Pictures of the side yard and an overgrown front (where Judas Jr. is on the path). The side yard was suppose to be an orchard but this past winter rabbits skirted and killed ¾ trees, which is frustrating given the cost and time it takes trees to be productive.
The goats and sheep are shut out of these areas and you can see how severely it contrasts to their area in the back yard (last photo). The backyard used to look like this plus a lot of wildflowers until they cropped it down. They also ate all the ferns and brush out of the woods within their five acres and opened it up considerably. Eventually they’ll have another pen off the barn and we can do a more structured rotational grazing but for now I sent them through under supervision so they wouldn’t eat the last apple tree.
The little lamb (hiding in the second photo) could squeeze through the fence so he’s been feasting while everyone was shut out. =p
