Recently Ryan Murphy revealed in an interview that from episode 6 until the end of the 6th season everything is gonna change! Taissa Farmiga will appear and also does Finn Wittrock. Evan will play another character, and a lot of things that we saw on the documentary actually are not what we tought it was! Who else is excited to see what is coming on Roanoke?
For those of you who aren’t up to speed on what’s been said so far about “American Horror Story: Coven”, this is what we know:
This season is set in New Orleans and switches between the present day and the 1830’s.
It’s a showdown between the Salem Witches and the Voodoo Witches.
With a mostly female cast, executive producer Tim Minear says the following: “While there is a strong feminist theme that runs throughout Coven this year, there are also themes of race, oppression, and there is a very strong theme of family, specifically mothers and daughters”
Jessica Lange is back, playing “Supreme” witch Fiona.
Angela Bassett will be playing Marie Laveau, Queen of the Voodoo Witches, who is based on a real-life voodoo expert.
Kathy Bates has joined the cast as Marie Delphine LaLaurie (aka Madame LaLaurie, who, along with her husband, tortured and killed slaves, keeping them in a murder chamber under her house in the early 1800’s. Ryan Murphy went on to describe her as “the most evil woman ever”.
Unlike last season there will be some comic relief.
Frances Conroy is back, playing Fiona’s (Lange) high school rival, Ruth.
Sarah Paulson will be back, playing Fiona’s daughter Cordelia.
Returning will be Taissa Farmiga (Violet), Jamie Brewer (Adelaide), Lily Rabe (Nora/Sister Mary Eunice), Evan Peters (Tate/Kit), Alexandra Breckenridge (Young Moira) and Denis O'Hare.
New cast members include Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts and Patti LuPone.
Hopefully that’s got you all caught up! If I’ve missed anything let me know and I’ll add it.
