Steal my car, I'll wreck your life.

Back story, i am apart of a small family-owned type used car dealership (cue used car salesman joke here) we have maybe 50 cars on the lot at any time and our main business is sub-prime or people with less than perfect credit. We truly want to help the people that can’t afford/have the credit to buy from a new car dealership. We’re actually very liked in our small community.

So recently I had these customers, lets call her wife and him husband (They’re early 20’s). They come into my store and I like them, they seem like a nice young couple trying to start their lives out, they have two very sweet little girls, and could just use a break. They have made some mistakes in their early lives and have less than perfect credit. I coach them on how to improve their credit and they seem sincerely interested in fixing it so I bust my ass to get them a loan with the wifes mother cosigning on a nice third row SUV. Wife is literally crying hugging me because every other dealer turned them down. Now they are a little short on the down payment so i take a check for the balance and we agree i’ll cash it on his next payday (Mistake number one) but pretty common in this line of work.

I forget about them until the next week when I drop the check at the bank along with other deposits. The next thing i know i receive a notice that the check has bounced. Along with a couple NSF fees attached for me, and the check comes back. It’s a dollar amount that is considered a first degree misdemeanor in our state, just under a felony. I reach out to wife to see what happened and how we can make arrangements to get this taken care of. The last thing I want to do is go after a young couple with two small kids. At first wife is a little shocked and insists the funds were pulled from their account and I show them the picture of the NSF check. She understands and says they can pay half in 2 weeks when she’s paid again and in another 2 weeks pay the other half. I agree to this and just take them on their word (mistake 2).

A couple weeks rolls around and I don’t hear from wife or husband and am now thinking i’ve been taken for a ride Ignoring my calls/texts/etc you get the point. I get a call from the bank and come to find out they haven’t made their first payment either.

Now with this particular bank if the customer does not make their first payment we have to “Buy Back” the deal. Basically we have to give the bank the money they sent us for the loan. After blowing up their phones and facebook they finally call me back. I get the sob story he got let go from his job and he just started a new one and mom is going to help them get back on their feet. I go through hell and high water with the bank to make a deal that if they make their payment they’ll keep the loan but i’m still on the hook if they miss any of the next 3 payments. Wife also tells me they’ll make payments to me on the bounced check once he starts getting paychecks. So i agree, they make their payment to the bank and i go about my life….Until the next month comes around.

I get an email from the bank saying wife didn’t make the next months payment and won’t answer their calls. At this point i’m furious and ready to just go get their vehicle. They won’t answer any of my calls and call mom, mom scrounges everything in her social security paycheck to help try to make the payment for them and is short. Wife and husband tells her they’ll cover the balance and of course don’t pay. Bank says deal is a buyback we need our money back for the loan within 7 days. Now the only way I can payback their loan is if my floor plan (Basically giant credit card we buy cars on) gets pictures of the car in my possession.

I try to call/text/email/message on facebook to get ahold of both wife and husband and they block me on everything. They’re basically just stealing the vehicle without paying. They even blocked mom who has been trying to help them get this handled, yes they screwed over their own mother in this ordeal. I just want the vehicle back and move on with life. So this is where i go @prorevenge on them.

I begin by dropping the check off at the local prosecutor, and they’re delighted to file charges against them. I do some skip tracing calling family members, all of which are more than happy to help because come to find out husband has had 7 jobs in 4 months and has burned every single family member with money they’ve borrowed. I find wifes Father on Facebook, Father has been trying to take custody of deadbeat wife and husbands 2 kids because of how they treat them. He informs me they are staying in sisters house right over the border (we are on the state line of 2 states remember this) I call up a repo company and even myself drive the hour to go get the vehicle. They’ve been hiding it in the garage (according to neighbors and repo company). I do some searching and find out they’re both on probation for stealing a bunch of stuff from multiple stores. So I of course find and call up Mrs. Probation officer to see if she has a last known address. I then mention to her they’re staying above the state line and bounced a very large check to me, and they’re facing fresh charges in my town, she appreciates the knowledge.

Now while I was up at their house one evening I talk to one of the neighbors (Who also hate them they’re always yelling at their kids and eachother) and convince neighbor to call me if they see the vehicle outside. It took one day, I get the call, I send a very large friend who lives nearby them to go get the vehicle. After many expletives, berating my friend, they hand over the vehicle. But not before finally calling me while he was there and tell me how they’re going to sue and blah blah.

I’m out quite a bit of money from the ordeal, but here’s the best part. I just found out by living out of state they violated probation and just got sentenced to 30 days in jail from that, and they also just had their “video court date”(because they’re currently in jail with the probation violation) with the local judge on the new charges of the bounced check. I got my vehicle back and guess what? Deadbeat wife’s Father got custody of the 2 kids.

  • you have the most handsome boss in all of creation, good luck.
  • first things first, kim seokjin is heir to one of the great business empires on his side of the planet.
  • for the moment though he’s just managing a few of the smaller branches as well as all the charities and his passion project, a moderately successful chain of restaurants.
  • you find work in one of these aforementioned branches, filling in as his secretary when his PA needs time off to care for their sick mother.
  • and he’s so stressed and busy he doesn’t even notice until around lunchtime when he bursts out of his office in a frenzy.
  • “assistant choi! you’re not assistant choi. where’s assistant choi?”
  • you remind him and he’s like “oops, i thought that was next week.”
  • because he can manage twelve charities and two businesses at once, he can clothe and feed himself because he’s a big boy, but he can’t organise anything. that’s what he needs you for.
  • also he can’t tie a tie properly.
  • he probably went to harvard business school, but he can’t tie a tie for shit. it’s always askew or crumpled or something, so you look knots up online because you’re just itching to fix it for him.
  • but you don’t actually approach him with the offer for a while, that would be inappropriate. instead you wait for him to tie it himself and ultimately fail, before you offer your help.
  • he accepts gratefully, and watches you concentrate in the agitating piece of cloth as if an angel just descended to save him from drowning.
  • later he admits that was when he knew he would fall in love with you.
  • and after that, whenever he has an important meeting to attend, you gotta fix his tie for him. it’s like ur lil ritual, and it helps him calm down and prepare.
  • sometimes he neglects to eat though.
  • like when he’s trying to stay on top of events and important paperwork and running back and forth between meetings and you start to wonder if you should be organising meals for him as well.
  • he works so hard you end up feeling like you can’t just leave him alone in his office even if the work day is technically over, so you sit around answering emails as you wait for him to dismiss you.
  • eventually you just Go For It and order a bunch of food in, not knowing what he likes, because you’re hungry too dangit.
  • so at like 7pm you knock softly and ask him is it okay if you bring him something to eat.
  • kim seokjin could cry at that moment, but also he’s like “wait, you’re still here? why are you still here?”
  • you recite him his dinner options and by the end he’s almost visibly drooling.
  • “that sound amazing, do i have to choose?”
  • “well, one of them was for me.”
  • “which one?”
  • “whichever you didn’t want.”
  • “can’t we just share all of it?”
  • and so you and your new boss end up sitting across from one another on his plush expensive carpet, and have a virtual take-out feast.
  • and you’re both exhausted so you know he’s killing it with the dad jokes and his windshield wiping laughter just makes everything ten times funnier. lbr you probably peed yourself a little.
  • it’s late when you finally leave, so he drives you home.
  • the drive is nice and quiet and before you know it you’ve fallen asleep.
  • also you don’t know this but he was parked outside your house for like ten minutes before he mustered up the courage to wake you, like “ok we’re here!!!! hahahaha,,ha,,,ha,,,,, ah”
  • weeks pass, and jin’s dad is constantly piling more responsibility on him, which means more branches, which means jin has to travel more, and he takes you with him because he’s useless without you.
  • and you two are just so comfortable around each other from the start ??
  • but more importantly you really enjoy one another’s company and are constantly drawn together.
  • so eventually, always eating room service together turns into always spending time in the same room, which turns into eventually only booking one room with separate beds.
  • because more money saved is more money to charity.
  • right?
  • right ????
  • and guess what.
  • eventually the hotel fucks up, but everything is so hectic you don’t even notice until it’s too late and you come back from a conference at night to find you only have one bed.
  • whoopsie daisy~
  • honestly though you’re both so exhausted because you flew in early that morning, jin falls asleep with all his clothes on and you don’t even care and pass out beside him like two minutes later.
  • when you wake however, he has shrugged out of his blazer and you’re snuggled up to him, head tucked beneath his chin, cheek pressed against his chest.
  • to save you the embarrassment he pretends he’s still asleep while you untangle yourself. but breakfast is still awkward as heck to say the least, and he lowkey won’t stop smiling to himself the entire time.
  • and every time you attend a charity event with him everyone assumes you’re dating because you’re always laughing together and they’re used to seeing him with assistant choi.
  • and one time he mishears someone asking if you’re his date and he says yes so you run with it and link your arm through his and call him pet names and he goes sO red and stutters and it’s worth all the death glares he sends you the rest of the night.
  • after that he’s kinda tense and weird and you end up apologising for your behaviour because that was very unprofessional of you and you crossed a line and you really need this job please don’t fire me.
  • and as you arrive back at the hotel he’s like “yeah, it’s cool, whatever, i need a drink.”
  • and you’re like “idk about you but there’s a minibar in my room.”
  • and he just stares at you until you realise what you’ve said and when you die of embarrassment he’s like “now we’re even. goodnight.”
  • eventually, one fateful evening back at the office, jin completely buckles under the weight of it all and you find him with his head in his hands, papers all over the floor.
  • he confesses to you how it’s all too much and he doesn’t know how he’s supposed to keep everything together, especially as his responsibilities keep growing and without assistant choi around to help him out.
  • you spin his chair around to face you and sink down to his level, take his face in your hands and tell him firmly that he’s got this. it’s okay to doubt yourself and to crack under the pressure, but he’s got you and he’s got this and together you’re gonna kick this thing in the ass.
  • and he laughs and hold your hand, leans in a fraction but hesitates until you tell him he can also kiss you if he wants.
  • and he does.
  • he kisses you over and over and over until you have expensive carpet burns, wink wonk if you know what i mean.
  • anyway, nsfw under the cut.

Holy shit! You were looking at dinosaurs- actual living dinosaurs.

You could barely believe your eyes as you looked at the petting zoo enclosure where you were to begin your first day as a carer for the Stegosaurus.

“So you need to keep an eye on the kids as they tend to prod too much and we don’t want Steggy to bite their hand off” your new boss, Josh, joked.

“Has that happened?” you gaped at him.

He laughed, shook his head, and walked off while you stared after him.

“Well I guess I will never know” you sighed and walked into the office you have been assigned.

“Hey Y/N, did Josh give you his scare tactics?” your new co-worker, Jade, laughed as she filed the parent consent forms for the kids playing in the pen.

“He was messing with me? Of course” you shook your head.

You spent an hour setting up your desk and filling out the needed paperwork to work at Jurassic World.

“Come on guys, we have a park meeting to attend” Josh walked in and waved for you and Jade to follow him.

The training center wasn’t too far away and when you got there, the room was buzzing with noise among the 30 or so trainers.

“Oh there`s the T-Rex trainer, Steve. Awesome guy but terrible kisser” Jade pointed to a blonde haired man wearing a cork hat who waved a little too enthusiastically at her.

“Ugh there`s the raptor trainer, Owen” she swooned, “he`s so…hot” her hands waved at the man in question.

Looking over, you freeze. Owen, the one from your senior year of college.

Muscle Memory - JokerxReader Imagine.

AUTHOR’S NOTE; Thank you for the request lovely! I don’t feel like i’ve done enough Joker lately and for good reason, because I suck haha. I didn’t really know where to go with this and I really hope it doesn’t suck too bad. Hope it was what you were kind of looking for, so let’s see how this goes!

WARNING: Smut and mature language ahead.

It had been 4 months since you lost your virginity to Mr. J and day by day you found yourself trying to forget it had ever happened in the first place. The Joker was not only your boss, but he was also one of the most infamous criminals in Gotham city, losing your virginity to him was not a bold move, it was just plain stupid

How long had you even known him, a year maybe? The only forms of interaction you guys ever had usually involved him requesting you for some form of a delivery that included merchandise, guns, drugs, etc because that’s what your job was. Pretty faces were always recruited for one of 3 things; to waitress, to strip or to deliver depending on their skill set. Considering you didn’t give a damn about customer service; you simply knew waiting tables wasn’t going to work. On top of that, you couldn’t dance to save your life so delivering was your only option at the time.

Over the course of these past few months you’ve found yourself literally doing everything in your power to avoid Mr. J. This meant stirring clear of every place you knew he’d be, delivering all your drop off reports, files and cash to his right hand man Frost and ultimately working through a middle man to handle any business you had between the two of you. Everything seemed to run smoothly until your phone nearly fell off the night stand from its constant ringing. Without much thought, you reached over and answered.

“Yeah.” you spoke sternly, obviously annoyed from being woken up.

“2:45. Be here. I got somethin’ I need ya t’take care of.” He reported not leaving much room for you to argue. You instantly recognized it as the voice of Mr. J, but before you could so much as sigh in response, he hung up. You couldn’t disobey him because that could just as easily get you killed or punished; which with Mr. J, one would argue that they meant the same thing. However, you had been on the other end of his torturous punishments before on account of your uncontrollable eye rolls and slight mumbling whenever he said something out of line. The last thing you wanted was to experience that pain again.

The current time was 2:30AM. It would take you a few moments, but you were quite certain that you could get there in no time considering the roads would be nearly deserted at this time of night. As you drove, you couldn’t figure out what irritated you more; the fact that you’d been bothered at 2AM or that he’d called you personally for a job without actually telling you what it was.

Deep scrapes of unease slid through your abdomen as you made your way up the stairs to his penthouse. A sigh erupted from your lips as you peered around the halls hoping to see Frost, but when you came up empty handed you frowned. That was disappointing. Your hand rested on the door knob for a few moments as you attempted to gather yourself while the silence on the other side set you on edge.

Drawing in a deep breath, you push the door openly slowly and began glancing around the dimly lit room only to find Mr. J sitting comfortably next to the large window that took up most of the wall of his penthouse. He gazed out of it as if seeing something that wasn’t there and you had half a mind to wonder what was going on in his mind. Such a dangerous place it was.

“Mr. J, Ya said ya needed me; ya got the package?” You questioned casually while standing impatiently in the doorway.

“Close the door.” He stated not even bothering to turn around and look at you. You were uncomfortable already, and you felt yourself hesitate in the door frame at his request. He finally turned to you this time.

“Close i-i-i-t.” He stated, lingering on the “i” as if he were cooing a child. You couldn’t stop yourself from obeying and the intimidating impulse behind his eyes forced you to look away as you closed the door behind you. You glanced into the distance on the other side of it, as if looking for an out, but you knew full well that there was none.

“So, where’s this one headed?” You questioned turning your body full circle to close the door behind you. It was hard to look him in the face, especially after having it so close to yours in the past. Why were you thinking about this? Tonight’s call was strictly business and should remain as such.

The sound of footsteps caught your attention and you turn around to find him standing closer to you now, but still a comfortably safe distance away. How was it that even though he was still on the opposite side of the room, you didn’t feel safe?

After a few moments of him staring at you, you shift your weight slightly and roll your eyes.

“There is no package, is there?” You assume.

“How long did ya think ya could keep it up huh?” His voice questioned, but it hit the atmosphere with a rhetorical undertone.

“I dunno what you’re talking about.” You try to rationalize, but you should’ve known that rational thinking and Mr. J never mixed. His facial features contorted into a look that resembled displeasure as he slipped his hands into his front pockets.

“You don’t mmmmm?” He questioned. You had done well to convince yourself that, that night never happened, not because you didn’t enjoy yourself, but because a part of you saw it as a heinous act. He was your boss and more than anything your virginity was the only precious thing about you. Now, it was gone and worse, you’d manage to give it to the last person you wanted to touch you; Mr. J. You couldn’t fully erase it; the way he touched you, the way he called you princess, the way he growled in your ear, the way he took his time, the way he kept his hands firmly on your skin; it was unforgettable, but you still tried.

“No, Mr. J. I don’t.” You nearly pleaded hoping he could see the hidden message behind your eyes. Let it go.

“So, it’s Mr. J, now?” He asked with a look that mocked confusion.

“I’ve always called you Mr J, Mr. J.” You furrowed your eye brows.

“That’s funny, it was please daddy the last time I saw ya.” He stated as his voice changed as a mockery of your own. You feel your eyebrow raise without warning and the heat from your cheeks was released in a sign. Perhaps you’d called him daddy once or twice during the entire ordeal, but it was what he’d apparently liked. To bring it up now as a joke to embarrass you was a low blow .

“You don’t remember?” he asked moving an inch closer. A hand absently finds its way to your hair, pushing a few strands behind your ear.

“Ya got something for me t’deliver Mr. J?” You question in an attempt to avoid him all together and the annoyance in your voice was evident. He growled. He didn’t speak this time. Instead, he continued to stare at you and the more uncomfortable you got the more intense the stares felt.

“Ya think ya can avoid me and I not notice?” He moves closer again.

“I told you, I’m not.” You lie. He tilts his head slightly and narrows his eyes. If there was one thing he didn’t tolerate, it was lying.

“Stupid, isn’t a good look on ya doll.” He antagonized. You narrowed your eyes at him.

“Don’t call me that.” You never liked that nickname and no one ever called you it. it implied beauty, frailty and innocence; three things that you were indefinitely not. You were a killer if need be, a hired gun if need be, a delivery girl if need be, a doll; not even in the slightest.

“Mmmm well which do you prefer? Sweetie, baby, pumpkin pie, princess?” He questioned and you couldn’t stop the slight glance to the side as your insides clenched at the idea of the last one. Muscle memory would never allow you to forget the way he made your body feel when he called you that the last time you two interacted. You eyes snapped back to his as you attempted that the current moment didn’t happen.

“Ohhhhh, I like the response to that one.” He cooed taking another step in your direction. You should have known you couldn’t do anything without him noticing it considering his eyes never left your skin, but what did he expect you to do?

“I can’t….do this.” You responded using your fore finger and your thumb to softly grip the bridge of your nose. There was no right answer or response; only a never ending taunt fueled by his vulgar nature.

“Ohhh, what have I taught cha’ about that word?” His voice was low this time as if to put forth an emphasis on his stature over you. His pause was agonizingly slow as he stared at you, waiting for a reply. Your eyebrows furrow in response to his question and you find yourself taking an instinctive step back wards towards the closed door. That word was always off limits and the mere memory of what he did to you the last time you used it was enough to make you recoil from him.

“Should I repeat the lesson?” He questioned and your instant rush of panic caused you to look away from him. Your eyes scanned the room for an emergency out just incase this got messy, but you knew currently there were only 2 ways out of this room with him. One was the closed door behind you and the other was the large window that acted as a wall for his penthouse’s living room. Considering he was the top floor, the window wasn’t an option.

“Please don’t.” You urged allowing your eyes to shut for a brief moment as if trying to destroy the images of his previous lesson from your mind. You still had the scars, the bruises, the scraps and now every time he reminded you of it; you still managed to feel the pain as well. Muscle memory.

“Don’t what?” He questioned placing his index finger behind his ear as if he didn’t hear your plea.

“Please don’t punish me.” You answered and his smile widened. Such a sadist.

“That’s a good girl.” his voice broke as he enthused and if you didn’t know him well you’d think he was overwhelmingly pleased. You rolled your eyes and he growled while taking another step toward you.

“Stop.” you demanded, but there was a slight waver in your voice and it hits the atmosphere like a plea. He smiles.

“I’m am not going to do anything.” he stated simply before pulling his arms up on either side of him as if to show he was harmless, but you knew better. If he wasn’t up to anything then why were you here, and why did you feel anything but safe? Your confusion must have been clear on your face because he finally spoke.

“I just need ya to do something for me….” he suggested, lingering on the last word and taking another step towards you. He was inches away from you now, and you some how felt relieved because perhaps this was a business thing. You felt yourself perk back to life believing the nonsense before was finally over until he spoke again.

“Cum for me.” He spoke in a low tone while focusing his eyes in on your lips.

Your eyebrows wrinkle before your facial features nearly crumble like pastries in front of him. His eyes didn’t meet yours, but they stayed intent on watching your lips as if there was something to be desired there.

“Cum for me, Princess.” He repeated, this time adding the nickname that was now etched into your mind. You could feel yourself beginning to fall apart at the seams, but you still attempted to keep your outer form composed. You refused to be affected by him or his taunts, but you couldn’t stop the feeling of your thighs tightening in response to the growing discomfort in your lower abdomen.

“That’s…..not gonna do anything.” You speak with uncertainty. He smiles again before closed up the rest of the space between the two of you. His left hand reached up slowly to rest firmly against the wall beside your face while his other lightly nipped at the front of your shirt. Your back against the door and his hands boxing you in made you uncomfortable, but you only shifted your weight and looked away from him. It was as if his eyes had fingers and they slowly slid from the base of your body back up to your eyes.

“Look at me.” He demanded shifting his leg slightly so that he was comfortable close to you now. His angle was strategic for he was close enough to keep you boxed in, but far enough to see your entire body in one glance. You wouldn’t indulge him, instead, you took an unsteady breath through your lips.

“Look at me.” he requested again except more stern this time. You couldn’t resist the involuntary movement of your eyes focusing in on his, and the intensity behind them made you feel as though you were a child under scrutiny. You could feel yourself losing this battle for you had a desire for him that you couldn’t control and this fact gave him power over you. The idea and thought of being under someone else’s control nearly made you ill, but you couldn’t stop the reaction you surrendered to him as he looked at you. It was as if there was a click in his head as his eyes dropped from yours and grazed over your frame once more. What was he seeing?

“How long had ya been keeping your little secret? All that killing, all that rage, but you’ve never been touched. What do they call that……irony?” He questioned glancing off to the side as if trying to think of the right word. You didn’t find his false sense of humor funny, and you attempted to push off the wall and move away from him only to have his hand push you back gently.

“Are you done? You think you know me because I make a few delivers for you? Because I answer your phone calls when you need business handled? You don’t know a thing….about me.” You could feel your rage bubbling over faster than you could catch it. You were a complicated person, this you could admit, but to have him stand before you as if you were an open book to him set your nerves on edge.

“Careful. - I fucked you.” He answered simply while allowing a noise from the based of his throat to slip through his lips before moving slightly closer to you. His face remained relatively straight as he spoke. “The way you hesitated when I touched you. Your little looks of confusion when I made you feel things you’ve never felt before. The fear on your face when I made you cum. Had you ever cum before?” His question was taunting but there was a hint of genuine curiosity behind it all. He legitimately wanted an answer.

“Please, stop.” You pleaded when you realized where this was going.

“No, no, no Princess, that’s not one of the answer choices. Yes…..no?”
He questioned lingering on the words as if attempting to answer for you. His fingers shook from left to right in front of your lips as if he didn’t want to hear anything else from you, but his eyes once again zeroed in there as if waiting expectantly for your answer.

“No.” You answered honestly feeling yourself giving up. He found solace in your surrender and the small smile on his face assured you of this.

“No….?” He questioned.

“No sir.” You corrected, and his smile widened as he nodded.

“Theeeeeere she is.” he mused before moving his upper half closer to yours before making small patterns into your shirt’s fabric with his free hand.

“Do you still wanna to leave?” He questioned poking out his bottom lip. You nodded only to have him nodded in return as if mirroring your action.

“Then do what I asked, and you can go.” He assured. You wrinkled your eyebrows as you looked at him. What did he want?

“Be a good girl. Cum for Daddy.” He requested slipping his free hand down the front of your pants and into the delicate confines of your underwear. You moved in protest only to have his fingers slide against the folds of your private area. You weren’t prepared for the sudden invasion or the distinct feeling of pleasure resonating at the base of your abdomen.

“Don’t you want my help? …..You want this?” He questioned pushing harder against your skin. You couldn’t answer, you could only think back to the previous time he had his fingers at the base of your sensitivity and you surrendered. He would have you again if you kept this up, but you couldn’t stop yourself. You weren’t his, but in this moment, you were.

Caffeine Challenge #12-- done!

You can read mine below or here (X)! This one is yet another WIP lol. Good job everyone who participated, I can’t wait to read yours!

I’m on a bus before I know it, my sister’s voice still ringing in my ears.

“Mom’s dead. They’re calling in a new Sheriff.”

It’s been years since I’ve been home, but I know what that means. There’ll be blood in our county before the month’s up and, with Sis pregnant with her second, that’s something Abbey’s can’t afford.

So I break the promise I made when I was sixteen and I come home. Mom’s not around to care though, so it’s hardly like there was much of a promise to break anyway.

Judging by Orisa’s face, she doesn’t agree.

“I told you not to come,” she says when I jump off the bus. She’s got a toddler by the hand and her belly is swollen with another child. For all that, she’s still got a whole belt of stakes slung over her shoulder.

“You’re expecting trouble,” I say, chin jerking to the wood. “I had to.” I drop my bag at my feet and squat down with a friendly smile. “Ara? Is that you? But, it can’t be, you’re so big!”

The little girl, hair the color of sunlight, ducks behind her mother’s legs, amber eyes distrustful.

“I saw you when you were a baby,” I say to the little girl. She’s got her mama’s freckles, only a shade darker than her brown skin. She’s beautiful. “I’m not surprised you don’t remember me.”

“The locals certainly remember you,” Orisa tells me. “What are you thinking, Mable, coming back now?”

I exhale through my nose and stand. “I’m thinking that we’re in Sheriff-less territory and you’re the late lady’s daughter, Orisa. That’s what I’m thinking.”

“They like me here,” Orisa says, white teeth flashing. “You coming back is only going to stoke the fires, Mable. You know that.”

I keep my smile pleasant, aware of Ara’s eyes on me. “The fires are already stoked, Orisa. You should know that.”

Good Luck Finding Cinderella Pt. 2

Part 1

“Honeybear, how fluent are you in the language of flowers?” Tony poked the large floral arrangement that consumed his desk with it’s excessive greenery with a ruler. He wrinkled his nose when the anther from one of the lilies dropped off the filament and onto one of the files he’d been going through for Stark Industries.

There was a long pause on the other end of Tony’s cell phone and Tony could sense that his best friend was judging him.

“It’s a perfectly innocent question!” Tony defended himself before Rhodey could accuse him of anything.

“It’s too innocent a question. What did you do?”

Tony huffed and dragged his roller chair out from under his desk and flopped into it. He glanced around and noticed that half of his coworkers were either watching him or listening in to his conversation, while the other half continued to work. Tony pinched the bridge of his nose and internally sighed. He wish he was high enough in the company that he had a private office. Unfortunately for him, Howard had a twelve step plan when it came to Tony’s advancement in Stark Industries, and Tony wasn’t allowed even a chance at a position with a private office for another six months.

It wouldn’t have been so bad if he was working in the labs. Lab time was three months ago though. Now he was stuck in accounting where his life and soul were being sucked out of into the abyss of misery and despair.

“I’d say that I gave someone the best night of their life, but unfortunately I’ve been having a dry spell recently. I think being an accountant has killed my sex drive.” Tony gripped the vase and spun the flowers around just to see if he’d missed anything. The only evidence that the flowers were for him was his name on the card.

Whoever sent the flowers had good taste. The arrangement was colorful and gave life to Tony’s desk (and truthfully, to the entire room). Gerberas, lilies, sunflowers, orange and yellow roses and many more flowers brightened the space.

“A secret admirer then? Did they leave any clues?”

“None that I can see.”

“Weird. Nothing?”

“Yes, nothing.”

Rhodey mulled over the information. “I bet you’ll get another gift later.”

“Maybe it’s just a thank you gift or something.” Tony shrugged. He couldn’t think of any reason why someone would send him flowers as a thank you, but he found it more plausible than a secret admirer. Tony didn’t have those, and if he did, they wouldn’t gift him things.

“Winner buys the next meal?”

Tony grinned into the receiver. “Deal.”

Tony shortly after that hung up with Rhodey and went to work. He crunched numbers and tried to ignore the mental clock in his head that was counting down the seconds until he could take a break from his tedious task. The moment his internally alarm went off though, Tony scrambled out of his cubicle and headed for the break room for a cup of coffee.

Tony froze in doorway of the break room.

One of the tables was covered in a fine tablecloth with lit candles and a carry out box from his favorite burger joint. Tony cautiously trudged to the table. His name was written in cursive on a folded card that sat in front of the food. Tony picked up the card and opened it.

Please enjoy.

Tony frowned at the simple and innocuous message. “Stalker,” Tony sang the word. He went over to the drawer of utensils kept in the room and picked out a fork. He prodded and dissected his burger until he was certain that his stalker hadn’t added any razor blades or other harmful items. He sniffed the burger, but couldn’t detect any scents that would suggest poison.

Nonetheless there were many poisons that didn’t have a scent.

With a broken hearted sigh, Tony tossed the burger in the garbage. He’d really wanted that burger, but contrary to the belief of many, he wasn’t foolish enough to accept food from an unknown source. Especially a source that had studied his habits enough to know when he took his break.

Probably the only people he’d be comfortable knowing his habits would be the security team, and even then there were some members he hoped didn’t pay enough attention to him to pick up a pattern.

His break thoroughly wasted, Tony went back to his cubicle with just a cup of coffee and a bag of blueberries he’d brought to work.

In between files, Tony called Rhodey.

“So you’re buying our next meal.”

Rhodey was no help at all. Tony sighed. “I have a stalker,” Tony repeated.

“Your admirer could be a coworker.” Rhodey huffed. “But if the gifts keep coming and get more creepy, call me. I’ll be right over there. No one is allowed to mess with you when I’m around.”

“Aw, honeybear.” Tony wiped away an invisible tear. “I love you too.”

The rest of Tony’s work day was peaceful, albeit boring to tears. He got through it by reminding himself that eventually he’d be back to designing products for the company; he just had to endure for now. When his shift ended he fought his way through rush hour traffic until he finally made it home.

Tony only got a few steps into the house when he was met with a tower of shoe boxes. Tony craned his back as he took in the sight. Expensive brands jumped out at Tony, and he knew immediately that whoever had sent him these shoes not only had expensive tastes, but also had deep pockets.

Tony approached the boxes and took one from the top of the stack. Tony tossed the lid aside.

Red heels rested in the white tissue paper inside the box.

Tony inhaled sharply.

There was a knock and then someone cleared their throat.

Tony whirled just as he realized he’d left the front door open behind him.

Prince T’Challa stood at Tony’s doorstep, holding a red, strappy heel that was quite familiar to Tony.

T’Challa’s eye twinkled as he turned the shoe over to reveal the message Tony had scrawled on the bottom of it:

Good Luck finding Cinderella!

“Do you prefer to go by Tony or is Cinderella your preference?” T’Challa asked.

Tony shook his head in disbelief even as a grin split across his face. “I have so many questions and I’m a little weirded out, but I have to say, you have me impressed.”

Burned my ex a big one.

“This may seem shady, but all is fair in love and divorce” - my lawyer.

My ex cheated on me numerous times, kept saying he was divorcing me (he was in europe with the military and deployed from there to Afghanistan) and accused me of cheating all the time because I stayed in the US. I stayed because they were going to extend his tour in europe if I joined him and he b*tched that he didn’t want to stay there. He came back from his deployment and back to the US. We hadn’t talked in about 6 months at this time. So he shows up and wants to work things out. Ok….I didn’t know about the cheating yet.

A month later, I got to a routine OB appt (post natal) and find out that I have chlamydia. Knowing I hadn’t slept with anyone but him, I knew exactly where I got it. He, of course, denies it and says I cheated. Whatever, he has it too and suddenly he’s messaging all these girls on facebook to “go get checked”. So I’m 2000 miles from my family at this point and am considering how to get the hell out of this mess. My ex becomes an alcoholic and starts being abusive. The military did nothing about it, even after the MP’s arrested him 3 separate times for domestic issues - they put me in the position to have him come back home because they wouldn’t keep him in the barracks and made him pay to stay somewhere else. Unfortunately, that meant he took all the money out of the account to pay for his housing and didn’t care if the baby ate or had diapers.

I’m stuck in this shit situation, I don’t have the money to go home and start over. So I start planning on how to escape it the easiest way possible. He looks at re-enlisting - so I suggest the military base that is closest to my family. He goes for it and within a short period of time, we’re packed up and moving. I let my parents know what’s going on so they’re in the loop if I struggle and need to come home.

We no sooner get moved and he has this massive episode with the drinking, this is my opportunity that I was waiting for. He threatens to kill himself, I call the suicide hotline and they send the MP’s over - they collect him up and take him to the psych ward.

He says he’s changed and all of this and wants to come home. I keep pushing it off, and the military sends him to a rehab facility (at this point he’s a 2x loser with the substance abuse program). I packed up while he was gone. At some point while he’s gone, it dawns on him that I pushed for him to go to that particular base because it was close to home and it was an escape plan - DING DING DING, we have a winner!

So, duped him on that one. At this point, he should have learned that I’m in the planning phase of leaving him permanently and should have been a bit on guard.

I hire a lawyer to draft my divorce paperwork - I filed it myself but learned quickly that if you plan on being shady, professional help makes it easier. In the state I live in (TX) you can waiver your rights to a divorce and let the other party go uncontested - the waiver pretty much waives your rights to anything to do with the divorce and to any notice from the court about proceedings. I get the lawyer to draft up a waiver, took basically what I wanted and gave it to my ex to read. He signs the waiver without reading it, or any of the divorce paperwork after he held onto it for a week “so he could have his lawyer look over it”. I knew when he gave it back to me signed, there was no way in hell he read it or had any lawyer or paralegal read it, as nobody would be stupid enough to sign it if they had actually read and understood it. It was pretty straight forward.

I don’t say a word about it, play it off like it’s just part of the process, and immediately cautiously drove down hauled ass to the clerk to file it.

Final date comes up, of course my ex has no idea it’s even happening because the schmuck signed off his rights. I appear for court, talk to the judge for about 5 minutes, he signs it off and I go down to file it.

I drop off a copy at my ex’s work as a courtesy (his choice, I called and told him I had some paperwork for him). He completely flips his shit at work because he can’t believe that it’s finalized without him getting any say in it. Just last week he was talking about working it out and I hadn’t argued about it, yeah because I knew the final court date already, why argue?

Basically the last thing he ever said pertaining to the divorce was that he couldn’t believe what a sneaky b*tch I am.

// I can’t believe i’ve just gotten to this but yes, i’m fine now! thank you for the kind words!
this was so fun to write, Saeran is my favorite because hes just so cute.

Zen:

- The first time you nearly fall down a flight of stairs he almost screams because that was so terrifying. He thought you were going to get hurt, he’s glad he was there to catch you before anything bad could have happened.

- He fusses over you as you explain how you’re just.. naturally clumsy. But still, He’s worried. You need to be careful, he would hate for you to get hurt over something so silly.

- Holds your hand a lot more often while out and about, whenever you start to sway or trip over your own feet he grabs on tight and spins you around really fast to his chest so he catches you– Like a dance! Lots of people have commented on how romantic Zen is, But he’s really just trying to stop you from dying. MC. watch where you step.

Jumin:

- When he invites you over to his home, he notices you drop a lot of things. Your phone, the television remote, even almost dropping Elizabeth the 3rd. He swore he almost had a heart attack right then and there.

- Since he wants to know all there is to know about you, he’s curious if it’s a habit or not. Do you not have good grip? Is everything okay? He’s so genuine and concerned too, you can’t help but giggle before explaining you’re just.. very clumsy! You trip quite a lot, drop things. It’s just you.

- That makes him nervous. What if you tripped and hurt yourself? What if you dropped glass? He’d have to ask Assistant Kang about methods to dealing with ’ clumsiness. ’

- The only place you’re not allowed in his home is the balcony. He cant risk you falling off there. It makes him scared to even think about that.

- ”It’s for your own good, MC. ”

Yoosung:

- He does pick up on it, I mean– When you two go for walks you’re always seeming to trip over rocks or even your own shoes..

- The first time you fell he sobbed through so many apologizes, he was so scared that you hurt yourself. You did a bit, just a scrape on your chin from the sidewalk; but he blamed himself for not being able to catch you in time. You just excuse the incident on your clumsiness, but he still feels guilty.

- From then on he likes to put his shoulder over yours or his arm around your waist, just to help your balance. And he loves some cuddles too, who doesn’t?

Jaehee:

- The first time you nearly fall is when you and her are getting out of an elevator, visiting Yoosung at the office to drop off some files. You and her chat back and forth inside, but then you trip over the frame as soon as it opens. You would have fallen if she didn’t grab your arm too!

- Sadly.. she dropped the files. Everywhere. You apologize while helping her clean up, explaining that you’re always like this. She says it’s fine, really. Just a mistake!

- After that she always holds on tight to your arm, in an elevator especially. She has no idea how you’ve lasted this long without any serious injuries, Not believing how many times she’s had to save you from falling over.. Still, it makes her feel strong– like she’s protecting you.

Seven:

- When you nearly fell down the stairs leading up to his office his agent reflexes kicked in, grabbing you quickly and pulling your body back before anything bad could happen. It scared him for a moment, obviously the stairs weren’t very steep but still! He’s glad you’re fine.

- He jokes about how God Seven-Zero-Seven advises you to learn common stair safety, mortal. Claiming he has a CD on the topic and all, 6 hours of a Stairs PSA. How lovely.

- He notices you do this a lot–Tripping over yourself. He doesn’t bring it up too often, but he does always hold your hand while going down stairs after that incident. He doesn’t want to take any chances!

V:

- He’s blind, so he hangs onto you a lot. As long as you’re fine with it.. He likes to hold your hand while walking, so basically if you trip so will he. Ride or die to the max.

- It’s a bit shocking when you both hit the ground, but he’s good at laughing things like that off right away; as long as everyone’s okay. Plus after he lost most of his eyesight, he became rather clumsy too. Knocking over items, tripping on his own two feet. that’s kind of sad now that i think about it what the hell

- He’d just remind you to be more careful, he doesn’t want you to get hurt. Also prefers to walk a lot slower with you, it reduces the risk of tripping! He loves your clumsy little self, but doesn’t like the idea of you maybe hurting yourself because of it. Always reminds you to tie your shoe laces. Never leaves the house without saying so.

Saeran:

- Cat like reflexes. As soon as something falls out of your hand, bam. He’s there to catch it. You’re falling? He has your back don’t worry. He always has his hand wrapped around your waist anyways, so as soon as you start to fall he knows; Catching you before anything happens.

- He complains about how he’ll have to get you a suit made of bubble-wrap to keep you safe and sound, but he secretly loves it. Watching out for you, catching you before you fall.. It makes him feel– Important. And that’s a good feeling.

- Doctor Mode ™ comes out when he’s not there to catch you or you scrape something on your own. Bandages up your scrapes and bruises with little pink kitten bandaids. If you ask nicely, you might get a get well kiss on them too; But he always gets flustered after that happens. He’ll still do it though, even though he thinks it won’t make it feel better at all.. But you insist that it does– It helps a lot, and it always makes him smile.

Kara needs to be comforted by Alex but she's busy or something so Maggie helps and Alex is all happy because Maggie understands just how much Kara means to her and isn't annoyed by it, which other ex's may have been.

Maggie walked through the main corridor of the DEO. She sort of enjoyed having free reign over the place. She could come and go as she pleased, looking at pretty much whatever she wanted to.

Unfortunately, it also meant that she was the go-between for the NCPD and the DEO, making her the de facto courier as well. She had just finished dropping off some files and was about to head home when she detoured to make a pass by Alex’s lab. She was pretty sure that Alex was still out on a crime scene, but it never hurt to check.

She turned the corner and found that there was no Alex in the lab, but there was a Danvers. She walked to the door with a smile on her face to say hi when she saw the look of confusion and disappointment on Kara’s face. She stepped into the doorway and put her hands on the frame. “Hey Kara. You okay?”

Kara looked up from the lab manual she had been looking at, but not reading. She pushed her glasses up and nodded. “Yeah. I’m fine.”

It was evident that she was definitely not fine. Maggie knew that Kara was waiting for Alex, but from what Alex said over the phone she may be gone for a few more hours.

“Do you…” Maggie trailed off. She internally debated between offering a drink or ice cream. Eventually, she ended up asking, “Want to go get a drink?”

The offer made Kara smile. “Yes,  please.”

They ended up at the alien bar because as Maggie said, ‘what’s the point in drinking if it doesn’t do anything?’. She ordered a beer and handed Kara a glass of something that would kill lesser aliens. Kara was already sitting at a booth and smiled at Maggie when she set the drink down. “Thank you.”

“No problem,” Maggie slid across from Kara. “So, what’s up?”

“Nothing really,” Kara looked at the drink in the glass, a golden shimmering liquid. She sniffed it and instantly felt a bit looser. “I mean, there’s this guy…”

Jimin’s POV

“Good morning Mr. Park” My secretary greeted as I walked inside the 20 story building.

“Good morning Seulgi” I greeted back, giving her a small bow in return.

We started walking towards the elevator that led straight to my office. People were giving me paperwork on the way, explaining what it was for, while my secretary held my coffee for me.

“Mrs. Seohyun is in your office right now sir. She asked to see you immediately and there was nothing I could do to stop her. I’m sorry” Seulgi explain.

“It’s alright. I know how stubborn Seohyun can be” I chuckled and Seulgi echoed me. It took a while for her to finally ask the question she wanted.

“W-Why would she be here sir?” She asked, and I sighed. I turned the corner to the elevator. I pressed the up button and answered.

“Do you know what Seohyun does?” I ask, giving Seulgi time to think.

“She is a famous journalist. Known for twisting around the words of her clients” Seulgi suddenly gasped “Is she trying to find dirt on you and then make you look bad?”

I laughed. The elevator opened and we both walked inside. Once inside, Seulgi was sure to press the 19th floor for me.

“The key word here is "Try” Seulgi. She has tried many times to take me down, but each time she has miserably failed. Just like all the other times, she WILL fail" I answered, giving Seulgi a hard stare that made her blush and look down at her feet.

“I’m not sure I would be as confident as you sir. Seohyun has done many bad things to others” I turned to look at Seulgi, who was still looking at the ground.

I let out an exasperated sigh, shaking my head in disappointment. Seulgi was right in a way. Seohyun had a knack for flirting. Word is she sleeps with her clients in order to keep quiet about their personal life. I happened to be the only one who wont sleep with her. Since I’m happily married for three years.

That frustrates her. She wants everything and she gets everything. But not with me. And what happens to a child when they don’t get what they want? They throw a temper tantrum. That’s exactly what she is doing right now.

She has come to my office three times a week, and it’s starting to get on my nerves. She will ask me many questions about my personal life or my work life, and I will answer honestly and specifically so there is no misunderstanding. And she is not having it.

I have to admit though, some of her questions are a bit hard. They were getting better and better with each visit. She watches you. Learning everything about you. How you react to certain questions. How your posture is. She analyzes you.

I was noticing that she is understanding that I don’t like it when she asks me about my personal life. My personal life is my business and I want no one else to be digging into it.

The ding at the elevator that told me that I was on the 19th floor; My office floor. I gave another heave before exiting the elevator with Seulgi.

When I walked into my office I could see the back of a young lady sitting in front of my desk. An all too eerie familiar back I knew too well.

As soon as my footsteps could be heard throughout the office, the chair spun around, revealing a menacing smile coming from the woman in a red flour dress and tan pointed toe heels. Her fashion sense wasn’t the best but I wasn’t going to say anything.

“Well hello there Mr. Park” Her malicious voice spoke sending shivers down my spine. She shouldn’t scare me this much.

“Hello Miss Seohyun. What brings you here today?” I ask while taking my seat behind my desk, although we both knew why she was here.

She turned her chair around as I sat down. She brought her hands up to her face, intertwining them and resting her chin on them, as if she was an evil villain. Not that she wasn’t.

“You know why I’m here” She spoke both our minds.

I hummed in response, waving my hand at her to continue as I sat back into my chair.

She reached down for her purse below the chair, grabbing a small notebook and pen. She wrote a couple things down before looking back up at me. A menacing smile on her face.

“Now. Jimin-Is it okay for me to call you that?” I honestly shook my head at her.

“Mr. Park is fine” I answered and she awkwardly chuckled.

“Alright.. Mr. Park. First things first. Are you married?” She asked and I scowled at her.

“You know I am” She nodded.

“Are you happily married?”

“Of course”

“How would you describe your relationship with you wife?”

“In what sense?” I leaned forward onto my desk, folding my hands together.

“Like is it honest? Would you ever cheat-?”

“Why in the hell would I ever cheat?” I answered making sure to keep a calm voice.

“Just a question” She continued “So if an attractive lady came along, for instants Miss Seulgi here” My whole body stiffened. I knew exactly what Seohyun was doing, and I was not liking it.

“Would you tell her she was attractive in front of your wife?” She tilted her head at me and I kept my mouth shut.

I glanced up at Seulgi and she was looking at her feet, a visible blush on her cheeks. I would lie if I said I hadn’t noticed the small crush Seulgi had developed for me. Of course nothing could happen since I was happily married, but she was sensitive, and if I said the wrong thing I knew I would end up hurting her. And I didn’t want that to happen.

“Do you even find Miss Seulgi attractive at all?” Seohyun suddenly asked, a fake gasp leaving her lips and anger boiled in my stomach.

“Of course she’s attractive!” I snapped before I could think.

“Oh.. Okay.. So.. Would you tell your wife that you are cheating on her with Miss Seulgi?” I stood up abruptly, slamming my fists on my desk in the process. I couldn’t believe my ears. She did it. After all these years, she had me in her trap.

“Why would I tell my wife I’m cheating on her when I am clearly NOT!” I let out another exasperated sigh. I closed my eyes shut as I waited for Seohyun to answer.

“So then why did you call Miss Seulgi attractive if you do not have sexual feelings for her?”

“Can’t someone call someone attractive without being "sexually attracted” to them?“

"Well last I head, telling someone they are attractive can lead to something very intimate-” I let out a deep groan.

“Please leave” I bluntly put.

I watch as Seohyun stands up, gathering her notebook and pen into her bag. She looks back up to me when she is finished and gave me a fake smile while holding out her hand for me.

I looked at her hand for a minute, her getting the idea and let it fall down to her side again. She bowed at me and I nodded my head in response, not wanting to be completely rude.

“It was nice doing business with you” She stated before turning around before I could answer, heading for the door. Normally Seulgi would open the door for the guest, but this time she stayed in her spot near my desk looking down at her feet. I don’t blame her, she must be completely embarrassed.

I waited until I could hear the elevator doors shut from just outside my office before I slumped down into my chair with an “Oomph”. I ran a hand down my face. I peaked my eye open to see Seulgi still standing there very awkward-like.

“Hey..” I call out, hoping she would look up, but unfortunately didn’t “I-I’m sorry you had to go through that Seulgi” I quickly apologized and she shook her head.

“It’s okay. Seohyun is known to do stuff like this.. I guess I should have expected it by now” She looked up at me now and I used this chance to give her a warm smile.

“Why don’t you go home, just to get your mind off of these stupid.. comments” I carefully put. She shook her head again.

“I really don’t mind staying, I won’t take anything personal. I like working for you. You’re kinder than any of my other bosses” She mumbled the last part and I chuckled at her sweet gesture.

“In that case I have a big favor for you” I quickly ask and she raises her eyebrow at me “Could you maybe.. Call the company Seohyun works for and make sure no bad article gets out for me please?” I finish.

“Oh” Was the only answer she gave me. She gave me a smile but her eyes told me she was devastated.

“Of course only if you are comfortable with it. I unfortunately can’t. I promised my wife I would be home soon. I only came to drop off some files” I quickly added, explaining my situation, and she nodded her head.

“Of course! I understand. I will get to it right away” She answered before turning around.

“Thank you!” I called after her. She didn’t look back as she pressed the down button on the elevator. She turned around to press the lobby button, her eyes still on the ground. I watched as the elevators closed and engulfed her.

I sighed once again, straining as I stood up from my office chair. I decided it was time for me to go home to my beautiful wife.

I smiled at the thought of finally going home only to end up on the couch. Snuggling close to my wife. Inhaling her intoxicating smell. Drifting off into sleep with her in my arms.

When I was downstairs, I could tell there was a visible buzz in the lobby. When I reached the front counter to receive my coffee, the receptionist looked sympathetic towards me.

“I heard what happened sir. I’ll have you know that I will always be by your side” She pumped her fist into the air.

I was a bit confused as to what she was talking about, but I brushed it aside, assuming she was talking about Seohyun investigating me.

I grabbed my coffee and walked towards the two double doors. On my way I spotted Seulgi. She was on the phone. She looked like to be in the middle of a heated argument. I also assumed she was trying not to let the article out.

Her eyes wandered around the room until they met mine, they widened for a split second before she smiled at me and turn so her back was towards me. I also brushed it off assuming it was to have a bit of privacy.

I thankfully reached my car in the parking lot without any trouble. I hopped inside and headed straight for home. It had been around a week since I’ve seen my wife, being that I had just came back from a business trip.

My heart leaped when I saw my home. Home sweet home. It was the best feeling to come home to my beautiful wife, being able to just relax with her and do nothing else.

Y/N’s POV

My eyes were glued to the computer screen, not exactly believing what was in front of me. This had to be a lie. There’s no way. It just doesn’t make any sense.

“Cheating..” I whispered the words, as if saying it would make it be more real to me.

“He can’t… There’s no way Jimin would cheat on me” I could feel a tear start to fall down my cheek and I quickly wiped it away.

I could hear the front door rattle and I quickly slammed the laptop shut, looking towards the door. I could hear the lock on the door click, and I realized Jimin was home.

“Jagi! I’m home” I heard a soft chuckle from my husband, and I couldn’t help but smile, despite the article I just saw before.

I walked into the living to find Jimin had dropped his bags in front of the door. His shoes were kicked off lazily. I turned towards the couch, watching as Jimin slipped off his work jacket and unbuttoned a couple buttons from his white cotton shirt.

His eyes wandered a bit until they landed on me, and his smile grew from ear to ear. He quickly stood up, walking towards me fast before engulfing me in a bear hug.

“I missed you” His muffled voice spoke through the top of my hair.

“I missed you too” I answered.

“Come here” He quickly said before pulling back. His hand slipped into mine and he gently dragged me towards the couch. I frowned, knowing he wanted to cuddle, but my plan was to talk to him about the article that just came out.

“What’s wrong?” He asked with a tilt of his head. He always seemed to look right through me.

I shook my head “Nothing” I gave him a smile. He was hesitant but sat down on the couch, forcing me to fall on his lap, straddling his waist.

He grasped my face in his hands, and I rested my hands on his shoulders. He brought my face closer to his, resting his forehead onto mine. I giggled while he chuckled.

“You’re cute” He commented before leaning up to give me a quick peck on the lips. He parted all too soon and I playfully frowned.

He laughed at my expression, laying down on the couch and pulling me down with him. He wrapped his arms around my waist while my nose snuggled into the crook of his neck, our legs lacing together out of habit.

I let out a sigh of content. Of course I was wrong. Jimin would never cheat on me. He loved me too much, and I loved him too much.

“How were my two favorite people while I was gone?” Jimin’s soft voice spoke, reminding me of my unborn child in my belly.

We had found out we were pregnant just two day’s before his trip. He had insisted on skipping the trip to help me, but I knew the trip was important as he would meet with all the bosses and discus further plans for the company.

It took some convincing, but he finally agreed to go again. I would lie if I said I would have been and felt better with Jimin by my side, but It would be selfish to ask him to stay.

“We have been great” I answered. if he knew I was lying he didn’t mention it. Instead he leaned down to give me a kiss on the nose.

“What is with you and the pecking?” I teased and he gave me a fluffy smile.

“I really love you” He whispered while leaning down to place a proper kiss on my lips. He cupped my cheek in his hand and I wrapped my arm around his waist.

We laid there for a while, just kissing. Not really leading any where other than enjoying each other’s presence and touch. I had missed the touch of his lips. He tasted sweet and just like I remembered him.

Just then there was a loud ringing noise. Jimin groaned and pulled back, panting a bit.

“I have to answer that” He said, resting his forehead on mine like before “It’s my work phone”

I bit my bottom lip and nodded “It’s okay. Go ahead” I answered. He gave me the cutest pout before kissing my cheek and sitting up, leaving me laying down on the couch.

He answered his phone with an unamused face “Hello?” He sighed. I watched his eyes suddenly go wide. Curiosity got the better of me.

“What?!” He shouted. I sat up now. Afraid something bad was happening. I leaned in close to the phone to listen in the conversation. Jimin hadn’t seemed to notice, if he did he didn’t do anything about it.

“-Yes! I need you to come right away so we can fix it” I could hear a woman’s voice speak. My heart dropped. He said work phone, and that didn’t sound like Seulgi. So who would it be?

“Alright. I’ll be right there. Do not do anything without me”

“Okay. I’ll see you soon. Bye”

“Bye” I laid back on the couch as Jimin pulled the phone away from his ear.

“What was that about?” I asked.

“Um..” He stood up now, grabbing his coat “I’m so sorry I have to go. W-work need’s me” I noticed his stutter. Something he does when he’s lying

“Really?” I asked one more time

“Yup. I’ll see you in a bit. I don’t think it should take too long” Once he was done putting on his jacket he walked towards me. Leaning down he planted a quick kiss on my lips and gave me a warm smile before turning around again.

“Okay.. I’ll see you” I mumbled. He didn’t answer, only opening the door to leave and close it as he exited.

I laid there for a while, lost in thought as I was trying to figure out what could have possibly happened. My mind wandered to the article I saw earlier and I frowned.

It couldn’t have been true. I quickly stood up and ran into my room. I pried open my laptop, but the article I saw before was not in front of my face, it was only a more elaborated one.

I gasped as I clicked the Video attached to the page. I sat down on my bed and made sure the volume was up high before I watched.

“Alright.. Mr. Park. First things first. Are you married?” I could hear a female interviewer ask my husband.

“You know I am” I could hear the distaste in his voice. I wasn’t sure if it was towards the question or the interviewer.

“Are you happily married?”

“Of course” I smiled.

The video was cut off and moved to the next scene and question.

“If an attractive lady came along, for instants Miss Seulgi here..” I wasn’t exactly sure what the interviewer was getting at, but I didn’t like it “..Would you tell her she was attractive in front of your wife?” There was a long pause with Jimin’s answer.

I could tell Jimin was looking somewhere in the distance and when the camera turned, it was confirmed he was looking at Seulgi.

“Do you even find Miss Seulgi attractive at all?” The interviewer suddenly asked, my heart started to race.

“Of course she’s attractive!” Jimin snapped and I swear my heart stopped for half a second.

“Oh.. Okay.. So.. Would you tell your wife that you are cheating on her with Miss Seulgi?” Jimin stood up suddenly, slamming his fists on the desk, making me jump at the loud noise.

“Why would I tell my wife I’m cheating on her!” There was a noticeable cut in the video and before I knew it Jimin was speaking again “Please leave” He said with a more calm voice.

The video suddenly ended, and I was left there staring at the black screen, not exactly sure what I just watched. Was this real? Was it forged? it looked a bit blurry, coming from a crappy camera. But that was Jimin. I know my husband, and that was very much him.

Someone like Jimin wouldn’t just cheat on me. It’s not real and I won’t believe it.. I can’t believe it. I mean I’m pregnant with his child. Someone who was as happy as he was when I told him I was pregnant wouldn’t cheat on me.. Right?

I couldn’t just sit here and watch this happen. I exited out of the video and read a bit of the article.

“… Is famous CEO Park Jimin having an affair with his secretary, Seulgi..?”

I skimmed through it some more and found a file attached to the article. It read “Proof Seulgi and Jimin are having affair-interview through phone call-from Seulgi herself!” The words emphasized “Seulgi”.

I took a deep breath before clicking the file and listening very carefully.

“..And now can you tell us how long this had been going?” The interviewer asked.

“Uh..” I could hear the soft voice of Seulgi muffled by the phone call. She nervously cleared her throat “Yes.. Um, it’s been around three years now” She answered. Three years. That’s how long Jimin and I have been married!

“Wow! That’s a long time. And how did it start?” The male voice continued to speak.

“Yes.. H-he came up to me around when I first got my job as his secretary. He said he wanted to become more than friends with me. I agreed. It was only until later that I found out he had a wife. I confronted him, and he said he was going to break off the marriage soon. That was until she got pregnant and things got complicated” I hadn’t noticed the tears freely falling down my cheeks.

“Mhmm. How do you think Jimin will react when he finds out the secret is finally out?” There was a small pause with the answer.

“I think he will be relieved. Knowing he doesn’t need to deal with his wife anymore. The entire time we were together, he couldn’t stop saying stuff about her like-” I slammed my laptop shut before I could hear the rest of the sentence.

This was not happening. I laid my head down on the bed, the sobs coming out. I couldn’t hold it in anymore, who would do this? Who would cheat on someone like this? Apparently Jimin did.

I hugged my chest. The loss of comfort dawning on me and making me feel even more miserable. How can people just sit here and watch this? How could I just sit here? I was being pathetic, laying on my bed and moping over my cheating husband.

That’s it. I had decided on it. I’m going to his work and I’m going to confront him.

I stood up despite my light headed protests. I forced my feet to move as I grabbed my coat and stormed outside. Calling a taxi, I made my way to Jimin’s company building.

I noticed there were news interviewers and camera men in front of the building. Wiping away my tears, I made sure to pull my hoodie over my face as I quickly walked inside. Thankfully no one tried to stop me.

I let the hood fall down as I reached the front desk. The receptionist looked up at me from typing on a computer, giving me a warm smile.

“Hello ma'am. How may I help you?” She asked kindly.

“Hi. I’m here to see my husband” I answered, the temporary label leaving bitter off my tongue. I looked around for any sign of Jimin or someone I knew.

“I’m sorry ma'am. You are going to have to be specific on your husband” She apologizes.

“Ah.. Yes. His name is Park Jimin” I spoke through gritted teeth. The receptionist stops typing and looks back at me, giving me the most quizzical look, like I told her I was a vampire.

She nervously chuckles “Aha.. I’m sorry ma'am. May you repeat that?”

“Park Jimin” I answer, my tone a bit more sharp. Why didn’t she believe me.

“I am going to need some I.D ma'am. Just precautions and all. No harm” She gave me a smile and I frowned.

“Why would I need to give you my I.D? I have been here before, people know me. I am Park Jimin’s wife” I quickly answer, getting a bit agitated.

“I’m sorry ma'am. I’m going to have to ask you to step out of the building” She no longer had a smile on her face. She waved somewhere behind me and when I looked behind security was coming our way.

“Wha- You called security” I looked back at the receptionist with an unamused look.

“I’m sorry it’s just part of my job” She went back to typing on her computer and I scoffed. How dare she? That little-

“What’s going on?” I heard an oh so familiar voice call from down the hall.

My head whipped towards the person, a smile on my face. I quickly remembered the reason why I was here, and the smile faded.

“Mrs. Park!” The receptionist looked a bit scared, and I couldn’t help the smug smile that was now plastered on my face.

“Y/N? What are you doing here?” Jimin asked me.

“You know her?” The receptionist asked.

“Of course I know her Soochan. She is my wife!” He quickly walked to my side, leaning down to give me a kiss on the cheek “Why would you think otherwise?”

“U-Um.. Of course sir. It was my mistake” Soochan stood up and bowed many times in apology.

“It’s all right, just don’t let it happen again” Jimin gave her a hard look.

“Of course sir” She didn’t sit back down until Jimin and I were walking away.

“So.. You didn’t answer my question” Jimin proceeded. I looked up at him only to see him already looking down at me. I looked forward again, towards the elevator Jimin was leading us to.

I thought of what to tell him on the way here. I had a speech ready. It was going to be perfect and he was going to be honest. But now that I was here, looking at his soft smile on his soft face, everything was blank.

“I just.. I just wanted to see you..” I mentally cursed myself. This is not what I planned at all.

“Oh, okay. Well I guess that’s understandable since I have been gone lately” He answered. We walked inside the elevator and I watched the doors close, trapping us both as we went up. “But now of all times..” He mumbled the last part, as if he didn’t want me to hear, but at the same time he did.

“What do you mean? Now of all times? Why can’t I see my husband?” That’s what did it. Those words brought me back to reality. Speech thrown out the window, now replaced with only feeling. I turned my body so I was now facing him, arms crossed over my chest.

“Whoa.. What’s wrong? Why do you seem angry?” Jimin reached out for my arms, but I pulled back before he could. I kept my gaze away from his face, afraid I would loose it and give in to his plea’s.

“Y/N.. Please? What’s wrong-?”

“Are you cheating on me with Seulgi?!” I shouted a bit too loud. Jimin winced at the shout and took a step back. I was breathing hard and my heart was thumping out of my chest. My eyes were now locked with his. I wasn’t exactly sure what I saw in them. Pain.. Fear.. Emotion.. Which one?

The elevator doors suddenly opened, leaving Jimin and I standing there, staring at each other. My breathing slowed down as I was able to catch it, but the silence was killing me. Why wasn’t he answering.

Jimin opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out except for a small sigh. He broke our eye contact and ran a hand through his hair.

“Please don’t tell me you believe that article..” He breathed out.

“I’m not sure what I believe any more” I mumbled. I watched as Jimin lost his footing and feel onto his knees. I could see a tear slip past his cheek and I could feel my heart being torn to pieces.

“I thought out of all the people.. You would be the one to.. to look past the article and.. trust me” He spoke in between breaths.

“It’s not that I don’t trust you.. I just.. I need answers”

“Why would I ever cheat on you!” Jimin shouted this time. The elevator doors closed again, and I hesitantly reached over to stop it all together.

“I honestly don’t even know why..” I thought about it for a minute. No believable excuse was coming to mind.

“Then why would you think I did?” I fell to my knees so I was now at Jimin’s level. “The whole reason why I came here was because I had to clear up all the fucking rumors about me cheating on you!” I tensed up at his cursing. Jimin never cursed unless he was really frustrated.

“I-I’m sorry.. The article-” I whispered, but Jimin wasn’t done.

“Someone told me that Seulgi was the one who let it happen” Jimin chuckled in disbelief “I told her to call the company and clear it up, but instead they blackmailed her and now things are ten times worse..” He let his head drop and I could see the shaking of his shoulders as he started to cry.

“I have to fire her.. Even though it wasn’t entirely her fault.. I don’t want people to think I’m keeping her because I want to continue to have an affair.. Even though I didn’t do it in the first place..”

“I love you Y/N. I will NEVER love any one else as much as I love you. You’re caring my freaking child for Christs sake!” He lifted his head up again, and my heart broke. Tears were falling freely down his cheeks, his nose and eyes were red and puffy. I hated seeing him like this, and I hated myself for ever accusing him.

“I’m so sorry! I’m sorry! I don’t know why I believed that stupid article! I’m so sorry! I love you too Park Jimin! I will always love you! I’m so sorry!” I repeated over and over. Jimin grabbed me into his arms, resting his forehead on my shoulder.

I ignored the wet spot in my shoulder, the only thing I cared about right now was Jimin in my arms.

“I’m so sorry! Will you forgive me?” I pleaded and I can hear the soft rumbling as Jimin chuckled.

“Of course I forgive you. I just gave you a whole speech of how I love you” He looked up at me again, quickly wiping his tears with the back of his hand. He gave me a warm smile, and I couldn’t help but return the smile.

I leaned up and planted a sweet kiss on his lips, when I pulled back Jimin rested his forehead onto mine and I spoke again “I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever-”

“One ever in enough” Jimin chuckled.

“-Ever ever accuse you like this again!” I finished.

“I’ll remember that” He poked my side and I giggled.

We sat there for a minute before realizing we were in an elevator. My eyes widened and we both laughed. Jimin reached behind him and started the elevator again.

While we waited for the elevator to reach to lobby floor, we stood up again. Jimin kept his arms around me while I rested my head on his chest.

When the elevator doors opened again, there was the receptionist and a couple firefighters in front of the doors, waiting for us.

“Mrs. Park! You’re alright!” She shouted.

“Yes.. Why wouldn’t I be okay?” He gave her a skeptical look. Clearly not over what happened earlier.

“The elevator was stuck, and it set off alarms throughout the building” I hid my face in Jimin’s chest, trying to hold in my laughs.

“It did?” Jimin chuckled with me “Oh. Well.. We stopped it manually.. So we’re okay” He answered still chuckling.

“Oh okay..” The firefighters were starting to leave the building, their job being done. While the receptionist stood there eyes wide, probably thinking we were doing something exactly opposite of what was actually happening.

“Oh that reminds me! Great new sir!” She suddenly spoke up.

“Yes?”

“The article was taken down and we successfully sued the company that made the article. A correction article was put up and all the rumors are starting to clear up” She answered with glee.

“How does this remind you of that..” Jimin mumbled and I giggled “Alright! Thank you!” Jimin took a step back, forcing me to let go of him. He walked out of the elevator while holding my hand, slipping past Soochan.

While we were out of the building and in the car, hand still grasping mine, Jimin spoke up “This calls for celebration” He said and I playfully pouted.

“I don’t want to go out anymore” Jimin laughed loudly.

“You’re too cute, I was going to say let’s celebrate at home with junk food and cuddling while watching a movie” He finished, and my smile grew “How does that sound?” He took a glance at me before I answered.

“That sound perfect”

I’m so sorry!! This story was supposed to come out WEEKS earlier than it did. I ended up getting a new job, and my schedule has been clouded up because of that. I also unfortunately got a fever, I had to go to the hospital (for a different reason but still), so I have been REALLY busy! I’m sorry! But I hope you liked the story!

Mixed Feelings

A/N: An anon request for a Spencer x Reader where Spencer falls in love with his therapist. @coveofmemories

                                                           ——-

After all that he had been through in the past seven years with the Bureau, he had to admit he needed help keeping himself steady. There was nothing wrong with that. He’d been through more in seven years than most people had been through in a lifetime. First, his friend, Elle was shot in her own home, and then turned around and shot an unsub “without cause.” It was never confirmed, but everyone on the team knew it happened. Then he was taken captive by Tobias Henkel, tortured both physically and mentally for two days, and saved - with a Dilauded addiction in tow.

For months, Spencer struggled with his addiction until he was finally able to get control of it. Then he was shot in the knee on the job, and most recently, his boss and friend’s wife, Hayley was shot by The Reaper, leaving his son Jack without a mother. This team had been through hell and he was finally able to admit that he didn’t have the ability to get through absolutely everything on his own.

That’s when he’d started seeing Y/N, the Bureau’s resident psychologist. At first, he was afraid to confide in someone at the Bureau. What if something about him alerted her and she told the Bureau and he lost his job? This job was his life - he wasn’t sure what he would do without it. However, in their first appointment, last week, she’d convinced him that to say anything would be to violate doctor/patient confidentiality.

“Whatever you tell me, you say in confidence, Spencer,” she’d said. “I promise.”

Immediately after leaving her office, he felt lighter. They’d only discussed Hayley’s death so far, but he felt a little bit better - and she had convinced him that he could talk to her without fear of losing his job. With that, he made an appointment to see her every week, and today was his second appointment.

“Hi Spencer,” she said, her warm smile inviting him to sit down on the couch opposite her. “How are you doing today?”

With a huff, he sat down on the couch and took a deep breath. “Actually looking forward to this,” he laughed. He never thought he’d enjoy therapy - he hated asking for help.

“There something in particular you need to get off your chest?” she asked, uncrossing her legs and getting up from her chair to grab them both a bottle of water.

“Kind of, yea,” he said, thinking back to this past week. After dropping off some files for Hotch to work on while he was home, he’d had a craving for the drug that had almost ruined his life. “About three years ago, I was addicted to Dilauded,” he admitted.

“But you’re not anymore?” she asked, sitting down casually across from him.

That’s what he liked about her; she wasn’t shrinky, she didn’t take notes or anything, she just talked. “No, after about ten months I started going to NA meetings and now I’m clean. It’s just, that after everything that’s happened with Hotch, I found myself craving this week.”

“When I first started college, I got into a very bad car accident, and ended up addicted to pain pills, so I know the craving feeling well,” she said, reaching into her pocket. She pulled out three coins. “A five year, and two one year coins.” She was seven years sober. “You didn’t give in to the craving?” she asked.

He shook his head. “Why?” she asked. “What did you think about that allowed you to not give in?”

He actually hadn’t thought about. It wasn’t a small craving, but it wasn’t an overwhelming one either. But when he thought about it more, he managed to come up with an answer. “I guess I didn’t give in because I know this team couldn’t handle more than one person falling apart at a time, and right now, we all need to be strong for Hotch’s sake.”

“So you wanted to stay strong for your family?” she asked with a smile. “That’s what keeps me going too. Love is a powerful motivator.” Moving around in her chair, she continued to ask him about his teammates. As he spoke, he found his mind wandering in a separate direction that his mouth. While he talked about his friends, his mind fixated on her smile and her eyes; they shimmered when she smiled. Focus, he told himself.

Nearly an hour later, the session was over, but he felt so much better that he decided to keep the appointment for the following week. Being able to talk about his drug history without feeling persecuted and having someone who understand the cravings first hand was truly helpful. “Looking forward to it,” he said, turning around to face her on his way out.

“Me, too,” she said softly. “See you soon, Spencer.”

                                                          ——-

Week after week, Spencer made his way into Y/N’s office, unloading all of the shadow he had collected over his lifetime. They spoke of his mother and her schizophrenia, the fact that his father walked out on them, hid drug problem and how it developed - he divulged it all.

Throughout it all, she knew just how to help him. She’d tell him a bit about her own background, but never actually made their sessions about her. They’d just talk.

For a while, their sessions were cleansing him week after week, but for some reason, he stopped feeling better. This time, he knew exactly why - he was falling for his therapist. On top of being beautiful, she was amazingly intelligent, a star in her field, funny, sweet, caring. She was the entire package, but she was his therapist, so how was he supposed to say anything? Their sessions became less and less frequent. It was too difficult to sit in therapy with her knowing that he was falling in love with her. She’d probably think the whole idea was completely unprofessional, but they were so alike in so many ways, he found himself connecting to her in a way he hadn’t expected.

A month after he’d last seen her, he went to another appointment. “Hey Spencer,” she said casually, a tentative smile flashing across her face. “How have you been? I haven’t seen you in a while.”

“I’m okay,” he lied, “Just haven’t been feeling well.” She scrunched her brow; she didn’t believe him and he didn’t blame her. He was a terrible liar.

She cleared her throat and sat on the chair across from him. “Spencer, I can tell that something is wrong. It’s okay. I’ve heard it all before.”

He wasn’t quite sure about that. It wasn’t every day that a patient fell for his therapist. “I doubt it,” he said, feigning a smile.

“Try me,” she replied.

He took a deep breath. Was he really about to confess how he felt about her? Should he? Was it completely unprofessional? “I haven’t been i-in in a while because I-I’ve been avoiding you,” he admitted, looking down at his fidgeting fingers. He was praying that she knew exactly what he meant so he wouldn’t have to say it, but being the good therapist that she was, she continued interrogating.

“You’ve been avoiding me? Why?” she asked, shifting in her seat. In the few tense moments before he spoke, he drank nearly his entire water bottle.

“I don’t want to make you uncomfortable at all, so if you feel like you need to not have me as a patient anymore I understand, but…I-I’ve developed feelings r-regarding you…over the past couple of months.” He finished speaking and looked up, a small smile staining the corners of her lips. “So you have heard it all before?” he asked.

“No, I actually haven’t heard that yet,” she chuckled softly. “Why wouldn’t you just say something?” The light streaming into the office hung beautifully around her delicate features.

“W-What do you mean why?” he asked incredulously. “Isn’t it obvious? You’re my therapist, I’ve developed feelings for you. At first, I thought it was just the fact that you’ve helped me, but it’s not just that, I find myself thinking about you all the time. I didn’t say anything because of the relationship that we have. I didn’t want to ruin that,” he finished rambling.

“But you’ve limited that relationship anyway,” she laughed again. “Nothing says I have to remain your therapist Spencer. Yes, dating a client would be frowned upon, but nothing says you have to remain my client. To be truthful, I’ve imagined us going out on a date quite a few times.” Her smirk put him at ease.

“So you mean, I could find another therapist and m-maybe take you to dinner some time?” he asked, his heart hopeful for the first time in the past two months. “I didn’t completely fuck this up.”

She laughed. As far as he could remember, he hadn’t cursed in front of her. “No, you haven’t fucked it up. I can’t keep you as a client, but if you’d like to dump me as your therapist, I’d love to go out with you…you’re probably one of the cutest clients I’ve ever had. Will this be your last appointment?” she asked.

“I think it is,” he smiled. “Do I have to sign anything to discontinue our professional relationship?”

She pulled out a form for him to sign. “So that’s it, we are no longer patient and client,” she said, getting up from her chair and sitting next to him on the couch.

Gently, he pulled her toward him by the base of her neck, grazing slightly against her lips before pressing them firmly to her own. “Good.”

Bad Decisions: Part 2

Part 1

Monday morning came sooner than you remembered, maybe because you had a hangover most of saturday.

You got out of bed and forced yourself to take a shower to wake up because you had to be to work soon. The water woke you up mostly and you finished getting ready by drying your hair before pulling it back with your hair pin and put some natural looking makeup on. You put a black pencil skirt and casual blue shirt to match before grabbing your bag and putting your laptop inside along the files you had brought home Friday. You went into the kitchen and poured some coffee in your to-go mug and grabbed a breakfast bar before grabbing your heels and keys.

You drove to work and grab your purse before rushing in.

“Y/N I need the files from friday our clients are asking for them and they were not at your desk.” Your manager found you the second you came in.

“They’re right here I finished them up at home over the weekend.”

“You can’t do that some of our clients have very public profiles and we can’t risk any exposure to them okay?”

“Yes sir I’m sorry.”

“Alright there’s a new stack on your desk I need them done before you leave today.”

You went to your desk and dropped your bag down. You did accounting data entry for some people that you never actually got the name of because your boss only referred to them by their client number. You had a suspicion that was because you were dealing with some politicians but on the other hand your office was kind of a dump and not in the best neighborhood but it was definitely discrete.

You pulled your laptop and got to work and you had a small chunk of the stack done when your manager came over.

“Y/N I need you to drop something off for a client.” He handed me a manilla folder. “Don’t open it it’s private but he own the club at this address you can walk over there because melissa is sick and they’re demanding it now.”

You didn’t know why any of the damn clients here couldn’t use email for the love of god but you got up and grabbed your purse before putting the folder inside before leaving the building.

You decided to walk since the address was so close. When you arrived your jaw dropped you were standing at the door to the House of Cards, The Jokers club. You took a deep breath and walked in there was a high chance he wasn’t here because it was the middle of the morning.

Walking in your heels clicked on the ground as you looked around it was surprisingly barren and empty.

“Hello? Is anybody here?” You walked over to the bar to see if anyone was back there. You couldn’t see anyone but your felt like you were being watched.

“What are you doing here we’re not open right now?” You turned around to see a man in a suit come from a door behind you.

“I was asked by my…” he stood over you making you feel shorter than you were. “ My, Um… Manager asked me to bring this over.” You opened your purse and started to look for the folder. You went over to the bar and started pulling things out to find it placing things all over the bar. You found the right folder and quickly placed everything back before turning to face the man. “Here you go um… our client was asking for it there’s a business card if they have any questions.”

You backed out of the club and rushed back to work. The last thing you remember seeing was a flash of green from the upstairs balcony but you were in a rush to leave so you didn’t take a chance to look back.

You went back into the office to find more files and a note on your desk saying they needed to be finished by tomorrow. You were gonna have to work late tonight you sat down and put headphones in and started to zone out while working on the files. You sometimes wished they could just have everything digital to begin with but now that you had met one of the clients you were questioning if it was a different type of person who needed to lay low.

You lost track of time and accidentally fell asleep at your desk. You were woken up by jeffery the night guy who helped keep the office clean.

“Hey Y/N it’s like ten at night why are you still here?”

“I must’ve fell asleep working so late.” You looked to see you had at least finished your files and placed them on your desk neatly and packed up your purse. You started digging around for your keys but you couldn’t find them… had you left them in the club by accident?

You called your roommate to tell her you had just had fallen asleep at work and would be home soon.

You grabbed a cab and headed home and paid him with a few twenties before going into your apartment building. You went into the apartment after climbing up the three flights of stairs. It was the best place in the world but it wasn’t the worst in Gotham by far. You went straight to your bedroom after leaving your work heels by the door. You put your purse on your desk that faced out the window then went and sat on the bed. Something odd stuck you that you had sat on you got up and saw your keys and a playing card, the joker card. You looked over to your desk to see your window was open and the curtains were blowing as he cold night air came in.

Somehow the Joker had figured out these were your keys and where you lived. Then he broke into your apartment and made it blatantly obvious that it was him by leaving a calling card, littalary.

You rushed out of your room looking for your roommate to make sure she was okay you looked around the kitchen and living space before you rushed into her room. You saw a lump on the bed, “Oh my god nooo Jennifer!” you ran over and shook her.

“Y/N what the hell I was asleep.” You gave a sigh of relief and sank onto the side of her bed. “Y/N what’s wrong?”

“Jennifer he was here in the apartment.”

“Y/N who are you talking about nobody was here I was home cleaning most of the day.”

“I had to go drop a file off because melissa was out today and it was to the club. I must have dropped my keys and he put them on my bed.”

“Y/N who are you talking about?” She got up and went into your room. “Holy shit the Joker was here. He was in your room Y/N!”

“I know that!” You were practically shaking because you were afraid of what he might have in mind for you. With him being Bat Shit Crazy, figuratively speaking, you had a feeling it wasn’t good. “I’m gonna sleep on the couch.” You went into your closet and grab some pajamas.

“Y/N you do know that isn’t gonna stop him he’s crazy.”

“That’s why I am also sleeping with this.” You pulled an aluminum baseball bat out from under your bed. “I’m gonna go change in the bathroom.”

You walked into the bathroom and put the pants and tank top on then cleaned your face and finished getting ready for bed.

You went into the living room and laid down on the couch with the bat resting near you. You closed your eyes but you don’t think you ever actually slept.
