…am I the only one who noticed that all the jaspers in the new stevenbomb all have round gems? and now-corrupt jasper has a diamond/angular one? this couldn’t have been an accident, there’s probably a reason behind this…
starting T is exciting, and for the first few weeks/months you’ll be looking for changes EVERYWHERE, trying to measure how low your voice is going, how much your face is changing, etc.
But there will inevitably be a point (usually some time in your first year) where you will start feeling like nothing is happening; like you haven’t changed enough to where people notice, because your body shape hasn’t changed, you haven’t sprouted a full beard yet, your voice is still androgynous instead of manly, that T just isnt working for you.
And for that I have a little anecdote: I’m around 7 months on T, and I’ve noticed my voice drop, tiny changes in my face, and my peach fuzz has started getting longer. But because of the way my fat has not redistributed, I still get misgendered sometimes because I have a very distinct body type. So I started having those thoughts that I wasn’t changing and that no one was even noticing, and that maybe I was just unlucky and T wasn’t going to do much for me.
And then, something really cool happened - THREE separate people from my work, who only see me occasionally because they’re from different departments, approached me or stopped me to talk when they saw me. After determining that I was okay with talking about it, they each asked me if I was on hormones (a detail I didn’t share with a lot of people at work, but am comfortable with doing so if asked politely) and told me they had noticed because I changed so much since I started working there a year ago. They had noticed my voice dropping, that I looked different. One of them told me it was incredible how much had happened in just 7 months. And let me tell you, that was so amazing and uplifting for me to hear, and it totally changed my outlook on how I think about my transition.
The thing is, we live with ourselves every day. We scrutinize ourselves to measure just how much we are changing, but we miss so many things that happen because they’re so gradual that we don’t notice. But the people around us - they notice, they see and acknowledge that we are changing. I promise, things ARE happening. T is working for you. Sometimes it just takes stepping out of your own shoes to get a different perspective to see it.
Y’all can probably name a few of the old Renaissance masters, but unless you’re a particular sort of history buff, you’re probably not familiar with something called the studio system.
Basically, how it worked is that once you were famous and well-established enough that you could get away with calling yourself a master, you’d make arrangements with young, up-and-coming artists whereby they’d come and help you with your art projects, and in return, you’d let them live at your studio and do art full-time.
Some masters had only a handful of students, while others had dozens; Raphael in particular was famous for having had over fifty students working at his studio at one point, many of whom later became masters in their own right.
So… where am I going with this?
For the past several years, I couldn’t help but notice that a notable number of new webcomic creators and indie game developers seem to have some involvement with Homestuck in their past, whether as an artist, or a composer, or just somebody who once designed a t-shirt for What Pumpkin.
That alone would merely have been peculiar, but then this anecdote started going around about how Toby Fox developed Undertale quite literally while living in Andrew Hussie‘s basement to help out with the Hivebent project, and I couldn’t help but think: this pattern seems awfully familiar.
I guess what I’m saying is that Andrew Hussie is turning into some kind of fucked up present-day Renaissance master. Any day now he’s going to start rocking a Michelangelo beard and painting dicks on church ceilings - just wait.
Ladybug sat at the top of the Eiffel Tower, her head in her hands, wondering how she could have possibly screwed things up SO badly.
She heard the light footfall of her partner landing behind her. She couldn’t say she was surprised, he had never been one to leave her to stew in her own misery.
“So…” he drawled, coming and sitting beside her, “that was an interesting broadcast today.”
“It was a disaster,” she moaned, still not looking up at him, “I should just throw myself off this tower and put myself out of my misery.”
“Oh come on, it’s not as bad as all that,” Chat said, patting her awkwardly on the back.
She turned and glared at him. “It was a live stream, Chat! LIVE! It’s out there. Right now!”
“True,” he conceded, nodding his head, “but it’s not like you said anything horrible. It was kinda cute actually.”
“You don’t understand,” she moaned, slumping over so until she was curled up in his lap, “I’ve ruined everything! What sort of an idiot starts babbling about their crush on a live broadcast.”
“Well, apparently you,” Chat said with a light laugh, cautiously reaching forward to play with the ends of her hair, “and about half of the rest of the known world. It could be a lot worse buginette.”
“Do you think there is a chance he didn’t see it?” she asked hopefully, looking up at her partner’s thoughtful expression.
He gave her a pitying smile. “I think you’re pretty much out of luck their bugaboo. You already have a ship name and everything. It’s trending on twitter.”
“Ugh, that’s terrible,” she groaned, curling up tighter and burying her face against his leg.
“I don’t know,” Chat teased, “I thought Ladrien had kind of a nice ring to it.”
“This can’t be happening,” she moaned.
“Hey, come on. What’s this really about? Is it really going to be so awful for the guy to know you like him? He might be flattered.”
“It’s not that,” Ladybug said softly, “I mean, it’s MORE than that. I haven’t even told him I liked him- as myself, my not Ladybug self I mean. And now… let’s say he does feel flattered? That just means I have made myself my own competition! And it’s not like I can just go up to him and be like: Hey, by the way I’m Ladybug and, as you already know, I’m totally in love with you! Want to date me now?”
“Oh god,” Chat said with a sudden sense of horror, “there are going to be so many desperate fangirls trying to do that.”
“I didn’t even think about that! If he didn’t before he’s definitely going to hate me now. I might be the only person in the world who can simultaneously confess to her crush and make it harder for him to notice me!”
“You really are one of a kind there bugaboo,” Chat said giving her another reassuring pat on the shoulder.
“And what if this puts him in danger? I mean I might as well have stamped a butterfly tattoo across his back saying property of Ladybug, please exchange for one miraculous!”
“Please don’t do that. I am told that models need to be very particular about what they put on their skin.”
“It’s not funny. What if I honestly made him a target?”
“Hey,” Chat said “I promise you, if anything happens I will be the first person on the scene.”
“Thanks,” she said gratefully, reaching up and catching his hand in her own.
“So, you’re in love with the model boy,” Chat said softly, rubbing his thumb absently against the back of her hand, “gotta say I didn’t see that one coming.” “Yeah well, it’s not like it really matters anymore,” she sighed, “it’s not like it would ever happen.”
He scoffed at her, rolling his eyes theatrically to show his clear contempt for her pessimism. “So tell me My Lady,” he asked shifting slightly so that he could look down at her with a playful smile, “what is it that you see in this guy anyways?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
“You don’t want me, so clearly you aren’t after the guy for his looks,” Chat said wiggling his eyebrows flirtatiously.
“No,” Ladybug laughed, “although they don’t hurt.”
“Why My Lady, was that you finally admitting that you find me attractive?”
“You’ve always been attractive and you know it,” she said reaching up and flicking his bell. “As you can see I’ve just had my attentions elsewhere.”
“Oh so this is a long standing attachment then? How long have you been dreaming of being M’Lady Agreste?” he teased poking her lightly on the nose.
“Almost from the first day I met him. It will be two years next week,” she said softly.
“The start of school,” Chat murmured, “you know him then?”
“yeah,” she admitted reaching blindly around to catch his other hand and pull him to her like a security blanket. “We were in the same class in college and we still have a few classes together now. Plus our friends are dating so we hang out a lot.”
“You two are close then,” Chat said a little breathlessly, “that… well that certainly clears things up.” “Yeah,” Ladybug said, “it’s not just some creepy celebrity crush. I mean, it kind of was that too. I have like 2 dozen photos of him plastered on my wall that I used to practice talking to because for the longest time I could barely string a sentence together around him, it was kind of embarrassing. I got over it eventually, but by that point I didn’t really have the heart to take the pictures down.”
Chat gave her a warm smile. “I can see it now, you stuttering and tripping and shooting the poor confused boy adorable awkward smiles before running off in the opposite direction.”
“Shut up,” Ladybug said but she couldn’t help grinning at her partners soft tone and fond smile. “I got better.”
“I know.” He raised one of her hands to his lips and gave her a delicate kiss. “So you still haven’t told me what you see in this guy,” he challenged, “If I am getting demoted to your rebound choice I deserve to know what I am up against,” he said slyly.
“He’s kind,” Ladybug smiled, filling with warmth as she thought about her love. “He always wants to see the best in people, and he… he is just good, you know? The kind of goodness that doesn’t come from ignorance or being sheltered, but that has seen pain and and heartache and loss and yet still chooses to be good.
“That is high praise indeed My Lady.”
“You aren’t going to make fun of me for this?”
“No My Lady. If anything I am going to love you more for it.”
She gave him another grateful smile before sitting up. The sun had begun to set and she knew she should be getting home. She probably had a dozen of so missed calls from Alya waiting for her.
“Well who knows,” she said attempting to be flippant. “Maybe he’ll finally just reject me and I will change my mind about you Kitty.”
“Wouldn’t that be a twist,” Chat laughed climbing to his feet and offering her his hand to help her up as well.
“It would probably be for the best,” she sighed. “It’s not like we can be together. Not with Hawkmoth still on the loose. There is too much at stake. And I don’t know if I could bear having to hide my identity in a relationship.”
Chat grinned again. “You are very wise My Lady.”
“Mostly I am just telling myself that so I can feel better,” she admitted and was rewarded with a loud melodious laugh.
“You know,” he said, eyes twinkling “you are probably right. Clandestine meetings, midnight makeout sessions, it’s probably better to hold out for the real thing.”
“Besides, I hate to break it to you My Lady but I have a sinking feeling that #Ladrien is not to be.”
“And why is that Kitty?”
Chat said looking out at the sunset, “not to be the bearer of bad news but I have it on very good authority that your lover is very much spoken for.”
“oh?” Ladybug said trying not to let her disappointment show.
“Yes, completely and hopelessly in love. Someone at his school in fact.”
“And who is this mystery girl?” she asked.
“It’s right on the tip of my tongue,” Chat said his eyes glittering with something she couldn’t quite name, “it will come to me. I’ll have to tell you next time I see you.”
“Well thanks for the heads up,” she said leaning over to give him a kiss on the cheek, “and thanks for cheering me up.”
“Always My Lady. I should probably get heading home myself.” he pulled out his staff and and extended it.
“Oh,” he said, shooting her a final grin as prepared to depart, “I do remember one thing.” “And what’s that?”
“The mystery girl, I knew there was something about her that I found particularly delectable.”
nope, maybe the GIF that personally makes me weak
it’s the imagine that I wrote a few days ago and that was deleted somehow,
I’m sharing it again now. I know some people had the same request but
anywayyyyy (thank you to the ppl who told me to post it again
I just imagined a Patronus for Pettigrew, don’t mind it if it bothers
you. I loved this request and got a bit carried away, it was just so
at Hogwarts everybody hated monday mornings, as they symbolized the
end of the weekend, the return in class and especially, implied a lot
of exhaustion. In fact, everybody except the 6th
years, because to them Monday morning meant Defense Against the Dark
Arts. Here you were, at your usual seat next to the wall on the first
row. The classroom 3C had probably the biggest windows out of all the
Turris Magnus, unfortunately you were too short to observe the view
-everybody was- but you still tried to take a look everytime. You
were on tip-toes, taking
advantage of the fact that your teacher had not yet arrived to make
know Y/N, I really enjoy the view you’re offering me when you stand
up like this in front of me, but I think you should just sit down as
our dear Professor is here. » whispered Sirius behind you. Your
cheeks turner red as you did what he said, sighing in exasperation
and trying to focus on the tall man standing in front of the class.
Sirius knew his little seduction game made you feel a bit flustered
and that was exactly why he liked doing it so much, he didn’t want
you to be uncomfortable, he was only joking and you knew it. Out of
the four Marauders, you spent most of your time with him or Remus,
who actually introduced you to the others after meeting you at the
I will try, and please notice that I said try, to teach you something
that I know most of you have been waiting for. » said your
teacher solanemly, holding his hands together behind his back. « The
majority of witches and wizards are not able to produce it for it
requires patience, concentration and determination. You probably
guessed it already, I am talking about the Patronus charm,
one of the most powerful defensive charms that exist.»
everybody started to whisper enthousiasticly to their neighbors, and
even Lily who usually was the definition of the model student seemed
hysteric. You smiled when you saw her, her dazzling hair flying in
the air while she turned around towards the boys, already beginning
to discuss on the shape their patronus would take. James had already
managed to produce one and it was a deer just like his animagus. He
could be turbulent, sometimes even insolent, but nobody could deny
that he was an incredibly talented wizard just like Remus who was
sitting next to him. Strangely, he stayed away from the general
euphoria which spread in the class, playing almost nervously with his
hands. You frowned, ready to ask him what was going on when your
teacher knocked two times on the desk with his fists. The noises
stopped and everybody looked at him once again.
To produce a Patronus, it is necessary to concentrate on your most
beautiful memory, and only this one. Find the memory that warms your
heart the most and say clearly, wand in hand :
expecto patronum. » Suddenly, a silver eagle flew from his hand
and in the classroom. It was both beautiful and captivating. «
requires training, today we shall satisfy us with approaching the
theoretical side of it and in the next class, I hope that you will be
ready. Just know that it is difficult to obtain a corporeal patronus,
and that its purpose is not to be beautiful, but to protect you from
Dementors. Whether it is a rat, cat or lion, its power will be the
same : the partonus is a shield, a messenger and a protector. »
kept speaking during the whole following hour, adding that even if
the animal shape the Patronus took did not define its strenght, it
could mean something important for the wizard. Leaving
the class everybody had only an idea in head : discover what their
patronus was. The four boys, Lily and you had mutually decided to
train together by the lake this afternoon. But right now you were
going to eat, Sirius and James led the group speaking loudly and
walking way too fast. Behind
and standing by your side, Lily seemed to explain to Peter the
details he had not understood. You left them silently to join Remus
who walked at the back, alone, head low and dragging his feet. He
raised his head when he saw you were waiting for him and turned the
gentle smile you were giving him back to you. Interlacing
your arm in his, you jumped at the opportunity to be alone with him
to ask him what was wrong. Remus sighed, he seemed embarrassed and
you strated to worry.
He looked around to be sure no one was listening and then he bent a
little towards you.
afraid my corporeal Patronus gives too much away, if you know what I
mean. I already tried with James and it almost worked, and I swear I
saw a long hairy tail before the light went off. » He
whispered, biting his lip « With you guys it doesn’t matter,
but if anyone else sees it… » He didn’t finish his sentence
but you knew what he meant. Remus had always suffered because of his
lycantropia, his parents and him had a nomadic life before he came to
Hogwarts thanks to Dumbledore. Everytime someone started to be
suspicious, they left and the little Remus never got to make friends.
Even now that he had friends, really good ones, he was still afraid
someone would found out. Taking his hand in yours, you squeezed it
gently so he knew he wasn’t alone and you were here for him.
can practice alone another day if you want to be sure, you don’t have
to do it today if you don’t want to. »
think that’s a good idea, thank you Y/N. »
4pm, you sat
in the green grass which lined the lake, between Sirius and Peter who
seemed strangely concentrated into tearing away the petals of a
flower one by one. You turned around towards Sirius who was already
looking at you. You felt your cheeks burn a little when he did not
look away which made him laugh, revealing his white teeth and his
dimples. He was a handsome young man, really,
and you never knew if you just found him attracive or if it was
Anyway, you came back to reality when James showed up, back from his
Quidditch session. A proud smile could be seen on his face as per
usual, and it grew even bigger when a bunch of Gryffindor girls
passing by stared at him like he was a piece of art, or a piece of
meat. It always made Sirius giggle but Lily just rolled her eyes
every single time.
you mess your hair up on purpose again just so you can look like some
Quidditch rock star ? » suggested Remus, looking quite amused.
be authorized to criticize my hair when your furry little problem
will be solved, Moony chéri. » teased James, winking before he
spoke again while turning around « Let’s get started folks, why
don’t we let the Lilliputian try first. »
laughed, James flirting with Lily was the funniest thing ever, especially when he came up with these strange nicknames but you had
to admit that for once it wasn’t so bad. She stood up, pointing her
wand towards him which caused him to slightly move to the side.
fact I’m two months older than you Potter, show me some respect. »
Remus, Peter and Sirius giggled while James seemed outraged, but
before he could come back with anything Lily exclaimed, her wand
pointing to the sky « Expecto patronum ! »
held your breath just like the others while slowly but very clearly,
the tip of her wand, a bright silvery light started to burst before
fading out. She tried again multiple times with James giving her
advices and finally, a tall and gracious doe was running in the air,
following the rythm of Lily’s laugh. Her green eyes were wide opened,
she seemed proud and happier than ever. You all applauded, Peter even
took a bow.
strange, isn’t it ? Your patronus is a doe and Potter’s one is a
deer. If it isn’t a sign, I don’t know what it is. » teased
Sirius, winking to Lily. Her cheeks turned bright red before she
exlaimed « Simple coincidence, that won’t make me go out with
you any sooner Potter. »
you formed little groups, James and Lily stayed together, Sirius was
with Peter and Remus with you. This way, the others didn’t pay
attention to the fact that Moony wasn’t really trying to practice and
he was pleased about it. You tried to remember all the informations
your teacher gave you this morning, and took a deep breath. You hoped
it would work but as Lily said again and again, it was a difficult
spell and it was normal if you didn’t succeed on your first tries. For
what felt like an hour you persisted, repeating the two little words
again and again, sometimes managing to produce a little shiny light
at the end of your wand. But no animal, nothing. Frustrated you
sighed noisily, which caught the attention of Remus, Sirius and
Peter. The two others seemed too busy arguing about who-knows-what,
and anyway they did not really need to practice anymore.
your disappointment, Sirius smiled softly before suggesting to the
boys to train together and that he would help you. After all if that
did not work so well that way, you could try.
can’t do it either, you know. Maybe it’s because you distract me. »
he suggested, teasing you once more with a grin on his face.
not funny Sirius. » you whined, a pout on your lips.
looked at them for a bit too long before coming back at your eyes.
Finally he stood behind you, his chest pressed against your back. You
were thankful he was behind, at least he couldn’t see your burning
cheeks but it wasn’t finished yet because you could now feel his
strong hand taking yours, holding your wand with you while the other
one was placed on your hip. Your heart was racing and you were
probably shaking too because he laughed soflty, speaking soflty.
you’re not thinking about your happiest memory. Close you eyes, the
first one to come to your mind is probably the good one, focus on it.
Even if his body pressed against yours and his breath crashing on the thin skin of your neck did not help you at all, his soft and low voice was relaxing and you now thought of nothing else. You no longer heard the sound of the wind in the trees, nor the murmur of the water of the lake, you did not see your friends staring at you a little farther : it was his voice and his body near you that occupied all your mind. You closed your eyes as he had suggested, and with trembling lips you pronounced the two words « Expecto patronum. » You opened your eyes slowly, just in time to see a magnificent light spraying out, more powerful than what you had managed to do until then. It grew larger, Sirius’s hand still held yours and guided the movements of your wand. After a few seconds, you saw it. In front of you stood a brilliant, tall and perfectly formed dog. But it was not a common dog, you had seen this one several times already and you recognized it immediately. You understood that Sirius did too when you felt his fingers release your hand smoothly and his body move back slowly. Your concentration broke and the big dog disappeared. You did not dare to turn around, both shocked and mute, because you finally knew what your patronus was. And it was him. It was Padfoot.
You stood there, sitting on your bed without knowing what to do or even what to think. After the events of the afternoon you quickly ran away, stammering that you did not feel well and that you were going to rest. But everyone had seen the same thing as you, and everyone knew that your patronus was none other than Sirius Black himself, or at least his animagus form. You tried to convince yourself that it was just a simple dog, but you knew what you saw. Maybe it didn’t mean anything at all, maybe it did. It probably did. Sirius and you had been friends for years and even though he liked to tease you all day long, it had never been more than a platonic relationship. As you kept thinking about this, images started to come to your mind. The day you met, how funny you found him, yet annoying. The first time you sat together in class, and how you spent the hour drawing stupid things on each other’s books. That time in 4th year when he punched a guy who insulted you, and definitely got a detention for it. When one of his pranks hurt you and he brought you chocolate and flowers to make it up. The time he hugged you so tight after Gryffindor won the house cup that you thought he was going to choke you. Maybe he wasn’t just a friend after all, and it took you a couple of years and a patronus to realize it. A knock on your door made you lift your head up, the person did not let you any time to answer and entered the room.
« Can I come in ? » asked the black haired boy. « A bit too late to ask, isn’t it ? »
Sirius did not answer, he just closed the door leaving you both alone in the dorm. He sat next to you, your knees barely touching, but not a word was said. You looked at the floor for a few seconds before you saw him turning his head to you from the corner of your eye. Slowly, you looked at him too, your heart skipping a beat when you met his dark grey eyes.
« Why did you leave earlier ? You missed something, we learnt that Peter’s patronus is a mole. » « You know why I left. » you said, smiling slightly at the end. « You don’t have to be embarassed about it. » he shrugged « But I have to admit that I thought it would be something else. » « Like what ? » « A penguin. »
You scoffed, clearly not especting that answer. Sirius looked at you curiously, he didn’t seem to understand why you were chuckling but he still smiled when he heard your laugh.
« What ? They’re cute and funny, everyone likes penguins. » he smirked. « Nope, you’re probably the only person to fancy penguins that much. » « Well I don’t try to hide it. You shouldn’t either. »
His last words were whispered in your ear before he placed a soft kiss on your shoulder. You knew what he meant, and you couldn’t act as if the butterflies flying in your stomach weren’t here. He bent down to give you another kiss, on the cheek this time, but the weight of his body made you both fall back on the bed. You laughed as he found himself lying on top of you and for the first time since you met him, you saw a light shade of red on his cheeks. You stayed like this before he kissed your forehead, and then your nose. You smiled and he looked at your lips, and back at your eyes again. Your hands made their way to the back of his neck as he brushed your lips with his own, without ever pressing them together. Your heartbeating probably echoed throughout the entire room, or maybe it was his own. He smirked again when he saw the look full of frustration and desire you gave him, biting his lip and kissing the corner of your lips and then your cheek, before whispering in your ear again.
« I always knew you were a dog person. »
And after that he finally pressed his lips against yours, tenderly, as if you were the most precious thing in the world.
In the 18 years since
Columbine, there has been a fair amount of new information about Dylan
Klebold released mostly by his family. This gives us more insight into
his mindset and what type of person he was. However, hardly anything new
has been released by Eric’s family or friends. He remains largely a
mystery, as his family and friends have kept silent about him. Now, I
realize that the transition from child to teenager changes people
drastically, but any insight into the mind of Eric Harris at any point
in his life can provide a more complete view of who he was as a person.
Can you tell me a little about your childhood up to the point you met Eric? -How old were you when you met Eric Harris? -Can you recall the first time you met him?
met Eric when I was about 9 or 10 years old. The first time I met him
was during my first baseball practice. I’ve already told you the story
of that day, so I won’t re-tell it unless you’d like me to.
How close would you say your friendship was with him? Were there any defining moments in your friendship?
won’t lie and pretend that we were best friends or anything. He was a
grade above me in school, so he had more friends that were in his own
grade, so we only would hang out or talk during recess or outside of
school hours. We did stay over at each other’s house once or twice
maybe. In hindsight, the biggest thing that stands out is how he
reacted when he accidentally hit me with a baseball at my first
practice. It’s quite a thing to think that he was so upset and sorry
that he had hurt me at practice, then fast forward to seeing him on the
news during high school.
In a few sentences, how would you describe Eric’s personality during the time you knew him? Was he a nice person, or mean? -Do you recall any of his interests? What sort of things did you two bond over?
was a really normal kid from what I knew of him growing up. He wasn’t
some obnoxious kid, nor was he overly shy. He was very vanilla, in a
good way. Around that age, most kids liked playing outside since there
were always so many kids living on the air base, and video games.
did Eric rank on the social totem of the elementary school you two
attended? Was he considered popular? Unpopular? Somewhere in between?
recollection of Eric was as a very middle of the road kid. I never
recalled him getting picked on during recess or by other kids in the
neighborhood. He wasn’t mean to other people, at least as far as I can
you ever meet Wayne and Kathy Harris or any other members of Eric’s
family? If so, what did you think of the family dynamic/atmosphere of
the household? -What was his relationship with his father like? His mother? -Have you ever met Kevin Harris? If so, what did you think of him? -Do you have any memories that stand out of the Harris family?
couldn’t say what his relationship was like with his parents behind
closed doors, but I remember his dad or mom being at little league
practices and games, which wasn’t the case for all of the kids growing
up. I don’t recall his dad being “that guy” who would yell at his kid
from the stands or anything like that (my dad was “that guy”). I was never really around Kevin, so nothing stands out about him to me. Our dads worked together in the military, so they already knew each other before Eric and I ever met.
Did he ever give you any indication that he was violent or unstable? If so, could you elaborate? -Did he bully anyone in school, or was he bullied?
there was nothing I saw that would have ever indicated that he was
violent or unstable, which is why it was so shocking to me when I saw
him on the news. I don’t recall him ever bullying someone or being on
the receiving end of it.
you have any specific memories that stand out of Eric? We’ve heard
about the little league story, I’m wondering, are there any other
memories that come to mind?
just remember him being a nice kid, overall. The little league story
only stands out now in light of what happened with Columbine. If not
for that, I wouldn’t really have any story that stands out about him.
Did Eric ever speak about wanting to do anything violent, or said anything weird along those lines?
he was not an angry kid when I knew him. I definitely would have
remembered him saying something outlandish, even if Columbine hadn’t
Did you keep in contact with Eric after he moved away?
ran into each other on occasion at Plattsburgh, since both of our
families moved there, but again, he was at a different school and we
didn’t see each other much. No internet back then, so I completely lost
track of him after Plattsburgh.
Are there any inaccuracies you have noticed in the media/culture surrounding the persona of Eric Harris?
only seen the part of Bowling for Columbine that pertains to the kids
from Oscoda that were interviewed. I was off at college during that
time, so I wasn’t aware of the interviews after the fact. I wouldn’t
have agreed to be on camera talking about it, because that’s just not
who I am. I will say that at least one of the kids interviewed seems a
little “iffy” to me. I know it’s bad to say, but Eric’s father was a
high-ranking officer, so I have a difficult time believing that he would
have been in the same social circle as some of the kids interviewed.
Not to say that Eric would have thought himself better than them, it’s
just that he wouldn’t have been in the same circles by virtue of his
circumstance as the child of a military officer. I can’t say with 100%
certainty that the people interviewed in the documentary were lying, but
What are your
personal thoughts/opinions of Eric Harris and the Columbine massacre?
What do you personally believe led to Eric and Dylan killing their
schoolmates and then themselves?
up in the air force, you move frequently. After the base in Wurtsmith,
we moved 2 more times. At Wurtsmith and then Plattsburgh, I was a
relatively popular kid and did not have any real social issues with
people. At the very last base we moved to, I was instantly a social
pariah and picked on incessantly. It’s a weird thing to go from one end
of the social spectrum to the other, just based on the air base you’re
at, but it can definitely happen. The last move completely scarred me
socially and I still have issues based on the experience. I think it’s
completely possible that Eric experienced this when he moved to
Colorado, possibly even before that, when he moved to Plattsburgh. I
rarely saw him there since we were in different schools. It would not
surprise me if he didn’t start getting bullied until after he moved to a
new base. It can be that simple that someone is a regular kid who gets
along with people at one air base and then moves to another where you
get bullied constantly and completely change your mentality.
