and life's changed them

“George’s music is there. He was a beautiful musician and he had a beautiful voice, and he had a fantastic touch on the guitar and I miss that touch. But I’m not doing it to promote him or to make him a legend, or try to make him anything. His music is there. I’m sure it goes for all musicians – how music can change someone’s life and really lead them somewhere. I think for George, he talked about the inner journey and that was very important to him, although he was yin-yang.“- Olivia Harrison to Dave Itzkoff, “Speaking for the Quiet Beatle: Olivia Harrison Discusses the George Harrison Film”  23 September 2011

Do you ever just watch BTS videos and feel happy because they exist? Because Sleepy introduced Namjoon to Bang Sihyuk and he had an idea to form a group? Because Jin was at that street at that exact time and got casted? Because Yoongi saw the poster advertising the “Hit It” and decided to audition? Because Hoseok choose Bighit over JYP? Because Jungkook couldn’t get in when he auditioned for Superstar K3 and was casted by BigHit’s staff? Because Jimin was recommended to audition by his teacher? Because Taehyung followed his friend to his audition and was noticed by company’s staff ? Because these 7 dorks had changed your life for the better?

to be quite frank, keeping the art style simple in mob psycho 100 was bloody genius because thats kinda the point of the whole show. it runs off the fact that mob is an average everyday kid and that despite having psychic power his life doesn’t change drastically, he’s not popular for having them, he still struggles with expressing himself and he doesn’t win the girl he likes over because he has powers. and that reflects itself in the art style of how he is every normal day.

and then theres the switch where all his emotions come rushing out, even the lineart starts to move and he explodes when he hits that 100% and all of a sudden he looks really damn intense and cool and the juxtaposition of him changing from an average kid to this makes for some really awesome visual contrast.

i’m sick of ya books w mermaids and sirens and sea monster girls where all they want to do is run away from the ocean. where they find a boy & fall in love & she abandons her world for his…  instead, give me books where she loves the water & drowns ships just so its passengers can be w the water too. give me books where she finds boys, loves them, then leaves them so that instead of them changing her life she changes theirs (they spend the rest of their days longing for her, always hoping for her to come back but she never will). give me books where her lovely voice haunts rocky beaches, oceanside cliffs, and abandoned lighthouses - the stuff of legends & myths. give me books where she protects the sea and the creatures in it from humans, killing anyone who comes near & harms her home (colorful coral reefs, deep trenches, shallow shores teeming with life). i want their danger, their magic, their strength and power, i don’t want another girl at the constant mercy of others, constantly uncertain, unhappy, or afraid, i want monsters. self-assured and beautiful.

If life doesn’t turn out exactly as you planned, don’t be surprised. Life is the great unknown. Even though we plan and scheme and make millions of assumptions about the future, the truth is that we don’t know what can happen in the next moment, let alone the next five weeks, months or years. So don’t be surprised when things don’t go according to your ideas, just relax and remember, life isn’t personal, it’s just life. Be open to the ever changing conditions and flow with them. Don’t get stuck.

I wanted to tell them that I’d never had a friend, not ever, not a real one. Until Dante. I wanted to tell them that I never knew that people like Dante existed in the world, people who looked at the stars, and knew the mysteries of water, and knew enough to know that birds belonged to the heavens and weren’t meant to be shot down from their graceful flights by mean and stupid boys. I wanted to tell them that he had changed my life and that I would never be the same, not ever. And that somehow it felt like it was Dante who had saved my life and not the other way around. I wanted to tell them that he was the first human being aside from my mother who had ever made me want to talk about the things that scared me. I wanted to tell them so many things and yet I didn’t have the words. So I just stupidly repeated myself. “Dante’s my friend.”

Stefán: [reading the text on the car] The travel agency that will change your life. Hey, we have to find out what their phone number is.

Steinunn: Oh, why?

Stefán: Because.

Steinunn: What do you mean?

Stefán. Because, I wanna try to get their number, a travel agency that changes my life, I have cancer, I’m gonna call them and ask ‘do you have trips for people like me?’ [laughs]

15:47 sometimes the words i can’t say build walls in my throat, post guards to lean against my teeth, an oppression that forces my thumbs to tap out text messages i never let myself send [UNSENT]

15:48 you take my scarf every morning. i think you like how it smells. i think you notice that i notice. i don’t think you notice that i take yours too [UNSENT]

16:10 yess i got the milk, blue like you asked. did you want me to grab bread? [SEEN 16:11]

23:45 every conversation we have is a complicated mess of maybe and could be and i wish it would be [UNSENT]

00:59 sometimes i think i can hear you breathe through the walls. your sighs shake the foundations of our house and they rattle my bones. i hate that you’re unhappy and i hate that i could help if i just opened my mouth to tell you i love you because i do. i do. i just can’t say it yet [UNSENT]

03:09 the last time you told me you loved me it was because i’d stubbed my toe and then flailed around the room like we were on a boat rolling over the waves and i had nothing to hold onto but your laughter and so i prolonged the moment, drew out the pain just to see you smile for a little longer. i didn’t know what to do, what to say, how to act. how to say it back [UNSENT]

08:05 you took my scarf again and i took yours. i watched you through the window as you flung yourself from the front door. tonight i’ll roll my eyes like i always do when i pull it from your neck. i’ll laugh because it’s a habit by now and we’ll linger in the silence that follows, two stars in the same sky but still thousands of light years apart [UNSENT]

22:05 that’s it. that’s enough. i can hear you crying through the wall we share. it’s muffled like you’re trying to hide it and it kills me that you think you need to. i’m putting the kettle on and we’re going to eat cake and i’m going to kiss the crumbs from your face, if you’ll let me [SENT] [SEEN 22:05]

07:00 i think that last night was the best night of my life. i love you. the weather woman said it might snow. i love you. don’t forget to take my scarf when you leave. i love you [SENT] [SEEN 07:01]

Routine is not the same as hard work. If you are doing the same thing day in, day out, it does not mean that you are working at your full potential. In order to achieve anything in life you need to change things, shuffle them around, find new ways to create or achieve. If you keep your life plain and simple you will never have the chance to grow. Do not let routine dictate your efforts.
