MASTERLIST

One call from your best friend and everything around you went dark . Everything at your vicinity seemed to come to a sudden halt . You couldn’t trust your ears . But she was your best friend , why would she lie .

The door bell rang and you opened the door to reveal the face of your boyfriend . You stopped yourself from pouring out your feeling in the form of tears and curses . You couldn’t , you didn’t want to.

“Hey , where have you been?”, you asked with a heavy heart and a heavier tongue , the words barely making it out of your lips .

“Umm , just out . You know….” , he said shrugging , walking past you into your shared house . How you wanted to believe that it was truth . Your mind and heart fighting over the honesty bore in his words , but for the first time your mind was victorious . You couldn’t believe him .

“I missed you.” Your words came out in a whisper , tears glossing your eyes .

He hummed not turning around to look at you . You walked towards him and wrapped your hands around his torso and inhaled his scent . He melt into the soft kisses you placed on his neck and shoulders . He instantly turned around and grabbed you by your waist and kissed you .

Even now his lips just fit perfectly around yours , you couldn’t help but melt into it . Your hands on his shoulders for support because your knees sure as hell gave out when his kisses trailed down your neck . You moaned . You hated it .

“You did miss me huh.” He removed his shirt while you removed yours . Completely bare in front of each other like the many times before, but for the very first time you felt naked . You felt his gaze disgusting . You wanted him not go through this out of guilt . You wanted him to confess his wrong doings , but he didn’t . He lusted over your body .He lifted you by your thighs and took you into the bedroom dropping you at the middle of it.

It wasn’t the first time that you had sex at the middle of the day but it was surely the last time . He pushed into you and you moaned at his length as your walls tightened around him eliciting a moan from him too. He was a man who got pleasure out of others pleasure . Hearing your moans and looking at your blissful face brought him close to his release . But today you turned around on all fours , hiding your face from him . He thrust into you harder and deeper , grazing at your pleasure spot , evoking deep moans from you . You put your hand on his hip and tried to push him harder. He pulled you against his chest and thrust into you wildly. Whispering confessions of love in your ear, which was now deaf to his sweet talk.

Your release soon came which brought about his as he filled you up . You both collapsed on the bed and he soon fell asleep , exhausted . But you couldn’t . You sat there with your knees to your chest ,not a single tear coming out , your eyes dry and your heart cold with no feeling , your mind blank. You wanted to be angry . You wanted to scream, slap him, scream at him, ask him why he did this to you , but you knew the answer would only hurt you more.

You did this because you wanted to feel and touch him one last time . But his kissed sting your skin and his I love you’s sting your heart . You walked over to the bathroom and freshened up , wearing a fresh pair of clothes .  You wanted to get away . You quietly packed your clothes , not wanting to wake him up and create a drama . You picked what you could , and walked out of the door  , but not before leaving a note.

Dear Bucky ,

I should have known that this would never work . But I didn’t want it to end like this . Do not contact me and do not even try to find out where I live.

-          Y/N .

You went to meet up with your best friend in a coffee shop .

“See , I told you this would happen Y/N . I never thought he could stay loyal.”
You just nodded at her remarks , you wanted to forget about and not talk about it but she just couldn’t take a clue.

“But I am glad you broke it off with him . You deserve much more than that cheating asshole.”

At this you got up and said your goodbye to her. You went to your brothers apartment and started living with him .

Bucky did call you . He sent you a million texts before you blocked him . But he didn’t stop there. No. He came banging on your brothers door after a week .

“Please , tell him I am not here .”, your told your brother  .

He said what you told him to tell. But Bucky didn’t believe it but he still went away . It was the same thing the next 3 times . He would come around and your brother would tell that you weren’t home .

You thought about the days you just laid in his embrace, your heart swelling at his warmth and tender touches . You thought about the days his name was the only world that came out of your mouth in bliss. You thought about the days where he held your shaking body and sat through your nightmares calming you . You thought about how you did the same for him . There was so much love between the two of you and not once did you have any doubts. You would be lying if you said  you hadn’t thought about a future with him. But as soon as your friend called you with the news that she saw Bucky kissing another girl , and that she saw him come out of her house, all your fucking dreams about having a future with him was shattered .

You cried for days thinking about where you went wrong , what you did that made him seek pleasure from someone else’s body , seek happiness in someone else. Why weren’t you enough?

But in 2 months ,you came to understand that this wasn’t your fault . Bucky cheating doesn’t have anything to do with you but everything to do with him  . You couldn’t blame yourself . You found a job far away from the first one where you were sure to run into Bucky .

But as Bucky’s visits decreased and messages he sent though his friends phone decreased so did your best friends’s. But you didn’t give it much thought . Maybe she too moved on and got busy with life .6 months and you were honestly happy . Not the happiest you have ever been but still happy  . Colours seeped back into your life, you felt alive, not pulled down by the weight of betrayal .

Your new job was everything you had ever wanted . But you were being transferred to the branch where your old job  was at . If you had gotten it 6 months ago you would have declined it in fear of running into Bucky but right now you were more  than okay . You have gotten over him and nothing about the aspect of his existence hurts you anymore.

You got into an apartment nearby and settled in. It was your first day there and you decided you needed coffee to get through the hectic first day  .

As soon as you entered the cafe you were met with a familiar face , your best friend(maybe former) Sabrina .

“Hey , Om my god . Long time no see.” You say as she turned around holding two coffees .

“Y/N? Hi…I..What are you doing here?” She said looking a little worried. She didn’t really seem happy at meeting you .

“Oh , I got a job here . So..And you?” You asked but before she could answer you heard another familiar voice .

“Hey babe. Sorry , I slept in.” He walked from behind you and kissed Sabrina’s forehead taking a coffee from her hand .

When he turned around you were met with the blue orbs that you once called home . The blue eyes that once gave you comfort, the blue eyes that you fell in love with the first day you met him .

And the very blue eyes had love for someone else now. And not just anyone , but your best fr..sorry , your ex-best friend Sabrina .

His face too seemed to dull down as his eyes met yours .  You couldn’t believe what was going on .  You couldn’t understand what was going on .

“Are you two…?” the words came out with you even realising .

“Yeah , ummmm after you broke up with me ,3 months later . She was there for me . She cared for me .” Bucky answered with his head low.

“What???” , you asked in disbelief . She was with him?? Your best friend consoled your cheating boy friend .

Before you could ask Bucky about it , Sabrina was pulling you along with her out of the cafe .

“What the fuck!!!????” , you screamed pulling your hand harshly from yours .

“Y/N. Calm down.”, she said in a low tone . “People are watching , don’t make a scene.”

“I don’t care . You knew he cheated on me and still you went out with him? I thought you were my best friend . He could do this to you too.”  You were furious that she would make such an idiotic decision . But she still chose him over you . She chose a 6 month acquaintance over a 4 year friendship .

“He didn’t cheat on you .” , her voice came out in a mere whisper.

“What?”, you couldn’t digest what she was telling you .”But you were the one that called me and told me that he did.” You said in a high voice . A few people turned their heads but you couldn’t care less.

“Yeah , I lied. I liked him , I loved him .I loved him more than you ever could.  But you were with him . So…” before she could finish the sentence you slapped her right across the cheek , tears rolling down your face .

“How could you….” Bucky pushed you by your shoulder even before you could finish your sentence . He bent down to assess the slap mark on Sabrina’s face .  The girl who lied about him cheating so that she could have him for herself .

Bucky looked up at you , anger etched in his face .

“Go away . You have no right to hurt her.” You shrank at the disgust in his voice . He detested you and it made you even sadder . It wasn’t  your mistake , so you stood there , glued to the ground .

“Go away!!!” Bucky screamed at you and your body involuntarily jerked backward at the harshness of his words. He wrapped his hands around her shoulder .

“I hope you are happy with what you have done. ” You say to Sabrina turning around to your office .

All day you could only think about the betrayal .  What hurt the most was not thinking that Bucky cheated on you but the fact that your own best friend betrayed you . It stung like hell.

But then again you weren’t a heartless bitch like her , and you still wanted her to be happy after everything she has done to you.

Your name: submit What is this?

His eyes snapped open at the monotonous sound of their alarm; he winced, his brows furrowing and nose crinkling. He whimpered tiredly and tossed himself over onto his stomach, sighing contently as his body sunk into the mass of cushions and quilts. The incessant siren ceased after a moment, and he felt Y/N shift beside him and pull herself up before leaving their bed entirely. She stumbled over the hardwood, cursing when she tripped over a lone article of clothing. Moments after she made it to the washroom, he heard the shower start. His eyes fluttered close habitually, finding comfort in the running water and her soothing hymns, even they were muddled by the wall.

A one-shot of the scene (and conversation) that must have occurred between the kiss and the reunion with the servants. Set after the 2017 film, but it really applies to the original also.

Bruce stood at the top of an old, abandoned building, his eyes scanning the streets of Gotham City. He thought it was just going to be another normal night of patrolling. Maybe he’d run across a dirty criminal, but he certainly didn’t expect to see you - his daughter.

And he especially didn’t expect to see you kissing the infamous Harley Quinn.

Harley’s arm was thrown around your shoulder, and she had planted a kiss on your cheek, leaving a smear of red lipstick. You were laughing and stumbling together, clearly drunk. Your arm had your arm slid around her waist, and your hand found it’s way to her back pocket.

Bruce’s eyes were practically popping out of his head by the time Harley placed a sloppy kiss on your lips. His hands balled into fists. What the hell?! He knew you were dating a Harley, but he never expected it to be the Harley Quinn.

He continued to stare down at you and your girlfriend, until Harley’s eyes travelled up to the roof of the building Bruce was standing on. Suddenly, a large smile broke out across her face, and she nudged you in the shoulder.

“Y/N, look!” She pointed up at the roof. “It’s Batsy!” She waved, laughter bubbling out of her throat. “Hi, Batsy! How you doing up there? Catching criminals?”

Your eyes widened as you made awkward eye contact with your father. His eyes were filled with anger, and you knew that you were going to get an angry talking to from your father later on. And Bruce knew that, too.

Your POV

“Well I am, so please move…I’m sorry”

“Y/N, wait-”

This was the tenth time I replayed the past events in my head. I feel like I didn’t even take time to think about how Dan felt with all of this? Overwhelmed? Guilty? All I remember was leaving our home, my already red, puffy eyes flickering up to his glossy ones. I didn’t know where to go. I was too impulsive…maybe I should have just lied about what was wrong with me? No. Phil was right the best thing to do is get it off my shoulders. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, I let out a big sigh and checked what it was.

Dan: Y/N where are you?

Dan: Y/N I’m sorry. Are you okay?

Y/N: I’m fine Dan. Pls don’t tell me you’re out looking for me.

Dan:…

Y/N: Daniel

Dan: look you left, and we need to talk about this.

Y/N: Hard pass

Dan: you can’t just “hard pass” your way out of this.

Y/N: Just did.

I closed my eyes, looking up at the beautiful London night sky. It was mostly just black, but with some stars scattered in different places lighting up the sky. I guess there’s something to calm me down. That thought quickly escaped my mind when I felt my phone vibrate again.

Phil: Found you

Y/N: sounds like ur bout to murder me m8

Phil: Shut up, turn around.

I sat up on the bench, and twisted around in my seat to see Phil standing a few feet away. The moment I made eye contact with him all I could see was sympathy in his eyes. I almost broke down crying again but I was already drained from the previous crying. I got up from the bench and ran towards Phil, he caught me in a warm embrace. After a few moments, we pulled away and I tried my best to give him a small smile.

“You need to talk to Dan.” Phil said in a very stern voice.

“Not you too.” I groaned, rolling my eyes.

“Avoiding your problems isn’t going to do anything to help."

"Please don’t tell me you told Dan where I was.” The second after I said that, I heard a relieved gasp from behind me. I turned around, but I was greeted with someone throwing their arms around my waist. I almost instantly knew who it was. Black coat, scruffy brown hair, and that distinct scent that emitted off of his body. Dan. I felt my throat go dry, and my heart rate increased. I started shaking my head, and pushed Dan off of me.

“My job is done. See you guys back home.” Phil laughed. I stared at him with a questioning look. Why was he LAUGHING at this?

“Dan I told you not to-” I turned my attention back to Dan, but I was still avoiding eye contact.

“My turn to interrupt you. Let me talk.” Dan put his finger up so I would stay silent.

“Dan please. I know what you’re going to say and-” Before I could even say the rest of my sentence, Dan grabbed my cheeks and pulled me in for a warm, soft kiss. I wanted to reject it, because I knew he was taken. He was dating a beautiful, adventurous girl that I could never be compared to. But I couldn’t help myself. I melted under his touch and as cheesy, and cliché as it sounds, the kiss felt magical. He pulled away and smiled at me.

“Can I talk now?” He smirked, still holding my cheeks. I felt my face heat up, and I knew that my face was super red. I was still caught up in his kiss. I still felt his lips lingering on mine even though they weren’t even there.

“Why did you do that, Dan? You’re dating Allison.” Reality hit me, and I took his hands off my face. I stared at the ground after a realization that I’ll never be able to kiss him again.

“But I’m not.” Dan’s voice got softer, and my eyes flickered up to his. His eyes looked at me with care, and love. I felt a spark go off in my stomach, has he always looked at me like that?

“W-What do you mean?”

“I was lying when I said we got in a fight. She actually broke up with me because she knew I still loved you.”

“Wait you…what? Still?” My eyes lit up and I was staring into his wonderful eyes.

“I don’t know where to start really. The moment we met I knew you were going to be this amazing person, and I adored you almost instantly. I spent my time convincing myself I wasn’t good enough for you and that you would never have feelings for me back. So I moved on.” He shrugged his shoulders and now he was the one avoiding eye contact.

I felt my heart sink, and I tried searching in his eyes to see if I was able to tell if he was lying or not.

“Then I met Allison. She’s an amazing girl don’t get me wrong; I wasn’t lying when I said I thought I felt something strong with her. That’s only because I was still in denial that I still had feelings for you. Then earlier today when she broke up with me, it did hurt. I thought she was my only chance at having a long lasting relationship because I thought there were unrequited feelings between me and the person I really loved.” He grabbed my hand and stared at it for a while. He started stroking the back of my hand with his thumb and continued talking. “But I lied to you because…I don’t know actually. I felt vulnerable and pathetic."

"Dan…” I lifted my free hand to his cheek. He leaned into my touch instantly, closing his eyes. I dropped my hand from his cheek and he looked into my eyes again. Looking…guilty?

“But then you told me you loved me, and that me dating Allison hurt you a lot. I thought ‘damn, only I can fuck up this much.” He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. “I saw how hurt you were and I felt…well saying guilty is an understatement. So I tried to explain myself, like I’m doing right now. But you being the stubborn bugger you are, you didn’t give me a chance to speak.”

I didn’t know what to say. I got lost in his eyes for a while. Trying to process everything he said. He loved me? Wait not loved, he LOVES me. I felt so relieved and happy, I burst into happy tears. A change from all the sad tears I spilt that night.

“Oh my god did I fuck up again? What did I say? Y/N are you okay?” Dan let go of my hand and backed away from me, scared that he hurt me again. I shook my head, laughing at his reaction.

“Yes, I’m okay Dan. I’m beyond okay.” I opened my arms, and wrapped them around his neck. I held onto him tightly, scared that I would choke him, I loosened my grip around his neck. I felt him wrap his arms around my waist, holding me close.

“I’m sorry for everything I put you through, Y/N. I never intended to hurt you.” He nuzzled his face into my neck. The feeling of his hot breath caused shivers to go down my spine.

“I know you didn’t Dan. I love you.” I pulled away from him, though I left my arms still wrapped around his neck.

“I love you too, Y/N.” Dan smiled at me, his eyes flicking down to my lips then back to my eyes.

“Are you thinking of that kiss from earlier too?” I chuckled, leaning my forehead against his.

“Maybe.” He looked into my eyes one more time before pulling me into another kiss. My hands went up to his hair, and I felt his grip tighten on my waist.

“Maybe we should get out of the cold.” I pulled away to catch my breath.

“That might be a good idea.” He laughed, pulling away from me.

On the walk back to our flat, we laughed, telling stories of random things that happened to us over the past week. Our hands were intertwined the whole way. I knew this is where I wanted to be, I didn’t have to decide where to go because I already knew. With Dan, I was already home. I finally knew how it felt to be adored by him, and I was never going to let what we have go.

“Ryan, run!” Y/N grabbed her little brother’s wrist and pulled him deeper into the woods. Struggling to keep up with his older sister, the toddler tripped over his own two feet causing her to lift him up and run as fast as she could.

She had seen them. The wind had picked up and a trail of leaves had started to dance around behind them. She knew they were coming for her. Ryan wrapped his arms around his sister’s neck as he let out muffled sobs. He was scared and so was Y/N.

Jumping over a log that was in her way, she glanced over her shoulder to see if they were still being chased. Adrenaline coursed through her veins as she saw the black horse approaching them at a rapid pace. Sprinting as fast as she could, she made her way down to the creek.

“Ryan, you have to listen to me.” She set him down.

“I’m scared Y/N.” He cried, covering his eyes.

For @anhartcuteneon…enjoy! (I added a little bit, hope that’s okay)

Y/N bounced down the corridor of the Asgardian palace. Her father had come to speak to the Allfather about some issues his people were dealing with. Having been familiar with the area already, her father allowed her to do as she pleased while visiting. Though she was young, she knew that really didn’t mean everything. Just enough room to explore the castle.

She was humming to herself and counting her steps when she heard someone heading her way. Curious, she cocked her head to the side. She knit her brows when she saw one of the princes heading toward her. His young face seemed to light up when he saw her.

“Y/N,” the young boy called, making his way closer.
“Hello Loki,” she replied.
“Have you been here all this time?” he asked.
She nodded. “Father’s come to speak to your father. I don’t know why he brought me. I’m bored.”
There was a twinkle in Loki’s eye. “Good thing I had a surprise ready for you.”
Her eyes lit up. “Really? Where?”

Loki held out his hand. She grabbed it, excitement brimming.

“Near the garden. Come on.”

The young boy pulled the girl along with him as he ran. Y/N began to giggle as they grew closer to the garden that held a lake. The pair stopped just outside. Loki pointed across the lake.

“There,” he stated.

Y/N followed his direction to see a mother goose and her goslings. Being the animal lover she was, she didn’t hesitate to hurry closer. However, she slowed down as though not to scare the animals. She smiled at the birds who had yet to notice her.

But a moment later, the mother goose snapped its beak toward her. Instead of ignoring her, as most birds did, the animal became defensive. It started to flap its wings, startling Y/N slightly. The protective goose continued to advance on her. Frightened, Y/N got up and started running back toward from where she came. A loud laugh, belonging to Loki, reached her ears.

The momentary glance caused her to fall onto the ground. She covered her head, waiting for the goose to continue its rampage. What she didn’t see was the bird disintegrate along with the goslings.

With small tears, Y/N glanced up. Loki was still laughing at her expense. Realizing that he had tricked her, more tears prickled at the edge of her eyes. With a quiet wailing, she stood and started running inside.

“I’m telling,” she cried just as she passed Loki.

The young boy didn’t respond. Y/N ran back through the palace until she found a quiet corner. She sat on the ground, tears coming at full speed. Not too long after, Frigga rounded the corner. Seeing the young girl crying, she crouched low.

“What’s wrong child?” she cooed.
Y/N glanced up. “L-Loki tricked m-m-me.”
“How’s that darling?”
“H-H-He had a goose chase me,” she cried, “He said it was a surprise. Wh-Why does he hate me?”

Frigga offered a gentle smile. She sat next to the young girl and wrapped an arm around her. She placed a gentle kiss on her head. What neither knew was that the young Loki was nearby.

“Oh, sweetheart,” she cooed, “I think that’s just his way of letting you know he likes you.”
“What?”
“My son hasn’t always been the best at showing affection,” she told her, “The Allfather knows he needs to work on that. I think he was trying to share what he thought was amusing with you.”
“B-But it wasn’t.”
Frigga smirked. “I know. Just give him a chance, darling. He may just get better at showing you his feelings.”
“Only if he never makes another goose again!”

The queen smiled before continuing to stroke the girl’s hair. Loki lowered his eyes as he thought about what he had heard.

Six Times Voltage Inc Tugged at my Heartstrings

I’ve been playing Voltage games for about four years now, and I have to say, there were moments in certain routes that made me Feel Things™. Generally, Voltage games aren’t really known for being cynical or overly emotional. Heck, their games, while having some mature content, mostly have an optimistic feel to them. However, there were some moments in particular that stood out to me—those scenes were written powerfully enough to shake me to the core.

I have to admit, it was difficult for me to select a few moments from hundreds of routes, but I tried my best to narrow it down as much as I could.

Disclaimer:

  • I limited it to one character per game to avoid repetition.
  • I haven’t played every Voltage game (or route for that matter). The moments I’ve chosen only come from the games I’ve played.
  • I didn’t include SLBP because I only started getting into it recently (plus I don’t know too much about the other lords to make solid conclusions about them lmao).
  • This is all my personal opinion, so that means you probably won’t share the same views as I do, which is cool (I’d actually appreciate it if you told me what your favorite moments were :D).

Anyhow, let’s begin! (long post below):

Hwarang :: Sam Maek Jong x Reader :: Part II

Thanks to everyone who waited and sent me nice encouraging messages! :) I felt bad for making you all wait so I made sure this chapter was extra long! 6505 words for you! I hope you enjoy :)

Read Part 1 here!

The sun seeps through the translucent film of the screen walls, it was warm. Really, really warm. I opened my eyes and I realized that the heat was not only radiating off the rising sun but also from Ji Dwi who was cuddled at my side. His arm was folded under my head, serving as a pillow while his other arm was wrapped around my waist holding me close to his body. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks at his close proximity, his chin rested on top of my head while mine was nestled into his neck. He was so warm and cuddly…if only I could see his cute sleeping face. Carefully and very slowly I peel myself away to get a peep but instead I received a surprise when his grip tightened and pulled me closer into his chest. “Just stay for a moment longer,” he mumbles into my hair. I smile into the collar of his hanbok, “I wasn’t leaving. I just wanted to see your face.” At that he shifts lower so that we were face to face. Being so close I could admire how perfect his face really was. From his long lashes, perfectly round almond eyes, sharp sculpted jaw and shaped eyebrows. “Wow,” I breathed out loud which he smirks at, “What’s wrong? First time seeing a handsome man?” I roll my eyes, quickly turning over so that he faced my back. His breath fans across my neck as he chuckled, “I’m just teasing.” “No, you’re just annoying,” I correct as his arms found their way around my form again, pulling me back towards him, “And really cuddly” I muse allowing him to nuzzle his nose against my ear. “We should get up. It won’t be long before the intensive training starts to prepare you for that stupid…really stupid unnecessary spar in a weeks time,” I explain but it falls on deaf ears since he made no effort to pull away. “Ji Dwi!” I whine with a laugh trying to sit up but the man-child was not having it as he playfully flops on top of me. “G-Get off! Stop!” I scream with giggles in between the kisses he placed on my face and along my neck. Let’s just say it was a very compromising position to get caught in when the wooden door flew open to reveal a very alarmed and ‘ready to kill a man’ aura radiating off of Seyeo. Besides the embarrassing situation it was funny to see his shocked face with his sword ready in his hand when he realized what he interrupted. “I told you it was time to get up,” I teasingly scold Ji Dwi which he replies with a small smile. He rolls off of me and into a seated position then he proceeded to stare intensively at Seyeo, almost impatiently waiting for him to leave. “Seyeo, you are going to catch flies if you don’t close your mouth,” I casually say with a stretch. To my surprise, he doesn’t even reply or say a sarcastic remark before turning on his heel and hastily running off to god knows where. “Now where were we…” Ji Dwi hums, gently pushing me back onto the floor. “Hmmm…waking up to go to practice?” I suggest which he immediately tuts at, “Then what?” I smile knowingly as he lowers his face towards mine, planting a firm and sweet kiss onto my forehead. He pulls back slightly and looks up with knotted brows as if in deep thought, “I can’t seem to remember.” “Wow…such a dork. Just kiss me properly,” impatiently I cup his cheeks to pull him forwards. “Okay,” he agrees planting a kiss onto my nose. “Not there.” “Over here?” he inquires placing one onto my cheek. “No!” I laugh squishing his cheeks. “How about here?” he tries again with my other cheek. “Ji Dwi!” “One more try?” he chuckles, finally placing a firm one onto my lips. I laugh hugging his neck tightly, “I wish we could wake up every morning like this.” He nods in agreement, “I’m sure I can do something to make that happen.” “Then I’ll look forward to it! But let’s get you to practice now, okay?”

-

I join beside Seyeo who was watching the Hwarang set up for their sword practice. “So this is where you ran off to,” I tease taking a seat closely beside him. The male rolls his eyes and pulls out a parchment of crispy rice from his hanbok. “I wanted to surprise you with your favourite but I guess you surprised me instead. You know you could’ve told me so I wouldn’t have barged in like that!” I burst out laughing, realizing how embarrassed he was about the whole over deal, “You know we didn’t do anything right?” He breathes out almost in relief, not before quickly snapping a, “Yeah you better haven’t done anything!” I groan at his brotherly protectiveness, but all was forgotten when I remembered the crispy rice in my lap. Which I happily and quickly ate. Taking my last bite the Hwarang finally started their more intensiveness training in preparation to the fight taking place next week. Seyeo whistled beside me, “Wew, look at your man go!” I look up to find Ji Dwi showing off some really impressive moves, “Oh shut up you!” “Oh, he’s looking his way!” Seyeo exclaims excitedly and with no shame started waving at Ji Dwi which caused the corner of his lips to pull up. Not missing a beat Ji Dwi flashes me a wink before focusing on his sparring partner. “Oh what a cutie,” Seyeo sighs mockingly which I easily ignored since growing up with this annoying child that seemed to be the best option to shut him up. Observing the Hwarang carefully it was obvious as to who were the most skilled of the group, and much to my dismay I could easily tell that the sweet younger member, Han Sung, struggled to keep up. He wasn’t particularly horrible, he just needed a bit more practice. It was difficult to watch his sword constantly fly out of his grip since in a real situation that would’ve meant that he died…at least seven times in the last fifteen minutes. I couldn’t possibly watch him get killed at the sparring event, sending him with his current skills would just be suicide. So by the end of practice I thought of a solution to help Han Sung out, and importantly not to accidently hurt his feelings.

As the males started to put away their swords on their respective racks I walk towards Han Sung who sat defeated on the dirt ground. He was panting and out of breath but what took me back were the tears that started to well in his eyes. “Han Sung, you did great today!” I smile patting his head gently. He looks up with a pout, “Really?” I hum in agreement, “Of course! I was actually wondering if you could show me a few moves.” He blinks in confusion, “But you are already so good. I saw you the other day beating the other Princess and Ji Dwi.” He had me there, I guess I should give him a little more credit for being sharp when he wanted to. After a short moment of silence I nervously scratch at my temple, “But there’s always room for improvement right Han Sung?” Which to that he nods with his usual bright large smile. I nod contently, “Now that’s the spirit! Come on teach me something!”

Sam Maek POV

After practice I was looking forward to spend some time with (Y/n) seeing that we had the day off to relax. Apparently, it was part of the new practice regimen, practice intensively for three hours straight and rest for the remainder of the day. However, she seemed to be occupied. After putting away my practice sword I walked towards her usual observing spot but only her personal care taker was there. I follow Seok Hyeon’s line of vision to see (Y/n) gently patting Han Sung’s head. “What’s she doing?” I ask curiously plopping down beside Seok Hyeon. He cocks his head a bit in acknowledgement of my presence and explained, “(Y/n) couldn’t stand watching Han Sung fight like that. She knows he’s going to get hurt or worse, killed, at the spar so she’s trying to help him practice. Obviously without being obvious that he sucks.” I chuckle at the situation, that was something she would do, “So even when the situation is so dire she’s scared to hurt his feelings?” Seok Hyeon laughed with a scoff, “Yeah, so she’s using the excuse of asking him if he could show her some of his awesome moves.” I watch her and I found myself smiling like usual. From the way she watches Han Sung lovingly, the elegant sword movements, how she tenderly held Han Sung’s arms to help him get in proper position…it was all so perfect. She is definitely the Queen every Kingdom was waiting for. “Hmm…you are staring intensively are you jealous of the boy?” Seok Hyeon mused and I chuckle at that, “What? No of course not.” “That’s good. She already made up her mind that she wont be marrying the King so if that doesn’t prove her loyalty to you then I don’t know what will.” For once I broke my gaze from (Y/n) to look at Seok Hyeon with evident shock, “She said that?” To which he nodded at, staring intensively into my own eyes, “She told me that after her fourth encounter with you. She is extremely fond of you. You know if you end up hurting her I will kill you.” I chuckle at his threat, “I wouldn’t dream of hurting her, ever.” “I’m serious. I will kill you…excruciatingly slowly and painfully. Like I will skin you piece by piece,” Seok Hyeon explains never breaking eye contact. I was glad that (Y/n) has someone like him to watch over her, she was strong and smart but it put me at ease knowing that there will always be Seok Hyeon closely beside her to protect her if I wasn’t there. If she ever needed protecting that is, everyone here knows she’s deadly with her bare hands, let alone with a blade. Well maybe everyone but Han Sung as I could see how excited he was on the field to show (Y/n) some of his moves. “Look (Y/n)! I will teach you this move next!” The young Hwarang will exclaim before presenting some very off technique slash, which would then follow a, “Oh what if we did this instead? I think it would be much cooler!” (Y/n) would add just as excitedly. Call me blinded by love but she was absolutely perfect no matter what light you shine on her there was no imperfection to be seen. I didn’t even realize that they stopped sparring until the Princess started walking towards me. No wait towards Seok Hyeon. I wasn’t upset or anything. “Seyeo! Do you mind if you could go get Han Sung some jerky from town for doing so great?” She asks with a hand on Seok Hyeon’s shoulder, which he immediately accepts and gets up. Now that he was gone I look up from my seated position to see her smiling at me, “What’s up with your face?” “W-What’s wrong with my face?” I nervously ask attempting to cover it with my long sleeves which caused her to giggle and pull my hand away. “You look bothered, Ji Dwi.” Which I immediately reply with, “Why does he have a cute nickname?” (Y/n) snorts and slaps me upside the head, “Don’t be like that…my King~” she sings planting a soft kiss onto my cheek. I could hear my blood pumping in my ears and my heart skipping a beat at what she just called me. I couldn’t even reply as she quickly gets up and returns to help with Han Sung’s training. If only she knew the weight of her words.

Normal POV

Now knowing Han Sung’s strengths it was easy to help him hone into techniques that he could naturally execute. To be very honest I was just as out of breath as he was, “Do you want to take a break Han Sung?” He excitedly shakes his head with a gigantic grin plastered on his face, “No I’m having so much fun! We can take a break once Seok Hyeon is back with the jerky!” I return his smile genuinely happy that he was finally getting into the spirit of sword fighting and finding his confidence, “Okay, that sounds like a plan!”

Practice ensued for probably half an hour more before Seyeo returned with a large parchment of jerky, probably enough to fill up the entire Hwarang. Sitting under the shade of a tree I asked Han Sung to start unpacking the food while I went to invite Ji Dwi over to join us. To my surprise he had plans, “Sorry, I have to go see someone. But I will see you in the evening okay?” I frown but nodded nonetheless, “Okay…sorry that I didn’t get to spend more time with you on your day off.” He chuckles at that and combs my hair back with his long slender fingers, “Don’t be sorry. You were working hard with Han Sung. Enjoy the rest of your day, I’ll see you tonight.” Reluctantly I pull away from his embrace to allow him to go on about his day, “Bye be safe, okay?” To which he nodded with that charming smile. By the time I made it back to Han Sung he was already happily enjoying his share of jerky. I plop down beside him in the shade, safe away from the blazing afternoon sun. It was a nice comfortable silence that enveloped us, so I was quite taken aback when Han Sung spoke up suddenly. “Thank you for helping me,” he shyly smiles scratching his cheek, “I know you were just trying to help me and it makes me really happy.” It’s not even an understatement if I said that my heart just about exploded. “Han Sung…it’s no problem at all. I wanted to help you. I don’t like seeing you upset over something so trivial like sword fighting.” He pulls a funny face, something between a pout and a smile, “Can I tell you a secret?” I quietly nod and he sighs, nibbling on his jerky. “I wished I was born a half blood instead of my brother.” My heart swells up at his confession, “May you tell me the reason why?” “He’s great at everything unlike me…but he isn’t allowed to do anything because of his blood. While I have the blood but I’m useless I can’t do anything right. Maybe if he was the true blood our family’s lineage wouldn’t disappear. God knows it’s going to end with me.” “Oi! You aren’t allowed to speak of yourself like that!” I scolded with a frown, “You will succeed if you keep trying hard and so will your brother! I promise, once I take my throne I will remove all hierarchy and allow anyone to work at the palace as long as they are passionate and hard working. Please continue to try your hardest with your brother, the time will come very soon.” Han Sung’s face lights up, “Wow so cool!” I laugh and pat his head gently, “No…it’s the right thing to do and about time. Blood shouldn’t decipher what an individual can or cannot do. Their actions should be accounted not something that no one has control over, like blood lineage.” He male hums with a closed eye smile, “I can’t wait for you to rule then. Serving you would be really fun with my brother, (Y/n).” I tut at that, “Silly, you won’t be serving me. We are equals, friends even. I just wish for everyone to work along side one another…no serving of any sorts.” “Ji Dwi is very lucky to have you love him (Y/n),” Han Sung suddenly states changing the topic. “J-Ji Dwi?” He hums with a nod in approval, “Although the King would miss out on someone like you, you make Ji Dwi very happy and he’s usually like a rock.” I laugh at that, “Like a rock?” Han Sung nods and joins in with the laughter. “I’m glad you are feeling better, Han Sung. Shall we continue to train for the days coming?” The male nods happily, “I would love that!” “Alright then. Just on one condition, always try your best.” With that we sealed our deal with our pinkies.

Sam Maek POV

Even though it was tempting to stay with (Y/n) and Han Sung I couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling I had that I needed to talk to my mother. Although our talks usually end up fruitless I still found myself trying to reason with her anyways. I walk into the empty throne room to see her perched on her throne…my throne. “Sam Maek, what are you doing here?” she asks surprised at my random visit, “It’s still light outside someone can see you.” “Mother, I wasn’t happy with you trying to marry me off to one of the Princesses, but I made my decision,” I say ignoring her previous inquiries. Mother chuckles softly covering her mouth, “Oh Sam Maek…” she coos getting up from her seat. She started talking again once she walked up to me, “You never had a choice as to whom you were going to marry.” She says with knotted eyebrows but I knew her enough to know that there was no concern behind her actions. “Then why did you bring Princess (Y/n) here if you wanted me to marry my sister.” She smiles shaking her head, “I honestly thought she would just make Princess Sook Myung look even better, besides a friendship to guarantee an alliance with Goguryeo is intelligent. I’m surprised that you could take a liking to someone like Princess (Y/n).” My blood started to boil but I knew I had to keep my anger at bay, “Emotions aside, marrying Princess (Y/n) makes perfect sense. It creates a stronger alliance with the Kingdom of Goguryeo. Your narrow minded decisions has lead Silla to being the smallest of the three Kingdoms.” Mother furrows her eyebrows and reaches out a hand to cup my cheek, “Get rid of such silly thoughts regarding Princess (Y/n). It’s not going to happen. You are to marry Princess Sook Myung and it’s not up for discussion.” I turn my head away from her touch, it felt toxic, “For my entire life I obeyed your every order, however this time I cannot follow through of what you ask of me. You can send me away again, isolate me, deprive me of my throne, but you will not take her away from me.”

The walk back to the Hwarang house took longer than it should have, maybe because I took my time thinking about the event that just unfolded. The talks with Mother were usually like this but I felt uneasy that I told her so much about my feelings. She was controlling and consumed by fear which makes the most dangerous of people. “I missed you!” The sweet voice I learned to love called out. I look up from the ground to see a small blur running towards me, instantaneously engulfing me into a bone crushing hug. “I know you were only gone for only a few hours but I missed you already…can we go to Okta together? A bunch of the Hwarang are going!” she grins up at me excitedly. I gaze into her large round eyes and I found myself smiling as well, “I will accompany you anywhere, but I think it’s better if we stay inside tonight if that’s alright with you.” Without further questioning she nods contently and pulls me along to the small pond located at the back of the Hwarang house. I lower myself and sat down on the rocky surface beside the water, “Come here,” I softly coo pulling her into my lap. She quietly snuggles herself into my hanbok and rests her cheek against my shoulder.

Normal POV

Being so cozy and warm I started to drift off, but the nagging feeling regarding how strangely Ji Dwi was acting tugged at the back of my mind. “You know if something is bothering you Ji Dwi, you can tell me. I’m here to listen.” He momentarily remains silent threading his slender fingers through my locks, it took a few seconds of silence before he collected his thoughts and found his words, “I’m alright…just promise me one thing, okay?” I lift my face away from his neck to clearly into his face, it was obvious that something was tugging at the back of his head as well, “That really depends on the promise. If I can’t keep it I won’t lie to you.” He chuckles at that, “What I ask of you is quite simple, I wish for you to stay on Hwarang property. If you leave I will personally accompany you. That’s all I ask.” His proposal was strange indeed. It wasn’t something he would usually say, especially since he clearly knows how capable I am of protecting myself. “I have to be accompanied by you? Not even Seok Hyeon?” I inquire causing Ji Dwi to immediately nod his head, “I know you are capable of protecting yourself but I need you to do this for me. Please.” I silently nod, wrapping my arms around his now relaxed form, “Thank you (Y/n).” He strokes my back in slow circles, relaxing me enough to doze off.

I lost count of time, only realizing that it’s evening when the sun started to set into the horizon. Pulling back from Ji Dwi I stretch popping multiple joints, and I groan contently at the shift of tight muscles in my back. “Sorry I fell asleep,” I groggily chuckle getting off his probably now numb lap. Ji Dwi softly smiles, “That’s alright. I don’t mind being your pillow if that means that you are well rested.” I scoff with a shy smile in response, “No matter how sweet that was it was also excruciatingly cheesy.” Holding out my hand Ji Dwi takes it and pulls himself up and I was definitely correct about his legs being numb. The next second I knew we were both tumbling into the pond screaming, although the screaming didn’t last long as loud hearty laughter took over almost instantly. “You should’ve seen your face!” I exclaim pinching his cheek between by thumb and index. A mischievous glint sparkled in his chocolate brown eyes, before I could warn him not to he scooped water into his hands and splashed my face with it. “Bleh! Don’t you guys clean your bloody laundry with this water?” I spat but it was fruitless as he ignored my complaint and legitimately showered me. “Oh you’re on!” I growl tackling him into the pond where he slips and ended up pulling me along with him. “I’m soaking wet thanks to you!” I frown, “I just took a shower a few hours ago too…” “Come then let’s go take one together,” he winks cheekily causing a loud gasp to leave my wide hanging jaw, “Aish! Ji Dwi ah you can’t just say those things!” I stutter evidently flustered by his dirty teasing. He chuckles softly, caressing my cheek with the pad of his thumb, “You are so innocent it’s adorable.” “What? No!” I shake my head vigorously, “It’s all your fault for thinking such impure thoughts!” Throwing the blame onto him I cover my flushed face with the now wet sleeves of my hanbok. “Well we are going to get married no? Won’t we do so eventually? I’m just suggesting a head start,” he smiles innocently and I shake my head with a tut, “Please say you are joking!” Ji Dwi chuckles and leans forward, planting a soft warm kiss onto my forehead, “I’m just teasing. You are so easily flustered it’s quite precious.” I shake my head stubbornly never once breaking the intensive eye contact from him, “I’m not easily flustered! I am a proper Princess who is aloof and wears a face of unchanging stone!” “That sounds like something you can read from a scroll in etiquette lessons given from your mother or nanny.” “Well…you’re not wrong,” I burst out laughing and it was music to my ears when he joined in.

-

After taking a shower, alone, I must add. I snuggle into my mattress with Ji Dwi closely beside me. “Are you really going to stay the night with me?” I ask hopefully which he nods in confirmation, “You mentioned this earlier on the day that you wanted to wake up every morning like this.” I nod contently holding him close to my body as did he to mine. “Can you tell me stories about yourself so I can fall asleep listening to your voice?” I ask closing eyes. His index finger drew circles into my shoulder blade while he pondered, “There’s nothing really interesting about me. How about I tell you about my favourite story that I heard growing up?” Without opening my eyes I nod and snuggled closer into his chest so that my ear was pressed against his chest, so close that I could hear his even breathes and the strong beat of his heart.

There was once a boy who was born with powers. Powers that allowed him to do whatever he wanted and everyone had to listen to him. His mom didn’t want him because of that so she sent him very far away where his powers couldn’t touch her. Growing up he never knew love or where he belonged as he never had a home. One day he finally decided to embrace his powers and return home. When he went home he finally met the girl that showed him what love meant. Even though he kept his powers hidden he ended up getting many killed just by getting near them, so he’s terrified that he will hurt her one day. Despite the paranoia he opened his heart to her much against his mother’s wishes. He finally found happiness and he was terrified.

Throughout the story I could feel his heartbeat quicken and in all honesty it made me curious, “Was that by any chance a real story?” I quietly ask and he shook his head with a light chuckle, “Of course not. It’s just a story I heard growing up.” I nod thoughtfully and in relief, “That’s good…I don’t know what I would do if that was really happening to someone. That’s so sad.” “What would you do if it was true?” Humming in deep thought I tightened my hold on him, “I would hug him sooo tightly!” Ji Dwi hugs me just as tightly, “You have a good heart.” For all my life I always heard that from others but I never really understood what made me different from the rest, “No I’m only human…I don’t understand why people always tell me that. Doesn’t it make sense though? Why treat someone poorly based on circumstances that they were born with. They can’t help it!” Ji Dwi pats my head in a soothing manner attempting to calm me down, I don’t understand why my emotions were bursting left and right I was usually pretty good at holding it in. Maybe the talk with Han Sung earlier made me feel more defensive about the topic. “Having a good heart should be the norm but it isn’t. That is why you are praised (Y/n). We need more people like you in this world. Especially those who will be leaders,” he explains warmly caressing my (h/c) locks, his voice cracks, “I need people like you in this world.”

“I shall make a promise with you like I did with Han Sung, once I take my throne I will make it all right. I’m going to destroy the True Bone hierarchy, it’s only good for dividing people within a Kingdom and we don’t need that when true success is where everyone is equal,” taking a deep breath I continued, “Does that sound promising?” Ji Dwi never gave me a verbal response but the sealing of our lips meant much more than a ‘yes’. “How can you just break away from traditions so easily? Don’t you fear the results in doing so?” He questions showing his genuine concern but peaking interest to my proposal. “There is nothing more to fear than the injustice that is ruling our every action and thought. I will take the risk of being hated and threatened to make my Kingdom right.” Ji Dwi nods satisfied with my answer, “Very well, then I’ll be there with you every step of the way to make that happen.” “Then I cannot be anymore sure that everything will work out with you by my side!”

I wasn’t sure when I accidently drifted to sleep but when I opened my eyes it was already bright out. That was strange that I ended up sleeping until this late, the sun was already high up in the sky. What was even stranger was that Ji Dwi didn’t wake me up…and importantly Seyeo who never let me sleep past two hours after sun rise. Over sleeping I was groggy but I needed to get ready to help Han Sung with sword fighting, and hopefully be able to get a quick meal in before that. Throwing on a navy blue hanbok and some gold accented embellishments I quickly left my single room, no matter how much I didn’t want to admit it I wanted to dress better to impress Ji Dwi even though it was silly. He would never care about such materialistic factors but nonetheless it made me happy to wear nicer clothes once in a while. Running into the dinning hall I quickly grab a steamed bun before joining the last few minutes of the intensive sword training. My eyes caught Ji Dwi glancing over to me so I waved gleefully at him which he responded with a small smile and a nod. When they ended I quickly joined Han Sung to keep up with my promise. What I didn’t expect was his dramatic pouty face, and that he didn’t voice his problems immediately. “W-What’s wrong Han Sung?” I nervously ask dipping my head to get a better view of his face. He whines with scrunched up features, “You weren’t here to watch me at practice! I was so good!” I laugh whole heartedly in relief that he wasn’t upset over something serious, “I’m sorry Han Sung, I slept in. I’ll watch you tomorrow okay? I promise.” He raises a brow and holds out his pinky finger, “Promise?” “Promise.”

After practice Han Sung mentioned jerky and that’s when I realized that I haven’t seen Seyeo all morning. Which was very odd since he was usually always by my side unless I was with Ji Dwi. Slightly concerned was an understatement I searched the entire Hwarang house for my best friend to no luck. Even asking around no one had a clue to where he went. Sighing in defeat I returned back to my temporary room to collect my thoughts that were spewing with, very unlikely, but worse case scenarios regarding the mysterious disappearance of Seyeo.

Plopping down by the small table I noticed a small envelop on the usually empty surface. Cautiously I opened the envelop to reveal a folded note that held two sentences that immediately caused my blood to run ice cold. If you want him back in one piece go to the Inn. Fear not, every hour you make me wait I will send a piece of him back to you so you won’t be lonely. I couldn’t hear my surroundings as my quickening pulse drowned out any sound in my ears. Scrunching the note I threw it back onto the table along with all the accessories I wore. I was going in for a fight regardless of this person’s intentions, there would be no room for treaty after having the nerve to send me such a letter. Strapping on two swords at my hip I didn’t waste any time dashing out of the Hwarang house. There was a nagging at the back of my brain saying that I should’ve told someone, someone like Ji Dwi but I didn’t have time to dwell on it as I already weaved my way through half of the capital nearing the Inn. Out of breath I made it to the entrance, it was hard to calm down as anxiety took over. What a waited for me on the other side of the paper wall? I just prayed that Seyeo was in one piece and alive. Taking deep breaths I wrap my hand around the hilt of one of my swords and it instantly evened out my ragged breaths. With both swords in hand I slammed the door open with the hilt of my sword stepping in and I saw red, literally. A ceramic pot collided with my temple and blood quickly bled down into my vision. With my impaired I blindly waved my sword, allowing me to slash my assaulter’s arm. It was hard to process anything with a blurring vision but I could make out a bounded Seyeo on the ground. “Let him go,” I order pointing my sword at the man who stood behind him as he drew his sword and held it against Seyeo’s throat. “Drop your weapon or I’ll drop his head,” he hisses. I was reluctant to, of course, I was a fighter and I wasn’t one to be cornered helpless. But I instantly dropped my swords when Seyeo winced when the blade at his neck dug into his skin. Instantly I was shoved into the ground by the man I attacked earlier, successfully smacking my injured forehead into the ground. I held back my scream and took deep breaths, I had to collect myself, if I let fear consume me now I would be useless to Seyeo. With my cheek pressed against the ground I steal a glance at him and I was relieved that he wasn’t missing any body parts. Our eyes lock momentarily and he whispers, “You shouldn’t have came.” “And you shouldn’t have gotten kidnapped you idiot,” I spat back. We could’ve continued to bicker for another ten years but we both fell silent when the sliding door opened.

Biting my lip I raise my head and sat up straight, trying my best to ignore the plitter platter of blood droplets on the hardwood ground that continuously oozed out of my head. “Sorry I had to do that, I know it would be hard to keep you still if you didn’t suffer a serious injury,” a familiar voice coos. A soft hand lifted my chin and there was the Queen in all her glory. “What’s the meaning of this?” I ask evenly and she smiles her usual smile that never reaches her eyes. “My son wants to marry you and I can’t have that. He insists that he will follow you to the end of the world so the only way I could think of to solve this issue is to remove you, completely.” I scoff with a light chuckle, “That is absurd, I never met the man.” The Queen tilts my head side to side which really didn’t help with my pounding headache, “I really don’t see what he sees in you Princess…no Queen (Y/n).” I smack her hand away and instantly I felt cold steel against my neck, “And I demand you to let me and my servant go.” It was the Queens turn to laugh, “That’s where I have the upper hand. He’s not your servant, he’s like a brother to you,” she waves her hand and one of the men swung his sword towards Seyeo’s neck. I scream and grasp onto her hands, “No please! I’ll do anything. Just kill me he has nothing to do with this. Send him back home, he won’t tell anyone about this. He will say that I got sick and passed…just…don’t hurt him.” The sword never met with Seyeo’s neck and hot tears streamed down my face in relief, I could see him in my peripheral and he was shaking his head begging for me to just leave him. I close my eyes so I couldn’t see his tears, I never seen him cry before and I didn’t want to now. “I offer you my head, hang it up wherever you please. Just promise me that you won’t hurt him.” The Queen smiles, “Of course, I’m understanding. Just be good for me and I won’t hurt him. But I warn you, pull anything and his head will hit the floor faster than you can beg.” Gazing at her unwavering face I nod and sit up confidently, “I understand.” “However,” she starts, “Since you caused me so much trouble I won’t kill you so easily.” I silently stare into her eyes as she tugged at my hanbok causing the fabric to slide off my shoulders, “My son always listens to me, and it upsets me that he will ignore my orders for someone like you.” I grasp the fabric against my chest to keep it closed, trying to save the little dignity I had left. Seyeo pleads for the Queen to stop when she held a whip in her hand. “Please your Majesty, can he leave the room before we start?” Without an answer she flicks the whip, surprising me when the skin on my back split. I squeeze my eyes shut, biting my lip. Not allowing me to catch a breath she threw back her whip and slashed again. I grit my teeth, refusing to show weakness, refusing to cry or scream. By the sixth slash I felt light headed, by the tenth I started to shake but I still refused cower away. She stops for a moment, “Why aren’t you afraid?” Sitting up right once more I try to speak evenly, “I don’t fear death, the only fear I have is to see people like you rule.” I say lifting my head and turning slightly so that I could see her fuming face, I smirk at her, unwavering as she brought her whip down once more. Out of anger she grabs the discarded sword from the ground and brings it over her head. Spitting out the blood that collected in my throat I smirk up at her once more, “People who live in fear are the most dangerous. And you are the perfect example of that your Majesty. I feel sorry for Silla and it’s faceless King.”

She lowers the blade and I finally allowed fear to consume me, I closed my eyes.

Metal clacked against metal, the final blow never came.

“Mother.”

A/n: Fun fact. The part with the itch teenager actually kind of happened to me. The last comeback the reader had I said to the girl who was being a bitch. Lets just say I out bitched her. The bullying thing were things I went through too as a kid.

Your entire life was spent looking up to people who you saw as prettier or of better human quality than you. Having issues with your physical and spiritual appearance was your forte.

There were the kids at school. Who picked and pulled at the little tightly wound curls resting on your head. Saying you were ugly and different because your hair wasn’t straight like there’s. To fix the issue, you asked your single parenting father to straighten your hair.

“I want to be like them daddy.” You’d say while looking in the mirror. Attempting to flat iron your 7 year old hair with a straightener that was off.

In middle school you were one of the few kids who didn’t wear any form of makeup. Uncle Sam and Cas had been building up your confidence over the summer between 5th and 6th grade. But no amount of love could’ve helped with the daily challenges you faced.

Teenagers and pre-teens alike would poke at your face. Making fun of the unruly amount of freckles it held on the surface. The nickname “polka dots” became how people remembered you. As though they need a small reminder of you and the mane of curls wasn’t enough.

It seemed as though everyday of your junior high days was spent with a hood on and a face hanging low. The second Dean noticed this he pulled you out.

“Baby, why didn’t you tell me you were having problems?” Dean was crouched down to your level. Brushing away each crooked tear that fell from your green and brown eyes and simultaneously cleaning the fistful bruising that hugged your eye.

“I thought you would be mad at me.” You looked up into his eyes, watching as they released a tear at the sight of his bruised child. “It’s okay, Daddy.” Reaching up, you wiped his tear away and pulled yourself into his chest.

When high school came around you were far from ready to deal with people. Especially teenagers. They were royal dicks. So rather than sending you to a public school, you and Dean talked about straight homeschool. Which worked out well. You got to attend hunts more often. Of course you weren’t allowed to help too much, overprotective dad and such. Life had been dialing back to normal for you. Well- as normal as it could be for a Winchester. Up until now.

You, your dad, and Uncle Sam pulled up to a house. All of you were going to go inside and do the normal routine. Ask questions. Anything weird. Blah blah blah.

Three teenage girls sat on the porch. Glaring at you and then talking to one another before smiling happily.

“Dad, I think I’ll stay in the car.” You said, all the while never breaking eye contact with the small bundle of girls.

“What? W-” Sam nudged his brother mid sentence. Directing his attention to the girls who were too judgmental for their own good. “They’re not going to say anything to you.” Your dad sighed out with sympathy.

“They don’t have to…” you broke the eye contact you had with them before turning your head completely away from the window.

“You really think some petty teenage girl is going to say anything even remotely offensive when two big guys with guns are with you?” Your Uncle had his arm drooped over the black leather seat. Making it so he was looking right at your hanging face.

“Teenage girls are mean.” Taking your head, you dramatically laid it back onto the seat. Letting out a deep breath of air as it hit.

“So be mean.” Dean piped up, causing you to lift your head with a furrowed brow. “You’re a teenage girl. So if they want to bitches- just out bitch them.” He smiled at you just as you smiled at him.

“Really?” You took one final glance at the girls who were clearly pointing at you and laughing.

“Really.” They both say at the same time. It honestly freaked you out how they did that on occasion.

There was no need to say anything. The three of you reached for the door handle nearest to you and swung it open. The entire walk up to the front door, you never broke eye contact with one of the girls who seemed to be the culprit behind it all.

The two suited men beside you had no issue getting past the girls. It wasn’t until you tried that one of them stood up and stopped you dead in your tracks.

“Sorry. No trash dressed hoodlums allowed.” She snickered. Feeling proud of herself. Your dad and uncle instantly turned around with their eyebrows raised.

“Guess being a hoodlum would be better than being you.” You tried to push past her but her force drove you down the three steps with a stumble. Driving you to land straight on your ass.

Dean was about to snatch the bitch up by her hair no doubt, but Sam stopped him.

“Don’t talk to me like that lowlife. I had a concussion and can’t take your shit.” The girl spat out. Crossing her arms as though she won.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” You pushed yourself upwards and onto your feet before walking over to her and getting right in her face. “Did you hit your head on the gear shifter?” The girl was more surprised you said that then you were.

Without a problem, you pushed right by the girl and made your way up the stairs for a second time. Stopping before landing in the deck.

“Anything to say lemmings?” You asked with confidence in your voice. Both of the girls shook their heads before moving off the steps completely.

“When I said be a bitch- I didn’t think you’d…you know.” There was a large hint of proud parenting on Dean’s face.

“I think these pigtail braids might be too tight.” You laughed out, causing you both to smile just as Sam knocked on the door.

Walking into Pop’s, Y/N heard the jingle of the small silver bell and saw the warm smile on Pop’s face. “Hey Y/N, what can I get you?” He asked, still holding that sweet smile. “I don’t think I’m getting anything today Pop.” She said, looking around the diner for her boyfriend since 8th grade, Archie Andrews. “Well if you need anything, just let me know.” He told her as he headed off to clean more milkshake glasses.

She spotted the red headed wonder and started walking towards him. Half an hour ago, Archie texted Y/N asking to meet him at Pop’s for something urgent. Approaching the booth, she started to get nervous. A meeting like this hasn’t happened before and they’ve been dating for 2 and a half years. But, she’s noticed that for the past month, ever since school got out, he has been acting strange. Distant. The two of them used to hang out every Friday at the Twilight, stuffing the back of his dad’s truck with many fluffy pillows and piles of blankets. The cute little tradition stopped. She thought it was because of the death of Jason Blossom, but maybe it was something else.

Sitting down on the seat across from him, Y/N kept her hands in her lap, looking down at her palms. “Hey.” She nearly whispered to the boy. “Hey.” He replied back, leaning forward so his crossed arms would go on the table. “We need to talk.” He stated seriously. Y/N looked up at him in his brown eyes. The brown eyes she fell in love with.  "What do we need to talk about Arch?“ She asked as you reached across the table to grab his hand, but when her hand grazed his, Archie pulled his back. He sighed, putting his face on his hands. He moved his hands back to the table, grabbing hers softly and lovingly.

“Um, Y/N listen. I-I think we should see other people.” The words that broke her heart. No, made her heart shatter. She started shaking her head no, tears forming in her beautiful eyes. This is why he’s been so distant. Because he didn’t want to be with her.

“What? Why? I thought we were doing okay. I-Is it about Jason? Is that why-” Y/N started rushing out questions, wondering what she did wrong and where she had gone wrong in their relationship. “It’s not about Jason, Y/N. I’m falling out of love with you.” Archie bluntly stated, feeling terrible about how he was making his girl feel. The girl who was no longer his. Y/N pulled her hands away from his and swiftly moved them to wipe the tears off of her sad face. “Oh.” Archie’s eyes softened. Of course he still loved her, it’s just that now there was someone else in the picture. Miss Grundy. And he didn’t want to hurt Y/N, by cheating on her (even though he already did.)

“Y/N, I still love you but not as much as I used to. I-I just feel like we’re falling apart.” He said, trying to make feel just an ounce better. It’s my fault that we are falling apart was all he could think. Y/N started fiddling with her thumbs. “I guess I’ll just go then.” She said, not looking at Archie. “Y/N, wait!” He said standing up after her, his shouts earning the looks of other customers. “We- we can still be friends.” He said quieter now, trying to gain her eye contact but failing. Y/N chuckled, they could never be friends after he broke her heart.“Goodbye Archie.” She said, turning around to walk out the door of the diner, with a heavy heart and the sound of the silver bell jingle once again.

____________

She didn’t wake him as she got up to leave, she was used to their little system now. Fuck through the night, grab a quick power nap, leave his quarters before anyone in the Overwatch compound spotted her. Her relationship with Morrison was complicated to say the least. They had started this no strings arrangement years ago and it was definitely fulfilling but, and she knew this sounded so cliché, something was missing. They had begun as teenagers, fucking like rabbits as new recruits, but Jack was a man now, Strike Commander at Overwatch, he had become more passionate, perhaps without even meaning to - and he was definitely much more skilled. She had fallen for him and she couldn’t deny it any longer, the boy from Indiana she was friends with was now her rock, she was sure she couldn’t have gone through the training without him, their long talks on missions, covering each other’s backs on the field. She sighed, they had built such a friendship over the years, she couldn’t be the one to ruin this.

She glanced over her shoulder, admiring those blonde locks that always stuck out in odd directions the morning after. She blushed as she realised that was her fault and hoped he didn’t have to change in front of any of the team today, those claw marks down his back would certainly stir up a fuss. She moved further from the bed, trying to put some distance between them but still trying to remain quiet. This would never last, she had always told herself this, he would drop her in a heartbeat for any other girl around. She was just easy prey, fair game. She came when called and knew what he liked. He would never love her.

Heart heavy, she ditched his shirt from the night before, moving to find her own clothes. She had to get out of here. Get away from him for a bit. She couldn’t sacrifice their friendship just because she caught feelings, it was selfish and not fair on Jack. She found her underwear, slipping on the garments and turning to try to track down her pants and shirt. She spotted her shirt by the edge of the mattress and hurriedly pulled it on, suddenly worried that Jack’s breathing getting lighter was him beginning to wake up. She searched the room for her pants with no luck, sighing, she ran a hand down her face, only to see a hint of material lying up-

No. No. This was not happening. How did her pants get all the way up there? She stared in horror up at the pant leg just poking out from the top of Jack’s closet and she wondered how the hell she was going to reach it. Eyes darting across the room, she locked on to the chair abandoned at his desk. Cringing as she remembered what this chair had endured last night (surprisingly the cheap desk chair had managed to support the both of them) she manoeuvred in front of the heavy oak wardrobe. Her teeth worried at her lip as she eyed the wheels hoping the punishment it had endured last night hadn’t weakened it’s legs, she certainly did not want the thing to move whilst she was precariously balanced upon it.

Realising this was her only chance of not leaving Jack’s room half-naked, she held onto the wooden handle of one of those doors and lifted her foot onto the cushion of the seat, the thing letting out a little puff of air under her sock. Huh, easy enough. Letting go off the door handle she raised her other foot, the chair squeaked and spun round as she now crouched on it, her arms flying out to try and regain her balance. It stopped turning and she gulped as she now faced the bed, Jack’s eyes thankfully still closed. She shouldn’t have let go off the door handle. She reached behind her, grabbing onto the edge as she slowly nudged her self around until her nose kissed the wood. Great, halfway there. Gingerly she allowed her self to stand, arms anxiously fluttering about in the air to make sure she didn’t topple over - she had come to far to crash to the ground now.

“Don’t you dare spin again.” She warned the chair for a moment forgetting that she had to be quiet. Deciding that the chair was behaving she stretched her arms upward, her tongue poking out the corner of her mouth in concentration. She cursed herself for being so small as her finger just missed the hem of her pant leg, a hair’s width away. God fucking dammit. She tried again, stretching up on her tip toes this time but she was taken by surprise when two warm arms wrapped around her waist, a noise nuzzling at her back.

“Morning, sweetheart.” He rasped against her skin, husky with sleep. His thumb gently stroked across her abdomen, the small action making goosebumps appear across her skin. “Do you want some help reaching those?” He asked her sweetly, too sweetly. She let her arms drop in defeat. Why was he always so sweet to her? He placed a soft kiss to the back of her t-shirt and she felt her forehead meet with the door in front of her. Why did he have to make this hard?

“Are you okay?” He asked, relinquishing her waist as he let her climb down from the chair. He smiled as he easily reached her pants, tugging them down, chuckling. “How did these get up here, huh?” He held them out for her, his smile dropped again as his gaze landed on his face. She looked so stressed, so uncomfortable, was she cold? The heater was on full, it was winter after all. “Y/N?”

“Thank you, Strike Commander Morrison.” She replied bluntly, yanking her pants from his grip. She hurriedly set about putting them on and he crouched down beside her.

“You’re worrying me.” He said and she ignored him, fastening her zip and turning to leave. “Why are you in such a rush?”

“I thought I’d leave before I overstayed my welcome.” The words dripped with venom, stabbing into him almost as much as they hurt her. He frowned, words leaving him momentarily. He would never kick her out, he wasn’t like that, not anymore.

“Stay for breakfast. I’ve got bacon in the fridge, the good kind, smoked.” He said and she huffed as she ran a hand through her hair, brushing it through with her fingers. She was not leaving this room with sex hair. He moved closer to her, a hand coming to rest on her arm, losing the jovial smile to level with her. “Can we talk? I know something’s bothering you.”

“Talk about what, Strike Commander Morrison? What do you want to fucking talk about?” She yelled at him, smacking his hand away and his eyes widened, stunned at her response. She stormed for the door, but Jack was faster, he swept in front of her, letting his back flatten against the door. She made eye contact with him and her resolve broke a little, voice cracking as tears pooled in her eyes, threatening to spill onto her cheeks. “Why won’t you just let me leave?”

“You can leave as soon as you tell me why you’re so upset.” He said gently, he had never seen her like this before, fragile, so downright sad. In fact he was sure he had never seen her cry. His heart broke as he realised this was his fault, he had hurt her this way. Her back met with the wall and she sunk to the ground, knees hugged to her chest and he followed suit, moving away from the door to sit next to her. He moved to wipe her tears from her cheeks with his thumb and a wave of relief swept through him when she didn’t swat his hand away again. He bumped shoulders with her and her head fell back to bump lightly with the plaster of the wall, her hands limply hung over her knees. “Just tell me what I did wrong.”

“You let me fall in love with you.”

I’m Ready To Breathe - Short Malec Fic

He couldn’t fathom.

Alec couldn’t fathom the fact that he was lost. In space, in time, in his mind. He was gone. Dust. Air. He’s physically with it, but his mind is a desert island. It’s so unfilled.

He was scared. He didn’t know how to react to feeling and thinking nothing. What does one do when they’ve lost the ability to come to conclusions? When they’ve lost the ability to process their actions. When they feel mentally… powerless?

“I… have have to go.” Alec breathed out to Izzy as she watched his brain unscrew.

“Where to?”

“Magnus. I have to go to Magnus. I need to feel something.”

“Alec, you know that mother was just being the stern person she’s always been. Don’t take her words to heart, I’m still here.” Izzy explain with an emotion filled expression taking over her face. He knew she cared about him, he just had to get away from the place that participated in the scene that was just caused.

“I know. I know you are… I just can’t be here right now.”

Izzy held her breath and Alec could see through her straight expression that she wanted to deepen the topic of comfort. But she didn’t. She simply nodded her head.

Alec gave her a quick nod of appreciation for giving him space and he left the institute without another word spoken.

———-

Magnus was sorting through his necklaces when he heard the knock on the door. It was subtle and light. The three knocks that were demonstrated possessed a simple pattern. Something Magnus could recognize every time.

It was Alec.

Magnus dropped what he was doing instantly and headed towards the door. He took a deep breath before he opened it, then did it with one swift motion.

“Alexander.”

Magnus knew right off the bat that something was wrong. Alec’s face was flushed and his eyes looked heavy. His cheeks shined with red and his posture was weak. Alec had been crying, and Magnus needed to know why.

“Hey. I-uh… want to talk.” Alec stuttered out, his face still as blank as his mind.

“Why of course, sit down dear.”

Alec dropped his jacket to the ground and walked to the couch knowing that Magnus wouldn’t mind, and he didn’t. He was far too concerned with what Alec was feeling rather than what he was doing.

“It’s my mother.”

“Figures, Maryse is insufferable.”

“I needed to get out of that place. I needed to be somewhere where I felt safe.” Alec mumbled, but he couldn’t be more clear.

“So you came here. You can talk to me. Always.” Magnus expressed as he sat down next to Alec, offering him a comforting hand on his thigh. He wanted to show his love without it being too much, knowing that the main focus was Alec and why he was hurting, not their relationship.

“She told me that I’m hurting the family name. I’m breaking honor and I’m stripping all aspects of loyalty.”

Magnus was about to chime in, until Alec turned to him with a face of… actually, Magnus couldn’t tell. Alec looked so lost. It scared him.

“I don’t understand why everything has to be so planned all the time. What on earth ever happened to plot twists?” Alec tried to joke, but both him and Magnus knew what the topic was at hand.

“Why did she say those things, if I may ask.”

Alec paused. Magnus saw his walls tearing down through his beautiful hazel eyes. Alec was afraid.

“She… she was referring to you. To my interest in you.” Alec muttered with a single tear falling down his cheek. Magnus instantaneously reached out to whip the tear away. A tear that represented not only heartache, but fear.

“You listen to me loud and clear when I say this. Just because you chose to confide in someone your mother doesn’t approve of, doesn’t make you any less of a man you are. You’re outstanding. The qualities you obtain never fail to bring surprise to my everyday life.” Magnus couldn’t have shown anymore emotion than he was now. It was physically impossible. His love was never ending and when he talked to Alec, every inch of his soul was just as involved as he was.

“I didn’t just choose to confide in you, I chose to love you.” Alec paused. “… I don’t regret it, despite the hatred that’s being thrown at me.”

“Alexander, don’t misinterpret poor judgment as hate. As much as I loathe your mother, I know what kind of women she is. She’s all about family. Give her time.”

Alec held his stare with Magnus and never once broke contact. Everything in this world was just so damn confusing for him, but Magnus seemed to be the only thing that was clear.

“As for the first part of what you said… just know that when I put my love in you, it was all selfless. I didn’t know what you had to offer on your part and it didn’t matter, because I only wanted what was best for you. If you chose to stay in hiding, or go through with the wedding, I would’ve still loved you. Nothing can break what I feel for you. Not even all the magic in the world.” Magnus couldn’t be more vulnerable than he was within this moment. His admiration for Alec was burning through the walls that were built around his heart, and pouring out of his mouth like a waterfall.

“Now I will admit… you loving me back is a fantastic feeling, and I’m really soaking it up.” Magnus chuckled and Alec let out a smirk, which made Magnus melt.

“How could I not love you?” Alec put his hand to Magnus’ face and let his thumb stroke his cheek. “You’re magical. Not just because your a warlock, that actually has nothing to do with what I’m saying. You’re just… you’re so out of this world. I’ve never met someone like you. Someone so powerful yet so graceful. You won me over the first time I met you, I just didn’t know how to let myself accept something for me.”

Magnus saw it. He finally saw a specific emotion spread across Alec’s face and it looked like his mind was finally working again. Like he wasn’t trapped in emptiness. Like he knew what to think again. It was all love. Every ounce of it.

“And I’m glad you did, Alexander. You deserve to let yourself feel and grow on your own terms. I’m just forever grateful that you chose to show yourself through me.”

With that, Alec’s other hand reached out to Magnus’ face and he leaned in to find his lips. Alec wanted the sentiment, and he craved to find it in Magnus.

As their lips connected, the kiss screamed passion. It wasn’t fast. It possessed meaning that no words could ever explain. No tongues dared to enter each others mouths, their lips just danced in a steady rhythm. It was almost choreographed, they way their lips knew what to do with one another’s.

Magnus gripped onto the small of Alec’s back, holding him for dear life. The kiss only lasted for a brief moment, but with that simple action, they felt as if their relationship was being described. All the desire, all the want, it was evident.

They both pulled apart slowly and together. Their foreheads leaned against one another’s as Alec’s mouth formed into a smile.

“Stay here with me.” Magnus breathed out, his voice almost getting caught up in his breath.

“I can’t say no to you.” Alec let out, finally understanding what he needed. He needed all that Magnus offered. No words from his mother or stereotypes that follow his family name could lead him away from knowing and desiring that. All he cared about was that he was with the one person he’ll love forever.

He was finally ready to breathe.

listen to carrickfergus here

 Warning: Cursing, drinking.

Words: 2014 oh god sorry it’s so long lol

It had been 10 months since Y/N Y/L/N had arrived on the scene from her native Ireland and if you said that she hadn’t stirred some variety into the small town of Riverdale, you’d be lying.

The night after herself and her family had arrived into town, she took a notion and fancied a burger. She found herself in your typical diner on the edge of town.

“Hiya, how’s it going? A burger and chips please. Sorry, fries.” You said to the dark haired lady behind the counter who smiled and you and took your order. Looking around the diner, you saw the place was busy enough, with one group of teenagers around her age sitting a few botths down. They were eyeing her out of the side of their eyes. Deciding to sit down and get out of their vantage point, Y/N pulled out a stool at the counter. Several moments later, an older man handed her the food and she thanked him as he looked at her with a quizzical smile. She noted they musn’t have many outsiders come into the town.

Just as she was finishing up her meal, a figure plopped into the seat opposite her. “Hey! I’m Veronica Lodge and I’m going to guess by the accent and the fact I don’t recognise you that you’re new around here.” The forwardness of the girl took you back a bit, but you laughed anyway.

“The accent stick out that much, huh? I’m Y/N” You extended her hand to Veronica to shake.

“I love it. I grew up in New York and I’m going to guess by the sound of it that you’re Irish?” Tilting her head at you and smiling, you immedietley liked this girl who was quizzing you even though you had just met.

“Yes, I am. We just got in yesterday. Economy is terrible at home so we needed a change.” Veronica nodded at you.

“Would you like to come sit with my friends? I was the only one brave enough to come and talk to you.” You nodded eagerly, desperate to try and make friends.

As she picked up your meal, she made your way to the booth of teenagers who were eyeing her earlier.

“Guys, this is Y/N. She’s Irish and just moved here yesterday. We’re her new friends.” You waved at the group and smiled a hello.

“Y/N this is Betty Cooper. Ultimate sweetheart and secret badass.” The blonde girl waved at her as her ponytail bobbed up and down.

“This is Archie Andrews, musician and football player. Your real-life Troy Bolton.” She smirked at the ginger boy

“Hey. Jaysus, with that hair they’ll think you’re the Irish one, not me.” The others in the group laughed at this.

The beanie-clad boy spoke before Veronica had the chance to introduce him.

“Jughead. Jones. The Third. Nice to meet you.” Y/N quirked an eyebrow at the funny name, then realised she had heard worse at home.

Since that fateful day, much had happened. Y/N quickly integrated herself to the group and the became fast friends, enjoying her typical Irish sense of humour: sharp, witty and willing to take the piss out of everything, including herself. Herself and Jughead had become very close, and after 6 months, he kissed her and they’ve been dating ever since.

As March rolled around, so did St. Patrick’s Day, and Y/N may not be at home but she was sure as hell going to celebrate in style. She gathered the troops to her house and pulled out a 6 pack of cans of Guinness.

“Right lads. I’m not at home for our national holiday and I miss it so we’re heading down to the bar. First, I got the family to send me these over. Not the same as a good pulled pint but they’ll do. Drink up.” She handed out the cans and as she gave Jughead his she also gave him a peck on the cheek.

“Y/N, darling, I thought you hated the Irish stereotypes of drinking? Because, right now you’re certainly living up to it.” Kevin giggled, taking a swig.

“Now now Keller. I may not like the stereotypes but I’m still deeply patriotic and proud of my heritage. I don’t live up to any of the stereotypes; I’m not ginger, a leprechaun, I hate cabbage, I DO NOT  say ‘Top of the morning to you’ and I do not have a hidden pot of gold no matter how much you ask Jug. Now c’mon, away we go! ” Jughead laughed at his girlfriends antics but followed her anyway. He usually hated the social scene, but, as this was a local bar and not a club; he could do it (for Y/N at least.)

She took Jamie as a chaser, Jack for the fun

She got Arthur on the table, with Johnny riding as shotgun

Chatted some more, one more drink at the bar

Then put Van on the jukebox, got up to dance, you know

After an hour at the bar, Y/N had everyone in the bar celebrating Ireland. The party was in full swing with the whiskey and Guinness flowing. They were all chatting when Y/N stood up and walked over to the jukebox. Next thing, the music changed and on came Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. She walked over to Jughead and with all the strength in her body, pulled him onto the dance floor. After the song played, the young couple played some darts and some pool, in which Y/N beat Jughead at both. During some discussion of whether or not it was an 18 or 20 point difference between the in the darts, she pulled him in for a kiss. No matter how many times they kissed, he still felt like they were the only two people in the room when they did.

You know she beat me at darts and then she beat me at pool

And then she kissed me like there was nobody else in the room

As last orders were called, was when she stood on the stool

After dancing to Cèilidh, singing to trad tunes

I never heard Carrickfergus ever sung so sweet

Acapella in the bar using her feet for a beat

Oh I could have that voice playing on repeat for a week

And in this packed out room, swear she was singing to me, you know

It was near closing time when the bar had quieted down a little that a slightly tipsy Veronica called out for Y/N to sing us an Irish song. Of course, the whole bar had heard and everyone was now chanting “SING!” at a very red Y/N. Giving in, she stood up on a bar stool as everyone fell quiet. Jughead was sitting right below her perch on the stool. He realised in this moment that he had never heard her sing.

Y/N opened her mouth, singing Carrickfergus, and it sounded like the soft ripple of a brook through a quiet forest. The whole bar was silent as she tapped her feet to give herself a beat and sang without a backing tune. Her voice was smooth, silvery and thick with emotion, with a hint of grit. Though there were over 50 people in that room, he could have sworn it was just the two of them, as through the whole song she never broke eye contact.

As she finished, she was met with whistles and applause from the crowd and pure shock from her friends. After many a ‘I had no idea you could sing’ and an incredibly bashful Y/N, she turned to Jughead.

“No idea how you hid a voice that criminally beautiful like that from a detective like me you lady.” She laughed at his words, throwing her head back and wrapping her arms around his neck.

The group said their goodbyes outside the bar, and Jughead and Y/N began to make their way back to hers, hand in hand. Both taking a deep breath of the cool spring night air to rid themselves of the smell of smoke, whiskey and wine that had attached itself to their coats.

Now we’ve outstayed our welcome and it’s closing time
I was holding her hand, her hand was holding mine
Our coats both smell of smoke, whisky and wine
As we fill up our lungs with the cold air of the night

They laughed and joked around the whole way home, and upon reaching Y/N’s door; it was decided that Jug would stay the night. Her parents loved him anyway so that wasn’t an issue.

“I’m fucking starving, do you want anything from the kitchen” She called over her shoulder.

“Me too. It’s me Y/N, I’ll honestly eat whatever is in your kitchen and lots of it.” He heard her glorious, melodic laugh from the other room.

She walked out with a packet of Doritos and sat on the sofa with him.

“Jesus Jug, that was one of the best bloody nights of my life. I can’t thank you enough for coming with me, I know it’s not either of our scenes but I had to make an exception for St. Patrick’s Day. I love you.” She smiled up at him from her place beside him.

I walked her home then she took me inside

Finish some Doritos and another bottle of wine

I swear I’m going to put you in a song that I write

About a Galway girl and a perfect night

“I love you too. You know, I feel a short story coming on about tonight. A perfect girl and perfect night. I’ll call it Galway Girl.” He laughed at her face.

“You know there are places in Ireland apart from Galway right? I’m not even from Galway.” She nudged his shoulder and raised an eyebrow.

“Alliteration, Y/N. Alliteration. I have poetic license with this stuff.” Jughead smirked at his giggling girlfriend.

“You know, I just thought. I speak another language and I could say anything I want about you in it.” Y/N laughed at the false scandalized look on her boyfriends face.

“Is pian so thóin tú.” She kisses his nose as she says this.

“Does that mean ‘I Love You’?” He cocked an eyebrow and looked at her smugly.

“No. It means you’re a pain in the ass.” She doubled over laughing as he slapped a hand over his heart, pretending to be wounded. She climbed onto his lap and pushed the beanie off his head and brushed back the stray hairs. Studying his beautiful face and staring into his eyes, she kissed him, soft and slow and filled with love.

“Tá mé in ngrá leat” She whispers, foreheads touching.

“Does that mean I love you?” He whispers back, breathlessly.

“Yes, that means I love you.” She chuckled.

“Well then tá mé i ngrá leat as well.”

For the rest of the night, the young couple lay in stitches, with Y/N trying to teach Jughead her native tongue. By the end of the night, he had the important stuff down perfectly.

Y/N was drifting off to sleep, head on his chest and legs tangled together.

“Hey Y/N/N?” The girl hummed in response.

“Tá mé i ngrá leat.” He whispered into her hair.

A smile broke out on the girls face, as she felt so at home in this boy’s arms, and he felt the same.

“Tá mé i ngrá leat freisin.” And with those final words whispered, the young couple drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.
