and i was to lazy to find them

So excited.

I’m going across the city this afternoon to meet with a lady who runs a rattery.

It’s been a few years since I’ve had a rat, and it’s well and truly time, I miss them so much. I’ve only ever had boys, which are big lazy couch potatoes. This time I’m getting girls, who are more active but don’t scent mark, which is difficult to train some boys out of. I don’t know if I’ll pick up girls today, it’ll depend on what litters she has going/planned. She breeds show quality and some beautiful markings, but I don’t need that, I just want to find a pair of friendly healthy girls who want to come live with me, and she’s got a really great reputation for having good health/temperament standards.

You know it’s a good rattery when they don’t let people just pick from photos, you have to go over and meet them and the rats and talk about your living conditions and choose rats in person.

And tomorrow, it’s my birthday! I’m turning 24 and my mum is even coming down to visit which will be really nice. It’s my Dad’s birthday tomorrow too, I was his birthday present.

(=     w =) i just love these two so much! <3

cartoon network isnt even trying to be slick with its laziness/greed they just keep making spinoffs and reboots of shows and movies that already have a fanbase, watering them down into simple and easy to produce shows, and capitalizing on an already guaranteed audience

usually i wouldnt complain but it keeps

happening

over

and over

and over

like. reboots are fine. reboots can be done well. we just got a fantastic one for samurai jack. but after watching all of these shows quite a bit and trying to find positives in them, i still am just left with a bad taste in my mouth and the strong impression that CN is only after ratings, not trying to produce shows that actually have originality or depth or creativity

and that impression is especially reinforced when they give their shows that ARE original and creative erratic airing times, random hiatuses, and choose to advertise for the same episode of teen titans go 100 times rather than give a single preview of anything else

The layout of my new campaign binder for my Curse of Strahd campaign! My players are around 9th level. They beat Strahd, the mists retreated, and now the whole of the demiplane of dread is open to them.

Taking a lot of inspiration from @parisianqueen‘s DM style, I made custom stat pages in Photoshop for every aspect of the game: PC’s, NPC’s, Domains, random tables, background info, etc.

I also developed a brand new Tarokka Reading layout to account for new relics and new NPC’s in the lands beyond Barovia.

This is the first time I’ve put this much effort into organizing and tracking a campaign before running it. As a lazy DM, I’m finding it a lot harder but also a lot more fulfilling.

the cicadas are singing / the cicadas are dying
in droves. they are droning graveyard hymns
so relentlessly i have to wonder:
is it their funeral or mine?
maybe i am the one being buried
here under the summer heat.
maybe i should be mourning too.

dear dante, do you wear shoes in chicago?
what i mean is: will you still be the same
as i remembered? and do i want you
to be the same? you can’t answer
these questions; i’m just wondering, i guess.
just wishing something could be different
even though i don’t know what.

dante.

dear ari, chicago is too full of shoes;
not enough birds / not enough dreams.
i miss swimming, and i miss you—
can i say this, at least? i almost miss
el paso, but the memories of home
are starting to blur. everything hazy
except you’re always in sharp focus.
you can’t answer but i’m also wondering:
if i held your hand, could we make it
through all these faded june afternoons?

ari.

(maybe. i don’t know. i don’t know—)

dante.

if we carried hope into a thunderstorm
could we finally taste the rain?

How i see the mars signs

Aries Mars:  HELLA ANGRY OMG. they talk with such anger and hostility and like can be so so so so brutal and mean and physically violent sometimes.

Taurus Mars: Stubborn like if there pissed at you they probably won’t change what there stance is until to you until you apologize and maybe will still be pissed at you.

Gemini Mars: okay like every gemini placement THEY ARE ALL OVER THIS PLACE WITH THERE ANGER like “OMG IM SO MAD, wait cats are cool, no wait what i mad about again”

Cancer Mars: “I GIVE I GIVE AND NO ONE LOVES OR APPRECIATES ME!!11!” a really angry crier like they probably are sobbing because they are pissed at you.

Leo Mars: Probably really in control with there anger tbh?? idk i feel like there are a tons of ways to piss leo mars off but i feel they try to keep in control of there anger.

Virgo mars: Emotions??? VIRGO???? *insert laughing here* I mean i think they are super critical and cant see there own faults but like come on, its virgo…

Libra Mars: probably really like peace actually, fightings just not for them. probably a little lazy and finds issues with motivation.

Scorpio mars: The god of murder. little tip DONT FUCK WITH THEM. they will probably wish ill on you for the rest of there life if there pissed. (pleasedon’thurtme)

Sagittarius Mars: they’re like super carefree most of the time but if they are pissed at you they probably have a good reason.

Capricorn Mars: Blunt, brutal and probably have no mercy when angry. probably dig deep for wounds.

Aquarius Mars: I don’t think they’re capable of getting too angry. like honestly really cool and chill and just want to relax and sleep.

Pisces Mars: really really passive aggressive when hurt. pls don’t hurt them. they mean well.

(I wasn’t being serious just heads up)

5.5.17 // 7:05pm // guide to exam season

hello hello! i know i’ve been a little absent the past few days, but i had my last exam yesterday and now i’m finally home. i asked for advice/masterpost topic suggestions, so without further ado, here is my guide to exam season! (as requested by @rivkahstudies)

whether it’s high school finals, college finals or ap/ib exams, i’m sure we all know how it feels to have to learn (seemingly) all the knowledge ever known in a few weeks. here’s how to come out relatively unscathed:

1. pretty notes are nice, but they also take forever. i’m a huge fan of making summaries and study guides so, to spice up my notes efficiently, i pick two colored pens that I alternate between for each section/topic.

2. on a similar vein, don’t use a billion different colors/pens/highlighters. it takes time to switch between pens or to pick up a highlighter. and to figure out what color the term/fact should be classified as. underlining and writing in all caps is just as effective to provide emphasis on something. and way faster.

3. study guides are your friend. like i said earlier, this is one of my favorite way to study for big cumulative exams. go through your notes (or the textbook) and summarize, but make sure you understand what you write down. write things in a way that makes sense to you (don’t just copy). going back over lecture notes is great because it forces you to put pieces together, calls things you didn’t get to your attention, and allows you to skip over concepts you are already very solid in.

4. learn from practice problems. if your teacher/professor give past exams or practice problems, use them. i like to go through them and, if i don’t know how to do something and wasn’t just being dumb, i take notes on key concepts/strategies used to solve the problem. this way, it’s on my radar and i can apply those strategies to other problems. if you really don’t have time (or are lazy like me), go through the solutions and take notes on any solution that you wouldn’t have immediately thought of. not quite as effective as actually doing them first, but it still helps.

5. memorize strategically. this one is really great for vocab or classes like ap spanish lit where you need to know facts about lots of different works. start by memorizing the “easy” ones that stand out. maybe you have a personal connection, or it’s the only work in that style or time period. i find starting there and working towards the more “difficult” works builds confidence and helps you be really sure of the ones you do know. if you get down to the end and there are two works you always get confused, at least you’ve narrowed down the list by having everything else locked in.

6. breathe. one of the worst things you can do is let yourself get overwhelmed (either while studying or while test-taking). don’t let yourself get to that point. if you need to take a step back, do it. pushing yourself too far can lead to a complete shut down, which will put you out of commission for (possibly) days and only fuel your sense of helplessness. exams are important, but they’re not so important that you need to sacrifice your well being.

best of luck with all your exams and please feel free to message me/send me an ask if you want more advice. i love giving it :D -m

Few weeks ago I ran into this thing at the movie theater. And I wondered what it was. There was no name, there was no plaque, there was no identifier around it. Just a strange skeleton in the middle of a shared foyer of a movie theater, sports venue, bowling hall and gym. What was this strange skeleton that had nothing that said what it was, that was so proudly on display for no apparent reason? What is the meaning behind a giant rodent-like creature to eat it’s own tail? Or was it just a very expensive promotion of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them?

Then the answer came on my tumblr dashboard in a form of a freezeframe on a video as I was scrolling down.

It’s a prop from Lazytown.

Neither of the Holt kids actually need glasses. We know Pidge doesn’t need them and just wore them as a disguise/to look more like Matt. But Matt doesn’t actually need them either.

If you look at the screencaps from the Kerberos mission, Samuel Holt still has his glasses on in his space suit, but Matt doesn’t.

Conclusion: Matt and Katie Holt are huge nerds who wear glasses purely for Aesthetic.
