A slightly updated version of “Hajimete no TsukiPro”, with QUELL’s information added in.
The original tweet for the first version of this stated that it is supposed to be “the Moon (light & dark)”, for the Tsukiuta. Series, and “Sky (Wind) & Trees (Earth)” for the succeeding units SOARA and Growth from the ALIVE Series, although they didn’t revise that part for this new version.
In the latest version, they included the differences were between the units within the ALIVE Series, SOARA and Growth, the differences between the SolidS Series’ SolidS and QUELL, although they are not necessarily restricted to such type of music.
ALIVE Series: ● SOARA - ‘youth/adolescence (seishun) band’-type of music ● Growth - ‘fictional/fantasy-ethnic’-type of music
SolidS Series: ● SolidS - ‘powerful/forceful rock’-type of music ● QUELL - ‘ballad’-type of music
The sound of rain. The heartbeat of this world, the rapid beat of drops hitting your window like mother nature rhythmically tapping away urging you to come outside. The sight of a dark sky. Clouds hiding away the sun, their turn to give life to the earth. The trees slowly swaying back and forth dancing to the roars and claps of thunder. Lighting piercing through a grey canvas adding life to the…

That is…a rather interesting look for a supposed isopod pokemon. It almost looks like a trilobite or a silverfish. Or a triops. Much like Grubbin, I want to see where they go with its evolution before adding it to my taxonomic tree in case that sheds a little more light on its animal basis. I am very hyped over another bug/water though, especially one that could potentially learn surf.
So with this project its basicly exploring ways i can lead the player through an environment, and doing so using tips from class back when we did all this.
So this project is set in a dark mossy tree root cave, so im using framing. Framing is very important for getting the players attention. So what im doing with framing is having too larger roots creating a frame so the player can look through them and see their goal.
Another tool im using for leading the player is light, in this environment its rather dark and the only light is at the end of the cave. Light gets the players attention and makes things look nice at the same time.
Unrelated to leading the player, but i also added in moss, this is just a textured plane that has got a modified shape to it. I think it works quite nicely, the moss has holes in it so the rock behind it can be seen through it. Having holes in it makes it fit more into the environment.
it’s crazy how there are some people that when they open their mouth
it doesn’t even matter what they’re saying
because all you can hear are nails on a chalkboard,
children crying, sirens, hail, and that annoying elevator music
and you just wish they would shut their mouth
and stop adding to all of the noise
and then there are the people that don’t talk enough
and every time they do, it’s like everything else has stopped to listen
like the quiet chatter of birds at sunrise
or the laughter that echoes through hospital hallways,
making the fluorescent lights a little less harsh
and it doesn’t even matter what they’re saying, you just don’t want them to stop
they tell you about the lunch they forgot at home
but all you can hear is wind chimes hanging from one of those pink trees
they tell you what their plans are for the summer
and it’s like their tongue is spilling out a melody more beautiful than
anything mozart has ever composed
And I wished you would never stop talking
Because when I toss and turn because the sheets feel too heavy
And the air is too thick to breathe
And the static of quiet buzzes in my ears
All I want is your voice on the phone telling a lullaby about the time
You learned how to play piano when you were ten
And even though you can’t play a single note now
You’re glad your mom forced you in the stuffy room every day
And I am too because I think your voice took more lessons than your fingers
And as I sink I thank God for piano lessons and telephones and voices
And music and the click of the phone when you realize my breathing got lighter
And I would plead with you
To never stop talking
Because if you do I might never sleep again
And a girl can only stand so much static
I learned that the hard way when you left
The tones my phone made when I dialed your number
Didn’t make me feel better
Because they weren’t followed by the steady rings
And your almost silent breaths before you start talking
Now the beeps are followed by the click of the lock button
And more static
It’s crazy how some people can open their mouth
And it doesn’t matter what they’re talking about because their voice
Can drown out all of the noise in your head
And it’s crazy how some people can start talking and all of the sudden
All you hear is the static like cotton in your ears
And you were always my favorite radio station
But you used to play the top 20 hits and now all it is
So I want you to know
I don’t need you anymore
I found other ways to quiet the noise
The colors of the sunset from the roof dampen the constant buzz of anxiety
And taking all my books off my bookshelves and putting them back
In order of my new favorites quiets the dull roar behind my eyes
And painting with watercolors puts colors into the sounds
To make the whole world a little more bearable
And the pills even though they sometimes make it too quiet
So you should know
I thought I needed you
But I found other ways to quiet the noise
Because a girl can only stand so much static
A crisp autumn breeze blew gently over the forest, rustling the golden leaves and adding its own touch to the sounds of the evening. It was All Hallows’ Eve, and while all the villages dotting the countryside bustled with activity from the various festivities, the surrounding landscape seemed at peace… though something seemed out of place. Deep within the trees, something new had arrived… fallen from the sky the night before while the people slept.
It was massive, whatever it was… Larger than the average house, but flat enough to stay below the treetops. Its smooth metal body contrasted sharply with the surrounding woodlands, and a few lights blinked softly underneath a thin film of dust. The trail of debris and broken trees behind it suggested it hadn’t had the most graceful of landings, and yet the thing itself was completely unharmed.
Something unlatched and hydraulics hissed, frightening the nearby birds and squirrels and causing them to scatter or fall quiet. A door opened, and out of the strange craft emerged the most unusual woman.
She could only be described as a monster… certainly nothing of this world. At full height, she was over twice as tall as the average man, and her gray skin had spots of rough, rocky scales armoring its surface. A long, snake-like tail glided silently through the fallen leaves behind her, and in addition to two very human-like arms, she had an extra, much longer pair that ended in fearsome reptilian claws. In spite of her monstrous appearance, however, she had a very calm glow about her… Serious, but gentle, and she smiled at the sights around her.
… Particularly at bustling village nestled at the edge of the other side of the forest, just barely visible in the distance.
With one hand the woman held a notepad, in another, a pen, and yet another, a recording device of some sort. She spoke loudly and clearly into the device, while simultaneously writing down her words on the paper as a hard copy.
“Merlinite’s Log… Planet Earth… Study 3A,” she dictated. “Ship hidden safely among the local plantlife and out of any prying eyes from the nearby village. Color of the foliage seems to have changed since my last visit… Perhaps an illness?” The Gem plucked an orange leaf out of her hair with her spare hand and let it drift gracefully to the ground. “This will require further investigation at a later date… For now, I wish to continue my planned study of what appears to be some kind of ceremony or ritual for the humans on this part of the planet…”
Merlinite quickly read over her notes to check for any errors, then double-checked again to make extra sure. Satisfied with her work, she nodded and packed away her equipment into a large bag that hung from her stacked shoulders.
“Alright,” she whispered to herself, clapping her hands together with anticipation. “Everything’s packed… Refreshed my memory on Earth life on the ride here…” The calm facade faded. Merlinite couldn’t hide her excitement anymore, and a wide, toothy grin split her face. She chuckled brightly as she pounced forward into the bushes and towards the distant village. “Here we go!”
🌱🌱: pic kinda sucks, but here’s the progress after I switched both trees over from a small sandwich bag to a larger gallon bag. I also changed the location, but not the direction, meaning it’s still getting the same light exposure as before but it’s just taped to a higher window. Roots are digging deep, leaves are sprouting although some look a little more red/yellow. I may have added too much water, but the potting soil soaks it up. It’s like a cheap greenhouse basically. But they started from little sprouts in the natural compost created between the windshield and hood of my car, and now??? I’m so proud of them 😄
