Rogue One alternative ending: Jyn Erso & Cassian Andor blowing up the Death Star.

I just wanted to say:

Sometimes people enjoy being alone. Not everyone is “shy” or “a bad person” because they don’t socialize regularly. Not everyone can actively socialize day in and day out and function properly, and that doesn’t make us less of a person, it just means we have different priorities and different energy levels. Not everyone can handle energetic people everyday. Some people wear out from lack of energy and a need to rejuvenate themselves through being alone.

Just because I’m not a socially active person doesn’t mean I don’t care or am apathetic to the world around me. Just because I enjoy just chilling out and watching TV or laying around doesn’t mean I’m apathetic, rude, or socially incompetent.

It means I’m an introvert.

This has been an introverted PSA
  • Ravenclaw: *running* Oh no, I'm late!
  • Gryffindor: The class has already ended.
  • Ravenclaw: So... am I really late for this class, or really early for the next one?
  • Gryffindor: What?

Greenway, Agatha Christie’s house in Devon, England

Featured in Agatha Christie’s Poirot 13x03: “Dead Man’s Folly”

“So, in some strange twist of fate for Poirot and for me, we were to shoot the final sequences of ‘Dead Man’s Folly’ [the last episode they filmed] at Greenway itself in the last days of June 2013, sending Hercule Poirot to Dame Agatha’s own home. It would be the first time that the fictional character of Poirot arrived at the home of his creator.”

I’m really tired of people disregarding Keith and Lance (or any gay ship in general) just because they don’t think it’s possible for two boys to have a possible canon relationship in 2017.

This show is apart of Dreamworks, it’s a kid’s TV show, so that means they’re not gonna be shoving gay content down kid’s throats, because they know how sensitive of a topic it is still to some people. But that doesn’t make it any less possible for something to happen. Most of the creators of Voltron came from LOK and what did they do? They literally left Korra and Asami’s relationship to the last minute and it was nothing more than them holding hands. Except their whole relationship developed well over time and it still meant something.

This isn’t some heterosexual relationship that they can put so obviously in the show since so many kids are used to seeing that from the get go, but they can put small moments and hints to give an indicator.

There have been subtle moments between Keith and Lance that I find hard to view as them “just being friends”, and even though it’s more from Keith’s side it’s still important.

But let me emphasise, if anyone ever saw a boy and a girl in this situation they would think almost immediately that there is something romantic between them, and this isn’t even a stretch:

If they showed Keith smiling at a girl like this, people wouldn’t even hesitate for a second to think he had a crush on her:

If a boy and a girl made fun of/teased each other as much as Keith and Lance did, they’d immediately think it was flirting.

So why disregard it just because it’s happening between two boys? And I know people are also disregarding it because it’s canon that Lance likes Allura. That’s been an obvious fact since season one, but even if it doesn’t happen, Lance can’t like boys either? That’s literally not even an option on the table for some people because they want their straight ships to sail into the sunset.

The producers/creators said that they’d give us some sort of LGBT rep in the show, and it could be between/through anyone, but from the huge af hint Lauren gave us here, it’s either Lance or Shiro are one of these reps, and it could even be both. It doesn’t even have to be limited to just them (because I strongly believe my son Keith is not straight).

So why not just embrace it already? That two boys or girls can fall in love, that it’s OK to have a canon gay relationship in a show. It’s happening, it has already happened in many other shows, so let’s just accept it.

I’m still laughing my ass off at Joker’s Unkempt Beauty trope entries because I swear to god I must have ghostwrote this or something

anonymous asked:

Any chance of a few good modern au fic recs for this piece of enjoltaire trash?

oh I’m sure I could think of a few… *winks with both eyes at the same time*
(also, here’s a list I made from a while back of some good e/R fics!)

Still the One by kjack89

Enjolras and Grantaire’s 50th wedding anniversary.

I don’t want to give it away, so I’m just going to say you should read it. Seriously

Oblivious by kjack89

The trouble with approaching your relationship the same way you approached your at-times contentious friendship is that apparently, no one realizes you’re actually dating. Or else Enjolras and Grantaire just have the absolute most oblivious of friends.

Or both.

I’m so used to the “everyone except Enjolras and Grantaire knows they like each other” trope, so this one was really fun to read!

Combeferre grins. “How long did you wait before you called me?”

There is a short pause. “Two minutes?” Grantaire says, and Combeferre can’t help but to huff out a laugh. “He said three hours!” Grantaire says defensively.

“He’s fine,” Combeferre says, shaking his head in amusement. “He’ll call. He always calls.”

Damn….it’s the slight ambiguity at the end that gets me… (not to be read if you’re in the mood for fluff!! You might cry!!)

Years Since It’s Been Clear by lady_ragnell

Grantaire really doesn’t expect Enjolras to force him to move in with him when he hears how shitty Grantaire’s apartment is. And he definitely doesn’t expect Enjolras to want him to stay, or how easy it turns out to be, or the way Enjolras has a habit of doing his studying in the sunshine on the living room floor …

Yeah, he may be in some trouble.

Everything. Everything about this. SO GOOD (ps there’s some smut at the very end, just in case you’re not into that)

Of Roommates And Hallways by madlyie

Prompt: “we both got kicked out of our rooms because our roommates are having sex so now we’re standing in the hallway avoiding each other” au

Enjolras learns that the guy from apartment No. 27 is much more talkative than a closed door.

Ok this is super frickin cute and the ending is just perfect. 11/10

Fluff! So much fluff! Good things and happy thoughts!

One Hundred Ways to Say “I Love You” by the_sky_is_forever

In which Grantaire and Enjolras take a very long time to actually say those three special words, but if you pay attention, the words are there.

Love love love love love. I felt super content (in an “I’m wrapped up in a warm blanket sitting in front of a fire on a cold winter’s day” way) after reading this and honestly that’s one of the best feelings to have after reading a fic (for me personally)

nothing alike by nightswatch

Enjolras comes across a guy who’s trying to steal his car. Except that he’s not actually stealing his car.

The second hand embarrassment is real (I may or may not have buried my face in a blanket while reading this)

We’re All Stories, In The End by theglitterati

Les Amis discover fanfiction. About themselves.

I had to put this one on here just for fun because I was cackling when I read it

Ice Ice Baby by sigh_no_more

In the almost four years that Enjolras had known his friends, he always managed to avoid ice skating with them. This was very purposeful. It had to be. After all, they lived in the Northeast, so plenty of opportunities arose for him to go ice skating. He just never took advantage of them. Because Enjolras had a secret. A dark, terrible secret.

Given how nosy and internet savvy his friends were, it was kind of a miracle that only Combeferre and Courfeyrac knew about his past.

But it was time.

(Or the Amis go ice-skating and find out a surprising truth about Enjolras.)

Ok I had to include this one on here too because when I was rereading it just now, it kinda reminded me of Yuri on Ice and that made me happy sooo :)

this idea that a lot of people have about aaron remaining a complete asswipe for the rest of his life and never developing as a person or getting closer to any of the other foxes or fixing his family issues is absolutely b o r i n g and i disagree

Things to keep in mind WRT: Joey WLW subtext and her conversation with Xefros

The year is 1994 in Joey’s universe.

In 1994, LGBT issues were almost universally kept completely hushhush from kids. For example, “Ellen” was taken off TV and cancelled after Ellen DeGeneres came out, in 1998.

Even in the 2000′s, while great strides were made in open conversation about LGBT issues, I remember it was still VERY taboo to even acknowledge as existing. I was in high school through 2006-2010 and people would still whisper the word “gay” under their breath.

In the 90′s, the internet wasn’t really a thing. You had online bulletin boards that would take 2 hours to get onto and often forbade any talks of politics, sexuality, or the like. The only place you could find information on LGBT topics was the library, in old encyclopedias possibly from the 70′s classifying homosexuality as a mental disease, IF (and big IF) you could find anything at all.

This persisted even into the early 2000′s. It improved somewhat during what I call the Forum Renaissance wherein everyone had their own more or less functioning web forum and were free to write whatever they wanted in whatever context they liked without having to cowtow to a company’s rules, but that didn’t start until around 2003 on.

Now back to Joey. 1994. Joey seems to live in a small town, with very little of a social ring (just her brother’s friends, apparently), and therefore very limited access to information.

Joey is 14 years old, clearly having trouble at school from her diary entries, and clearly very, very lonely. Joey, like many young WLW, particularly young lesbians (although not limited to just lesbians, of course), doesn’t seem to realize that being attracted to women is even an option.

This is a concept that resonates completely with me, in fact. I didn’t realize I didn’t have to force myself to like boys until I MET someone who was in a relationship with someone of the same gender. However EVEN THEN I still tried, because I was 13, and struggling, and wanted to be liked, and very very very afraid of how people would see me because I was already being bullied and just added fuel to the fire.

Joey’s questioning of Xefros actually echoes a conversation I, in fact, had once. Her quiet contemplation right afterwards is really telling.

Joey hadn’t realized, until this moment, that being in a relationship with someone of the same gender was an option. Joey’s life has been one of sheltered heteronormativity.

She accepted it very quickly. Now she can blossom. Maybe she’ll have a Thing with Xefros. Who knows? I sure don’t. Perhaps Joey is bi. Perhaps Xefros and she will become moirails. WHO KNOWS.

All I know is, her being a WLW is not subtext. At this point, it’s blatantly Text. I do believe Joey is a great realistic WLW character as well, and one that young struggling WLW might be able to relate to if they’re going through the same things as she is.

I know I related to her a lot. She reminds me of me at that age.

This is not Hiveswap’s team being homophobic or what-the-fuck-ever, and it certainly isn’t ‘qu**rbaiting’. It’s literally being realistic for the era, and I have full faith that they WILL address these issues people have over the course of the continuing story. A young LGBT character is allowed to question themselves and society on their own time. That’s part of what makes Joey so realistic.

Now matter how hard I try, I just can’t get the cold open out of my head. Twelve doesn’t deserve to regenerate alone, screaming in the snow. I can’t help but to notice how much of a contrast it is to Eleven’s regeneration.

Eleven was with Clara, in the comfort of the TARDIS with his clean-cut and tidy appearance.

Twelve is alone, out in the harsh cold with torn up clothes and broken appearance.

I just really hope that this isn’t what his regeneration will be like. Cold, broken, alone.
