also i just wanted to say that the episode made me cry FOR THE SECOND TIME

AU where instead of going to Samwell, Jack starts a widely successful Publicly Broadcast show for children.

Jack learns that he is great with kids after coaching them for a little over two years. Moreover, kids are good with Jack. There is no pressure to be anything other than who he is.

It all starts with a local news program doing a fluff piece on Jack Zimmermann’s coaching ability. But then it turned into something completely different when Jack skated onto camera and started to introduce every single one of his kids and what was special about them. He was…really enchanting actually. He didn’t ever really talk down to them. Jack just treated them as a tiny friend.

They ARE his tiny friends, but that’s not the point.

The footage they got of “snack time” was really the best. Imagine a good 16 kids piled around this massive man teaching them the best way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

It should have been obvious that a local channel would contact him. It still surprises Jack. They want him to host a show? Why? Everyone always teased him about how impersonable he was during interviews. Is it because he’s Jack Zimmermann’s son? Or Alicia’s?

Jack asks all of these questions to his mother and she just laughs. “You made a PB&J interesting to 16 kids just by being you”

Jack figures it wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot.

Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Final Rate: S
Cry-o-meter: 4/5

+First of all, holy shit
+The protagonists are extremely likable, well-written, and complex.
+I’ve never been more invested in a cast of characters
+The villains are also likable, well-written, and complex. I can’t believe this show threw the most irredeemable ruthless killer at me and then made me cry over him.
+A well paced, slow-burn story that starts deceptively lighthearted and then gets dark and violent and genuinely upsetting
+Stellar character development. Everyone gets a turn to be the antihero and I fucking love it.
+Actions have actual consequences and the show isn’t afraid to kill off characters
+Intense and creative fight scenes
+The Phantom Troupe arc was dope as all hell
+Kurapika is the accumulation of all of my least favorite tropes but it’s played completely straight and he’s my favorite
+The art gradually increases in quality. It starts off kinda mediocre but by the end of the show it’s great
+It progresses almost like an RPG. The characters start off level one, with not a whole lot of skills or punch, and by the end they’re level 100 or so. The main characters don’t start off powerful (with maybe a small exception to Killua).
+The characters train? They actually train to get better? This is such a little thing but you can actually watch their progress.
+That *iconic* shot when Killua goes full-electric mode for the first time
+It’s not cheesy! it’s not! It seems like the show that would be really cheesy with a lot of angry screaming but it’s not!
+No filler! Everything is plot relevant!

-It’s been on hiatus for a while because the creator is dealing with back problems and people aren’t all that hopeful about it continuing
-I need more Kurapika! The last clip of him at the very end just left me wanting to see more of him. The next arc in the manga is actually focused on Kurapika and Leorio but it won’t be animated for a while…
-The Chimera Ant arc probably could have been cut down in length, and a lot of the character designs were goofy. It changed and became better, but still.
-The Alluka mini-arc didn’t really do it for me. She didn’t have any character depth, she came out of nowhere, and it didn’t make me feel those sweet sweet emotions the show usually provides
-Hisoka pops a boner for a 12 year old
-”sorry but you take second place to alluka lol” b i t ch after everything you’d been through together?
-Unfinished, for now.

Final Comments: Holy fuck I wasn’t expecting to like this show as much as I did. Easily joined my list of personal favorites. I honestly can’t even say anything but if you love that slow burn frog-in-a-frying-pan type of show then you’ll love it. The pacing is so good, I love everyone, honestly please give it a chance and don’t get turned off if the first few episodes aren’t your style.

voltron season one episodes reviewed by how gay they are

(written by a certified lesbian)

episode one: the rise of voltron

a classic. while having no outstandingly gay moments, it sets up the characters (who are all gay). also, hunk assumes that pidge has a girlfriend, and, even though pidge was presumed to be a boy at this point, she didn’t object to having a girlfriend. so that’s like, definitely a lesbian thing. 6/10 pidge is gay

episode two: some assembly required

again, while having no super gay moments, pidge’s girlfriend is mentioned for the second time. there was also the “i actually don’t hate you right now” line from lance to keith, plus the klunk hug. 8/10 very good klunk moment(s)

episode three: return of the gladiator

lance tried to impress keith specifically in the beginning by mentioning the kick he did. it may not have worked but it was a valiant effort! also voltron formed and there was a rainbow so….5/10 good try lance!

episode four: fall of the castle of lions

the iconic “i say vol, you say tron!” cheer, plus a good hance conversation about being homesick. also i’m gay and this is one of my favorite episodes so i’m adding extra points for that. 7/10 all around good episode

episode five: tears of the balmera

you know. you already KNOW. the bonding moment!!! the fucking bonding moment bitch!!! lance and keith held hands and lovingly gazed into each other’s eyes for way longer than they needed to, with the iconic “we did it. we are a good team” line preceding this. not to mention they were basked in purple lighting, the mix of red and blue! holy shit, dude. holy shit. 1000000/10 easily the gayest episode in the show

episode six: taking flight

keith says to lance, “we had a bonding moment. i cradled you in my arms!” so that was super gay lol. also pidge came out as a girl and hunk said he knew, meaning that all the times he teased pidge for having a girlfriend he was just assuming she was gay, so. ALSO that end scene where keith was like…very obviously flirting with lance? wow. 100/10 very gay would recommend

episode seven: return to the balmera

not to be that bitch and keep bringing up klance but like. i am that bitch lmao. the way keith looked at lance after he came up with that smart plan? well, there’s just no heterosexual explanation for it, is there! plus the two of them work so well together…they really are a good team, wow. 10/10 soft looks are great

episode eight: rebirth

okay so you know how i said this was written by a certified lesbian in the beginning? that’s really gonna shine through now. shay and allura are the epitome of wlw romance!!! like the first thing shay does when she sees allura is gasp and say “princess?” that’s gay babe! also shay was the first one to go to allura when she finished healing the balmera and held her in her arms (dare i say she cradled her?) for way longer than she needed to. so! gay. 100/10 my lesbian ass exploded

episode nine: crystal venom

the first thing that comes to mind when i think of this episode is “sad post op” so there’s that. but anyway coran would very pointedly not look at alfor’s ai, probably because he didn’t want to fool himself into thinking he was really alive (again, sad post op). but he still looked super torn when allura had to destroy his ai, and i’m…i’m sad. also there was that one klance moment which was nice. 9/10 i’m knocking a point because i’m fucking crying

episode ten: collection and extraction

while not particularly gay on its own allura shapeshifted which was super cool and also made me extra gay, so. plus there was some good klunk content! 5/10 could have done better but still pretty good

episode eleven: the black paladin

okay so this was the last episode of the season meaning it was action-centric, so obviously there’s not much to work with here. keith and lance had a direct parallel to kai and jinora from the legend of korra so that’s pretty eyes emoji! however voltron got split up which is homophobic because i’m gay and didn’t want it to happen. 5/10 very action-centered

1. The Will/Nomi/Jonas conversation at the start. Flows so well, Will and Nomi taking turns to speak is so well orchestrated. Also that “so you say” at the same time? Some beautiful spoken word shit right here.
2. Lito freaking out and screaming and jumping around the house is 10/10 good Lito content. Too little of Lito in the episode though.
3. Will is everybody’s dad and I love it. He’s not by far my favorite, but since S1 he has really grown on me.
4. Honestly, Max shouldn’t be allowed to be this beautiful all the time. Really, what the fuck.
5. Wolfgang’s escape scene. My baby is a murderous badass and I love him so much.
7. “You’ve multiplied” I love Bug so much
8. I love that they’re using all the different languages!
9. Sun shrugging at not killing her brother lol. She has the best faces.
10. Mun saving her picture from the coffee stains!
11. This FaceTime conversation is going into my “top100 scenes from tv that made me cry” folder. Perfect otp is perfect
12. Seriously. That scene is so pure it makes my heart swell
13. “I just remember three letters, BP…” “Oh, shit!” Honestly the dialogue timing is so on point
14. Jonas escaping while they aren’t looking at him is top notch comedy
15. Things That should have been in the finale: a big-visiting-Will/Sun/Wolfgang fight
16. Rajan is a good man, and really sweet, and if they had been given more time to elaborate on this poly thing I think I would have been ok with it, but I WANTED ENDGAME KALAGANG DAMMIT
17. Capheus dancing and painting the van is a whole mood
18. After RedxBlanca, AmanitaxDani are the power couple I needed and didn’t know I wanted
20. I wish they had the time to make River a more important character. She was obviously meant to have a major role in the story, since she officiates Nomanita’s wedding
21. Wolfgang giving the Chairman sass stresses me out just as much as it did in the trailer. Wtf dude he’s holding a gun to your head be quiet
22. Also, who the fuck is he? They did a good job still making him a credible villain that didn’t feel like he came out of nowhere (even if he did, let’s be real), but I need more! S3 would have done him so much better
23. I relate to Will’s exasperation as everyone else keeps getting distracted during the plan scene
24. Lila is a fucking bitch. 100% evil person
25. Berret-wearing Lito is the best, but I’m kinda disappointed we didn’t get one of this world famous dramatic scenes
26. Sun and Capheus in the van. Precious, as always
27. Sun croptop and yellow trackpants is my new aesthetic. What an outfit
28. Kala’s smokebombs are the closest things we got to one of her explosions and honestly I’m pissed. I love when my girl blows shit up
29. I also hate the Asian guy from Lila’s cluster
30. Really. Max’s eyes look so blue in the lights of the club I think I might cry. Too pretty
31. Wolfgang and Kala. So cute
33. They are the definition of that post “one is cinnamon roll and could kill you”
34. He puts his hands in his pocket and looks away all shy god he is too sweet
35. Wolfgang, the man that never talks and never asks for help… doing a whole speech and thanking them for helping him. I’m so emo
36. I’m sorry, but too much Rajan, not enough Lito
37. Mun leaning into Sun on the train asdfghjkl and her face after omg
38. 24.000 baci makes me laugh but I think that’s just Italian fans talking
39. Kalagang snuggled in the backseat of the car
40. The “I feel you” scene is the best music/cluster scene of the whole series fight me
41. Felix and Wolfgang are real brothers. Capheus too, of course
42. “So, who is human here?” Diego and Will are the definition of ride or die, best brotp
43. All the tourist outfits are so on point: Sun and Mun matching shirts? Great! Wolfie’s pink jacket? I want one too!
44. The least believable thing in this scene is that Neapolitan mafia dudes would barely speak Italian, let alone English
45. Wolfgang pulling his gun out of his hot pink backpack  proves he is actually Takeshi Kovacs’ ancestor and you cannot tell me otherwise
46. Rewatching the Kala scene is a little bit easier, but… man was that painful to watch the first time. I couldn’t breathe I was so scared
47. That is the weakest attempt at cpr I’ve ever seen in my life. You’re never gonna save her that way dudes!
48. Jonas is a weird character but Sayid Jarrah is the love of my life so, you know… my baby
49. They should have given us more Jonas and Will
51. Capheus’ mum is so beautiful
52. Also, I love Teagan she should have been a more important role (and her husband seems so nice???)
53. Sun smiling when she met Hela. Honestly, so many pure moments in this finale
54. Bug is the best you guys. Made me tear up
55. Will asking Kala about her men HE IS SUCH A DAD I LOVE IT
56. Kala is the definition of a human disaster, but she hides it so well sometimes I forget
57. I got to the final scene they’re all so in love is beautiful
58. Wolfgang patting on the bed is a callback to S1 and, again, I’m just a little heartbroken that it’s not just kalagang at the end
59. Kinda mad that the final line is rajan
60. The rainbow dildo is SO PERFECT

The Many Faces of Victor Nikiforov - Episode 7

Aaaaand it’s time for the episode you’ve all been waiting for! Episode 7 is here and with it we get a massive amount of Victor character development! This meta will probably have a large focus on that journey but there’s definitely more to be found here than just comments on his coaching. Let’s just dive right in!

When I first saw the scene from this first gif, I was struck by how… not “Victor” it felt. Not because it was out of character – in fact, it’s more like Victor than the alternative – but because the fact that he stays in and sleeps to the last possible moment to avoid being social went so clearly against his cultivated extroverted public image. Victor plays himself off as being a lot more social than he actually is when in reality he enjoys his downtime and own space more than he openly lets on.

With this second gif, we get Victor and his forcefully cheerful smile, attempting to get Yuuri to listen to him and trying to cut off the crash and burn that it looks like he’s heading towards. Victor spends most of the episode doing this, but initially his methods are all smiles, comfort, and friendly suggestions for ways that Yuuri can help himself (even when he’s trying to be more forceful about it, like here).

But then the suggestions don’t seem to be working so he gets to thinking. What can he do to help Yuuri? We actually find him wondering this more than once in the space of this series, even as far as episode 11. Here, however, it’s a very immediate question. Yuuri is obviously spiralling, and fast. But Victor himself isn’t familiar with anxiety from a first person perspective. Everything he tries all have roots in things that have worked with Yuuri before – but now to no avail.

This fourth gif has always stood out to me, not because of the shot itself but because of the words that overlay it. Chris is mentioning how he never thought that Victor would leave the ice and find someone to protect. He, who has known Victor for roughly 10 years, has no idea why Victor made the choice he did. I don’t feel that this means that Victor’s actions are out of character for him, but more along the line that not even those closest to him know his true struggles and desires (thought this is in large part because Victor himself wasn’t entirely of what those were either). If Chris thinks it’s out of character for Victor to want to leave the ice then it’s clear that he didn’t realize how much Victor’s career was strangling him.

I chose this fifth gif for a couple of reasons. The first: I love his costume (and the Johnny Weir reference is on point). Secondly, I find it interesting that he takes gold at Euros during his Senior debut, which means he was really good for being only 17, but didn’t start his winning streak until he was 22. What this says to me is that there used to be a time when Victor had actual competition, people that could stand up to him. He’s not been the lone winner at the top during his entire career, just the latter portion of it.

I find this sixth scene particularly interesting because we never hear Victor yell. He’ll exclaim things out of excitement, sure, but never shout. At this point, he’s desperate enough to try anything at all, even if it means yelling to try and get through to Yuuri (since nothing else has seemed to work so far). I really do feel that Victor has tries everything he can think of to get Yuuri out of his own head and it’s not anyone’s fault that it just isn’t working (not even Yuuri’s own). But Victor isn’t about to give up on him.

Which leads us to the scene where everything comes to a head. Victor tries one last ditch attempt – raising the stakes for Yuuri’s performance in an attempt to imitate the risks that existed for the Onsen on Ice – and it all comes toppling down. I do actually believe that it was good that this scene happened, not just for character development and them learning about themselves/each other, but because it also finally let Yuuri release the stress he’s been carrying all day by yelling and crying it out. It’s also particularly interesting that Victor is so out of his depth the moment that tears are involved. Everything else so far he’s taken in stride, even when things weren’t working. Now though, he realizes just how out of his league he is in terms of knowing how to help Yuuri, and the apologetic walk featured in this gif exemplifies it perfectly.

For this seventh gif, I simply love how confused he is. He certainly understood the meaning behind the motion – that Yuuri forgives him – but he’s bewildered at the way Yuuri chose to send that message. Victor really does love surprises, and I feel that even the small gestures like this are part of why Yuuri attracts him so much. He can’t predict what form things will take with him because everything seems to differ from the norm. And little does he know that he’s about to get an even bigger surprise.

I’m particularly fond of this second last gif, and even more so with the updated version. You can see how amazed he is painted clearly on his face (and this is before the quad Flip too!). I wonder what Victor’s expectations were for this performance considering how Yuuri has been all day – did Victor think Yuuri would flop? Somehow scrape his way back into a decent standing? Rise to the challenge and blow them all away? As it turns out, we get the last, and we can at least say that, with the faces Victor makes, this wasn’t what he had expected would happen.

In this last gif – the moment before Victor jumps Yuuri with the biggest surprise yet (both to us as well as them) – I love how simple his expression is. The expression here just looks like a mix of pride and adoration. That Victor looks at Yuuri with this much love is what really tips us off that something big and important is about to happen, even before the sound is cut and we get the Yuuri POV camera panning to the ceiling. Yuuri wondered if Victor was angry or crying but the answer was actually neither. He was certainly overwhelmed, but then he channeled all of that into returning the favour to Yuuri with something meant to match his own surprise – a kiss on international TV in return for a quad Flip.

There’s certainly a lot to unpack in this episode and I know for sure that even after all we went through, there’s still tons more. Regardless, I hope you enjoyed these small bite sized bits of meta! Victor’s journey through this episode is definitely one of my favourites – even if you ignore the amazing ending of it – simply because of how he tries everything he can think of to calm Yuuri down. That alone says a lot about him and his feelings for Yuuri.

Pretty Little Liars 7x20 Til Death Do Us Part - Thoughts

I literally just finished watching the finale and A-List Wrap party right now. I have not seen a single comment about the finale, I don’t know how it was received, at all. Sorry if these comments are just reinforcing what everyone else has been talking about for the past several hours, because again, I have no idea what everyone is saying. Here are my thoughts!

- It did not feel like a series finale to me and I cannot pinpoint why. I felt the goodbye scene at the end was not strong enough. Sasha said that they had to keep re-filming that scene because she was crying too much when she said “this feels like the end of something” - well, I think they went with the take that had not enough emotion, to the point it felt like a regular line and it lost its power. Not just this line, but in general, I never got a sense of “farewell PLL” from this episode, unfortunately. Not saying it’s a bad episode, but, I didn’t get that sense of “thank you and goodbye Spencer, Hanna, Aria, Emily, Alison and Rosewood”.

- Marlene said that there is one question she cannot wait for fans to find out, but she can’t tell us what this question is without telling us who AD is. What the hell could be this question?

- I’ve always said Pretty Little Liars is a two-part show: half a romance show, other half a mystery show. They really demonstrated that tonight, by having almost a very equal divide between the romance and mystery. The entire first hour was romance, and the entire second hour was mystery (plus farewells). The first hour, I was shaking my head. “This is not good. Not good at all.” Sure, there were some cute scenes, like Emison’s proposal, but there was too much fluff in the first half. The second half, it really kicked off.

- So, my theory ended up being so damn accurate, what the hell! I can’t believe it! Even though Spencer’s twin was my foremost suspect going into the finale, I still ended up being shocked, because of the simple fact that they went with it almost exactly exactly exactly how I said! Not just the who, but also the why! I even got the name Alex Drake!

- Okay, so I got the part wrong about the twin having helped Charlotte play the game from season 3 onwards. And honestly, that is my biggest complaint about the finale: AD started playing the game after Charlotte died, period. Again this is my biggest complaint and this is where the finale fell flat for me. Technically, PLL could have ended with Charlotte’s reveal in 610. Everything we got with Alex Drake’s story, was purely an extension because we got renewed for more seasons. I just know there will be people saying “ugh I’m so mad that AD has no connection to pre-time jump” and yes I fully agree, and that’s my biggest complaint too… but my response is: weren't the extra 2 years nice? Sure AD is irrelevant to seasons 1-6A, sure that is incredibly underwhelming and no where near as good as the fan theories… but we got an extra 2 years of PLL in our lives because of this extra, final A story? I’m grateful? #alwayslookingforthepositiveside

- I do not understand Ashley’s comment. Quote “you finally get to find out who A is, who’s been torturing us for the last 7 years”. Girl… it was just a month or two, in Rosewood time.

- Am I the only one who never really felt a sense of danger, or intensity? Weird, since it’s the series finale, and literally anyone could’ve died. It’s not like we had another season, and I knew Spencer was safe from dying. Yet, I never truly did feel like Alex would win the fight. I can’t take PLL villains seriously for some unexplainable reason.

- I really liked the flashbacks that explicitly showed us the scenes where “Spencer” was actually Alex. That was great. I wanted more flashbacks to earlier seasons, however. (I did appreciate that they played some music from the pilot, though!)

- THANK YOU MARLENE for not doing another Charlotte reveal where A sits around crying all episode, trying to make us feel sorry for them. Sure, Alex (nearly said Twincer!) had a sad story, but she embraced her sadness, and it fuelled her anger to take over Spencer’s life. That was really good. I loved seeing Troian walk around with an axe. Bless.

- I was surprised we didn’t hear of Radley (as a sanitarium). Honestly, thank god.

- I think the motive is the strongest we’ve ever had, of all the A’s so far: Alex was so jealous of Spencer so she wanted to break up the girls, yet her threats only made them closer. Therefore, she decided, “why break them up, if I can just become Spencer?” That is so evil and I love it.

- I EVEN CALLED IT that there will be a scene where someone holds a gun to Spencer and Twincer, and they have to prove who the real Spencer is. I LOVED that!

- I have a feeling that once I finish typing this, the first word I’ll be seeing people use to describe the motive is cliche. Especially the above mentioned scene about not knowing which Spencer to shoot. It is a bit cliche. (”I’m Buzz Lightyear!” … “no, I’m Buzz Lightyear!” Toy Story 2.. anyone? That’s where my mind went, lol) An evil, jealous twin is a tad cliche. I can’t defend that. But within this world of PLL, it worked well I guess.

- Sorry Troian, I wasn’t too convinced by the British accent unfortunately. But my gosh you slayed the rest. WHY COULDN’T WE GET AT LEAST ONE SCENE WITH TROIAN IN THE HOODIE!? That was a real shame. I get that it was set one year later, but… still, Alex should’ve wore the hoodie for a scene or two. For satisfaction’s sake, and it’s also just iconic for PLL.

- SHOUTOUT TO A FOLLOWER OF MINE WHO MESSAGED ME AFTER THE AIRPORT SCENE IN 715 SAYING THAT TWINCER SOUNDED BRITISH. HOW DID YOU GET THAT PART TOO!? “Are you going someplace?” sounded very British, I agree, but I never picked it until I was told to listen for it. Genius.

- We even got it right as to who Wren was shooting: Twincer, so that she can look like Spencer. Gosh, is there anything we didn’t predict?

- Bethany who? Eddie who? Seriously though, I’m going to spend hours editing my unanswered questions list. We got a lot. You can say whatever you want about the finale, but you can’t say we didn’t get answers. Like, c’mon. If you’re saying we didn’t get answers, you’re the type of person who complains over nothing and is just impossible to please. Every word that came out of Alex’s mouth was golden. We had rapid fire Q&A with Alex and Spencer. I’m not saying this finale answered 7 years worth of questions; I’ll probably find some unanswered things once I start going through my list. But… You. Can. Not. Say. We. Got. Zero. Answers. I hope that when I finish this post, I don’t see people spreading such stupid negativity.

- Wren died? How? Why? That was unnecessary. This finale really lacked a major death. I wanted to say OMG to at least ONE thing, and unfortunately, I couldn’t. Not one thing shocked me.

- Am I the only one who thought Wren’s involvement seemed a bit forced?? What are the actual odds of Wren running into Alex at a bar in London? Seriously? But whatever. I’m so glad he played a role in this, and a damn big one too.

- So ALEX was the British person Mary was talking to on the phone in 701!!!

- I loved the scene between Alex and Charlotte!!

- I found it really really random that Alex started messaging Mona 1 year later. They had just moved on and all of a sudden Alex is back to start to reveal herself. Maybe I’m forgetting something because that was just weird.

- I was disappointed that there wasn’t a major reason Alex took Ezra. I was waiting for them to reveal a mind blowing alliance between the two but then it slowly became obvious that he had just been kidnapped and wasn’t on the friendly side with Alex.

- Melissa’s mask was just pointless. That was pure fan service to MelissA theorists. (And also to throw us off for a bit.) And I knew Melissa wasn’t AD since there’s no way they’d reveal Uber A so randomly at a picnic like that. I knew it was a mask.

- I got dollhouse vibes when Spencer (or Ezra?) said “we’re still underground”. I thought that was creepy!

- Seriously… they make reference to the mums getting out of the basement, without actually giving us an answer??? “Do you remember how we even got out of there?” said Veronica. It would’ve been better to leave that dialogue out completely. Teasing fans over something they’ll never get, is far worse than acting like it was just forgotten.

- Did Veronica know that Spencer has a twin, since she made a comment in 4B about not knowing who is coming down for breakfast; Spencer or her evil twin? They really made it out as if no one knew about Alex.

- Wren is the father of Emison’s baby!? That was so subtle, the way Alex said it. WHY!? That makes no sense. I’ve noticed that this show is really big on “who” but not so big on the “why”. I’m just going to assume that Wren was the only male she had “access” to, to pull off the stunt, so she used Wren simply out of convenience. That’s all I can think of.

- So Ezria got married, Haleb is having a baby, Emison is engaged with twins, and Spoby is??? I was really really shocked actually that one ship is still left up in the air. It’s not a sad ending, but it’s not happy either. Maybe that’s the one thing that doesn’t get answered that Marlene was talking about.

- That last scene with the recreation of ‘that night’ should NOT have been the last scene of the entire show. If Freeform wants to launch a spinoff, fine, go ahead, but how dare you cut to the end credits after that scene. Call me fussy, but I call it passion. The final scene of the show should have been Mary and Alex stuck in Mona’s dollhouse. Cut to the credits after that closeup on Alex (Which, was brilliant by the way, and aligns with Janel’s comment of Mona having her own unique happy ending.)

- The wrap party was boring. Just saying. It should’ve been the 6 liars (yes Mona too) with Marlene, sitting in Spencer’s barn, talking about the making of the finale, any questions that couldn’t get wrapped up, favourite episodes, etc. I finished the finale and thought “it’s okay, I still have one more chance to farewell the show since the last scene didn’t do it for me!” and nope, this third hour was no better.

- FULL CIRCLE HOW??? Can someone name one thing that happened, that can be classified as “full circle”??? In my mind, full circle means Alison dying and the girls having a sleepover in the barn!?

- Overall, this is how I summarise the finale:

It did not feel like a finale. The first half was boring, even for a series finale. The goodbyes were not strong enough, and I did not feel like I properly said “thank you” and “farewell” to my favourite fictional characters ever. The scene with the girls at the end was far too short. The AD reveal was very predictable for me and other dedicated detectives, but I think other fans across the world will be pleased since it wasn’t actually that obvious. The motive was great. Troian slayed. But, coming from a person who also has a non-rhotic accent (Australian), I felt put off by Alex’s accent. The final scene was just stupid, I’m not watching a spinoff - the final scene should’ve been Mary and Alex. We got a shit ton of answers, but, as I’ll soon see when I go to my list, I don’t feel like it was everything. But absolutely, most things, yes.

In 3 words: slow, predictable, fun.

Here’s my theory where I correctly solved Alex Drake

Here’s my farewell letter

You were used to the motorcycles that rolled past your little house. It was the price you paid for living down the street from the second-in-command of the Howlies. But it kept you safe, safer than one might think and from what you’d seen of the man he’d been pretty nice to look at too.

It had been late fall when you’d bought the house and now that it was solidly spring you were finally able to get outside and plant some flowers. You’ve got a bandanna tied around your head, the ends on the top of your head and your hair in a messy ponytail. It’s nice enough for some lulu Capri pants and a T-shirt. You’re going to be gardening after all, you need to be able to move, you lug the bag of soil out of the garage and then bring out the flowers you bought last weekend. Mostly colorful daisies, a few marigolds and some white jasmine. You’d drawn out how you wanted them in the box so now it was just weeding, digging and planting.

The weeding takes around an hour. It’s annoying but also strangely satisfying to see the five gallon bucket full of weeds. You head inside for some lemonade and when you head back out you plop down on the grass. Face tilted up toward the sun as you lean back on your hands, your knees are bent with your feet planted on the ground, your phone playing the latest And That’s Why We Drink podcast episode. You hear a motorcycle roaring up the street toward you, it slows slightly as it takes the curve before your house, they never go too fast which is nice. You’d hate for someone to get hurt. The motorcycle passes by your house then the driver shouts, “Fuck!” His yell is followed by a crash and your eyes fly open.

Looking toward the street you’re astonished to see a bike now in your front yard. One rider still straddling the monster trying to get your mailbox out from underneath it.

“Holy shit are you okay?” You cry jumping up and hurrying toward him. He revs the engine causing you to squeak in surprise as he tries again to get the mailbox out from under the bike. “Hey!” You yell over the noise of the engine finally getting his attention.

Holy shit. He’s the hottest man you’ve ever seen. You knew he was good looking from the times he’s cruised by but you weren’t prepared for this.

“Are you okay?” You repeat and he nods but you can see the blood sliding down his face.

“I’m fine. I’m more worried about your mailbox and my bike.”

“You’re bleeding.” You point out and he touches the spot on his head. “Stay here I’ll go get my first aid kit.”

“I’m fine Darlin. Thanks though.”

“You’re bleeding. I know you’ve probably got like a reputation to uphold or something but you kinda owe me. You’ve taken out my mailbox and put a really nice rut into my front yard.” You point out and he looks a bit embarrassed. “Stay here. Or I will come down to your place and administer first aid there.”

“Yes ma’am.” He says with a small chuckle. You head inside not sure if you’re going to have to follow through on your threat or not.

Once you get back outside you’re pleased to see he’s still in your yard. He’s managed to get the mailbox and it’s post out from under his bike. His bike is now parked in front of your house and he’s frowning at the mark he’s made through your yard.

“Alright, let me see that cut.” You tell him and he turns to face you. Slipping on the gloves you pull out some gauze and an alcohol wipe. “Sorry if this stings-“ you trail off hoping you’ll get his name.

“Bucky.” He smiles as you tend to the cut on his forehead. You introduce yourself and he repeats your name softly. “How long have you lived here?” He asks as you press the gauze to the cut.

“Six months or so. I’m a teacher at Birchwood Elementary.” He’s not going to need stitches but head wounds bleed forever. “What happened?”

“When you hit my mailbox.”

“Oh, cat ran across the road.” He seems distracted, and you risk a glance into those bright blue eyes. His pupils don’t seem to be dilated.

“Orange tabby?” You ask focusing back on the cut on his head.

“Yea. Yours?”

“No, I’m more of a dog person. It’s Mr. Nelson’s, blue house three down. You didn’t hit it did you?”

“No Darlin’ just your mailbox.”

“I’m fine with sacrificing my mailbox for Mr. Nelson’s cat.” You give him a smile, “Can you tell me what day it is?” He can. He also knows how old he is, his address and what month it is so you’re satisfied that he doesn’t have a concussion.

“If you wanted to get to know me Doll all you had to do was ask.” He flirts and you laugh.

You remove the gauze after a few more minutes, he’s not bleeding anymore.

“You’re good to go Bucky. Thanks for humoring me.”

“You were a great nurse, next time I cut myself I’m coming over.”

“You’re welcome to stop by anytime.” You offer, you like him. He’s sweet, charming and funny, and you could use more friends outside of school.

“I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll be back tomorrow to fix that mailbox.”

“Don’t worry about it. I wanted a new one anyway, it’s already in the garage so really you’ve saved me work.” He doesn’t look like he believes you but when you assure him again he nods.

“Thanks again Darlin.”

You nod and after throwing away the supplies you’d used get back to gardening.

Two days later you’re headed down the road toward your house when you notice a big black motorcycle sitting on the street in front of it. Bucky is just finishing setting up the mailbox, the post is in the ground, and the box is no longer a plain black box. Instead someone has painted it to match the flowers in the flower bed. You pull into the garage and see that the mailbox you’d purchased is gone. You know you shut your garage door.

“Bucky,” You call making your way down the driveway. He grins up at you, “You really didn’t need to do this.”

“I wanted to.”

“Did you paint it too?”

“Steve did. He’s always been artsy and I figured this would be a bit nicer than that plain box.”

“It’s beautiful. Tell him thank you.” He throws the last of the dirt back into the hole and stomps it down.

“Done.” He goes to leave when you place a hand on his arm.

“How did you get that out of my garage?”

“Darlin, a little garage door isn’t much of a challenge. You should order a security system if you’re livin in there alone. The Howlies won’t always be enough to protect you.”

“I always lock the doors.”

“I could get past those too. I never would unless it was an emergency but that doesn’t mean Hydra won’t.” Your blood runs cold at the thought and a chill runs down your spine. “I’m sorry.”

“I didn’t mean to scare ya doll.”

“No, I need to be reminded. It’s just, safe, here not like the city so I forget that it’s still not safe.”

“I could-“ he stops but when you look up at him you’re surprised by the intensity of his gaze, “I could come check on you. Every now and then.”

“I’d like that.”

This starts a pattern, for the first month or so he stops by twice a week. Sometimes staying for dinner, other times having to deal with ‘business’ and just making sure you’re okay before he does so. Then it becomes three or four nights a week, and before you know it he’s at your place most nights.

One night he comes bursting into your place, you’d given him a key a couple months back so he’d stop picking the locks. “Pack a bag. You’re coming to my place tonight.”

“What?” You ask looking up from the homework you’re grading.

“Get some shit together. Now. Right now.” You’ve never seen Bucky like this and it’s honestly kinda terrifying.

“Bucky what’s going on?”

“You’ve been threatened and I need to get you safe.”

“So the belly of the beast is safer than a neutral location?”

“My home is protected by a gang of Howlies. Yours isn’t, come on Doll please pack a bag before I drag you outta here.” You do as he asks, grabbing a change of clothes, pajamas, tooth brush, toothpaste, and the bag you take to school.

“I’m ready.” You tell him and he wraps a hand around one of yours before hurrying you out of the house. You’re surprised to see there are four men waiting in your driveway.

“I’m Steve, I’ll take your bags.” The leader of the Howlies doesn’t look like a rough and tumble biker, but then again neither does Bucky most days.

“Thanks.” You hand over the bags and then Bucky swings a leg over his bike before passing you a helmet.

“Helmet on.”

“It’s like a block.”

“Helmet. On.” He growls and you do as he asks with a huff. One of the men chuckles. “Don’t encourage her Wilson.” Bucky snaps as you buckle the helmet. “Swing on Darlin.” You do and he revs the engine before rolling out of the driveway. If he’d been more relaxed you’d actually have loved to go for a ride. But not tonight. He’s way too tense and he and the rest of the men roar down the street. They pull the driveway and the other four men linger as Bucky continues up it toward the garage.

“Barton, Lang, first watch.” Steve orders and two of the men pull away as their leader rolls into the garage next to Bucky. The one Bucky’s called Wilson joins you. “I’ll take her stuff to your room Buck.” Steve says as you swing off of the bike, Wilson takes the helmet from your hands then whispers,

“Ask him why he really hit your mailbox.” Then winks and is gone. You’re standing there, completely confused, when Bucky speaks.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean for anyone to find out you were connected to me. Somehow they did.”

“It’s fine Bucky. I mean is this how I expected my night to go? Hell no, but I wouldn’t give up my connection to you, I love spending time with you.”

“You do?”

“Yea. I’m so glad you almost killed Mr. Nelson’s cat and killed my mailbox instead.” You tell him. He won’t look at you, “Oh my god you did kill the cat, didn’t you?”

“No darlin.”

“Then what is it? Something’s bothering you.” You take his face into your hands forcing him to look at you. “Bucky please.”

“I didn’t almost hit a cat. I’d never seen you before, not really and, God this is so embarrassing.” He grumbles, “I got so distracted by you and how gorgeous I think you are that I drove right into your mailbox.” You can’t help it, you laugh. Bucky tries to pull away from you but you wrap your arms around his neck and press your mouth to his.

It takes him a second to respond but when he does it’s with his whole body. His arms wrap around your waist and he drags you into his lap, so you’re sideways on his bike. He growls lowly as his lips coax yours apart, he swallows the sigh that passes your lips. You pull away first, resting your forehead against his you laugh softly.

“So about being connected to me and how you don’t care.”

“I really, really don’t care Barnes.” You assure him before kissing him again.

Last Post Mortem of season 4 of Supernatural… Villa Montezuma PM as told by Nini:

  • THEY ARE WEARING THE SHANIAC/BOOGARA SHIRTS AGAIN, THEY HAVE EACH OTHER’S NAME ON THEIR BACKS AGAIN. I’M ON TEARS. Also, I think we know this is the new merch and I’m happy about it.
  • THE LIGHTING IS GOOD AGAIN, I’M CRYING. Hopefully, it’ll stay this way for now on.
  • Remember when Ryan used to panic and yell no homo just because his fingers touched Shane’s just a tiny bit? And now look at him, elbowing the shit out of Shane… whose hair looks awesome, by the way.
  • “Catching ghouls, killing ghouls, buying boots” just the important things.
  • And Ryan has moved, “I don’t care about that”, lmao shut up, Shane.
  • “Once again, not a single scratch on me. That’s disappointing” MOOD.
  • Ryan assuming ghosts watch his show is somehow adorable and stupid, I love it. Also, someone is murderous today and I will have to endure half the posts on my dash blocked once again. And True Crime is coming, why is this so stressfull.
  • These two yelling Infinity Wars Spoilers like if half the world hasn’t seen it already like 100 times, fjdnksdbhfskmnj. Are they just… making fun of Vision? hdjsdnbjr what a mood.
  • MARK CELESTINO IS THE FUCKING BEST, and now a Host from Westworld, I accept this as the only truth.
  • Ryan was very active that monday, lmao, seems like moving out made him all !! and ain’t that adorable.
  • Devon is my new favorite, I’m glad she can feel the dark energy.
  • Ryan’s little laugh at them being accused to be extra funny last episode, jfnkdsnjrfmr. He’s such a cutie.
  • Oh my God, Ryan talking about how the other will always make the stupid comment for them to start laughing. All these times we say shit like, well they do have a connection, they are good friends? This is it. This is what we are talking about. I hope you guys have a friend or more which who you have this sort of connection, because it’s beautiful.
  • “Also, he’s have a funny looking face” lmao, Ryan.
  • “By the way, are you still doing that?” Shane’s face while he says that, I… lmao. Is Ryan that bad? Also, Ryan, honey… He is so nervous about playing guitar in a Post Mortem, lmao. #BergagGuitara… I really hope this was on purpose and not a misppeling, jfdsnfhjkmr. It’s Guitarra, by the way, not Guitara.
  • I wouldn’t blame the ghost for being annoyed by them, but If I was a ghost, I would mess up with them a lot. Especially Ryan, lmao.
  • Shane taking jellybeans from ghosts is further proof that he is, in fact, a demon.
  • So Ryan’s guitar thing is therapeutic. Uhm.
  • Jesus, Ryan, chill for five seconds.
  • Shane really wants Ryan to play guitar, let’s hope his dreams come true soon.
  • “It’s gonna be a big morning for me” aah, yes, the big deal of putting a sock then the shoe instead of sock, sock, shoe, shoe.
  • We have come to the point where we have fart jokes in this fucking show, why are they like this. I’m crying.
  • “You can announce and you can respect the other side” it’s that easy.
  • They are gonna be at VidCon and Mid Summer Scream. If any of you guys go… tell them I love them.
  • Ryan trying his best not to laugh during the HotDaga is my favorite part of it.
  • The way Ryan jumping at hearing his own voice, lmao.
  • Okay, listen… Shane has such a GOOD voice. Man can sing, is a good storyteller, writes good lyrics, is funny, handsome, knows shit tons of things, loves history, and if I keep the list I’m never finishing this.

I’m not even gonna front, lance has literally held the team up emotionally since the start and it fucking hurts that he’s always treated like garbage. with the exception of allura and Keith that one time, no one does anything to help him with his insecurities???? Yet he’s constantly uplifting and encouraging the rest of the team and doing his best to fight despite his own doubts. honestly....fuck Keith and Pidge lmao I’m sick of their excessive screen time and ugly attitudes

god. okay. so. i have ranted about this to so many different friends today so i’m really gonna try to condense it all but i am … really opinionated on this topic lol

lance has done nothing but constantly uplift his teammates, even after they treat him like absolute shit time and time again. he convinced allura to see the power within herself (and comforted her after the whole l*tor mess), he worked with keith when keith fucked up as bp and lance made sure they both brought the team back together, he attacked a galra general while handcuffed to try to protect pidge, he was calm and patient and defended fake shiro even after shiro basically told lance he wasn’t useful, and he always uplifts hunk and compliments him at every possibility. (more under the cut!)

I couldn’t let them hurt you

Pairing: Archie Andrews x Reader

Words: 3176 (Part one of ?)

Summary: The reader knows too much about Hiram Lodge and his involvement in illegal activities so he has threatened her boyfriend, Archie Andrews. If she doesn’t stay quiet- in a very permanent way- he’ll go after the boy she loves. And she won’t let that happen.

Note: The images I used in the aesthetic don’t belong to me, nor do the characters in the story. Just as a reference, this is based on the scene in the last episode, except the reader is the one on the river instead. (those who have seen it will know what I’m talking about) Also, at a certain point, it kinda switches from second person to third, so hopefully that’s not confusing.  Don’t forget that requests are always open! Enjoy.

Warnings: Blood, suicide, (also, feels alert. I hope)

The phone shook in your hands. Hiram’s crumbled letter grew damp with snow on the ground beside you. It read a very simple and clear message. Your secrets die with you… or him. I imagine you’ll make the right choice. -HL. That’s why you stood in the snow, holding your cell phone in your hands that were red and dry from the cold. You closed your eyes, letting the burning hot tears stream down your face. Slowly, you dialed the number. The other line rang a few times before he picked up, his beautiful, calm voice making you cry even harder.

“Hey, Y/N what’s wrong?” Archie stood in the parking lot of Southside High after finding Jughead. Veronica watched at him curiously.

“I couldn’t let them hurt you Arch.” You sucked in a painful breath. “He made me keep it all from you and now he wants to make sure I won’t tell anybody. But I… I can’t let him get away with it Arch.”

“Slow down.” Archie said, worry filling in every inch of him. “Y/N what are you talking about? Who is he?”

“I-I can’t. He’ll hurt you if I say anything Arch. I can’t let him hurt you.” You walked between the trees, slowly but surely getting closer to your destination. By this time, Jughead and Betty had noticed Archie and Veronica’s distress and gathered around Archie. “Is everybody there? Jughead? Veronica? Betty?”

“Yeah. Yeah we’re all here.” Archie put the phone on speaker. You gulped down a sob, nodding to yourself, trying to be brave for your friends.

I didn’t like Adventure Time very much the first time I saw it.  It was an early episode, one with the Ice King and I have only the vaguest memories of what was going on, but I clearly remember how annoying I found the characters (especially Ice King) and how lol random the humor seemed and how uninteresting the art was.

I don’t even remember what made me give it a second chance, but it was probably the endless parade of gifs across my dash on tumblr, the surprisingly good life advice from Jake (who isn’t inspired by the words, “Sucking at something is the first step to being kind of good at something.”?) or hilarious table flipping gifs from Princess Bubblegum, or maybe it was just seeing a lot of really amazing art people were drawing for it.  I am very much susceptible to a parade of beautiful art, after all.

But I started watching it properly, probably in the second or third season, and somehow it worked for me.  The humor was internet meme-style and it fit the lore of the show (it’s modern day slang because the world basically ended in a nuclear attack and so it never really got a chance to move on culturally and the weird lingo is the people of Ooo’s slow drift from that! ohhhhhh, okay, that makes it make sense to me! I love cool theories for stuff like that!) drew me in.

I really liked the characters, too.  Ice King still annoyed me, but Finn was actually really a pretty great protagonist, I loved his friendship with Jake, two guys who really liked each other, who really even loved each other.  Who liked going on adventures!  And there were lots of women around in the world and they were pretty fantastic characters, too.  Princess Bubblegum was kind and sweet, but she was also a straight up NERD and she could be furious and even kind of really mean and evil scientist at times!  Marceline seems like the typical ~2 goth 4 u~ character, but she’s actually really good-hearted and kind.

And more and more the episodes would leave me literally startling out loud, “What the fuck did I just watch!?” because it had blown my mind.  The show really knew how to kick into high gear with the plot when shit started happening–I will always remember watching Finn at the Citadel, trying to hold onto his father, trying to drag him back, and losing his fucking arm for it.  I will always remember Finn climbing the tower, singing, “Baby’s building a tower into space / Space is where he’s gonna find his dad / Daddy’s got an arm / And Baby’s gonna harm his arm by tearing it off his dad.”  Like, holy fuck, this show did not mess around.  Or the comet and Finn choosing whether or not to stay!  Finding the humans after so long!  Or how “Simon & Marcy” straight up made me cry after watching it.

So many moments that were awe-inspiring for how hard they hit and how much affection this show clearly had for its lore.  And that’s what made this finale so emotionally touching for me, so very bittersweet.

It isn’t just saying goodbye to an old friend (though, it is that, too), but it’s seeing Sweet P walking around in the future, it’s seeing the resolution of everything they’d built up with Betty (though, I’m hoping there are comics that resolve the rest of it, because I don’t want to leave it there!), of watching Marceline get to see Simon again, of seeing Susan and Frieda traveling around the world, of that moment of seeing the humans on the ship crossing the ocean, Minerva on the screen as Finn waved to her, and how emotional that made me.

And then there’s the Bubbline kiss.  Like a lot of people, I’ve shipped those two for so very long, I was pretty sure it was at least intentional subtext, but I never thought we’d get here.  I never thought we’d get an on-screen kiss that wasn’t just a half-measure, it wasn’t just a wink and a nod, it was fully confirmed and it was in an emotionally resonant moment.  It was part of a story.  And that means so much to me, that it doesn’t matter if we have Korra/Asami and Ruby/Sapphire already, because we need more lesbian and bi women (and men, but women take a backseat to male characters so often that I don’t think that needs pushing for nearly as much) and we need them everywhere.

I still think of kids growing up today who are watching these shows and seeing these women falling in love.  Who will feel seen because of this, who won’t feel like there’s something off about them because they have feelings that aren’t like what they’re seeing in the shows they watch, who won’t grow up feeling like, oh, I don’t really like girls/boys, I just ~appreciate~ that they’re nice-looking, but instead understand that, yes, these feelings are real and important and wonderful.  They’re part of epic moments, they’re part of sweet moments, they’re part of the story.

It’s okay to be confused about how you feel as a kid, it’s okay not to have strong definitions for what it is you’re feeling.  And Adventure Time shows that it can be complicated and uncertain, but it’s also good.

So, I cried for that, because Bubbline is important to my bi self who never had that growing up.  I cried for the kids who get to see that–whether they feel represented or are seeing something different from themselves, so that they understand those people exist and are wonderful, either way I love that kids are getting to see this.  I love that I get to see this, that this shitty world we’re currently in is slightly less shitty again.

And I love it because it’s just one part of a show that I loved very much.  My love for Adventure Time isn’t just about one aspect of it, but that the whole entire show was really good.  It was batshit and clearly having a great time with itself, it was emotional in all the right places, it was trying to do good things with its characters and the lessons they learned, it was mind-blowing when it wanted to be.  And it was emotional.

I cried over the romantic kisses, I cried over the family reunions, I cried over friendships, I cried because this show was always a joy whenever I got to sit down with it and I’m going to miss it very much.

But what a hell of a thing it was while I had it.

Thank you for everything you were, Adventure time.  I’m so glad I got to experience you.

Awkward Anime Episode 6.2 : Wolf Children - The fading innocence of Ame

Mamoru Hosoda’s 2012 creation has perfected something many modern directors try and fail at: Character Development. Engaging an audience to the point where they feel like they are in the mind of a character; frustration is felt when a mistake is made, satisfaction once the desired direction is taken. In Wolf Children, two of the characters have defined traits, following the path that they paved for themselves as children, yet on the outside, a young child watches and doesn’t speak. The audience is silent when he is. What is he thinking? Why is he doing this? Who do you want to be? That character always stands out to my mind with intrigue, frustration and acceptance filling my head throughout the film. Ame, the child who took it upon himself to grow up without letting anyone know.

Ame the child is easy to define, just like the rest of us, a shy, curious boy afraid of what is out there. Hosoda throughout his major works enjoys producing characters with defined personalities, where the start point creates a straight line to the end point. Before 2012 though, he had never focused on siblings before. The animator turned director decided upon the start of production that a brother and sister would be used. Yuki, the scrappy child turned mature strong teenage girl… And Ame, the erm… Interesting one.

Frustration is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Ame, is that fair of me though? I think the reason so many of us feel frustrated when he creates worrisome times for his Mother is due to one simple fact: We grow with Hana as time passes.

The movie is featured on the strength and persistence of young Hana, setting an image for her kids where they can be wild and free but also at the same time live diligently as humans. Now this raises the question, was Hana right in doing this? Giving the children a small amount of freedom every now and again, where the first view that both Yuki and Ame’s eyes lay on as they walk out the house could plant that seed of freedom in their minds?

Hana from the first moment she gave birth to her children, wanted to give a life of freedom where they can let their wild sides out without judgment and as time passes she would understand whatever path they would take. But as we all know, motherly love is nothing short of unbelievably hard to let go and we see that bond between Ame and his parent become more and more difficult to keep glued together.

“the strongest bond on earth is that between a mother and children”

Ame’s transformation from a shy, attentive young boy to a curious silent wolf happened rather quickly in my opinion, but as I rewatch the movie it’s clear to me that his maturity is justified. It all came down to that one scene. The 10-15 minutes where the whole family finally felt what true freedom feels like. “I wasn’t scared. I felt like I could do anything”

“After that moment, Ame seemed like a totally different person”

Snow covers the vast fields and mountains surrounding their home. The door slides open to the family of three gawking in amazement. Here is the first time I see Ame, the Ame that he never showed us. Hosoda wanted to create a character who isn’t defined which is something that is difficult to perfect. Yuki, as she sees the white canvas, her character shines. She jumps out and just frolics in the snow to her delight.

Ame on the other hand… We see a young boy trudging along trying his utmost best to not trip and fall. The young boy is still yet to show his wild side, the freedom that we all as viewers know he craves, shown from the curiosity he has with the prejudice against wolves. He falls. Then something truly remarkable happened. His mother jumped in and hugged both of her children, and then we hear laughter. Ame, the shy little boy is laughing his heart out. What changed in those few seconds from trudging to laughing uncontrollably? I cannot look past Hana. It’s almost as if the mother gave him her approval, as if to say “It’s okay, it’ll be okay” the same words that we hear countless times up to this point. He needed his mum’s guarantee that it is safe to come out and play.

1. The wolves come out to play. Ame and Yuki are let loose, and for the first time in this movie, we see the timid Ame wild and free.

2. Ame and Yuki run down the snow covered fields in parallel fashion, as Hana tumbles down with a smile in her face. This right here, is my favourite scene in the entire film. Ame and Yuki, taking different paths but ultimately ending up in the same place, crossing each other, meeting in the middle. Hana chasing after Ame and Yuki, tumbles, rolls down…but with smiles and laughter. The biggest grins I have seen on her face. Ame is free. Yuki is free. She is grateful and proud that her children are able to let go of the world and be themselves.

3. Ame’s eyes cross a kingfisher bird, and then and there we see a quick movement. Leaping and catching the prey in his mouth, witnessing this weak timid toddler be so vicious in movement, biting down looking for the kill. Though, just as in the snow, he trips and falls. He calls for his mother as he is taken down the stream by the water in what seems like his final moments.

Ame: “Rain” born on a rainy day, and leaves his mother on a rainy day at the conclusion of the animated feature. Crying constantly as child who would always be cradling his mum asking for care. Silent, viewing life from a distance as a young teen where he stands and listens. The sounds of the forest. The wild life. No smile. Just a touch of acceptance is felt by Ame, the Wolf. Hana, is proud and realises his Son’s place in the world is where he wants it to be, not hers. She gave them the taste of freedom while trying her best to direct her children to a peaceful, human life. There is no right and wrong here. There is only life. Complications arise, and when they cannot be repaired, he has to leave. The howl at the end, we all know what he meant by that. Howling for his mother. The howl that reiterated the same words he heard his entire childhood:“It’ll be okay. It’ll be okay”

Prompt: Kim and Trini watching Supergirl together.

Thanks for the prompt!

Monday nights were sacred. On Monday’s they had a rule: if the world wasn’t at risk of ending and there were no imminent threats, then they had to be over at Trini’s - mostly to show her mother she did in fact have friends - to watch Supergirl.

Trini, of course, blames Kimberly for getting her into the damn show. She had been fine with messing on her phone or with doing homework while her f=girlfriend watched it, but Kimberly would just complain they weren’t doing anything together. Trini had rolled her eyes and had let out a deep breathe, but had gone to join her girlfriend, nonetheless, scooting herself down the bed so she could sit next to her.

“We have to start from the beginning.” Kimberly had said as she messed around with her phone for a couple seconds, her eyes furrowing in concentration.

“Wait, what? What are we watching?” Trini asks, trying to peek over Kimberly’s shoulder. It didn’t take long before the starting monologue of Supergirl blared out in her room. Trini groans because she’s heard this before - Kimberly talks about it every chance she gets - and she knows the other girl is already on the second season.

“Just give it a chance.” Kimberly whines next to her as she rolls her eyes.

“Fine.” Trini says, a small huff escaping her lips. She doesn’t complain further, though, because Kimberly smiles at her with that really big smile she gets when she’s really excited, so she figures she can indulge her in watching the firs few episodes until they fall asleep. Also, the small kisses she gets from her girlfriend throughout the night don’t hurt either.

But she didn’t realize that’s how it starts, and she hates herself for being so weak. It didn’t take long for Trini to be invested. In fact, the next morning, when she woke up with Kimberly’s dark hair in her mouth and the girl curled around her, she hadn’t remembered how or when she had fallen asleep. Kimberly had laughed and given her a knowing smirk before pulling her out of bed a few minutes later.

Then, she finished the first season. All of it. It took her three days of almost no sleep. She had been glad she had finished, now she could move on with her life.

“You know there’s a second season, right?”

Trini wants to shoot lasers at her girlfriend. Kimberly laughs as Trini glares at the wall above her head, Trini’s hand tightening around her pen, trying to control the urge of snapping it in half in the middle of chemistry. She didn’t need to see the second season, though, because she was fine, she was almost an adult and she didn’t have an addiction to fictional characters. No, she didn’t.

“I have them on demand, wanna come over tonight?” Kimberly says from across Trini, a smirk playing on her face as she waits for a response.

It takes her a total of thirteen seconds before she lets her shoulder sag. “Ugh, fine,” Trini concedes, still glaring at the wall as she curses herself for being so weak.

She doesn’t sleep that night. She had gotten to her girlfriend’s right after school, secretly thanking whoever it was for not having to save the world - at least tonight - and she didn’t leave until the next morning for school - she tried to ignore the weird looks she got…mostly because she was wearing her girlfriend’s clothes.

Trini had the biggest TV, so when she had invited her girlfriend over to watch the latest episode, who was she to dictate what they watched. It wasn’t a secret Kimberly never missed an episode - it made it easier on her to have an excuse to have to watch it. And everything would haven been fine if she wasn’t so…invested.

“Can you believe this prick? Who does he think he is?” Trini says outraged as she glares at the TV, making gagging sounds every time the white potato crossed her screen. “Kara could do so much better than him - she’s got two choices for crying out loud: Lena or James. And she went with this guy?”

“They’re not real, babe.” Kimberly whispers in her ear, pecking her neck before running her fingers through brown hair, caressing her neck every so often when Trini would curse at the screen.

“It doesn’t matter,” Trini whines as she let herself lean back against her girlfriend’s chest. “My little brothers watch this, and look what he’s teaching them.”

“Baby,” Kimberly says with a sigh, a small chuckle escaping her lips, “just ignore it.”

“I can’t,” Trini points out, turning to look at her when the commercials began, “he’s shoved in my face every two seconds. Why can’t we go back to season one and add Sanvers? My babies are suffering, Kim.”

Trini glares at her girlfriend when she sees the tell-tale signs of a smile on her face.

“Don’t,” Trini warns as she watches Kimberly cup her mouth, her smile big enough to spill over. “Stop it,” Trini says again as she shoves Kimberly’s shoulder lightly, but it only causes Kimberly to laugh out loud faster. Trini hates that she can’t actually be mad because she can’t help but think how beautiful the other girl is. She watches with wide eyes as Kimberly’s eyes squint and her lips pull upwards enough to see her white teeth. The melodious laugh making her heart speed up as a shiver threatens to run down her spine. Ugh, she hates her.

“Stop,” Trini says again, a smile now forming on her face. “Babe, stop or I’ll go watch with Zack - at least he doesn’t judge.”

That makes Kimberly laugh even harder. Trini huffs and crosses her arms, willing Kimberly to stop laughing with a seriously look. She’s not surprised when it doesn’t work, so she pushes herself up and crosses the room to the chair near the corner.

“I’m sorry,” Kimberly says between laughs, trying to pout but her laughter got in the way. The show comes back and they both quiet down. Trini tries to ignore the pair of eyes looking at her from across the room because she laughed at her when her smol children were in distress. She huffs again and it doesn’t take long before commercials begin again.

“Come on, babe,” Kimberly says with a pout as she stands and makes her way to Trini, extending her hand out for the other girl to grab, “I’m sorry.”

“You don’t mean it.” Trini says with a scoff as she squares her shoulders and moves her jaw to show her irritation.

“I do,” Kimberly says, tugging on one of Trini’s arms until she pulls hard enough to stand her up, wrapping her arms around her waist as she tugs her in closer. “I mean it, I won’t laugh anymore. And I agree with you - Kara can find someone better.”

“Like Lena-”

“Or James.” Kimberly says and Trini can’t help the twitch of her lips as she stares at her girlfriend, her brown eyes hypnotizing. She tilts her head when Kimberly cups her cheek, her thumb rubbing softly against her skin. Trini rolls her eyes when she feels a shiver course down her spine because, really? Is this what love sick feels like?

“Can we just get back to watching Supergirl? Maggie is going to be on soon and I can’t miss my wife.” Trini says as she pushes her way to her bed, climbing it and making herself comfortable.

“Excuse me?”

Lucifer - it’s not just a show

“So much bad is happening in the world” They said.
“How can you cry over a cancelled TV show?” They asked.
“Set your priorities straight!” They demanded.

Let me tell you something my fellow Lucifans.

Lucifer is not just a show, not to me!

I discovered it in summer 2016, the first season had finished a few weeks before, the second was about to start a few weeks later and I’d seen the commercial for the show on television.

I hopped over to Amazon and when the Devil looked up and said, “Well, obviously, you felt the need to exercise your limited powers and punish me for ignoring the speed limi,.” I was hooked.

I watched the whole season in one day.

And a second time…. And a third time, over and over again.

And it did something to me.

Let me tell you why it is not just a show to me:

I was stuck in a horrible job that was killing me slowly. I was trapped in a hellish loop made of depression, anxiety and exhaustion.

I was walking to my job in the morning, thinking how I wanted get hurt on the 500 meters from home to the job so I wouldn’t need to go.

I cried in my breaks, I wanted to end it all when my shift was over. (And for people saying ‘Duh, get another job’ It’s not that easy for some people/ in some areas).

Everything felt meaningless, I felt useless. I wanted to kill myself, but I couldn’t do it and I’m glad about that.

Then, one bored day I stumbled across Lucifer - like I said I had seen the commercial on television, and why not? It looked fun.

And I was hooked from the beginning. I rewatched the first season 3 times in a row after work every day.

When I woke up in the morning, I only could think about the Devil.

He kept me going during the day. When I had to deal with horrible customers I thought of him. When I was scared of my boss, he made me smile.

When I had a nervous breakdown and a panic attack in front of a dozen customers and needed a break he eased my anxiety. Just thinking about Lucifer annoying the Detective helped.

While I was waiting for Season 2, I started reading Fanfiction again. Something I hadn’t done in nearly a decade. And damn! The writers in the Fandom are awesome.

Of course I left comments on my favorite ones. That’s the way I met my little sister. I love her stories, I’ve re-read them so many times and they still make me cry and laugh.

It’s a special friendship and I’m so happy to have her. She became family, we write every day and we are planning things years in advance we want to do together, and this is so AWESOME!!!

She helped me improve my English to the point I’m no longer afraid to speak or write it after a “friend” destroyed my whole self-esteem regarding this language.

I also started to write again. I finally was able to have a creative outlet for my little daydreams and I LOVE it.

I met another amazing person who I have lots of fun to speculate with. We listen to each other’s problems and calm each other down. I wouldn’t want to miss it.

And somebody else I met, we don’t talk that often to each other, but when we do it’s always comforting.

Since knowing the Devil, I often ask myself what I desire and I act on my desires as good as possible. It helps a lot in life.

I act after thinking “What would Lucifer do” too, and instead of overthinking everything, it helped me to sort out some serious issues.

I’m out of the horrible job for over a year now. I’m still fighting with heavy depression and anxiety problems (and I probably will for the rest of my life).

Yes, I have my friends and my pets, but everyone fighting with depression knows that sometimes those mean nothing while meaning everything to you, right?

Sometimes you need just that little thing that keeps you going. Others may not understand it, but you do. And for me it’s Lucifer.

For the Devil I stopped thinking about the possibilities of getting hurt on my way to work, because I needed to see the next episode.

He is the one shooing away suicidal thoughts, because you guessed it - I need to see the next episode.

Whenever I have a panic attack, I re-read some of my favorite stories or watch Lucifer to calm me down. It’s helping.

I got Plushifer as anti-anxiety Devil. Whenever I’m not at home and an anxiety attack is coming I just look at this cutie, squeeze him and it gets better.

I also got to know the comics the show is based on. Another amazing world to dive right in. A masterpiece if you ask me and one thing more I can think about when I’m down again.

Lucifer aka Tom Ellis inspired me to work out and lose some weight. It’s not easy, but watching his dedication in the gym is motivation enough.

Speaking of Tom, I hit rock bottom at the beginning of the year once more. And what kept me going this time besides Season 3? The MagicCon in March.

I met Tom for the first time ever in person and I was so thrilled about it.

It was magical. Tom is such a nice, amazing person. He is funny, he is a gentleman and he is always fun to be around.

The honor to meet him, to get autographs and a picture, the fact that he hugged me still makes me cry.

I’m a 32yo man and I’m crying when I’m thinking about Tom Ellis hugging me.

I still pull energy out of this event and it keeps my depression in check.

So NO! It’s not just a show, not to all of us. For some it’s literally our lifeline.

It brings people together from all over the world and forges amazing friendships.

And whenever I look at my Lucifer tattoos or touch my facial scar, I think of all those amazing moments I had because of the show and it always makes me smile.

Hopefully we will have more seasons and more amazing moments to create.

I summed up the most interesting things Adam said during this interview.

During his first auditions for the role Daron was impressed by how good Adam was at making “fighting sounds”. He thanked his years of martial arts for that.

- When Adam had to come up with a voice for Marco, having seen his pictures, he thought that he looked like a “kid with a sweet demeanor who sort of wants to be a bad boy”, and he essentially used what’s his normal voice, with a higher pitch.

- Adam sometimes feels like he’s reliving his teenage years by voicing Marco, and said that when he read the script for Sleepover he was shocked to see the piano scene, since he essentially did the same to impress the girls over at his house for his sister’s sleepovers.

Hey Kristen! I really hope this doesn't come off as an anti ask because I swear I don't mean it that way:/ I was wondering - how will Dany and Jon achieve equality? I always saw Westeros as a place where there is a king and his wife, or thought that there will be a queen (Dany) and her husband. Isn't there always just one ruler and their spouse? Even today, that monster that sits in the white house is our president, and Melania is just his wife. So how will they be equals? No hate, love you 😘❤️

Hi, same anon who asked about Jon/Dany being equal rulers. I just wanted to add - if there is an iron throne left, who do you think will sit on it? Will they just forge another one using Drogon’s fire?:D Or do you think there won’t be an iron throne anymore? I think it’s pretty clear that there will be no more IT but I’m still curious to hear what you think. Hope you’re having a wonderful day, love you💞

First of all, omg you’re so sweet and cute anon haha. The love is mutual <3

Well, in the current system, you would be absolutely right! The Iron Throne is certainly built for one and we don’t really have good examples of exceptions to that rule. But we have something close.

In ASOIAF history, King Jaehaerys and his sister/wife Queen Alysanne had a successful working relationship as husband and wife, king and queen consort.

They weren’t total equals but she exercised a lot of influence over him and was his chief counselor.

For example, she was able to convince him to outlaw the custom of the first night, which you may remember from Braveheart haha–basically lords getting to sleep with brides under their jurisdiction on their wedding night. This was something Jaehaerys’s nobles were very serious about but the king made policy decisions according to his queen’s advice. I think that’s huge.

They were married for 46 years and Jaehaery’s reign was the longest in history–55 years. He was often called “The Wise” or “Conciliator,” and Alysanne was called “The Good Queen.” They had thirteen children together and their reign was a time of relative peace and prosperity for the realm.

Why do I tell you all of this? Well, I think that they establish a precedent of a Targaryen couple operating as an effective unit where the power dynamic was close to equal.

Jon and Dany will be a more modern, progressive version of this where the woman is the one more interested in ruling/politics, but ultimately will go to her spouse for advice and heed that advice, as we have seen in canon already. Dany asked Jon what to do before the loot train battle. As we know, she wanted to go right to the Red Keep and get rid of her Cersei problem the old fashioned way. But Jon told her not to burn “cities” or “castles.” So instead she met enemy soldiers on the field of battle. She listened to his advice. If the king and queen tell each other what to do and listen to each other, regardless of titles, their relationship is equal in practice.

But on the subject of titles, I don’t think we yet have evidence that their titles will be unequal either. In 7.04 Dany asked Jon to bend the knee a second time. But even after asking this, she referred to him as a king. I think that is important. She said that Jon’s people would accept her as their queen if their king accepted her. To me this meant that she was on board with the idea of Jon still being called king, so long as he and his people were loyal to her and acknowledged her as their queen.

In the next episode we could see more of this. When Dany ordered Jon not to leave Dragonstone, she was clearly just doing it as a last, desperate effort to keep him safe and near her because she was already developing feelings for him. When Jon protested and said, “I am a king,” the camera immediately panned to Dany’s face, and she smiled. She didn’t disagree. She smiled and listened to him without another word of protest.

Later in the same episode when Jon was leaving for Eastwatch, he told Dany that if he died she wouldn’t have to deal with “The King in the North” anymore. Again, Dany kind of smiled. She didn’t disagree or react negatively, and was clearly sad to see him go. To me, this signified her acceptance of his title as KitN. She views him as a king and is no longer interested in taking that away from him.

Finally, in 7.06 Dany puts her life on the line to save Jon and when they speak afterward in the boat, she offers to help Jon fight the NK without any assurances of his loyalty or that of the North. It is only after this that Jon calls her, “My queen.” When he does this, he says, “I’d bend the knee …” and trails off, smiling. I think he was joking about being naked but also about bending the knee in general because that issue has become a running joke between them. Dany no longer requires this and Jon knows that. If he thought she was his superior and someone he has to subjugate himself to, I doubt very strongly that he would have given her a nickname (”Dany”) or taken her hand the way he did.

Calling her, “My queen,” felt to me almost like a term of endearment. Yes, he swore fealty. Yes, it was politically significant. But to me it also signified a declaration of his feelings and intentions. He can absolutely still be the KitN: he’s merely chosen his queen. The use of the personal pronoun is key here, I think.

And I also feel strongly that Dany picked up on this meaning as he said it and knew the significance of what he was saying. That’s why she was so touched, crying, and saying, “I hope I deserve it.” She is moved that he is loyal to her, yes; but she is moved even more by Jon’s feelings for her and the idea that he wants to make her his queen… possibly his wife?

So I could be wrong, but I believe that at this moment Jon is still every bit the king he was in episode 5. I also think that Dany is happy to let him remain so, no longer threatened by his power. Instead she is intrigued by and attracted to it.

This is why Jon’s legitimacy is going to be so important. I don’t think it is to create conflict with Dany–because we are getting the information AFTER their relationship is serious and confirmed. I think it is to make Jon and Dany a united couple and the obvious choice for king and queen, two legitimate Targaryen heirs who also have the love and loyalty of the people.

As to the Iron Throne itself, I’m with you–I don’t think it will still be around at the end of the series. At least not in its current form. Personally I think Jon and Dany won’t rule at all (if they both even survive) but that it will be by choice. Dany wants a home and family (the house with the red door) more than she wants to be queen. She wants to “break the wheel.” The current system is not something she is interested in. And we already know Jon isn’t fond of being king, as he has mentioned explicitly.

But if they did rule, I think it is not only possible but extremely likely that they would do so as equals. I think the seven kingdoms will be more independent, with their own monarchs instead of just wardens/lords, and that it is possible that Jon and Dany could still rule them from KL (United Kingdom(s)?), but not in the current mode and not on the Iron Throne.

frozen kisses & warm hearts

thanks @gaybabygeekboy for the inspiration. it’s the day after christmas but i HAD to write something for this. this is just soft christmas themed fluff

Mike knows that Christmas is hard for Will. Even though he hides it behind small smiles and agreeable responses when asked if he’s excited, he sees how he’s distinctively placed himself away from the conversation about gifts, celebration, and general Christmas cheer. It’s gotten worse with every year and Mike hates it. He remembers, before everything, how much Will had loved Christmas, probably more than anyone he knew. How brightly his face would shine when he showed off his modest pile of presents, usually all art related, and how excited he’d been talking about the own gifts he gave his family.

Well, this year would be different. Mike Wheeler is going to make sure that this would be Will Byers’ best Christmas yet.
