Will Byers high school headcanons???

thanks so much for suggesting! ☺️

ok so here they are:

  • will, lucas, dustin and mike are all into different things but they’re still best pals
  • will is so into art and gets asked to draw posters for the different clubs that the school hosts
  • i also think he’s loved by every teacher because he never does anything bad and always tries his best
  • i ALSO think he has other arty pals but always makes sure he sits with the boys at break and lunch and the same goes for the other boys
  • He loves painting landscapes and sometimes, when he’s sitting at the table with the other boys and the other 3 are having an in depth convo about what they like, Will is not having an input but rather drawing their faces while they are talking about something they’re passionate about because he loves the way his friends faces light up and he wants to capture it
  • i think will had  a minor crush on mike in middle school and it has escalated a bit lol
  • gets a weeee bit heartbroken when he sees mike with girls but he doesn’t mind as much as he could because he realises not everyone is gay even though mike is so bi are you having a giggle?
  • will gets As in every class and even though he doesn’t have to, he still makes sure he studies a good amount, espesh with the other boys in mike’s basement like a wee study group
  • his mum is so so so proud of will and the grades he gets but still gets on to him about studying because she wants him to have as many opportunities as possible because, even though he loves art, he doesn’t know what he definitely wants to do when he leaves school

if you disagree let me know! i’d love to hear what you think! and i hope this meets expectations haha

send me more suggestions here :)

HEADCANONS about Guys Talk About Their Girlfriend Time™

AMAZING, OKAY.

  • So, any time the Boys™ are together, somehow they end up talking about their girlfriends/fiancees/wives. Because… Duh.
    • “You know what this makes me think of? Cinder.” “Kai, why?” “Everything reminds me of her, I literally love her so much.” “Okay, relatable.”
    • Once one of the boys mentions their significant other, all hell breaks loose. Because let’s be real, they are consistently thinking about the girls.
    • But all the boys also love the girls that aren’t their girlfriends too, so they want to hear about them. It’s fun for the whole family.
  • Usually it starts with one of them saying “Oh, the funniest thing happened when I was with _______ the other day,” and it just continues from there.
    • OR, one of them asks how one of the other’s girlfriends were and they’re just like “okay, I’ve been waiting to talk about them but I didn’t know when I would get to, so this is going to take a while.”
  • There is not a single one of them who talks more or less than the others about their girlfriends.
    • They are each equally in love with their girlfriends, like even Jacin can talk about Winter for hours even if he doesn’t really like to share that much about his personal life.
    • At first, Jacin didn’t really join in that much when they had Talk About Our Girlfriend Time™ but he literally just couldn’t help himself. He loves Winter way too much.
  • They also all want to know about the others, so sometimes they get each other started.
    • Thorne always asks about Cinder, even if he probably calls her more than Kai does. (Besties).
    • Jacin always asks about Cress, his daughter, and about Scarlet, who he just really likes.
    • Everyone wants to know how Winter is, just because a lot of them don’t really know her as well as the others.
  • Basically, the guys just want more than anything to talk about their girlfriends and none of them mind.

anonymous asked:

Why did Cat hate Jon so much? He never did her or any of her children any wrong, he loved his Robb and the others. He was always mindful of his place as the bastard of winterfell and was a dutiful son to Ned. What was so hard for her to love a mother-less child? Or even distrust the idea of Robb legitimizing him, Jon was no Blackfyre and I doubt any of his seed would dare rise up like the Greystarks did.

Thanks for the question, Anon.

I don’t think it’s fair to say Catelyn hated Jon so much; in fact, GRRM has specifically spoken against this point:

Thus, the question I have is if Catelyn went out of her way to mistreat Jon in the past – and which form this might have taken – or if she rather tried to avoid and ignore him?

“Mistreatment” is a loaded word. Did Catelyn beat Jon bloody? No. Did she distance herself from him? Yes. Did she verbally abuse and attack him? No. (The instance in Bran’s bedroom was obviously a very special case). But I am sure she was very protective of the rights of her own children, and in that sense always drew the line sharply between bastard and trueborn where issues like seating on the high table for the king’s visit were at issue.

And Jon surely knew that she would have preferred to have him elsewhere.

Catelyn certainly disliked the situation Ned had put her into. She was no ingénue; she knew men can and do father children outside of their marriages, and like any well-bred Westerosi woman she was prepared to accept this fate in her own marriage.  However, there is a specific unspoken agreement in this matter: women will turn a blind eye to their husbands’ affairs if the resulting children are kept out of sight themselves.

Ned broke the code. Ned not only brought Jon to Winterfell, he insisted Jon be raised as his own son. He went to lessons with the same maester, trained in the yard side-by-side with Robb, and was openly acknowledged as Ned’s son (not that his appearance could persuade otherwise).

Catelyn was hurt. She might have overlooked a dozen bastards, as she said, for Ned, if they had been out of sight, but Jon’s constant presence was a daily reminder that her husband had been unfaithful to her. She would give Ned three trueborn sons, yet none so closely resembled his father as Jon did. Jon would always be Ned’s alone, a Stark in all but name, a rival to her own children for the affections of her husband. It did not matter how personally good-hearted and dutiful Jon was at home. What he represented was all the faults and wickedness Catelyn would have grown up believing about bastards, reinforced by the Faith of the Seven and the attitudes of the highborn around her: that bastards were “born of lust and weakness”, “thieves or worse”, and “treacherous by nature”.

Westerosi society demonizes bastards for a good (that is, practical) political reason. When inheritance is based on blood descent, a bastard presents a dangerous alternative line for the succession to a seat. There are enough examples in Westerosi history of ambitious bastards rising high, none more infamously than the Blackfyres. Catelyn warned Robb of that very lesson:

“Precedent,” she said bitterly. “Yes, Aegon the Fourth legitimized all his bastards on his deathbed. And how much pain, grief, war, and murder grew from that? I know you trust Jon. But can you trust his sons? Or their sons? The Blackfyre pretenders troubled the Targaryens for five generations, until Barristan the Bold slew the last of them on the Stepstones. If you make Jon legitimate, there is no way to turn him bastard again. Should he wed and breed, any sons you may have by Jeyne will never be safe.” (“Catelyn V”, A Storm of Swords

Jon might not be a Blackfyre-like bastard, but how could Catelyn - or anyone - guarantee that Jon’s sons, grandsons, or other descendants wouldn’t lose that dutifulness and loyalty to the trueborn line of Winterfell? As long as Jon remained alive, and her entreaties against sending him away fell on deaf ears, there was always the possibility that Ned would ask his bestie Robert to legitimize his beloved son. Robb’s actively legitimizing Jon was no less than shocking to her. A bastard line would always have that natural aptitude to treachery, as far as she was concerned.

The most she could do, then, was make sure Jon knew that he was no true Stark - like, for example, seating him outside during the royal feast at Winterfell. Catelyn loved her trueborn children, but she could never bring herself to love the child who represented her husband’s failure and a dangerous threat to the trueborn line. She was not trained to love a bastard of her husband’s, and for Westerosi culture, she did nothing particularly cruel to Jon.

What do you think about Catelyn being a dick towards Jon? If anything, she should've hated the man she believed had did the deed more; there's nothing wrong with being born

Thanks for the question,  mmukarramm.

I actually answered this question before, but - well, I think it’s very unfair to say Catelyn was “a dick” toward Jon. It’s a modernist interpretation of Catelyn’s conduct without consideration as to their context.

First, let’s look at what GRRM said about the matter:

Catelyn certainly disliked the situation Ned had put her into, because Ned broke the code. If a Westerosi man fathers a child outside his marriage, he’s expected to keep the affair discreet and the child hidden away; in turn, women are expected to turn a blind eye to it. Yet Ned not only brought baby Jon to Winterfell, he insisted Jon be raised as his own son, demonstrating for all the world that he had broken his marriage vows (indeed, that his wife meant so little that he could insult her by parading his bastard in front of her). Jon went to lessons with the same maester, trained in the yard side-by-side with Robb, and was openly acknowledged as Ned’s son (not that his appearance could persuade otherwise).

Catelyn was hurt, understandably hurt. She might have overlooked a dozen bastards, as she said, for Ned, if they had been out of sight, but Jon’s constant presence was a daily reminder that her husband had been unfaithful to her. None of her trueborn sons so closely resembled his father as Jon did, which only served to underline the hurt; this boy was more Ned’s son than Robb or Bran or Rickon, and Ned was treating him as such. Robb and Bran and Rickon had the Tully features which spoke to their illustrious lineage (and, combined with their Stark name, their grandfathers’ political ambitions), but Jon would always be Ned’s alone, a Stark in all but name, a rival to her own children for the affections of her husband.

(cont) teasing him, he plays his part as the mischeavous dongseng cause it's part of bigbang's stablished dynamics, but he needs to be treated as an equal without teasing and ridiculing him. Sometimes the hyungs go too far, really. Specially GD, yes he sincerely loves him, but his mouth i think is way worse than RI's, like the time he talked about ri watching porn. Bae has a few of his own too. Only backhanded compliments, if any. Ri NEVER talks badly about any of them. Sorry i kinda got lost..

Let’s see, Seungri’s the maknae. It’s really hard to treat him like an equal when the age difference can go up to four and five years (Even one month difference is crucial to define a relationship in Korea). And they still consider him a kid. I mean have you heard the number of time GD and TOP call him ‘Cute’ and ‘Kid’? He will always hold the youngest image within them even in 20 years. They do aknowledge his improvements but they can’t change the way they see him.

As for the teasing, it’s their way to show love. Like really, Seungri used to enjoy that in the past. He was the closest with GD because he teased him a lot. When TOP wanted to get close with Seungri, GD adviced him to tease him and Seungri liked it. Taeyang really wanted to get close to Seungri but didn’t know how. He admitted that he tried hard and at the end of the day, only teasing got him into Seungri’s heart. Daesung used to be really awkward with Seungri because he doesn’t really tease him like the others.

  • GD has a complex personality, he cares about Seungri a lot even if he shows it the wrong way. He tels him to shut up in a harsh way but then he always monitors him and gives him professional advice. He always look after him even from afar. He does compliment him when he does a good job (like in his solo concert) and GD doesn’t give compliments easily.
  • Taeyang is a very silent and calm person but he lets it all out  when with Seungri. He loves teasing him because that makes him feel close to him. Sometimes, I feel really bad for Bae because he wants to be Seungri’s favourite hyung but GD’s always before him. Seungri’s practically the only person who unleashes Taeyang playful childish side. Bae’s always comfortable around him even if he dislike some of his loud personality. Seungri himself admitted that Taeyang’s his favourite hyung when it comes to helping him in music. He always gives him albums telling him it would help him in his own music. And Bae complimented Seungri a lot about ‘If You’. He told him that his voice played a major part in the whole song and both GD and Daesung agreed.
  • TOP, As everyone knows is socially awkward but Seungri always tries to include him in. He likes bickering with him but even then, he really loves Seungri. Did you know that he gave him acting advices When Seungri was shooting the ‘Angel Eyes’ drama? TOP doesn’t do that for everyone.
  • Daesung. Well, as I said because of his personality clash with Seungri’s. They used to be really awkward but they learnt to get along well. Especially that period when they lived in Japan together. They became like besties or something. Seungri always uploaded his pictures with Dae and he invited him to his show in Japan. Daesung later said that he’s proud of his dongseang because he’s grown and he doesn’t have to worry about him. He also celebrated Seungri’s album with him.

True, they may go far but he also reveals their secrets non-stop.  Yes, he always compliments them but he’s the maknae after all and let’s not forget that his personaluty is way more open than them. For him, complimenting them is natural but they could have problems with it.

At the end, it’s a fact that they all love him and care about him. You can clearly hear them laughing proudly when he said they’re his ‘everything’ and how they were disappointed because he wouldn’t wait with them in the waiting room. He’s their beloved maknae after all.

Can we just have an AU where all the Hobbit characters are little kids at pre-school or elementary school together?

Bilbo: He’s always yelling at the kids who play in the dirt outside, utterly mortified of their filthiness. He is a mother hen no doubt, always saying “Shouldn’t you be wearing a scarf? Its cold out!” or “Shouldn’t you have more for lunch? Here, take some of mine and your tummy will be full!”. He’s teacher’s pet, has a fondness for flowers, and snack and lunch time his his favorite times of the day. And yes, he’s that kid who literally brings a meal to school, napkins and cutlery included.  Its no wonder he has such a cute little belly!  He also never fails to bring everyone valentine’s and little gifts for the holidays.

Thorin: Basically the social justice warrior of pre-school who calls the mean kids out on their shizz, especially Thranduil, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get himself into trouble by doing so. He loves playtime (dodgeball the most so he can beam Thranduil in the head) and he’s very competitive when it comes to playing games, but he’ll always look out for his besties and only shares his cool toys and his snacks with them. He always belts out the loudest when the class is singing songs, even if he doesn’t sound too great.

Thranduil: This guy is the little tyke that always shows up dressed like he’s going to model for Vogue Junior. He’s the obvious rich kid of the class and he likes to do things his way; he doesn’t quite get the idea of sharing and instead he bargains. “Sure, you can have my animal crackers, in exchange of something of yours…that teddy bear pencil topper is cute, I’ll take it.” He’s quite snobbish to everyone including the teacher, except for people he decides he really likes (like that curly haired kid Bard). When it comes to getting in trouble, he and Thorin are time-out buddies, but not without Thranduil throwing a complete fit about it.

Bard: The quietest and sweetest in the class always wearing clothes that are a little too big for him. Bard never makes trouble, always sitting quietly during lessons and doing his absolute best all the time, even if he struggles a bit with certain subjects. He loves to play and isn’t bothered by getting down in the dirt, which often leads to Bilbo offering him wipes to clean himself with, but his favorite part of the day is reading time. He is fascinated by stories about magic and fantasy and he has a special liking for dragons which often appear in his scribbly drawings. He isn’t really sure why the blonde boy Thranduil is always hugging him and chasing him around, but he’s too nice to complain so he just stands there and lets him Thranduil on him all the time.

Azog: The ultimate bully who has a thing for breaking crayons, ripping drawings, stealing food and toys, and starting fights. He is extremely loud and growls whenever he’s mad, which scares most of the kids, but if there is one thing Thorin and Thranduil will agree on, its that they won’t tolerate Azog acting like a big jerk. There’s always that one kid, right?

Beorn: The weird kid who pretends he’s a bear and adores building tall structures with legos and blocks just so he can knock them down. He’s the biggest kid in the class, more than average in height for his age and towering over the others. He’s sort of everybody’s big brother.

Balin: The smartest kid in class, Balin never misses a day of school and gets As on every assignment. He’s often stomping around after Thorin and trying to keep him out of trouble, but he never has much luck doing so.

Dwalin: Thorin’s partner in crime with a little more brute. Dwalin is the kid that will literally dive to catch a baseball and has a very special victory dance he likes to do whenever he does well in a game. If you say anything bad about Dwalin’s friends, you can bet you’ll hear about it, but luckily Dwalin isn’t so quick to fist throwing as Thorin when he’s angry.

Bofur: This kid literally never stops talking and can talk a mile per minute. He is definitely the class clown, always serenading his peers on top of the desks and showing off his dancing and singing skills during show and tell. He’ll sometimes show up in school with ponytails all over his head; a very free spirit.

Bifur: The opposite of Bofur, Bifur hardly ever says anything and when he does he can barely be understood. He’s turly simple at heart, sticking with his buddies and having Thorin wallop anyone who laughs at him when he talks.

Bombur: The rolliest-polliest kid to ever come to the school who can hardly fit in his chair and perhaps love snack and lunch more than Bilbo. He wears overalls often, since they’re the easiest thing for him to wear besides sweatpants.

Dori: Dori comes to school with a survival kit in his backpack, always prepared for the worst. “I know there’s a nurse, but what if something happens to her? I need this first aid kit.” Most of his time is spent watching after his brothers and nitpicking them about things they shouldn’t be doing, whether it was something they did five minutes ago or two days ago at home.

Nori: Sly, a quick thinker, and witty, Nori chimes in at the oddest of times with sharp remarks that no one ever suspects. He’s been known to pocket some belongings of other students like stickers and markers, but he doesn’t always get away with it with Dori nagging at him and making him return them. Even though Dori annoys him and he tries to ignore him at school, there are days where Nori really shows how much he loves his brothers.

Ori: He’s obsessed with writing and drawing and his penmanship and art are actually quite good. Though Ori is generally shy and soft spoken, he never minds showing off his work that his brothers always praise him on.

Oin: Born with a hearing impairment, Oin has never let it hinder him. He has a vastly inventive mind and is the most likely to become a booming business man out of the whole class. His drive shows and he is exceptionally good at math. Why? He says so he can keep track of his “funds” (aka the change jingling in his piggybank, which has been shown in show and tell more than once).

Gloin: Very opinionated and bold, Gloin likes to speak his mind and isn’t shy about telling the truth (or what he perceives to be the truth, anyway). His outspokeness helps him out with the little ladies of the other classes quite a bit, and he even has a steady girlfriend which he boasts about often.

Smeagol/Gollum: That shy kid that eats his boogers, talks to himself and is super smelly. No one really talks to him but Bilbo and Bard which makes him very appreciatively timid.

Gandalf: The teacher who literally doesn’t give a crap and just laughs at the kids’ antics.

And even though I’m pretending they’d all be in the same age group, it just doesn’t make sense for Fili and Kili to be there so I left them out. xD
