So, I’m laying in bed, just kinda thinking, and I’m curious; what is cuddling really like? Like, can it be awkward or uncomfortable, or is it as good as people make it out to be? Maybe it gets hot too fast or you can’t stand staying in the same position for so long? Is it completely overhyped? I just really wanna know
omg I haven’t posted in a month or so ?? but it’s been a crazy month – took my prelims, got my results, and a whole lot of shows 😛 and our June holidays have started – meaning 4 weeks off from school! although I’ll be going back to school for extra lessons 2 out of the 4 weeks, it’s nice to have a little break :-)
“None of this would have happened if you hadn’t…kissed the joker”
“You know,” Nightwing says, glancing in the Batmobile’s rearview mirror as he overtakes a bus to the tune of renewed gunfire from behind them. “None of this would have happened if you hadn’t kissed the Joker.”
“How was I supposed to know he’d send all his goons after me?” Ed retorts. It may not have been his best thought out plan but that didn’t mean it was a completely bad plan. Although it could have quickly gone that way and ended with him riddled (he he) with bullet holes if Nightwing and Red Robin hadn’t come crashing through the warehouse’s windows to save the day.
“Why did you do it anyway?” Red Robin asks from the passenger seat. He’s manipulating some kind of holographic map that Ed really hopes is going to get them off the streets and into some hideout where men with machine guns won’t be able to find them. Maybe even the Batcave! That would be fun. All the other rogues would be so jealous!
“I can be cracked, I can be made. I can be told, I can be played. What am I?”
Nightwing and Red Robin exchange glances as they speed through an intersection. Their exasperation is almost tangible in the air. “It was a joke?” Red asks incredulously, turning in his seat to gape at the rogue behind him. “Isn’t that Joker’s gimmick?”
Ed sniffs, crosses his arms and raises his chin as he glares at the young vigilante. “You know, some of us don’t like to be pigeon-holed into the villainous M.O.s we made our debut with. Some of us have multifaceted and complex personalities, you know. We’re not all just batshit crazy.”
Like some people clowns.
“…right.” Red turns back around to tell Nightwing to take a left at the next intersection. Car horns blare as they skid through traffic, uncaring of the red light. Their entourage of trigger-happy henchmen follow.
“So what did he do to you?” Nightwing asks, sounding genuinely curious. “I mean, breaking out to stage a fake date seems pretty… extreme.”
“The poor have it, the rich need it, and if you eat it, you’ll die.”
Nightwing curses under his breath as something explodes a little too close for comfort. Red Robin directs him to a shortcut down an alley the Batmobile really shouldn’t fit through but somehow does then spins around to glare at Ed again. “Nothing?!” he exclaims. “You kissed the Joker as part of some stupid prank and he didn’t even piss you off?”

Because I’m still sore, and I go back to work tomorrow after 5 weeks off from surgery, and I really don’t want to, but being stuck - isolated - in this apartment is freaking me out to no end that I’m crying nearly every night, I need a pick-me-up…or a drop to my knees. Whichever.

Summary: All Mahiru wanted was to make an infamous delinquent stop skipping class. Getting dragged headfirst into a gang war and making a bunch of very weird friends was never part of the plan.
Chapter Summary: "Was this a step forward or a step back…?“
So the other day I was talking with one of my physicist friends who is atheist but nevertheless has always been interested in my faith.
We were talking for awhile about my experience in the church and what it means to have a relationship with Jesus, when she asked me, “So what does God mean to you?”
Now, I had to pause for a second, because I didn’t have a nice soundbite-y answer to the question. (Although maybe in the future this would be good to have.) God means so much to me that it wasn’t easy to distill down to a single, succinct answer on the spot.
But then, before I could answer, my friend realized that her initial question was really broad and asked a second question: “Why do you believe that it was God who created the universe?”
These two questions struck me because together they illuminate so much about how other people perceive our faith. I have always, first and foremost, seen my faith as about my relationship with Jesus, as a savior and a guide and a friend.
But my atheist friend immediately jumped to the conclusion that my faith was primarily about trying to explain the universe. She has always wondered why I would so strongly believe in God, when (in my own admission) “in the beginning there was God” is not really any more compelling than “in the beginning there was Schrodinger’s equation.”
I am the first to admit this. I don’t believe in God just to explain the origin of the universe; I believe in God because of how They have worked directly in my life and the lives of those around me. I believe in God because I know the power of a personal relationship with Jesus.
Almost all Christians I have talked to feel the same way about their faith. Yet so many nonreligious people I have talked to are convinced that Christians (and other people of faith) only believe in God to “explain science.”
If we want to bring more people into the light of Christ, this is a myth we absolutely need to dispel. Ken Ham isn’t helping with this. Instead, we need actual scientist Christians to step forward and talk about what our faith really means to us. The scientific method isn’t what points us to God – it’s the cross of Jesus.
If we’re being honest, one character is always the most fun to develop when you’re writing a new story. It must be the main character, right? The person you’re going to follow throughout the story, the one that means the most to you?
Nope. It’s the villain.
Villains are just FUN. You get to creep into the darkest corners of your writer brain and conjure up the most unashamedly detestable human being you possibly can.
This is how we look when we begin creating a villain.
But sometimes, it can be difficult to to make sure they’re fully believable humans. So here are the nine elements that have helped me out when developing these terrible people …
1) Hero’s Shadow:
The relationship between the main character and the villain is the most important one in the story, because it is the source of all conflict. Without the villain causing trouble, the main character wouldn’t have the chance to be a hero. Without that trouble, the main character’s weaknesses wouldn’t be pressured, which means they couldn’t change. The villain is a condensed and magnified embodiment of the inner weakness that the hero is battling. They’re the SHADOW of hero, the example of what will happen if the main character goes down the wrong path. Both are facing the same problem in different ways. For example Darth Vader and Luke.
2) Conflict Strategy:
In the pursuit of stopping the hero from achieving their goal, the villain is going to attack them on 1) a personal relationship level 2) a societal level and 3) an inner level. They’re going to attack the people around them, they’re going to cause consequences for the community surrounding them, they’re going to get into their head and plague them. Because the hallmark of a villain is that they’re the person who’s perfectly suited to attack the hero’s greatest weakness. Villains should have a distinct set of tactics to destroy the main character, on at least two levels.
This one’s expected. Of course a villain has flaws, it’s in the job description. But flaws do not equate to ‘He kicks turtles every morning before breakfast’ or 'His favorite hobby is butterfly stomping’ or, more within the realm of possibility, “He wants to kill the hero”. These are evil actions, NOT flaws. A lot of villains, particularly in movies, will be given horrible things to do without any explanation for WHY they do them. And it’s pretty easy to give them reasons: just give them human weaknesses! That’s it. Whether the actions they take are as small as theft or as big as blowing up a planet, these actions stem from recognizable HUMAN FLAWS. So like a main character, a villain needs mental and moral flaws.
Yup, even Maleficent has human flaws. And she’s a dragon part of the time.
4) Counter Goal:
All characters exist because they want something. And what do villains want? To get whatever the main character wants (for very different reasons), to stop them from reaching their goal, or another goal that directly conflicts with the hero’s goal. As long as that big tangible thing they want locks hero and villain in battle, you’re good. Think 101 Dalmatians: Cruella and the good guys are fighting over the puppies.
5) Surface Motivations:
Why is it that villains always have a team of followers? Because villains never outright state their true motivations. They always have a cover story, and that cover will paint them as righteous. Villains want to look like the good guy. So their real Hidden Motivations are defended by twisting perceptions of Good & Evil, by portraying evil acts in a positive light, by indulging their followers selfish emotions and desire to feel like “one of the good guys. "
Take Gothel for example: she’s a loving mother who wants to protect her daughter from all the world’s darkness. (Sure you do, Flynn stabber.)
Surface Motivations never stand up to logical scrutiny and a functioning moral compass, but giving your bad guy a compelling argument against your good side always makes things more interesting, which brings us to …
6) Counter Statement:
The main character needs to learn some kind of truth that will enable them to fix their lives, overcome their weaknesses, banish their ghosts. It’s whatever statement about "how to live a better life” you want to prove with your story. Your villain has other ideas. They don’t agree with that statement, have other beliefs about living life well, and represent an argument against it. For example, Voldemort: “there is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it."
Although your argument isn’t very convincing, Voldy. I mean, you’re living in the back of some guy’s head.
This is everything on the surface of the villain. The way they speak, the way they look, the way they act, their role in life, their status and power. This is the facade they project for the world to see, a calculated effort to control how they are perceived. This is closely connected to that surface want, because that surface is what they wish people to believe about them. Over time, the reader and the other characters are going to be able to see through this mask and see what it conceals. My favorite Disney example of this is Mother Gothel: on the surface she’s this bubbly mom who loves Rapunzel and wants to protect her from the harshness of the world.
You can think of this as the text …
8) Hidden Motivation:
And this is the subtext. That surface motivation they want the world to believe is a mask concealing their true motivation, which is always rooted in their flaws, selfishness, and skewed beliefs.
9) Ghosts, Justification, Self-Obsession:
These three are closely related, so they get counted together. Like main characters, villains have GHOSTS: events from their backstories that knocked their worldviews out of alignment, that marked the beginning of their weaknesses, that haunt them still. Because these happened, the originally benign person allowed themselves to turn into someone who could occupy the job of "villain” in a story. Usually, these events are genuine misfortunes and are worthy of sympathy, just like the ghosts of a main character. Think of Voldemort growing up in an orphanage talking to snakes.
BUT! When it comes to ghosts, the major difference between a hero and a villain is HOW THEY DEAL with these unpleasant past events. Both have suffered, but react to suffering in very different ways. A villain will be consumed by these events, obsessed with the real (or imagined) persecution or disadvantage they’ve endured, convinced that all personal responsibility is nullified by their status of injured party. Past tragedies become a talisman that grants immunity from decency.
This scene from A Series of Unfortunate Events sums it up. An adult makes an excuse for a terrible person by saying he had a terrible childhood. And Klaus replies:
Yes, maybe they’ve both lived through tragedy. But THE KIDS aren’t hurting others because of it.
Because villains, who are constantly victimizing heroes, are completely convinced that THEY are the true victims here. No matter what they do, no matter what they are, they blame everything on that ghost, whether it was another person, society, or circumstances. And later they blame the hero, who they see as the REAL villain. For example, Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame:
“It’s not my fault, I’m not to blame”
So! WHY are villains like this?
SELF-OBSESSION! Yup, villains spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about themselves and their plights and their plots. Think of any villain and it’s not hard to see the inherent narcissism behind everything they do. Like willingness to take action is the nonnegotiable trait of a main character, self-obsession is the trait that all villains seem to share.
So! Developing villains in this way has worked out for me so far. If it looks like it might be helpful for you, give it a try.
And in the spirit of creating someone to torment our main characters and ruin their lives, here’s one more maniacal laugh for the road:
Please remember that just because someone is playing a villainous character doesn’t mean that they don’t love their character, or don’t have a version of it that is perhaps new to you. Respect the muns of villains as much as you would respect any other mun, and remember to work with them.
It is very hard to play a villainous character in a world full of heroes and cinnamon rolls, and the muns who pick them up and are willing to give them a try deserve some extra support and love, because they’re going to need it. Love the villain muns, respect their autonomy as players, and don’t try to force their character to submit to your plot desires just because you’re playing a hero. Heroes might not always win, and heroes are not always more interesting, not always better characters – they’re just typically more popular because most of us want to be good, and it’s a lot easier to self-insert with a morally good character for many people.
Respect your villains. If they’re canon characters, don’t assume that they’re all the same as every other one you’ve seen. If they’re original, respect that their mun is giving you a neat new antagonist to deal with.
Conflict is necessary, and villain muns deserve to enjoy their RP experience, too!
Girls with thick eyebrows are beautiful, and I don’t just mean Instagram make up artist thick (although, nice). I mean girls with bushy messy eyebrows, I mean girls with eyebrows that aren’t plucked/waxed/threaded, I mean girls with unibrows, I mean girls with uneven eyebrows, damn u all cute as hell
1. Learn to recognize when you are feeling stressed – This will help you to reduce your stress before it is expressed as destructive anger.
2. Work on developing your empathy – Trying to see things from another’s perspective often helps to dissipate intense emotions.
3. Decide to respond instead of react – Although the way we react often feels automatic, we can actually choose how we’ll think, feel and respond. This is empowering, and the road to freedom.
4. Change your self talk - Listen to the conversation in your head and learn to modify extreme, unbalanced thoughts. Look for exceptions to “you always” thinking, and reframe “you must” or “you should” demands.
5. Learn to be assertive – Honest and open communication about your wishes, needs and preferences can stop resentment building – so it doesn’t turn to anger.
6. Adjust your expectations – Often anger is triggered by a difference between our expectations and what we actually get. Thus, sometimes it is better to adjust our expectations so they’re more in line with reality.
7. Forgiving doesn’t also mean forgetting – Although it is healthy to sometimes let things go, that doesn’t mean we weren’t hurt, upset or offended. The difference is we’re choosing to move on with our lives, and we’re not being controlled by external events.
8. Remove yourself from the situation – Retreating temporarily or “taking time-out” provides some space to think about the “best thing to do”. Thus you maintain control of yourself and circumstances.
After dinner and with what Taehyung said, you were heartbroken. You believed his words, although you knew he would sometimes say things he didn’t mean when he was upset. But you knew inside that this time was different. He wasn’t going to ask for forgiveness this time around.
Did he even consider you his friend this entire time? Did any of them consider you a friend? Or were they really only nice because you had information about them. You loved each of them dearly, always wanting the best of them. Ever since they moved in next door, your life had changed for the better. You had always had a special place in your heart for Taehyung too. The way he made you feel when you were with him was indescribable.
But it seems that all of it was a lie.
“If he wants me out of his life, then that’s what I’ll give him” you say silently to yourself.
The award show season came and went by in a flash. And for some reason, Tae was itching to text you to tell you all about it. About how happy he was for winning awards. About how he wished you were there to celebrate with them.
But he dismissed any of those feelings and replaced them with his anger. He saw the other boys call and tell you the good news, but he kept his distance, not wanting to ruin their fun.
A few weeks prior, the group’s manager came up to Taehyung regarding an article that a reporter was going to publish. Within the article was a detailed description of all the places Taehyung frequented in secret as to avoid the eyes of the public. In this article was a detailed description of all the small things that not many people knew about.
Tae was of surprised. Where had this reporter gotten all this information? His manager had said that he had gotten this information from you when he found out that you both were neighbors. He said that you had received a sum of money for the information. Thankfully his manager had “stopped the article from being published” but he scolded Taehyung for being close with just some girl.
And with that, Taehyung was fuming. He swore never to tell you anything ever again and to have you out of his life. But a voice inside him told him otherwise and he couldn’t push you out completely. He still couldn’t. And he still didn’t tell the other guys yet because he knew it would have only distracted them.

Here are my notes from the reveal stream, with some concluding thoughts at the end. All of this information is available from the Bungie reveal stream, and is not speculation unless marked as such:
In the beginning of Destiny 2, the Last City has fallen. Dominus Ghaul, leader of the Cabal Red Legion, has laid waste to the Tower and to the City itself, and his legions have torn our home apart.
The reveal trailer shows us fighting through the tower in the first campaign mission, called “Homecoming,” in which we battle alongside the Vanguard until Amanda Holliday deposits us atop some kind of Cabal ship, where we attempt to face down the bad guy.
Unfortunately, we fail, and Dominus Ghaul succeeds in deploying some sort of device that places the Traveler in a cage, instantly draining the Guardians of Light, and causing us to lose our powers. We cannot go back to the Tower.
In response, the Vanguard scatters. Ikora has fled to Io out of anger, Zavala is on Titan healing and having an existential crisis - “Are we Guardians even without the Light?”, and Cayde-6, in attempting to play the hero, has gotten himself into trouble on Nessus. Apparently, the Speaker has disappeared. More on these new worlds below.
In the campaign, we will have to track down and collect the Vanguard, as well as fight the new Red Legion enemy, led by Dominus Ghaul. Dominus Ghaul believes that he, based on his past experiences (which were not elaborated upon), is most worthy of the Traveler’s blessing, and does not understand why Humanity was chosen. He has come to Earth to prove his worthiness, and sees humanity as being in his way. He is not a “psychopath” bent on genocide. Luke Smith described him as “Having his stuff together,” and “Like Alan Rickman in Die Hard.”
Destiny 2 is a game about loss, and transitions into an experience about recovery and reclaiming what is ours.
Shown classes remain the same: Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. Nova Bombs, Defender Bubbles, and Golden Guns were shown but not remarked upon. However, new Super abilities were showcased:
Titan Sentinel: A Titan with a voidlight shield that can be used to block damage, thrown at enemies, or used in melee combat. There also appeared to be some new kind of Striker Titan Dash and a different sort of ‘Ice Wall,’ neither of which were discussed.
Hunter Arcstrider: A Hunter with a staff of arclight that focuses on acrobatic melee combat.
Warlock Dawnblade: A Warlock with a sword made of solar light that can be used in melee combat or to fling ranged attacks. Warlocks also appeared to be able to place some sort of buff zone beneath them, one of which “empowered” the player.
These look pretty awesome.
Weapon loadouts have been revamped to give players more flexibility. Weapons are now divided into three categories:
A variety of new weapons were shown. In addition to hand cannons, sniper rifles, shotguns, pulse rifles, and shotguns, we saw:
A type of SMG
Minigun-like machine guns
A type of fast-firing rocket launcher
I assume we will learn more about this in the coming days. It appears that weapons such as hand cannons occupy the kinetic slot, but I would like to see more information about how these slots will work.
Destiny 2 features four playable worlds:
Earth: The European Dead Zone is now the location of Destiny’s largest playable area, and this is the zone where Humanity flees and attempts to rebuild after the Cabal attack. This camp was founded by Hawthorne, who features in the D2 Preorder, and who once left the City to live in the Wilds.
Titan: Titan, Saturn’s largest moon, is covered with a Methane ocean with 40 ft waves, and features a human utopia, a relic of the Golden Age, sinking into ocean. There is no landmass on Titan.
Io: A sulfuric moon of Jupiter, Io is the last place the Traveler touched before it appeared on Earth. Io is a sacred place to the Guardians, and to Warlocks in particular. In the trailer, there appear to be the remnants of some kind of civilization.
Nessus: A centaur, or type of icy minor planet. The Vex have transformed Nessus into a machine world, and it now features native vegetation, large canyons, and plateaus based on tepui, a type of South American highland plateau.
Destiny 2 has revamped the map system. Now, players will be able to use an area map to navigate and discover locations and events. These include:

*denotes a seemingly new feature
Destiny 2 will emphasize the sense of exploration that players experience. For example, players will be able to discover and unlock secret, hidden dungeons, which will contain both loot and bosses. There appear to be many, many secrets to discover.
Furthermore, there will be more interaction with NPC’s, resulting in numerous side-quests and further adventures.
Destiny 2 features a revamped map system that players will use to uncover and navigate the new areas. Waypoints, such as those corresponding to the activities listed above, will show up on this map. It will also show WHERE and WHEN public events will take place.
In addition, players will no longer have to ‘go to orbit’ to navigate to new locations. The world navigation system will now be usable from anywhere.
Co-operative play was heavily emphasized by all presenters. Bungie attempted to strike a balance between easy matchmaking and ensuring that all players are comfortable with the strangers they are matched with. The notable new features are:
Clans: Clans will no receive official, in-game support. These will offer rosters, tools for fireteam building, custom banners, and shared clan experience and progression. Achievements, whether done solo or in a group, will benefit your clan.
Guided Games: Guided games are a new way for solo players to find a fireteam without joining a clan and while being able to ensure they have a positive experience. Solo players will be able to see a brief summary of clan information, as well as the activity proposed, and will then be able to join the clan for that single activitiy without committing to the clan.
Guided games will open up your party to more players, in case one of your fireteam members must drop out of the activity.
The Crucible has been revamped for 4v4 combat across all game modes. There will also be a new attack/defend mode called “Countdown.” I assume we will learn more in the coming days.
In partnership with Blizzard, Destiny 2 for PC will be available exclusively through Blizzard’s Battle.Net.
“More cinematics than ever.”
There will be a new raid.
There will be new strikes. The strike played at the reveal is called “The Inverted Spire.” You will traverse Red Legion territory to a Vex Stronghold, where you will fight a 3-stage boss.
There will be more quests and story missions
There may (SPECULATION: ENTIRELY UNCONFIRMED) be new vehicles.
There will be “More to do than any game we’ve ever made at Bungie.”
Community, community, community. Destiny 2 was referred to several times by different people as “A world I want to be in, where I can always find people to play with if I want to.” Bungie appears to be focused on making all of D2′s content accessible to more players. This, to me, is a great thing.
Exploration: the words “Open World” were not used, and from the gameplay demo of “Homecoming,” that mission at least appeared quite linear. That’s not to say the rest of the game will be that way, and if the new map system is any indication, we can look forward to a lot more exploration.
I, personally, cannot wait to see the new worlds. It seems like Bungie has done a lot of work to make each location feel unique.
Gameplay-wise, it sounds as though Bungie has learned from D1, and is looking for ways to make D2 more engrossing and meaningful for all kinds of players. If the new strikes have harder, more involved boss fights, it sounds as though we can expect more than the bullet-sponge boss fights that dominated D1.
The revamped weapons system also sounds great, and I can’t wait to hear more about it.
I am unsure about the Crucible being reworked for 4v4. Reference was made to it being “For PvP Players,” although what that means remains to be seen.
