This post is, in some ways, a continuation of this post, which gained a little bit of traction, and the responses to which touched me.
Hello everyone, I am finally returning to the studyblr community. I know I said I would be back in the beginning of January, but I decided to take a little break, for the following reason:
I started to study a little bit less, and play a little bit more. I know, when you scroll through the posts on your dashboard, it seems that studyblrs enjoy spending a majority of their time studying. And some do. But know that even the most popular studyblrs, who are no doubt determined and studious and passionate, need breaks from the seemingly endless reading and writing and practising. Know that choosing to spend the weekend out with your friends or by yourself rather than mugging beyond the requirement does not make you a bad student - it does not mean you are wasting your time. Sometimes - not always, but sometimes - time that you enjoy wasting is simply not time wasted. Sometimes it is worth it to sacrifice a measly few points for the sake of your happiness and for good memories. I took a break from this community so that I could find my balance without the nagging influence of insane - and pretty - study plans.
With that being said, this is why I have chosen to return:
A vast majority of the posts in the #studyblr tag are fake. Meticulously planned and artfully arranged, these rarely reflect the true state of the students’ desks. And yet there is a beauty in that - and it is that the people behind the camera, whose flawless handwriting decorate Muji Grid Loose Leafs (B5), hope to inspire. And they do. They inspire countless students tostart organising their lives using planners and bullet journals; to set goals for themselves, both academic and otherwise; to create study plans to help them coast through the year. It is true that these posts often drive students to expect too much from themselves, too quickly - but the point is that they drive students to expect from themselves. Take your inspiration with a pinch of salt, but why should we be afraid of ambition?
Studyblrs inspire you to reach for the stars. #studyblrs get real reminds you to control your spaceship.
