and I am TRYING to stay positive

I hate airplanes right now.

My shuttle to the airport did not show up so we made alternate plans to get there and I am now going to arrive 15 minutes before the flight. (Don’t worry it’s literally a 1 terminal airport and by that I mean there’s only 1 gate.)

But.

The flight apparently is getting in early around 1:45, so we’ll see if we make it. I’m trying to stay positive but damn this ain’t a good situation.

I just wanna get home.

WARNING: SERIOUS OVERLOAD OF FEELING OVER A BEAUTIFUL AND SPECIAL BIRTHDAY BOY AHEAD!

Today is the birthday of a young man so amazing, so fantastic, the world stops when his name is mentioned (or at least my world)

Today is the birthday of the one and only Min Yoongi also known as Suga or Agust D.

The first time I discovered Suga was a year and a half ago. Indeed, I had just signed up to kpop amino and someone added me to a ‘Suga appreciation chat’. And since i then wanted to fit in I was like ‘yea of course i know him’ while quickly searching for him. And before i Knew it I was trapped.

Min Yoongi is passionate

What to do when you really don’t want to study.

I think we’ve all been there - the class is important and you know you need to study but when you sit down you end up feeling grOSS AND YOU don’t want to. So here are some tips to overcoming that:

Take a deep breath and reevaluate why you need to study. Try to stay positive.

  • When I’m not motivated I keep saying things like “what if I just don’t do it?” And then - surprise! - I end up not studying and suffer/regret it later. When coming up with reasons to study, try to keep it positive. Don’t say things like “if I don’t study I’ll fail the class.” Instead, say things like “if I study, I have a better chance at doing well on the exam. Future-me will be so proud of current-me.”
  • If you truly cannot find a single reason to study, set your studying aside for later and do another productive activity or take a long break.

Drill it into your mind that you really don’t need motivation to do well.

  • Even if you find the reason to study, that doesn’t necessarily mean you are very motivated. Sometimes we feel like no motivation = unable to study. This isn’t true.
  • Make a deal with yourself. Try studying for ten minutes. And actually try to study. If by the end of ten minutes you feel like you can continue studying, great! Keep going! If not, then you can take a break and do something else.

Choose a study scheduling method that works for you.

  • Some people feel great studying for hours on end once they get in "the zone.” Others feel the need to take quick breaks every half hour. Studying and scheduling methods are different for everybody! Play around with scheduling to find out what works for you.
  • In high-stress times, work (studying, assignments, etc.) can feel pretty overwhelming. To organize all the stuff you have to do, write it down! This takes some of the stress of remembering tasks off from your brain, so that your brain can focus on the more crucial things.
    • If you’re making a to-do list, keep the general list short. This way, you won’t feel overwhelmed by too many tasks. (You can keep sub-lists on separate paper/sticky notes to break down each task.)
    • If you’re making a time-table, keep your schedule loose. Give yourself buffer time to complete each task, just in case you overestimated your efficiency.
    • It’s totally okay to overestimate efficiency! - ifyou do, you learn more about yourself and how you study best.

Small (pomodoro) breaks

  • Pomodoro technique in a nutshell: 25 minute blocks of working with 5 minute breaks in between. Feel free to change the length of the blocks according to your preferences! During your breaks, you can
    • Get more water
    • Get snacks
    • Make tea/coffee
    • Stretch
    • Do a tiny bit of yoga
    • Walk around the room/building
    • Stretch
    • Five-minute meditation
    • Head massage
  • Try to avoid looking at a screen. When you look at a screen, you stimulate your brain and it won’t get its rest. Also, the internet might suck you in and your break could last longer than intended. (cough tumblr)

Long breaks

  • Sometimes I really really really really reALLY don’t want to study. Or do anything. And I feel kind of gross and am on the verge of a mental breakdown. If you feel this way, stop.
  • Take a hella deep breath. And another one. One more. Aaaaand one more just for good measure.
  • Get away from your desk. I associate desk with studying, so getting away from it helps me relax. Lie down on a bed, or move to a different room if you can. If you can get near a window, try looking into the distance to relax your brain and eyes.
  • Breathe for a couple of minutes, then evaluate how you feel. Again, try to stay positive. Instead of “I feel shitty and I don’t want to do anything,” try “I feel tired right now and resting can help me feel better.”
  • Based on this evaluation, estimate the amount of time you need to rest. If you have a lot of studying to do, try to keep it under an hour. Set a timer for the amount of time you have decided on. (remember to include buffer time!) Getting back to work on time can make you feel more productive, which conduct better productivity!
  • During a long break, do an activity that makes you feel good and takes your mind off studying. You can
    • Take a long walk. If you live near a park or a trail, try strolling around in it.
    • Eat healthy food. Junky comfort food can make you feel groggy, especially foods that are fried. Instead, try eating some fruits or nuts.
    • Take a shower/bath
    • Talk with a friend
    • Make some art
    • Enjoy a long coffee break. (avoid caffeine if you feel anxious/panicky, though)
    • Play with a pet
    • Take a power nap
    • Longer meditation/yoga
  • Again, try to avoid looking at screens. Also, avoid thinking about studying. Let yourself have the luxury of NOT THINKING ABOUT STUDYING for a while, so you can return to it with a fresh mind.

Mental health days

  • Sometimes everything is just too much and you might feel the need to stop everything for a day. If so, take a mental health day!
  • Think of mental health days as physical health days. If your body isn’t feeling well, you are allowed to stay in bed and sleep/not do anything for a day. Similarly, if your mind isn’t feeling well, you are also allowed to stay in bed and sleep/not do anything for a day.
  • Let your parents and teachers know that you don’t feel well and can’t go to school. From my experience, most teachers are pretty understanding and will let you have the day off. (You might have some work to make up later, though.)
  • Do not study on mental health days. Don’t even think about studying on mental health days. Instead, just focus on getting better. You can
    • Sleep in
    • Clean your room
    • Take a super long bath, complete with bath bombs and candles
    • Watch a good movie
    • Read a good book
    • Sing your favorite songs really loudly
    • Literally anything that (IS HEALTHY and) makes you feel good about yourself.

Study groups can keep you going, even when you kind of don’t want to

  • Setting up a time (like a date!) can keep you on track
  • Study with someone you trust to keep you accountable. Don’t study with someone you know you’re going to gossip or watch cat videos with.
  • If you really feel the need to cancel a study date, it’s ok! Just like canceling any kind of date, it’s 100% okay to back out if you feel uncomfortable.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and happy studying!

I am trying to write a poem about my loneliness
But the page just seems to insist
on staying empty.
But loneliness isn’t emptiness
loneliness is the lead ball in the pit of your stomach
and the feathers tickling the back of your throat
loneliness is the itch you cannot scratch
it’s feeling far too much
far too little.
Loneliness is an all consuming enigma
of the past
of a past
Of a past you’re trying to forget
Of a past you can’t help but regret
Of a past that shoved you into the position
of isolation in which you reside
In which you’re going to die.
And sometimes solitude becomes gratitude
but the demolition of the monuments
that used to be perched on my ribs
left nothing but dust
and I am no longer grateful.

I used to build shrines in my heart to girls who would
never quite love me.
But that was never loneliness.
Unrequited love is a social activity because broken hearts
scream louder than all the wind in the world
howling together.
Despite the rain and miserable weather
I could fill myself up with love even though no one
would ever reciprocate
even though I always had to compensate
by giving more than I had left in me.
I would clutch my chest and rip out pieces of my heart
on which metaphors for love and birds and bones
and sadness and stars
would rest.
I could gift these to those who smiled.
Because nothing cuts into loneliness like affection
or attention
or the smile of someone who has no
reason to.
I suppose I never had a reason to.

I am trying to write a poem about the rain.
They say that people are nothing like rain
nothing like snow
nothing like autumn leaves
because people do not look beautiful when they fall.
A phrase I could never quite wrap my head around.
Because to me falling is dancing
and dancing is writing
and writing is cleaning your body of the toxins
that well up behind your eyes
and hide behind your liver
and pump fluid in your lungs.
What isn’t beautiful is hitting the ground.
The snowflakes will dissolve and the rain
will be absorbed by the greedy earth.
The leaves will rot
and you’ll be taking shots
Until your heart falls out of your chest.

Loneliness is falling
and falling is dancing
and dancing is writing
and I am trying to write a poem about my overwhelming
fear of touching the solid ground.
I am trying to write a poem about falling
Because I reside in free fall
and my heart falls for the snow
and the snow falls for the rain
and the first rule of gravity is everything
must fall
So we fall
And I fall
and you fall.

Self Care Sachet!

Hello! This is a quick little guide on making yourself a self care sachet. This can be used by anyone, but is centered around aiding those with long term mental health issues such as depression or anxiety.

They are basically a little promise you are making to yourself. Whether that be to remember to feel less anxiety over doing daily activities such as washing or brushing your teeth or just a reminder to not be so hard on yourself and to drink more hot chocolate, it’s up to you what you pick. The idea is to pick a purpose that cares for you in a positive way. I’ve been making these recently and they have really helped me. As the process is quite beginner friendly I thought I’d share!

You will need:

  • Herbs of your choice (Optional)
  • Small crystal (Optional)
  • Tissue paper (ordinary paper if you lack tissue paper)
  • scissors
  • A lighter/matches
  • Tape OR string
  • pen
  • ordinary paper/leaf

1. Write your intent down.

  • Some examples of intent: “I try my best to eat regular meals” “I am able to stay calm outside of my room” “I allow myself to enjoy a hot chocolate”.
  • Create a sigil out of your statement and write it down on another piece of paper or a leaf.
  • Read your statement out loud and will all of your energy into visualising it coming to fruition.
  • Burn the piece of paper/ the leaf and collect the ashes.

2. Gather your materials.

  • Cut a small square to make your sachet with from your tissue paper.
  • Add each of your chosen herbs to the middle. (I chose lavender for peace/anxiety, sage for wisdom and cleansing and dried dandelions picked in beltane for positivity and energy)
  • Add your crystal.
  • Close the sachet by either taping it or tying it together with a piece of string.

3. Hold the sachet in your hands.

  • Again, visualise all of your positive thoughts and good energy flowing through your arms down into the sachet. Kiss it, if that’s your thing.

You are done! Carry the sachet with you in your pocket, put it under your pillow, do whatever you want with it. Hope you have a nice day c:

Lindsay and Kara (and Barb/Arryn in agreement) want Weiss to be the one to comfort Ruby when all of this catches up with her and she finally deals with the things she’s been holding in while trying to stay positive.

They mention that Lindsay has been told that Ruby is legit holding everything in and trying to stay positive because she thinks she has to, but it will catch up with her.

I am so here for this

Personal post: I didn’t buy this, but I tried it on. I’ve never worn anything like this ever before, I don’t like showing a lot skin. I always felt really uncomfortable because I was insecure with my body. I still am, but not as much. Old me would have never even dared to try this on for the fear of knowing how disgusting I’d look and just being mean to myself. I admit I was hesitant on trying it on because of how short it is, but I did. I then realized how different my body is and how awesome I feel. This picture doesn’t show it, but before I took this I had a 3 minute dance party with myself because I feel good about myself and all the hard work I’m putting into myself. To end this I didn’t buy it because it really was too short. It was cute and I love anything with flowers, but just not comfortable enough to walk around in this. You know? 🤗Thanks for listening to me. Kay bye!

Why Aren’t my Spells Working?

A break-down of why your magickal intent may not be taking effect in your life

Hi there! So, if you’re reading this, you’ve probably had this problem at one time or another; in fact, almost all witches experience a ‘fizzled’ spell every once in awhile… but what happens when you’ve been casting multiple, and they all just won’t take? Here are some reasons why this could be happening:

  • The spell was not transferred enough energy to take effect. Think of this as filling up a balloon with helium ~ If you don’t put enough in, the balloon with just roll around or float a few inches above the floor, rather than floating high in the air like you intended for it to do. This can also happen with spells! There needs to be enough energy transfer (The energy you put in, the energy you’ve taken from something/someone else, etc.) to allow the spell to ‘take hold’ and manifest strongly and in the way you preferred.
  • You’re not helping the magick along when it requires you to do so. For many spells, such as magick geared towards jobs, people, physical events, etc. there needs to be more than just one magickal variable working towards your intent to manifest. You need to work for it; If you cast a spell for a job, you also better be turning in that application and resume along with it ~! A spell can increase your chance, luck, and appeal, but it cannot contact your employer and set up an interview.
  • (A break-off from the above reason) Your conditions just don’t allow the magick to materialize easily. This is the most possible to happen in weather spells, such as those to bring heavy rain to a dry climate area, or magick for something that your life/area just cannot manifest. For example, imagine somebody trying to cast a spell to ‘make one of their friends fall in love with them’ whilst having not a single friend in their life; the spell is incapable of materializing, because their are no variables for it to work with! It is a sad thing to think about, certainly, but this example shows how casting a spell that is wrong for your life situation can cause it to work improperly or not at all. (Tip: This person should have cast a spell for new friends first! This also shows how you may be casting spells that are wrong for the situation)
  • Your wording was not the best. Similar to how people will often word things in a positive or future-tense manner (EX: ‘I AM BRAVE’ / rather than ‘I WILL BE BRAVE’) during spellwork or how in some fairytales the genie will grant a wish in a horrible way according to the wording of a wish, you must be careful to be clear and concise in what you’re wanting! Stay away from vague or general wording; You’ll wish you had when you try to cast a spell for a person to love you romantically, and later find that they love you like a sibling or best friend ~
  • You forgot to/incorrectly grounded after a spell. Grounding is not only important to maintain your own energies, but it is also a good tool for assuring that the energies of your spell don’t simply go on floating ‘up in the clouds’, failing to come down to earth and manifest! Grounding after a spell also increases the chances that it will work faster.
  • Your focus/energy was off during the spell. Common for those with a low rate of focus, who’s mind wanders easily, or with low/confidence and doubt (which can especially put off your energies) you might have broken the intent of the spell while casting it. Not to worry, for spells can be re-cast and focus can be sharpened, but be sure to have a strong mind when performing visualization or transferring your intent into a spell! This can lead to a spell manifesting in a different way than you intended (which may not always be a bad thing) or just all-together not working.
  • (For people-directed magick) The person on the other end of your spell has a protection ward. If you’re simply trying as hard as you can to curse, heal, bless, cast upon another witch without their knowledge, there’s a chance that they have up some magickal barriers of their own. Be cautious with curses on other witches especially, since there are wards to reflect curses back upon the sender, and you never know! This can also be so if you are casting magick upon somebody to improve an aspect of their life; they may unknowingly be mentally/spiritually guarding, or ‘closing’ their energy, making it difficult for the magick to attach to them.
  • Further tip: Have patience! Some spells take a while to manifest or come to be, and if you’re becoming discouraged after them not working within a week, you need to have a bit of patience.

Keep in mind that these are things anybody can do without knowing; they do not at all make you a bad or incapable witch, but it is important to know and accept why they may not be working. I hope for those that experience it, these reasons can provide some insight ~ This post was inspired by all of the anons who have been asking this question frequently

Send me a message if you have any questions or comments ♡ Thank you!

(she/her, okay to reblog)

I just got out of the shower so this is probably the best I’m gonna look for one of these lmao

anyway, happy Transgender Day of Visibility! I almost never post selfies primarily because I am so unhappy with how I look but this is the one day I try to stay positive. So on the note of positivity, I wanna give you all a little point of inspiration:

I’ve been out as trans for nearly half a decade now and was finally able to start HRT this month after years of trying and failing to get approval or get insurance. It’s been a long road but it’s a reminder that even if it takes a long time, you can still get there. So please don’t give up because I know you can do it <3 Happy TDOV!

Have you ever gone underwater and tried to listen to the conversation being held on the surface? Well, that was how (Y/N) heard everyone that day. Distant, confusing, overwhelming.

Have you ever smelled something so disgusting you instantly feel like fainting? That’s how (Y/N) felt that day, even if there was nothing to be smelled because her nose was blocked.

Have you ever been hung over and trying to act normal? Go to work, talk to people, even going outside to the sunlight. It’s annoying, like a hammer hitting ones skull every time a noise can be heard, and the sunlight feels like burning one’s eye orbs and just the thought of living feels like a nightmare.

Have you ever been so tired you feel like you can’t move? That was (Y/N). It was almost as the invisible elephants had tied invisible weights to her limbs just so it was harder for her to move. Or even more logically, like a prisoner who gets to carry the black berry around for a whole day.

But she coped with it. She followed John all over London, making questions, doing research, chasing after people and stopping to have something to eat in between all of that. She did it without complaining, only because it had to be done.

To be a Doctor, John was very distracted – or too much into his job – to notice she was sick. Maybe because in London the weather usually gets healthy people to have red noses – without mentioning the massive amount of makeup (Y/N) had tried to avoid looking like a character from Zombie Land – or maybe because (Y/N) wasn’t complaining, but either way, John had no idea she was sick.

Eventually, their work finished with a black eye on John and a few dollars less from (Y/N)’s bag. The two friends said their good-byes and went to their own ways. John returned home to his wife, and (Y/N) went back to Baker Street to give Sherlock the information they had gotten.

“You look terrible.” Sherlock commented without looking up from the files on his hands.

today is mothers day, but if you are somewhat like me who doesn’t have a great mother that wasn’t in your life and you feel kind of empty and sad today.

Let me tell you - your mother and her flaws do not define you!

You not having a mother does not make you any less of a person.

You are your own beautiful self and anything she has or hasn’t done is not what makes you as a person.

You are loved and you are good enough!

There are people around you who love you so very much, trust me on this ok?

If you need someone to talk to, I am here for you. I can try to be there <3

I love you and stay safe, sweetheart!

My sadness is no longer quiet. I’ve become aware of it in my gradual realization that I hoard memories worse than any other person I know. I can’t seem to let go of things, whether they be people or not. Even as a kid, I couldn’t rip the tags off of stuffed animals or dolls because I didn’t want to forget where I got them.
I remember delicate details about moments that other people forget within days. I’m the one that holds on to them so tightly my knuckles turn white.
I remember the kisses she gave me on that Saturday night that she seemed to forget, I remember my cracked hands refusing to hold hers while I sobbed on her bed surrounded by her shaking words trying to figure out the right ones to say. I remember looking at her for longer than I should have, trying to figure out why I felt the way I did when we locked eyes.
I miss sitting on her bed in silence and staring at that black galaxy painting on her wall next to her array of books and pictures. I miss looking over to see her strumming her guitar without a care in the world, with her white button up ever so slightly loosened where I could see her dark skin peeking through. I wondered why you crossed your legs like that, while I stared at your fingers dancing on the strings suddenly wishing they were intertwined with mine. You sat there and you played, you played through the silence as my sobbing dwindled to nearly nothing and I found myself staring at what later I’d figure out to be the girl I’ve loved like no one else.
I sit on my bed in my cold room shaking. The temperature in the house is fine, but my legs are tense, and I find myself franticly switching positions to try and find comfort. I don’t. She was my comfort. She still is. Yet I am no longer hers, maybe I never was, I realized so suddenly that she never let go of the girl that brought her that home sort of feeling that she brought me.
I need to stop finding homes in people and try harder to forget things that don’t matter. But the more I convince myself she’s a lesson and not a ‘forever’, the more I try to wish that she is the farthest thing from temporary.

and if your first reaction to this is smth along the lines of “obviously you are bc liam stans are the whiniest biggest babies in the world” congrats, you’re part of the problem.

i can’t speak for all liam stans but i’m fairly sure most of us feel the same way. while others try to stay positive, i physically cannot do that. i’m an overly sensitive and extremely bitter bitch when it comes to liam (as this entire website probably knows by now) and i believe i have a handful of good reasons to be exactly that.

now allow me to list a few examples.
