do you have advice for budding storytellers? how did you get yours started? did you set out with a story to tell, or just start gameplay and let it take hold on its own from there? i'm really struggling to find a starting point for mine!
Okay, this ask has been in my inbox for a few days now and I’m racking my brain as to how to answer it as best and informative as I can because I want to give you the best advice I can give. 💛
The Reynolds Legacy started with me getting an idea of a founder starting a blog, jotting down what had happened in her day-to-day life. I mainly just let autonomy take it’s course after coming up with that tiny idea.
You can look at prompt blogs or dialog blogs to give you inspiration and ideas.
~ ALSO, i wanted to make each generation a different kind of thing. Like, Gen 1 was a blog. Gen 2 was A Quest For Love, Gen 3 & 4 have been much more storybased though, I would like to do something different with Gen 5.
- I watch a lot of television. Dramatic shows work THEE best with inspiration, in my opinion.
- If you have an idea, write that shit down, so you can come back to it later and see if you really want to use it. I have Google Docs on my phone, I use it for my ideas and future storylines; you can use a notebook as well!
- Work with actual gameplay and posing. Sometimes one can overuse poses, like everything is just stiff and sometimes emotionless?; in my opinion. I tend to go with 75% gameplay and 25% posing.
I really don’t know if this was helpful or not. I hope it was. I hope you’re able to start your legacy soon~ I’d love to follow it!
