Grace Santorini Hotel

A beautiful and exclusive boutique hotel in Imerovigli, Greece.  Situated 300 metres above the Caldera, this hotel boasts breath-taking views of the Aegean Sea as well as the Cyclades Islands.

*sigh*

Staying true to the beautiful white carved houses found in the hillsides of Greece, this hotel acts as the perfect blank slate against the gorgeous sunsets. Interiors remain white keeping with the softness and romanticism of the hotel. It’s so easy on the eyes!

Starting at around 500 Euros a night, I’d say round up your Euros, ladies and gentlemen. You’re in for a magical treat.

Palazzina Grassi by Philippe Starck

Those who know me, know my obsession with Philippe Starck. I find that I overlook the sheer hideousness of some of his choices and designs for their fantastical and whimsical aspects (e.g. Hot Kroon chandelier above by Piet Boon). His play on scale and proportion, drama and exaggeration, turn some of his designs and interiors into sheer delight.  (Who doesn’t love Alice in Wonderland??)

His work in Venice in transforming an aristocratic home into a hotel illustrates my point. The concept and driving force was to make guests feel ‘temporarily venetian’. Yes please, I say! This boutique 5-star hotel houses 16 bedrooms and 6 apartment suites with a private members-only club, and a restaurant.

There are 2 entrances; one by canal where guests can check in on board a 1960’s Celli boat, or by land, where the hotel stays hidden behind a door marked only by a bull’s head.

Guests can indulge all of their senses by the sights, feeling, tastes and sounds of this theatrical yet decadent hotel.
