She danced, whirled, turned round, on an old Purrsian carpet, carelessly spread on the pavement; and every time her radiant face passed before you as she turned, her large cat eyes flashed lightning.

Classicat #27: La Esmewralda, from the Hunchcat of Notre Dame by Victor Mewgo

Who is Esmewralda, the compassionate and independent Romeowni dancer? That depends on who you ask.

Pawsimodo worships her as angel; Clawed Frollo condems her as a demon or a witch; Furbus uses her like a thing (he was a decent dude in the Disney movie tho.) Pawsimodo sees her as superhuman; Clawed Frollo sees her as subhuman; Furbus hardly considers her human. She is seen as an object of worship, an object of lust and scorn, and just an object– but rarely as a human being.

And well, she is a cat. But that’s beside the point.

thanks to yoi for raising the bar impossibly high that i might never be satisfied <3

Chris Pine had been a student of mine in a senior English seminar at Berkeley. I have to admit, he was one of my favorite students. In part, this was because he wrote well. In part, it was because he was a complete nut. The last time I had seen Chris, he had run up to me in Aroma cafe in LA, a few days after the end of the semester in May 2002, begging to know his final grade. At the time, I was cupping a latte in one hand and trying to hold a poker face. It lasted about 0.68 seconds.

“Hi Chris,” I took a sip. “It’s nice to see you, too.” I looked around to see if anyone was there to witness me revealing a grade before the official end of the term. The coast looked reasonably clear, and Chris seemed SO eager to hear his grade. I lost the battle and broke out in a grin. “Oh, and I’m pretty sure you got an A.” In an instant, the man who would later be James Tiberius Kirk was jumping up and down, doing a frenetic fist pump and shouting, “Yes! Yes! WHOO HOOO!” at the top of his lungs.

Harry Potter and the Neural Network fan fiction

Or, what happens if you train a neural network on the titles and plot summaries of over 100,000 works of Harry Potter fan fiction.

In the decades since the Harry Potter books were published, fans have written literally hundreds of thousands of Harry Potter stories of their own, and shared them online. Can a neural network join in on the fun?

In a way, everything a recurrent neural network writes is fan fiction. A recurrent neural network looks at an example dataset (such as the complete Sherlock Holmes stories) and teaches itself the patterns and conventions that it sees. So, if it’s given Sherlock Holmes stories, it will become obsessed with Holmes and Watson, and if it’s given knock-knock jokes, it will spend all day telling awful knock-knock jokes of its own.

Thanks to an idea by a couple of readers, some heroic work by @b8horpet in scraping (with permission) hundreds of thousands of Harry Potter fan fiction titles and summaries from AO3, and a flexible new recurrent neural network implementation by Chen Liang, the neural network’s latest obsession is Harry Potter.

The Perfect Party by iamisaac
Draco has been left alone, and Ginny confused must learn and who has his best friend. They were breathed by a love that didn’t become his grounds and the flowers begin.

This is a typical example of the neural network’s fan fiction - romantic pairings of two or more Harry Potter characters (called “ships” in fan fiction-speak). In this case, it even has chosen a plausible author: iamisaac is a real and fairly prolific fan fiction author whose works do tend to be of the “romantic” variety.

Draco and Hermione share a whole indescribbening.

Again, “perverse_idyll” and “TheHexFiles_archivist” are fairly active authors. (Hi, if you’re reading! The neural network seems to like your writing, and is writing fan fiction of your fan fiction!) Those familiar with Harry Potter fan fiction will not be surprised to learn that the neural network really likes to generate ships; pretty much every combination of characters is represented (some of the more unusual combinations being “The Snow/Voldemort”, “The Ministry/Draco Malfoy”, and “Voldemort/Random Quidditch Child”).

By turning down the neural network’s creativity setting to near-zero, we arrive at its vision of what the quintessential Harry Potter fan fiction would be like - and we also learn its favorite ship:

Persuading by theladyblack
Harry and Draco are still a second chance at the end of the war.  Will they be able to do with the fairy tale of the first time they were a strange stranger to the street of the war and the war is over?

It turns out the neural network is obsessed with Harry/Draco, although in a pinch, Sirius/Remus will also do.

The neural network also seems to really like stories about Professor Snape trying to do rather ordinary things:

Deception by FlyingEyes
Snape is a British Robes of interesting things and worrys like a little fun and sees the pretty battle for a while.

Another thing that happened, which is pretty much my favorite thing ever, is that the neural network apparently encountered some fan fiction stories that were not in English. As a result, it learned to do this from time to time:

The Secretary Of the World

The neural network has also learned to employ capital letters:

And the neural network occasionally uses content warnings, although it seems to have a rather fuzzy idea about what to warn its readers about:

I met Jacksepticeye!

So I went to the Game Grumps Live Show in LA, they were playing Super Mario Party 10 and every time they got a mini game they called someone up on stage and I got called! I got to meet @therealjacksepticeye and @gamegrumps! They were all super nice and amazing! I was wearing my Darkiplier shirt and I told Jack he was my favorite YouTuber, so I’m glad he didn’t mind! I had the BEST night ever!

A Guide to The Adventure Zone metaplot

So recently, I re-listened to the entirety of TAZ in prep for the ending and took notes; as we head into the finale next week, I wanted to share them! This is a comprehensive look at every plot thread, bit of foreshadowing, and yet-unresolved ideas as we head into endgame. This involves heavy spoilers through the most recent episode (66) and assumes you have already listened or read the content before.

Truly among the most surreal of experiences was checking out the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure the Real 4D attraction at Universal Studios Japan! I posted a recap about it on Twitter (albeit while very delirious from exhaustion~), I wanted to note some other things about it as well!:

  • JJBA the Real 4D takes place in the same theater as the DBZ 4D attraction, which shows earlier in the day before it changes to JoJo. Whereas the amusement park employees are dressed in Goku’s signature gi during DBZ’s showings, they change into the Speedwagon Foundation uniform once the JJBA 4D Experience begins for the day.
  • Ride attendees play as a special SPW operative whose mission is to help Jotaro fight Dio
  • Joseph seems to have jumped back in time because not only is he serving as your mission director, but he’s clearly doing so after Dio was trying to sell him a Ginsu knife since his neck is all bandaged up
  • You’re equipped with these special goggles that are supposed to let you dive into Jotaro’s mind, which in turn lets you see Stands/from his perspective and a UV GUN THAT LETS YOU SHOOT SUNLIGHT AT DIO
    • The UV gun also has a timing mechanism in which it needs to charge after each use~
  • Once these ORAORAs and MUDAMUDAs get to flying, so does the shaking of your seat!!!
  • YOU GET LIKE 6 SECONDS OF ZA WARUDO’S ASS IN YOUR FACE IN FULL HI-RES 3D GLORY
  • BEING IN THE CENTER OF DIO’S SUR LA TABLE KNIFE SET IS SO GOTDANG SURREAL AND COOL AS IS BEING IN S. PLAT’S POV WHILE DEFLECTING PUNCH AFTER PUNCH
  • When Jotaro gets shanked, he looks down to the knife and you can actually see the manga that’s tucked into his shirt *w*
  • When Jotaro starts glowing and levitating, he turns towards you and has you follow him (as you have a jetpack) to where he knocked Dio all the way back to Phantom Blood! He even makes eye contact with you as he flies, nudging his head and thumb over like “Yeah…this way…” as you travel along with him~
  • I felt genuine TENSION when Dio’s approaching you, asking if you wanna learn how to swing while he’s got a street sign in his hand along with LOOKING RIGHT UP INTO AN APPROACHING STEAMROLLER
  • When Jotaro finds a joke that Dio made to be an absolute knee slapper, you’re given the chance to deliver the final blast with your UV gun~!
  • Having checked out the DBZ attraction, the splash effect in that ride comes from when Broly pops out of the ocean and breaks through the protective barrier of a tournament. JOJO’S SPLASH EFFECT IS DIO AND JOTARO’S BLOOD SPLATTERING ONTO YOU!!!!!!!!
  • ; u ; The ride ends with Jotaro offering you his thanks before he and Star Platinum give you a thumbs up and a small smile
  • Once the show’s over, you’re led right into the Jump Shop, where there’s a PLETHORA of JoJo merch to be bought!

“1997 or 1998… I think this was the first photo we ever took together. We had just told Chester that we wanted him to join the band. He said he was ready to move out from Arizona to L.A. We went to a pizza place near UCLA to hang out and talk about what to do next. The band was called Xero at the time, and we probably had less than a half a dozen songs. No flame tattoos yet, no red hair yet, most of us were still in college."

RTX2017 RWBY panel summary

I watched the stream on Twitch and will only post information that were meant to be on the stream. Spoilers for volume 4.

  • Pumpkin Pete’s cereal is happening, along with a bunch of other merch
  • Volume 5 premieres on October 14th
  • We will get three character shorts before volume 5 airs. They showed the one for Weiss on the stream and it will be out in about a week for everyone to see. Also not all character shorts will be combat focussed.
  • Monty’s brother showed up cosplaying Ironwood, he brought Haloid and Dead Fantasy posters he had found on an old harddrive from Monty and gifted them to the animation departmet.
  • Someone was asking about Tyrian calling Ruby a bitch or adding curse words in general because they said they wouldn’t do that on a panel a couple of years ago. They said they wanted to be specific about who uses them and why, also the show is growing up. In that scene it just fit the character and situation, so they decided to do it there and then, but they don’t want to throw it in just to throw it in and some words will probably never be said on the show.
  • There will be RWBY at NYCC.
  • Someone asked how Jaune got Pyrrha’s weapons after the fall of Beacon. That probably won’t be covered on the show, but Kerry said he imagines Qrow picking it up when he got Ruby. Miles mentioned something about spare pieces of armour because Pyrrha probably owned more than one.
  • Someone asked about whether or not Remnant has more than one language. Kerry said just the proper way to speak German (so I fully support people throwing German into fanfictions), but on a more serious note they said yes probably and it would be fun to explore that, but they probably won’t have the time to cover it.
  • Vic records all his lines home alone in LA.
  • Ruby’s dream in volume 4 was really just about Ruby trying to cope with what happend and also an effect of her overhearing Pyrrha’s voice every night while Jaune is training.
  • There might be some exciting news leaking along EVO.
  • Also they announced a new RT animated show coming up soon (but definitely not this year) named gen:lock, something SciFi with robots, I’m excited.

That’s not everything that has happened, but I tried to focus on the stuff that would be most interesting to me.

In honour of the 155th year since the last portion of Les Miserables was released on June 30th 1862, Google has dedicated a doodle to Victor Hugo.

Google says the following:

Today we celebrate world-renowned poet, statesman, and human rights activist Victor Hugo. The final chapter of his epic novel Les Misérables was published on this date in 1862.

Before he turned 30, Hugo was already an established poet, dramatist, artist, and novelist. Today’s Doodle depicts some of his best-known works, includingNotre Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame) (1831) and the poetry collection Les Contemplations (1856). Between those milestones, Hugo began his legendary novel Les Misérables, about social injustice, redemption, and revolution.

By the time Les Misérables was published in 1862, Hugo had been exiled almost 10 years for his political views. During that time, he produced three poetry collections, plus numerous books about social and economic disparity, including Les Travailleurs de la Mer (Toilers of the Sea) and L’Homme Qui Rit (The Man Who Laughs). Hugo later founded the Association Litteraire et Artistique Internationale to support artists’ rights.

Hugo appeared on a French banknote and is honored with streets, parks, hiking trails, and statues in most large French cities, as well as in Guernsey, where he lived in exile. Today’s Doodle is a fitting addition to the long list of tributes to the venerable Victor Hugo.

A sampling of some of the many, many universes in which Viktor Nikiforov and Yuuri Katsuki didn’t somehow manage to avoid each other for TEN+ YEARS and are already happily married (Inspired in part by the musings of @kiaronna and @pearlo on this topic from this post):

  • In 2010, Viktor is leaving an Olympic after party because it has just more or less dissolved into an orgy and that’s not Really his scene. In this universe, he decides not to go back to his room and instead finds his way to an outdoor seating area, which is not very heavily utilized given the fact that it’s February. There is only one other person out there–an athlete with his back turned, curled up onto a bench. The lettering on his jacket says Japan.
“Mind if I join?” he asks, and the other man turns to reveal dark hair and the deepest eyes Viktor has ever seen.
“Oh,” he squeaks. “No. Go ahead.”
They sit, and talk, and three hours later exchange phone numbers. Instead of going to America to train, Yuuri Katsuki goes to Russia to train under Yakov Feltsman. He takes National gold in 2011 and marries Viktor in 2012.
  • Phichit accidentally posts a video of Yuuri doing a bit of Viktor’s 2013 free skate to Instagram, instead of the hamster video he meant to post. The video makes its way through the figure skating grapevine until, obviously, reaching Viktor. Viktor immediately DM’s Phichit, begging to know who the man in the video is.
Yuuri wakes up to six missed calls, 609 Instagram notifications, 49 texts and a DM from Viktor Nikiforov.
“I WAS ASLEEP FOR AN HOUR,” he shrieks.
Phichit takes complete credit for their marriage in his speech at their wedding less than a year later.
  • Through the careful and judicious saving of money for several years, and because in at least one timeline the main waterline in the onsen and the transmission on the family car don’t go kaput in the same year, Yuuri’s family is able to send him to one of Yakov Feltsman’s ice skating boot camps when he is fourteen years old.
Viktor is there, all shining hair and huge smile and new celebrity. He has just placed at the Turin Olympics and is on his way to becoming a Russian household name, and Yuuri has been in love with him for two years already.
“Yuuri!” Viktor coos across the ice, over the heads of the fifteen other skaters in the bootcamp. “Keep your hips even! It won’t make it so hard to turn into your Axel!”
“Yuuri! Don’t hunch your shoulders on the spread eagle!”
“Yuuri! Your thigh should be parallel to the ice on that sitspin!”
“He’s incredibly skilled for his age,” Lilia tells Yakov in the back of the rink one day. “And Vitya has been behaving remarkably well, since he came here.” She fixes her eyes on Yakov, deep and determined. “He’ll be old enough to make his senior debut next year. If we groom him through his last year of juniors, he could bronze in his first GPF, or better. I want him, Yasha.”
Yakov Feltsman is not in the habit of denying his wife those few things she asks of him.
Yuuri Katsuki returns home after that bootcamp to pack his things and collect his dog and hug his parents goodbye.
“I’ll take good care of him, Mr. and Mrs. Katsuki,” Viktor assures from a Skype call. “He’ll be getting the best training in the world. I even have a poodle, so Vicchan won’t be lonely during the day!”
Hiroko and Toshiya just smile knowingly.
Yuuri Katsuki is newly fifteen when he moves to Russia and begins sharing a condo with Viktor Nikiforov. He is sixteen when he wins his first GPF silver, and eighteen when the Vancouver Olympics roll around and he stands below his best friend on the podium and accepts silver for Japan as Viktor accepts gold.
He is nineteen when, after five years of glances and touches and shared secrets and tears and laughter, Viktor pulls him into bed.
“About time,” is the general consensus to that.
They have only been dating, dating-dating, for five months when Viktor asks him to marry him.
“I know it’s quick,” Viktor says, “but I feel like–I feel like we’ve known each other all our lives, anywa, so what’s the point in waiting?”
Yuuri, of course, feels the same way.
  • Viktor makes a split-second decision to touch up his make-up before a press conference at the Trophee de France 2011, and as he’s patting the sweat marks off his temples hears the definite sound of someone crying.
“Um,” he announces to the otherwise silence bathroom. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah!” comes the answer, shrill. “I’m totally fine!”
“You don’t sound fine,” Viktor says, and ducks his head to see which stall has feet under it. In the last stall, he sees a pair of badly-abused sneakers. He straightens up and knocks on the door. “I’ll leave you alone if you want me to, but I can–if you want, I can show you a better place to cry. Than here.”
It takes a moment, but the door opens. The man in front of him has watery eyes and puffy red cheeks and Viktor isn’t sure he has ever found someone so beautiful.
“Okay,” he whispers, and Viktor leads him onto the roof where instead of crying, he stares out over the skyline and tells Viktor about his home town.
Viktor never does discover why Yuuri was crying, but he does get his phone number–and he does visit his hometown with him, a year later, to tell Yuuri’s family that they’ve decided to get married.
  • Yuuri is somehow convinced by Phichit to go out with a group after Skate America in 2013–Phichit is in his element, leading people around the city with expansive gestures and the effortless social confidence Yuuri has come to know of his best friend.
“You’re from this city too, aren’t you?” asks someone at Yuuri’s shoulder, and Yuuri turns from Phichit’s monologue to see Viktor Nikiforov of all people. Yuuri, distantly in the back of his mind, realizes that he didn’t see Viktor before because he is wearing a hat, scarf, and enormous sunglasses.
“Um, not from here,” Yuuri says, trying not to squeak, “but I–we both live here, Phichit and I.”
“But you know the city,” Viktor says, “so that means you would know a place where I can get the most disgustingly greasy food imaginable and you and I can go there and my coach never needs to know?”
“Yes,” Yuuri says immediately, because he may be timid around most people, and especially around his idol, but he has more than enough sense to realize that His Time Has Come. “I can absolutely do that.”
Yuuri takes Viktor to American Coney Island, where they eat loose burgers and chili fries and drink diet coke, which is the only cession to their diets.
“Oh Yuuri,” Viktor laughs at the end of the night, a speck of chili cheese still at the corner of his mouth, “I could fall in love with a man like you.”
    And he does.
  • Celestino wins a radio lottery and receives tickets to Champions on Ice in Las Vegas–he decides to take Yuuri and a rinkmate. Yuuri’s rinkmate is nice, but he doesn’t know her very well, and he’s several years younger. She also has friends in Nevada who she wants to meet up with, and Yuuri doesn’t know anybody in the state for obvious reasons. On the first day they are there, Yuuri’s rinkmate disappears with her friends and Celestino takes his wife and goes exploring on the strip. Yuuri stays in his room and plays Pokemon and Skypes his mother.
On the second day, Yuuri goes shopping for souvenirs for Yuuko and his family, and stares far too long at the billboard of Viktor Nikiforov’s face that is advertising the ice show. That night, he debates which of the three posters he brought with him he should bring to have Viktor sign, before deciding on none–the odds that he will meet Viktor Nikiforov tonight are practically not any higher than they were when the were on opposite sides of the world, and Celestino won’t want to wait in the long autograph lines.
“Don’t you want an autograph, Yuuri?” Celestino asks after the show, and Yuuri thinks it’s nice of him even though they both know that the polite thing to do is say no.
“No,” Yuuri says, staring at the long line, and continues out of the building.
They branch off then–Celestino has dinner plans with his wife, and Yuuri’s rinkmate is meeting back up with her friends for some clubbing.
Yuuri is walking back to the hotel when he bumps headlong into somebody’s solid chest.
“Oh, sorry,” they say, and steady him with hands on his shoulders. Yuuri looks up and finds the same icey blue eyes frm that billboard yesterday staring back at him.
    “Oh,” Yuuri whispers, wide-eyed. “You’re–”
“Shhh,” whispers Viktor Nikiforov, pressing a finger to his own lips. “Don’t give it away, I’m hiding.
“VITYA,” someone from the alley leading back towards the ice center screams.
“Come on,” Viktor laughs, and tugs Yuuri away by the hand.
It’s the spring before Viktor will cut his hair, and it flies out behind him in a magnificent cascade as they run.
They find their way into a club, where Viktor buys them drinks and laughs and laughs no matter what Yuuri is saying, and then drags him out onto the dance floor. Yuuri has not yet met Phichit Chulanont, who will drag him to pole dancing classes and teach him how to move his hips like a weapon, but he and Viktor get by in the crush of bodies, pushing against each other.
“I think I love you,” Viktor breaths against his neck, and they’re both three sheets to the wind, but Viktor is Russian and Yuuri is a college student and their tolerance is astronomical. They aren’t even stumbling. “I know we only just met, but I think I love you.”
“Then let’s get married,” Yuuri blurts before he can help it, and Viktor beams.
“Yes!” he cries. “Yes, let’s do that!”
It isn’t hard to find a place that will marry them–even though Viktor’s signature on the certificate looks more like a drawing of a tree, and even though Yuuri’s tie ends up around his forehead halfway through the ceremony.
In the morning, Yuuri wakes up with the worst hangover of his life, fully-clothed next to Viktor Nikiforov, and says, “We can–this happens all the time, we can have it annulled.”
Viktor stares down at the ring on his finger, tangled hair all over one shoulder. Yuuri realizes that he doesn’t even rememer where the rings came from. How much did they cost?
“I would rather not, if that’s okay,” Viktor murmurs, and so they don’t.
Yuuri carries out the rest of the year in Detroit, wearing the ring around his neck on a chain and thinking about his husband, half a world away, waiting for him.

Can you explain when to use para and por? I always get them wrong :/

¡Hola!

I answered a similar question before, and I made a Google document about this. But I’ll post it here (because I get this question a lot) with some extra things. :)

Well, first of all I don’t recommend you to learn “por and para” as “to and for” because this is not always correct, and you might get even more confused. The truth is that these prepositions don’t have an exact translation in English or any other language, so the only thing you can do is to know the uses and differences between them.

This is how I recommend you to learn them:

POR: reason, cause, method, way, duration
PARA: purpose, goal

I think para is easier to understand. Para always refers to a purpose, a goal or an effect. So if you’re not sure which one to use, ask yourself “Does the next phrase after para talk about a purpose or goal? If yes, use it. If not, 80% of the times is por. (I say “80%” because this is not an official rule. This is just something I thought about to help you choose the right preposition).

Now let’s see some examples to make this clearer:

por vs. para

  • ¿Por qué? - Why? What is the reason?
  • ¿Para qué? - What for? What is the purpose?

  • Lo hice por ti. - I did it because of you. (You were the reason)
  • Lo hice para ti. - I did it for you. (You were the purpose)

  • Trabajo por mi madre. - I work because of my mother. (She got me a job / she is the reason I got a job).
  • Trabajo para mi madre. - I work for my mother. (I work in her business / I’m her employee).

  • Una canción escrita por mi amigo. - A song written by my friend. (My friend is the reason why this song exists now)
  • Una canción escrita para mi amigo. - A song written for my friend. (The song was dedicated to my friend)

✧ por + [place] = way, route (focus on direction, not destination)

  • Por aquí. - This way
  • Me fui por la avenida. - I went down the avenue. (The avenue was the way I chose to get to my destination.)
  • Lo vi cuando pasó por la ventana. - I saw him when he passed through the window. (My window wasn’t his destination)
  • Caminé por el parque y vi esta flor. - I walked through the park and I saw this flower. (I was walking around the park without a definite destination)
  • Ayer pasé por tu casa. - I passed by your house yesterday. (I was going to another place and casually your house was on my way).
  • Viajé por varios países. - I traveled around several countries. (I’m not specific about each country I visited)
  • ¿Por dónde te vas a ir? - How are you going to go? (What’s the way you’re going to choose to go?)

✧ para + [place] = towards, “on my way to..” (focus on the destination)

  • Voy para el centro. - I’m going to downtown. (I’m on my way to downtown).
  • Nos vamos para Perú. - We’re going to Perú. (We’re on our way to Peru).
  • Viajamos para el Caribe en 30 minutos. - We travel to the Caribbean in 30 minutes. (On our way to the Caribbean in 30 minutes)
  • Voy para tu casa. - I’m on my way to your house.
  • ¿Ya vienes para acá? - Are you coming here? (Are you on your way?)

✧ por + [time] = for, in (during)

  • Trabajé por 8 horas. - I worked for 8 hours.
  • Se fue por días. - He left for days.
  • Ha estado viajando por meses. - He/She has been traveling for months.
  • No lo vi por años. - I didn’t see him for years.
  • ¿Por cuánto tiempo tienes que tomar los medicamentos? - For how long do you have to take the medications?

✧ para + [time] = due (deadline)

  • Tengo que terminar esto para las 8:00. - I need to finish this by 8:00.
  • La tarea es para el miércoles. - Homework is due Wednesday.
  • El proyecto es para la próxima semana. -The project is due next week.

  • Lo contacté por Facebook. - I contacted him by Facebook.
  • ¿Por dónde me mandaste los documentos? - How did you send me the documents? (Through what? what method?)

I hope this was useful! :)

Speaking of creatures coming from another planet, you recently collaborated with Alex Turner and Miles Kane of the Last Shadow Puppets…" -

“(She bursts into laugher and claps her hands) They are truly hilarious, two madmen. They do not live far away from me, in Los Angeles. I’ve begun to train two evenings a week in the studio of Miles, in the neighborhood of Los Feliz, to play with no goals with the Last Shadow Puppets. Then we go eat dinner together with their girlfriends in ‘La Poubelle’ What a squad! I can’t count the amount of times I’ve ended up on the ground because I was laughing so hard. They are capable of speaking to one another by singing, with improvised lyrics. For example, one evening, I’ve told Miles about the concert of Joan Baez which I attended. He has never heard about her. Alex made up a song on the spot “Miles doesn’t know who Joan Baez is” (she screams)… None is ever safe of their twisted humor. When I first met them, I did have the impression that I met musicians who only live for the music, whose only thoughts are about music. Singing with them is truly invigorating, there is no need to repeat anything, they always find a continuation.
