RIP Lil Peep. I don’t want to believe this. You brought such a dope new sound to the scene, influenced so many other artists, and helped out many by being very open in your music about your problems. You were one of my favorite artists and I tried to post every song of yours I could because they’re all so amazing to me. You had come so far and had such a promising future in store. I’m heartbroken right now but thank you so much for being unapologetically yourself. Rest easy hellboy, GBC forever❤️🌹
Hey, Nanite here. I’m a long-time Sonic the Hedgehog fan and am currently a mod on the @sonicpositive and @motivationalsonic blogs! Cutting to the chase, I’ve been asked by several people who my favorite ‘version’ of Sonic the Hedgehog is, since the franchise has so many different continuities to choose from. I couldn’t decide, so I’m gonna draw some Sonics (not all of them, we’d be here all day) and rate them! Starting we have:
Classic Sonic! What a guy who’s fly, a blue dude with a ‘tude– it’s the original Sonic! How could I not love him? Good and wholesome. Saves little animals. 12/10.
Archie Sonic! Boy does this guy bring back some of my best memories. Me showing off the latest issue to all the other kids in class, reading them out loud to my little brothers and trying my best to get their voices juusttt right. Tons of fun and action and some of the best characters in the whole franchise! Sad to see him go, but I have no doubt IDW Sonic will be just as way past cool! 100/10!
Modern Sonic! Fun games, great music, and a rockin’ look! This guy is all about fun and being a hero and he inspires me every day. Keep on running, Sonic. 10/10.
SatAM Sonic!! I remember being a kid, finishing an episode, and going into the woods behind my house so I could pretend to be a Freedom Fighter and protect the forest from Doctor Robotnik. Tried to dig a hole beneath an old stump so that I could retreat to my own “Knothole Village”. Didn’t get far, but boy was it fun. 15/10.
Dreamcast Sonic! (Adventure Sonic)! Boy oh boy, this guy was the BOMB! Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 STILL are two of my favorite games. From the Chao Gardens, to the fun stages, to the absolutely unforgettable music, I think Sonic made a pretty decent transition into 3D. Open Your Heart, dudes. 11/10.
Boom Sonic. Is this the one everyone was waiting for? I sure hope so. I had lots of fun playing Sonic Boom. Yeah, it was glitchy, yeah, it was tough, but there was something incredibly charming about it. I don’t know if it was the character interactions, or the humor, or maybe it was the fact that I had someone else to play it with and it’s more enjoyable with a friend. Say what you want but I liked the game and I love the show. Boom Sonic is funny, relatable, and as always, cool. 10/10.
And last but certainly not least, Werehog Sonic. I love him with all my heart and can’t get enough of this hoggo. He’s not as fast as any of the other Sonics on this list, but his heart is just as big, if not bigger. He only looks scary!! He’s actually a big softie who loves his friends, just like any Sonic should. Sit, Stay, Roll into a ball. This Sonic is a Good Boy. 10000/10.
Annnnnnd there you have it! All the Sonics are good to me and they all have a special place in my heart. “But Nanite, what about Metal, Underground, Aosth, and Riders? What abou–” Hold up!! I intend to rate most of the Sonics I can think of, but I’ll be saving those guys for next time. Though something tells me we’ll come to a similar conclusion haha. Anyway, hope y’all liked the many Sonics! If you actually read to the end of this the surprise is that they’re all transparent and free to use!! Sonic gets a lot of flack, but hopefully this helps spread some positivity! Love ya, Sonic!! <3
Hinata’s quirk is “Fly High”: he can jump up to 30 meters with ease! He’s able to scale some impressively tall buildings with just a few quick jumps, or leap his way ahead along the streets! In between leaps he truly looks like a bird mid-flight! He’s got to be careful though–having great jumping ability doesn’t mean he has great adhesive ability, and if he loses his grip he can take a pretty nasty tumble
(Hinata’s trademark is his incredible jumping skills, so what better quirk than one that enhances that ability further? I also thought it’d be nice to keep that human flight imagery that surrounds him, and also Fly High is one of my favorite Haikyuu anime openings!)
“My dressing room is like, 17 flights up. It’s good for my legs” “I’m actually the green cap for this production. I have a lot of paperwork that I haven’t sent to the Broadway Green Alliance.” “*whispers* [talking about Ben’s dressing room] It’s a magical place.” “Here we are, 75 flights up. Penthouse level, I like to call it.” “Up here, this is my favorite, all of the cast from all the performances that we’ve done so far. Who knows what we’ll do with them. Maybe you’ll find out someday!” “This is the ladder to the roof that we’re not allowed to use.” “And I love gummy bears! Anyone want a gummy bear? Love gummy bears.”
Mike: Hey can I steal some water? Michael Park: YES. BYE WILL. *closes door*
“This is a big door. This door opens out to an alleyway that we share with the Richard Rodgers Theatre so this is almost like how I can go to see Hamilton but I can’t.” “Because I don’t want anyone else’s germs. Especially Ben Platt.” “It’s all run by robots. Cause this is the future.” “More sound stuff. I have NO idea what it does. More robots! Don’t stick your fingers in there!” “This is a cabinet.” “Will Rowland: master electrician’s of the Music Box. Will Roland: star of Dear Evan Hansen.” “This is where I got to kick you out have a nice night.”
Oh hey @taylorswift! 💛

some highlights from Murder on the Rockport Limited from a first-time TAZ listener
the leech battle in the swamp, like all the battles, is set up pretty much exactly like a pokemon battle
angus macdonald is the smallest sweetest boy in the whole world and I won’t forgive griffin if he ruins it somehow
sweet ango is way too trusting of these shady grown idiots talking to him
these grubby idiots can’t keep up a grift for longer than 6 seconds
travis has magnus be so incredibly mean and rude to angus for no fucking reason
jenkins the shitty wizard train butler is the funniest npc so far and its bc griffin made him a disaster of a person
angus: "i’m the world’s greatest detective!“ magnus: "i roll my eyes” angus: “okay, well i was good enough to see through your horseshit”
i just don’t understand why the hell rockport would hire an UNSUPERVISED CHILD to investigate a serial killer
sweet ango eliminated the grubby grifters as possible serial killer suspects based on the fact that they’re just too damn stupid and incompetent
grififn opened a money zone break by apologizing for killing Fan Favorite Shitty Train Butler Jenkins
the mcelboys took a quick break from the action to give clint shit for being old and making old references
magnus tried to steal jess the beheader’s soul-bond axe from her, like it’s not her goddamn property
griffin in the money zone break: “god i hope yall like murder mysteries” like uh yeah griff, we’re good, we all promise
jess the beheader: “do you guys like gambling?“ "uh, yes?” “lets take bets on how far I can throw each of you” Instant Favorite Jess the Beheader
sweet ango asked the grubby grifters NOT to kill the culprit and its like aw shit kid better lower your expectations of these idiots
magnus: "hold on, lemme think" sweet angus: “well, i kinda already got everybody horny for the solution"
griffin straight up deus-ex-machina prevents magnus from contacting killian to help clean up their goddamn mess
justin: “we gotta get character voices-” [travis attempts a Magnus Voice] “-that don’t sound like death and sadness….mixed into a pudding”
travis: “I just gotta grab onto the last train car. but that would take an immense dexterity roll" griffin: “yeah. and if you fail….I’ll kill you”
jenkins the shitty train butler wizard was clearly the most fun npc since magic brian the german idiot
griffin: “no, go ahead and toss this incredibly valuable item into your fucking jansport”
the grubby grifters acquired a second relic and i really gotta question the competency of the other employees of the bureau of balance, if these morons are the most successful at this goddamn world saving mission
this umbrella is showing sentience and it fucking ate shitty jenkin’s magic wand and while I have an idea of why, it still seems pretty goddamn suspicious
i really thought griffin was gonna fuck around with sweet ango’s life, but no. it turned out to be fucking justin robbing this poor innocent child of his grandpa’s silverware
“can we disconnect the train from this locomotive?” “yeah, we can do that, but the train is still gonna hit neverwinter!“ "have you met us? that’s some other dnd campaign’s problem”
griffy made a goddamn genius level murder mystery with a classic plot twist and memorable characters and a unique murder weapon on par with some agatha christie shit and I’m so proud of him and this arc was so fun to listen to
You looked up at Ashley as she entered your bedroom. You shook your head while unbuttoning your dress shirt, “Horrible.” You slid your skirt off and walked into your closet, “The whole town council showed up today. They want us to find a new location.”
“Why?” she asked as she sat on your bed.
“Well apparently the loud motorcycles are too much for the yuppies that moved into that high end subdivision down the road.” You said, putting on your new t-shirt that you had ordered for the bar. “Luckily, their vote didn’t win, but I have a feeling this won’t be the last time I hear from them.”
You walked out into the bedroom and held your arms up at your sides, “What do you think of the new shirts?” You asked Ashley.
She turned her head and puckered her lips in speculation, “Turn around.” You did a slow twirl, showing the wolf howling at the moon on the back. “I like these better than the black ones. The navy color looks better with the theme.”
“Good, I have yours in the living room.” you told her before grabbing your shorts and pulling them up your legs.
“Have you talked to Bucky?” she asked before standing up and fixing her hair in the mirror above your dresser.
“No,” you said surly. “But he told me before they left for their mission that I wouldn’t hear from him much.”
Hey, so I've never read any Klance fanfic, but I def wanna start ! What would you say , so far, are the Classic (tm) klance Fics that every fan should read?
(rubs my little hands together)
I’m in a good mood for once so I’m actually going to try to cobble all of my favorite fics together… I have a ridiculous number of ao3 tags open right now, and my computer will most likely burst into flames before I finish this post. I haven’t read Klance fic in so long, so most of these summaries will be off the top of my head lmao.
First off, the must reads in no particular order (aka the ‘fics with the most kudos for good reason fics’):
This fic is ridiculously popular, and with good reason. Scenario: wrong-number fic, done so, so right. Long-fic, slow burn, Pidge and Hunk are there for way more than moral support… The most important relationship is obviously Klance, but the author makes sure to develop the friendship between Pidge and Keith and Hunk and Lance. It also has smart Lance, which is just so God Trucking Bless. Incredibly worth it.
One of the first Klance fics I’ve ever read, and still one of my favorites… Lance is injured, really mcfreaking injured, and as some sort of last-rights thing he confesses his huge crush on Keith to a panicked Hunk. It’s so good, and only four chapters so you’ll get through it quick.
This fic might just be my favorite Klance fic ever, or at least top three. Lance asks out Keith only he doesn’t realize it’s a date and they become boyfriends without Lance even noticing… It’s hilarious and funny and sweet and I could gush about it for ages if you let me lmao. Please read it… The sequel is also really great, just very NSFW, and from Keith’s pov primarily… So good.
[Edit: Anon messaged me and said that there was ableist language at one point; I haven’t reread in a while so I can’t confirm, but just incase, warning!!!]
THIS FIC… IS SO GOOD… I remember Xiem reccing me this and then just KEYSMASHING AT EACH OTHER FOR A SOLID HOUR. Bruh this is Bonafide Lit. This is like… Episode material. I would watch an hour of this, every day of my life, until I drop dead because it killed me good. This is 18k of awesome writing, like I don’t think my summary could do it justice. Please read it.
This fic is so unbelievably good… I’ve recced it before so I’m just gonna use my previous description lmao. Lance is an astrophysics major, Keith is looking for aliens, they meet in the desert conducting research, and it’s 23k of good shit. It’s ridiculously… I want to settle down in a bathtub and reread it in paperback form.
So this is my favorite project I am working on. It will be the most time consuming but also the funnest.
Little Boxes. Boys and Girls. Everything you could possibly need and completely customized.
In each box they will have a onesie & overalls for the boy boxes. For the girls you will have a choice of overalls, tutu or suspender skirt with your onesie. (Also boys can buy girl boxes and so on but I felt it was really important to have a representation for the Little Boys). A customized pacifier Sippy cup Stuffie Coloring Book & collectable toy like a pop keychain or mystery pack something fun like that.
I wanted to make something fun and unique so you can have a little outfit/matching pacifier that is unique to you and only you and like one other person own. All made to order and handmade with you in mind.
And when picking out what box you want you will have a choice of theme. So far my ideas are ;
Kingdom Hearts Anime Magical Girl Steampunk Doctor Who Unicorns Sailor Moon Comic Books (Superheros) Pokemon (Will inform me of your favorite pokemons) Disney Princess (Your favorite princesses will be inspiration) Gothic
Okay so I guess the reason I wrote all this was to share my ideas set to come out with my shop opening this fall but also to get your input, maybe some things you think would work, some ideas for themes you would like, or something you don’t think would work. (:
Summary: You and Bucky are friends for a long time, but lately you start to develop romantic feelings for him. One day one of Tony’s parties everything changes but maybe not the way you wanted or expected.
Paring: Bucky x Reader
Warnings: Talk about death (Pietro’s), fluffly, sadness and a make out session that your mother woudnt be happy about.
Instead of going outside to cheek the noise, you go upstairs to Wanda’s room have never beenparticularly good in at dealing with conflicts, and whatever was happening between Dan and Bucky downstairs was a conflict.
‘What are you doing here?” You ask Wanda when you see that she is in her room instead of downstairs enjoying her party “I could ask you the same thing, this is my room after all.” You close the door, sitting by her side on the floor “Yes it is, but I asked you first.”
“I miss Pietro, this party is everything he would ever want but he is not here to enjoy. Now you, why are hiding?” She says taking a deep breath as she leans on your shoulder “Why did you invite Dan?” You ask her instead of answering her question, you are not angry at her you just want to know why she was meddling into this.
“You are not gonna like the answer but we have been friends for two years and I never felt that you liked anyone of your past dates ,it has always been Bucky on your mind. But the day you came back from your date with Dan, I could see that you liked the guy and you need to give this relationship with Dan a chance… a real one.”
So! A friend of mine on FB asked me late last night for Korean drama recommendations. She’s never watched kdramas before, so without intending to I just vomited up brief feels, synopses, and titles for her from which to choose. These titles were only the ones that immediately came to mind off the top of my head. Seeing as how I assume some of you adorable follower-humans might enjoy kdramas too, I thought I’d share. Most likely you diehards (pun not intended) out there have already seen these, but here’s some dramas to throw in your face anyway! Since it’s my thing, I’m going to
go by genre; so all will have romance as either a main plot line or as a subplot. Brace yourself for the d'awws!
If you’re in the mood for a serious, beautiful, powerhouse of a drama with
adult themes (ie adultery but not really…long story), dreams and money, sacrificing
your true self for security to forsake happiness, and of COURSE sex and pianos,
then you need to watch Secret Love Affair. It is hot and intense and has an
open ended interpretation for a finale that will leave you stunned and happy.
I mean, damn, guys…come on just LOOK at this sexiness!
Plus it’s just a damn good drama all around. So watch it.
looking for something that walks the line between comedy and paranormal, you
NEED to see The Master’s Sun. Its heroine is an hilariously adorable girl who
can see ghosts, and the hero is a skeptic who, when the female lead touches,
makes poltergeists disappear. It’s probably one of the best dramas that
incorporates creepy horror with perfect comedy!
looking for something a bit different, you HAVE to watch Arang and the
Magistrate. Same concept as The Master’s Sun, except the female lead is dead
and a ghost, the setting is ancient Korea, and there’s gods, goddesses, action,
magic, and evil political dudes. Plus the male lead is hilariously apathetic,
and the female lead is a badass who kicks ass as a dead girl! It’s funny and
dark and heartfelt and will leave you with all of the heart eyes! Plus it has the cutest ending that ever cuted itself.
looking for something strictly comedy and a bit silly, with moments of
seriousness and more cute than you could shake a stick at, you need King of
High School. Take an 18 year old high school guy and make him pose as his older
brother as a prestigious CEO in a company that a dowdy, 30 year old over-looked
heroine works at and you talk about some of the CUTEST comedy you’ve ever
witnessed in your freakin’ life!
looking for something hella melodramatic and intense, go with Secret Love. Heroine is engaged to a guy who gets involved in a hit-and-run that kills a girl, and the heroine takes the fall for her fiance. Turns out
the victim was the pregnant girlfriend of the male lead. The drama explores the idea of falling in love with someone, even as you hate them. Suffice to say, IT IS
INTENSE, and a bit nuts of a drama, but it will leaving you feeling all of your
emotions and then some.
If you want
some time travel in your drama diet, go with Queen In Hyun’s Man. Hero is an
ancient Korean scholar who finds himself traveling to the future, where he meets the female lead, an aspiring actress who lands the role
of the Queen from our hero’s time period. Comedy, cuteness, angst, and
adorableness ensues. And smexy kisses. OH MY GOD THE SMEXY KISSES!
Keeping in the
same vain as the historical theme, Sungkyunkwan Scandal is adorable and
perfect! Set in ancient Korea, in order to protect her family our female lead
disguises herself as a boy to get into a university of sorts that only permits
men. Cue “male lead finds himself attracted to a boy despite him not being
gay” theme and much hilarious ensues. Ignoring the gay panic is a must,
but if you can it’s so entertaining and will leave you so damn amused!
And, last but
not least, keeping with the gay-panic theme, Coffee Prince. Coffee Prince is
probably one of the best kdramas ever, and it’s basically the same premise as
Sungkyunkwan Scandal; female lead lands a job in an all-male working environment
to support her family. The only real difference is that in Coffee Prince, our
heroine opens and closes the drama as a very tom boyish, masculine girl. She’s
never subscribed to gender roles, so it makes her character far more
interesting. There’s angst and cute and smexy kisses and great characters and everything you could ever want in a drama!
Request: Hello!!! So
I was wondering if you could do a little sister winchester fic where the sister
is having a bad day in terms of depression and Sam is at college so she calls
dean who’s on a hunt because she’s afraid of what she might do to herself…if
that’s too dark I understand if you don’t want to! Anyways I love your writing!
Sorry for the long message!
A/N: Hello there

the way you want it! I love you, and to all my boos ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING! My

“Y/N!” a brother screamed. Tears rushing down his cheeks,
wanting nothing more but to somehow heal you.
“D-D-Dean,” you sputtered out, just as the impala’s engine
had sputtered out that horrific noise early that morning.
“Baby girl hold on, hold on,” he cried, gripping you in his
lap, trying to reach for the phone all at once. His fingers moved over the
screen of the phone, hoping to somehow type in the unfamiliar number of his
lost brother without looking. His cheeks were red, tears scarring them with a new-found
color that shaded the skin even more.
Fumbling and holding onto his baby sister’s, your, form he
finally got the number correctly indented into the screen, and pressed the fold
up to his ear.
A groan answered before a small and breathy “Hello”.
“Sammy, Sam, she’s, it’s my,” Dean spat as he spoke, trying
not to choke on the air entering and exiting his throat at the same time.
“Dean? Slow down, what’s going on?” he still had the boyishly
charming voice, even when in the confusion of a cold night.
“Sam, it’s our little sister,” he cried out, “Its Y/N”.
With a panic lacing over the conversation, and agreement to
meet at the nearest hospital to Dean was made. A soft sense of comfort was
felt, knowing the two would be at the same place once again.
Dean gripped your unsteady form, and drove you to the
nearest hospital. Workers and unfamiliar hands gripped your bloodied wrists,
and a latex filled the nostrils of your unconscious form. Your brother followed
the stretcher that held your small body. He pushed past many of the same arms
that tried holding him back, stating they needed room to work.
You were his responsibility, it was always known he was to
look out for you. He had failed with Sam, and he was now off at some college,
learning how to live some white-picketed fenced job and partying with alcohol
instead of using it to clean wounds. He had now failed with you, letting a
darkness fill your mind and create a hostile environment through your veins. He
let your depression win.
You had called him earlier that morning. He had left your
fast food bagged breakfast on the hotel table. He had written the note as
always, stating his location and that he would be back in two days. He planned
on finishing a hunt, per his father’s orders, and then heading back to you.
The call had been crackled, and disoriented as you asked him
to come back. Without an actual reason for return Dean continued on, not
understanding that the demons that took shelter in your mind, the one tormenting
his baby, his little sister, had conjured up another torture of sadness, and a
feeling of an emptied vessel. With pure intention, he ignored your plead for
his return, and he moved on down the road, promising to be home later that
night instead of on a few days.
As he was gone, your mind played with you, and led you to
the bathroom. You had not known things were as far along as they were. You
wanted it to end, you were tired. Oh, so tired.
You found the razor blades, making thin lines appear red as you
prayed, wishing Dean would have listened to you. Everything you had feared you would do seeped through your tears and onto the counter.
But the thoughts kept playing with your soul, and the
thoughts of an absent father and two brothers made you feel w o r t h l e s s.
That’s when one line smeared into five, and then continued
on. Soon you were on the floor, leaving all behind, when your eldest brother
paced into the bathroom. He gripped your wrists, and pulled you into his lap.
This led to the current position of his stress, and a car
holding a slightly younger, but just as mature, man flying down highways.
Arriving at three in the morning, Sam rushed into the
emergency room, watching the hustle and bustle flow throughout the hallways. He
spotted his brother pacing outside a room, and just beyond his scruff form a
smaller, but not as small as he remembered, girl laying in the bed. Her eyes
shut, looking an eerie peaceful, almost as if this was not the peace she
His eyes fill with tears identical to those that his brother
had before. He moves in closer to his brother, Dean, who he hasn’t see in three
years. He stands awkwardly, hoping the tears will dry so the new memory his
brother will embed into his mind won’t be a distorted image of him crying. He’s
grown now, and needs to pull through emotions in order to help with this, is baby
sister laying on a hospital bed.
“Sammy,” a gruff, and broken voice calls out.
“It’s Sam,” he sighs, realizing this isn’t the time to
correct a childhood habit.
“So, she, uh, was having a rough day?” Sam asked, trying to
comprehend the sights and smells of the surrounding.
Dean looked at his younger brother. “No, she was having a
horrible day and we weren’t there!” he whisper yelled, tears forming again.
“I mean, I couldn’t really be there,” Sam replied.
Dean looked at him, wide eyed, “Oh, you couldn’t huh?” his
voice grew louder, “You couldn’t call in and check on the only beautiful thing
in this world? You couldn’t call in and ask her how she was doing, or better
yet ask her to come visit? You couldn’t be damn brother to the only important
thing this chaos has given us?” Dean started, catching his sobs.
Sam looked to the corner of his vision, fighting the tears,
“Damn it Sammy, or Sam, whoever the hell you are. You couldn’t be a damn
brother to your own baby sister and when I call asking for you to help me watch
her possibly die you come in saying you couldn’t get to her when you…we
both…could have been there,” Dean placed his hands on his head, swaying to the
“I’m saying-,” but Sam was cut off by a doctor.
“Excuse me? Are you the guardian of Y/N Winchester?” the man
asked. His clean-cut garments suggested he had not touched their sister’s
Both nodded, and Dean stepped forward, leaving Sam slightly
“Your sister is in a state of unconsciousness. She did not
do severe damage to any veins or arteries. Both the loss of blood and amount of
stress the body was trying to compensate for made her collapse. She will be
under surveillance until she wakes up, you both are welcome to stay with her,”
he smiled, and lightly touched the arm of Sam, “However, she may, and most
likely will need to undergo treatment for-,” but Dean interrupted him.
“Thanks doc, we’ll talk about that later”. The doctor
nodded, and headed off down the hall. “This discussion is not over,” Dean
pointed towards Sam, and then entered the room his little sister laid in.
Sam placed his head against the glassed window, and looked
up to the ceiling. He was lost in thought until he felt a slight vibration in
the pocket of his jeans. Hoping for an excuse to recede out of his own mind, he
flipped open the small device.
“Hey babe,” he sighed, “She’s unconscious, but we may have
When I first saw the trailer for Fantastic Beasts, I thought Queenie was going to be your stereotypical annoying air-headed side character. I was so wrong! She is my favorite character so far, and was one of the reasons why I fell in love with the movie. Luna is my favorite Harry Potter character, and Queenie reminded me so much of her. She was kind, open minded, strong willed, and smart!
I could talk about Peter being an adorable fanboy, generous ambassador of his role or incredibly talented artists. But by far my favorite thing about him is his open and uninhibited adoration for his wife. So I collected a few examples even though there are sooooooo many more. He mentions her in almost every interview and I think that is absolutely wonderful.
So here is to you, you stunningly beautiful human being.
You take him in, his emotionless face as he himself takes your confession in. He doesn’t move a single muscle, except for his dark eyes that meet yours.
“Let me explain, won’t you? It all started in 1934-…”
Detective Do’s face broke, and his eyes grew crazed, wide and screaming as the realization dawned upon him. You paused, swallowing back the lump in your throat before starting yet again;
“My story starts in Siheung, 1934, in Korea under Japanese rule, with a handsome, rich man named Kim Jongdae.
Jongdae was only a year older than me and the son of a Japanese doctor and car collector whom had found a wife and settled down in Korea. His mother was Korean and his father was as mentioned, a rich Japanese man. This enabled the family riches with seemingly no limit, however, despite what you might think, that was not the reason why I loved him.
I was staying the summer at my aunt’s house in Siheung, close to the Kim family’s mansion, and one beautiful morning as I took a stroll, I bumped into him. My simple plan to stay with my aunt for the summer turned into me being so forcefully pinned down by his adoration and this luxurious ring he pushed onto my finger. We fell in love so quickly, quicker than any car his father owned. And still, to this day, - I wish his father hadn’t ever received that new car that faithful day.”
Siheung, Korea, 1934
You stormed through the grand halls of the familiar mansion, not caring much if you stumbled into a door being pushed open or one of many expensive vases. Actually, you’d love it if Ms. Kim had redecorated to your wishes, your fist was itching to break something irreplaceable. As you ran, your cheeks flushed with embarrassment and your stomach was tight with rage. Just how could he?
“Y/N, darling-” His voice was loud, closing in on you as you jogged through the empty living area, almost stumbling over the thick edge of the foreign carpet. With an annoyed huff, you closed in on the front door. You saw the light on the end of the tunnel but just as you reached for the door handle, your fiancé grabbed hold of you and tugged you into his chest. Only for you start squirming stubbornly under his hold, of course. He huffed sadly, jokingly at your struggling.
My long-winded and long-overdue Hamilton Chicago review
Here’s the thing, I could go on for hours about why I love Hamilton and the impact I think it’s going to have, but that’s a post for another time (that will come, because I have a lot of emotions about this show). For the time being I want to offer my thoughts on the Chicago cast compared to both the original Broadway cast (OBC) and the understudies I had the privilege to see. (A word on some of my comparisons: I’ve seen Hamilton a few times, and at least three different actors in each role, so that’s the basis of my Chicago review.)
Because of my ridiculous obsession with this show, I found myself in Chicago last week to see my favorite show yet again. I had the chance to see the show back in October doing opening weekend, and I was astounded to see how far this cast has come in five months. Don’t get me wrong, they were phenomenal to begin with, but this most recent performance blew me away (pun intended).
(If you want the short and sweet version of my comments, check out the tl;dr before the cut.)
In the room where it happens
Seeing the Chicago cast twice was an interesting experience, because with the exception of the parts of Burr and Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, the cast was the same. The one constant, however, was the pure fire and energy this cast brought to the stage. They had a sort of bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed feeling that made the excitement in their eyes infectious.
Looking at the Playbill, you can see the cast is overwhelmingly younger than their Broadway counterparts. For many of them, this is their first gig, so rather than having credits of former shows and national tours, they had thank you’s to parents, teachers, and God, but that doesn’t mean they looked inexperienced. On the contrary, they were an unbelievably talented bunch, but they took on the show with a sense of awe and appreciation for the chance to be a part of the phenomenon.
The New York show has an energy to be because it’s been rehearsed for almost two years now and works like a well-oiled machine; Chicago has the drive of a group of people who are diving in head first on an adventure into the unknown together, and it’s that ethos that gives you the feeling that you’re seeing the American Revolution unfold before your eyes.
The rest of my review is under the cut, but here’s the TL;DR:
Miguel Cervantes was my favorite Hamilton yet. Hurricane. Was. Incredible.
Wayne Brady somehow managed to combine the best parts of a Tony award winner (Leslie Odom Jr) and my favorite Burr (Sydney Harcourt) for a Burr that was calculated, emotional,
Joshua Henry was a new take on Burr that was very entertaining.
Jonathan Kirkland as Washington was good, but not great and only seemed lackluster because the rest of the cast was so phenomenal.
Ari Afsar gets the “Most Improved” award because her performance in October left much to be desired, but in March she was a fiery woman and a wife who did not take any of Alexander’s crap - basically exactly how I imagine Eliza Hamilton.
Alexander Gemignani is obviously a Broadway vet with plenty of experience. He made King George his own in such a hilarious and captivating way.
Karen Olivo is an actual goddess and gift to this world who slayed the hell out of Angelica.
Samantha Ware was a decent Peggy, but her Maria was insane. Everything about “Say No To This” felt like I was truly watching an affair unfold.
Amber Ardolino gave quite possibly the most provocative and sexy portrayal of Maria Reynolds I’ve seen.
Jose Ramos is such an adorable human being and his Laurens/Philip had such admiration and respect for Hamilton. It was beautiful.
Wallace Smith’s Mulligan/Madison deviated the most from the OBC simply because he is so different from original Mulligan/Madison Oak Onaodowan, but in the most wonderful way. If Javier Munoz is the “sexy Hamilton”, Wallace is the sexy Mulligan.
CHRIS FREAKING LEE. I have no words. With the right actor, Lafayette/Jefferson can really steal the show, and Chris is indeed one of those actors.
Warnings: Slight cursing, some fluff, drinking, a little bit of angst and jealousy
Word Count: 3.9k+
A/N: This is probably one of my favorite fics I have written so far. I’m SO sorry it’s a little long. I’m really looking forward to writing a part two to this, maybe with some smut ;) Anyways hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

You and Bucky had kind of history you guess you could say. You had feelings for him but you couldn’t tell if he felt the same way. Bucky is a very hard person to read. A few weeks ago you and him had gotten drunk in the living room of the Avengers Tower whilst playing a drinking game. The game ended shortly after it was starting to get to the point where the two of you were just drinking. So after one too many drinks the two of you both got to talking, mainly about your guys’ childhood, how it was growing up, traditions, stuff like that. Not long after that you had reached a touchy subject in your childhood and there was a moment of silence/pity between you and Bucky. Bucky took advantage of the moment and leaned in and kissed you, it took you off guard at first but you started to kiss back. He was a little hesitant because of fear of hurting you, but you didn’t want it to stop. As the kiss started to deepen of course Bucky’s fear got the best of him and he pulled away. You looked up at him with confusion and longing on your face as he started to stand up. He looked back at you for a second with sad eyes and made his way out of the room without a word. Ever since then Bucky has been avoiding you. You thought that you guys might have had something, but now seeing the way he has been you’re not so sure. Whenever you would try to make conversation with him he would always respond with blunt answers. It was driving you crazy, you craved his attention, you missed him as a friend, even though you wanted to be more than just that. So the past two weeks you having doing things to get his attention, even a reaction out of him would suffice. Things like walking around in nothing but short booty shorts and a fitted tank top, and when you would go swimming in the Avengers pool you would wear the tiniest swimming suit that Natasha lent to you. You were hoping to get some sort of reaction from him but all you got were short blank stares. So you got talking to Sam and you talked him into making Bucky jealous, thinking that might get his attention. At first Sam was skeptical but then after begging him, he caved. It also might have helped that Nat promised to go on a date with him if he helped you out.
Hello, my name is Calel, as you can tell from my account, and I am here to complain to you personally. When I first went to Barnes and Noble about three months ago, I thought I was going to emerge from that fine establishment with a cute Harry Potter picture book to read to my little cousins.
What I actually came out with was ‘Red Queen’. The one book I had heard about from my friends, the one book I read the back of and was immediately engrossed in. I read the first few chapters, going 'this is pretty good, I see why my friends like it’.
Skip two weeks later, about mid-August, school is barely starting. I am reading 'Red Queen’ as much as I can. I have fallen in love with Maven, he is just so perfect in my head, he is gorgeous. Cal reminds me of myself, the name and also the 'older sibling must be perfect’ pressure. Mare confuses me, she is the one character that I sit and talk about with my best friend for six hours, trying to figure her out.
As soon as I finish the book, I am in tears in the back seat of my ma’s car. It hurts like a broken heart, because I am heartbroken. I feel betrayed, backstabbed, by the only thing I trusted. This wasn’t how it was to end. No, this book was to be about segregation and racism that I could count on to be the testament to my feelings towards the world.
Red Queen was supposed to be a cute little adventure book that didn’t take place on Earth or anywhere near my time period. It was supposed to be this wonderful book that I could reread a thousand times and find new things every time. But this book is so much more. Red Queen shattered my expectations, took the bar and flew to Pluto with it.
Queue griping with my best friend about it, and all I know is that she’s in the middle of Glass Sword, ten minutes later, we’ve swapped books, Glass Sword for Six of Crows. My ma was expected to pick me up from her house in a half an hour, so I barely scratched the surface of the book. I read to about chapter two in the next few days, as I am now a high school student in the only STEM school in the state.
I am assigned a book report due at the end of October and I reasoned with myself saying, hey, you can read another heartbreaking story for a grade! And that was exactly what I did.
Roughly two hours ago, I had 73 pages to go before I could start on the report; an hour ago, I was in the exact same spot as last time, crying in the back of my ma’s car, screaming for the next book. The neighbors are starting to stare at the blonde girl in the back of an Honda Accord, who is literally screaming at the top of her lungs “you f*cking idiot!”
I fell in love with the characters again, I hate Maven even more than I hate math homework. Shade is my brother, he is what I want in a brother. Cal is basically my crush, I love him so much, I can barely function without thinking about him. I see Mare as myself, we are one, I feel her pain, I know it well. I want to go into this universe and exist.
Miss Aveyard, you are now going, “wow, what a complete weirdo, she recapped the last 3 months to tell me this”. Not at all, I’m saying I literally want to jump into this book and make everything better. Why did you write this so well? How can you make me cry when only the worst things make me cry.
You have a gift, one that many want, but only few can master. Victoria, I love you so much for giving me this world to love, to visualize and try (fail) to paint. I want to to say thank you, even if you have gotten this far into my jumble of words.
