and i made like 3 different colorings of this just to find the right tone :

Here’s the full transcript of Mark talking Darkiplier in the livestream

(Time approx. 3 hours, 52 minutes to 4 hours, 4 minutes into the stream. And, yes, this took forever). Thought you’d like this, maybe.

I’ve bolded stuff I find especially interesting.

~~~~~~~
Mark: Long ago, a long time ago, I liked to do these scary edits because I just felt like doing scary edits and this is how Darkiplier got born. And then what happened was over time Darkiplier became less and less about the scary figure and more about this romantic figure, and it always rubbed me the wrong way. And I kind of shied away from Darkiplier for a while. And I really really really- if I was going to bring Darkiplier, and when we thought about this, we thought, okay there should be a Darkiplier route. And that was there from the beginning, and so when I wanted to do it I wanted to do it my way, and I wanted to do it right, and I wanted to have this unending level of creepiness. And at the same time, I didn’t want to step on the toes of Antisepticeye because I know there’s a big fan base of that, and I didn’t want to get in the way of that at all and I really don’t care that there’s more than one dark personalities of people. But when I saw the opportunity to have this character here, I spent like 8 hours editing this, like just meticulously every single RBG. This is a layer, we green screened this one, I color corrected it, I separated the RBG layers I added the shakes and glitchiness every frame. I worked on the voice, too. The voice took me the longest to figure out. Like the shakes! And my computer was dying this whole time cause I put my effects on here.
Tyler: The amount of time you had to spend rendering this.
Mark: And so, the audio’s actually three separate layers. It would have been two, but Kathryn helped me out on that one to make it more clear. It’s a normal pitched layer that’s edited, echoed, reverbed, mastered, and convoluted which means it’s just thrown off to the left and right, and then it’s a deep layer of that. But then to make it really come together- it didn’t live without this center channel that wasn’t convoluted but was centered. But getting that voice right was so pinnacle, so paramount to what I wanted to come out of this. And we did like thirty minutes of shooting various versions of me talking to the camera and I wanted to pick the exact dialogue that really kind of gave away my idea of what Dark is in not a terribly obvious way.
Tyler: The other thing, this was supposed to all be one video.
Mark: But YouTube annotations, this new version doesn’t allow you to link the same video multiple times, so these are literally the old videos that I first did when Darkiplier first came about, like, these are the ones, especially this one here, and then this is my cheap knockoff Darkiplier.
Amy: Canon Darkiplier.
Mark: Canon Darkiplier. And I’m going to readily admit something. I joked about Darkiplier because it didn’t seem like something people wanted to take seriously, and I’m okay with that on certain aspects but it had diverged into multiple different facets and multiple different personalities, and everyone had their own version of Darkiplier, and I thought it was hilarious that, “Hey, here’s my version of Darkiplier, and he’s an idiot.” Like, he’s just this weird emo kid. And then I stepped back from that, like, I stepped back. And you can even- in that time, when I was doing those videos, in this era, I was not very happy. I was kind of… I was pessimistic about a lot of things. And I felt like that bled through in a lot of things I did. And that’s why even October of last year I literally made Darkiplier an emo character. And then when we were getting to this, I thought about it like very carefully and I thought back to why I did it originally, and I did it originally because, well, Darkiplier wasn’t even a thing. Darkiplier was not a thing when I was making those videos. I just wanted to make some creepy stuff. And then I thought about that, and I was like if I want to make a statement about who this is, I need to own that and I need to put something out there that is not ambiguous, because I realize that’s where I went wrong. I didn’t have a solid character so obviously, people would come up with their own versions, they would fill in the gaps where they saw fit. So, when I made this I had to embrace it fully and fine-tune it down to exactly where I wanted. When you choose the “fake” choice carrying through to this one, I really wanted that to come through, except at the end to this video, where it gets silly, but that’s because the real me comes in and the real me’s an idiot. And I’ve actually watched this over and over again because I’m listening to the takes I put in here and I’m listening to my inflection and my tone, my demeanor and I’m imagining like how to refine it better next time when I bring him back, like how to do it better.
Tyler: I remember now, I set up the table.
Mark: Yeah, you did. You set up the table we had to change it out for clear glasses because the green screen was reflecting through. But yeah, even this, like the intersplices of anger, and this is me getting real deep in the meta of Darkiplier, like if that’s even a thing that can be- let me just pause it here. I don’t read too much into this but if there’s something that I want to take seriously, I want to actually do right. So, in my mind, Darkiplier is an entirely different person from me. But, much like Warfstache, doesn’t obey the laws of physics. He exists in another world entirely and bleeds through into this one. This is sounding really nerdy of me.
Tyler: I remember the Warfstache talk.
Mark: So Completely unironically, Darkiplier is a completely separate entity from who I am. But, he admires what I’ve accomplished, and he’s very much… people picked up on this, and people thought it was really creepy, because it’s what I wanted. He’s a social manipulator. He is literally, 100% manipulative. He leads you into this false sense of security, and he wants you to trust him because he wants to take advantage of you. That is literally what I wanted for Darkiplier. And how creepy and scary that actually is from the surface. Especially in this first bit, where he says, “If dinner is what you want, then I can provide.” And I wanted this to come across in a seductive way while also masking, like, this burning rage inside that breaks through the suave nature of it. That was my clue to reveal he’s not your friend. He’s not here to help you. He’s here to use you. And that also came across when I was thinking about, like, the effects. Like, his image shatters, he separates because he’s not entirely kept together, you know what I mean? So, I wanted like the drastic impacts of the rage pulling back suddenly to the calm nature and the demeanor and this last one, I was thinking was especially telling. It’s not me trying to break through, it’s his shell cracking.
Kathryn: I love that.
Mark: Yeah? It’s my favorite of all of them.
Kathryn: That’s one’s my favorite. I have legitimately just gone and watched that bit.
Mark: Yeah?
Kathryn: It’s really good.
Mark: Oh, thank you.
Kathryn: I really like that.
Mark: Yeah. And number 1 the visuals work hard on this one, but nailing the audio- that high-pitched ringing that a lot of people were like wow that really hurts my ears, that was by design. That was supposed to hurt because listening to him- a lot if inspiration for him comes from G-man from Half-life 2 and 1, like this weird interdimensional person that seems human but is obviously not and doesn’t obey the laws of physics, and is just like this shell of a person that’s in a suit. Not a suit, literally a human suit, and is trying to figure out how to puppet it right that you believe him, but he’s really good at it. And that’s where the scariness of Darkiplier, I think, really comes from, is because he seems like someone you can trust, and he will manipulate you, and take advantage of you, and literally use you, and to me that’s terrifying. Like that’s the antithesis of what I want to be and so if I’m going to make an opposite version of me, he’s gonna be the fucking worst. Like worse than any romantic story can ever bring about. He’s fucking awful.
Amy: It was convenient, though, I like the way it goes from Relax to this, like the video “Relax,” because then people were not expecting this. But it’s so nice to have it on Valentine’s Day. It works so well.
Mark: And then came the bullshit transition that we had to do. So, this is comical in a way.
Amy: It doesn’t drag it though.
Mark: Yeah it doesn’t drag. You get the scary. Tyler’s here-
Tyler: In Mark’s suit, which I have fit in, but not the pants.
Mark: He didn’t fit, we forgot to get a tie, like, we printed out a mask, and I looked at this and was like I could try to make this creepy, and then I went, I objectively can’t. Let me throw in some punch sound effects.
Tyler: I have to make sure, cause-
Mark: He couldn’t see shoot.
Tyler: No, I couldn’t, and I had to keep moving the mask cause there was one time we did this that the mask ended up completely on the side of my head and I was just like, hey Mark, you can’t touch my face.
Amy: The convenient thing about this, though, with all the glitches is that you can hide stuff with it.
Tyler: Yeah, and there’s a reason I never let go of Mark I have no clue where anything is.
Mark: Yeah, oh man. Oh, this, oh my god. Oh, and secret Easter egg- you know who Dark is because he doesn’t have a shadow. Totally intentional and by design.
Amy: His toes are missing too, but.
Mark: Shh he doesn’t have toes he’s so scary.
Bts ignoring you and you calling them “Daddy” to get their attention
A/N: Second day of everyday doing reactions with Li. I had a very stressful day, but I’m happy I managed to finish this. All reactions are requested. <3 Li
Jin
As per usual Jin was too absorbed in thinking about the other members and their health in the form of a nice menu or a place to eat that won’t damage his boys health. That made him forget about you. It was uncommon for him so it made you feel strange-less appreciated. But there was something that always got his attention “Daddy…” the word slipped of your tongue so easily. Jin eyes widen at the beginning and you thought that he’ll react unusual but he didn’t. He just put back his calm face and opened his legs so you could sit on his lap. “Did daddy neglect his princess?”
Yoongi
When Yoongi was working usually meant he waas working so he ignored everything around him. You too. And that was literally the only thing you didn’t like about Yoongi. But he had his weak points,one of which was “Daddy…baby girly is bored.” Yoongi would turn around an evil smile covering his face “Is she now? How sad I have work so she’ll have to find something to do for an hour and after that Daddy is hers. But until then,baby should behave.”
Namjoon
Namjoon was from those people that were getting so absorbed in a book they forget everything around them. It was around 7 o'clock in the night when you understood that if you let him he’ll read all night long. So that called for a good distraction. And the only better thing to do with your free time is…“Daddy?” Namjoon didn’t even move his eyes from the book but his lips did. “What baby?” drastic times, drastic measures “I need you.” this time Namjoon did move his eyes hidden behind Harry Potter like golden glasses. A serious expression has taken his usually soft features. “Very good then. On the couch Y/N. Next to me. Good girl. Now open your legs. Good. Now leave it to me.” his hand made contact with my hot thigh and his eyes with the book.
*I know it’s a picture, but look at him*
Hoseok
Hoseoks attention was always on you when he was with you, so you didn’t understand why now, in your shared bed, cuddling,it was obvious his mind was somewhere else. And obvious the comeback choreography. You loved that he had so many roles in the group and the others called him the base. But you felt the pressure starts to gets the best of him"Daddy?“ Hoseok attention returned to you so fast. "Daddy is sorry baby. I’ve got a lot on my mind lately. I’m sorry. Daddy is in special need of cuddles and a little something else because this nightgown will be the death of me.”
Jimin
Jimins love and pation beside you was dancing. So it came natural to you that sometimes he would dance all night long, but you haven’t seen him in three days and when you finally saw each other he excused himself and asked you if he could practice while you were talking. That made you bratty af. “Daddy!” Jimin stopped moving, turned around slowly, licked eyes with you and you noticed their color changing from the warm hazelnut color to dark moca brown. “Are you being bratty Y/N? True, I haven’t seen you in few days and it’s true that it’s my fault, but I won’t tolerate that bratty tone. Have you forgotten your manners baby? I think we’ll have a learning session tonight."
Taehyung
Tae and shopping. Shopping and Tae. Galleries and Tae. Tae and galleries. Tae being aesthetic little piece of ignorant shit. Why did he choose a bratty princess like you? "Daddy…Y/N wants to go home.” you said pounting your face at him. “Y/N will wait half an hour.” said Tae with look of warning. It was way more thab half an hour and you knew that. Lately with all the tours, songs and varieties you were barely been able to see him and him not paying attention to you made you salty “Daddy!” Tae hand wrapped around your waist bringing you to his chest.“Be careful Y/N. My patience is wearing thin and knowing that I haven’t touched you in a while makes me go crazy. So behave little girl.”
*masculine Tae, with meat on his bones is a religion, get used to this gif*
Jungkook
Jungkook training was the hottest thing on Earth. His hair was slicked back and little drops of sweat were painting his face. His shirt was nowhere to be seen and his expression was one of total concentration. But in reality his home fitness was taking away him from you. And that, no matter how much you liked sucking flowers on those muscles,was a problem. So one day it all became too much. “Daddy.” it slipped without you even realising it. Jungkook stopped in the middle of the push up, amazing you one more time. “Come here Y/N.” You walked to him and the difference was funny, but it was because of him laying on the floor. And in the next second he wasn’t. He was right in front of you. “Say it again.” his expression was wild and holding in the promises of all those times you couldn’t be together.
She's Not You | TOM HOLLAND X READER
Description: In which the reader, in an effort to get over her crush on Tom, decides to set him up but for some reason none of the girls ever get a second date. Tom’s problem is that the one girl he wants to go out with seems to be hell bent on setting him up with someone else.
Author’s Note: I’m back hoes what’s good? I’m pretty proud of how this turned out and I hope you liked reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Inspiration for this fic came from something I read a while ago and last night it popped into my mind for some reason so yea now there’s this. Anyway, let me know what you think!
FANFICTION MASTERLIST
“So?” I prodded Tom, dragging out the o’s as long as possible. We were in his dressing closet after a long day of filming as he took out his regular clothes at a snail’s pace. You’d think since he’s somewhat of an athlete he’s be a quick changer but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
Tom took out a pair of jeans and threw them on a nearby chair. “So what?” he asked not looking at me.
I threw my head back with a groan, he knew exactly what I was going to ask him. It was the same question I always asked him every time I set him up with a new girl. Each week I’d find a girl who would go on a date with Tom, which wasn’t that much of a challenge, and each week he’d take the girl to dinner.
The only problem was that none of these girls ever got a second date. Not a single one and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why.  I like to think I know Tom pretty well so I’m always surprised when the girls I think he’ll really like never get a second date.
“How was your date with Quinn?” I asked, eager to hear what he thought of her. This is the same question I’d ask every week with another girl’s name. I was hoping that Tom would say he liked her and that he would be taking her out again but-
“It was fine,” Tom answered pulling out a t shirt and shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly.
What about the RFA and Unknown and V finding out that MC has a career in the arts (author, artist, actor or something like that?) @saeranlover
Lol it’s been like 5,000 years since I’ve done a request, here you go bbies
Yoosung:
  • It was always a lingering thought in Yoosung’s mind
  • The thought always came randomly, but sometimes he swore that he  recognized your voice
  • Like the one time you yelled “Come at me!” at a friend who was teasing you and he just froze for a second to think about why it sounded familiar
  • It wasn’t until one day he was testing out a LOLOL character he’s never played before and she screamed out a line of dialogue before her attack
  • And suddenly he heard your voice behind him perfectly recreate the line
  • He turned around to see you cheekily grinning from your place on the bed
  • But it was wiped off your face soon enough because baby boi just pounced you into a big hug
  • “MC WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME YOU VOICED A CHARACTER IN LOLOL I WOULD’VE PLAYED AS HER MORE OFTEN IF I KNEW.”
  • You giggled as he rapidly asked you other things you voice acted in and gawked when he recognized the other characters you’ve voiced in games and cartoons
  • He’ll shyly ask you to reenact his favorite lines or scenes and his inner fanboy will show
  • Yoosung’s never really been into the behind the scenes stuff but he already somewhat was a fan of yours before so he’s basically dating his favorite VA
  • Silly lil’ peanut is gonna ask for your autograph on his merch of the characters you’ve voiced
Jaehee:
  • She found out during one of your nights in
  • You were in the kitchen preparing the snacks while Jaehee sorted through the set of musicals the two of you had rented for tonight (you finally convinced her that watching ‘Promiscuous Jalapeno’ for the 8th time in a row was a little much)
  • Once that was all said and done, you cuddled up to Jaehee while the movie started as she fed you popcorn
  • Oh crap, you recognized this movie
  • You actually got the part of the main dancer in this film (it was your typical dance batte film)
  • You somewhat never wanted her to find out  that you were an actor/dancer in fear of always being compared to Zen
  • Once your character was introduced, Jaehee’s eyes squinted a little at the screen before gasping and shaking your shoulders
  • “MC, MC, IS THAT YOU?”
  • “U-uhm nooooo…?”
  • “Wait, why would you keep this secret from me?”
  • After explaining your reasoning as to why, she just pulled you into a tight hug
  • “I’d never compare you anyone else, I love you just the way you are, famous or not!”
  • After watching the movie, she put aside the time to scour the internet for every performance you’ve been in and is about to be the proud owner of all your merch
  • jaehee please no that was our grocery money
Zen:
  • “lolol zen have you seen mc’s latest cover?”
  • “Cover? What’re you talking about?”
  • “the one on her youtube channel???”
  • “…”
  • “you do know what she does for a living, right??”
  • After Seven endlessly mocked Zen for not knowing what his own girlfriend did for a living, Seven graciously provided the link to your Youtube channel
  • Zen then proceeded to spend the next 3 hours of his life going through
  • your entire channel
  • He knew that you liked to sing and sounded like an angel but this
  • This is something extraordinary
  • You actually made a living doing this and he never even knew!
  •  He finally made his way up to your latest cover (which was uploaded about a week ago), and HO L Y  C R A P
  • It was the song he’s practiced at home for months on end for a musical he recently just starred in!
  • When you get home that night, you’re bombarded with compliments and questions (mostly compliments)
  • You explained that you never recorded around him because you were afraid that he might’ve thought you were going to use him for popularity
  • “Babe, I know you would never do that NOW WILL YOU PLEASE DUET WITH ME–”
  • Guess who has the best mashup cover of ‘Butterfly’ now
Jumin:
  • Coming home a few hours early was indeed a rare occurrence for Jumin
  • Usually when he came home, you were instantly there to greet him with a hug and kiss
  • He called your name, but there was no response, just a faint typing sound
  • After hanging his coat on the coat hanger, he began walking towards the noise, his hands already working on loosening his tie
  • “Ah, here you are, my love,” he said upon entering the officeroom
  • “Jumin, you’re home early,” you smiled, letting your husband wrap his arms around your shoulders and resting his chin atop your head
  • “The office had to close early for some renovations,” Jumin explained, “but I’m more interested in what you’re working on.”
  • “I’m working on my next book!”
  • The surprised look on his face made you remember that you never brought it up to him before, but now is as good as time as any to explain
  • Jumin seemed genuinely intrigued as he listened to your explanation on your book series, which was apparently very popular
  • When you finished, he asked if you could lend him the first addition, as he did enjoy reading in his spare time
  • And soon enough, he was hooked
  • He’d have long talks with you over dinner on how he wasn’t expecting a plot twist or how well you wrote your characters
  • Or about how you should hurry and finish the next book because you left him on a cliffhanger
707:
  • He’s known since the background check that you had a job in digital art but he tucked that away in the back of his head because there were too many other things happening at the time (eg the hacker, your sudden appearance, his emotions and job…)
  • It isn’t until one day where he’s been able to work for a few hours straight without you lecturing him about how he should take a break
  • So he got up from his chair, slapped his right leg a few times to wake it up, and ventured outside his office to find you
  • To no surprise, you were huddled inside in the bedroom, but this time with your drawing tablet in hand
  • “Hey Saeyoung,” you tiredly muttered, eyes still glued to the laptop screen
  • His eyes trailed to where you were looking and a look of mock hurt morphed on his face, “MC, how dare you draw a picture of another man!”
  • You stifled a laugh at your boyfriend’s dramatic tone, “Zen just asked me to draw some things for his website so I’m–”
  • You should me drawing me instead! Here, I’ll even pose for you!”
  • You regret even looking behind you, because Saeyoung was already stripping down to his boxers, need I remind you the pair with cat faces on them
  • “DRAW ME LIKE ONE OF YOUR FRENCH GIRLS.”
  • “SAEYOUNG PUT YOUR CLOTHES BACK ON AND GET TO BACK TO WORK!”
V:
  • Usually you were making some sort of noise in the house, but today you were oddly quiet
  • “MC? Where are you?”
  • “I’m in the living room,” you hollered back as he started making his way over, “Be careful not to bump my arm though.”
  • “What’re you doing?” he asked, taking a seat on the floor next to you
  • You explained that you liked paint and used it as a way to make some extra pocket money
  • V was very happy and excited to hear that you had an artistic career just like him
  • You were always delighted to describe the paintings to him, and you always did it with such passion
  • After awhile, he started to miss photography and he so badly wanted to see your work for himself
  • So he decided to get the eye surgery
  • Once he did, he was shocked at how much he can see your heart poured onto the canvas
  • You often went out into nature together and sit there together for hours to photograph/paint and enjoy one another’s company
  • You also loved painting some of V’s older photographs and he loved it and every single one is framed in the house
  • #artsycouple
  • The day you painted a picture of the sun and gave it to him, he cried
Unknown:
  • The first time Saeran ever walked into your room, his eyes immediately darted to the big, colorful collection of sticky note pads on your desk
  • He picked one up, noting that every one had a slightly different drawing than the others, “What’re these for?”
  • “Oh, I’m an animator! I like to use these sticky notes when I’m bored.”
  • He never got to watch cartoons as a child so this was all new to him
  • Watching you peacefully work is very, very soothing to him, to just watch the lines fill with color so smoothly
  • You even let him have some of your already drawn-on sticky note pads and he likes to flip through them when he’s nervous or needs to calm down when something’s bothering him
  • His favorite is the one you made for him where it goes “I love you, Saeran!” with a cute little doodle of a cartoony-looking you kissing his cheek on it
  • As mentioned before, he never got to watch cartoons or movies as a kid and he’s willing to watch the ones you’ve worked on
  • It always amazes him that you made what was on the screen and he loves it (he’s never said it out loud but it shows on his face)
  • He really enjoys the ones that are story-based rather than the nonsense slapstick ones (which is what Saeyoung enjoys, much to his dismay)
  • Seeing the childlike innocence in his eyes is heartwarming and you wouldn’t trade it for the world
Art Museum
Summary: On your day off, you invite Bucky to an art museum. You’re sure he probably wants to spend his time doing something else besides looking at art, but you soon find that his definition of art might be a bit different than yours.
Okay okay but get this.. . ... insecure Lance with vitiligo I cannot believe this isn't already a thing give me my beautiful space son who's fLipping out because the foundation he had on him leaving earth isn't going to last forever and he really really doesn't want the team to know about anything that will make him different and mark him as a freak like everyone has always said
AHHHH I literally screamed when I saw this.
Thank you <3
I sorta went a different way with this. Sorry!
“Stop. It. You can’t cry right now.” Lance inhaled as much oxygen as he could before his lungs hitched and he coughed it out.
“If you cry the foundation will wear off. So knock it off.” Lance ran his shaking hands through his hair. He didn’t know if he was talking to vent or help himself but he wish he would stop babbling like some teenage girl.
Lance sat down on the edge of the bathtub glaring at the water. Shiro told them to wash up, but how could he wash away the only thing that is keeping him normal. Lance wanted to take a bath he really did. He wanted to try out the Altean soaps and face masks. He wanted to treat himself™ just like he would at the Garrison. Maybe Allura has some makeup, we have similar skin tones. Lance stood up and marched out of his room, he needed to find the princess.
-
“Princess?” Lance hesitantly knocked on her bedroom door.
“Yes Lance? Why aren’t you out of armor yet? Shiro told you to wash up.” Allura stood up from her where she was perched on her bed.
“I kn-know. But I have a question for you.” Lance hugged his body, praying his sweat didn’t ruin the foundation anymore than what it was.
“Well what is it?” Allura gestured for Lance to enter her room and he awkwardly stood in the middle of it while she sat on the edge of her bed.
“Do Alteans have makeup?” Lance’s voice was so small it made him feel 5.
“Makeup? Well of course!” Allura jumped up from her seat. “We have a lot of different kinds.” She smiled at him, hoping to relieve his stiff posture.
“Do you have foundation to match my skin tone.” Lance gestured to his face.
Allura stood up and placed her hand on his face, pretending she didn’t feel him flinch. “I think we do, mine might not work since it was made especially for me however,” Allura grabbed a small scanner off her desk and made her way back over to the boy, “this scanner will give us the number and type we need to match your skin perfectly.”
She gently grabbed his hand and placed his finger under the scanner. It flashed a purple light for a few seconds before it beeped green and produced a small chip.
Allura grabbed the chip “Now I’ll put this in a machine and it will have it made by the time you are done cleaning up.”
Lance released a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. “Can I get it sooner?”
“Why do you need it so soon?” Allura chuckled a little bit.
“I just need it that’s all.” Lance said a bit quietly, too quiet for Alluras liking.
“Once it’s done I’ll drop it off at your room. Okay?” Allura gently said.
“Okay.”
“Now go clean up.” And Lance left.
-
Lance sunk down into the tub, letting the water surround him. He slowly submerged himself completely under water and let his mind wander.
Ugly, Freak, Weirdo, Whats wrong with your face?
 Lance could still hear the kids voices like they said them yesterday. He could still remember the snickers he heard behind his back. He could remember how teachers would look at him sympathetically. He could still feel the shoves from the kids when he asked to play with them. He remembered crying to his mama asking why this happened to him. He remembered his sister teaching him how to do makeup and attempting too help his confidence. Sadly he was only confident with 3 different layers of makeup plastered on his face and arms.
Lance rose his head from the water and touched his face and smeared the makeup off his face. He drained the water, stood up, turned on the shower and started scrubbing his arms and face.
What would the team think? He wasn’t normal. He was a freak.
He watched the water drain down, taking the brown makeup with it. After the water cleared he turned of the shower and dried off.
Lance put on his pants and started to sort through the different Altean supplies. He found something that resembled lavender and started to apply it to his face. He attempted not to stare at the different color patches that scattered his face. He moved down to his arms, where it only started happening a year prior. He dropped the container when he saw a small patch forming on his stomach.
“Fuck.” Lance leaned over the sink, not even trying to stop his tears.
“Why, why, why.” Lance grabbed his hair. He was about to get back into the tub when Allura knocked on his bathroom door.
“Lance! It’s done~” Allura seem to sing.
“Ca-Can you ju-just leave it out-outside my door?” Lance nearly punched himself for his voice cracking.
“Are you alright Lance?” Allura asked, curiosity and concern plaguing her voice.
“Yes.”
“No you’re, not….I hope you’re decent because I’m coming in.” Before Lance could react the bathroom door was opening and he was face to face with Allura who was holding a bottle.
Allura opened and closed her mouth and Lance grabbed a towel and wrapped his torso up in it, happy that he was wearing pants.
After a few moments of unbearable silence Lance bit out “Go on laugh, I don’t care. Just leave the bottle and go.”
“Lance.” Allura gently grabbed the towel  from Lance and brought his face closer. “I would never laugh a you for something like this.” She opened the bottle and put a few drops of the liquid on Lances face and started to rub it in.
Lance stared at Allura as she continued to apply the makeup on Lance. “What?” She asked.
“Why are you being so nice?” Lance mumbled out.
“Why wouldn’t I be nice? You can’t help this,” she gestured towards his arms. “Plus this doesn’t changed anything about you. I’ll even keep it a secret from the team if you need.”
Lance started crying again and Allura hugged him. She gently ran her fingers through his hair.
Lance hugged her back. “Do you think the team will judge me?”
“They would never.” Allura softly said.
“Should I tell them?”
“Only if you want.”
“Will you help me?”
“Of course. Now lets get you ready for dinner.”
Lance smiled and started to distract himself from the voices of the kids that echoed in his mind.
Happy Ending! I think?
Thank you for this!!
Top 6 Apps for Learning Mandarin Chinese
Last summer, while I was supposed to be studying French intensively, I accidentally started studying Mandarin instead. These things happen! The best thing about Mandarin compared to some other languages I’ve studied (specifically Persian and Korean) is that there are a huge number of resources available to help learners, including a lot of very well-designed apps. After months of obsessively checking the iTunes store for the best apps and trying them out, these are my favorite six (plus a few more worth mentioning). They appear in ascending order from my least favorite to my most favorite.
Worth mentioning: A couple of apps not included on this list but worth mentioning are Pleco and Skritter.
Pleco is a highly-regarded Chinese dictionary. I have it on my phone and do use it, but I left it off the list because I prefer another (#6 on this list). Since I’m still very much a beginner, a thorough dictionary isn’t quite so important to me right now. However, it seems like every advanced student of Mandarin recommends this app, so I had to include it.
Skritter is another app that’s highly regarded among serious students. I believe it focuses on helping with character recognition and writing. It has a subscription service that is a bit expensive, which is why I’ve never tried it; however, everyone seems to rave about it. If you’re a serious student, you should definitely look into it.
Also, I recommend downloading some Chinese-language apps designed for preschoolers. I found several of them online in the iTunes store, and a lot of them include short stories with simple words, practice with basic characters, etc. Using these apps gives you some immersive listening practice, which is fun. They can be kind of hit and miss, so I recommend downloading all you can find and seeing what you can figure out and what you like. They won’t replace any of the apps below, but they still serve a purpose.
6. WCC Dictionary This is the dictionary I use instead of Pleco. I like it primarily because of its beautiful design (something Pleco doesn’t really have). This app is mainly a dictionary, but it offers a lot more than that. For example, it has a character scanner (so you can look up words you find in books by taking a picture of the character). It also has a “story library” with a few simple books to read (with Pinyin, the characters, an English translation, and the ability to listen to the story being read). Characters are color coded if you use that as a device to help you with tones. It has a flashcard program with pre-created word lists, extensive example sentences, a section on radicals with example words, and stroke order animations. It also offers a “character of the day” and daily “homework” to motivate you to use what you learn. The dictionary itself is free, but there’s a lot of content that you have to pay to unlock, although there’s also a way to buy the content using “coins” that you earn through using the app.
5. Mindsnacks Mandarin A lot of you are already familiar with the Mindsnacks app because it’s offered for a lot of different languages (and a few school subjects like geography). This app uses games to teach Mandarin, mostly focusing on vocabulary (not grammar or sentence construction). It’s a bit limited, but it can be a really fun way to learn. After a while, the games start to feel repetitive and can get boring, but the app also has you move through levels (which allow you to unlock new games) and uses other incentives to keep you playing. The audio is an actual human, too, which is a big benefit since many apps and programs rely on Google Translate robot voices. This is a paid app, which could be a drawback.
4. FluentU This app is the reason I started learning Mandarin in the first place. I tried using it for French, but I felt like my French was too advanced to gain much from it. Even though there were advanced-level videos with vocabulary I didn’t know, FluentU doesn’t do a good job of adapting to your level and guessing which words will give you trouble. That’s perfectly fine for a beginner, though, since every word will probably give you trouble, which is why I used it for Mandarin. I think the makers of FluentU are Chinese speakers, and they seem to have focused more on Mandarin in their app. They have a built-in course you can follow, using videos they made themselves for teaching the language. The videos are pretty good, and you will feel like you’re learning a lot. There are also a lot of other videos if you want to branch out, including some catchy songs and clips from commercials or TV shows. The built-in flashcard system is a good way to review, but there’s no way to adjust their algorithms, so you might end up reviewing the same words way too often. I stopped using the program when I had 400+ words to review every day, and I just couldn’t keep up and continue advancing. This app is also very limited in the free version, and the paid subscription is VERY pricey, in my opinion, especially considering that there are other apps out there that offer more features. All of the videos are on YouTube anyway, so you can still use them to learn as you advance (or if you have a friend who can help you). I recommend this app if you want to pay for one month and use it to study intensively and advance quickly. That’s what I did, and I think it helped me out a lot.
3. ChineseSkill This is the first app that was designed to be a “Duolingo for Mandarin,” and it has a lot of great features. There’s the typical “tree” like in Duolingo, where you advance through different lessons one by one. It teaches character recognition, pronunciation, and grammar. The lessons can be really challenging for a beginner (sometimes too challenging, I thought), but it covers a lot of material. I’m not completely happy with the order in which lessons are taught (for example, there’s a lesson on shapes near the beginning that has you learn words like “triangle,” which seemed unimportant to me). The other drawback is there isn’t an easy way to review what you’ve learned (like on Duolingo when your gold-level lessons start to fade). It’s possible, but not super easy to access. Other interesting features include a tone game, a pinyin chart, a “survival kit” that’s like a travel phrasebook, and practice with stroke order. Also, this app is 100% free, which is amazing! I definitely recommend this app.
2. Social Language This app is really different from the others and is probably the most useful if you believe in speaking a language as soon as possible. I don’t think a lot of English speakers know about it because it seems to be marketed mostly to Chinese speakers. It’s a bit hard to explain, but I’ll try my best: basically, there’s a tree like you have for Duolingo, but the exercises are all to improve your speaking and pronunciation. You work through the lessons, and Chinese-speaking users rate and comment on your recordings. They can even leave voice messages to help you improve. You can do the same for them (in fact, you have to if you want to unlock higher levels). That alone makes the app worth downloading, but even better is that it includes a CHAT FEATURE that makes it very easy to interact with native speakers. You can see the profiles of hundreds of Chinese speakers who are online at any given time of day, and you can send a text or voice message to them and later add them to your friends’ list. What’s more,the ratio of Chinese to English speakers heavily favors English speakers. You will find hundreds of Chinese speakers eager to practice their English, and often you will be one of only a handful of English speakers on the app, meaning you have instant access to a chat partner any time of day or night. Have a question about your homework, something you read, or a phrase you don’t know how to pronounce? Instant, free tutoring is available 24/7 on this app, which is also FREE! I met some really nice people here without the pressure of a more formal language exchange. You can have a casual conversation any time you want, and it’s like text messaging so there’s less pressure if you’re shy about speaking Chinese. The only drawback is the same as with all language exchanges, which is that it’s sometimes difficult to balance the two languages. Also, I had problems with sending voice messages in chat, which can be frustrating. Overall, though, I’d say Social Language is a must-have.
1. HelloChinese This app didn’t exist last summer when I was looking for a Mandarin version of Duolingo, but I discovered it last week and fell in love with it. It actually has fewer features than ChineseSkill, but the pacing seems much better, and it focuses more heavily on pronunciation (though the speech recognition software isn’t perfect and you will sometimes need to skip a speaking question just to keep moving forward). It comes with some good grammar explanations and a really basic flashcard program for review. Honestly, I feel bad for rating it higher than ChineseSkill since ChineseSkill has been around longer and offers a lot more features, but I feel like HelloChinese just makes more sense and is easier to stick with than ChineseSkill. Like ChineseSkill, it’s also 100% free! I consider HelloChinese to be my “core” app for casual study, with the other apps acting as supplements. If you’re a more serious student, HelloChinese might not be your #1 pick, but it’s great for beginners who like the structure of an app like DuoLingo.
Normal place, 8pm – [Y/N]’ That’s what you had sent to the number you thought was your best friend’s new one, but turns out, it was actually the number of the best thing that had ever happened to you.
You’d gotten the number from her that morning, where you always met up before the day started. She brought the coffee and you just managed to bring yourself. Morning people, right?
“M’lady, your usual.” She winked at you, handing you the warm cup. Muttering a thank you, you hid your face further in your black and green striped scarf from the bitter winter wind. Whilst you were concentrating on the icy sidewalk, she handed you a strip of paper and rabbited on about a new phone. Nodding slowly, and shoved it in your pocket and didn’t think about it again until the evening. Even then you forgot, and tried texting her old phone number.
Deep under New York City, laid the sewage system where 4 familiar heroes and their father lived. As of right then however, our beloved paladins hadn’t any major crimes to worry about, and so they worked on their hobbies. Donnie’s being electrical work and making innovated creations from scratch. These new phones he had made for him and his brother could connect to any device in the world, including new smartphones like an iPhone or Samsung. Using an old SIM card he found in a trashcan, he developed it even farther; taking the limits further than any human mind ever was able to.
That night he tested it, texting back and forth between the two other phones, jumping from roof to roof and placing the phones in different areas to test the connection rate. It was so exciting for him; he could feel his heard pounding in his chest as every test passed again and again with flying colors. His heart only stopped though when he got a message on his own phone, from a number he hadn’t imputed.
Normal place, 8pm – [Y/N].
He couldn’t comprehend. Whoevers SIM this was previously hadn’t updated their contacts on their new number, clearly. For science (to see if the message would send back) he texted back.
‘I’m afraid you have the wrong number.’ It was simple, short, but he got a reply instantly, the tone making him jump as the phone fumbled in his hands.
Oh yh, sorry about that’ Smiling slightly, he stared down at the screen as he watched his thumbs tap a reply slowly. Was he really doing this?
‘No problem, it was the highlight of my evening.’ A small smile curled at his lips. The fear that the person would ignore him grew every second, but it vanished when he heard the ping.
‘You must have an extremely boring life.’ He chuckled, pushing his glasses up as he tapped away a reply, all the while making his way home.
You continued texting this random person, whose name you learnt was Donatello, Donnie for short, and it was also the highlight of your evening. Even though it had only been a few hours. When you texted your friend, she told you that she had to study for a math test, which left you quite lonesome, but texting Donnie made up for that, until you got an idea.
‘You live in New York City, right?’
‘Yes… Should I be worried that you brought that up?’ You chuckled, staring at the phone. What if he wasn’t what he made himself out to be?
‘Would you like to meet up?’
Donnie felt his heart stop and his throat run dry. How could he meet up with her? Instead of replying, he set his phone on the desk in front of him, going to grab a drink of water.
Unfortunately, Donnie hadn’t remembered to lock his phone away from prying eyes, and Mikey was itching to see who his older brother had been texting for the past 3 hours.
When he saw the name, and the conversation he was shocked. How come his brother got so lucky? To find a pen pal; Mikey had stared at his new phone all night since Donnie had given them to them, trying to get April to pay the slightest bit of attention to him (she was working a night shift) but Donnie had been getting all this attention, and he didn’t even seem the slightest bit excited about meeting this person.
‘Sure. Johnny’s Pizza Place in 20 minutes’
“Mikey, what’re you-” Mikey rushed past his brother, barging into him in the process. Before Donnie could shout to him, he was long gone. And then he realized why when he saw the text back.
‘Sure! Can’t wait to see you :)
You were excited to say the least, and he’d asked to meet up in a public place, so that must be a good plan right? You changed out of pajamas into a nice outfit, smoothing it out before rushing out of the door. Getting there was easy, but staying in one place was hard. You paced quickly, biting your nails and wondering whether what you were doing was a good idea.
Mikey had gotten there in no time, Donnie behind him yelling curses at him. He wasn’t the swearing type, but this made his blood boil. Now he knew how Raph felt.
Speaking of which, the 2 older brothers had raced off after them, wondering what was actually going on. Curiosity got the better of them.
You waited and waited and you were beginning to lose hope, until you heard two voices in the alley next to the pizza place, one a little more conversant than the other.
“Donnie?” you called out, and you could literally feel the two voices freeze as you stood at the end of the alley. There were two large figures, both pushing and nudging each other to stop talking. Maybe this was a bad idea. “Come into the light?”
The two voices muttered to each other, which followed by two more thuds.
“Please? I won’t bite…” you mumbled jokingly, scratching the back of your neck. Slowly, the now four figures got closer, the tallest at the front, before he stopped.
“L-listen… [Y/N], don’t freak out. Please…” Smiling you stepped forward. Taking that as an answer, Donnie also stepped forward, his glasses glimmering first before he was completely on show under the single street lamp in the alley. For a while, neither of you said anything, until three more turtle mutants came up behind him. All four shared the same air of nervousness.
“Well, I can deal with one, but I’m not into polygamy guys.”
It was around 3am when you woke up in a cold sweat. Your body was drenched and to make matters worse Baekhyun was sleeping right next to you.
He was facing the wall so you couldn’t see his face. You’ve learned that over the years Baekhyun had been a deep sleeper. With the way his chest rose and fell he definitely was out cold.
Different Side of Me
You smoothed your hands over the fancy dress you wore, double-checking how you looked in the large mirror your boyfriend bought last year. Speaking of him, you heard him calling out for you.
“Y/N! Are you ready to go?” His head popped out from the doorway, his eyes immediately going towards where you were in your shared bedroom.
You breathed deeply and smiled tightly, “Yeah, Spence. Let’s go.”
You and Spencer Reid, your boyfriend of nearly two years, were going to meet your parents for dinner at a five-star restaurant they chose. This would be Spencer’s first time meeting your parents because you never really got along with them and you were incredibly nervous about how it would go.
Spencer, sensing your distress, reached his hand out for yours as you walked out of the apartment and towards your car, squeezing it before rubbing circles on the top of your hand with his thumb.
As you both settled in the car, you took another deep breath, flipping the visor down in the car so you could check your makeup once again.
“Y/N,” Spencer chuckled, “you look beautiful. Stop worrying, you’re psyching yourself out and that’s just going to project negative scenarios in your head. It’ll be fine, okay?”
You sent him a smile, “You don’t know what my parents are like.”
He looked at you once more before turning his attention to backing the car out of the spot it’s in. “If you love me, they’ve got to at least tolerate me, right? You and your parents share similarities, not just DNA, but mannerisms and other traits, so statistically, they must have to like me somewhat.”
Spencer was pleased with his deduction, but you knew the truth.
You were nothing like your parents, behavior wise. They were incredibly judgmental, hateful, snobby people who kept you on such a tight leash all throughout your childhood and teen years that you vowed to be nothing like them when you moved out. You kept up with your promise all these years, but they got worse with age, you were able to tell from the weekly phone calls your mother made sure to implement.
They were still trying to control you, even in your adulthood. Which is why it wasn’t surprising when they demanded to meet Spencer, and then chose what date, what time, and where. Spencer was okay with it all, as he was just excited to finally meet the people who raised the girl he loved. But you knew the night would end in emotional disaster. It always did.
Before you knew it, you guys had made it to the restaurant and were quickly escorted in while the valet parker parked your vehicle.
You held your breath while stepping in, with Spencer letting the hostess know the name of your party—Y/L/N.
“Of course, right this way. They’ve ordered already as they’ve been here for twenty minutes, but I’ll get someone right out to take your orders,” the pretty hostess smiled at you both as she led you to the table your parents were at.
Twenty minutes? You couldn’t believe it. You made sure you and Spencer got here ten minutes early. It was barely 7:20 and you knew for a fact that your mother told you 7:30 pm.
As you were thinking this, you and Spencer had arrived at the table. The hostess smiled once more and wished you all a good time before leaving.
“Mom, Dad. You guys said 7:30, the hostess told us you had already been waiting twenty minutes?”
Your father tsk-ed, “C’mon, now, Y/N. First time seeing us since the holidays, and the first time we’re meeting your boyfriend, and the first thing you say to us is an issue with the time?”
You bit back a comment and forced a smile on your face, “This is Spencer Reid, you guys. He works for the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI as a profiler. Spencer, these are my parents, Y/M/N and Y/D/N.”
Your father stood up and reached a hand out towards Spencer, “Nice to meet you.”
Spencer glanced at you briefly before opening his mouth, “I, uh, don’t actually shake hands. The amount of pathogens passed is astounding. It’s actually safer to kiss, you know.”
Your father’s hand was still extended for an awkward moment before he and your mom exchanged a look and he sat back down in his seat next to her. You and Spencer sat down in the seats across from theirs and quickly opened your menus.
As you and he were perusing the options, your mom cleared her throat. “So, Spencer. What is it you do exactly for the FBI?”
At the mention of his name, Spencer set the menu down and looked up. “Well, I’m part of a team that analyzes crime scenes and unknown subjects in an attempt to help police catch them before they commit another crime.”
Your father cocked his head to the side slightly, “so you study criminals?”
Hearing the judgmental tone that you’ve become so accustomed to, you broke in. “Spencer’s amazing at his job. He has 3 Ph.D’s, actually. He’s a genius and saves lives.”
“I’m sure,” your mother said, raising her eyebrow at you.
“Well, what about you, Y/N? How’s your job going for you?” your father asked.
“It’s great. I just got another client, actually.” You were a book editor and absolutely loved your job. Your parents, however…
“It still astounds me that you took such a trivial job. You had so much potential, Y/N. You did amazing in science, you could have become something so much more useful,” your father said.
“He’s right. There’s still time for you to change your mind, you know. Your father’s company is hiring and if you take some college classes or start going for an engineering degree, you’d be sure to find a better paying job there.” Your mother offered.
You didn’t even bother putting a polite smile on your face. “We’ve been over this. I don’t want to be an engineer or go back to school. I’m happy with my job and I’m tired of arguing with you about this. Can we just not right now? You guys are here to meet Spencer.”
You glanced over at your boyfriend, when speaking his name, and could see the confusion and frustration in his eyes.
“We spent so much money sending you to the best private schools and paying for your college education, and this is how you repay us? You won’t even entertain the thought of—“
You cut your mother off, “First off, I’m paying you guys back for my college education. Second off, I don’t have to entertain any thoughts. Stop trying to control me, you don’t have any power over me. I’m my own person and an adult and you both need to accept it. Okay?” You finished your rant with a sharp tone and looked at your parents with disdain.
Your parents exchanged another look before starting yet again.
The waiter hadn’t even come by to take your and Spencer’s order yet and this was the third time your parents were going to try and insult your profession. You were just glad they weren’t going after Spencer. You understood why, though. They didn’t care about him. They just wanted to make sure you knew what they thought of you and how they felt you failed them.
Your mother opened her mouth, “I just don’t understand, Y/N. You could be so much more and do so much better. How are you content with your life?”
“What?” Spencer cut in, his rage clear on his face.
“This doesn’t concern you, Sam,” your father announced.
“This does concern me. Y/N is my girlfriend, the love of my life, and her feelings are important to me. How could you both sit there, insulting her career and putting her down? She’s worked so hard to get where she is. She’s a senior editor at one of the best publishing houses here. She confers on textbooks, fiction, non-fiction, everything because she’s that good at her job. She’s incredibly intelligent and passionate about her work. She’s generous and kind and everything you two seem to be lacking. She’s able to brighten up any room she walks into. I’ve never met anyone like her in my life and doubt I ever will. She’s unique and loving and caring and selfless. I stupidly thought you two and her must have shared some personality and behavioral traits, but now I’m glad I was wrong. You should feel ashamed of yourself for putting Y/N down. She’s just—she’s magnificent and if you can’t see that, then it’s your loss and I’m sorry you both will never realize how charming and wonderful she is.” Spencer finished his spiel with disgust and anger still coloring his face.
“And for your information, my name is Spencer, “ he added, before turning to you. “Would you like to stay or go home?”
You looked over at your parents, the pair of them shocked at Spencer’s outburst. “Home,” you smiled, the first genuine one of the night. “Home sounds amazing.”
He reached for your hand as the pair of you stood up and walked out, without another word to your parents.
As you made your way inside the car, you glanced at him. “Thank you, for all of that back there.”
Spencer looked confusedly at you, “Y/N. Don’t thank me for that. I’m sorry I didn’t believe you or take your words for truth when you said you didn’t get along with them well. I’m also sorry you had to live your whole life with them. I love you so much, and I meant every single word I said back there. They don’t deserve to have you in their lives if they won’t appreciate you like you deserve to be.”
You were overcome with such strong emotions that this beautiful man in front of you would defend you so easily, you didn’t know what to do. You settled for leaning over and kissing him. He placed a hand on your face, angling you deeper into him.
You pulled back slightly, letting your forehead rest against his. “It was pretty hot seeing you so riled up, though.”
Spencer laughed, “your family brings out a different side of me, what can I say?“
Husband!Minghao
  • The Best Friend™ Husband
  • he loves you but you can sure as hell bet that he’s always ready to go for the drag
  • don’t get me wrong, Minghao definitely has a romantic side with his wife and he’s probably adorable when you were still his girlfriend but when girlfriend turns into wife… well people get comfortable and you two go from
  • Him: “Oh do you want to order mint ice cream and share?”
  • You who hates mint ice cream: “Yeah..!”
  • to
  • “Why do you always buy mint ice cream, you know I hate it” “Its the only thing i can love in peace, you finish everything else”
Thoughts on He Like That mv
This is what I’m talking about. You can do a non-concept video and still make it not boring.
Down, while it was cute and had stunning color palette, was pretty much a downer because it was boring and empty.
Angel, infinitely better than Down, and with cool visuals and experimental vibe, still failed to excite me. Because it was just beauty shots from start to finish.
Finally, with He Like That, despite it being another PWP (Plot, What Plot?) mv, I totally loved it, and, no, it’s not because the video was sizzling sexy (although I’m not against it lol)… Now let me tell you why.
• there are other people, which fills up the shot, which automatically tricks our minds to believe that it’s not boring. The more stuff there is in a frame, the more our eyes would be stimulated and excite our visual senses. It’s not just them anymore, our eyes aren’t focused on one thing anymore. Which should be a good thing for 3-4 minute music videos without a story.
• cool backdrops and set design.
• most importantly, they’re finally playing off on each girl’s strengths. This video is highly individualized as much as it is a group thing, because they gave each girl their own screen time, and they did choreo according to each girl’s capabilities! 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Norminah (my favorite part of the video) had the most complex dance choreo because they’re the strongest dancers in the group. they both had routines together and solo, and they absolutely carried the mv. They slayed it 💯👌🏼.
Lauren, (I had seizure just looking at her, I swear) is, as always, Lauren. She’s there to massacre heterosexuality. And she did it using her incredibly toned abs and thighs, and the most amazing emerald eyes in the world. 😂 she slayed too lol.
And thank god they did Ally justice! The simplicity of her choreo, plus the use of wide shots and close ups of the camera was 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼. They used wide shots when she’s doing her routine, and alternated it with slo-mo and close-ups to mask the fact that she’s not really doing anything complicated like Norminah, but they made it look like she is slaying. It worked really well.
In conclusion, this video is a 10/10 for me, not because it’s a “super awesome great revolutionary mv”, but simply because it hit all the right spots and it served its purpose. It’s a good visual mv. It’s not boring because they were actually doing something this time, and it’s not predictable because they’re just not standing there smiling or kicking the sand. There’s interaction and there’s movement.
Of course, in their next single, I wanna see a different video. Something with a story and more heart. But for HLT, I think this video is perfect for the lyrics and sound.
And I think we’ll get that one day. Hopefully for DSYLM or Bridges or Messy. I would love for Lonely Night to be a single as well.
SIDE NOTE (this is only for the haters, who I see dropping comments everywhere how much 5H is trash): I don’t want to see shit about 5h being sluts and all that stupidity okay? If you don’t like the video or what they’re doing, move the fuck on and Stan other wholesome artists. Don’t go to my ASKS or comment in here slutshaming them or telling me you don’t like it. It’s okay if you didn’t like the video and the song, because that’s just a matter of preference. That’s totally okay, we all have different tastes, and I would be happy to talk about music with you. I didn’t like the chorus before, but now I do.
BUT, if you come in here and say you didn’t like it simply because the girls are “sluts”? Get the fuck outta here because I don’t need people dragging girls simply because they’re comfortable in their own skin and are confident with their sexuality. Beyoncé and Rihanna did it, the girls have every right to be as sensual and sexual all they want, as well.
I can understand if your values are against women being sexual, I really do, especially if you grew up in a sheltered upbringing (I did too. A religious and a conservative society), but please try to expand your understanding that just because you don’t approve of it makes 5h sluts in a bad way. We can discuss more about feminism in this patriarchal society. But if you’re here to hate for the sake of hating, if you’re here calling 5h sluts because you think it validates your own idols, if you’re here slutshaming 5h simply because you can’t find any other insults to hurl at them, then girl bye. Don’t invalidate a woman’s choice to flaunt their sexuality just because other women/artists don’t. To each her own. We all have different choices and ways to live. Stop being a hater.
It’s 2017. It’s high time we all stop acting like women can’t celebrate her own skin and femininity. Any woman could be as sexual as they want as long as they own it, as long as they have control over it. Don’t be a part of a backward movement that suppresses female expression, for the most hypocritical reasons.
If you don’t like this era, or if your “moral sensitivities” get offended by this new 5h, please just stan someone else. There are hundreds of artists out there, go spend your energies some place else instead of spreading hate and negativity in this fandom.
I hope that you enjoy what I’ve come up with, it took me all morning write it! Thank you for your request! <3 - Kat
Thorin x Reader.
Note: When Thorin finds out that his wife (you) is with child, he is over the moon! However, she only wishes for simplicity and not all of the commotion of celebrations. One day it grows too much for her and Thorin begins to understand that maybe he went over the top with his celebrations. The reader also learns the reasons for Thorin’s intense merriment. ( Shitty caption of the whole imagine, so forgive me! Read to find out more, I suppose, lovelies! ) AU WHERE EVERYONE LIVES.
Word count2,287 ( Don’t mind the length, haha! )
Warning’s: Reader has panic attack because of the attention and stress going on. Slight protective Thorin. Fili and Kili (I know that’s not at all a warning, but just letting you know). Happy Thorin. Cute Thorin. Fluff! Lot’s and lot’s of fluff. (If I have missed anything at all them just let me know!)
Disclaimer: I do not own Thorin, Fili, Kili or the company or any other character from lotr or the hobbit: Tolkien does!
Fatigued and weary, you lay there as Oin examined your condition. You felt entirely distressed and flustered as Oin examined the most intimate area your body possessed. “And?” Thorin pried for an answer that Oin himself did not know the answer to, just yet. “Is she or is she not?!” Thorin’s gruff voice was accompanied by impatient sapphire orbs.
Thorin!” you warned, rising and leaning back upon your elbows, shooting him an uncomfortable and angry glower. “Let him do his job!” you growled, irritable as ever. This was a scene from a nightmare!
“I need to kno-” you cut him short with a risen hand, your expression showing signs of intense displeasure.
“I would also like to know, but dear Oin has to do his job.” you argued wisely. “Besides, this is definitely not my idea of spending an afternoon!” and to that you flop onto your back, face red at your blunt honesty as Oin peeked up at you.
Thorin had not considered pondering upon how you felt about having someone examine you. After all, it had been his idea once he had found out about your morning sickness, to which you had replied with: “It’s probably just a bug! Nothing more.” but even so, you were wound up to get stuck in Oin’s healing chambers and get examined for nearly everything. You were the Queen of Erebor, for goodness sake!
“There!” Oin sighed, pulling back slowly, a smile curling and stretching upon his face, drawing the quilt over your lower half. Thorin stepped forward off of the wall, his full attention upon the matter, eyes flickering from you to Oin.
“Well?” he pried once again, tone lighter, trying for your sake of this.
“All of the signs are there, she has answered all of the questions in which I asked, correctly. She’s definitely with child.” Oin smiled brightly. “Congratulations!” he beamed, bowed his head to you and his King before scurrying off to allow the two of you a moment of peace.
“I cannot believe it!” Thorin exclaimed, bounding around to your side of the bed and flopping heftily upon the cot, causing it to creak and you to jostle. You let out an exasperated sigh, a huff being thrown from your lips at the impact of Thorin sitting down. “I could not have pictured a better time to be told such merry news!” his smile was intoxicating, contagious and your displeasure of having Oin’s examination suddenly flew right out of the door. You smiled softly.
“So, is the king happy?” you inquired, standing up, fixing on your clothing.
“Of course!” he breathed, watching you with nothing more than exhilaration within his complexion: And somehow Thorin appeared a hundred years younger in that moment.
“Good, I am glad. Though, if I am allowed to be honest for a moment.” you speak quietly and quickly, pulling your hair up and over one shoulder. “I wish for this to not be blown out of proportion.” you began to which Thorin rose slowly, face back to it’s stony expression.
“Blown out of proportion? Are you saying that the news of the Queen baring my child is not of news to be celebrated?” he accused and you sighed.
“No! I am not saying such things! What I mean is: I wish for you not to boast about it to everybody that you see.” you fire back irritably, folding your arms.
“But isn’t that the best part?” Thorin’s smile curled into a large grin, reminding you of Kili.
“Yes, it is indeed, but I know that you’d go to the ends of this earth and scream it out loud! Be a bit more sensible: Tell people, but do not boast. I have enough attention on me by just being the Queen, being your wife: I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing, but all of this attention is still very new to me.” you wisely state.
You should have known better.
Spring Day [1]
Summary: Jimin and you were best friends since you were little kids, never leaving each other’s side, but one rainy day of spring you left him, asking him to forget about you. You were trying to protect him from yourself, but he didn’t know that. What will happen if fate got you two back together?
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5
Jimin’s pov
“But (Y/N) they won’t stop laughing at me” I told (Y/N) as I cried on her shoulder, one of her little hands going up and down my back, while the other was playing with my black hair. “They keep saying I’m too short and chubby and they don’t want to play football with me, ever.” I sobbed trying to wipe away my tears with my hand, but she soon replaced them with her own, sending a hot shook down my spine with every movement her fingers made on my cheek.
“Hey, Chimchim, I can play football with you, if you teach me, then we will for sure kick their ass, and now for your height and your “chubbiness”, which I don’t see by the way, I think you’re perfect and cute and don’t let them tell you other-wise, ok?” Even though that was a way to calm me down, those few words made me stronger. She always cared about me and helped me through everything. She was my little angel, I loved her.
(Flash forward)
“(Y/N)! Why? Please just tell me you will talk to me, that we will see each other again, I just need to hear that” I yelled at her soaked figure, resulting from the rain. She was leaving me, she saved me and now she’s breaking me apart, after almost 12 years of friendship.
She didn’t move but I noticed she was crying even if we were meters apart. She slowly looked to the ground and after a while locking eyes with me again.
“I’m sorry, I truly am. But I am doing this for a reason. Be happy, Jimin, you deserve it, you deserve to live a beautiful life, so do you a favor and, please, don’t try to contact me or find me in any way. Forget about me Jimin. That’s the only thing I ask you.” She said not even waiting for a response as she run away from me. Once I got back to reality I started running to her.
I run for what it seemed as hours, until a loud honk stopped me as I found myself in the middle of the road in a red light.
I woke up sweeting and crying. I looked to my side and saw my alarm clocked. 3am.
“Ten more minutes,” Alex pressed, trying to grab Kara’s arm as she walked towards the DEO landing-pad, but Kara shrugged her off easily, too intent on her aim. “Kara, please!”
“I’m fine, Alex. I just need some air.” It was only half true. Physically she hadn’t taken any damage in that last fight, but her emotions were still spinning and ‘air’ wasn’t what she was after.
The alien himself hadn’t been anything special, just another remnant of Fort Rozz with a grudge against her mother, but he had clearly spent enough time with Kryptonians to perfect the language. His taunts in her native tongue had been painful, cutting in a way that his claws and teeth could not, and when he had spoken the name of her house, Kara’s control had cracked. Technically, there was nothing wrong with his pronunciation, but the disdain that had colored his words had been all his own, and it had been unacceptable.
[REVIEW] EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE BUYING
CUBE I7 STYLUS
Cube i7 Stylus is a 10” Windows 10 tablet that I just bought for portable light sketching and painting purpose. It’s affordable with the price tag of $300. There are many things I like about this product while it has MANY, MAJOR FLAWS. Here I will report everything I discovered so far.
1) DISPLAY
  • IPS type panel with wide view angle. Standard-gamut with horrible color space coverage of 67% sRGB, 46% AdobeRGB. Cuts off around the far ends of green, blue, purple and red areas. Not so much for yellow and orange.
  • Very bright backlight. 400cd/m^2 at max. No flicker at low brightness level. 120 cd/m^2 is at about 30%.
  • White point 6600K, decent but still cooler than ideal.
  • Tone Response Curves look very good. Almost dead straight.
  • Average deltaE is merely 0.17. This is kinda amazing, it explains the straight TRC performance described above. Despite its small color space coverage, whatever it can display, it displays them super accurately. You don’t really need to calibrate it. As a result, it produces not rich, but very clean color, leaving me the impression of Microsoft Surface Pro 4, even though the SP4s have nearly perfect screens. You might want to be careful not to use extremely saturated color when drawing, because it cannot reflect those.
  • It’s glossy, super reflective!
2) PEN & TOUCH
  • Wacom Penabled display. The same technology of the old Cintiq line. Compatible with a zoo of weird pens!
  • Original stylus has 1 side switch. I use my Cintiq 18SX’s 2 switch stylus (THE BEST OF ALL. Model: UP911E-02DD, available on Amazon.).
  • Original stylus has 1024 level pressure sensitivity. My trusty 18SX stylus has 512, but you won’t tell the differences. They both worked well enough.
  • The display surface is a bit slippery. Use Wacom felt pen nibs to increase friction.
  • Fujitsu 10 point touchscreen. Works better after the removal of the included screen protector sheet (it has bubbles under it -_-). It doesn’t cooperate with Wacom’s stylus – no hard-wired palm rejection. Windows 10 can do this for you – search in Cortana for “Pen Settings”, check “Ignore touch input when I’m using my pen”. To turn it off completely, in Device Manager, disable “HID-compliant touch screen”.
  • GNU/Linux wise, under Ubuntu 16.04.1, 1 of 2 side switches of my 18SX stylus would not function. No dice with xsetwacom and xinput. When stylus and touch both activated at the same time system locks up for a while. I’ve reported this to linuxwacom project.
3) SPEED & STORAGE
  • It call itself i7, but it’s a dirty trick. It actually has Core m3-6Y30, 4GB RAM, HD Graphics 515. I feel no slowdown at all when drawing an A3 300dpi picture in Krita.
  • Foresee 64GB M.2 SSD. It reads like a rabbit and writes like a turtle. Boots up system in a flash, but when Windows 10 is undoing updating itself, you can feel that writing queue is lining up straight to Uranus.
  • Has a MicroSD card slot. Storage space is not an issue.
4) OTHER STUFF
  • 3 hours + under stress running time, at 30% brightness level (120cd/m^2). Lasts forever when browsing webpages. Gets red hot when you are both charging and running 3Dmarks9000 on it.
  • Power adapter not included in the official package list. At least not in China where its produced. Some 3rd party distributors includes one though. DC 12V 3.5x1.35mm jack. Good luck finding that! In China you must give them 5/5 and put up photos on the distributor’s online shop to get an adapter. I scavenged an adapter from a dead router and gave them 2/5. Bastards. (When I was writing this report, they phoned me about sending me one for free anyway.)
  • 1 USB Type-C connector. You may charge it through this connector, but your charger must have 5V2A standard USB power output to do that. QuickCharge(QC) devices and alike are not guaranteed to charge it unless their non-QC, conventional mode can output 2A. Also, it seems to charge only when you plug it in after the machine is booted into the system. If you connect its USB-C before turning it on, it might not boot. USB-C connect does not support startup disk.
  • No documents, no tech support, no drivers on website Not even on the Chinese version. They are serious about national equality here. No. Quickstart Guide does not count as a legit piece of document. The Recovery ISO is hosted on a 3rd party, Chinese equivalent of dropbox as a dodgy .rar file like a p0rn video. Very unprofessional. If you are going to install Windows anew, you’ll need to find your own drivers. (Search for: Intel Driver Update Utility / Wacom Feel Driver / Realtek High Definition Audio Driver)
  • The keyboard is detachable. In tablet mode it feels very light weight to be hold in one hand. Unlike Cintiq 13HD, this one I can use for a long time without having sore in my arms. The keyboard itself is very well made too. The whole frame is cut out from a piece of metal, probably steel. No squeaking sound. Super steady. Very heavy. Holds up the screen nicely. Definitely one of the best in this size.
  • Touch pad has major usability issues. Instead of using software to handle the gestures, it seems to embed the gesture recognition in the hardware and send out keyboard signals when it thinks your movement is a gesture. Very easy to misfire commands like minimize all windows, zoom, swipe and task view. There is no way you can turn it off. Just don’t let your fingers go near its edge.
  • The earphone jack packs a punch. The audio chip is the infamous Realtek ALC283. This crap has no right to drive my Etymotic ER4B loud (you monster!). But it did! At only 25% of the volume, too! Did they bother to put an amp chip in it? It sounds quite musical for a cheap tablet, too! I have to write about this. What a strange breed of product we got here. XD
  • Has 2 cameras, each on both sides. The sensors are OV2680 and OV5648, controlled by intel Imaging Signal Processor 2500. They are absolutely crap. You got nothing but noises. Probably not good enough to provide evidence of a crime scene. :P
  • Audio jack and power adapter jack look exactly the same. I often plug the power adapter connector into the audio jack. Although it doesn’t bring any danger because of the structure, it still makes me like an idiot.
Wow what a piece of crap! But at the end of the day, it’s better than nothing! XD”
Just joking. Despite all those problems, I still love this product. It’s very well built and doesn’t feel cheap at all. Nothing top-notch but all good enough for my target purpose - portable sketching. At the price of $300, I consider my money well spent.
But still, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR NON-TECH ARTISTS. You must know how to deal with its atrocities. Otherwise, YOU GONNA HAVE A BAD TIME, KID.
