and even though that faith might put her in harm's way

You always have such great fic recs! I have a looong cross-country flight coming up and am looking for some multi-chapter fics to wile away the hours in the flying tin can. Preferences in order of priority: *very* in-character (anything OOC kills it for me), slow burn/first time, not AU (ACD is good tho!) Any rating. Have read all the fandom classics so looking for less-known or newish. For reference two of my favorite ever fics are Quiet Man, & Safe Distance. Thank you Steph! You are the best!!

AHHH Nonny!! Sorry I just saw this, so I hope I’m not too late for your cross-country flight! All I saw was “multi-chapter long” and I put it aside to attach to 2 other asks of similar requests. BUT because this is time-sensitive, I’ll give you a few to tide you over! I’m actually working on a TONNE of fic rec lists:

(essentially I create a new textedit document every time I get a “different” request from others I have) and was going to add this ask to my “long fics” request I received a month or so ago. Okay, so instead, I’ll pull some long fics from my “Fave Fics Ever” List for you that I have so far (I still have 15 more pages of bookmarks to go through, plus all 1000 fics on my FFNet account, so, WHEE. Being meticulous is ridiculous).

It’s hard to choose, so I limited it to my go-to long fics for you that I have ALREADY sorted on my lists you see in that window above there :D I’ve put them in word count order for you :D

TOP 20 FAVE 40K+ w. FICS || APRIL 2017

Goodness Gives Extras by mydwynter (E, 39,629 w. || Fluff & Angst, Case Fic, Oral / Anal, Humour, First Time, Miscommunication, Snark, Christmas) – Christmas time. ‘Tis the season to settle down with a drink, some food and a present or two, and to enjoy the quiet relaxation of the holiday. Instead, there’s a case that drags them all over, missing presents, disappointed kids, angry parents, and a freak snowfall. On top of that John has to deal with Sherlock, who is being even more of a prat than usual. He really shouldn’t have expected anything different. (okay I’m cheating with the word count on this one but it’s so good!! One of my ALL TIME FAVES)

Right Hand Man by SilentAuror (E, 42,031 w. ||  H/C, Injury, Slow Burn, Infidelity, Mary is Not Nice) – When John’s left arm becomes paralysed after a car accident, Mary asks Sherlock to take him back to Baker Street to recuperate, as she’s about to give birth. Despite the fact that the search for Moriarty is ongoing, Sherlock takes John in and takes responsibility for overseeing his rehabilitation as he adjusts to the loss of his arm. (FAVE FAVE FAVE)

Guidelines by WithLoweredVoices (M, 43,018 w. || Winglock || Angels, Fantasy, Angst, BAMF! John, War) – The Good Soldier, one of the oldest and strongest of the fallen, is offered a bargain: to live as John Watson and to Guide a fledgling archangel so that he will stay on the path of good. Of course, Sherlock Holmes has different ideas about his destiny. Fantasy AU. Warnings for violence, occasional gore, and a whole load of hurt and angst.

The Case of the Vanishing Pants by SwissMiss (E, 44,025 w. || Post-TRF, Case Fic, UST, Homophobia, Friends to Lovers) – Five times John and Sherlock lost their pants in the course of a case.

Left by lifeonmars (M, 45,153 w. || Magical Realism) – John Watson is left-handed. He’s tried not to let it affect his life, but as any Lefty knows, that’s almost impossible.

The Norwood Love Builders by flawedamythyst (T, 47,798 w. || Fake Relationship, Slow Burn, Post TRF Angst) – Sherlock and John go undercover to solve the murder of Joanna Oldacre, but things are complicated by the many feelings John has been repressing in the wake of Sherlock’s faked death and return.

Triage by scullyseviltwin (E, 51,612 w. || Character Injury, Introspection) – Sherlock’s mind goes exceedingly, devastatingly quiet and gray-blank. When he speaks it’s through a thick haze, it’s through molasses, he’s so disconnected from the words that it may as well be the unconscious shooter speaking.

Coventry by standbygo (E, 52,020 w. || Dollhouse AU, First Time/Kiss, BAMF John, Slow Burn, Falling in Love, Case Fic) – “Let me get this straight,” John said, wondering when his life had become a science fiction film. “Some guy orders up a personality, a person, to his specifications, and they program this into a real live person, who has consented to do this, and she goes to this person and acts as his wife, or lawyer, or Royal Marine, or Navy Seal or what have you, and she has all the skills, all the knowledge, everything? Then you say the magic words, and she follows you back to The House, and they erase it all until her next appointment?”

Guilty Secrets by Ellipsical (E, 55,055 w. || Drumsticks, First Time, Love Confession, Self-Sexual-Discovery) – John has a prostate exam and discovers something surprising about himself. Experimentation follows. Sherlock wants to help. They’re in love. You know the drill.

Wars We Fought, Things We’re Not by blueink3 (M, 55,204 w. || Parentlock, Fluff & Angst, Kidnapping, Whump, Post-TAB, UST, Slow Burn, Couple for a Case) –  Five months after John’s world has fallen apart, Mycroft sends the consulting detective and his doctor on a case that neither is prepared for.

The Progress of Sherlock Holmes by ivyblossom (E, 62,006 w || Sherlock POV, Pining, Angst, Slow Burn, Infidelity, Sherlock Learns About Himself, Happy Ending) – Sherlock struggles with his feelings for John, makes a mistake, and learns just how important he and John are to each other. Non-BBC Mary / John, but it’s a *complicated* relationship.

Perdition’s Flames by i_ship_an_armada (E, 63,435 w., || Treklock AU, Est. Rel, Genetic Engineering, Angst & Fluff, BAMF!John) – Sherlock would do anything to save him. Risk anything. Give anything. His money, his life. His soul. What he does, though, is change both of their destinies forever. Genetic re-engineering is the only option left. It turns out researchers underestimated the life expectancy and potential abilities of genetically re-engineered subjects. The British government and what would eventually become the United Federation of Planets, however, had not. Part 1 of PF Universe

The Green Blade by verityburns (T, 72,929 w. || Casefic, Bromance) – As a serial killer hits the headlines, the police are out of their depth and the next victim is out of time. With faith in Sherlock Holmes at an all time low, this is a case which will push loyalties to the limit…

The Moonlight and the Frost by CaitlinFairchild (E, 77,289 w. || Case Fic, Post-HLV, Self Harm, Virgin Sherlock, First Time, Oral/Anal/Rimming, Romance, Angst, Mary is Not Nice) – John has to somehow rebuild his life in the wake of Mary’s betrayal and Sherlock’s deceptions.

A Case of Identity by jkay1980 (T, 91,009 w. || Fake Relationship, Post-TRF, Case Fic) – John and Sherlock have succeeded in rebuilding their friendship after Sherlock’s fake suicide, but an unusual case puts their relationship to the test. They pretend to be engaged and attend a marriage counseling workshop. Under the pretext of the case, Sherlock turns out to be a master of seduction, and John finally learns he might like Sherlock more than he thought. Slowly, John discovers that he loves Sherlock not only in a friendly, brotherly way, but both men have to fight their own demons before they can think of taking their relationship to a new level… [[I love this fic SO MUCH]]

Shatter the Darkness (Let the Light In) by MojoFlower (E, 109,683 w. || GenieLock, Torture, H/C, Magical Realism) Fairy tales are for those who remember how to dream; not John Watson, broken and hiding from his bleak future in a beige bedsit. But then he discovers a lamp and finds himself in the dangerous riptide of an enigmatic man whose very existence is unbelievable, murder charges against his sister, and the growing pains of feeling alive once more. {{This is a REALLY great story, which tears at your heart consistently}}.

Breakable by MissDavis (E, 117,627 w. || Established, Fluff/Angst, Depression, Paralysis, Happy-ish Ending) – After John is seriously injured, Sherlock struggles to figure out how to help him, keep himself sane, and maybe, just maybe, get their life back to the way it’s supposed to be. Part 1 of Breakable Not Broken

Midnight Blue Serenity by BeautifulFiction (E, 151,907 w. || Friends to Lovers, Gay Bar / For a Case, Drugs, Pining, Case Fic, UST) – When Sherlock infiltrates a club in order to track down a serial killer, his altered appearance is enough to make John question his assumption that Sherlock is beyond his reach. However, is he the only one who appreciates his flatmate’s charms, or is Sherlock at risk of becoming the next victim?

A Fold in the Universe by darkest_bird (E, 152,857 w. || O-John, A-Sherlock || Body Swap, Crossing Universes, DubCon, H/C, Angst, Happy Ending) – Alpha Sherlock and Omega John are in a relationship. Prime Sherlock and Prime John are not. So what happens when a freak fold in the universe switches one John for the other?

Performance In a Leading Role by Mad_Lori  (E, 156,714 w. || Hollywood AU, Coming Out, Show Business) – Sherlock Holmes is an Oscar winner in the midst of a career slump. John Watson is an Everyman actor trapped in the rom-com ghetto. When they are cast as a gay couple in a new independent drama, will they surprise each other? Will their on-screen romance make its way into the real world?

Hello, in case you are unfamiliar with me or my work my name is PhantomSavage, a comic dubber on youtube that specializes in Miraculous Ladybug comics in particular.

I have been a youtube partner for a very long time, actually predating my work on comic dubs, and I hope that my years of experience with the youtube system and how it handles monetization can help bring insight to this art theft problem as well as hopefully clear up some concerns or misunderstandings anyone might have about MY channel and how I operate it.

To start with full disclosure I should state that my channel is in fact a youtube verified partner with the partnership company Fullscreen and has been for many years as, since my channel’s birth as well as some of the content I produce now, it is in large part a gaming channel which is the means of which I was originally partnered. All my gaming videos are monetized.

To prove this point this is a screenshot of my first earnings ever from Fullscreen’s website:

That is not to say I do not have monetized comics on my channel, I have both monetized and unmonetized comics on my channel with permissions granted by their respective artists.Unfortunately, the youtube system is far from perfect and one of its biggest flaws in this case is that only the content creator themselves have the knowledge of which videos are monetized and which are not.

I hadn’t considered this much of an issue given that I know that, even though I have made mistakes, I operate my channel with as much integrity and loyalty to the artists I work with as much as I can. That was until last night a friend of mine, @maristoryart, an artist I have been working for with some time now on both dubs of her comics as well as an upcoming fully animated project, voiced her confusion and concern when she discovered my channel was partnered and, therefore, capable of monetization.

I showed her a screenshot I had taken at an earlier time around the time Mari was having troubles with GeekTV (someone who I have a great deal disdain for) to prove I was not monetizing her work in case anyone asked or grew concerned.

Once I explained to her they were not monetized and later showed her the screenshot to prove so, she was very relieved and happy to be corrected.

But what’s troubling is whatever plug-in she was using to determine if my video was monetized was wrong, or was not depicting the information accurately as seen in this screenshot.

it turns out that a lot of people, like Mari, are rightfully seeking ways to determine what videos are monetized and what videos are not, but it seems a great many of the plug-ins and extensions they use are presenting information in a vague, misleading, or sometimes flat out incorrect way.

This is fine if you are using these tools to help make business decisions like learning of trending tags and metadata to increase the effectiveness of your own content, like I do, but this could cause some serious harm to some people and channels who are abiding by the rules.

Many plug-ins like Vid IQ, which is what I use, will display a channel as being monetized and display what mcn they are affiliated with. The mcn by the way is the partnership program the channel belongs to.

This is an example of what Vid IQ shows me on a John Oliver video:

And here is what it shows when I look at the animated teaser me, @maristoryart, and @lia-brisa worked on together:

it clearly displays my CHANNEL is making money, and my channel is affiliated with Fullscreen media, but it does NOT tell you if the video itself that you are watching is monetized or not. Which is just an annoying lack of a feature if you’re using it for business or for fun, but presents a serious potential harm if someone were to misunderstand this as a video being wrongfully monetized and a claim made against them without warning.

The teaser, by the way, is also not monetized:

its also worth noting that a lot of information in plug-ins and extensions like Vid IQ is often times wholly inaccurate, youtube’s revenue analytics itself are actually largely inaccurate and generally unreliable. Vid IQ claims I’m currently making $2,300 a month, which I can assure is off by well over a $1,000.

Though I have no screenshot to prove it as it wasn’t a worry at the time, in January of this year Vid IQ was telling me my channel’s monthly income was as much as $1,500, while youtube itself told me this:

Which was STILL not how much I actually received which was this on fullscreen’s site:

I say all this not just to deter any unwarranted claims against my content but also to help educate people going forward when fighting channels whom are REAL hazards and criminals like GeekTV. GeekTV has, fortunately, dug themselves in a very deep hole because they were both impulsive and did not act very intelligently, but the truth is there currently is NO WAY that I am aware of for someone other than the content creator to tell you if a video is monetized.

Not even the appearance of ads can really tell you if the content creator is making money off of it, as I found out last night when @maristoryart told me ads appeared on my dub of her comic which was not monetized.

This means going forward that artists need to be more selective of the channels they allow to use their art. When someone asks for permission to dub your comics and they are not up front about being a commercial or monetized enabled channel, check their channel out yourself, see at least if the channel is affiliated with an mcn. If they are, see if they have a good reputation, are they new? Have artists spoken highly of this channel before? Is it worth letting a channel use your art if you can’t find out if a video is monetized or not?

Ultimately, it simply comes down to “Can I trust this person?” which you will have to decide for yourself, and if you decide you cannot then so be it! Do not allow anyone to use your art in any way you do not wish it to be used.

Now, in the interest of good faith and full disclosure, I will be the first to tell you, though I have been doing comic dubs for 2 years and making content in general on youtube for 10 years, I have made some mistakes, and learned from them as I went on.

For example, when I FIRST started out, I did not ask permission. Comic Dubs were relatively new at the time, and even then I stuck to artists whom I knew had allowed comic dubs to be made of their art to other people, and I must say I very much enjoyed surprising many artists with dubs of their comics and their very positive reactions. I was EXTREMELY lucky that all the artists I had done dubs for up to a point were jovial or even happy with my now very foolish actions, like @spatziline.

Fortunately, I had done that with @hchano on one of her comics involving a piano and she very rightly told me to take it down and that it was not a good practice to use, which is why since then I have always asked permission from every artist I worked with from that point onward (With some exceptions like officially published comics by Blizzard and Overwatch, The Killing Joke, as well as comics from artists who stated publicly on their tumblr profiles they were fine with dubs/reposts being made with a link to the source material which I always provide)

And I have monetized without permission in the past as I discovered with @edendaphne as, though she did not contact me directly, I saw her post about being very upset about monetized works of her art of which point I unmonetized all her work on my channel and was extremely careful how I operated the comic dub side of my business from that point on. I do sincerely regret any feelings @edendaphne might have had if I were the cause, and am very fortunate she did not claim my videos of her work, I hate to admit that I’ve actually avoided dubbing her comics since then if only because of the shame I have of the idea I might have caused her. I sincerely hope that is not the case, and I deeply apologize if it was.

There have also been times and mishaps where a video was accidentally monetized or it slipped through because being monetized is a default setting for all uploaded videos until you specifically go into the settings and tell it not to. Fortunately most of these have been corrected (as far I know) with some exceptions like on or two videos which were monetized without MY permission due to the use of music like Lady and the Tramp’s Belle Notte which is a song that is monetized by Warner Music Group.

I am not perfect and I have made mistakes, and hopefully from mistakes I have made in the past and how I carry myself now this post will help both new dubbers and artists understand the youtube landscape a little better.

I would also like to state, publicly, that if ANY artist has read all this and how this system works and you just feel like you cannot put your faith in me, then I plead with you, please, reach out to me and I will remove any video with your art in it on my channel within 24 hours or sooner.

I had a gaming channel for years, it still is, I didn’t get into Comic Dubs to get rich or make a bunch of money, I got into comic dubs because it was fun to do, it was an outlet for my acting and to express myself, not to mention it was my way of making other people, especially artists, a sign of respect and gratitude for their skills.

If you no longer feel you can trust me, please, reach out to me and I will remove whatever you wish me to remove.

Marriage of Convenience?

Okay so I tried to organize my thoughts here, and I’m not sure I succeeded, but whatever this is all @jonsasnow‘s fault anyway (YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU GIRL)

There’s been some worry that Jon and Sansa will only get together at the very, very end of the story and it will be purely political just like Ned/Cat. I know this because I was one of the people worrying lol. While the Ned/Cat parallels were first taken as little blessings for our ship, they’ve now become so frequent that, coupled with the horrendous leaks, it’s understandable for people to fear “that other pairing” is gonna be the big romance and Jon will just “settle” for Sansa in the end out of duty.

I’m actually much less convinced this will happen and it’s mostly because of that glorious episode: “Stormborn”.

I’m gonna address the Ned/Cat parallels as a whole first since these seem to be starting to make people more nervous rather than confident. Yes, the Ned/Cat parallels are strong, bordering on ridiculous, and yes Ned/Cat started off as a political marriage with no love between them. BUT the thing to remember here is that Jon/Sansa are paralleling Ned/Cat POST MARRIAGE. They’re paralleling an established married couple that is in love. Does that make Jonsa romantic at this point? No. But it shows the love, trust and respect between them. And that’s important in any romance that’s built to last. Jon and Sansa have already made great headway in establishing love, trust and respect between them, something that probably took Ned and Cat years. Jon and Sansa are already there.

But is Ned/Cat really the only couple this ship is being paralleled with? NOT ANYMORE.

“Stormborn” gave Jonsa another glorious parallel with another glorious ship, one of the most popular ships in the series that has been sailing strong for years: Jaime/Brienne. Those little waves were the SAME FREAKING WAVES Jaime and Brienne gave each other when she had to leave Riverrun on a boat last season and he looked on from the battlements. (I think someone mentioned these two episodes were even directed by the same guy and WOW is that just epic levels of coincidence or does this guy really know his shit when it comes to awkward waves that conceal SO MANY EMOTIONS???) I think Jonsa has now gotten a very good parallel to another established ship in the series, another ship with the two people ~ feeling things ~ for each other that they know they shouldn’t feel, feelings that are problematic, feelings that conflict with the roles they’re supposed to play in each other’s lives

And then, there’s the crypt scene. Gods bless this scene. All hail this scene…..*sighs dreamily*

So LF comes down to get a reading on Jon or to get into his good graces or whatever and Jon keeps his cool throughout the whole thing UNTIL the moment LF says he loves Sansa….AS HE LOVED HER MOTHER aka ROMANTICALLY aka aka SEXUALLY. And THAT is the moment Jon loses all semblance of chill. He chokes the creep for like 20 seconds?? More? He tells LF not to “touch” Sansa or he’ll straight up murder him. He didn’t say not to “hurt” or “harm” (or “talk to” since there was some confusion about that), he said “touch” which is the same word he used when promising Sansa he would defeat Ramsay, the guy who touched Sansa in the worst possible way.

Why was this scene important? Jon makes the threat and then LEAVES WF, thereby making it a pretty empty threat. Clearly if LF tries anything Jon won’t really be able to kill him because he won’t even be around. But Jon made the threat and the writers wanted us to see it. Even though they have only a handful of episodes left, even though the threat won’t come to fruition, the writers WANTED US TO SEE THIS. Why? Why bother wasting screen time on an empty threat that doesn’t affect the plot? UNLESS IT DOES. My guess is the writers want us to remember how Jon reacts (i.e. goes COMPLETELY BATSHIT CRAZY) when someone makes sexual advances/threats at Sansa. Canonically, that is the only thing to make Jon lose his cool completely (Ramsay says he wants Sansa back in his bed> Jon near beats him to death; LF admits having the sexy love for Sansa> Jon chokes him). Jon is displaying signs of a guy who doesn’t yet know/acknowledge just how deeply, or on what level, he feels for a woman in his life.

Jon might not fully realize the depth of his feelings yet, but someone else certainly seems to have gotten a clue. Perhaps the most important part of this scene was when we see the clear confusion/slow realization on LF’s face. And that realization is that there’s more than just sibling love between Jon and Sansa.

And as if all this isn’t enough, there is one more ship that Jonsa parallels within this same episode (THIS EPISODE WAS SO GOOD TO US YOU GUYS I JUST CAN’T BELIEVE OUR LUCK): Greyworm and Missandei. Yet another well-established, well-loved ship that has been sailing strong for years. GW is leaving on a dangerous mission, possibly not coming back, but he couldn’t say goodbye to Missandei because she’s his weakness. In the same episode, we have Jon leaving on a dangerous mission, possibly not coming back and he actually doesn’t say goodbye to Sansa. Sure, we can’t really call it the same thing, because GW and Missandei have been aware of their feelings forever and Jon and Sansa truly aren’t aware of it at this point. But is it really so different? Is it really so far-fetched to assume that Jon couldn’t say goodbye for the same reason as GW? To assume that Sansa is his weakness? I think if there’s one thing we can take away from that GLORIOUS crypt scene it’s that if you want to get under Jon’s skin all you have to do is mention Sansa in a non G-rated context and BOOM you’ve successfully made the top of Jon Snow’s kill list, congratulations and good luck to you, sir. But what does that tell us? If GW says it with words, Jon Snow shows it with actions. Sansa Stark is 100% Jon’s weakness.

So what have we learned?

1)      Jon and Sansa have established a level of love, trust and respect that we have seen present in Ned/Cat’s relationship.

2)      Jon and Sansa seem to be beginning to have problematic feelings for each other that conflict with the roles they’re supposed to fill in each other’s lives, just like Jaime/Brienne.

3)      There’s more than just sibling love between them (and LF knows it)

4)      Sansa is Jon’s weakness.

There are simply too many romantic tropes being used for these two for it to end up purely being a marriage of convenience like Ned and Cat. (So far we’ve got 1) A bond built on mutual trust and respect 2) forbidden love 3) third party noticing something’s “not quite right” between them and 4) being each other’s weakness) They’ve already started down the path of Romance Tropes Galore, and there’s no need for any romance tropes if you’re going to put two characters together just for political reasons. There’s already more than sibling love between them at the beginning of s7. I believe it will grow to even more by s8 when they reunite and I have faith it will be much much more than that before anyone suggests they marry. Sooner or later these idiots will realize what it is they’re feeling for each other. The good news is we’re nearing the end of this show so it’s only a matter of time.

Have faith guys! Jon and Sansa WILL get married for political reasons but it’ll be perfect cuz they’ll already be in love!! Now that’s what I call a marriage of convenience! *throws confetti*

Dorne would NEVER be okay with Rhaegar’s actions

I just wanted to address this notion that is spread around that Elia/the Martells/Dorne would be okay with Rhaegar’s actions because of Dornish culture. I disagree completely.

One of the biggest flaws is this argument relies on a huge exaggeration of a stereotype and the idea that the Dornish are a monolithic group.

This is wildly inaccurate. If you compare Dornish characters you will see that they are in fact very distinct. I will use Doran and Oberyn Martell, even though there are many other characters ( like Arthur and Ashara Dayne) that can be used, to exemplify my point.

Analyzing the wild child's psyche

Okay, from what I’ve gathered from my numerous times watching camp camp (specifically watching my girl Nikki) I’ve come to the conclusion that

1) Shes smarter than she acts

2) She wants to feel accepted

3) She has a low self esteem

First we’ll address point one. Her cryptid like ability to speak inside David’s mind aside, she constantly is shown to be capable of coming up with on the spot plans and tactics. Her idea to stop David by throwing her pin for example, or when she made Neil into “Neeancy.”

As we’ve seen from the eggs episode, Nikki has a tendency to overthink things. Personally I believe that’s her adhd (do I need to explain my headcanon of her with adhd? It might as well be canon) at work giving her constant rampant thoughts. She’s likely always thinking constantly in that way, though it only becomes horribly apparent when she’s anxious or nervous.

Secondly, is her desire to be accepted. I think it was most blatantly shown in camp cool kidz (along with how gay she is) but it showed at other times too. Particularly the calculator episode and into town. Both episodes do well at showcases how she will do whatever someone says and even out herself in harms way, simply because they validate her. This is horribly unhealthy and likely stems from growing up under such a neglectful mother (one that invalidates her traumas for example).

Another example would be how she allowed herself to be nearly murdered by Neil (there’s no way you can claim she was fine during that part of mine freaked until Neil is done stuffing the rope down her throat.) just for the sake of proving that magic is real for Harrison.

That brings up another point. She idolizes people (Ered and Harrison) to the point of worship. She feels blessed just being in their presence and will fight the people she cares about or put herself in serious danger just to try and impress them.

That brings me to my final point. Nikki has low self esteem. This one is the hardest to explain without completely piggy backing of my previous points, because most of my proof is in those previously explained unhealthy mindsets and behaviors. She has zero faith in her parenting ability despite no one else having concerns about it, she constantly puts herself in harms way for the sake of people who validate her and will risk serious injury or death for the sake of those she holds on a pedestal above her. She doesn’t stand up for herself when the flower scouts insult her either, and described the time they ran her out as traumatic. I think that along with the subpar parenting she’s been offered are the root of self esteem problem.

Anyway I could just be talking out of my ass or projecting myself onto her or whatever. Let me know what you think.

(1/2) Hey, I've been scrolling through your tumblr (really love your content!), but there's one point of divergence I wanted to address: I think you're far too sympathetic with Daenerys's actions in Slaver's Bay... She didn't really want to free the slaves, she wanted her army and so freeing them was a convenient move. Her whole conquest is about deceiving others and there's a lot of arbitrariness in how she ruled Meereen. Those three metas talk about this better than I ever could:

I’m familiar with the meta. I think I need to break this down a bit, and my reply will be long. It boils down to damn skippy I’m sympathetic to Dany - but that doesn’t mean I think she’s an angel.

Thoughts into a Reality (A Langst AU Mashup Fic)

Part 1: Part 2: Part 3:

Part 4:

“Alright, Lance so we’ve never met a ‘Human’ before, and we have numerous species aboard the ship if you look around. When we meet someone of an undocumented species, we like to run tests. Mostly on DNA but we would like to get your permission before we do anything because we want you to know exactly what’s happening. So if you don’t feel comfortable with us running the tests, we won’t.” Ren explained as they walked down a hall. Lance listened with curiosity, he had never been tested on in his life, to be honest. He was glad to help them learn, so it didn’t take much consideration for him to make his decision.

“Yeah I’ll let you run the tests, I’m happy to help you all learn!” Lance beamed at Ren. He had been on the ship for three days now and was adjusting well. He became instant friends with his new Lenwra, he reminded him of Lance’s friends all mixed into one being. He found it comforting to know at least one person on the ship, other than their leader.

Ren was ecstatic with Lance’s reply. A huge smile grew across his face and gained a pep in his step, as he led Lance through the ship, towards the medical bay. Upon their arrival, Ren called out a few orders that sent the people in the room scrambling. He turned towards Lance and told him to take his shirt off and sit down on a metal table.

Nessian POV - ACOWAR Chp 15

First up on the Nessian POVs of ACOWAR is chapter 15 when Cassian, Rhysand and Feyre find Nesta in the library.

Velaris was full of life outside. Cassian could hear fae walking in the streets along with distant laughter. Except those sounds were dull in his ears as his heart thumped in his chest at the small tether that pulled him forward.

Feyre had only just arrived back in Velaris with the Spring Court emissary, though from the looks of it perhaps Lucien would no longer hold that position after they fled from Tamlin’s territory. Now it was time for her to see how her sisters were adapting to their new lives as fae.

Rhysand began tracking down Nesta, but Cassian already knew where they would find her. Exactly in that same spot she preferred among the bookcases with a novel in her narrow fingers.

He remembered coming to the town house after his wings were healed enough not to keep him bed-ridden. Every other day he would walk through those doors and seek Nesta out. And every time she would snarl and hurl vicious words his way when he offered to train her.

She was being stubborn. And skies above if he couldn’t help, but to do everything in his power to rile her up. Because seeing her anger was better than her hiding back behind that wall she always kept up.

He was afraid. So afraid that after everything Hybern did to her- Cassian’s mouth tightened.

He lost Nesta once and he was going to do everything in his power not to lose her again. Any moment it felt as though she could break under some pressure he was trying so damn hard to help her with. But every time he offered to teach her combat or even speak a word of kindness she deflected it as though his efforts were meager whims instead of tasks that he put his heart and soul into.

But he could understand her distrust. Even though it was misplaced. He only wished that she would have enough faith in him to know that he would rather die than let her be harmed again.

And so as he walked with Rhys and Feyre to the library. Cassian’s shoulders tensed in anticipation. Each step drawing him closer and closer to the female who he couldn’t stay away from.

The red stone halls were dim much like his siphons at the moment. Cassian’s wings rustled as he slightly rolled his shoulders. His muscles loosened at the movement, but became taught with every step toward the wooden double doors he had walked through so many times before.

He could sense her presence inside before Rhysand even opened one of the doors.

And there she was. Curled up in an armchair she preferred. A book was on her knees and her posture was calm. Relaxed even. Her gray-blue eyes focused on whatever was written on the page she was currently reading.

But before Cassian could enjoy the moment any longer Nesta heard them in the doorway. Her head shot up and her back instantly became rigid. She shut her book soundly with a thud while placing the book face down on the table beside her.

Nesta regarded them with a simple gaze. Though she was far from simple in Cassian’s eyes as he held his breath and watched her stand in a plain pewter gown that did wonders for her curves. The design for the dress was modest, but it didn’t matter. Nesta could command attention in anything she wore.

And her long dark golden hair was braided today in a style resembling a crown upon her head. Yet still hiding those pointed ears that she was ashamed of.

Many times Cassian wondered what Nesta would do if he unpinned her tightly coiled hair and let it hang loose down her shoulders. He was curious about how her hair would feel through his fingers as he pushed the strands behind her ears while letting his thumb caress the pointed tips down to the lobe.

But with her hair pulled up as it was today it showed off the pale skin of her neck. Cassian’s eyes darted over the spot where he had last touched her there. It seemed ages had passed since that time in front of the fireplace across the Wall.

Except he remembered each detail with vivid clarity.

The Racist Treatment of Bonnie Bennett

I contemplated coming up with some cool title with a ring to it, or maybe something veiled that made you scratch your head and wonder, before reading further, BUT… why not just call a spade a spade? - “But, BB8fan, that’s such a BOLD statement to make!” I KNOW. But don’t worry, I have the facts to back it up!

The definition of the adjective “racist” is showing or feeling discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or believing that a particular race is superior to another. In this article, I will prove that Bonnie Bennett has been CONSTANTLY treated, made, and portrayed to feel as though the predominantly white characters of “The Vampire Diaries” were superior to her. #RacistTreatment

Firstly, when it comes to men:

Bonnie Bennett has been treated, made, and portrayed to be the least desirable of the three female leads of TVD. While Elena was sought after by the hunky Salvatore brothers… and Caroline by the all powerful, Klaus, All-American, Matt, beefcake wolf, Tyler, Professor Alaric Saltzman, AND STEFAN to boot… BONNIE was sought after by Ben (who only wanted to use her), Luka (who only wanted to USE HER), Jeremy (who was grieving over the ex, he later CHEATED ON HER WITH), and Enzo, who had literally exhausted all other options!

Elena was given the show leads, Caroline was given literally EVERY GUY ON THE SHOW, while Bonnie was whiny Jeremy’s third choice (after Vickie and Anna), and irrelevant Enzo’s third choice, for that matter! (Don’t forget CAROLINE and Lily! ;)

WHY have BOTH of her only relevant love interests end up with her BY DEFAULT?! And WHY IN THE WORLD couldn’t Ben or Luka start out using her, and then GROW TO CARE FOR HER?! Why did her stupid STEP BROTHER not even want her?! She had to literally THROW herself at him! WHY DID THE WRITERS TREAT THE BEAUTIFUL BONNIE BENNETT IN SUCH A DEMEANING MANNER??! In my opinion, she’s the most gorgeous of all the females, but NO. TVD made her undesirable. They put her white friends on a pedestal, and portrayed her as the inferior oddball NOBODY wanted and NOBODY CHOSE FIRST. #RacistTreatment

But in case you need more evidence…

Secondly, when it comes to empowerment:

Bonnie Bennett has been treated, made, and portrayed to be the most powerless out of the three female leads of TVD. ‘How so? Elena was a weak human for 3 seasons! And Bonnie’s the baddest witch in the land!’ I’m glad you asked… YES Bonnie’s a fierce witch, and yes, Elena was human for 3 seasons. BUT!

1) Bonnie was possessed, beyond her control. (S1)
2) Bonnie was held back by Stefan, while Damon KILLED HER MOTHER. (S3)
3) Bonnie was CONSISTENTLY FORCED to do magic for Klaus! (S3)
4) Bonnie helplessly witnessed her grandmother being tortured by the spirits, to the point where she lost the ability to do her magic. (S4)
5) Bonnie had to lay there and watch Jeremy die right in front of her! (S4)
7) Bonnie lost her magic. (S5)
8) Bonnie became the anchor, and had to undergo enormous magnitudes of pain. (S5)
9) Bonnie was stabbed, chased, and tormented by Kai. (S6)
10) Bonnie had no magic. (S6)
11) Bonnie was hunted by the armory and had no magic. (S7)
12) Bonnie had NO MAGIC! (S8)

So yes, Bonnie’s an all powerful witch! But HALF THE SERIES she’s spent WITHOUT HER MAGIC! Elena was weak and human, and used for the cure! BUT Bonnie has been used as a magical tool EVERY OTHER EPISODE - and by literally EVERY character on the show! It’s not just Klaus and Katherine who’ve made her feel powerless! BUT Damon, Stefan, Katherine, Klaus, Silas, Enzo, and EVERYONE!!!

Elena watched Jenna die. But Bonnie watched Jeremy AND her DAD die! She found her Grams dead, and was held back while her Mom was killed!

This woman has been beaten down in ways that are just deplorable and unheard of! She has been FORCED, she has been ABUSED, she has been TRAUMATIZED in the appalling ways she’s been made to feel and be POWERLESS! More times and with more damaging magnitudes than with any other female lead! Fight me on this! It’s #RacistTreatment

But just in case you still REFUSE to see the light…

Lastly, when it comes to worth:

This is the most serious and damaging of them all! Fine! Portray your only lead POC character as undesirable! Portray her as powerless! But worthless? This is just unacceptable… But TVD did it! My gosh they DID it with Bonnie Bennett!

Caroline doesn’t put her life above Elena’s so why should Bonnie? TIME AFTER TIME AGAIN??! And then not only does she do it with Elena, she does it FOR JEREMY TOO!!! She literally GAVE HER LIFE for the two them! For Jeremy to be alive, and for Elena to be “happy,” she GAVE UP HER LIFE, because it is worth THAT little! Or so the show would have Bonnie believe, - AND the other characters, as no one has ever corrected her, - and we, the viewing audience!

This is unhealthy, abusive, and DAMAGING, this belief system! But it has gone unchecked and uncorrected for YEARS! AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY,  the one time people claim their “superior” white faves did sacrifice for Bonnie is complete BS! Talk about #RacistTreatment

The ignorance of the show BLEEDS into the fans/viewers of it, and it is SCARY! To say that Elena or Damon sacrificed ANYTHING in season 6, when Kai linked her life to Bonnie’s, is not only absurd, it’s HORRIFYING! I don’t know if people are losing brain cells watching this terribly written show, but Elena was IN A MAGICAL COMA! That was done! It happened! – NOW. The loophole is that she could wake up, IF BONNIE DIES! So when people say Elena sacrificed, and Damon sacrificed, they’re literally saying “Delena didn’t KILL Bonnie, they’re supposed best friend! What a sacrifice!”

They’re literally patting them on the back, for not MURDERING their “friend!” Do you realize how messed up that is?!… But then again, a messed up ship breeds messed up fans! And a messed up show breeds messed up viewers! Bonnie’s life isn’t worth anything! That’s been the running theme of the show! So why wouldn’t viewers pat DE on the back for not killing her?! She isn’t worth crap!

“Bonnie’s superiors are her white friends, and she needs to be ready and willing to lay down her life for them, at all times!”

That’s the message of TVD. I am SICK. I am utterly disgusted and SICK! I cannot BELIEVE I wasted SO MANY years of my life on this show, thinking they cared about this beautiful person of color! CONVINCING myself they were saving Bonnie for DAMON, and that was the reason for her lack of love interest! Reasoning they were making Bonnie a stronger, more layered character, by putting her through so much crap! Believing they’d have the right man DECLARE Bonnie’s worth to her, and put a stop to her self harm!

They’re not saving Bonnie for Damon. Why would they put the “inferior black girl” with one of the most desirable males of the series?! Even though Bamon is canon in the books, they will not even share a KISS! They will be the only important book!ship left COMPLETELY UNEXPLORED (they even did Meredith/Alaric!), when if this were Bonnie Mccullough they’d already be MARRIED!

You know, back in season 3 of the show, I started to wish for Bonnie’s death. I thought, ‘if her character is going to be used and abused THIS much, she might as well be gone… Kat Graham deserves better, and I deserve better than to be stuck watching this show for her!’ But TVD kept her alive. They kept their token black person to keep their demographic viewers.

And yeah, a couple seasons later things seemed to be getting better… but then season 8 happened. :/ But I guess I should be thankful! My eyes are OPENED because of it.

Bonnie Bennett is ENDLESSLY treated, made, and portrayed to feel undesirable, powerless, and worthless, next to her white friends. It’s #RacistTreatment and she deserves better. Kat Graham deserves better. And we as VIEWERS deserve better.

I am SO DONE with this show, and I hope you will be to! Don’t put yourself through the heartache! Don’t put yourself through the twisted brainwash! I wish more than ever now that Bonnie Bennett would die. There’s just no winning. :/ She deserves better than emo Enzo AND self-centered Damon, who doesn’t give a crap about her! So just kill her! The writers have been emotionally stabbing her from the beginning anyways…

I’m hurt. This hurts me… In a world full of constant injustice for people of color, I thought I was finally witnessing a powerful character… an attractive and beautiful black woman, who would be cared for and loved by others… It turns out she was nothing more than a plot line punching bag, created to make Elena, Caroline, the writers, and the viewers of this show feel better about themselves. :/ The abuse Bonnie Bennett has undergone has abused me worst than I think I’ve ever experienced in life. They have subliminally consistently told me I am less desirable, less powerful, and less worthy. I didn’t realize it before unfortunately, but I realize it now! And I’m DONE listening to the lies!

Well, I hope this article has enlightened you all! Don’t get so happy next time you see a diverse cast! Pay attention to the way the show/movie TREATS their people of color! Don’t be fooled, and left heartbroken and damaged, after believing and putting your faith and support into complete filth…

Last, but not least, don’t let the ugly behavior of this world turn you into the very thing you despise. Fight hate with LOVE! And remember, we’re all brothers and sisters, whether we like it or not!

Pray for the writers of TVD. Pray for the actors. Pray for it’s fans. Pray that they see the error of their ways, and learn to love and treat others the way they’d want to be treated… We all make mistakes. We’re all human. “We all have sinned.” Now it’s about moving FORWARD from that, and not repeating the same mistakes! :)

P.S. Go show Kat Graham’s twitter page some love! As hurt as I am by Bonnie’s treatment, she’s probably 10x more hurt! It’s probably why she decided to leave the show! She knew things weren’t going to get any better for her… :/ Anyhow, go show her some love! Thank her for gifting us with the lovely Bonnie Bennett! And compliment her on being the gorgeous and talented PROFESSIONAL she has always been!

God bless!

If Lindo Tachibana and Yui Komori were to meet, how would they get along? I was thinking about rejet vampires who would be a healthy match for yui and then I suddenly thought about Lindo. The two have a lot in common and I wanna know their dynamics as a couple and as friends. I just had a thought that yui would be the ideal girl for lindo to move on and lindo shares both hobbies and virtues with yui and it would be a refreshing change from the usual stockholm love yui regularly suffers from.

I have never watched Dance With Devils before so I’m not really sure how to answer this question.

And oh gosh, do people really think Yui Komori is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome??? Do ya’ll even know what that is??? I have to disagree with you on the “usual stockholm love yui regularly suffers from” part then and here’s why.

People who have fallen victim to Stockholm Syndrome are in this endless motion where everything seems fine and they are “in love” with their abusers and they later become “child-like” towards their captors, but Yui was actually frightened by a majority of the boys when she first met them and she has NEVER acted like a child around them. She’s always been on the high alert around them and she had negative feelings towards the boys before the romance aspects started. In a few routes, she’s even killed the Sakamaki boys/family becase she saw that as a way to escape from the hell she was experiencing. Stockholm Syndrome victims DO NOT do this. They usually remain where they are and submit to their captors because they believe that this is how they will live from now on. As a psychiatrist named Dr. Frank Ochberg once stated when creating a definition for this phenomenon:

“The hostages experience a powerful, primitive positive feeling towards their captor. They are in denial that this is the person who put them in that situation. In their mind, they think this is the person who is going to let them live.”  -Dr. Frank Ochberg.

Not once was Yui ever in denial of the hell she was in. She was mentally capable and fully aware of her situation. And it must be noted that during her first few weeks at the Sakamaki mansion, she was horrified and hated the place. She wanted out. One example of her exclaiming this was in the anime when she discovers how the triplets murdered Cordelia and she asked if Subaru was aware of this fact. I don’t think that’s a sign that she is a victim of Stockholm Syndrome, especially since the viewers and players are made to comprehend that Yui’s situation is unusual and frightening because she’s surrounded by Do-S vampires ready to kill or harm her at any moment’s notice. She does what she can to survive, but Yui doesn’t start to show affection to any of the boys until they do. They have to make the first move, and we then see that as the player/Yui.

While Yui does fall in love with the boys depending on which route you play later, it’s also because of a thing called story and character development. The fact that her kind, compassionate, and faithful personality was a light to the boys’ lives changed the way they acted towards her. Dark Fate especially shows this and with the events in Lost Eden, I would even dare to say that something in each of the boys made them realize how she was important to them. She was someone that they were now fond of. Their relationship has improved tremendously since Haunted Dark Bridal because no joke, the first original game was extremely dark and horrifying compared to the newer games. Even though Diabolik Lovers is not the typical otome game catered to those who desire fluff and romance, I will say that it shows a different side that an otome game never really shows, and I and other fans are intrigued by it. An interesting story with complex characters? Sign me up.

I could literally go on and on about this but to sum things up and to spare your time, Yui Komori is NOT a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.

Repeat after me, Yui Komori is NOT a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.

Please be very careful of what you believe in/say. You might as well call the rest of the Diabolik Lovers fandom victims of Stockholm Syndrome since we play as “Yui” and see and feel everything she does in the series.

Do you see the fallacy in your statement now?

Buffy’s “Empty Places”: Deconstructing Merit, Luck, and Betterment

Anyone who’s spent five minutes with me knows that I love ranty metas, and Buffy’s “Empty Places” is something I’ve wanted to tackle since I finished it. However, rather than try to unravel the entirety of that shit-show conversation I want to focus in on what Anya says near the end.

You really do think you’re better than we are. But we don’t know. We don’t know if you’re actually better. I mean, you came into the world with certain advantages, sure. I mean, that’s the legacy. But you didn’t earn it. You didn’t work for it. You’ve never had anybody come up to you and say you deserve these things more than anyone else. They were just handed to you. So that doesn’t make you better than us. It makes you luckier than us.

Here Anya lays out three important questions that I think are crucial to interpreting the Buffyverse.

  • Did Buffy “earn” her power?
  • Is she “luckier” than her friends?
  • Is Buffy “better” than her friends? And what exactly does “better” mean in this context?

Honestly, I still stand amazed that Anya can even voice the first two questions among Buffy’s friends and not get immediate, wicked backlash. Admittedly her use of “luckier” could be interpreted to mean “randomly,” but her word choice is still significant. Buffy is by no stretch of the imagination lucky. Does her calling give her purpose? Yes. Does it give her cool superpowers? Absolutely. But none of these benefits are free gifts—they’re balanced, even outweighed, by her responsibilities. This calling means that Buffy has no other options in her life, no career or family as a ‘normal’ person would experience it. Her powers are to keep herself and others safe, not to have fun with. Buffy didn’t win the freaking lottery here, this life was forced on her.

da:o companions react to finding out that the Warden is the Herald of Andraste

Alistair: Is floored. All that time together, and the Herald of Andraste was right by his side? He’s amazed…and honestly, a little bit unsure. Did they know about Andraste? Did they just not trust him? He reassures himself that it was just never the right time. If King: Will assist them in any way he can with the resources Ferelden can spare, and immediately organises a strong alliance with the Inquisition. He also suspects that the title may be more of a political play than anything, but a part of him does still wonder. If romanced: His self-doubt is still the same, but he also cannot help but wonder if this rumour and title might not be true. Surely the Warden would have told him something so important, especially after he told them his secret. He decides to put his faith in his love and find out the truth for himself.

Oghren: Doesn’t really understand the significance of this. He assumes it’s just another fancy title for them, and hey, they deserve another one, so who is he to disagree? The moment he hears about the actual danger the Herald is in, he practically barrels his way over to the Inquisition because there is no way that the Warden is facing this bullshit without him by their side.

Sten: He disapproves of the Warden if they accept this title, as he obviously doesn’t particularly care about the human’s beloved god. If he only hears of this as a rumour, he dismisses it immediately. He knows that the Warden is more logical than to think that they were sent by a god. He does make sure to have a discreet conversation with the Ben-Hassrath about their safety, clearly because the Warden holds the fate of the whole world in their hand again and their safety is very important.

Shale: Like Oghren, they don’t understand the significance, and quite frankly, they don’t care. They haven’t managed to keep up with all of the squishy Warden’s accolades, and just assumes it’s yet another one of them. When the danger of the Breach becomes obvious, Shale pretends that they don’t care, but over the following weeks, finds themselves travelling closer and closer to the Inquisition. Eventually, they’ll appear at the gates of the Inquisition and announce that they are here to “make sure that the squishy one doesn’t do anything foolish.”

Zevran: Zevran would likely understand that the title was a political play, and would be more concerned with how the Herald was coping with the new social pressures, especially non-Andrastian Heralds. Gradually, he would make his way towards the Inquisition’s base, sussing out the political landscape and trying to make sure that there was no way his former associates could sneak a knife into the Herald’s back. He would eventually join up with Leliana and help to protect their old friend. If romanced: He rushed back to their side the moment they were captured, and had to be stopped by Leliana from sneaking into the cell and busting the Warden out. He stays at their side through the entire events of Inquisition and helps to protect them from would-be assassins and assists Leliana.

Leliana: She obviously already knew that it was just something that the people had been saying, and that the Inquisition had been encouraging. She had been mortified to see her old friend injured and hurt at the Conclave and adamantly defended them against the remaining Chantry clerics’ accusations. She made sure to post guards outside their cell to make sure that nobody could sneak in. After hearing the Warden’s story about what happened in the Fade, she couldn’t help but wonder about the woman who was with them. Somewhere deep inside herself, a part of her dared to hope it was Andraste looking over them once more. If romanced: Doesn’t leave their side until they wake. She has already lost so much to this disaster, she is not going to lose her love as well. She constantly asks the Warden about the mark on their hand, and is upset at how much pain it is causing them. She wishes there was more she could do.

Morrigan: When she heard that her friend was the Herald of Andraste, she laughed. The lengths that foolish religious folk would go to justify something they could not possibly bring themselves to understand. She pitied the Warden for having to be so heavily involved with the Chantry, particularly if the Warden is non-human and doesn’t care for the Chantry. She is much more fond of the title of Inquisitor and finds it much more appropriate for her old friend (though it brings up bad memories of traipsing through Orzammar to find nugs). She makes sure to try and influence the empress to be more open to the Inquisition. When she is assigned to the Inquisition, she is glad to be reunited with her old friend and speaks with them frequently. She would even say she begins to feel nostalgic. If romanced: She won’t be Chantry-affiliated and join the Inquisition at the beginning, but she will aid the Warden however she can. She tries to help with the pain of the Mark as much as possible, and is frustrated when nothing seems to be helping.

Loghain: Understands immediately that the title is a political play, and he rolls his eyes at the thought of the Warden being subjected to the games of pompous nobles. Again. He continues to flee from the Wardens but would likely make his way to the Inquisition to meet up with his old companion. He is sure that they would understand the clarity of the Wardens’ situation, and would shelter him from the rest of them. He knows that the Warden would already have a rocky relationship with the Warden-Commander of Orlais after what happened during the Blight, so he would feel somewhat safer behind Inquisition walls for a time. Besides, while he’s there, he can help keep the Warden safe from harm, and probably oversee the Inquisition’s commander’s work and offer some…discreet advice here and there. He was not known as the Hero of River Dane for nothing, after all.

Wynne: On a day when the Warden was doubting themselves, Cole suddenly appeared next to them and said, “Gentle, warm, so very kind; she watches over you. She remembers; flashes of a campfire, a healing hand, a dragon circling overhead. She knows you. She wants you to know: “I’m here. I have faith in you. There is nobody else more capable of defeating this evil. My old friend…believe in yourself.””Cole smiled. “She is kind, like a mother, a teacher. I like her.”

Dog: Is right by the Herald’s side. He really doesn’t like the glowy mark on the Warden’s hand because he knows that it is hurting them, so he tries to lick it to make the pain go away. He doesn’t get along with Chancellor Roderick at all and once tried to tear off the back of Roderick’s Chantry robes. For some strange reason, he tends to growl at Solas quite a lot.

104 to 404 Parallels.

I’m a parallel hoe guys, I know lots of people don’t like terming the constant similar scenes the show gives us as such, but….what else can you call them?

104 moments will be in italics, 404 moments will be in bold. Conversational similarities in bolded italics.

So…here we go:

Clarke is angry with Abby, decides to “make her feel it” by cutting off her own wristband.

Abby’s response to Clarke’s fake death? “No! No. Hell no. No.”

A parent believing they’ve lost a child? Similar to Bellamy believing he’s lost Octavia, the sister he’s raised as if he were her father. Even the verbal response is the same.

Monty removes Clarke’s wristband and hopes to use it to communicate with the Ark

Clarke disguises her need to punish her mother as a means of helping the Ark.

This is a parallel to Octavia’s bad attempt to disguise her need for vengeance as saving her people

The Delinquents are trying to build a wall to keep the Grounders out.

A parallel to the Arkadians making repairs to the Ark to keep the radiation out.

Octavia is trying to help Jasper conquer his fear of going outside of the Dropship walls.

Mbege plays a prank (albeit a cruel one) on Jasper, pretending to kidnap O.

Could be a parallel to Jasper’s pranks this episode, in particular the prank where he pretends to die in black rain.

Jasper and Octavia discover Wells’ fingers and Murphy’s knife.

Monty and Jasper discover the “Survivor’s List”.

Kane is suspicious of Abby’s comings and goings. He’s tracking her movements.

A very thin possible parallel to Roan being suspicious of the Arkadians and might have Echo tracking their movements.

Jasper and Octavia bring the knife to Bellamy and Clarke.

Clarke deduces the knife is made of metal from the Dropship and so it couldn’t be a Grounder. Bellamy wants to keep the discovery quiet. Clarke and Bellamy are still antagonistic. Clarke wants to inform the people there’s a murderer amongst them. Bellamy thinks it’s a bad idea.

Exact convo:

Bellamy: “Clarke, be smart about this. Look at what we’ve achieved… the wall, the patrols. Like it or not, thinking the Grounders killed Wells is good for us.”

Clarke: “Oh, good for you, you mean. What… keep people afraid and they’ll work for you? Is that it?”

Bellamy: “Yeah. That’s it. But it’s good for all of us. Fear of the Grounders is building that wall. And besides, what are you gonna do… just walk out there and ask the killer to step forward? You don’t even know whose knife that is.”

Monty and Jasper confront Clarke with the Survivor’s List. Monty initially wants to keep the discovery quiet. Jasper and Clarke are still antagonistic. Jasper want to inform people that Clarke has made a list. Monty and Clarke think it’s a bad thing.

Exact convo:

Jasper: “You’re not God, Clarke. You don’t get to decide who lives or dies.”

Clarke: “The list is a backup. We have a…”

Jasper:  “Well, I guess you don’t mind if I tell everyone, then, right?”

Monty: “Jasper, no.”

Jasper: “People have a right to know that they’re working for nothing.”

(Additional note: In 204 Kane shocklashing Abby to keep order in Arkadia, Clarke does the same to Jasper here.)

Clarke confronts Murphy about his supposed murder in the middle of camp. She is very agitated; her voice is raised. People stop working on building the wall and begin to move closer to the confrontation.

Monty confronts Clarke about the list, then begins to read that list over the Rover’s radio. People stop working on repairing the Ark and begin to move closer to the confrontation.

A floating! In response to the charges levied against Murphy cries of “Float him” begin to sound.

Jaha is “floated” in the opening scene of this episode, although his floating is a joke.

Finn comes onto the scene, demanding that Murphy be cut down, but it is ultimately Charlotte’s confession that saves him.

Clarke pleads her case, explaining her reasons for picking the people she did, but it is ultimately Jaha arriving on the scene that disperses the crowd

The people on the Ark are suffering from oxygen deprivation. Abby tells Raven “It’s just the beginning.”

Here, a possible parallel to this Season’s big bad. In Season 1, the Ark (the people’s home) is killing them. Earth, the people’s home is already beginning to kill some of them (those who died of A.R.S).

Abby puts herself in danger for Raven, going to get the part from Nygel, trading her morphine.

Compare this to Abby putting herself in danger for Jackson, stepping out of the cover of the tree line to reach him.

Charlotte reaches for Clarke’s hand and is rebuffed.

Clarke says the following to Charlotte (who later jumps off a cliff):

“She’s a killer. You killed someone, Charlotte. Ended his life. Did you stop to think about that for even one second? Look at me! You can’t just kill someone to make yourself feel better.”

Kane says the following to Octavia (who later falls off a cliff):

“There’s a darkness in you, Octavia. I know you’re still mourning. Sit down. You didn’t have to kill that boy. You didn’t have to kill Ambassador Rafel. You didn’t have to kill Pike….A warrior knows when not to kill. Lincoln taught you that. You seem to have forgotten.”

Clarke chastises Finn for keeping the bunker a secret.

Then they have the following conversation:

Clarke: Well… Looks like they never made it here. No. I figure the bombs took them by surprise.

Finn: All this preparation. What a waste.

(Not an actual parallel, but perhaps a possible hint at how the season will go? Perhaps someone, or lots of someones, don’t make it into whatever will serve as a bunker this season.)

Finn and Clarke wake to discover Charlotte is gone.

Octavia leaves Polis.

Raven says: “Abby how about I pace in the operating room next time you’re working.”

(Again, not an actual parallel, but perhaps something that might happen next episode, while Abby works to test Luna’s blood, Raven gets a little….fidgety as she waits for her turn.)

Bellamy and Charlotte arrive at a cliff, Murphy and his rag tag group hot on their tail.

Octavia and Helios arrive at a cliff, Echo and her two pals hot on her tail.

Charlotte jumps off the cliff after telling the group “I can’t let any of you get hurt. Not for me. Not after what I did.”

Bellamy yells “No!”, Clarke shoves Murphy away and says, crying: “No, no, no!”

Murphy is shocked.

Octavia is stabbed by Echo and falls off the cliff, Echo is shocked. Bellamy, upon hearing the news, is devastated and yells “No!”

Bellamy attacks Murphy, tackling him to the ground and punching him repeatedly until Finn intervenes.

They have the following conversation:

Bellamy: “Get off me! Uhh! He deserves to die.”

Clarke: “No! We don’t decide who lives and dies. Not down here.”

Bellamy: “So help me God, if you say the people have a right to decide…”

Clarke: “No, I was wrong before, okay? You were right. Sometimes it’s dangerous to tell people the truth. But if we’re gonna survive down here, we can’t just live by whatever the hell we want. We need rules.”

Bellamy: “And who makes those rules, huh? You?”

Clarke: “For now, we make the rules. Okay?”

Bellamy: “So, what, then? We just take him back and pretend like it never happened?”

Clarke: “No! We banish him.”

Again, Jasper’s line about not being God, not getting to choose who lives or who dies is relevant here.

Abby marches to meet Kane. Kane confronts her with the truth. Let’s her know he knows about Raven and has Abby arrested.

Raven simultaneously launches the Dropship.

Could parallel this moment to Abby putting herself in harms way to save Jackson and Raven knocking out the drones.

Monty’s attempt to make the wristbands work as a communication device ultimately fails, knocking out every wristband left, something Jasper blames on himself.

(Again, not a confirmed parallel, but perhaps something that might happen later. Perhaps Abby and Raven ultimately fail in creating more Nightblood. Perhaps, this is what we see in the trailer? The man in the medical chamber, suffering from lesions? Was he a test subject? This would also be similar to Mt. Weather testing the effects of the Delinquents blood on the girl in the meadow.

Continuing down this train of thought: The failure of Abby’s nightblood serum could result in the mass death of large portions of Azgeda. I think, once Roan knows what the plan for survival is, he will insist on his people being administered the serum first, as a show of good faith. The serum won’t work though and the Azgeda members who were administered the serum will die. Roan (and likely Echo) will not be among their number as a King would never be allowed to be a test subject.

I’ve been thinking for a while that the mass death of this Season will be the Grounders. They have the largest numbers (according to Clarke’s list-over 5,000) and are therefore the easiest to whittle down. We’ve already seen the extermination of Floukru-all but Luna-and the massacre in the Trikru embassy. Getting rid of most of the Grounders helps alleviate the burden Clarke feels in having to save “everyone.”)

We move to Clarke and Finn in the bunker, Finn is angrily trashing the bunker.

They have the following convo:

“Finn! Finn, stop it! Calm down!”

Finn: We’re dead to them! Don’t you get that?

Clarke: No, there’s still hope.

Finn: Even you don’t believe that. It’s over, Clarke. They’re gonna die up there, and we’re alone.

Clarke: You’re not alone.

Finn and Clarke have sex, as Clarke makes an effort to convince Finn that he’s not alone.

The closing scene is Raven, still dropping to the Earth, looking at the necklace Finn made for her.

I think we might get a moment with Clarke and Bellamy (before he finds out Octavia is still alive) where she tries to convince him that he’s not alone.

Martyr (Paladin Archetype)

By their very nature, paladins are defined by self-sacrifice, putting themselves in harm’s way to protect others. Some, however, take this notion even more seriously. To them, no other mortal should suffer if they can do so in their stead.

These “martyrs” oftentimes literally embody their name, dying for a cause, but most also realize that while they are prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice, it is not to be made lightly or in vain. Better to suffer for others in the future than to die against a relatively minor threat early on.

As such, these paladins are rarely alone, finding communities or parties to join and protect them by suffering the worst that evil can throw at them so that others remain relatively unscathed.

With certain sacred hymns and conviction of faith, these holy warriors can open up bleeding wounds on their body which often have some symbolic significance to those knowledgeable of their faith. The combination of those chants and the uncanny wounds can serve as ample distraction from the visual or audible magical trickery of foes, or it can be used to galvanize allies to greater acts of courage to see such a clear sign of divine favor. The paladin must be wary though, for they can only manifest this power so often, and the blood they bleed is very real, potentially weakening them.

Furthermore, the conviction that these paladins hold projects an aura of protection, warding themselves and allies against the sights and sounds of wickedness, whether they be words with magical power to manipulate, the gaze of some fell beast, or other such effects.

Paladins have many auras that they use to protect themselves and their allies, and those of these warriors are especially potent, spreading over a wider area. However, in order to do this they lose the immunities to such effects that those auras grant.

Even disease has difficulty taking hold in the proximity of these holy warriors.

Finally, these paladins are more versatile in their laying on hands than most, and while they can heal certain conditions that they have learned to do so with relative ease, they can also heal any other condition they might have learned to heal properly, but only by taking on the burden of the illness themselves.

If you really want to support your allies to the point where your character is at risk because of that self-sacrifice, this flavorful archetype might be what you’re looking for. A support paladin build makes the most sense here, and while all the potential bonds they can take are good, consider looking into the alternate bonds from Healer’s Handbook for even more supporting abilities!

The biggest issue I can see with this archetype is that some die-hard Christians might get upset about the use of stigmata as flavor. On the other hand, it’s always commendable to see a company trying new things and pushing boundaries in where they draw inspiration from.

Normally sainthood is a post-mortem honor, but Nayda has died repeatedly for the cause across her lifetime, eager to return via resurrection magic to continue her work, though the nature of her pact puts her at risk. However, certain forces, including a marut inevitable, seek to send her to her final reward permanently.

Those that mock the tengu as a skulking, sneaky race are quick to be reminded of the story of Breppu the Molted, who strode calmly alongside the injured and sickly, tears of blood streaming down as he shed feather after feather, preventing any harm from coming to them as they evacuated during the siege of Arfaad.

Having lost an entire part of his jawbone during a nasty run-in with tooth fairies in his youth, Sir Ogin normally keeps his scars covered so as not to alarm others, but the old paladin is no stranger to pain, calmly standing in the path of blows to save another, and taking disease and harm into himself no matter how much it hurts.

Arrow 5x19 “Dangerous Liaisons” Review: Girls Rule The World

Oh my goodness. This was such a good episode.

The fandom touted this episode as SMOAK VS ARROW—but it was more like Team Smoak (Helix) vs. Lyla (ARGUS) with Team Arrow assisting. And really this episode was about the women. Felicity and Lyla. Meanwhile their rather befuddled hubbies watched on and wondered if this was going to ruin any future chance of dinner parties once Digg’s OTP gets its shit together. (Digg is still waiting to try Oliver’s cordon bleu.)

Felicity’s involvement with Helix came to a head in this episode. We all knew it was coming; even if her storyline with Helix was rather slow going at the start. I knew it was too good to last and too good to be true. Frankly, I’ve enjoyed watching Felicity take control over how she wants to be a vigilante if only because it’s the kind of experience that will reaffirm for her the kind she knows she should be. For me this experience is much more about Felicity exploring herself than just a means for Oliver and Felicity to mend fences.

I am absolutely not here for anyone bad mouthing Felicity Smoak for what she did with Helix. There isn’t a character on this show that hasn’t done things equally as bad or worse. I still find a way to love Oliver (when he’s really Oliver) and Diggle. I root for Thea. I don’t need Felicity to be perfect—though to me she’s perfect the way she is—to love her. So if you’re of the mind that Felicity was wrong or out of line then please do us both a favor and click the X on the tab.

I know that many of us are all eagerly anticipating the reunion of Olicity and we definitely are on that path and next week will be even more instrumental to that. But what this episode did, which we’ve sorely been lacking for over 19 episodes, is it had them communicating. Those trust issues were brought back to light in this episode.

Olicity and Dyla

Felicity is convinced that she needs to do whatever it takes to get the tech from Helix that will finally pinpoint Adrian Chase so that he can be thrown in jail. Alena tells her that the never heard of before now Cayden James has the capability of tracking someone’s heartbeat to their location. Cayden James was imprisoned by ARGUS eight months ago and has been held in a Black Site ever since. Alena wants to break the founder of Helix out of his prison.

Felicity attempts to convince Lyla to release Cayden in exchange for the tech. Lyla won’t budge because Alena killed an ARGUS agent (supposedly an accident) to get one of the necessary keys to free Cayden James. Not to mention another agent was nearly killed too. Also because she says this mysterious man is bad news—and even compares him to a loose nuke. I personally didn’t think it was a coincidence that a nuclear weapon was mentioned. There are a lot of implications with that for Felicity—Havenrock and something that she worked to stop with her estranged father. (Who I really think might be Cayden James.)

That showdown in the Bunker was a really strong scene and went a long way towards Felicity’s motivations. In many ways Diggle and Oliver both have held Felicity to a higher standard than themselves. They said from the beginning they were going to protect “this girl” and I think in part that meant shielding her from making questionable choices. They’d been through real ugliness in the world; they didn’t want to expose her to that.

Except that she was faced with it anyway—in fact she came already prepackaged with a history of pain. But since S1 she’s been through four terrorist attacks; she’s been shot twice; paralyzed; gassed twice; kidnapped multiple times and lost several people she cares for. Meanwhile she fell in love and then lost the love of her life. For the last four years, Felicity has mainly been trying to make the right choices—and trying to lead her guys to those choices too. But she also respected that she couldn’t (for the most part) make the choices for them.

Her goodness and faith in Oliver allowed him to believe there was still goodness in him. She helped him to harness his light. But there’s been little reciprocation here and that’s the journey in 5x19 and 5x20. Felicity was making all the right choices and the pain kept coming, for her and her loved ones. It’s easy to see why she’d start to think that the only way to get something done was by taking the moral shortcuts.

In the Bunker when Felicity proclaims that they have no right to not let her make dubious moral choices. They are a team—OTA. And she wants to be considered equal in all parts. They’ve left her out of some of the darker parts of vigilantism but it has done little to shield her from the overall consequence and suffering that comes with it. She’s tired of watching her friends take that burden alone. Especially when, as she sees it, if she makes those choices they lead to results.

Felicity tells Oliver (and Lyla) that they have absolutely zero ground to stand on for telling her she’s out of line. She’s not wrong. Frankly, Diggle doesn’t have much of a right either. It was only a handful of weeks ago that he was torturing a man in Russia. Not to mention he shot his brother. So for me, it was all rather hypocritical for anyone to judge Felicity for her association with Helix.

anonymous asked:

It's really frustrating seeing Kaneki refuse to fight the CCG in any effective way. Disarming investigators means nothing unless he's also crippling them. The CCG is out to add ghouls to the extinction list, they aren't interested in talking, why is he acting like if he plays a messiah the CCG will just decide "oh hey maybe we should listen to Mr Ghoul-Man"? This is beyond a stupid plan now, even Tsukiyama thinks so. I hope Ayato finds this One-eye, and he just takes over Goat and gets results.

Disarming investigators actually might increase the number of ghouls killed as they’ll need replacements for their quinques.

I think the people who are equating this to a stalemate are wrong though, really, really wrong. The worst the CCG can do right now is that they can’t pay much for the war efforts and treating their sick at the same time. Considering that Goat has been fighting passively with only striking at Quinques, then there logically probably aren’t that many new injured CCG members being created. It creates a vulnerability that can be exploited perhaps if Goat were to suddenly surge, but definitely not anything equal when ninety percent of ghouls in one ward have been exterminated and the small percent that remains are just starving underground.

There is of course the possibility that Ayato could find all the 24th ward ghouls that are apparently hidden in a secret city, and they could provide Kaneki with the resurgence he needs of men in order to finally lay a direct attack against the CCG. Doesn’t that seem too convenient too? For Kaneki to just simply stumble upon an old legend that contains the key he needs for victory, all the while never actually have confronted what are the flaws in his leadership that are causing the ghouls to lose. It might propel the story to a speedy conclusion but not a satisfying one.

The thing is if the 24th ward ghouls would be nice enough to help out with toher ghouls for that revolution, then why exactly did Eto regard her upbringing as such a hellzone?

While Nishiki is bringing them up as an idea to inspire children, he at the same time says this.

The terrifying foreshadowing of the 24th ward that’s been built up for the entire story is not gone, simply moved to the background, cast as a shadow perhaps so the 24th ward ghouls can be presented as a false hope to the protagonists.

This whole situation though, the still important foreshadowing that Tsukiyama might be questioning Kaneki’s methods, the mention of a dragon all seems biblical to me. After all it’s a dragon that comes to challenge heaven, and Jesus.

It’s a specific symbol of an event from revelations. Odd though, while Furuta says the dragon is under his control the actual pathway of the dragon likely resembles Kaneki’s right now, being cast out of heaven after a failed bout with it, and then falling into hell with his followers.

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.  But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Kaneki is of course, often cast as both a messianic and satanic figure perhaps another extension of his duality. Though the dragon reminds me of biblical revelations the situation itself reminds me of what we are presented as the time of Jesus in Rome.

The prophecy of the Messiah is one that Jesus and his followers would rise up against Rome and finally free them to a kingdom of their own. However, Jesus never fulfilled this prophecy and taught pacifism and faith under Roman rule instead promising his followers that someday in the future they would inherit a much greater kingdom than they could by seeking to conquer Rome.

Passivity was however the last thing his followers wanted to hear, and perhaps that is partially what led them to betraying him to the Roman Authority, hoping at least this sign of loyalty to Rome would guarantee them better treatment.

Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied. When he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he gave no answer. Then Pilate asked him, “Don’t you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?”  But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge—to the great amazement of the governor.

Matthew  27: 11-14

Rather than a tale of faith look at it as a story. The people desperately wanted a king but Jesus himself refused that name, and refused to take that role eventually causing the people to turn against him. Kaneki himself, continues to act as an improper king putting the name of ghouls first, and refuses even to take name as king being referred to as nameless king instead.

Now we have a betrayal set up, but perhaps no crowds to rally against him. That’s where the 24th ward lies. Perhaps the 24th ward has no interest in the surface ghouls, at least not until Kaneki deliberately brings the CCG knocking on their doors. Perhaps they’ve turned their back away from revolution, and much like V only care about their own sense of ‘balance’ and ‘peace’ even if it is a false and caged one.

Imagine if what Kaneki thought was his last hope turned out to be something damning him, the 24th ward overtaking Goat’s members and then selling out the leader of these insurgent surface ghouls to V as a token to pacify them. Surrendering once again to V’s will so they can continue hiding.

Then Kaneki will be given what he thinks he’s always wanted. A way to suffer at the sake of all ghouls without having to harm a single human, because it’ll be the humans who are harming him.

Male Mc Mystic Messenger: ZEN Route Day 5: {Hours 14:42 & 16: 56 +ZEN Call}

Previous Hour | List | Mobile List | Next Hour

Hour 14:42 Echo girl?? OMG

Zack was determined to get a job… but it seemed determination wasn’t enough to land a job. No. You’re not what we’re looking for. We need someone with more experience I’m sorry. It was just one thing after the other. He felt so… useless. Sure he was in school and just trying to get by but… this was ridiculous. He walked into his favorite coffee shop and noticed a sign on their counter. “Now Hiring” it read. Well, Zack hated customer service as he wasn’t too fond of strangers, but a job was a job. It wasn’t what he was picturing sure but he couldn’t be picky. Rika’s apartment may have been paid for but the groceries and his college necessities weren’t.

“Excuse me.” Zack looked up at the barista and pointed to the sign. “Are you still hiring?”

“Sure am!”

“G-great.” Was she the manager? Zack loved this place but he didn’t pay too much attention to the staff. “U-Um can I send in my application? Or what do I-”

“You want a job?” She leveled with him.

“Then you’re hired. I’ve seen you around so I know you’re no creep. You get discounts on the coffee and can take leftover pastries home with you. I had two other employees but one of them bounced so it’s just you and one other. He works nights so you’ll never meet.”

“A-alright. When do I start?”

She tossed her long hair to the side and ushered to the back of the counter. “Aprons in the back.”

A bit dumbfounded and startled Zack replayed the conversation in his head before nodding and heading to the back. He was overdressed for a coffee shop but… Well, he had a job and he wanted to tell ZEN!

Oh, and everyone else as well.

Apron over his body and hair pinned back, Zack walked out into the shop seeing a bustle of lunch goers walking in. “Ah.” Zack felt overwhelmed as a bustle of order came in. No orientation no nothing? He was just thrown in? He panicked a little inside and felt a cold sweat run down. his back. The manager was telling him orders in a kind and helpful and the customers as well. At least some of them were nice. Feeling exhausted after the first hour, Zack leaned his arms into the counter and stretched his back.

“Here.” The manager handed him a paper. “Sign this and I can start putting you on our paycheck system.”

“Yes. Er I mean, yes ma’am.” He read over it when the barrage of people slowed down to just a few customers here and there. Zack leaned on the counter and read over the papers. He logged into the RFA and saw that he had missed a chat with Yoosung. Well, oh well. He was busy. Zack pressed his lips to the palm of his hand as he translated the document and read over the information he needed to put down. He pulled out his phone and wallet and read over the chat as he put down the required information.

Your Greyling AU is such a awesome idea! I keep thinking of how long it may have taken for them to have gotten used to each other. How would Ladybug feel about civilians coming to her aid- especially after Adrien getting involved almost got him killed? How would Greyling feel about throwing champions in harms way/ controlling them? Or would it depend on who those first few champions were/ how willing they were to help? I imagine Alya would sign up for any chance to help Ladybug, but who knows?

Hhhh thank you thank you! Especially for resending this lol, I’m sorry my inbox shat the bed. You have some really excellent questions, and several of them I hadn’t even considered asking myself! Good stuff.

So Ladybug’s opinion on the “civilians” coming to her aid? Actually, she’s grateful. I think it’s really important to make the distinction between Civilian and Champion here, because in Ladybug’s world, the civilians aren’t helpful. They get in the way and they try to play hero and the get horribly injured. Ladybug wants civilians safe. But champions? Whole different story.

Ladybug isn’t completely comfortable with the idea of Champions helping her at first– having extra people fighting presents greater risk of having injured or killed people. But when they first start coming, she’s tired and stressed and needs someone else’s help. She’s in over her head. The champions are far more capable than any civilian could ever be, and she recognizes that divide and conquer is a completely valid strategy. After a few champions, she grows to trust Greyling’s choices and lets lie the backburner consideration about them possibly dying.

Greyling has a much harder time letting that go, by comparison, but Nooroo lets him know that he needs to have the utmost faith in whoever he gifts powers. So Greyling projects a confidence in his champions, and there is a small but nonzero amount of concern that he has for their lives. That’s something he vents to the butterflies about at some point.

As for the people he picks, they have to be absolutely willing to help. Almost always, they are. Nooroo teaches Adrien that to get someone’s help, you have to quickly be able to read where they’re coming from, why they feel the way they do, and how to best turn that into a positive energy. Adrien still seeks out those in a bad mood because human psychology makes negative emotions far easier to pick up, but instead of feeding their fury, he redirects it. For example, Greyling explains to an upset Mr. Pigeon that people don’t understand that pigeons aren’t so bad and can in fact be a force of Good, and suggests that helping Ladybug with them might be a good way to prove that to Paris. This puts us in a position such that the beginning circumstances are not unlike what HM faces, but Greyling completely turns the tides in a different direction.

And as for Alya? You’re absolutely right about her being gung-ho for helping, but she doesn’t actually get mitama’d until after Mari introduces Adrien to Nino and her. Mari is vehement about Alya staying out of danger, and Alya has at least half a mind to listen to her. There’s some sort of magical conduit that bypasses identities though once she gets ther, which allows Lady Wifi and Greyling to unlock (unfortunately) that possession ability Greyling has. Alya in particular is the strongest Champion to date.
