisitor with him, even as a prisoner, would be invaluable to him. And if the Inquisitor could be turned to his side? Thedas would never see them coming. If Romanced: His vhenan is lying there, vulnerable, hurt, maybe even broken. It was not supposed to happen this way. And he can’t just leave them there, even though he knows he should. In his arms, they feel smaller, more delicate, than they really are, and he can’t help but kiss their face. “Ar lath ma,” he whispers as he steps through the glass. It isn’t over yet.

Cullen: The Inquisitor, unconscious in Solas’s arms, is disappearing through the eluvian. And he isn’t quick enough to stop it! He paces in front of the mirror for hours, calling out to the pair, trying to understand. Why would Solas take them? If Romanced: No! His spouse, married for only days, is disappearing through the eluvian in Solas’s arms. He can’t let it happen! Yet it’s too late. He beats his fists bloody on the glass, careful not to break it, and yells for Solas to come back with the one he loves.

Josephine: She was placating the Exalted Council so she didn’t see, but the reports from the others are disturbing, to say the least. The Inquisitor is gone? What do they do now? She tries to put aside the personal loss and deal with the political nightmare that will result. How can she spin this to the council? They will damn the Inquisition for it! If Romanced: She sobs. Gone? Why would the Inquisitor be gone? She doesn’t understand, it doesn’t make sense! They wouldn’t leave her like this! Would they? Dealing with the political crisis is much harder for her and she can’t just set aside her own feelings this time.

Leliana: Her arrow struck the glass only moments after it closed behind them, her scream of frustration following Solas to wherever he’s disappeared to. Why take the Inquisitor? They’re still needed! There’s so much to do!

Blackwall: He yells, running, and nearly shatters the mirror as he tries to follow. The Inquisitor is still needed! If Romanced: He stands in front of the mirror, his forehead pressed to the glass. He needs to get through, but it’s closed. He knows this, but still he doesn’t move, only presses harder against it. The Inquisitor must come back.

Cassandra: She’s furious. She rages at the empty mirror, and it takes all her strength not to simply shatter it. The Inquisitor is still needed! The Inquisition still needs its leader. The Exalted Council is still unfinished! If Romanced: She’s sobbing as she weakly beats on the glass, begging for her lover back. She only just started to live that dream.

Iron Bull: He doesn’t know what to do. He’s surrounded by statues that used to be his people and the Inquisitor just disappeared through the eluvian. He just stands there, completely uncertain for perhaps the first time. If Romanced: Once the initial shock fades, he starts frantically searching for another way through. There has to be another way! There’s always another way. He won’t let his kadan go that easily!

Dorian: No! His spell slides uselessly off the glass, all the knowledge Tevinter stole from the elves useless as he tries to open the way. The Inquisitor is gone, and he mourns. If Romanced: For hours he stands in front of the eluvian, searching every pieces of knowledge he has to find a way through. Tevinter must have taken something from the elves that can help! “Amatus, don’t go…”

Vivienne: Like Dorian’s, her spells are useless. Her power is useless. The Inquisitor is gone, and Thedas might just fall for it. The Exalted Council will never be appeased now. They are doomed.

Sera: Her arrow shatters against the glass, but another one follows it anyway. She keeps it up until there are no more arrows in her quiver. Then she simply stands there, shaking, bow in hand. What now? If Romanced: The end of her arrows means it’s time to pull out the knives. Her throwing knives are exactly as useless as the arrows, but she has to do something! Inky is gone! Honeytongue got taken through that friggin’ mirror! She can’t let it go!

Varric: “Shit, shit, shit,” he chants to himself, pacing in front of the mirror. He knows which way the wind is blowing now, and they are all completely screwed. Without the Inquisitor, the Inquisition is doomed. And probably Thedas, too. And he’s lost another friend. Are they even okay? Alive? Should he mourn? Or search? He doesn’t know.

Cole: “Haunting, hiding, old magic in a mirror. They won’t be followed. We can’t help.” He knows there’s nothing he can do for the Inquisitor and Solas, so he turns his attention to the others. There’s so little he can do to help, though.

Cait: She snaps. She whirls around, catches the offender by the lapels of their coat, and shoves them up against the nearest wall. “Alright, listen up, you fuckwit son of a bitch.” Her fists grip tighter, and her knuckles turn white. She goes nose to nose with her prey. “Sole is one of the best people you’ll ever have the fuckin’ luxury to know. She wags a scolding finger at them, looking like an indignant schoolteacher. “Sole has been nothing but good and kind to me, and everyone else we’ve met! The only reason any of you have been unkind is because of small-minded fears and prejudices. Well, no more. Sole deserves all the respect and kindness in the world.”

Danse: “I suggest you keep your mouth shut, civilian.” Danse rises to his full height, looking very imposing in his power armor and fierce glare. “Maybe you are incapable of respecting good people when you see them, but this person is better and more capable than you’ll ever be. Perhaps you should learn when to pick your battles, instead of insulting people with more honor in their little finger than you have in your entire body.”

Deacon: “Let he who has committed no sin cast the first stone, am I right?” he snaps back. He glances at Sole. “That’s the line, right?” Without waiting for a reply, he pushes on. “Maybe you should stay out of other people’s business, ‘kay? You don’t want me insulting you just because you haven’t brushed your teeth for three weeks and smell like you hit your kids, or something. Just, like, have a little respect. We don’t all need to be assholes.”

Dogmeat: He growls at them, even snapping his jaws if he finds them particularly repulsive. He won’t do anything unless Sole commands it, but he makes sure to glare at and snarl at the insulting person whenever they’re around.

Hancock: His eyes narrow, black depths glimmering. He steps forward, between the jerk and Sole, somehow looming over them regardless of any difference in height. “I think you were talking to the wrong person,” Hancock says, brandishing a knife, shining in the light. “’Cause I’m a real bastard. I own that. But Sole? Nah. They’ve never done anything to you, and never will.” He points his knife towards the curve of their neck. “Me, though…”

Nick Valentine: “Don’t do this.” Suddenly he’s all sharp and angry, losing his temper in the blink of an eye. “You remember how you treated me, years ago, when I was a newbie to this town and your kind loathed me?” He jerks a thumb to his chest. “How’d that work out for you? Maybe you should think before you speak.” He’s almost like a disappointed father, berating and shaming the jerk into mumbling an apology.

MacCready: “Well, you- you suck!” he shouts, glowering at them over his shoulder. It sounds way lamer than he imagined it in his head, though, and the jerk laughs at him. So he marches forward, all short and thin and furious. “Yeah, laugh, go right ahead. You won’t be laughing when I- when I pop your head from a hundred miles away, asshole.” The use of profanity is lost on the stranger, but Sole gasps, and Mac feels a little proud.

Piper: “How dare you?” she snaps, jabbing a finger into their chest. “After everything Sole’s done for you? What? What are you saying about me, too. Are you saying I’m dumb for traveling with them? ‘Cause, hoo-boy, buddy, believe you me, I’m not as nice as Sole. I’ll- I’ll fight you. I will! Let’s just- let’s go out back. Right now. You and me. Mano-e-mano. Or, uh… Persono… e… woman-o. Yeah. Let’s go. Let’s do this.” Sole has to drag her away, still shouting.

Preston: He turns on the person, looking stern. “Have you ever fought for anything?” he demands. “Sole has given up so much to support the Commonwealth, and never gets a word of thanks for it. Before you judge them, before you blame them, maybe you should think about what we’re trying to accomplish, in the long run.” He gets up on his soapbox and gives a heartfelt speech. People are inspired. Old women cry. He kisses a baby afterwards.

Strong: He twitches. Before anyone can stop him, he’s got one meaty paw around the offender’s neck, giving it a pinch to see how the person squirms. Everyone rushes to stop him, but he looks to Sole, ignoring the other humans. “Strong break?” he asks, waiting for the order.

X6-88: He seems calm at first. “Should I kill them, Mx. Sole?” he asks, almost pleasant. Sole says no, of course, but that doesn’t stop him. He tracks them down, later, and is waiting in their house when they come home that day. He takes off his sunglasses, and somehow, that’s more terrifying than anything else. “You shouldn’t have spoken to Sole like that,” he says, and suddenly there’s a knife in his hand. “I’ll make sure you don’t make that mistake again.”
