and everyone else in here

Dang! This blog is a total gift to the one piece fandom! Your work has such clarity of shape and tangibility of texture! It's simply fantastic! In addition to Matisse and Toulouse-Laurence, your work reminds me a lot of Maurice Brianchon and Bernard Cathelin both. Would you mind going into your influences? Also... as this is your side blog, do you have a normal blog as well? I'd love to see it! Uh... as for the prompt: Usopp and Goldenweek hold a life drawing session for all who want to attend.

Ahhhwhaatt this comment is seriously killing me!!! Thanks for those recs, such nice art!

Love this req! Franky was their model, cause who else but Franky would be!

+ Also here’s everyone’s fav pieces they did (cause I wanted to draw them allll)

i saw a post the other day that said ‘stop weighing people’s value by how much revenue they generate’ and agreed, and then i just stopped for a moment. because wow, i’ve come a long way? i mean, it’s not the same exactly, but when i was in school i hardcore believed that my worth as an individual was pretty much exclusively derived from my academic performance. i wasn’t quite so harsh on the people around me in terms of academics? but that was mostly because they all had other skills to boost their 'value’. like maybe they were good at sports, or could play an instrument, or were very beautiful, or something. i didn’t have those - or at least i didn’t believe i had those - so i just kept sinking my entire concept of self into the quality of my academic 'product’. it took a catastrophic mental breakdown to put the first serious dent in that, and going on four years gone from it i realize i’ve definitely grown into a healthier person all around? but that post gave me an odd little shock, reading it and agreeing to it without a voice in the back of my head saying except you. you’re worthless unless you’re producing results. i guess it’s a little pathetic, that my window of improvement has a benchmark labeled 'not constantly evaluating your objective worth on a scale of Garbage to Adequate’ - like, that seems like such a low bar to meet? - and it took me a long time to get here, but… i’m a little proud of myself, for that. i feel… good. generally, all-around baseline good. somehow despite everything that’s happening right now, and even despite occasional lapses, i’m doing okay? and i’m proud of that.

Thank you @house-reinhardt and co for the memories. Thank you all who came out last night. Thank you @emilliacorwin and @lordgabrielhartshorne for all your work you’ve done. Especially for letting the Clinic lives on @outreachclinic. Thank you @conwulf for communicating more to our characters ICly. Of course, thank you @madame-miersae for making House Reinhardt a reality, and thank you @gaveshillvack for your encouragement through it all.

Thank you everyone else who came out! Here’s to a brighter future for all of us and those who could not be there. @patiencekindnesscourage @lorna-rivercroft @caerston @missevangelinewinters @stromic-steel @beetmacdonell @gloryofsteel @the-canaveral

what ten fics you think EVERY d&g shipper should read? like the verrry best ones? ;)

I could never pick the 10 VERY BEST fics because I haven’t read enough to possibly be able to make that sort of claim, and everyone’s tastes are different. MY ten best could be someone else’s ten worst.

But if I had to choose one story that is a MUST READ for every single DG shipper, it’s The Good People by derryere. You can’t make any judgments about it until you have read the entire thing. The first time I read it, I wasn’t too sure about it in the beginning, but then I reached a certain part and I was sold. AXES, MAN. WHO KNEW.

If you like smut, you’ve got to read Smoking in the Head Boy’s Room by sugarbear_1269.

My personal favorite fics are listed HERE.

And according to Facebook and Tumblr, the most highly recommended fics are listed HERE.

Everyone else, feel free to leave YOUR recs for MUST READ fics in reblogs/replies, etc.!

Things that an elven Inquisitor probably deals with

  • Diplomats and dignitaries attempting to address their advisers instead of them because consulting an elf is like consulting a servant
  • Someone suggesting they cover their vallaslin with powder or tinted creams when they go to court, likely in the name of being helpful
  • Never ending backhanded compliments. “Oh Maker, they know how to use a fork when eating? Goodness they must not be so barbaric after all!” “How nice it must feel to have risen up from such lowly beginnings. Surely they never imagined such splendor and power, it all must be so new and exciting.”
  • Being overly-sexualized due to their race. “You know, I’ve never seen elven ears up close. Am I wrong in thinking they must be delightfully sensitive?”
  • Being mistaken for a servant. All the time, often purposefully.
  • Hearing knife-ear, savage, barbarian, heathen, and other more colorful terms both to their face and behind their back.
  • People talking slowly and loudly under the assumption that they cannot speak common. Add hand gestures for extra points
  • People marveling when they can speak and understand common without difficulty, thanks
  • Enduring suspicious looks and even comments when they dare to communicate with fellow elves in their own language. “You could be saying anything!”
  • Receiving gifts of art supposedly rendered in their likeness. But the portraits tend to hide their ears beneath hair and soften the angles of their faces. Curves and bulk are added in places where none exist and in short they look awfully HUMAN in all these paintings and statues
  • Hearing the phrase “for an elf/Dalish” way too much. “You’re very pretty–for an elf.” “You read so well for someone Dalish!” “You speak common so beautifully for an elf.” “You’re so intelligent for an elf.” Yes yes! They get it! They’re an awfully exceptional elf bc surely no other elves have any talents or wits or virtues about them whatsoever!
  • Dealing with constant (be they subtle or obvious) attempts to convert them to Andrastianism or whatever the shems call their faith
  • Weird and offensive assumptions. “YEAH ya know what? We DO offer blood sacrifices up to our gods– or at least we’re about to start. I’ve been taught that they see killing off idiots as a particular act of reverence.”

It’s the fourth of July.

I hear explosions outside.

I stand up from my bed.

I walk toward my window.

I look to the sky.

I see fireworks launched by my neighbours.

I open the window.

My neighbours are singing the Star Spangled Banner.

In their garden, little American flags in their bands.

You don’t see anything weird, do you ?

Well I’ll tell you.

I’m french.

And I’m in fucking France right now.

Heaven Sent index

Even from a distance, the villa looked enormous. Shouyou could see it perched on the hill from the time he set out from the temple, gleaming white under the sun during the day, and lit up by fires shining within its walls when he stopped at an inn for the night.

He had always seen it, of course, from the time he’d been small, allowed to play outside the temple in the dirt with the other children. The Centurion’s Villa, the owner of the land they lived on. For that privilege, they were taxed, though not an unfair amount. Every month, the temple sent an acolyte to deliver the payment to the villa, as a sign of respect to the one who lived there.

For years, one of the priests had been the one to make the trip, but he had twisted his ankle two nights previous. In his stead, the elders had selected Shouyou to go, because he was young and had enough energy for the trek.

They were concerned about his manners and how he would present himself to the villa on the hill, but after much lecturing, he was sent off, to fulfill their obligation and return. It had taken him nearly two days to reach the villa, but on the eve of the second, he’d finally arrived, as the sky grew dusky and purple.
