the ultimate insult

hey… you know that story i was writing? well as you probably guessed, it’s on a hiatus. Wait, don’t freak out, i will continue it at some point. I don’t think I could ever completely cancel it because i’ve grown a liiitle too attached to Amara sdjassddf. But besides the fact that the teleporter isn’t working, the main reason I haven’t been updating it was because i’m not 100% sure on where i want the plot to go. Like there are a lot of different directions i want to take the plot and im not sure which way to go? If that makes sense? Anyway, to make up for the lack of updates, have this edit i made a month ago of toddler Amara and her mom!

Girls’ Day Out

The new addition to the True Fluff series! Not super fluffy, and no Dean, but I got a request a while back from @c00lbr33z3y for a girls day with Jess and/or Jo. No Jo in this one, but it’s still on the back burner. Enjoy!!  (Click here for mobile master list link, which has everything from the previous parts linked up.)

Your name: submit What is this?

You giggled as the pedicurist scrubbed at your feet. Jess laughed from the chair next to you.

“Ticklish much?” she joked.

“Gets me every time,” you chuckled. “I can’t help it. The other night, Dean wouldn’t stop tickling me – I thought I was going to pee my pants.”

Jess laughed. “That’s cute. I’m really glad things are going so well for you guys. Dean is head over heels for you, Y/N.”

You couldn’t help but smile. “Good, because I’d be pretty heartbroken if he wasn’t.”

“Me too,” she agreed. “I mean, I’m glad he found a good girl anyway, but I like having someone to talk to besides just the brothers when we all get together.”

You smiled a response; the lade working on your pedicure had started massaging your legs, relaxing you almost to the point of sleep. You leaned your head back in the chair and reveled in the relaxation.

“He brought another girl home once, you know,” Jess piped up. She said it like she was still hesitant about sharing the information, but needed to get it off her chest. “I mean, he’s brought a few girls home, but this was more recent. Not too long before you.”

“He’s never mentioned it,” you frowned.

“Probably because it was disastrous,” Jess smirked. “I think Dean was embarrassed, honestly. It was the girl from the front desk at the garage – I don’t even remember her name.”

You didn’t either. “Isn’t she kind of young?”

Jess nodded. “We were all surprised. I think Dean’s ready to settle down though, Y/N, and that girl was there, willing, and decent. Dean didn’t want to pass on someone who maybe would have been good for him. She has no social graces though, I can tell you that much.”

You mulled that information over in your mind. Dean had told you when you’d been at the garage that the girl at the front desk was probably jealous of you, but he hadn’t told you about bringing her to meet his family.

“For a few months, he quit dating,” Jess continued. “When your friend told him she wanted to set the two of you up, Dean was really nervous. He didn’t even tell Sam about it until just before he headed to the restaurant.”

Now you smiled again. “He told me that Sam had agreed to call him with an emergency if it was terrible.”

Jess wondered if you knew what Dean had in fact texted Sam; deciding it wasn’t her place to tell, she just smiled back at you and apologized if anything she said made you uncomfortable.

“I guess I just wanted you to know a little bit from the family’s stand point,” she explained. “We’re all really glad that Dean has you, and that you both seem to be so happy. Dean deserves a good person like you.”

“I agree.” Then, remembering what else you wanted to talk to her about, you added, “I don’t mean to get off the subject, but is there anything planned for Dean’s birthday? It’s in a couple of weeks.”

“Used to be he and John would go on this big hunting and fishing trip, but since John passed away, Sam takes him this cabin resort place. They do some fishing, I think, but mostly they just relax and do … whatever guys do.”

You laughed. “Sounds like fun.”

“Hopefully this doesn’t make you uncomfortable either, but I had suggested to Sam after Christmas that maybe we make it a couples thing this year. Sam is supposed to talk to Dean about it, but you know how guys can be sometimes.”

“Not always the most proactive planners,” you joked. “That sounds like a lot of fun. I think I’m actually on that weekend, but I’ll see if I can get some vacation time.”

“I’ll get the details from Sam, see if he still wants to do it that way, or if they just want to do a brothers’ thing.”

“Either way, works for me,” you assured.

“Did you figure out what to get him for his birthday?” Jess asked. “Since you know him a little better now.”

“Actually, yes,” you grinned. “But I’m not telling anyone yet. I really want it to be a surprise, and I don’t want any to slip any clues to him.”

“Fair enough,” Jess laughed.

A few hours later, when your toes were done and your manicures complete, and the two of you went for lunch at a yummy Mexican restaurant, Jess hugged you fiercely.

“Thanks for spending some time with me today. I’m glad we’re getting to know each other better,” she said.

“Me too,” you smiled. “I don’t have any sisters, so having girl friends is always great.”

Jess smiled as she got in her car. If the things Dean had been telling Sam were true, and continued to be true, you just might get a sister sooner than later.

anonymous asked:

Are there any other cases (besides Paris) where a cast member was announced but never performed?

I would say Jonas Holst, Raoul in Stuttgart? He did a few previews, but was replaced by Michael Shawn Lewis just three days before the premiere. No explanation was ever given. It should be added that Jonas Holst was in the ensemble in both POTO (2001-02) and LND (2012-13) at Det Ny Teater in Copenhagen, so he’s gotten his fair share of ALW Phantom stuff.

There’s also Kiera Duffy, cast as Carlotta in the RAH concerts, She had to withdraw because of vocal issues and was replaced by the then current West End Carlotta, Wendy Ferguson.

Oh yes, and Claire Moore as Carlotta in West End. She broke her ankle and was initially announced as joining later on, when the leg was healed, but that never happened. Grumble.

Others…?

The Battle Joined

Ok, just gonna dive in with some quick initial thoughts about the ep!

The Intro!

I had been wondering for a while whether or not Bear would incorporate bagpipes into the score/intro or mirror the decimation of the Highland culture within the fabric of the score itself. And omg he actually did take out the bagpipes from it! Save the last stand bagpipes at the very beginning of the title card, I doubt we’ll hear them again this season. Which I’m totally fine with, coz I loved the new intro’s variation! It was beautifully haunting in its familiarity yet so distinctly different at the same time.

(Also noticed they put Geneva into the intro, which I def didn’t like to say the least, more for the fact that the more I see, the more than likely it looks they’ve gone ahead and mirrored the Wedding, which I just do NOT appreciate. Why taint the most beautiful ep the entire series? BUT that’s another rant for another day).

The Battle.

I liked how they structured it. It was frantic and messy an brutal. And I just kept thinking, how oh how did Charles Stewart survive so long? Shit’s exploding, mud’s flying everywhere and dude was immaculate! Like dude’s just sipping on a glass of wine, wig’s not even crooked.

What finished me though was them playing my all-time fave OL piece of music during Jamie and BJRs fight. Like how you gonna do that to me Bear? Play the Dance of The Druids while those 2 are locked in their death dance!? Great moment that gave me a pang for sure. Loved that we got to see that fight, in all is disturbing facets.

Interesting that it seemed like they gave Jamie a horizontal scar rather than a vertical one the way BJR sliced him. Smaller perhaps as well, less grizzly maybe?

Claire walking the moor toward him was 🙌🏼

MURTAGH!

RUPERT! Man, Grant was just outstanding in this ep. More on him in a bit…

Boston.

Omg so much to say here! Claire navigating her way through the alien world of life domestic was heartbreaking to watch and hysterical at times - seriously she lit an actual fucking cook fire!

Got to look pretty when you meet the boss.” Damn Claire… Seeing her sort of submit in that moment to being the pretty little wife was painful to see. But to see the resolve and determination on her face after that douche-boss said “Few women succeed as physicians.” BITCH, she gonna kick all your asses! I did find the dialogue in that scene quite heavy handed. I think a wee bit more subtly would have been a better approach.

Back to Grant.

I love love love that they gave him a few moments to shine and to charge of the situation the way he did. Seeing Rupert be the rock for everyone in there was really amazing. His goodbye with Jamie was such a punch to the gut! Jamie’s “It’ll be good to see the 2 of you together,” was just heartbreaking. I wanted the camera to stay on Jamie and his reaction, as Rupert went out and we’d just hear the shot - that’s what I got and man, it was so much better and gut wrenching than I expected! Grant and Sam did a great job the entire ep.

“I mean to see a quick pace, so try to keep up.” Joking till the end, I'mma miss him so much. His death on the show was way more powerful than in the books.

Domesticity.

Claire’s pregnant waddle was probs the cutest thing in this ep (save wee Bree!). Everything about Claire and Frank was defined in the blink of eye the entire way through. Going from “our child,” to flinching at his touch, in practically 2 secs flat was the story of them. Any smile shared was swiftly shattered immediately by the realities of what couldn’t be bridged between them. Their fight!! Omg the way she says “Never talk about the past! That was the bargain. And I’ve kept that bargain to the letter!” finished me. And the ashtray 🙌🏼. Just amazing performances from both Cait and Tobias.

Surprised just how soon Frank began researching Jamie.

Claire going into labour and having no say was so ugh to watch, like the fucking men in this time took away her choices and right to speak. Cannot believe they knocked her out, but looooved that her last words to the douche-doc were “You bastard.” 😂😂😂 Claire to the bone! But what finished me proper was the “Where’s my baby?” callback to Faith. I’m really glad they didn’t drag out that moment for her, but to see that flash of fear, see her feel her stomach like she did with Faith. Ugh, perfectly heartbreakingly.

And just when all seemed like it was coming together for them, like they’d maybe reached a place of amicability, *boom!* “How’d she get the red hair?” omfg I just looove that ending!!

Overall a great ep, one which I can’t wait to watch again tonight. And catch more of what I probs have missed.

I’d like to think that whenever Spencer has the time he’d go to Morgans and visit him and play with his nephew (because let’s be real there’s no way he isn’t his uncle Morgan would demand it) and there’s just so much love. Savanah and Morgan standing in the doorway as Reid plays peekaboo. The thought makes my heart happy.

I believe Sam still thinks about Jess. He only allows himself to at night when its dark and he’s alone. When he can’t sleep so he stares at the whirring fan on the ceiling if there’s light shining in from the hallway, or he stares at the almost pitch dark ceiling. He thinks about how much he loved - maybe even still loves her. He wonders how his life would’ve ended up if he never went with Dean in the first place. If he told her the truth about the dreams/premonitions he had. Would she have believed him, or would she have thought that was he was crazy and leave. Would she still be alive if it was the ladder. He wonders about the life he could’ve had with her if she was alive. How happy they could’ve been together. He wonders about all the different ways this could’ve ended up differently. He wonders if she’s in heaven, and if so he wonders what her heaven is like. Is he there with her? When he finally falls asleep he dreams about Jess.

When he wakes up the next morning he lays there for a few moments, thinking about the dreams he had. He may let a tear or two escape, then he quickly swipes them away. Get’s up and starts his day, filing his thoughts of Jess away for another dark, lonely, sleepless night.

Okay, I know I’m already waaaaaay too late with this, but happy Halloween! I hope all of your costumes rocked!!

Anyway, here’s a little Halloween facfic from me because I just couldn’t resist. Enjoy!

EDIT: since I’ve been notified I was being offensive with the last lines of the story, I felt obliged to change them a bit. Thanks again for reminding me and I’m so sorry for ruining the reading of your fic the first time!

“Seriously, Dean?”

Dean Winchester looked down at his cowboy costume and back at his best friend.

“What? You don’t dig cowboys?” he asked. “How are we even friends?”

“I like to think it’s because of my ability to put up with all of your foolish behavior,” Cas sighed. There was also the case of having a very pathetic crush on Dean Winchester, but that was not really worth mentioning. Ever. “Aren’t you a little old for this?”

“No one is too old for Halloween,” Dean defended himself. He reached over and gently flicked the set of angel wings on Castiel’s back. “Not even you.”

“I meant the trick-or-treating,” Castiel rolled his eyes and held out the bowl in his hands. “I’m guessing you want some?”

“I’m with Sam, but your sweet little neighbor seems to be occupying his time at the moment, so I decided to come wait for him here,” Dean said as he grinned like a child and reached inside. Castiel glanced over his shoulder to see Dean’s little brother, dressed in a Superman outfit, talking to Jess, a blonde girl his age, dressed like a nurse. He could see them blushing from where he stood, which he found adorable. He smiled, knowing fully well he would get the entire report on their conversation from Dean the next day, as his friend was way to invested in the twelve-year-olds’ love life.

Noticing Dean finally picked his candy, he placed the bowl back on the cupboard by his front door. When he turned around, he found Dean grinning wickedly and holding up a Hershey’s kiss.

“Giving out free kisses, I see?” he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. Castiel chuckled at the implication.

“You are despicable,” he said, shaking his head and praying to whoever might be listening that his blush wasn’t too visible. Dean laughed and tore the wrapper off the chocolate goodness before throwing it in his mouth.

“Hey,” he said as he chewed, “what do you think about some ‘quid pro quo’?”

“I think you’ve seen the Silence Of The Lambs way too many times,” Castiel laughed. “And it’s not like you have any candy on you right now.”

“I meant a kiss, Cas,” Dean said, his tone suddenly far too serious to make the suggestion sound like one of the many jokes he usually teased Castiel with.

“A-a kiss?” Cas stammered. Dean chuckled and scratched the back of his neck.

“Well, yeah,” he said, shrugging and averting his gaze. “You know, you gave me a kiss, and now I could … Forget it.”

“Why would you want to kiss me?” Cas asked. Dean finally looked at him.

“Well, it’s no secret I’ve been crushing on you since ninth grade. You knew that, right?” Dean asked. “I just thought I’d move things along, since I’m getting kind of tired of us dancing around each other, no matter how cute you look every time you try to hide your blush from me.”

“Wait, what?”

Dean raised an eyebrow at Castiel’s dumbstruck face.

“Me, in love with you, you, in love with me. The classic friends-turned-lovers kind of love story. The betting pool our families have to see which one of us will make the first move?” If possible, Castiel’s eyes only widened, making Dean gape in realization. “Really? You had no clue?”

“I … Subtlety isn’t something I am good at picking up on, you should have known that.”

Dean busted out laughing as soon as he heard that, and Castiel joined soon after.

“Dude, I try to flirt with you every chance I get,” Dean pointed out. “I couldn’t have been more obvious than that.”

“Well, apparently I need you to spell it out for me,” Castiel said. “And, seriously? A betting pool?”

“Yup, apparently we’re worth thirty bucks,” Dean said, making Cas giggle again. He stepped closer to him. “So how about that kiss, then?”

“Hm, just one?” Cas asked, locking his eyes with Dean’s. Dean shrugged.

“Well, I did get just one candy.”

“But it was a very good candy.”

“I’ll make it a very good kiss, then.” They leaned in, hesitating and at the same time barely containig their excitement. Once their lips locked into a long overdue kiss, they melted against each other. It was like meeting for the first time and like greeting each other as old friends at once.

“Moooooom! They’re kissing!”

Dean broke away at the sound of his brother’s voice, an irritated sigh accompanying his unwanted actions, while Cas chuckled.

“I wonder who won those thirty bucks,” he murmured.

“Like I give a damn,” Dean answered, pecking Cas’ lips again. And again. And again. “I’m gonna need three more candies, though.”

“Are you serious right now?”

“Hey, it’s Halloween. You can get free kisses tomorrow. Right now, I want my candy.”

“I’m already tempted to break up with you,” Cas rolled his eyes as he moved back to retrieve the bowl of candy. He offered it to Dean, who started picking out Hershey’s kisses out of the rest.

“No, you’re not. You love me,” he said with a wide grin. He had eight pieces of candy in his hands. “Now I’m all set.”

Castiel laughed.

“You know, if you eat this much candy, your stomach is gonna hurt,” he warned him.

“Hey, I’ll blame you. They’re your kisses.”

Castiel leaned in to kiss Dean once again.

“Happy Halloween, Dean.”

“Happy Halloween, Cas.”
