Soulmate, My Ass: Part VII [Eric Coulter x Reader]

AN: Previously, on Supernatural… hahaha, kidding. Anywho, there’s a scene in this part that I borrowed from the American Gods series because I loved that scene so much and I was like, “This could totally happen with YN and Eric,”

You blinked, once. Father? It took a few seconds, but then, you had the sense to gather your composure. Straightening up and fixing your jacket, you cleared your throat.

“Mr. Coulter, pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am YN, I’m with your-“

“She’s my soulmate.” Eric suddenly declared. At that point, to hell with composure, you had to scrape your jaw off of the scrubbed white tiles. Your eyes must be so huge, it would’ve popped out of its sockets.

I am absolutely in love with your "Too Irish to live, too boss to die" Jacksepticeye edit! Actually, I would love to print it and hang it on the wall. That's why I am asking: would you mind if I did that? And if you don't, could I maybe ask for it in better quality? Best regards and keep up your amazing work!

ah thank you so much!! it was just a spur of the moment edit, but i’m glad you like it! you totally have my permission to print! unfortunately, that’s the only quality one i have since i deleted the photoshop file. sorry about that. 💚

Would you be willing to write a snippet of The Muses and Aggie fighting some kind of monster? I am so totally in love with ST at the moment, Thank you for the time you give us readers and the time you spend writing.

Omg, would I ever? I’m making some new plans for book two, holy fuck is it going to be action packed.

Hermione’s shoulder was burning, luckily she didn’t think it was poison, Hermione had had enough of poison. She’d seen Hope disappear moments before with a scream that echoed in the silence. She had faith in Hope, she really did, that was why she knew in her heart that she wasn’t dead.

Daphne had been busy dealing with a Keres not too far away with a pair of goggles over her eyes enchanted to make the unseen seen.

Compared to the two of them, Hope was impossible to catch up with and impossible to catch, unless you’d set out a trap ahead of time. Hope had run into that problem a few times.

Then Hermione heard the distinct sound of a gun going off and she rushed forward, almost going over a cliff before an arm yanked her viciously back.

There were several types of werewolves, some, like Remus, could learn a vestige of control, but others were just like rabid murderous wolves, only stopped by a bullet of silver laced with wolfsbane.

“You all right?” Hermione gasped. “Did it bite you?”

“I scraped by,” Hope said, grinning widely, her eyes glowing briefly with color. “Lets find Daphne before something else tries to kill us.”

no omg one it’s totally okay to care this much? at least for me i really really relate to lena and i love the supercorp relationship and tbh even though i thought melissa was a white feminist i didn’t realize she was literally this fucking ugly…….

we deserve so much better than being the punchline of jokes and you’re wonderful and beautiful and i’m so proud of you?? for just being you and living and loving women okay?

why you need to see spider-man homecoming:

  • go see this movie and smile your ass off

I just…. i love this transition so much. Mustang at least gets a couple frames to straighten up his gremlin ass self but Ed and Al are all ÓwÒ and ( ͡°  ͡°<~ to Business in 0.0001 seconds. it utterly captures the exact emotion of the moment when you and ur friends are fucking the hell around & there’s a knock on the door and for 3 full seconds the whole gang is ready to commit murder before you remember it’s the pizza guy. Just… Hawkeye’s gun gliding casually into view. The single frame delay between Ed and Al. I am being totally 100% unironic when i say this is one of my favorite pieces of animation ever

Hey pals. Apparently this is a thing that we, as an internet femslash community, need, so it is time for Grouchy Aunt J’s Guide To Fandom Deportment.

1. I know that you really like your favourite actors, especially the ones involved in your fave wlw ships. I totally understand this! They are pretty, and wlw fandom is really fun, and if your ship is also a canon ship then it is super exciting and validating to see yourself reflected in media that you love. I, too, love that feeling and get really passionate about the media that I watch, which is why I am a Fandom Old.

2. The actors in your favourite ships are people. Like, real people, with anxieties and food preferences and sometimes they have weird hair days and some of them are introverted and some of them are extroverted, etc etc etc. When they are acting in your favourite media, they are going to work.

3. Part of an actor’s job these days is to sometimes be around on social media. Sometimes not! If they are kind/friendly/available on social media, that is a fun perk of someone who is going the extra mile for their job. You are not entitled to this.

4. Even if you super like a ship and are really passionate about fandom, there are things it is not alright to do. Actors are people, and when fans start treating them poorly it is unkind and potentially frightening or traumatic. Plus, your behaviour reflects badly on all fans and means that fandom as a whole doesn’t get to have nice things anymore. (Thanks, jerks.)

5. It is never okay to:

  • harass actors on social media because something about their character is interfering with your ship/they’re not supporting your ship enough/they’re supporting the wrong ship too much/their character is problematic/the ship you think their ship is better than is problematic/just whatever please stop it this is not their problem. Tweeting at them will not fix whatever is upsetting you on the show you like, but it is probably pretty hurtful for them and not something they should have to put up with.
  • harass/question actors who are involved in queer ships about their sexuality in public spaces. People’s sexuality is private, and being involved in portraying a queer canon or subtext ship doesn’t give fans the right to know about an actor’s queerness or lack thereof unless they choose to volunteer that.
  • tell actors on social media about any sexual fantasies you may or may not have about them, b/c sexual consent also applies to actors.
  • send actors unsolicited links to/hand bound novellas/lovingly hand-lettered scrolls of fanfiction, especially smutty fanfiction, especially especially if that author is not aware that their fic is getting sent to actors inappropriately.
  • send actors your nsfw fanart about them, or someone else’s nsfw fanart about them, oh my g o d.
  • ask them to read your fanfiction or autograph your fanfiction, damn.

5a. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself: would I, or another a reasonable person, want to see this [insert fanwork of varying levels of nsfw] about a representation of myself/themselves? Most actors are actual people who find this just as upsetting as you might find it, if someone drew fanart of you and then brought it to your workplace.

5b. Yes, I know, there is a certain amount of distance involved in creating fanworks because they are about fictional characters and that storytelling and play is one of the things I love about fandom. But I also never, under any circumstances, would want any of the actors involved in my ships to read my fanfiction because it would be super uncomfortable and that’s the point

6. Also, your favourite actor’s non-actor family and friends are just that: not actors. Don’t bother them. Don’t - hypothetically - stalk them and try to catfish them to get information about your favourite actor. It’s super super not okay and it’s a huge boundary violation.

In conclusion: social media is super great and has changed fandom in a lot of neat ways, but having cool TV and movie actors available to connect with in that way is a privilege, not a right. Let’s all act like we are worthy of it.

More Jin Kim’s style (or kinda) practice!

I had to fight too much with this man’s face. Sweet Jesus I still don’t know if I fully understand how it works. BUT it’s very fun to draw and I’ve learnt a lot of things, such as draw: sternocleidmastoid, oris/oculi orbicularis, angry men, very angry men. Did I mention how proud I am of the necks?

I’d totally love to work on Eponine and Gavroche expressions but sadly, I have to keep working on the portfolio so they will have to wait *cries a river*

Cheap, newbie lithomancy

Ok so I love the idea of divination by throwing things about, and lithomancy is stone divination. Now, you can use your lovely crystals or tumbled stones for this but a. I’m cheap so I don’t have too many and b. I am not gonna be throwing around my precious gem babies. Nooope.

So, what to do? Go outside and grab a bunch of small to medium stones that appeal to you, you should need about 10-15 depending on what you wanna put on them. Give them a wash and dry. Take paint or use markers (I used gold and silver markers) to add symbols of meaning to each one. Common themes include the planets and elements along with some tarot influence.

Next, take a spare piece of paper and figure out what categories you want, 8 in total. I did: Self, love, money, work, friends, home, magic and health. Now you should make a circle with whatever you can that looks like the below, and place your categories in the 8 sections. Still with me? Cool.

Now here’s the fun part! Shake up your stones and (not too hard) cast them over the circle. They will scatter about and maybe bounce a little. Stones that lie outside the circle or lines are irrelevant and should be put back in the storage while you read. Depending on which section they land in, the stones will have a message about that topic. Stones in the centre circle show past/current events, the middle ring shows things to come and the outer is for future possibilities.

This is super fun, inexpensive and actually pretty accurate so if you get the chance, go do it!!

Lots of love and good luck,

Gazelle.

Happiness comes from total self-acceptance. I’m genderfluid. I love and accept that about myself. And I’ve designed my whole life around loving all of who I am. Here are some tips:

-Surround yourself with loving people. As time goes by, do everything you can to spend time with good people and minimize time with unloving, unaccepting people – even if those people are related to you.

-Wear what you want. Yes, outward appearance isn’t everything. And, you don’t need to look a certain way. But it’s important to feel a certain way. Your outfits should make you feel alive and confident and totally…you.

-Practice. Practice. Practice. Self-love doesn’t happen overnight. It will take time. So keep at it. Make a little progress every day.

ok this is going to sound rude but i totally don't mean it to be, but as an asian i always get super exited when i see asian authors, so i was wondering why you chose to write a european story rather than something korean? loved it tho

Hi nonny:

I get this question a lot, so I’m going to come across as a bit short or annoyed, but it’s not about you, I promise (I don’t know you after all).

It’s about your question.

It is a rude question, and I don’t appreciate it. Frankly, what I am and how that affects what I write is none of anyone’s business. If you want to know why I wrote Wintersong and not something Asian, I write a little about it here. And it isn’t that I don’t intend to write something Asian-inspired; I do. Why did I choose to write something European? Many things. I like Mozart. I like the German language. I like European folklore. I am pretty goth. I grew up with these things, so I know them pretty intimately.

But I want to unpack this question a little. Why is it that women of color are expected to write or perform their own marginalizations? Do we go around asking out queer people to only write queer stories? Do we ask disabled people to only write their disability? Incidentally, I wrote my disability into Wintersong. I gave Liesl my bipolar disorder. But the praise and censure I get always stems from the most obvious marginalization I have: my face, and by extension, my ethnic background.

If you want to get into the weeds of why I didn’t write something Korean first, it’s because I’m not Korean. I am of Korean descent, yes. I am a member of the diaspora. But neither am I truly a part of the Korean-American immigrant experience. I grew up pretty privileged: my dad is white, I went to an all-girl’s private school, was part of swim and tennis clubs, etc. I had a lot of the markers of cultural whiteness, which is tied with class. My Koreanness is whitewashed, not just by my cultural privilege, but because I didn’t have access to a Korean extended family. My aunties, uncles, and cousins all live in Seoul, or some didn’t make it out of Pyongyang before the establishment of the 38th Parallel. I’ve been to Korea twice. The only Korean members of my family are my mother and my grandmother. Everyone else is white.

That cultural whiteness? It comes across to a lot of people, and it especially came across to other Koreans. There are reasons I don’t speak the language as well as I should, considering it was my milk tongue. I went to Korean school and attended Korean church for a while, but I was bullied and ostracized so badly I stopped going back when I was 9. I wasn’t bullied because my dad was white; I was bullied because I wasn’t Korean enough. I didn’t share their cultural language. I didn’t even share the same parental pressures. My mother is the one who had been pressuring me to quit my day job and become a full-time writer, not my dad. As a result, I was the outcast in every Asian group I ever tried to be a part of as a kid. Some were open about it to my face. You’re not Korean enough. Some were more insidious about it. They would deliberately choose subjects and topics about which I had no handhold, freezing me out of conversation. My friends? The theatre kids, the artist freaks, the writers. The vast majority of them? White.

This obviously left pretty deep psychic scars. I can’t eat doughnuts, for one. They smell of Korean school and shame. But it also left me with a deep insecurity about even approaching a Korean subject in writing. Am I enough? Am I enough, am I enough, am I enough? It’s only as an adult that I’ve made Asian friends, that I’ve slowly started to find my way back to the heritage I’ve kept at arm’s length.

I’m telling you my history, nonny, to better answer your question. But to also maybe shed a light on the effect of asking a marginalized person to perform their marginalization for you. For me, that question is fraught, and I imagine it is for a lot of other Asian writers as well. When I hear that question, all I hear is You are not enough. You are not Asian enough. You didn’t even write something Asian. You are not enough, you are not enough, you are not enough.

Have you seen the last episode of Supergirl? What did you think about it? I would love to hear your thoughts about it. Also did you see the cute Sanvers cuddling scene. I would LOVE to see that moment drawn in your art style, if it isn't too much to ask for...

draw alex danvers, please!

To answer your question about the episode, it’s taken me so long to answer this ask that I’m trying to remember what ep this scene was in. If I recall correctly, it was in my least fav episode of the season, but it was followed by what I think has become my favorite episode of the entire series, so it balances out. EDIT: I don’t remember what ep this scene is in and I’m pretty sure I’m not describing the right one but whatever.

Yeah ok.

but anyways ppl who say malec don’t know each other that well so they’re not solid yet probably hit their head and forgot how alec knows about magnus’ past lovers and all the 17k ppl and he doesn’t care about that, magnus knows alec is inexperienced and doesn’t care about that, after traveling the world together and magnus knowing alec prefers a bacon burger from the east village, magnus knowing alec’s parents got engaged in barcelona, magnus knowing which alcoholic drinks alec likes and doesn’t, alec knowing magnus’ mother commited suicide, alec knowing magnus killed his awful stepfather and so on and so worth.

just because we don’t get to see all that, doesn’t mean it’s not there. magnus and alec know about each other or at least they know enough to love each other and want to be together and that’s the important thing here. magnus didn’t give up on alec in season 1 and alec didn’t walk away from magnus in season 2 because they knew they could make it work and that it’s something they both want. and yeah, there’s still some stuff in the dark that i am sure will come out sooner or later, especially after 2x15, but to say that they’re not in love or that they are not “solidified” yet is wrong and you are wrong.

also they totally invented love at first sight so jot that too

hi! i love kieran so much, and despite what he did, i really connect with him. he really reminds me a lot of my childhood and the person that i once was, and him and mark make me so happy. (also, s/o to you because i totally did not see that plot twist coming in LM) i am wondering if i can have a kieran snippets? thank you so much for writing your incredible books, they have helped me through so much. <3

*hugs*

Mark pushed past the last of the courtiers. This close, he could see that Kieran wore something around his neck on a chain. An elf- bolt. Mark’s elf-bolt. Mark’s stomach tightened.

“You are the person I want to be with every day…”

He smelled like ozone and weed. Jeremy’s grip on the bottle loosened.

“And this is something that I’ve been afraid to saaaaay…”

Michael approached, eyes glowing with a sickly sweetness never before seen. His voice was the same, an almost electric quality in it as it travelled through the air. He stopped only an inch in front of jeremy, looking up at him hopefully. From here, the glowing electricity scars were visible.

“…That’s not Michael.”

Keanu chuckled quietly, putting a hand on Michael’s shoulder.

‘Oh I assure you, it is. Only, his fears and insecurities have been removed.“

Michael grabbed jeremy’s left hand, holding it close, eyes somehow softening further as he continued.

"You’re the guy I am so kinda into… A guy that I’m totally into… This feeling is new…”

He paused for a moment, one hand reaching up to caress the cheek of the now crying Jeremiah Heere.

“Jeremy… I love you.”

Jeremy’s breath got shaky, tears blurring his vision as he fought to keep his eyes on the squip. It smiled, stepping over, forcing his head down, almost closing the gap between their lips. This is what the squip was doing all along. This was never christene. How could it have been? The isolation, the jealousy only to build up tension until it snapped, leading Michael to fall into his arms… The squip had planned every word. Keanu put a hand on his back.

'That’s your cue.’

“I… I can do whatever I want…”

'I keep my promises, Jeremy.’

“…Great…”

Jeremy leaned down, pressing his forehead against michael’s, letting tears fall to the ground as he slowly leaned in, holding the bottle up.

“Take… Take a fucking sip, babe…”

YA Books With Queer Girls

This maaay be stemming from anger, as all my best ideas are, but I figured it might help someone find a really awesome book, and so I shall be your unofficial librarian for a sec.

I can vouch for all of these books; yes, some are better than others (I mean, yes, Of Fire and Stars has an overly simple plot), but they are all very much enjoyable, especially if you’re not in constantly book-reviewer mode like I am whenever I read.

Also, I’m focusing this specially on books with queer girls, because I feel like YA has a bit of a problem with wlw. They tend to fly majorly under the radar, while books like Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda and Carry On get majorly hyped. Don’t get me wrong, I love both those books to bits, but still. I want to read all the books about girls who love girls.

-

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman: I need to put on of my all-time fav books here, first, don’t I? But, seriously, this book is fucking fantastic, and I love it to bits. It’s got all the amazing things: podcasts, nerdy people being nerdy, geeking out over sci-fi, it’s fantastic. Bisexual female MC/narrator + demisexual male MC + gay male side character + gay female minor character.

When The Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore: Guys. GUYS. This book is gorgeous. One of the most beautiful books I’ve read in a long time. Anna-Marie McLemore is already one of my top ten favorite writers and she’s only written two books, and this…I love this book and I want everyone to read this amazing book SO JUST GO READ IT, OKAY? AND it’s about QPOC, AND it very much respects and embraces true magical realism, AND the author is literally the sweetest person ever. Queer female MC + trans male MC.

Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova: This book is like a mix of Alice in Wonderland and a crazy fever dream. BUT IN A GOOD WAY. And can I mention the worldbuilding??? I’m in love with it. Bisexual female MC + queer female MC

Everything Leads to You by Nina Lacour: THIS BOOK IS FREAKIN’ ADORABLE. I mean, it’s about romance and movies and mysteries and it has a beautifully built slowburn romance and everyone is adorable and the romance is adorable and just ALL THE YES. Gay female MC + Gay female MC

Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee: This book is all about the internet! I mean, if you exist on a creative plain of the internet, you’ll see yourself in this book. PLUS all the amazing and totally important conversations about asexuality. Asexual romantic female MC.

Little & Lion by Brandy Colbert: I am SO ANGRY about how much this book has flown under the radar, because it’s amazing and so important and it addresses so many amazing things, and I just…Brandy Colbert writes the most fantastically realistic, flawed characters and I love it. Bisexual female MC + queer female side character.

Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst: I need to mention the cover of this book, first, because OH THE GORGEOUSNESS. Also, can I say NON-HOMOPHOBIC FANTASY WORLD??? Gay female MC + gay female MC

Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Shannon Watters, and Brooke A. Allen: I shriek about this graphic novel/s every single time someone asks for a comic recommendation. It’s ridiculous in the best way and lighthearted and has the most lovable characters and can I mention the cast is ENTIRELY FEMALE? Gay female MC + Gay female MC + Trans female MC

As I Descended by Robin Talley: Gay modern day Macbeth retelling with ghosts. Want to hear that again? LESBIAN MACBETH. WHY HAVEN’T YOU READ THIS ALREADY? Gay female MC + Gay female MC

10 Things I Can See From Here by Carrie Mac: Okay, yes, this book has an awful cover but don’t let that sway you because I love this book to pieces. For one, it’s set in Vancouver, and I love Vancouver, and also it has probably one of the most realistic portrayals of anxiety I’ve ever read, AND THAT ANXIETY DOESN’T GET CURED WITH ROMANCE. Gay female MC + Gay female side character

The Cursed Queen by Sarah Fine: Okay, yes, this is a sequel, but I had to add it to the list because I’m in love with this series and this world and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It’s gloriously stabby. Bisexual female MC + queer female MC

Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde: This book is a love letter to fandom and nerd culture and everything, AND I LOVE IT TO PIECES. I’m so, so happy this book is getting so much hype because it stands up to the hype and crushes it and I just love it, okay?? Also, I love all the characters. ALL OF THEM. They’re so fantastically written and adorable and I REALLY, REALLY LOVE THEM. Bisexual female MC + Queer female side character.

Get It Together, Delilah/The Flywheel by Erin Gough: It’s set in a bakery/cafe, which is enough to get my heart beating, but this book is just straight-up adorable. Also, if you don’t think I’m making panna cotta gelato the first chance I get YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. Gay female MC + Gay female MC.

BONUS: These books don’t have queer girls as MCs, but they do have queer girls and are just overall fantastic. The Upside of Unrequited has a sideplot about the MC’s gay sister and her pansexual girlfriend, plus the most adorable moms in YA, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue has a female character whom I’m like 99% sure is asexual, A Tyranny of Petticoats has a couple of stories that are about queer girls, as does Meet Cute

Also, did I miss any important books??? Tell me if I did because I want to know about ALL THE BOOKS with queer girls.
