and if i could show them how to do it

anonymous asked:

Hi! Hope you are having a nice day. Love your blog. Also can we please have some soft!yoongi appreciation?

ofc i could talk about our tiny prince for hours!!

the way he shows affection subtly is so endearing. i think it’s v much his virgo moon, which is described perfectly here:
“they may complain about it, but as long as they feel appreciated they will do their best to not only take care of themselves, they’ll take care of you too”

“they will show how much they care in small, practical ways like putting away your laundry. open affection may cause them to pull back a bit, and they are often shy”

he’s so domestic too, honestly some of the best father material in bts, and i think it’s his cancer mars instinct. people call jin the “mom” of the group, when really yoongi dotes on them the most ;;

he’s a sensitive pisces boy who loves to hold hands and craves affection but is too shy to say it. pls b gentle to him

9/17/17 Show Notes (Closing Night)

okay… one last time, here we go! (again, apologies for the delay.)

-The line to get into the theatre was longer than ever. I guess that’s what closing night will do for you (it just frustrated me because that’s how the line should have been for the whole run, but I could go on about that forever so).

-My mother and I ended up sitting directly behind the Cotts (Corey’s parents, Carly, and Meg) and it was so fun to be able to see them watch the show. Nathan Johnson was also a couple seats away.

Act I:
-It was the first time I noticed Donny’s hand tremor (see: the scene before Right This Way, etc.) in the opening battle scene with Michael, meaning that it even precipitated Michael’s death. So that was a great realization which was totally fine and not at all painful.
-There were a ton of little moments that got applause, and it was absolutely clear that the cast appreciated it.
-Geoff always looks on the verge of actual tears right at the beginning of Breathe and it’s so incredible that I just have to finally mention it.
-I don’t know if it was an attempt to lighten the closing-night mood or what, but Corey was joking around onstage more than ever, and it was amazing.

-During the poem scene with Julia (“You’ll make fun of them!”/“I won’t. Trust me.”) which is normally super serious, he said “I won’t!” and then, before “Trust me,” grinned and jokingly went “Eh, maybe a little bit” with hand motions and everything.
-After the line “This song will get us to New York. Everything hangs on New York,” while Donny and Julia are discussing the possibility of changing the contest song, Corey put the sheet music in front of his face and began swaying his head around, which was adorable and made Laura grin.

-Love Will Come and Find Me Again got a standing ovation.
-Right This Way was just on another level. The guys onstage were crying, my mother and I were crying, all the Cotts were crying, you get the picture. Needless to say, it also got a standing ovation.

Intermission:
So during intermission, the woman sitting next to my mother struck up a conversation… it turns out that she was actively serving in the Navy, and basically every member of her family was either actively serving or was a veteran going back several generations. Additionally, a number of those family members apparently struggled with PTSD, so the show hit incredibly close to home for her. It was her third time seeing it, but nobody involved with the show knew about her, so even though it was closing night my mother went to go see if anybody was still at the box office that could make something happen. On her way, she ran into Andy Blankenbuehler (he had been watching from the audience with his wife and kids), and since he wasn’t mobbed she thanked him for the show and asked if he would like to meet the woman.

{Sidebar: As someone training to dance on Broadway, I have always had the utmost professional respect for Andy- I think he’s an absolutely brilliant choreographer and I love everything he’s ever done. Based on what I’ve seen of him I assumed he was kind, but I’d never witnessed him interact with anyone in person, so I couldn’t be sure. Now I can say with absolute confidence that Andy is one of the most genuine, caring people I have ever met in the industry, and I have complete respect for him as a person as well.}

He came over to talk to her, and, despite the fact that it was closing night and he was probably one of the most popular people in the room, he intently listened to her story and was moved to the brink of tears before pulling her in for a hug. It was clear how much the moment meant to him, and as he left he wholeheartedly thanked my mother for bringing him over.
It’s been almost a week, and I’m still struck by his compassion and sincerity.

Act II:
-Laura was audibly choked up on “Sing because you just need to sing” which was heartbreaking on so many levels.
-Corey and Laura were both so emotional during This Is Life.
-Oh my God the pen thing. So a couple people have already mentioned this, but it’s worth repeating… when Julia and Donny were signing the NBC forms Laura dropped the pen, so she and Mary did an “Oh! Sorry!/Excuse me!” thing, then Corey smiled and went “She’s nervous!” and Mary said something like “We all are!” It was hilarious.
-Welcome Home… yeah. They all made it through the song, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. I know for a fact there wasn’t a dry eye on stage. Also, when Corey went over to hug Laura he triumphantly raised his fist in the air, and the applause got even louder.
-It got the longest standing ovation by far. Like, it went on for so long that instead of the curtain coming down and the broadcast music beginning before the showgirls run onstage, Jonathan and the girls slowly crept onstage and then the curtain began to fall so that the show could continue, because the audience would not stop applauding.
-I cried most of the way through the finale (‘Epilogue’). It was just a lot.
-After the whole cast (including swings and understudies) had their bows, a couple more people involved with the show came onstage- the reason I’m mentioning this is because Alex was one of those people!!! I was so so happy because I had initially heard he was going to be there, but then that morning he was posting Instagram stories in Pennsylvania so I figured he wouldn’t be, and then he appeared! (and they included him in their pictures so my day was made and everything was right with the world.)
-ANDY’S SPEECH. It was the most amazingly perfect statement about the show that I’ve ever heard. I’m so glad that people recorded it so that everyone can hear it, because it was just phenomenal.
-After the speech, the cast stayed onstage for a long time.

-Joey immediately went across the stage to hug Alex, and I can imagine that their dynamic could have been complicated so I thought that that was heartwarming.
-Mark proposed to Jaime!!! Jaime was beyond excited and it was SO cute.

So… here we are! I’m not going to make an emotional heartfelt speech- I’ll save that for another post- but I’m so glad that people have enjoyed reading these, since I don’t really contribute to the fandom in any artistic/creative way. (And even though there won’t be any more show notes, I’ll still be active on here for the foreseeable future.)
-S ❤️

1, 4, 12, 17, 20, 25 (xxx being New Girl and Brooklyn 99!)

Thank you for asking, friend! :)

(Note: I’m also using himym in these because even though I don’t post about it on this blog, it’s one of my fav shows of all time and i have a LOT of salt about it. xx)

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

ted/robin from himym. i don’t understand how you could honestly watch past season 1 and still want them to end up together and i will never understand why the writers did that. like character development is important people!!!

and it’s not that i don’t “get” schmidt/cece from new girl, bc i do, but i wish the s3 cheating stuff didn’t happen because that makes it hard to ship.

and for b99 i gotta say i don’t really get rosa/pimento even though i like each of them and i like their interactions. they just don’t seem right for each other.

4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?

ted/robin for sure is my most hated NoTP. i guess they are popular, but i will never get it.

and for sure with new girl jess/robby and nick/reagan but i don’t think anyone really ships those…

i don’t think i really have a b99 NoTP?

12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

i honestly don’t mind the original reagan arc in new girl. i think it just went on way longer than it needed to and became ridiculous. i liked the initial jury duty part of it and getting nick to have some of those realizations, but then they dragged it on and made nick dumb!nick and it crumbles. but i was excited for MF to be on it in the beginning of s5.

in himym idk if it counts as an arc, but i like that the reason ted’s telling the story is because the mother died. i understand nothing else about the way they ended this show, but i like that part and i know a lot of people don’t.

are there unpopular arcs in b99? i mean i trust the writers implicitly and disagree with anyone who thinks they have ever made a mistake. i feel it’s been a flawless first 4 seasons.

17. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…

oh boy i have SO MANY OPINIONS ON THIS.

how i met your mother just needed to end like maybe 15 minutes before the end. barney and robin end up together and ted gets the fuck over it because that’s what the whole fucking show was supposed to be about. and barney doesn’t end up back as a womanizing jackass because, again, character development was so well done in this, but they ruined it in the end.

i have so many for new girl. mainly in s6. the entirety of the reagan and robby plots can basically gtfo. basically we only need reagan to get nick the book signing and then nick has to realize (without all the filler nonsense and being dumb!nick) that he’s in love with jess and then the nick/jess kiss that ends the season would be earlier and we would have ended s6 with a proposal instead of a 30 second kiss. (and a bunch of others but i’ll keep it at that for now).

himym instead of the last like 15 minutes happening, i would have just left that part out.

20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?

(this one doesn’t really fit with salt, but i’ll take it).

b99: jake and amy are perfect and pure

himym: lily and marshall obviously

and new girl… idk if it has a “purest” ship. (don’t come for me! i just don’t even think nick/jess are a pure ship and certainly no one else falls into that category either)

25. How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX?

new girl needs to end with nick and jess’s newborn baby girl being the NEW girl or i’ll cry.

b99 needs to never end so… ?

but at least it has to end with jake and amy being happy and together and safe (not one of them in witsec or jail or undercover or… anything else). and the nine nine goes off to all diff things and reaches all their goals, but they all stay family and vacation together or something. idk i’m not a writer lol

ten dialogue prompts - 05

“My feelings for you are like the colors of the night sky, blinding, beautiful, and seemingly endless.”

“I’ve fallen for you in hundreds of ways.”

“I can’t tell them I’m writing the love notes, they’ll kill me!”

“Don’t ever let someone tell you that love is boring or not worth it. If they do, tell me and I’ll kick some ass.”

“I didn’t mean to fall in love with them, it kind of just happened.”

“I’m still me and I’m still in love with them. There’s nothing that they could do to change that.”

“I’m not good with my words, so I’ll show you how I feel with my actions.”

“Come here and kiss me before I walk out of this place forever.”

“Do it, I know you’re scared. But take a chance, I’m begging you. You don’t want to spend the rest of your life wondering what could have been. Just kiss me, you’ll see what happens.”

“I’ll be yours until all the stars fall out of the sky.”

Do you know of any tutorials that show you how to make stim boards?

People have asked me before, but I don’t think I’ve seen any actual tutorials or anything? :O It’s not really as complicated as it looks, at the basic level all you do is just find 9 gifs or pictures based around a certain theme, arrange them in a 3x3 format when uploading them to tumblr, and then link the credits somehow! I guess I could do a more detailed tutorial though? I’ll put it under a cut!

This is just how I do it personally, beyond the basic mechanics of how to upload gifs/pictures there’s no right or wrong way to make stimboards! Let me know if you need a visual tutorial rather than a text-based one and I can try to add gifs maybe?? Idk how that would turn out but I could try ^^;;

So, some WA fans are upset about this crossover wedding since the story is about Nazis or something. Do you think we should be concerned about the handling of this wedding?

I am not concerned about the handling of the wedding itself, but the Earth X story has been an issue since the Ray series was announced, so I think there’s plenty of reason to be worried or upset that they’re doing it at all.

It’s already written and happening, so I guess just be clear about your concerns when addressing CW, DC and the show runners. Or just straight up tell them it’s wrong and disturbing to promote this idea that our beloved heroes could be Nazis under other circumstances.

I want to hope it’ll turn out better than we’re all anticipating, but I don’t know how. And again, I’m referring specifically to the Earth X part. I don’t think the WA wedding scenes will be an issue, and iris herself may never even be involved in that aspect outside from villains crashing her wedding and her giving orders from STAR Labs. So if you want to skip the crossover, I bet people will put up her scenes on YT or Vimeo. (But if you are skipping, you should still let the CW know why and what’s wrong with the storyline.)

LGBT representation in the media
  • My mother: (homophobically) Are there any shows these days that don't have gay people in it?
  • Me: Biting my tongue back because I could go into a whole rant about how underrepresented the LGBT community is in television and how when we ARE represented it's either stereotypical Gay Best Friends, or good looking, cis, gay white boys. I could tell her that all of it is usually blatant gross fan service and Hollywood throwing the dog a bone, and I could tell her that The Straights are freaking EVERYWHERE and since we've all been doomed to watch them fall into sappy repetitive overly dramatic cliched insta love over and over again in every.movie.and.tv.show.ever the least she could do is not be homophobic while the boyfriends in this show get their 30 seconds worth of allotted screen time (that was only given, in the first place, because Hollywood feel like they have no other choice but to be 'politically correct')
  • So I need backup here to show her.
  • Can you all PLEASE like and reblog the shit out of this post if you agree that the LGBT community on a whole is grossly mistreated and actually, contrary to what she may think, very underrepresented in the media.
  • -------
  • Edit:
  • It has been brought to my attention that I shouldn't use shipping tags on posts like these. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused by that. It won't happen again! 😊
  • For an explination, though, the reason I tagged ships on this is because I figured you all would understand/relate to what I was trying to say.

“I am Moana of Motunui. Aboard my boat, I will sail across the sea and restore the heart of Te Fiti.” -Moana (2016)

“I am Diana of Themyscira, daughter of Hippolyta. Your wrath upon this world is over.” -Wonder Woman (2017)

Female leads are so important.

I just want to take a moment and appreciate these two women in their movies. They are strong, courageous, defiant, and independent. When I first saw Moana, I cried about seven times. It was so refreshing to see a character that didn’t need to rely on anyone else to save the day besides themselves. And recently, when I watched Wonder Woman, I got emotional all over again because I noticed similar parallels between Diana and Moana.

They both are introduced in their youth. Moana wants to be out on the ocean, and Diana wants to train to be an Amazon warrior. But they have their parents that set them on different paths. Moana’s parents want her to be the chief, and Hippolyta doesn’t want Diana to train so that she can be protected. Upon reaching older age, both Moana and Diana set out on journey’s that they know they must embark on. Diana leaves Themyscira with Steve to defeat Ares and end the raging world war. Moana leaves Motunui to find Maui and restore the heart of Te Fiti to save her people and her island. Both women are so determined to complete what they set out to do, and when it comes a time for them to do it on their own, they completely kick ass. Even when they are set back by obstacles, they keep pushing on. They both defeat a god, (respectively to each cultures mythology). And in the end, they both understand that love is what can save the world. Diana learned that in her endeavors, and it was love that Moana showed that restored Te Ka into Te Fiti.

There is so much to love about these two, and I could go on about how many parallels there are. I really adore and appreciate these strong female icons. Both movies are definitely my top favorites of all time.

anonymous asked:

Hello! How would you write a dialogue in which a character is freaking out about something? I generally have them word vomit but I don't really like that style. If its too much could you show me an example as well?

Hi!

You could definitely word vomit – especially if your character is hysterical – but that’s not the only way to do it by any means. I know a few other ways.

1. Calmly.
This is strange, considering your character is freaking out, but the freak-out is internal – they’re shutting themselves off due to shock. In this case, they would be quiet, sane, and even if what they’re saying is illogical, it would probably sound reasonable.

“I was right there when she shot him. He dropped like a sack of flour. I figured he was gone as soon as the bullet hit his chest. So now I’ve decided I’m gonna go after her. Right now. And I’m gonna kill her.”
“What? You can’t do that!”
“Sure I can. She killed him, so I kill her. It’s called justice.”
“But- With just your bare hands?”
“The way I feel right now, my bare hands are more than enough.”

Notice how the character who just watched their friend die in front of them isn’t yelling, isn’t stuttering, isn’t getting angry or crying – they’re perfectly calm, almost to the point of complete emotional shutdown.

2. Angrily.
Some people get angry when they lose control and freak out – it scares them, and the fear manifests itself as anger. This type particularly happens when they’re upset about something and other characters aren’t taking it seriously or are shrugging off their concerns.

“No! It’s happening tonight! We don’t have time to think, or weigh things, we need to fucking leave! Now!”
“We can’t. You know that, and you’d remember that, if you were thinking straight-”
“I am thinking straight! It’s you who’s fucked in the head. I don’t give a damn what you think we can and can’t do, we need to clear out of here, right this second.”

As you can see, this character is freaking out – their concerns may or may not have a firm foundation, but obviously they are concerned, and that concern is manifesting itself as fury.

3. By stuttering.
For some people, it’s hard to talk when they panic, because their minds race forward ahead of their mouths and they get tongue-tied. I typically see/use this with more anxious characters, or with characters who aren’t typically good at speaking anyways (in other words, who are uncomfortable talking).

There are a couple of different ways to stutter:
a. Repeat the beginning of each word.

“I tr-tried to s-save him, but he wuh-wouldn’t l-let me … he knew it was g-going to happen. It’s my f-fault!”

(However, keep in mind that this kind of stuttering is more as if your character is crying and trying to talk through sobs and hiccups. Please use it sparingly – it can get old fast.)

b. Repeat words.

“No. No, I don’t know what’s going on, Ricky. Ricky, why would I have any idea? Don’t fucking look at me like that, Ricky. Don’t look at me like I’m lying.”

c. Insert filler sounds: “ah”, “uh”, “um”, and/or curse words.

“I, uh, I- fuck. I, ummm, I think maybe, ah, maybe we should leave?”

For more on stuttering – it can be hard to peg correctly – check out this post.

I hope this helps! If you need anything else, please feel free to ask. - @authors-haven

A/N: Thank you to all those who followed me and read my first fic!  I’m thinking of doing a part two to this one, so if you like it, let me know!

Your fire escape had always been your favourite part of your apartment.  Situated outside your bedroom window, you had spent countless hours of your life lounging on the metal steps, reading a book or catching up on some homework.  Last summer, you had wound a string of fairy lights around the rails, which were coated in shiny dark paint.  Your landlady had protested at first but, after you proved that they weren’t endangering the use of the fire escape in any way, she had let you keep them.  The small victory had brought a smile to your face, and now your escape was even cozier than before, and was still just as cozy a year later.  This year’s summer brought scorching heat and clear nights, and you spent most of your free time out on your escape, trying to catch a breeze.

You sat on your fire escape now, wearing a lightweight hoodie and pajama shorts, doodling in a journal.  School was out for the week and tomorrow didn’t require a six am wake up call, leaving you free to stay up late and admire the Queens skyline at night.  It was nights like these that you loved the most; nights that seemed like they were pulled straight from a movie scene, with stars that glimmered like flames, a full moon bigger than you had ever seen before, and the sounds of the city mixing in with the quiet melodies that drifted out of the speakers propped up on your window sill.  You would be content for the rest of your life if you could keep moments like these forever.

The stage door is a privilege.

When I was in NYC last month I had the amazing opportunity to see Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen. I knew it would be a good show, I knew his performance would be incredible. And it was an absolutely stunning experience to watch him bare his entire soul on stage. I left in a daze, thinking about how emotionally draining doing that EIGHT times a week must be. It was a matinee on a two show and not a single member of the cast came out the stage door. I didn’t blame them at all—it was the fourth show in a five show weekend.

I was lucky enough to catch him after the show that night. I could tell he was exhausted, visibly run down, and he was also on vocal rest so he couldn’t even speak. But he still made his way through the crowd of people, signing programs, offering shy smiles.

I got there early enough to be at the very front and let me just say… the fans were out of control. There was pushing and yelling and screaming and I felt a little overwhelmed by the attention of it all, especially when Ben came out the stage door. Everyone was pushing on the metal grate so hard that it was dragging forward. Of course everyone was excited that he came out, but I just made sure to just thank him over and over again for coming out to say hello, something he definitely did not have to do, especially when he has to take care of himself. That should be his priority.

Then today, this is what he tweeted.

Which was a very kind and patient response to something that’s become a huge issue in the theater community, and that’s the sense of entitlement from fans for an actor’s time after the show.

This may have been the tweet in question, I’m not sure. Either way, this is the entitled attitude that’s going to ruin the stage door for everyone if people can’t get their act together. Don’t mob actors at the stage door. The stage door is an incredibly unique experience, it’s a chance to connect with artists who give 110% every night. What they do is rewarding yes, but it’s also exhausting! Eight shows a week, you guys, that’s not easy.

It breaks my heart that people have been giving Ben crap about not coming to the stage door. To be honest, after my experience at the DEH stage door, I wouldn’t blame him if he NEVER came out after the show. It really has turned into a madhouse, especially with the popularity and fandom of the show. So please, please, PLEASE remember to respect the actors! And I’ll repeat it again.

The stage door is a PRIVILEGE, not a right, and it’s a privilege that’s going to be taken away if we in the theater community don’t hold people responsible for respecting that, and respecting the actors who share their time and their talent with us.

KURO WEEK - DAY 5: Nightmares

Eeeh… so this is kinda long. But I loved writing it. Also: it’s from Shiro’s POV. So… have this:

Monsters don’t have nightmares…

It took everything in him not to scream. He wouldn’t give them the satisfaction. Wouldn’t let them know how afraid he really was.

No…

He had survived this once… He would do it again. Because now he knew how the cruel machinery of the arena worked, relentless and precise like clockwork. He knew what the Druids would do to him. He knew the rules.

Stick to the rules and survive.

And rule number one was to never show your fear.

Shiro could do this, he would survive and find his way back home. Home… wherever that was. A small, fragile smile crept onto his face. Of course he knew where home was. It was somewhere among the stars… Sitting in a giant robot lion and hunting every single Galra cruiser down in order to find him. He would survive this… for now there was Keith, burning with the force of a thousand suns, fiery red and blazing with anger. He had seen glimpses of what the Red Paladin was capable of… This man would tear the universe apart and burn the whole Empire to ashes, if that’s what it took to get Shiro back.

For now he would stick to the rules and buy his friends as much time as possible to come and find him. Him and-

Movement from the shadows caught his attention, followed by a soft sob. If it hadn’t been so eerily quiet in their cell, he might’ve missed it. Shiro froze at the sound, eyes trained on the the figure that laid curled up on one of the cots.

The first time he’d seen him, Shiro had actually lost it. He still had no idea where he came from – it didn’t really matter anyway. Because he was there nonetheless. He existed. He breathed. There was a soul in his yellow eyes, when he gave Shiro that look. That look of utter betrayal, like he’d hoped for something more, something that was definitely not a beaten and bruised Shiro.

He couldn’t really remember when or how the guards had maneuvered him into the same cell he occupied. At some point he’d simply checked out, mind going blank and numb, because it was all too much.

The Druids had taken his arm, stripped him off any right he thought he had, put him through fights against aliens twice his size… but THIS. This had been the last straw.

It was the day he met his clone, that Shiro actually cried for the first time in ages. He cried for himself. It was the same day he realized, that this would never end. They’d always find a way to break him, to bend and twist him, until his mind turned into something ugly. The evidence, the actual personification of their madness driven efforts, sat right in front of him and stared at him with piercing yellow eyes.

He had no idea how long they’d stayed like this. Huddled against opposite walls of the same cell and staring off into nothingness, until one of them had started talking. It had been awkward, looking at his own face and listening to his own voice, somewhat sounding off. More guttural. Some words even sounded a little…purred? It was almost off-putting to see his own face staring back at him and moving with expressions that weren’t his. It felt like watching yourself in a mirror, but your reflection suddenly stops moving along with you. Familiar features turned into something otherworldly, because someone else controlled them and poured their very soul into every twitch and pull of muscle.

They’d created a whole new being. The clone might’ve looked like Shiro, but under their shared features, there was a different person. Individual. Original. And so, so human. He even had a name.

Kuro.

How fitting, Shiro had thought at first. But he’d come to realize quite fast, that Kuro wasn’t the dark, evil minded counterpart he’d expected to hide behind that name.

In fact, the more they talked, the more Shiro got the impression, that their Galra-hybrid was more human than most people Shiro had met back on earth.

He had suffered. He had seen horrible things, survived even worse. He’d been ripped open and put back together, just to be torn apart again. Some days he would find the strengh to laugh at all of this… And some days he would break under the pressure and fear. Like any human being would do.

Days had passed. It was easy - too easy - to believe that Kuro was anything but a monster. Especially so, after he’d been carried back into their cell, right after one particular hard fight. Kuro had won, of course… But was the damage his body and mind had taken really worth it?

Seeing him like this morphed repulsion and mistrust first into pity, then into something else. Something Shiro didn’t really want to think about. It felt way too close to compassion.

He couldn’t let that happen.

Stick to the rules and survive.

And sticking to the rules meant no sympathy for Galra-clones.

In the end the universe wouldn’t have any of it.

Another sob brought him back to reality. It tore through the silence that hung between them. As far as he could tell, Kuro was still asleep on his small cot, but he thrashed wildly against invisible enemies and restraints. Maybe he relived his latest fight? His latest torture? Tears glistened in the dim purple lights.

In this moment he looked almost completely human… Vulnerable and scared and just so much younger.

Shiros throat went dry. Kuro wasn’t a monster… never had been… And that tore at his heart.

Despite what the Druids wanted him to be, Kuro was anything but a monster.

Without thinking, Shiro stood up from where he sat, back against the wall, and silently made his way towards the clone. Said clone was a mess; twitching and and clawing at the nightmares that plagued him.

Another whimper. Small and heartbreaking. He couldn’t take it.

Shiro couldn’t stop himself from reaching out, trying to soothe Kuro with a warm hand on his shoulder. But it wasn’t enough to make the nightmares stop…

Fuck the rules.

Soon he found himself huddled up on the small cot next to the other man, arms wrapped around shaking shoulders and metal fingers stroking carefully over a tense back. There were scars on his back. So. So many… Shiro didn’t even want to know what had caused these scars. Or the nightmares.

This man was definitely no monster.

Because monsters

didn’t have nightmares…

___

“Again? Didn’t we already talk about this?” your mother scolded with a sigh, as you two entered your small apartment.

She had gotten a call from work at the rehab centre, that you had gotten into another fight with the kids at your school. And this became an alarming concern to her since this was the third time this month that you had fought with others.

“I didn’t mean too…” the nine-year-old you sniffled, as you shyed away from your mother’s harsh glare.

“Y/n this is the third time this month that your school has called me!” your mother exclaimed tiredly from the kitchen, getting ready to prepare dinner for the two of you.

“I’m sorry,” you whispered from your spot on the sofa, trying to withhold your tears. You knew your mother hated when you got into fights – you didn’t even like it either, but the kids always picked on you. You just wanted them to stop…

“You said you were sorry last time.”

“I know…” you mumbled in reply.

“Then why do you keep fighting?” she frustrated. “No matter what those kids say, you don’t put your hands on them.”

“But they wouldn’t stop!”

“Then tell the teacher-”

“They hit me first,” you interrupted. This caused your mother to pause in the middle of her footsteps.

“Why?” she asked in confusion.

“They just wouldn’t stop saying those horrible things, even though I begged them…”  you said as your tears started to fall.

What are the main ereri moments in the uprising arc?

Oh boy, lemme show you! People have probably already compiled these scenes but I’mma do it again, because I can’t sleep anyway.

First, there’s little things like Eren cleaning up the new HQ, trying to make sure everything is perfect for his husband’s Levi’s arrival:

Eren is the only one bothered by Levi’s disappointment because he is still learning just how high his husband’s Corporal’s standards are. How could he possibly forget to clean… the… underside of the table…?

And here’s the two of them sitting next to each other at dinner (which makes us all ask the question, where the hell is Eren’s hand?)

Levi sitting on Eren’s bed while he’s recovering because he cares:

Then there’s the scene when they go to save Eren and he calls out for his man Levi specifically before the rest of them…

And Levi looking over at Eren with love in his eyes and apologizing for the fact that he’s always the one left with difficult choices:

And then after they’re all saved, Levi tells him “you really look good without a shirt terrible” (which, we all know, in Levi-talk actually means “I’m glad you’re okay”)

Then there’s that funny little scene where Eren calls Rod Reiss a midget and Levi side-eyes him hard as Eren realizes his poor choice of words:

And then, of course, this beautiful scene where Levi gives Eren his handkerchief to clean up his nosebleed after too much titan training:

Watching him closely with blatant love and affection:

I think that’s all of them… Idk about you, but I’m excited as hell to see these scenes animated :D

Types as People I know IRL

ENFJ: Is one of the nicest person I know, seems to make friends every time she’s in a public place. Has a really hard time saying no to people asking favors to her. Cries a lot, especially when watching animal videos and TV competition shows auditions (golden buzzer moments especially).

ESFJ: Has a creepy way of knowing when you’re not feeling well. Always has comforting words of wisdom. Has very strong belief in their values. She’s the person I go to when I need honest opinion about a subject of just to get some infinite love. Cries a lot too, especially when with ENFJ.

ENFP: Is VERY emotional, can go from butterflies and rainbows to torture chambers and fire pits real fast. Amazing sense of fashion, goes through phases (only wears black, only wears pastel, only shops at thrift stores). Is never at the center of conflict and can always find a way to mend broken bonds. Very intelligent but can make some non-intelligent spontaneous decisions. Acts as though they don’t care what people think but they’re probably the most self-conscious people I know (except for maybe ISFP).

ESFP: Can’t stand doing nothing for more than 5 minutes, has more energy than a 3 year old. Is really fun to argue with but don’t kid yourself, you’ll never win the argument (or you’ll know you’re right but they’ll never acknowledge that). Likes the outdoors and wants to live on a farm later in life.

ENTJ: If incredibly smart but even more hard headed. Cares a lot about people but cares more about their success. Was in all the clubs at school and for good reasons, they’re extraordinary leaders. Has no patience for stupid people or bullshit.

ESTJ: Has a very dark sense of humor and I LOVE it. Has a very astonishing way of always getting what they want. Looks like an introvert until they are seen in a crowd. Would be the person I would want with me during an apocalypse.

ENTP: The comebacks that come out of their mouths are amazing. Could never be bored around them since they’ll find a dark and twisty subject to talk about. Will argue as much as ESFP but will usually be more right and sometimes even admit when they’re wrong. I’ve never seen someone party like an ENTP. Secretly hates people but can’t live without constant interaction with them.

ESTP: I don’t know any ESTPs, guys where are you?

INFJ: You can do nothing with this person, for like 4 hours and feel like you just had a super deep conversation, baked cookies and climbed Mount Everest. Doesn’t talk a lot but when he does it is always the truth. Nobody dislikes INFJ, how could you he’s like that one flower growing in a field of rocks.

ISFJ: Loves books, is afraid of doing extreme sports and things that could be dangerous. Has so much imagination and lives to help others. I have never seen them angry.

INFP: Takes everything so personally, I’m always afraid to say a joke around them. Doesn’t do much, binge watches a lot of Netflix shows and loves politics.

ISFP: They never tell you how they’re really feeling but it doesn’t matter, you can read them like a book. Are very self conscious and seek attention from people. They’re so generous and kind but it’s hard to give back to them. Loves classic rock and old video games, is addicted to sports.

INTJ: I WANT AN INTJ FRIEND SO BAD. I’m pretty sure my chemistry class teacher’s assistant was INTJ but didn’t have the nerve to ask him, he was very passionate about science, over population and the statistic of the online dating world.

ISTJ: Can’t find any of you guys either, sorry…

INTP: YOU GUYS ARE EVERYTHING. I only know one INTP. Right now he’s either on wikipedia, watching educational videos on Youtube or playing some indie video game. INTP looks very socially awkward but is one of the kindest soul I’ve ever met. Talks to me about subjects I know nothing about (politics, economics…) in a way that makes me interested. Plus their vibes are super sexy.

ISTP: Where is your secret hideout, where are you guys hiding?

Warning: These are based on people I know in my life and I don’t expect them to represent everyone who are those types. If you are ESTP, ISTJ or ISTP I’m sorry, from one MBTI addict to another you don’t know how badly I want to meet one of you guys.

Do you still believe in jonsa? :( I really want them to be together :( I want to believe jon is playing daenerys i can't just accept he would bend the knee easily!

Hi sweet anon,

I do still believe in Jonsa. I’ll always believe in it, until the last ASOIAF book comes out to prove me wrong.

Jon and Sansa’s relations have been set up and written to be romantic – both in the show and in the book in my opinion. Not for a one-night stand, not for sexual tension, not for political marriage; but for finding comfort in each other, safety, trust, peace, love and family, something that nobody else in the World could give them. All they long for is the North, the Starks, their family and their home, and who could understand that better than they do themselves? Who else could understand their pain?

Let’s look back:

They had the most emotional reunion out of all characters on the show. None of the men in castle black have looked at them and thought they were siblings. They all must’ve thought they were long-lost lovers.

The stare™ and the cheesy smile:

When was the last time Jon or Sansa laughed like this? Who else makes them happy like this?

LOOK AT THIS!!!! For god’s sake if my sibling looked at me like this I would’ve called the police by now

Now, the letter from Ramsay. Look at how he looks as Sansa to check up on her before reading the letter.

When it got to the r*pe bit, Jon threw it away and looked away in anger.

When Sansa carries on reading, look at his face. Look how gently he lookes at her.

He loves her.

Now, for the fur-coat scene. This is important - Sansa tells Jon “You are a Stark” without really saying anything.

For god’s sake look at him

Then the heated argument in the tent. (can you imagine if this was Jon with another specific character arguing in a dark tent while breathing heavily? the internet would go crazy) Jon was really trying to be angry here, but couldn’t. He still looks at her like this:

“I won’t EVER let him touch you again. I’ll protect you I promise”.

We all know Jon’s reaction to Ramsay mentioning Sansa in his bed *kill bill sirens* Have you ever seen Jon being so protective over anyone like that before?

I also found interesting how Jon found and was looking at Sansa when the Vale’s army marched in:

After the battle, Sansa was the only reason he didn’t beat Ramsay to death.

And then the forehead kiss.

This is not a brother showing affection to his sister. This is something else. This is far too loving, far too intimate, far too long.

And then another stare.

Then, she makes him laugh once again, like nobody else does.

And she finally looks happy.

And when Jon becomes the King in the North, he looks at her.

Continuing into season 7, we’ve got this gem, where Littlefinger says he loves Sansa and Jon gives us one of his angriest moments in the show:

He entrusts Sansa with his kingdom and his people

and he tenderly looks back to look at her one last time before he sets off

And lastly, the thought of her is the only thing that stops him from killing Theon.

I know this got long, sorry, but there are so many little moments, touches and looks that are so important. We know they’ve been rushing the show, they’ve been rushing J0nerys, but they haven’t rushed this. Why? Why haven’t they rushed Jon and Sansa and concentrated on them building trust for each other? Their affection for each other?

Because, dear anon, I believe that Jon and Sansa will end up together. And you should too!

To the people who are upset about the Wanna One final line up and are calling the top 11 talentless,

How? How can you say that? None of the top 11 are talentless. All of them deserve to be there. The issue was that there were only 11 spots and 20 amazing, talented boys who deserved those spots. In fact, all 101 of the trainees are talented. I could go on and on about how talented each and every member of that show is, but I’ll just talk to you about the top 20.

TR;DL: It wasn’t anyone’s fault but Mnet’s. DO NOT BLAME ANY OF THE FINAL WANNA ONE MEMBERS. IF you wanna be mad, BLAME MNET.

Rank 20 - Choi Minki - Nu’EST’s Ren - Ahh Ren, he was very good at everything. Maybe not the best in any regard but definitely an all rounder. Singing. Dancing. Variety. Visuals. All check. The issue with him gettng this rank however was that Mnet’s edits didn’t give him much screen time (this is the case with many of the following on this list).

Rank 19 - Joo Haknyeon - He is talented. Despite needing some help, this boy is talented. He just learns slower than the other trainees and was greedy for positions he wasn’t ready to take on. He got way too much uncalled for hate because of it. I want to see him make a comeback one day as a stronger, wiser person.

Rank 18 - Kim Samuel - I shouldn’t have to say this but Samuel choreographed a lot of the dances they did for P101- hell he choreographed the Super Hot stage (baby is only 15 TwT). He kicked ass as center in Showtime! He was also good in Get Ugly! But Mnet didn’t give him that many behind the scenes cuts so I think that might have hurt him. He truly deserved so much better and I am going to support his solo. Hopefully, one day, he’ll debut in a group.

Rank 17 - Yoo Seonho - He’s got cute maknae charms and improved so much throughout the show. He’s only been a trainee for 6 months and despite that he grew a lot in a matter of months. I’m so proud of you, Seonho. Thank you for comforting all the people who needed it at the finale. You are an absolute angel who deserved to debut as well.

Rank 16 - Anh Hyungseob - Hyungseob is a good dancer and despite not being the best singer he tries very hard. He’s also hilarious XD (fondly remembers the times he ran into a door) He’s also got variety skills. *cough* His rank is probably low cause the Yuehua boys are planning to debut soon *cough*

Rank 15 - Im Youngmin - Great dancer. Great rapper. I don’t need to say anything. Just watch any of his performances and you’ll see. He got fucked over by his fake scandals and because knetz eat people alive without knowing if the rumor is true or not.

Rank 14 - Kim Jonghyun - Nu’EST’s JR - Amazing leader, who is selfless and always a sweetheart. He could have asked for center. He could have been greedy and asked for more lines. He never once did. On top of that, he’s a great rapper and a great dancer. Plus he a cute shy Wartortle. I have no clue how someone who was hailed the Nation’s Leader didn’t make it into the Nation’s Boy Group.

Rank 13 - Kang Dongho - Nu’EST’s Baekho - He had vocals for days and visuals for days. His charisma was like fire and his personality is so <3 He was the cute babysitter for all the kids of P101 and I’m honestly so sad Guanlin lost his fav sexy uncle.

Rank 12 - Jung Sewoon - Okay, look I love Ponyo . I love him so damn much you don’t even know. I was depressed when I saw him not get in. I can’t put into words how much I wanted him to be in the top 11. I thought he wouldn’t be close to 11 because he was 19 last time, but damn I feel trolled about this. VOCALS. DANCING. CUTENESS. I want to see him again in the future so badly.

Rank 11- Ha Sungwoon - HOTSHOT’s Sungwoon - It’s probably not right for me to say I didn’t want him in the top 11 because he needs to return to HOTSHOT so they can finally have a comeback. But he was Rank A from the start. Even Boa was like how are such talented kids not popular.

Rank 10 - Bae Jinyoung - A lot of you seem to have an issue with BaeJin. But he’s got stage presences. He might not have shown it off at the start but he improved so much since then. Plus he has a great personality which you can see in any of the back stage cams since the actual show cuts his and Jihoon’s screen time.

Rank 9 - Hwang Minhyun - Nu’EST Minhyun- Don’t fucking sit here and tell me Jonghyun deserves to debut but then go off and say the top 11 aren’t talented when Minhyun is fucking in the top 11. Emperor Hwang has everything. Visuals, vocals, dance skills, and the relationship with the rest of the top 11. He made half this top 11 happen. So much talent you can’t even.

Rank 8 - Yoon Jisung-  Auntie Jisung was gonna give up if he didn’t debut. He has stable af vocals while dancing. Plus he’s hilarious. Like really fucking funny. That’s been evident since he made himself a meme in episode 1. He took care of whatever team he led. I’m so so glad he got to debut.

Rank 7 - Lai Guanlin - I personally didn’t want him to debut because I think he’s too young and still has a lot of growing to do. He wasn’t the best rapper or dancer but he’s got stage presence not only that but he was also only a trainee for 6 months. He’s only been in Korea for 6 months. Plus he’s like 16 so chill.

Rank 6 - Park Woojin - I will flip tables if you tell me Park Woojin didn’t deserve top 11. He had shingles and still gave a bomb performance. He’s a great dancer and always draws attention when he’s on stage. He’s a great rapper too. He’s been Rank A from the start (BNM kids are so talented guys).

Rank 5 - Ong Seongwoo - Talented. So fucking talented. I can’t. He’s funny af, he’s an amazing dancer, he’s a god singer, he’s got a great personality, AND he’s got actor like visuals. Seriously, how can you call him untalented? Again he was rank A from the start.

Rank 4 - Kim Jaehwan - If you have hearing, you know Jaehwan is talented. He improved his dancing so much to be here. Plus he’s savage and hilarious. Kim Jaehwan was actually someone I was worried wouldn’t enter top 11 because he didn’t have a strong solo fanbase.

Rank 3 - Lee Daehwi - This child did not suffer to have you call him untalented. He’s an adorable baby who can do it all. He is only 16 and he writes songs for crying out loud! He can dance and sing and maybe rap (I think). He was also Rank A from the start! (All the BNM kids are talented af so never fucking say he’s talentless)

Rank 2 - Park Jihoon - Got here because he winked BUT that doesn’t mean he’s not talented. He’s a good dancer like a really good dancer, And he knows how to work a camera, clearly. He’s not the best singer but he tries. He’s an okay rapper but we never got to see much of that. Jihoon is adorable and cute and a whole lot of goot things but people kept bashing him for getting to the top because he winked. He’s still talented though (Rank B isn’t that bad cause Jaehwan was Rank B).

Rank 1 - Kang Daniel - I will not take anyone calling him untalented. Seriously there are too many people saying he didn’t deserve it. Have you watched ANY of his stages. He ALWAYS stole the show and he’s NEVER been center. Look, people forgot he was a rapper because he sang so much on this show. Like he gave all the rap parts to other rappers because he knew they couldn’t sing. He’s an angel who loves cats and people. He’s also awkwardly hilarious. He was bound to be in the top 11 from the moment he hugged small Woojin. Worked hard and moved from Rank B to Rank A. Watch any of his fancams and prepare to be shook.

If you’ve made it this far, I applaud you.

Wanna One is talented.

Everyone in the top 20 was talented.

I wish they made a group with the top 20 because I loved so many of them.

Although Harry had been disappointed to not receive your personal phone number, he still called “Megan” the next day to set up an appointment to see you. The earliest you can see him for a consulting appointment is in two weeks, and when Megan breaks the news to him, he nearly chokes on his morning tea.

Two weeks?

There wasn’t a logical way to see you sooner. There wasn’t a way to spin it in order for him to pop into your shop, especially considering he still had to sign the final papers to make the house his. How could he explain to you that he hadn’t quite sealed the deal yet, so you’d be decorating a completely hypothetical space? He’d already felt like an idiot in front of you, getting caught snooping around your bookshelves, and he wasn’t too keen on feeling like that around you anytime soon.

So, he waits.

He busies himself with packing up the items he knew he wouldn’t need: small, decorative sculptures, a majority of his books, the picture frames that littered nearly every spare surface of his home, his summer clothing that he knew would be completely unnecessary for at least five more months. Once he gets news that the final papers are ready to sign and the house is his, he cleans every nook and cranny of his current house, figuring it might as well be good to spruce it up for the new owners. He meets old friends for lunch, he takes his mother out for dinner, and he begs his sister to come over for a movie night.

And, of course, he reads. He reads the book you spoke so highly of, immersing himself within the worlds of each character, wondering which one you connected with most. Did you cry at the same parts he did? Did you have the same pit in your stomach that he experienced whenever the subject matter turned particularly dark? He needed to know what happened next, reading late into the night, promising himself he would go to bed after he finished the page he was on, but knowing he wouldn’t stop until he could no longer open his eyes.

The two weeks pass, but they feel more like a month and a half than they do a fortnight.

When the day of the meeting comes around, he peeks into the storefront, smiling at your name on the door. He meanders around your shop after checking in with Megan. She nods when he states his presence - a meek little thing with big brown eyes and a nervous giggle - and notifies you that “Mr. Styles is here,” via the bulky black telephone on her desk. He can feel the girl’s eyes on him as he walks around, recognizing some of the pieces from your website.

“Hi!” your voice echoes from behind him, your heels clicking against the concrete floor.

Harry turns around, fully expecting a normal salutation to escape his lips, but instead, his voice catches in his throat. You’re wholly professional, the version of yourself he saw in the magazine shoots. Cropped black pants with pointed-toe heels, a blazer rolled up to your elbows.

You look like you run the place - which, of course you do.

“How are you?” you ask before kissing his cheek and bringing him in for a hug.

That’s a bit better, he thinks to himself, remembering how previously, you’d greeted Nick more lovingly than you had Harry.

“Good, good,” he takes a step back from you, hoping your perfume had transferred onto him so he could smell you on him later - so he could pretend that reality wasn’t against him and that your scent was stuck to him for reasons other than a professional greeting. “Yourself?”

“Excited!” you clap your hands together. “Before we go back, let’s walk around a bit so you can get a sense of where I’m coming from, design-wise.”

He nods, pretending not to have already extensively researched “where you’re coming from,” and follows you until you stop in front of the mock room setups, pointing out some of your favorite pieces.

“Marble is really in,” you explain, tapping a stone coffee table. “But I try not to overdo it. If you like the look of marble - if you like this exact table, even - this would be the only marble piece I’d choose for whatever room.”

Taking his chin between his thumb and forefinger, Harry nods, inspecting the table and picturing it in his new living room. He likes it. Come to think of it, he liked everything. And it wasn’t just to appease you - there was no reason to like a chair just because you liked it - but he could envision nearly every piece in his new home.

“Just got these lamps in,” you turn one on. “I’m obsessed with them. Might snag them for myself,” you smile, clicking the remaining lamp on.

“How often does that ‘appen?” Harry smirks, raising an eyebrow.

“More often than it should,” you laugh. “I’m on this kick of deep greens, navy blue, and gold. Realize it’s not everyone’s cuppa tea, but if you see anything you like, there will almost always be different colors available,” you fluff a throw pillow, adjusting its position next to another.

Harry nods, imagining what his new place would look like decorated with a darker color scheme. He’d never been one for bold rooms - white was his go-to, with him being more concerned about how comfortable the furniture was instead of the color of the walls. You’d done Nick’s living room in bold, dark colors, and Harry loved it. It was his home, he’d told Harry. It wasn’t just a place he stayed and passed the time until he found somewhere else to live. It somehow felt right, even in the summertime, which Harry had initially worried about after seeing it for the first time. The home had Nick Grimshaw written all over it, and Harry was envious of how easily his best friend’s personality was packaged within every room.

He’d wanted that for himself, and you would be the one to give that to him.

He relishes in watching you work the room. You’re completely in your element, answering a couple of questions from Megan when the girl timidly approaches, letting her know that she was free to take lunch just as soon as your meeting with Harry wrapped up. You thank a middle-aged man for his order when he stops in to retrieve a rug, running to hold the door open for him as he heaves the rolled-up carpet over his shoulder. You make a joke with him as he leaves, winking at him with a smile and a wave of your hand.

Were you always this beautiful, or had Harry neglected to see how effortless your charm was?

No, that couldn’t have been the case. He’d noticed right from the second he laid eyes on you that you were something special; something different.

You lead him to the back of the expansive store, asking him questions about his current living space, wondering what pieces of furniture he wanted to keep and which he wanted to ditch.

“Oh my gosh!” you stop abruptly in the doorway to your office, clutching Harry’s shoulder as your eyes widen. “I didn’t even ask you if you wanted anything to drink! Water, coffee, tea?” you shuffle to the mini-fridge in the corner of the room, opening it and then closing it again. “I’m sorry. So sorry. I jump the gun sometimes. Get excited over the idea of a new space to transform and all that,” you laugh, rolling your eyes at yourself.

“Water would be great, thanks,” Harry smiles. He tries not to touch a hand to where you’d touched his shoulder, but he was worried you’d burned a hole through his shirt, what with how hot the area felt to him now.

He notices the familiar smell when he walks into your office, nodding his head when he sees that you’ve got yet another Diptyque candle burning on top of a filing cabinet - he can tell it’s pomegranate without even reading the label. He inspects the decor, loving the juxtaposition of clean lines set against rustic elements which make the room feel comforting and clean.

You pull out a chair with brightly colored fabric across the cushions, offering it to Harry before placing a bottle of water in front of him and walking to the opposite side of your desk.

“Okay,” you wake your computer up, scooting your chair closer to the screen. “I normally take clients through my portfolio so they can see the spaces I’ve completed, before and after I’ve gotten my hands on them.” You adjust the large monitor so Harry can view the screen as well. “Does that sound alright?”

“Of course,” he rubs his hands on his knees. “Whatever you normally do.”

You click on a file, asking Harry if he could see the screen properly. You show him your bigger projects - cafes and restaurants, along with office buildings - as well as clients who had hired you to renovate their houses. You mention how you tend to be inspired by patterns and colors, along with custom fabric you use to reupholster vintage, antique furniture.

“Do you reupholster them yourself?” he asks.

“The smaller pieces, yeah,” you nod, taking a sip from the cup of tea in front of you. “Like that chair you’re sitting on. I usually spend my free time refurbishing the pieces I find. I’ve done chairs, side tables, desks - all that,” you go on, clicking open a picture of one of your completed pieces. “Stopped doing the big stuff when my schedule got busier. Now, I work with a father-and-son team and they do the couches and loveseats,” you click again, a picture of you and two men sitting on a couch in what seems to be a workshop. “There we are,” you chuckle, quickly moving on to the next picture.

Harry knows that he can’t ask you to go back - what would you think of him if he’d insisted upon you showing him the picture again, just so he could see the way your legs crossed one over the other at the knee; how you smiled so easily, your eyes bright and your arms wrapped around the shoulders of both men. You were happy - genuinely happy - and it was a look you wore well.

“So which pieces from your current place do you want to keep?” you ask, meeting Harry’s eyes when he looks up from his lap. “If any…”

“Thinkin’ maybe,” he pulls at his bottom lip. “I’d wanna start fresh? To keep consistent?”

“Perfect,” you nod, minimizing your portfolio and bringing up a calendar. “Okay then,” you begin, moving the monitor back to its original position. “I’ll need to see your new place before I do any work-ups for you. Is there a time this week I can come and see the space?”

Harry’s heart jumps at the thought, even though your intent is purely professional.

You’d said the words, though.

You wanted to come over to his house. To his place. To his home.

“All I ‘ave is time,” he smiles. “So whatever works for you.”

Two days later, Harry finds himself waiting for you at his new property, the wintery London rain keeping him indoors as he paces back and forth in front of the large window overlooking the drive. It was just like London to rain on such a day - a day that should’ve been filled with bright sun to match the occasion - but he was used to the drizzle, no matter how much he didn’t agree with it.

His phone rings, the vibration in his back pocket causing him to jump. An unknown number flashes on the screen, and when he picks up, he’s surprised to hear your voice on the other line.

“So sorry, Harry!” your plea causes him to smile. You sound different on the phone - your voice is less smooth, but he lets the sound of it was over him, regardless. “I promise I haven’t stood you up! My shoot on the other end of town ran long, but I swear ‘m on my way! The GPS says ten minutes.”

“Don’t worry about it,” he chuckles. “I’ll be here. Drive safe, alright?”

You say you will and apologize again before hanging up. He grins as he looks out the window, biting his lower lip and furthering the dimples in his cheeks.

You’ve got his number saved in your phone.

He’s got your number now.

Whether it was your business phone or your personal phone didn’t matter. He had a direct line to you, and you to him. Knowing that he’d most likely never use it for reasons other than strictly professional, he felt nearly giddy as he saved your number, creating a new contact for you.

When you arrive, he’s surprised to see that it’s in a van with your logo on the side. Why - based on everything he knows about you thus far - is that the thing to make him hard? And why does his stomach flip so dramatically when he sees you step out of the driver’s seat, dressed in a worn-in flannel and jeans with paint splatters on them? You shuffle quickly over to the passenger’s side, shielding your eyes from the rain. When you emerge into sight again, you’ve got your arms full of materials like folders, tape measures, and a ruler. You laugh as you run up to the front door, shielding your papers beneath your plaid shirt.

How was Harry supposed to make it through the afternoon without a full-on stiffy with you looking like that?

“Hi,” he smiles when he opens the door, the security system beeping throughout the empty house.

“Hi!” you jump into the foyer, trying to catch your breath. “I’m so sorry - I hate being late!”

“Not a problem,” Harry assures you, noticing the pencil tucked behind your ear.

“And I’m sorry for looking suck a mess,” you peel your boots off with one hand, clutching your supplies close to your chest with the other. “Just set up a shoot and didn’t want to be even later in the name of looking presentable.”

Harry looks down at his hoodie and torn jeans, his hair flopping down onto his forehead, “Look more presentable than I do,” he chuckles.

You scoff, placing your boots neatly together, just as Harry did at your flat. He smiles at the unnecessary gesture, appreciative that you didn’t even bother ask whether or not he’d prefer you take your shoes off. Not that he’d have a problem either way - you could traipse mud and leaves all over his new home and he’d thank you for it.

“‘ve got the measurements and whatnot,” he explains as the two of you walk into the kitchen. “The original contractor has the blueprints and sent them over so we’d ‘ave ‘em.”

“Great,” you nod, inspecting the cabinetry from afar. “Think today’ll just be me scoping out the rooms, taking some measurements just to double-check,” you run your hands through your hair after setting down your armful of materials onto the counter. “Not that I don’t trust the contractor’s numbers. I’ve got my own system, though. Years of doing this makes me a creature of habit,” you smirk, flipping open a folder labeled STYLES, H. in bold letters. His heart jumps, thinking that you could’ve been the one to write it. “Wanna help me measure?”

“Of course,” he nods - maybe a bit too eagerly - as you reach for your tape measure and clip it onto the back pocket of your jeans.

The two of you walk through the empty house in your socked feet, Harry remaining quiet until you say something. You inspect each room, writing down how many windows are in each, commenting on where some crown molding will need to be replaced, recommending that the carpet be taken up and replaced with real hardwood to give it a more modern feel.

“Which colors are we thinking so far?” you inquire, unclipping the tape measure. Pulling out the free edge, you hand it to Harry, your fingertips touching his while you cock your head to the other side of the room with a smile. He’s frozen for a moment, willing you to reach out and grace your hand over his once more, but he’s snapped out of it by you walking away from him. He follows your lead, walking to the opposite wall from the one you’re standing against, holding the bulky measure down against the floorboard.

“Like the thought of a dark blue for this room,” he looks around, squatting on one knee when he reaches the wall. “Cozy livin’ room ‘n all that.”

“Good, good,” you grin. “Don’t want you to be swayed by my own likes and dislikes, but I promise you it’ll look good.” You make a quick chart with the ruler you’ve brought on the inside flap of the manila folder, muttering something about always needing to have straight lines, no matter if it was written in on an official document or the inside of a folder. It makes Harry smile, the admission of your quirk. “And if not, we can always change it. Paint is easy to change.”

“Don’t think’ll want t’ change it,” Harry assures, walking slowly backwards with the free end of the tape between his fingertips, crouching down once you’ve met him to measure the width of the room. “Whatever you’ve shown me so far, I’ve loved.”

You peek up through the hair that’s fallen down into your eyes as you scribble more numbers onto the folder, smiling at him in a way he forces himself to remember. His heart pounds in his chest - so much so that he hopes you can’t hear it - and he finds it difficult to swallow the lump that’s housed in his throat.

You work easily together as walk through each room, speaking vaguely about the initial ideas both of you had for the house. You don’t try to sell Harry on one idea or another - you offer a suggestion and if he doesn’t like it, you offer another until he’s comfortable. He feels relaxed, especially once you assure him that nothing is set in stone and that your feelings won’t be hurt if he doesn’t like something you suggest. This is his home, you remind him. It’s all up to him.

“What was the shoot about?” Harry asks as you measure the windows in what will eventually be his bedroom.

“Uneven decorating. Odd numbers look better,” you explain, sniffling slightly. “Always want to have one, three, or five of something, unless it’s like a side table or lamps. But anything on a wall - like framed art or pictures - and table decorations like figurines or candles look best when there’s an odd number of them.”

“You allowed to tell me which publication?” he smirks slyly, leaning up against the wall.

You twist your mouth, trying to conceal a smile. You think on it for a second, tucking your pencil back behind your ear. “Promise not to tell?” you reach out with your pinky, a pseudo-stern look on your face.

“Promise,” Harry links his pinky with yours, trying to conceal his smile by keeping his lips pressed tightly together. How could he say no to a pinky-promise imposed by a gorgeous woman? There were laws against it, he thinks.

“I’m serious!” you scoff, dropping your hand to your side. “I’ll know it was you if you say anything. If you even mention it to anyone - especially Nicholas Grimshaw - I’ll never speak to you again.”

He clears his throat, rubbing his nose twice. He closes his eyes, forcing himself to wear the same stern look you’re sporting. When he opens his eyes, you’re still staring at him intently.

“Swear,” he nods.

“And then you’ve gone and broken a pinky promise, too. Which in my books…” you raise your eyebrows and shake your head with a twitch of your pointer finger in front of you. “It’s HGTV Magazine. From the US.”

“That’s like a major TV channel there, innit?”

“Yeah,” you nod slowly, your eyes widening at the thought. “Now they’ve got magazines. And paint. And furniture. And decor. ‘ve got the market cornered over there. Huge, huge company. Like…massive.”

“And you’ve never been featured in the States, ‘ave you?”

“No,” you nearly whisper.

“That’s a big fuckin’ deal, then!”

“Guess so,” you chuckle, running your hands through your hair. “Thanks for that.”

“Absolutely,” Harry laughs, knocking your shoulder with his knuckles. “Congratulations. It really is a huge deal.”

He knew you were successful, but hearing about how you set up the studio to look like a living room today and would be going back tomorrow in order to get your portrait taken in the room makes him realize just how successful you are. A four-page spread, including an interview on how you’d taken London by storm and your influences would be seen within the American market soon. Their words, not yours, you assured Harry.

As the two of you walk through the rooms on the second floor, he asks how you started within the industry. You explain to him that you went to school to be a financial advisor and specialized in small business accounts. You were a pencil-pusher, you told Harry, and you were stuck in an office all day long. You’d spend your weekends refurbishing antique furniture, finding that you’d had a knack for it. It made you happy - so happy that it was the only thing that got you through the monotony of your work week. Although you loved your clients and always enjoyed the pride that came with their wins, you weren’t especially happy in your job. Something had to change.

After agreeing that all of the light fixtures upstairs would have to be replaced, you went on to talk about how even though you saw how much stress your clients were under running their own businesses, you couldn’t shake the feeling of wanting to begin your own business.

“Put my life savings into my first shop,” you flick off the hallway bathroom’s light. “I was eating Ramen nearly every night. Went without electricity in my apartment for a week because I didn’t ‘ave enough money to pay for lights at the store and lights at home,” you laugh. “Feels like such a long time ago…”

You started out selling furniture and other decor items. It was tough, but little by little, you made progress. Eventually, one of your regular customers asked if you were interested in working with her as an interior design consultant for her company. It helped get your name out, and soon you were redesigning spaces for people you could’ve never imagined.

Harry admires how smart and brave you are - he can understand how scary it is to go it alone without knowing the results. He was going through it right now. He was in a more privileged position, sure, but he was still unsure of what the future held, and he could appreciate how much courage it took to start over. It made him look at you in a different light - a light that allowed him to see the struggle you’d gone through, working you way from nothing to one of the best in your field. He’d envied the confidence that you sported when it came to your work and wondered if he, himself, would ever feel that.

Once you’re finished taking down all of the information you need, you follow Harry back downstairs.

“Still raining,” you frown, gathering all of your materials. “Does wonders for the hair.” You pretend to flip it over your shoulders. The natural state of it brought out by the weather makes Harry want you all the more.

“Ye’ look great.”

You tut, rolling your eyes a bit, but thank him nonetheless. “So, ‘ve got to take off,” you state, your body language pulling you back to the foyer. “But I really am so excited to get started on the mockups,” you hop a little. “It’s a beautiful space and we can start from scratch, which is when I have most of my fun.”

“‘m excited too,” Harry smiles.

“‘ll have Megan call you when I’m done with the renderings,” you slip your boots back on. “Should take no longer than a week. So count on next Thursday?”

“Yeah,” he nods. “And congratulations again on the magazine - really is a big deal.”

You tilt your head to the side, all of your features softening. “Thank you, Harry,” you smile coyly. You squeeze him a bit as you hug goodbye, the materials in your arms pressed between the two of you creating a barrier that Harry would rather be without. “I had fun today.”

“I did, too.”

He watches you run to your work van, leaping over a particularly large puddle. He laughs to himself as you struggle with your keys before unlocking the driver’s door, diving into the vehicle with a sigh that he can’t see. He watches as you push your mussed-up hair back, noticing him standing in the front window. You wave with a knowing smile before turning on the engine and backing out of the drive.

It’s that smile - that sly smirk - that pushes Harry over the edge that night.

He didn’t want to touch himself, but he’d been rock hard ever since he saw how beautiful your ass looked in your paint-splattered work jeans as you ran to the car. He didn’t want to defile you in his mind as he stroked himself in the shower, water running down his shoulders and back as he faced away from the spray. He didn’t want to moan your name as his balls tightened, the images of you naked and begging for him littering his mind to the point of no return.

But, he did.

He had to.

Nobody would know - it would be his secret - but if he didn’t jack off to the thought of you, he was sure he’d lose his damn mind.

He pictures you sporting the same upturn of your lips from earlier as you ride him, your flannel from that day still on, yet unbuttoned to reveal your breasts as you grind down against him. You know what you do to him, and your smile tells all. He imagines how beautiful you’d sound as he gripped your hips, slowing your movements to nearly a stop while he pushes up into you, groaning at the gasp you give him in return.

He’d never wanted to be inside someone as much as he wanted to be inside you. He wants to feel your breath against his ear, his name across your lips, your fingertips gripping his shoulders. He wants to know what you taste like - sweet, probably, like the candles you burn. He wants to know how warm you are; how wet he can make you by just the touch of his lips to yours. He wants to hear your moan - feel it vibrate down his cock while he’s in your mouth, that gorgeous pout of yours wrapped around the head of him.

He wants it all, but he can’t have it, so his hand will have to do.

A part of him feels guilty when he cums on the shower wall, his splotchy vision and ringing ears indicating that he gave in too quickly. But, fuck. What was a man supposed to do? You’d smelled so good; your stories never bored him; you were becoming a global success and you’d accepted to work with him.

And your ass? In those jeans?

He was done before he ever began, as far as that was concerned.

He walks out of the shower on shaky legs, a white bath towel wrapped loosely around his waist. Sitting down on the edge of the bed, he takes his head in his hands and grunts.

“Fuck’r you on, Styles?” he asks himself.

He leans back onto the covers, his feet dangling off the edge of his bed that he’ll soon replace with another one, based upon your recommendation. He falls asleep that way - sleeps deeply, too, his hair wet and his towel coming undone after he shifts slightly in his slumber. It’s a deep sleep, one that doesn’t produce a memory of a dream, and Harry is thankful for that.

He doesn’t think he could take another night of dreaming of you.

Not if he wasn’t able to turn those dreams into a reality so that his mind could stop wandering day in and day out…

Not if he wasn’t able to get what he wanted…

Not if, he knows, he wasn’t able to make you his.
