Patater Week (Feb 6) Get Together

you know how i said i wasn’t doing this

apparently i am a liar.

(all the week’s fics will go onto ao3)

They literally slam into each other at a roller rink.

It’s a You Can Play benefit thing for kids. Kent’s too busy watching to make sure he doesn’t run over one of the mini-tots that he completely misses the giant headed in his direction. And you would think, wouldn’t you, that a guy whose career involved balancing on knives on ice would take a check on skates as well as he did in an ice rink, but nope. Kent hits Alexei Mashkov head-on and sends them both into a pile on the ground.

The icing on the cake is Kent’s arm clotheslining a six-year-old on the way down.

So now he and Tater are both sitting on the side of the roller skating rink, holding matching cold packs to their faces while a small child stuffs tissues up his nose to stop the bleeding.

“I’mb gonna tell everybody at school that Kent Parsob hit by face!” the kid tells Kent happily, oblivious to his dad’s efforts to keep him from talking and thereby snorting blood everywhere.

Kent gives him a weak thumbs up. At his side, Alexei makes a noise that might actually be a giggle.

“You so cute with kids,” Alexei says.

Damn language barriers, Kent thinks. “You mean I’m good with kids. And I’m not that great. They just like me because I’m ridiculous.”

“You are very ridiculous,” Alexie agrees. “But I’m choose right word, ‘cute.’ You are cute being with kids.”

Kent thinks the head-on collision must have knocked something loose in both their heads. He twists sideways and gapes, the effect of which is probably lost due to the ice pack covering half his face. “I’m sorry. What did you just say?”

And now for something completely different.

Me and CK are back from the trip to Georgia. We’ll soon be back to our regularly scheduled askblog comic. In the meantime here’s some pictures from when I made the AFAC crew in the Sims 4 and goofed off. Cause why not.

Had to split them into a few separate households cause there’s a lot of ‘em. I made them with the idea being that this is some sort of slice-of-life-where-everyone-is-humans AU.

I had Toriel adopt Aidrian because I didn’t want Frisk’s biological parents in my sim funtimes. Might add Jason’s family later once I’ve sussed out with CC what his parents and siblings look like.

…Nice pose Chara. >u>

It’s weird that Alphys is the same height as Undyne in sims, cause all sims are the same height depending on their age. At least Undyne is ripped and Alphys is squishy. That will have to do.

I had them be married from the start, cause why not. And since Sims 4 has a lot of cool gender-related options available now, I set Alphys as “able to make sims pregnant” so that they could have biological children in the future. Again, cause why not.

The skelleton fam. Again it’s weird that Sans is the same height as everyone but this will do. Had to take a lot of creative liberties with the hair and skin, but I’m pretty happy with the results.

And last but certainly not least, Mettaton and Napstablook. Mettaton took the most advantage of all the gender-related stuff. He is male, has a female bodytype, a male voice, feminine clothes except for the formal outfits which are suits, makeup, a feminine hairstyle, and he’s “able to impregnate sims”.

AFAC-Napstablook is agender, but unfortunately they do not have this option in sims, so they’re set as male in the game. Same with Frisk and Chara who are set as male and female respectively.

Shenanigans below the cut~

They barely let her pack a bag.

She manages about three t-shirts, an extra pair of jeans and underwear, a box of treasures she’s been keeping since she was five years old, a tin containing about $130 she’d saved over the years, and the journal she had started keeping this past year. She tries to gather more - memories, clothes, whatever - but her father stands in the doorway, arms folded, snarl permanently in place. She can’t bear be under his gaze anymore, so she leaves.

She can hear her mother crying from the kitchen as she walks out the front door. Her bag is heavy on her back, and she can feel the whispered gossip of her neighbours follow her down the street.

She calls her Abuela first, her mom’s mom and winces when she hears words like ‘abomination’ and ‘devil worship’.

Her mom’s sister is the same. How dare you call here, how dare you put your parents through this.

Issy is her last hope. Her father’s baby sister, only ten years older than Maggie. Issy had managed to escape Blue Springs when she was eighteen, and had not once looked back.

But Issy drives the two hours from Omaha to pick up Maggie. She calls Maggie’s school and explains the situation and helps get her transferred somewhere closer to where she lives. She’s twenty-four and getting a Masters in Software Engineering and doesn’t have to do anything, but she does. Her two roommates - both also in grad programs - agree to let Maggie live in their spare room without hesitation. Ashe studies law and Bridget studies economics and they both hug Maggie when they first meet her because she’s so small and so sad. They take her to Target and buy her some new clothes and they get a new dresser from Ikea and they try to make sure she’s okay without hovering too much.

Ashe tells Maggie that she’s brave, that she still hasn’t come out to her parents despite the fact she’s in a serious relationship. Bridget tells Maggie that she’ll help her with her homework and beat up anybody who gives her hell at her new school.

And Issy tells Maggie that everything will be okay, that they’ll get through this together.

Maggie keeps her head down at school, stays quiet and does her homework and gets good grades. She doesn’t dare rock the boat or cause trouble, because she just can’t do that to Issy. Issy does the same, works hard and saves money, thinking of nothing but her and Maggie’s future.

When Issy graduates, she manages to get a job at Wayne Technologies, and the two of them move to Gotham City. Maggie is just fifteen and she gets a job to try and help out as much as she can. Issy refuses to take a dime from her. So Maggie learns to cook and clean and she makes sure there’s always a plate of dinner waiting for Issy after a long day at work.

When Maggie brings her first girlfriend home, Issy interrogates her. And when Issy brings home Robbie - the man she’ll one day marry - Maggie does the same.

Their family is just the two of them, but there is more love than they know what to do with.

Issy cries when Maggie graduates as valedictorian of her high school class. She cries when Maggie gets a full-ride scholarship to Gotham University. She cries when Maggie moves out. She never cries over her estranged family, over the hateful things her brother has said to her over the years. Maggie makes her strong.

Maggie cries when Issy tells her she’s pregnant. She cries when Issy and Robbie ask her to be the godmother of their child. She cries when she holds her nephew Beckett for the first time. She only cries once over her estranged parents, and when she does, Issy holds onto her tightly, and doesn’t let go until Maggie is ready.

When Alex Danvers kisses her, the first thing Maggie does is call Issy. They talk for hours, Maggie convinced she’d blown things for good, Issy telling her to have a little faith. And when her and Alex finally become an item, Issy texts Maggie nothing but ‘I told you so’.

When Maggie blasts Alex for ignoring her about Valentine’s Day, she calls Issy in tears, rambling about ‘cards from her mom who just happens to be named Eliza’ and ‘there must be something wrong with me’. Issy waits patiently until she’s done, before telling her that no, nothing’s wrong with her. She went through hell and she survived and nobody can make her feel guilty about that.

And when Maggie brings home Alex a few months later, Robbie reminds Issy not to be too embarrassing or hard on Alex. Issy agrees until she sees just how in love Maggie is, then she pulls out the old year books and laughs over them with Alex. Alex invites Issy and the family to National City for Family Thanksgiving, Issy invites Alex and her family to Gotham for Christmas.

As they leave, Issy pulls Maggie aside and tells her how proud she is, of absolutely everything Maggie has accomplished. She tells her that if anybody deserves the love she’s found in Alex, it’s Maggie. She tells her she loves her and to come home again soon and Maggie grins like an idiot and pulls Issy into a hug.

As far as she’s concerned, Maggie Sawyer has only ever had two homes. One is in Alex Danvers’ embrace. The other is wherever in the world her Aunt Issy is.

A Soft Spot (Montgomery De La Cruz, 13 Reasons)

There was an annual scavenger hunt that took place every year at a local park in your town. You’d gone every year in your childhood, and it was now your turn to take your three year old niece. You’d convinced your boyfriend, Montgomery De La Cruz to go with you. He didn’t want to go necessarily, but he had a self admitted soft spot for not only you, but young kids.

“Zach is taking his little sister, and Bryce is taking his little cousin. I said we could meet up with them.” He grabbed your hand. Your niece sat comfortably on his shoulders. She loved Montgomery. Or “Monty” as she called him after hearing you call him that quite a bit.

“That’s fine. Where are they though?” Montgomery gestured to an area a few yards away. Sure enough, there his friends stood. Bryce stood with a young boy who couldn’t be older than five, while Zach stood with his sister who was a few years older than that.

“I told you I was too old for this, Zach!” His sister crossed her arms over her chest, she looked embarrassed.

“Oh yeah? Stop acting like you’re two.” Zach said in a kidding tone, bringing her into his chest for a hug. This seemed to lighten her up, though she still rolled her eyes and pushed him away.

“Let’s go Monty.” Your niece jerked his head towards the sign in table.

“You’re letting a little girl order you around?” Bryce laughed. You sent daggers his way. He knew this was your niece. You two didn’t like each other, plain and simple.

“We came here to do a fucking scavenger hunt, we’re doing a fucking scavenger hunt.” Montgomery rolled his eyes at Bryce. They were friends, but not so much after you two had started dating.

“Language, Montgomery.” You said quietly and sternly. You didn’t need your niece running home and dropping F bombs after hanging out with you and your boyfriend.

“She has you by the balls, doesn’t she?” Bryce nodded in your direction. Monty looked like he wanted to lunge at him, but you simply grabbed his bicep and led him to walk in the opposite direction.

“You’ve worked so hard not be such a hot head, you can’t let someone like Bryce ruin this for you.” Montgomery mumbled something before nodding in agreement.

A few hours later, after finding a few things on the scavenger hunt’s list, you guys had reached the words “sea shell”

“I see it! I see it Monty! Auntie!” She chanted on and on excitedly. Once you and Monty caught what she was looking at, you both turned to walk that way.

“I want to get it.” She said quickly. Monty knelt down and let her off his shoulders. She trotted over to the shell. Just as she reached it, so did Bryce’s cousin. Luckily, your niece grabbed the shell first. She giggled happily, turning to walk back to the two of you.

“That’s mine.” Bryce’s cousin said with little to no energy, taking it, and turning to walk away. Your niece was feisty, however, and she never went down without at least a little bit of a fight.

“Give that back right now!” She demanded. She hopped up and down, as he held the white shell over his head. She finally yanked on his arm hard enough to where the shell went flying out of his hands. Before she could take off running for it, he shoved her to the ground and ran for it himself.

“You little shit!” Monty didn’t take any hesitation before picking her up and handing her to you. He took the shell from the little boy.

“What makes you think you can do that? Do you go around hitting girls a lot?” The little boy’s lip started to quiver before tears streamed down his pink cheeks.

“Did I seriously just see you take that away from my little cousin, Monty?” Bryce approached. He didn’t look angry, just annoyed.

“He stole it from her.” Monty said, shrugging and handing it to the little girl.

“Woah, I’m gonna have to ask you to give that back to him, it’s his after all.” Bryce approached the little girl. You whipped around, shielding her from him.

“Don’t come near my niece, Walker.” Your maternal instincts came out as you grew more protective of her by the second.

“You’ll be handing that over.” Bryce said simply. Montgomery scoffed at the comment, as though it was an unbelievable idea.

“Enough about the shell, who’s going to teach your cousin not to hit girls?” Montgomery approached Bryce.

“I’ve never met someone who’s fought more people than you, Montgomery.” Bryce let out a loud laugh before staring right at Monty.

“I may have knocked a lot of guys around, but never a girl.” Montgomery stated. He seemed to want to make that very clear to anyone and everyone who may have been listening.

“You’re telling me you’ve never knocked miss priss around?” Bryce smirked, pointing at you. Suddenly, a growl escaped Montgomery’s lips. You’d never heard anything like it.

“Absolutely-Fucking-Not.” And with that, Monty lunged at him. You didn’t stop him this time.

Long story short, you all got kicked out and only Zach and his sister finished the hunt. That night, after dropping your niece off, you sat, visiting with her parents.

“Did you need to eat dinner, baby?” Her mother asked her. The little girl shook her head.

“Absolutely-Fucking-Not.” She said in a sing-song tone, before prancing down the hallway.

You slowly looked at Monty, who was bright red and refusing to make eye contact with you, or anyone else for that matter.

~Don’t really know where this came from, but I hope it was enjoyable. Request guys :)~

How about since the waitress apparently wants a baby and mandy wants a second parent for her son and also seems like a kind and well adjusted person, they meet somehow and the waitress tells her how bad the gang is, dennis is rightly kicked out back to the bar bc no mother should want that man near their child, and the waitress and mandy develop a healthy relationship that focuses on mutual growth and respect while also raising a baby together like they both want to because neither of those women deserve to have their lives ruined by the gang anymore that they have

i don’t think michonne gets much recognition from the fandom as a whole for how strong she is. and i don’t mean in a physical/she’s a warrior goddess way. i mean mentally and emotionally. the women on this show get praised so much (rightfully so) for how strong they are after losing people but never michonne… they all lost siblings, parents, lovers. but yall… michonne lost her BABY. i cannot even imagine the pain. the mother child bond is so strong. there’s no other love like it imo. no love as powerful. ik we don’t know what happened exactly but imagine. she wanted to protect him and couldn’t. can you imagine the guilt and pain she felt? and most likely still feels? and the feeling of emptiness and loss? oh my god. i’m so happy rick has finally found his soulmate in her. but i’m even happier for michonne. she’s not only found her soulmate, but someone to confide in and mourn with. someone to be vulnerable and let go with. she’s found comfort in judith and carl, and in turn they’ve gotten that much needed maternal love back in their lives. this shit is just so beautiful and they all fit together like a puzzle it makes me cry.

More Single Parents of Janus headcanons.

  • Strickler’s kid and little Enrique grow up into the best of friends. It just kind of… happens. Claire and Jim are together a lot, and Strickler is always finding reasons to be around and the babies just sort of get thrown together.
  • Otto does all the Parent/Child matching clothes photoshoots, and will cheerfully refer to the little familiars as Mini Mes.
  • The babies spent the last few centuries in stasis, being cared for by goblins. They aren’t afraid when their new parent’s face changes to something more inhuman, and they giggle at magic. The Darklands changed them, just a little.
  • On the plus side, all these kids end up with guardians who can predict their growth spurts down to a tee because they lived them. Puberty holds no surprises. On the downside… everyone knows exactly how the kids are going to turn out.
  • Looks wise, at least, because personality ends up being a lot more all over the place. Cheerful Otto’s baby self is a sleepless little hellion who runs him ragged. (And then grows into the grumpiest little guy.) Nomura has a bonafide ball of sunshine on her hands, she won’t stop giggling, why won’t she stop giggling? Tiny Strickler is always bouncing off the walls and hates reading. It’s a valuable reminder that they are different people.
  • Most of them are stay at home parents by necessity. They don’t want to entrust their lifeline to daycare, or risk some supernatural danger coming to their magic touched kids. Even Strickler takes a break, cashes in some of his savings, and focuses on full time parenting and part time changeling organization management. (They schedule Skype calls around naps.) He’ll go back to work when the baby is old enough to be in school. A few of the changelings who are married to humans (a complicated enough endeavor on it’s own, since most of those relationships have some, uh, fundamental issues) and have a little bit more backup negotiate part-time positions.
  • Nomura loves her museum and refuses to give it up, so she gets a baby carrier and does archival work with an infant tugging on her hair. Baby Nomura accidentally swallows a few roman coins when she gets old enough to toddle, but otherwise the arrangement works.
  • It helps that Draal comes over a lot at night and is excellent at baby soothing. In between apologies and life saving and mid-battle confessions, Nomura is willing to tolerate his presence, especially if he helps her move around heavy exhibits. They’re both going to live for centuries, they have time to work things out.
  • Barbara is actually the official head of the Order of Janus now. She took over in the middle of a bad situation, and since she can successfully negotiate with Trollmarket and flat out boss around the Trollhunter, everyone agreed to keep her. Strickler does a lot of the day to day stuff though. Barbara still has a job, and is a very busy woman.
  • Their relationship is complicated, but definitely there, and Jim has silently resigned himself to a step-sibling in the next few years. He doesn’t count on the surprise half-sibling, but he loves them both.
  • There is a strict “no children in Trollmarket” rule, instituted by Barbara, for the sake of safety. That rule gets broken during the rare crisis, when danger threatens Arcadia Oaks and it’s best to have everyone close to the Trollhunter in a secure place. Faye Lake is born during at Trollmarket during once such incident. Little Enrique and toddler Strickler are enchanted by their visit, and spend most of their childhood trying to sneak back into the place they can still dimly remember.
  • Jim, Claire, and Toby grow up and “go to college” (ie: get a cave in Trollmarket together and take online classes) but they visit regularly and are the cool older siblings most kids dream of having.

solrika replied to your post “fareeha has always loved cats but has been allergic to them to the…”

Satya gets her a sphinx cat and Fareeha is smitten with her little goblin baby.

yes!!! yes absolutely!!!

she’s their little goblin baby and her name is Pip (it’s a palindrome which fareeha thought satya would enjoy). despite her grumpy face she is very playful and she loves to cuddle with fareeha

and fareeha loves to cuddle back because!!! It’s finally a cat she can hold!!! and not suffocate on!!!

satya got pip as a “oh this is for you” thing and didn’t expect to be as invested in her as fareeha was but.

she’s so naked so of course satya has to buy her little booties and sweaters so she stays warm. and it’s so easy to make hardlight kitty scratchers why would they spent $50 on one when satya can just make one

fareeha refuses to admit that she jumped a little in delight when satya basically modified one of her turrets to use as a laser pointer for her because honestly it’s So Damn Cute to watch pip run and chase the light and be chased in turn

satya definitely enjoys playing with pip, whereas fareeha would just cuddle with her all day

(satya blandly jokes one day that her cuddling time with fareeha has decreased since adopting pip, which starts fareeha on implementing “daily family cuddles” in which either before they leave for the day or after dinner the three of them must cuddle altogether.

it starts and ends a lot of fights tbh)

the best picture they have of all three of them is when they all fell asleep and reinhardt took it. satya fell asleep with her head in fareeha’s lap and pip curled right underneath her chin and fareeha fell asleep with her chin crushed against her chest. pip’s purring = super soothing, super lullabye

Don't you ever get the feeling that Voltron Force's Keith looks kind of like a Legendary Defender sheith child just sayin

i actually haven’t thought about that before but you could be on to something! here’s a family photo for comparison; check those pretty kogane eyes and that strong shirogane jawline

(gee keith, how come the garrison lets you have two dads)

I really need to see the lead-up to that photo:

Like Harry seeing the baby for the first time.

Harry cooing at the baby and holding out his finger for the baby to wrap her hand around.

The parent being like, “Hey Harry, wanna hold my baby?” and Harry’s eyes lighting up.

Harry bouncing her a bit if she starts to whine and getting her comfortable in his arms.

Harry pouting a bit when he has to give her back.

I don’t know if any of this actually happened, but I like to think that it did.

My mom never even told me who my dad is. It was always just me and her and she was a terrible parent. She failed me every time… and i took it because i didn’t have a choice. She was all i knew, all i had. So i stand there in front of her and take it on the chin… and every single hit has hurt.
