We put the good in the good in the good life
We put the bad in the past, now we alright.

Media Naranja III

A/n: Tumblr’s being a bitch and won’t let me put gifs on top of text for whatever reason so sorry for the awkward change in format.

Buuut, Part 4 will be out soon~

Previous Part:

media naranja (n.) one’s better half; a partner, a spouse, or a soulmate; lit. “half of an orange”

Are you going off to see (Y/n)?“ Cynthia asked whenever Connor came into the living room, coat halfway on and a hair tie dangling out of his mouth.

Connor could only roll his eyes as he finished putting on his coat. Ever since you came over for dinner his mother would not shut up about you, she was practically obsessed.

School had started not too long ago, but that in no way stopped his mom from asking you over for dinner at least twice a week.

Connor took the hair tie into his hands and began shoving his hair into a bun at then back of his head. “Yes, but we’re meeting up at the library.”

Cynthia almost dropped her phone as she looked at him. “You’re voluntarily going to the library?”

“Look, I’ll be back later alright?” Connor yelled as he starte walking to the door.

“Just don’t come home too late, I know it’s Friday but there’s still curfew!”

“Uh-huh!” Connor called back, sighing heavily once he was finally outside.

The library was on the other side of town, but Connor never minded long walks, he appreciated having the alone time and looking around town as he sauntered down the sidewalk.

Both of you shared a history class together, and you propositioned that the two of you could look around for something to help with your upcoming project, and then after you could just walk around together and talk.

Connor looked foward to each time he hung out with you, whenever you both had the opportunity to hang out, he would practically jump at the chance.

To be fair, you were his first real friend, and he wanted to know everything about you. He liked being with you and talking to you, at last there was someone he could stand being around for more than five minutes.

Of course, that came with endless teasing from his sister and mother.

Maybe it was just hopeful thinking from his mom, but Zoe saw it as perfect material to mess with him. She’d take his phone and read aloud your text conversations in a silly voice until Connor snatched the phone from her hands.

Sometimes she’d invite you over, asking for help with timing on a jazz band peice, just to tell Connor he wasn’t allowed bother you while you were helping her, knowing it would drive him mad.

Nevertheless, he was glad to he spending time with you away from his family.

Finally reaching the street the library was on, Connor quickened his pace until he was facing the front of the building, smiling whenever he saw you reading on the steps, apparently waiting for him.

Connor immediately got this awkward feeling in his chest, and his hand unconsciously went up to his hair to make sure it looked presentable before he started walking over to you.

You had this sort of quirk, as Connor noticed, where whenever you were reading, you would completely shut out the rest of the world around you. Someone could set off a bomb next to you and you would still be entranced by what you were reading.

So, Connor decided to poke fun at you.

He went up on the steps opposite you and turned so he was now behind you, quietly sneaking up behind you, he looked over at your shoulder and peered down at the book you were reading.

At first he was surprised, if the print was any smaller he’d need a spyglass to be able to read it, not to mentioned the book looked really thick as well.

He squinted, trying to make out the little words before he got a little closer to you, and loudly started reading off the pages.

Because of the self-confidence with which he had spoken, no one could tell whether what he said was very clever or very stupid.“ Connor read in an overly posh accent, only breaking whenever he saw you jump.

You whirled around to see his laughing face before lightly hitting him on the shoulder. “Say it a little loudly why don’t you? I don’t think Canada could hear you.” You said to him, joining in when he continued to laugh.

“What the hell are you reading?” Connor asked, plopping down next to you.

“War & Peace,” You answered, before noticing the look he was giving you. “What?”

“You’re fucking kidding me, right?” He said, turning the book over to see the title. “That thing’s like a thousand pages long.”

1225.” You corrected before taking it back from him. “It’s actually really interesting.”

“If you say so,“Connor said, standing up from the steps. “C'mon, we gotta a library to ransack.” He told you, taking your hand and pulling you into a standing position.

“Shouldn’t take us too long, I know where all the sections are.” You whispered to him as you both entered the doors.

“Okay, what about this one?” Connor asked as he handed you a random book from his place on the floor, he was leaning against the lower shelves while you looked at the opposite shelf.

You looked at the cover before holding back a laugh. “Yeah, sure.”

“Wait, really?” Connor asked with a surprised expression before looking at for himself.

The book had nothing to do with 1920’s America, but instead was an encyclopedia on antique furnishings.

“Why the hell is this in here?”

“Majority of people never put books back in the right place, you’d find all sorts of random stuff on shelves.” You answered, sitting down on the floor opposite of him.

Connor was about to make a witty remark but was interrupted by your phone going off.

“Doesn’t really matter, we should have enough to meet the written source material requirement anyways.” You said.

Connor started flipping through the furniture book to see some of the pictures, only looking up at you whenever you laughed a little under your breath.

You smiled at your screen, laughing again before you started tapping out a reply.

“Who dares to disrupt (Y/n) while she’s at the library?” Connor mused, doing his best to disguise his curiosity.

“You know Tony, the one in from Physics?”

Connor shrugged. “Eh, more of an acquaintance.”

You nodded. “Ah, I see. Well the two of us just text a lot, send each other silly stuff.”

Connor smiled. “Sounds riveting.”

You laughed as you shook your head. “Oh hush up.”

Connor shifted on the ground, he was never aware the two of you were friends, I mean, he’d never seen you both talk. It didn’t seem to be a big deal to you, but for whatever reason, the idea made him uncomfortable.

You both signed out the books before leaving the library, but it was still fairly light out.

“We could probably stop and get something to eat if you’re up for it?” You offered.

Connor was about to accept, but then your phone went off again and suddenly the idea lost it’s appeal.

After the first time, your phone went off at least once every five minutes, and each time you were quick to respond. It shouldn’t have bothered him, but it did.

“Actually, I forgot but my mom has something for me to do, and if I don’t she’ll kill me.“Connor said, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.

“Oh okay, maybe another time then?”

“Uh yeah, I’ll text you later.” He answered, waving at you before taking off down the road.

“Well you’re home early!” Cynthia called whenever she saw her son walk into the house. “I wasn’t expecting you for at least another two hours-”

“I’ll be in my room.” Connor said to her before going up the stairs and closing his bedroom door a little too harshly.

Cynthia looked up the stairs, Connor hadn’t acted like this in weeks, she debated going up and asking what had happened, but decided it was best to give him space.

Hi. I saw your post about the BBMA. Not sure if you'd know, but if you have Ad Block on does it count? I've heard different things and could never get a straight answer from anyone about this. I've tried checking it and by the time I finished a video it jumped a couple hundred so I couldn't tell. Are we sure it's only newer videos that count towards the streaming number? Sorry to bother you, I just wondered if you'd know.

Unfortunately, I do not have Ad Block so I don’t know if it doesn’t count views. However, I did a little research and found that when you have ads blocked it doesn’t count the views but there is a way to fix it;, this website talks about how u can get your views to count without having to disable Ad Block~ I figured it’ll be helpful.

Also regarding the actual streaming I’m pretty sure its mainly the newer videos we need to stream because they’re the ones that got them nominated in the first place, but I tend to stream all their videos religiously daily so, either way, I’m good lmao it depends if you have time to do it tbh, if you do have time it would be best to stream all their videos jic but if you don’t I’d say focus more on the newer songs (Including the HYYH album)

Heaven Can't Wait 9.06
So, I’ve been rewatching Heaven Can’t Wait (because I don’t care, I LOVED that episode), and a few things have been standing out to me. The spoken stuff between Dean & Cas wasn’t necessarily overt I LOVE YOU WITHOUT SAYING I LOVE YOU type stuff, but their love and care for each other as well as the tension was there in bucket loads, and not always just in the way Jensen & Misha played it, but also with some of the camera shots. So here goes, a very brief look at the ep to show that this WAS a very Destiel heavy one since I still see some people reading this as a real no homo episode, which I think couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ll start by saying that this is about two people who really do want each other, don’t know the feeling is reciprocated, and are for varying reasons (mainly Dean kicking Cas out) feeling very awkward and unsure around each other.

First off there’s the scene before Dean goes in, when he’s on the phone with Sam. And what is he doing? Just watching Cas. He’s not sitting in the car like he normally would, finishing off the phone call. He’s also taken the time to get changed, cleaned up a bit after seeing the vaporised body. And the music! It’s not exactly the same as S8 when Sam was looking through the window at Amelia, but it’s pretty damn close. It certainly gives the same feel, and that feel is decidedly romantic. Imagine a movie where former lovers are meeting again for the first time in a while - you’ll have a scene almost exactly like this, music and all. It’s been done a hundred times before. Dean just likes watching Cas, seeing what he’s been up to. He needs to psych himself up for this - this is not a situation in which he can just walk in and have it be like it always was. We’ll skip straight to Dean finding out about the date with Nora. Here is what Cas has to say about it:

“Nora … she’s a very nice woman. I’m pretty sure she’s not a reaper intent on killing me. And she’s asked me out. Going on dates. That’s something humans do, right?”

He’s going on the date because he wants to be human. He knows that what your average human does. And remember, he had no idea Dean was going to find him when he accepted the date. Even if he had, would it have made a difference given how hurt & pissed off he was? Probably not. He’s also keeping himself very busy with his work, showing Dean that he doesn’t need him, that he’s making a good go at being human all by himself. Because remember - he still hasn’t exactly forgiven Dean yet. He’s not angry anymore, but anyone who has been dumped will know the feeling of wanting to show the other person how much you don’t need them, even if you do. And it’s all very impersonal - the closest he gets to a real compliment is “She’s a very nice woman”. Not exactly sweep her off her feet type language. He doesn’t seem to really know her at all, but this is what being human is, and he likes her well enough, so why not give it a go? But then Dean gets the phone call after their little conversation, and Cas can’t help but watch:

Even after that, his focus is still on what Dean is doing. They talk, Dean convinces Cas to go with him (and it was a slightly less desperate version of Purgatory’s I’m-not-going-to-take-no-for-an-answer thing). Cas still is showing Dean that he has his own life with responsibilities & he isn’t going to just drop everything to go running when Dean calls. He does still say yes though.

At the scene, Cas is scared, and Dean sees this. It is here, I think, that Dean realises just how much things have changed for Cas. It’s here that he decides that maybe yeah, Cas is better off without him.

I mean, look at his face. That is Dean’s “I’m heartbroken but gotta keep it together, stay strong” face. He is miserable. It hadn’t really occurred to him just how hurt Cas was, and how different everything was. He finally understands what Cas meant back at the Gas-n-Sip when he said “I had nothing”. And he says to Cas to that he’ll take care of it, that Cas doesn’t need to worry. And instead of being relieved, this is Cas’s reaction:

Yes he’s scared, but Dean has also stopped trying to convince him to come along. It’s almost as though he was hoping that Dean would give him the speech again, try everything out to get him to come, but he doesn’t, and so Cas goes along with it because he doesn’t know how to ask.

Fast forward to the next day. Remember, this is after the fight with Ephraim, after Dean has found out what is going on with Cas. Cas has chosen the human life, but he is in serious pain. He is distraught, and isn’t sure how to cope. And this is also after the unexplained night. This is the dreaded adios. Dean tells Cas to go live a normal life, that it isn’t his problem anymore. And Cas is resigned to it. He takes Dean at face value, that because he is scared & has no powers that he can’t really be of any use. And this is his face:

But Dean? He’s not happy about it. He even allows that to show while Cas has his back turned.

And then, as Dean says later, it’s adios. Always the adios. And this is the adios of two people who desperately do not want to be saying it (and indeed, actually don’t say anything at all), but feel they have no choice. They each seem to think that by being apart they are doing the other a favour, when it is clear just by looking that the opposite is exactly the case:

Cas even lingers, as though he’s waiting for Dean to change his mind, hoping that there will be one more “Cas, I can’t let you do this”. But it doesn’t come, and so he turns away, and Dean’s face falls once more, and you can almost feel that dull ache of loss right in his centre.

But it’s the camera work right at the very end of their interaction that really does it for me. Normally, in a romantic movie, when the person is leaving, the one they are truly supposed to be with watches them, and the camera shifts focus to show us this since the one leaving can’t see this. That didn’t happen with Nora, because she was never the one for Cas. Dean though? We do get that. Just briefly, but it is there and it is noticeable.

All of that to me made this one of the most romantic episodes of the season so far, even if it was the separation “I’m doing this for your own good” stage of the relationship, the part that breaks our collective hearts. It was heartwrenching in the extreme, but it is what is going to make the payoff all the more rewarding when they come through it on the other side.

-’And I suppose… if it’s my last chance to say it…’

-‘Since it’s unlikely that we’ll ever meet again, I might as well say it now…’
