“I know one thing. I know that you are wildling to the bone. It was easy to forget that sometimes, when they were laughing together, or kissing. But then one of them would say something, or do something, and he would suddenly be reminded of the wall between their worlds.”
follow-up to this! (for this to make sense, you probably need to read that first, whoops |D)
It was strange, but kissing Chat was oddly like tasting petrichor.
Warm and dry and wet and earthy; something solid and real and, well, peaceful. If it weren’t for the context, Marinette would be sure she was just kissing a friend, perhaps drunkenly after delivering said friend home and the friend was feeling affectionate.
It was nothing like the bold of lightning that had struck her as soon as Adrien’s lips had touched hers — nothing like the heart-pounding, spine-tingling, knee-weakening first brush of split-second contact she’d had then, jolted away from after only the sparest second because it was just too much.
Kissing Chat was wholesome and undramatic — a simple, honest kiss between two people who just happened to be getting married at the moment.
She was getting married.
The witnesses and officiator, the same group that had married Ladybug and Adrien, laughed as she and Chat drew apart, giving each other awkward little smiles, and then dissolved into laughter themselves.
If she had to get married twice, she could have done a whole lot worse, Marinette thought, catching her breath and watching her partner lose it harder. She could’ve done a lot worse than her childhood dream and someone who made her laugh like this.
One of the witnesses slung his arms around their shoulders and said to Chat, “You should have seen the other two! Awkward as newborn colts, those two were. You got lucky you already had someone you wanted to marry.”
The man slapped their shoulders and finished off with, “Congratulations on finally marrying your girlfriend. I hope you two have a wonderful life together.”
Hey all! So I got tagged by @isabeau25 in a WIP meme, but I didn’t really have a WIP at that moment, and then Fancypond (ozbian) on Ao3 prompted me in a comment to write a thing, and so I’m going to post an excerpt! Hit two birds and all that. So enjoy Keith and Lance shenanigans.
“Hey, what are you doing right now?”
Keith’s eyebrow ticked up. “Uh, I was going to go train…?” he said this last part almost like a question. Lance huffed, throwing off his frown, and coming forward to sling an arm around Keith’s neck. The guy still looked surprised, so Lance laid it on thick.
“What do you say to coming out to explore the woods with me? There’s probably some cool ancient ruins, some sweet trees, and scanners said there was a lake we can swim in out there too! Eh? Eh? How’s that sound?”
Keith looked nonplussed, though he’d looked interested at the mention of ruins. “Why are you asking me?”
After all, Lance hadn’t ever really asked him to hang out, so it wasn’t that surprising. Lance pushed away the awkwardness he felt.
“Keith, my buddy, my pal. Why wouldn’t I ask you to come? We’re friends, aren’t we?”
Keith was side eying him pretty hard, and Lance was starting to feel a blush come up on his cheeks.
“Everyone already said no, didn’t they?” he said, voice flat. Lance rubbed his neck.
“Eh, well, maybe, but seriously, do you want to go? It sounds awesome out there, and no one wants to go. Pretty please!” Throwing dignity aside, Lance clasped his hands together. Keith’s face broke into a funny little smile.
“Okay, fine. Geez, you’re ridiculous.”
Lance let out a breath, whooping. “Alright! Grab your swimming trunks, my man! This is gonna be awesome!”
//Aaaaah please forgive me but i gotta rest. I got a bunch of replies and I still have to finish recording voicelines (memes closed btw) but I’m damn near dead– I tried to do some so the queue will handle stuff for today, I’ll be back online tomorrow. I’m real sorry guys
Clearing out files for the new year! Here’s some of the doodlier things I’ve drawn the past months, and some old, old WIPs I never finished orz. Last draw is Ren of Indivisible but this post doesn’t deserve a fanart tag, LOL.
