and her music is good

whatleighdoesnow  asked:

Random thing is random but… every week I dedicate 2 hours to listening to Liza Tarbuck on BBC radio 2 & I often think of you. She's into good food, good dogs & good music & I think you might appreciate her.

I do not know this person, but I need to have a listen. I hope I can catch her show on this side of the pond. Thank you, lovely.

Okay….. I am tired of seeing one-dimensional characterizations of Belarus and I know that happens with all characters to some extent, but it is particularly bad with her. So here are some cool facts I found about Belarus that make her a more round character:

-she is really into the occult and is a great fortune teller

-she can see ghosts but Latvia says she’s so intimidating even ghosts would avoid her

-she may or may not speak Polish

-she zones out all the time. Her mind will just go blank and she’ll stare at something (like her bow) for hours on end. One time she watched white noise on tv for three hours. Occasionally she’ll have a jolt realization that the day has ended and night came without her noticing

-she is very strong, both physically and of heart and will, though the latter only shines through in negative ways

-she’s “extremely vulgar” in the calmest, most casual tone of voice

-she’s been into rock music lately

-she’s a good acrobat. Her gymnasium is her pride

-America took her in after the Soviet Union collapsed and she thought only bad things came from associating with Russia

-Russia values her opinion and /they can get along peacefully/. Belarus is pretty attached to Ukraine. Ukraine worries about her

-she has an EXTREMELY negative view of humans

-she thinks philosophically about death, specifically her own, a lot. Since she knows she will die eventually, she tries to appreciate the moment

-she loves her traditional clothing

-she is perpetually annoyed by American ghosts, who apparently don’t even bother hiding, like a normal ghost would

-she prank calls Lithuania. And you know that thing where someone calls you and doesn’t say anything, they just breathe into the phone? She does that to Poland

-when she lived with America she completely sapped that guy of all his endless energy; she made him so tired he started trying to get rid of her

I really love the idea of Cass completely falling in love with dancing.  She was raised to think that her body is nothing but a weapon, and dancing teaches her that she can make something beautiful with it.  No matter what genre of music is playing, Cass has an uncanny ability to move with the beat in a way that can’t be taught.  You know that one person who hits the dance floor and everyone around them stops and watches in awe?  That’s her.  Ballet is one of her favorites because of its storytelling and its elegance, so unlike the sharpness of battles. Dances have all of the good aspects of fighting –the intensity, concentration, fluidity, adrenaline– without any of the bad.  Her movements aren’t being used to hurt, but to create.

Hayley Kiyoko is important because:

-She’s mixed race.

-She’s bisexual.

-Her music is really good because it isn’t offensive and one of her more popular songs (Girls like Girls) is not only catchy, but sends a great message about queer girls :)

-She’s an artist I would listen to while looking at a sunset in the summer.

-She has a video of herself eating a taco in her car on youtube.

here’s a soft cartoony doodle for a soft cartoony song !! c:

A good way to relax is listening to calming music with someone special~

We had to do both of these because we couldn’t resist. So here you go!

This was suppose to be a doodle but it turned into a little more than that. I got carried away with the background, if you couldn’t tell. Though, I really like how this picture turned out. It’s better than I expected it to be and is now the wallpaper on my computer.

Tori’s got a fancy house above ground. Damn. I want it.

I have finally rewatched this amazing musical and this is just a perfect crossover for these two, okay?

And I believe, there’s good in everybody’s heart,
Keep it safe and sound.
(Listen close to everybody’s heart,
And hear that breaking sound.)
With hope you can do your part
To turn a life around!
(Hopes and dreams are shattering apart
And crashing to the ground!)

Sydney, you’ve been with the show since you were 9 years old. You are now 11. It’s a show that deals with very adult themes - frankly, candidly - and I think that’s… it’s strength. How did you discuss the show - you know, as a 9 year old talking to your mom or to your director - about what’s going on in the show and how you dealt with that?

Can i tell yall a thing?

Im feeling really shitty rn because i forgot my antidepressants and this week as been utterly horrible (and the weeks to follow will be worse tbh) but, im tellin a nice story to try to up my feels a bit.

I came out as trans to my family last year and only half way through the year did my mother finally let her parents know about me as well, and this year for christmas my Nana got me a gift. She was nervous about how i would respond because she doesnt know how sensitive i am on the subject, but it was actually really cute and really funny.

She got me a super fukin comfortable pair of Batman boxers, as well as a Tshirt that says “Caution: Body under construction” with a pic of a stickfigure man lifting weights and i kinda just??? It was a really sweet gesture and made me super happy because it is actually really relevant to how im very slowly trying to build muscle mass and change my body for my own happiness.

so yeah. I love my nana.

I was listening to Suddenly Wheatley again the other day for actually the first time in a while, and I have to say, one of the things I love most about it is how Wheatley’s part all but revolves around how genuinely devoted to Chell he feels right now.

-“You’ve given me purpose, I know what I’m for”

-“I used to guard humans, but now I will guide you”

-“Wheatley’s your core” (x2)

-“It’s what I’m for!” <— (After Chell’s line about him guiding her through this floor)

-“Right by your side, dear”

Like? Idk, I just can’t get over how he’s basically saying that he considers helping Chell to be what he was made for.

This core, who it’s implied has literally forgotten (or was just plain never told) what his actual purpose was supposed to be, believes he has finally found it in simply helping this one amazing individual win the freedom she deserves. Hoping also that perhaps he can share in that freedom as well.

It’s so pure, I tell ya! ;w; Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside every time~.
