# and i get paid to do this

Would you rather do nothing and become filthy rich in a day, or work tirelessly for years and never get paid?

Situation A
(E₁) Effort = 0
(Δp₁) Profit = 100

Situation B
(E₂) Effort = 100
(Δp₂) Profit = 0

Where values for E and Δp are treated as percentages for the sake of this argument and their limits are:
0 ≤ E ≤ 100
0 ≤ Δp ≤ 100

If we use the equation for Work (W = FΔd) as a base to infer our own equivalent bullshit quantities and derive a new comparable equation, we can then use it to solve for Satisfaction.

Work (W) ≈ Satisfaction (S)
Work = The measure of energy that occurs when an object is moved over a distance by a force
Satisfaction = The appreciation of earning something that occurs when a person achieves a profit through an effort

Force (F) ≈ Effort (E)
Force = Energy as an attribute of movement
Effort = Earning as an attribute of achievement

Displacement (Δd) ≈ Profit (Δp)
Displacement = The difference between the final and initial position
Profit = The difference between the final and initial wealth

(W = FΔd) (S = EΔp)
“Work is equal to force times displacement” is approximately equal to “Satisfaction is equal to effort times profit”

Where the limits for S are:
0 ≤ S ≤ 100²

According to this Satisfaction equation: in a worst case scenario low effort and low profit will yield the lowest satisfaction value, greater than or equal to 0; whereas in a best case scenario high effort and high profit will result in the highest magnitude of satisfaction, less than or equal to 10000. Interestingly, when both variables are made inversely proportional to one another the highest satisfaction value that can be reached is only when effort and profit are equal, E = 50 and Δp = 50, and is ¼th the maximum possible satisfaction value attainable in the best case scenario. However, in our particular case, both situations will result in 0 satisfaction since multiplying anything by 0 will always yield 0 product:

Situation A
S₁ = E₁Δp₁ → 0 = (0)(100)

Situation B
S₂ = E₂Δp₂ → 0 = (100)(0)

In conclusion:
You can’t appreciate a reward without earning it through work and you can’t appreciate work done without earning any reward for doing it, therefore:

Situation A = Situation B

So I was working as a cashier at a super market (Buplix) and this young girl's card kept declining. She was getting ready to give up when the guy behind her said "I'll pay for your groceries if you go in a date with me!" Which was creepy as hell and the girl didn't know what to do but the lady BEHIND the man pushed forward and swiped her own card, glaring at the creep the entire time as she paid for the girl's groceries. Fuck customers and thank customers.

Even though it’s the nicest supermarket it still has people. And as I have said. People suck. My local store had two guys fighting in the deli over who got their sub first. The police and ambulance came. It sucked.

I haven't been on this blog for sooooo long, how have you been?

I spent about 20 minutes trying to come up with a #relatable and humorous response to this question but like… I think I’m just going to be honest for a sec??? Because my followers are darlings who’ve always been supportive when I need to vent <3

(Trigger warning for depression, withdrawal, ptsd, and abuse below:)

Any suggestions what we can tweet to BBC to explain to them how rude and dense they are? I can't believe a person is getting paid to write articles and they don't even know how to read.

Hi darling 💕

Well, I just tweeted @BBCmusic the following:

@BBCmusic Reducing Louis’ Just Like You meaning to a #firstworldproblem song is purposely reducing the powerful message of it - do better.

But I could tweet them entire threads. Refer to the video, refer to what Louis himself said about the song, refer to the other articles who did address the message (CelebMix, HuffPo).

Don’t hold back. When people fired back about the BBC Radio 1 pre-interview article, and continuously tweeted Nick about it - it changed the course and content of the interview. We are powerful when we use our voices.

Hey Taylor!

I volunteer at this really cool place called Give Kids the World Village! It’s a place where kids with life threatening illnesses and their whole families get to come for a week, all expenses paid! Free travel, stay, food, theme park tickets to Disney, Universal, & Seaworld! It’s truly amazing the work they do there!!

The village has their own set of characters (like any theme park does) but these characters are only for these kids! Therefore, it’s more personal for them!! I’m friends with this cute little fairy named Stellar!✨She is a star fairy and every kid that comes gets to put there name on a star and Stellar hangs them in her star tower at night when the kids are sleeping & watches over them, even after they’re gone!

Every day is a different holiday at the village, since it could be that child’s last. Stellar is there every Thursday, which is Christmas! There is a Christmas parade then a dance party with all the kids! It even snows! In Florida! It’s truly a magical place!

This is a non-profit organization in association with Make-A-Wish and Disney (to name a few) and it would be pretty cool if you came to host a Christmas party one Thursday night! Lets set it up! These kids would love to see you!! ❤️

# Apologies for the inactivity

Uni life is kinda busy (by busy i mean i go to class for three days and the rest i sleep cus i have a poorly structured sleep schedule).

That being said I do have art I have not yet posted so I’ll eventually get to posting them. I’m also still open for commission, as I do prioritize paid art, however, I am planning to change my commission info so if you want me to draw you something, please be patient whilst I change prices and the options I have to offer.

Hopefully you can understand.

Thanks.

I’m actually really happy Ed cancelled some of his Asia tour dates. Anyone who buys tickets wants to see the one man band: guitar, loop and his angelic voice. It wouldn’t be fair if everyone got to see him do it all himself so far on the tour and then all of a sudden someone else is doing it. Like he said, he wants to put on a show fans paid for, which is just him. I think fans understand that. If it were one of my concerts cancelled, of course I’d be upset but I’d understand that it wouldn’t be the same experience without him playing. Plus, he needs to focus on getting better. Lots of rest is the best thing for him, especially after hearing he broke a rib too, that’s really freakin painful. I pray for a speedy recovery, he doesn’t deserve to be in pain :( Love you lots, Teddy! 💙

And to further illustrate the fact that the agency would like me to behave like a full supervisor, but not be appropriately compensated, HR just called me to ask me to remind one of the therapists that her license is due for renewal next week and it’s an emergency.  (Our real supervisor is out on vacation this week.)

Petty daydream of me saying no.  I don’t get compensated to handle personnel issues.  Tell the clinical director.

Reality of me agreeing.

It’s not that big of a deal.  It takes two seconds to say, “Yo, girl, you gotta straighten out your shit or you can see zero clients.”  (Wouldn’t really say it like that, obviously.)  It’s the principle.  People get paid far more than I do to keep tabs on this.

You really think if someone wanted to use one of your drawings as a tattoo they wouldn’t get it if you told them no

Obviously people will do what they want. But I’m just letting people know that it’s a dick move to get a tattoo of something that someone else paid for. I’ve got a whole blog full of drawings that anyone can use as tattoos and like a handful of commissioned works that I ask people not to steal so.. what do u want from me

how would nct u go through a haunted house or like a scary corn field maze with their s/o?? since it's halloween, yknow?

Taeil- acts like he’s totally unaffected but is about 0.000000000000009 seconds away from pissing himself and backing tf out

Taeyong- doesn’t even try to hide how scared he is, by the end he looks as if he’s about to cry (and probably does)

doyoung- he’d be giving you a pep talk about how it’ll be fine and ho it’s not even that scary when something pops out and he screams so loudly that he scares the people who are paid to scare him

Ten- have y’all seen hit the stage?? the boy has some lungs and is so jumpy so he’ll probably perforate someone’s eardrum

jaehyun- gets you both kicked out because he punches a clown, “have you seen it babe? I’m not taking any chances with that shit, we fucking do not all float”

mark- just wants his mom to be honest, the whole thing’s a shit show and before you know it you’re comforting him throughout the whole “ordeal”

How does it work when Thea sells her goods by 'gifting' them? I mean, how does she get paid? Sorry for all the questions, I just think what you do with your 'hood is so fascinating!

Haha, no prob :) In the first rotation, my town wasn’t established enough to have a merchant family and market, so everyone sold their goods from their doorsteps. But now that we’ve grown, the Groen family is in charge of running a greengrocer/market for the town, supplied by the Sims themselves. The way that I achieve this is by having Thea (and all of my Sims who produce goods) work, work, work as much as they can during their rotation. Then they gather their goods and I write down how much each item is worth. Then I mark all of the sell-able items in her inventory up by 40% (all on my list, I love lists) and total up how much she will sell everything for. I then summon Aelbert Groen over, have her gift him the items and then “pay” her using the FamilyFunds cheat and the amount I had written down earlier. When I get back to the Groens for their rotation, that amount will be deducted from their household income using FamilyFunds again.

The ultimate goal is to have a functioning market economy that sells only what my Sims can make themselves. That’s why I was concerned about the quantity of goods produced over the Winter, I fear that I may run out of food during the Groen’s rotation!

I'm not sure if the math makes sense or not because I glanced over it, because A) the question doesn't make sense, why would anyone pick work tirelessly for years and never get paid? There is no upside to this. But also B) the real rick answer is, "Both outcomes are the same - you die alone and the universe will forget you ever existed"

It was worded kinda wonky, I feel. The choices should have been:
A. become rich overnight with no work
B. do a job you’re absolutely best at but make no money

My take on it was if a person finds what they are best at in life, that is the reward since no amount of money can buy the feeling of satisfaction you’ve rightfully earned… but effectively earning nothing from doing it demolishes that. Getting rich immediately sounds ideal, but you didn’t earn that money… so you have no feeling of achievement for receiving it, ergo you are now deprived from the satisfaction of earning your living. If everything is within your price range, life loses its challenge, money has no value, material things become worthless, and you are now reduced to a hollow shell of a person one existential breakdown away from madness.

is it alright if i use some of your art in my bullet journal (with credit, of course)? some artists don't like people doing that so i just wanted to make sure! btw your etsy store is wonderful and i will be making an order once i get paid in a few days :-)

yes, i’d be honored!! long as you link back xx and thank you so much !!!

Hi Laura! I am currently an Illustration major, and just got my first paying commission!!! Even with this, I am worried that I am not working hard enough on my art, and fear that I never truly learned how to work hard! Should I be (metaphorically) working my fingers to the bone with every piece that I do, or does working hard mean something different to everyone?

Congrats on your first paid commission!

Working harder wouldn’t hurt (within reason, as long as you’re still taking care of yourself). The more you draw, the better you’re going to get, after all. But also I don’t think it’s beneficial to work your fingers to the bone on every piece. Doing studies is a much better use of time than trying to make masterpieces when you’re trying to improve your art.

I think a good minimum goal would be to get in the habit of drawing every day, even if it’s just quick gestures or sketches. Then start expanding that time little by little until you’re drawing a few hours a day.

Also I use an app that might help called Productivity Challenge Timer. It has a countdown timer that helps me stay focused, and it keeps track of how much time you’ve spent working on any given project.

# Help me find my dog?

So, lemme start this out by saying I know this probably won’t work but I am the most desperate person atm and I really love my dog and I don’t wanna just give up at trying to get her back

So this is Candy, she’s about 12 weeks old. She was stolen about 3 days ago from our yard because she got off our porch while my dad wasn’t home (I don’t live here)

Lemme just say this is the dog that my grown Pitt bull gave birth to, that I had to nurse by bottle for almost a week after she was born because she wasn’t eating, the dog I named and began training, and the dog that I personally took care of until I brought her to my dad’s when she was about 10 weeks old.

She doesn’t respond to her name yet, I don’t think. She has a black collar with white (probably brown with dirt) skulls and crossbones on it. She basically has the body of a pitbull, but the fur patterns of a Rottweiler; black body, brown paws, and she has a white speck on her nose, and lil black speckles on it.

My dad’s house is in Raephord North Carolina. If you see this dog at a shelter in this area (I have to ask my dad to stop by one) PLEASE pm me and tell me the shelter. If you see this dog in a yard or something in this area, PLEASE pm me and give me an address, or a plate number or SOMETHING that will help. We filed a police report but otherwise I can’t do anything else but ask for help.

I know this probably won’t work, chances are really thin, but I really love this dog and if/when I get her back I’m taking her to have her chipped as soon as I get paid what I’m owed, and she’s staying on a chain outside until we get her house trained.

If you don’t live in this area could you pls rb this? I know, it probably won’t work, but please just try to help me out? I just want my dog back

rude much?

Would you say that the Legion is anti-Velen? Are they, by their very nature, predisposed to trying to end his life?

Are they, then, a Non-Prophet Organization?

False Employment

Somehow, I (with a -1 persuasion) convinced the vampire guarding the first room into the Thay that we were minions of the great lich king himself, Acererak.  The vampire, upon hearing this, becomes friendly, and is actually kind of happy to see us.

Vampire: “Oh, I didn’t know Acererak had minions coming, let alone had minions allowed to leave his dungeon.”

Fighter (me): “Yeah… we were paid to do this and-”

Vampire: “YOU GET PAID?!”

Druid: “Yeah!  We get dental, vacation, and medical insurance too.”

Afterward, the vampire gives us her card in case the lich king is looking for more servants to serve him because it sounds like a “pretty sweet deal comparatively”.

So, serious talk.

How is anyone supposed to both have a full time job and be a solo 1d fan?

Like… how?

How?
