and is just like 'shit'

I feel like people don’t often talk about Kylo’s line about the ‘lightsaber belonging to him’ despite how big of an insight it is to the past and what we could possibly learn about in the future films.

That lightsaber was passed down to Kylo when he was training (EDIT: there is no confirmation that he received the lightsaber while under Luke’s guidance) and it somehow ended up in Maz Kanata’s possession. We don’t know what kind of relationship Kylo and Maz might have shared, but she seems insightful about the saber’s history and how the Force works and she also highly encourages Rey to take it. Maz has said that she sees the same eyes in different people. She tells Rey that whoever she’s waiting for to come back and take her home is never going to come– touching on Rey’s deep loneliness and abandonment issues from being alone for so many years. She then proceeds to tell Rey that the belonging she seeks isn’t behind her, but ahead, and tells Rey to take the lightsaber which was last in possession of Kylo.

I also think it’s important that Kylo was the previous owner of the saber before Rey touched it and was sent into a flurry of intense Force visions. Yes I think the Force itself had a big role to play in guiding Rey to the saber and showing her those visions, but we have heard multiple times about Kylo and Rey’s mysterious connection, and the fact that the majority of the things she saw revolved around Kylo plays even more into that.

It’s been said a thousands times by different people over the past two tears, but I really can’t get over how greater forces are at play and drawing these two completely opposite, yet parallel, people together for a quest so much bigger than themselves.

The 2nd Act Breakup, or Why it Makes Sense for Keith to be Away from Lance in S4

I’ve seen a bunch of people freak out about Keith and Lance having very few moments in S4, what with Keith leaving for the Blade of Marmora, and so I wanted to maybe help ease some people’s anxiety, by writing a meta on why Keith leaving makes perfect sense for klance, because honestly? That is the conclusion I walked away from S4 with.

We know Keith and Lance are each other’s romantic interests, and as this post says, in the very first episode Lance was introduced as the main character, and Keith as his love interest. Why does this matter? Well, because every good story establishes its themes and growing conflicts right off the bat, so the audience will know what they’re getting into and what problems should be resolved, as well as the different characters involved. Putting something like this in your first episode? it’s a big deal. It’s saying: here’s a pair of characters, this is their current dynamic, now watch it change over the course of our show. This is highly common for a romance arc, which is defined by TV Tropes as “the journey of two characters from strangers to lovers.”

And while Keith and Lance aren’t complete strangers when they meet in E1, they didn’t really know each other before the first episode. Which still fits (TV tropes also mentions how this trope “comes in a myriad forms and flavors”).

So how does any of this relate to Keith leaving in S4, you ask? The answer lies in the Three Act Structure.

the most upsetting thing about this whole situation is that by edward highlighting the fact that the kpop industry is full of skinny ppl, it made a lot of ppl look at kyla not only now as ‘fat’ but lazy, naive and stupid for choosing a career where she would stand out. ppl are talking about how she should ‘focus more on school’ and that she made ‘a child’s decision’ to become an idol when ‘she should have known’ she was going to be criticised

its just rly upsetting that ppl are now not only criticising her for her body, but for choosing and working towards a career she’s passionate about and trying to make her seem foolish for it. she’s a 15 year old girl who’s achieved so much through her talent and hard work and ppl think they have the right to say she’s not entitled to being happy with her achievements bc of her weight. many other young idols are ‘allowed’ to be as happy and proud and successful as they should be, so why isn’t kyla?

MY BABIES FINALLY MET AND HAD LOTS OF FUN TOGETHER 😭💞

anonymous asked:

what did you think about shiro this season? (assuming that this is the real one and not a clone)

assuming it’s the real shiro, i’d say uhhhhh he needs to have several conversations and chill the fuck out lmao. in season one shiro did nothing but support the kids and project calm and reassurance, and in season 4 he actively ignore’s keith begging him to be the leader instead – for all that i personally think keith would be a fine leader, especially with the support of his teammates, i think keith admitting that he’s not comfortable or ready for that kind of pressure is really mature of him? it’s not like this is a group project in school, where experience is good and necessary, it’s leading a war effort, and he’s a teenager who’s made it clear from the start that he was reluctant to lead. but shiro just tells him, ‘if you don’t do this you’re letting everyone down, including me, and i’m not asking you, i’m telling you.’ it’s such a strange paradox to order someone around while telling them to be the leader. do you trust his choices and opinions or don’t you?

besides that, shiro ignoring lance telling them to get off of the planet in the finale, only to realize immediately that lance had made the right call, was super fucking annoying, because anyone should have realized that sticking around was dumb. he just shuts lance down without even letting the others make a call either – a direct contrast to him in the first episode where he tells everyone that they’re a team now, and they all needed to decide whether or not to jump into the wormhole. it feels like since he got kidnapped again, shiro’s been jumping into the commanding part of leading more than the cooperative part.

to be honest i can’t really remember what else they do in the season – i know there was emphasis put on shiro the hero in the drug episode, which strikes me as interesting, bc that’s. all shiro gets to be in this show. he spouts platitudes and during the difficult parts of battle shouts for everyone to try really hard without really saying…what that means. in contrast, when they’re panicking about the bomb and being trapped, lance tells allura ‘you should use your magic, i know you don’t know a lot about it but you’ve done it before, and i know you can because blue chose you for a reason and you’re the heart of this team.’ it was such a fantastic moment of what leadership should be like in the show.

and i don’t mean to rag on shiro – shiro was a good leader the first two seasons, even with his ‘hero’ persona and sort of lame battle encouragements. he listened to his team and gave them individual support (well. pidge and keith, at least.) but i can’t seem to get past him simultaneously “ordering” keith to do something he’s unhappy doing when shiro is meant to be the person keith is closest with. dismissing him out of hand, guilt-tripping him over theater shows – it rubbed me the wrong way. and then we discover that shiro CAN fly the black lion? all he had to do was listen to keith telling him he should try again? mmmk. i’m basically clinging to shiro is a clone bc otherwise shiro’s undergone a massive personality shift and clearly needs to talk some shit out.

I can’t decide if I hate or love Lotor after episode 6. One part of me knows that he could very easily fuck shit up, and the other part of me is ready to bow down to that bitch for saving Keith’s angsty ass.

Omg, Dreamer just gave her memory of her feelings for John to Clarice so now anything between them from here on out is gonna be fabricated from that, based on a lie, and its def gonna implode one day and blow up in their faces

Why is gaining weight so goddamn time consuming and expensive? Like as a college student I neither have time for that nor the funds to buy the sheer quantity of food I need…on one hand I want to do it for my health but goddamn, I’ve always been under the assumption that weight gain is easy and yet here I am…

I have a job interview tomorrow, please wish me luck. Give me some good vibes fam so I don’t embarrass myself in front of the interviewers D’:

yknow there’s something really insidious about people with #idontmind in their twitter handles like… not even passively going after lgbt youth, but like actively doing so? like you obviously don’t care about other people’s mental health if you get so upset about a non-canon wlw ship that you feel the need to berate minors on the internet who find comfort in said ship or the characters in it

i have some really great news to share.. as of today, my mom and i officially have a house we’re going to move into ! it’s gonna be my mom, her bf(?), and i; this place is a rlly good price-wise, so we’ll be able to save a lot of money (because this is just a stepping stone). now the bad news is that it’ll take us a month before they’re done remodeling it, but we’re driving over there to sign the paperwork.

i’m still going to keep commissions open, but i’m not in such a dire need anymore since we now have a place. thank you to everyone who has supported me this entire time. throughout all these blog remakes i’ve had to make, i’ve always been moving from place to place – and each and every household was toxic and unhealthy (physically and mentally). i feel like there’s a chance for me now, and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. without your guys’ endless support and kindness, i really don’t know where i’d be right now.

if there is anything i’m able to do to help anyone in need right now, know that i’m always here (even we’re not mutuals). you’re always welcome to message me, even if it may seem silly. i’m here if you need support ♡
