Talking about the last flashback, do you think Silver told Madi about the full extent of Flint's relationship with Thomas? Him mentioning Thomas to Mari threw me off a bit and I don't know if we're supposed to believe that he told her flint's secret or if he just told her that he lost a friend named Thomas or what. I'm loving all your thought-out answers this morning btw, they're making a fab episode even better. And your gifsets of course are killing me. Great job all around 👌🏼

Thank you so much!! :D

(Sorry for the late reply though, I got swept away with the new content)

I have to admit that that line threw me off too. I was surprised and a liiitle bit disappointed at first. At first!!! I was sure Silver would keep that secret because Flint told him that in full confidence, considered him the only person worthy of knowing that information about him because he trusted he wouldn’t use it against him or see him any differently for it. I was sure the reason for Madi’s initial mistrust of Flint was so strong partly because she didn’t know who he was, what he’s lost, and what that war truly meant to him. But considering she did know, this means her trusting Silver, a person she knows little about (considering not even Flint was privy to his life story and they’ve known each other far longer than Silver and Madi have) and not trusting Flint even though she knew he fights for his lost family doesn’t really make sense. She heard about Flint and Silver’s influence in the pirate world, she was told by her father they were both dangerous men, so why did it take her so long to understand him and not Silver?! Why did Flint have to make that extra effort to win her trust? Anyway I went off topic, that’s a discussion for another time and one that can have many interpretations, of course.

I think Silver might not have told her all of it, though. I can’t believe he would give away too much because he’s genuinely sympathetic towards Flint and his tragedies and as much as he trusts Madi not to go around and spread the story or even judge Flint for it, I feel like he’d consider it too private, too intimate to be shared so lightly. If she were to ever learn more about Flint and his relationship with Thomas and Miranda then Flint should be the one to tell her. It’s not Silver’s story to tell and I want to believe he knew that, especially given how long it took Flint to share that piece of his soul with him. However, even if he told her all he knows I don’t think he did any harm by it. I think he just wanted to show her that there is more to Flint than she thinks. That he’s fighting for something far greater and more meaningful than she and the rest of the world are led to believe. That he’s not all about destruction and mayhem, but rather about love because that is the root of Flint’s existence. Perhaps that was what helped her eventually see past the harsh exterior of Flint’s persona and allowed her to truly understand the broken man inside.

I liked the idea of living in a city- any city, especially a strange one- liked the thought of traffic and crowds, of working in a bookstore, waiting tables in a coffee shop, who knew what kind of odd, solitary life I might slip into? Meals alone, walking the dogs in the evenings; and nobody knowing who I was.

mistrel-fox created an awesome crossover with gf and fma, also did these amazing drawings. Oh man the ideas are so great.

With the twins losing both of their limbs, I imagined GrunkleStan being the suit of armor and well….. I got waaay too deep into this.

and it’s all your fault MISTREL

All that said, I wonder if there’s a fic where the fact that Keith’s crushing on Lance becomes a valid plot point? As in, if the team is keeping secrets and there are tensions, it’s harder to form Voltron.

So, it gets to a point where they know it’s Keith and Keith knows it’s Keith and Lance still doesn’t get it and everyone else is just like ‘whatever it is, it can’t be more important than making sure we can form Voltron so that we can, you know, stay alive.’ (okay, that was probably Hunk. You know that was Hunk.)

So Keith admits it, Lance goes red in the face, and things get weird, because although they’re now able to be all ‘we don’t have secrets we’re a team’ again, Keith’s now attempting to avoid Lance, who is going red-faced every time Keith gets mentioned because what the hell, man, this isn’t just something to laugh at when it affects our hero skills! How am I supposed to rival now? Rivals don’t act like this. They aren’t supposed to. What even IS this?

What makes it better - and worse - is that Keith is actually pretty good at pretending things are fine and going on as normal. It’s how things got to a breaking point in the first place. So Lance just plain doesn’t see how Keith’s feeling about all this.

And if he could, he’d realise that Keith, who he’d put on a bit of a pedestal because of the whole ‘rival’ thing in the first place (despite calling him ‘drop-out’) is actually mortified and feeling more than a bit bitter that he just had to get it into the open, he didn’t want to thank you, it’s not like it would have gone anywhere. Because it was a stupid crush (it wasn’t: not stupid and not really a crush when it affects Voltron, but that isn’t the point) and although everyone’s fine with him liking guys, Lance likes girls, very vocally likes girls, and why bother when there’s no chance in the first place?

But then one day Lance ends up finding him after a mission where they worked great as a team, which felt good, it really did, because there’ve been times lately when it’s felt strained, which wasn’t good.

And he asks, ‘Okay, so - this is gonna sound weird, but. Why?’

So they just… talk it out. It’s awkward and it isn’t romantic and it isn’t always nice, but they get rid of a whole load of misconceptions and misunderstandings, and by the end of it they actually know each other better.

This isn’t the end of things, though - Lance still hasn’t fully figured himself out, even if he thinks he’s figured Keith out. So he does what he does best when he’s confused and scared, and he makes a joke out of it. He starts playfully flirting with Keith as well as all the girls he meets. Just to test the waters. Just to see what it’s like.

But at some point it also becomes ‘because his face turns that funny shade of red’ and ‘because he splutters in the funniest way’ and ‘that glare is actually kinda cute’, and his flirting with girls and other people kinda slows down so slowly it’s hardly noticeable, partly because he’s still ‘joke’ flirting with Keith.

It’s then that someone comes up to him - Shiro, or Hunk, probably, but it could be any of them - and they tell him that maybe he should ‘stop teasing now’, because that’s all Keith sees it as still, and it hurts, and that’s when Lance has a major OH CRAP moment of ‘wait no no no I like him in THAT way’. And realises that he isn’t about to stop, nope, but he also has to figure out a way to say ‘I’m serious’ when he hasn’t done this before and how does he tell Keith all of this, anyway?

Keith is kind of shocked when he’s told. He just. Stares. Lance ends up running his mouth out of nerves.

Pidge may or may not have a photo of the kiss that follows.

Raw Meat

Theodore Not x Luna Lovegood headcanons

I’ve been missing my darlings, so here’s something I’ve been using as the base of a fanfic I’m working on…

  • Theodore has a favorite spot by the lake where he enjoys reading
  • In her fourth year, Luna is constantly exploring the castle grounds
  • As a new prefect Theodore finds her in various odd places, never really paying attention to what she’s doing before telling her to stop
  • Just before the weather becomes frigid, Theodore finds the lithe blonde in his favorite reading spot
  • His complaints die in his throat as he sees what is in her hands and all around her
  • “Is… Is that raw meat?”
  • Luna looks up, surprised to no longer be alone. “Oh, yes.”
  • Her eyes are bright, and Theodore notices she doesn’t have  a cloak despite the nip in the air
  • There’s a moment’s silence in which Luna continues to gather the raw meat together in a small pile
  • After blinking a few time, Theodore clears his throat, his book forgotten
  • “Erm… Where exactly did you get raw meat?” He takes a step towards her. “And why do you have it?”
  • Luna doesn’t look up from her work as she answers, “Oh, the elves in the kitchens are always kind enough to lend me anything I request. They really are darling creatures. Under appreciated by most, I would say.”
  • The meat makes a glop sound as she tosses another hunk onto the pile
  • Recovering from his initial shock, Theodore looks closer at the girl in front of him
  • “You’re that Ravenclaw girl who’s been snooping around the castle.”
  • Luna’s hands pause, a chunk of red slumping in her palm. “Snooping… Can one snoop in the place they live? I suppose they could, and the castle is quite large. I suppose, yes.” She tosses the lump of meat onto the pile, a smile in her voice. “I have been ‘snooping’.”
  • Theodore presses his lips together. This girl was odd, but not in an off putting way. In fact, he felt himself intrigued, curious even, about her. It was rare Theodore was genuinely curious about someone. He wasn’t quite sure how to handle the situation.
  • In front of him, Luna had gathered all of her meat into a medium sized pile and was lifting it into her arms
  • Theodore had never noticed before her quaint features
  • She had a small nose and beautiful wide eyes;
  • Her pale hair was flecked with pine needles Theodore supposed were from the garlands around the castle
  • After a moment he shook himself
  • “Exactly why were you gathering meat from the ground?”
  • Luna’s swept the area, checking for any missed lumps of red
  • “Oh, some rather unkind third years found it amusing to use it as quaffles.” She shrugged, and moved to walk away
  • Theodore startled, quickly following her. “Yes, but why do you have hunks of raw meat?”
  • Luna froze, turning to him properly for the first time.
  • “For the thestrals of course.”
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Fic: Flower Crowns

3.2k words, G rated

Scorpius and Albus sit in a meadow on a sunny day, make flower crowns, and talk about how much they love each other.

This was basically written just to make up for the terrible angst in my last fic. It’s also a companion piece to @platinasi‘s beautiful art. I hope it delivers pure fluff and great joy.

Thanks to @abradystrix for betaing this for me, despite having spent the day battling inclement Scottish weather. It’s always super appreciated. <3
