This week I wanted to promote 3 people who ran “firsts” this weekend.

runningwithpump has only been running since May (?) but ran his first half marathon this weekend and finished in 1:41:32! He has made really amazing progress.

amandafullofhappiness also ran her first half this weekend. She is super sweet and a fellow Georgian, too!

Finally, though you all know already, runningwithguts ran killed her first full marathon this weekend.

Done with negativity for the day.

There is never any sense when the binge monster come to town. Whats done is done and its not really that bad. Its amazingly hard to put it all out there to be so honest, I hope you just move onto a new fresh and happy day. Please don’t dwell on it :)

We all have those days and it definitely took a lot of courage for you to admit it. Don’t worry about yesterday, just accept what happened and move on. Today is a fresh and new day!

I like your “moving on” attitude … it’s so important to remember that yesterday’s or last week’s screw ups don’t mean we’ll repeat them today. For me, owning up to the mistakes puts them on my radar so I will have less chance for repeat.

Remember how crappy a binge makes your body feel.Enough binge-enduced stomachaches will make you reconsider. I’m glad you’re not freaking out about it. That shows some progress right there! :)

You’re being negative again missy! You’re gorgeous and still look hot in that dress, I’m sure.

You totally read my mind my saying this while I was compiling this post.

Putting it all out there helped me assuage my guilt and also show that it’s not as bad as I felt it was. It also helped me see that if I have too many days like yesterday, I could be back at 170 by Thanksgiving. Yikes!

I’m going to make my next 2 days of eating the best they can be, enjoy my trip this weekend, try not to compare myself to my gorgeous, tiny sis-in-law, and get myself straight when I come back. Is it wrong for me to want there to be a noticeable difference between when they see me this weekend & Thanksgiving?

all of the gyms post their WODs daily on their web sites, as well as on crossfit.com — you could just swipe workouts from there and mix and match to make workouts for which you have the right equipment (if needed) at home. lots of videos online to see how to do stuff.

Oh, cool. I’ll have to try them sometimes.

google “again faster abmat” they have them for $30. It’s too bad that they didn’t go into any lifting moves.

I was really hoping they would go over lifting moves so I could go lift on my own.  They were going to start that with the first Foundations class that was Monday, so they others would get it them.

Your hair looks gorgeous! Any tips for getting it to look so nice? Mine always seems to have weird flyways near the roots :/

Thank you!  One thing that helps is that I only blow dry my hair twice a week- Sundays for church and then once for work. My hair is the last thing I do, so it can air dry, and I can spend less time putting heat on it.  When I’m done drying, I go back over it with the cool air.

I also use a deep conditioner on the days I blow dry it.  I did get a new brush, too. It’s a round brush with a mix of tourmaline and boar’s hair bristles. It really helped smooth my hair. I even got a compliment from one of my friends at church last night who sees it all the time and noticed it looked shinier.
