also this took me longer than it should have ):

“You were the gawky one,” he corrected, “Lee was the reckless one, Zu was the cute one, and I was the wise one.”

Hi, guys! I recently received an ask from @sunny-bunnies about my handwriting and headers! I thought my headers were more interesting (I’ll probably do a handwriting tag eventually haha), and I have a lot that I use so this post would get way long if I did both :)

Anyway, I’m going to go through all of the headers that I use regularly! they’re pictured above with and without shadows as a tl;dr.

monoline: this style is pretty popular right now and is also my current favorite! basically, it’s cursive, but uneven- whenever a letter ends in a downstroke, I extend it a little below where it would usually be and also vary the line on which the letters “sit.” The most important tip for this style is to keep stroke width and letter size the same, so that the unevenness looks intentional and not sloppy.

lowercase: I like to use this one as a subheading! it looks much better in the shadow version but basically you write in lowercase print as neatly as you can and hope for the best.

uppercase: This one can be used virtually anywhere! It’s pretty much writing in all caps; I prefer to stretch it vertically! (If you do this, make sure your letters are vertically centered in the same place! ex. the middle line on the E can go high, low, or in the middle, but it should also match where the bump of a P ends.)

faux calligraphy: (forgive me running out of space on this one oops) sort of like monoline (you can do the cursive evenly, like above, or unevenly), but after you write, go back in and thicken the downstrokes. This is much easier than regular calligraphy if you a. don’t feel confident with your calligraphy or b. don’t own brush pens!

serif 1: this one’s cute and kinda typewriter-ish! just print your letters and add serifs (little mini dashes) to the ends of lines. boom! you’re done. I like to look up a typewriter font to have a reference for the serif length and placement, but tbh it looks pretty good even if you wing it.

serif 2: serif 1 but adding to vertical strokes (note that these are not the same as the downstrokes used in faux calligraphy!) I based this style off of times new roman if you need a reference. A warning about serifs: shadows are a pain to do so if you choose to do a shadow + serif, make sure your header is 10 or fewer letters (you’ll thank me later.)

two-tone: take your faux calligraphy (this works better if you have thicker strokes), draw an imaginary line down the middle, and use a darker color to color over the top or bottom (I favor the bottom but it’s a matter of personal preference!) Layering colors (as opposed to just making each half the letter one color) has 2 benefits: 1. no guesswork in trying to match up halves, and 2. the colors look more cohesive! You can also try to blend the colors together to make a gradient (lay down more of the darker color and blend it upward with the lighter one!)

big & small: uppercase, but instead of adding shadows, add mini cursive letters to the centers of the colored letters. Make sure to connect it all together!

highlighted caps: A classic and perfect if you’re in a rush or doing subheaders. just write in all caps and highlight over it. voilá!

color shadow: I would definitely recommend doing this in a larger space than the one I left myself (check out this post to see it done less sloppily) but the idea is to do faux calligraphy with the black pen and the shadow with your colored pen or highlighter! (here I would generally recommend a gel pen or felt, fine-tipped marker but obviously I didn’t follow either of my own tips so make of that what you will)

a note on shadows: So I’ve mentioned shadows a couple times. Unless you want to make your life hard, do the shadows after the main body of the letter. There are just 3 basic rules I follow here! 1. pick 2 adjacent directions to do the shadows in (above, I picked down and right but you can also pick down and left or, if you’re feeling creative, up and left or right.) 2. For every line, one side should be in shadow. this isn’t a hard-and-fast rule but it’s pretty good to follow in general. 3. Choose a primary and secondary direction! For example, I picked down and right, correct? But if I have a capital A (see “uppercase”) I need to pick between a down/left shadow and an up/right shadow. Since I picked right as my primary direction, I choose the up/right side! This is basically an extension of rule 2 but it took me a while to figure out so I thought it should be included.

Sorry! this post went a lot longer than I had intended, but hopefully it was informative! P.S. if you like my posts, maybe you’d also like my new studygram!

Relationship: Klance

Words: ~40k

Summary: Keith has never really been good with words. He says what he means, and more often than not, what he doesn’t mean, leading to several uncomfortable situations.

One of said occasions happens on a planet during a mission, where Keith’s attempt at complimenting the blue paladin is entirely misinterpreted, but Keith isn’t able to properly apologize before the mission goes south, resulting in Lance being subjected to the ‘gifts’ the locals possess.

So now Keith is at an impasse, with his communication skills severely lacking in the comforting department, and his growing feelings towards Lance making everything so much more difficult than it needs to be.
If only there were a way to talk to the blue paladin without using words…

Had to remake my masterpost because I changed my blog url and Tumblr wouldn’t allow me to go into my original post and edit.

Also, this took me about three times longer to make than it should have because I was rereading all the asks that you all had sent from when I started and all throughout the entire AM story. And honestly it just made me emotional because I had been so terrified, and I mean TERRIFIED to put my writing on here and now I’m just like “I didn’t edit this before I posted it, message me if there’s a big error.” On one hand that’s just me being lazy af, but on the other hand, I’ve become so comfortable posting on here and comfortable with all of you that I don’t fear any negative feedback and I just never thought I would be like that in writing.

Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for these last six months (holy ef six months!)  I would write a lot more and get a lot more emotional and dramatic, but I’m really tired. Maybe another time.

A/N: Heyyyy, I’m back! I know It Takes A Great Deal Of Bravery is still unfinished but I had a little fallback there so please let me know if you want more chapters! I’m in need of little inspiration here <3 Also, should I make a masterlist? I know what it’s like having to scroll endlessly for fics, so let me know if you want a shortcut! Thank you for all the love, you guys are the best!

Also I split this fic into two parts, ‘cause it got longer than I expected, so stay tuned for part 2. Let me know if you want to be tagged!

It started so subtly, she didn’t even notice until it was too late.

All it took was one look. One moment he is her friend grieving the loss of the person that changed his life, the next he looks up, his usual facade broken to pieces, and a bruised, beautiful man steps into the light. The eyes that bore into hers hold an indescribable power, millions of feelings and stories swimming in those brown orbs. She got lost in them, seconds turned into breathtaking moments exploring the world inside his mind, climbing mountains of memories and walking through forests of experience. It took one look, filled to the brim with unsaid words and tears threatening to spill, to realize she was in love with him.

But then he looked away and she realized; she had made a huge mistake.

“Leonard! It’s your favorite patient!” Her call was followed by an exasperated sigh and the screech of a chair. The Med-Bay was quiet that day, only a handful of people littered about and the only sound that could be heard was the air-conditioning whirring above them.

“What did you do this ti-“ Leonard abruptly stopped mid-sentence as soon as he rounded the corner and spotted her standing in the doorway clutching her bloody hand. “Dear god, what the hell did you do?!” He ran up to her and gently took her hand to examine it. She smiled at him sheepishly.

“Challenged Sulu to a duel… again… we got a little carried off.” She chuckled and he gave her a look. “I promise I’ll be more careful next time!” She winced, both at his stern expression and the pain that shot up her arm when he turned her hand.

“Why do I not believe you?” He asked with an eye roll as he led her to the nearest med-bed and started to clean the wound. A stray hair rebelled from his neatly combed hair and she couldn’t help but think how adorable he looked.

“’Cause I never stop making stupid decisions.” She winked at him with a grin, successfully drawing another eye roll from him.

“I cannot fathom how someone let you be the Chief Security Officer on this ship.” He said dramatically, only earning another smile from her.

“Obviously someone saw how awesome I am.”

Obviously!” He repeated sarcastically. She snorted and watched his hands work on the cut Sulu so graciously gave her. She had grown used to ignoring the tingles she got when Leonard touched her. It had been two years since she realized she loved him, and every day she buried more hidden feelings in the deepest parts of her mind. Lately she felt as if she was running out of space.

Their relationship was simple, really. They’d banter a lot, she’d playfully joke with him and he’d roll his eyes and occasionally, fail to fight a smile. That was why she started talking to him in the first place, she didn’t know why at the time but she wanted to see him smile. So she joked and annoyed him whenever she had the chance and her heart went aflutter with triumph at every smile and every laugh. She loved seeing him happy for a change.

Of course now she knows why; she was deeply, madly in love with the man.

But she never said a word.

“Did you remember to take your medicine this morning?” He suddenly asked, frowning at the report on his tricorder.

“Uh… yeah! Of course.” She lied. Crap. She totally forgot. He didn´t seem to believe her in the slightest.

“Oh, really?” He arched an eyebrow and stared her down. Usually she could stare back all day with the same stubborn attitude as him, but she got distracted by the feel of his hand still on hers and silently cursed when she felt her face redden. Looking away, she decided to just give in.

“Okay, I forgot.” She mumbled and he threw his hands in the air.

“I swear to god, do I need to physically come to your quarters and shove them down your throat so you’ll remember?” He shook his head at her and she would’ve thought he was furious if it wasn’t for the glint in his eyes. He was used to her by now. Crossing her arms, she looked at him pointedly. His eyebrows inched up as he mimicked her movements.

“I’d like to see you try.” She tried to sound intimidating but couldn‘t fight the smile off her face.

“Oh, I will.” He said, leaning forward, the corners of his mouth twitching. For a moment they simply stared at each other, competing in a wordless game when the sudden clearing of throat prompted them to look up at a grinning Jim.

“Okay, so whenever you guys are done flirting, I need you to go on a mission.” His grin grew wider as the two people in front of him blushed and Leonard took a step back, furrowing his brows and fiddling with his tricorder.

“A mission? I’m in.” She straightened and was about to jump off the bed when a hand stopped her.

“Oh ho no, you’re not, you’re hurt.” Leonard said, pointing at her arm. She rolled her eyes.

“I’m fine, see?” She flexed her bandaged hand for them to see, only feeling slight pain from the healing wound, but she wasn’t going to mention that.

“You’re not going.” Leonard‘s tone indicated there was no room for arguments but unluckily for him, she could always argue.

“I’m going.” She whacked his hand away and jumped off the bed.

“You’re not going.” He tried to push her back on her bed but she wouldn’t budge.

“I’m going!” She said with determination. They started staring each other down again, ignoring Jim‘s chuckles beside them.

“Aw look at you two; you’re like an old married couple!” He cooed and successfully made them stop to glare at him.

“Shut up, Jim!” They said simultaneously, making Jim double over with laughter.

“Captain, permission to go on this mission?” She turned to Jim fully, ignoring Leonard‘s attempts to get her to sit down.

“Mission granted.” He nodded as he tried to catch his breath and she turned to Leonard with a triumphant smile.

“See? Captains orders.”

“Jim!“ He yelled at the Captain. „Well I say she can‘t, Doctor‘s orders.“

„Which one‘s more important?“ She stage-whispered to Jim and he opened his mouth to reply when Leonard cut him off.

„Mine.“ He grumbled. Fine, he wants to be stubborn? She‘ll just have to resort to desperate measures. Sighing dramatically, she melted away the tension in her body and pouted at him.

„Len, please? I know you don‘t want me to push myself but I really want to get outside, you know how uncomfortable I can get in here….Please?“ She gave him her best puppy dog eyes, hoping to god he‘ll just let her go. He looked like he was about to argue, but stopped. Glaring at her for a moment longer, he pinched his nose and let his shoulders drop.

„Fine, but you have got to stay close.” He relented and pointed a finger at her. She jumped and beamed at him and he visibly softened for a moment. “Why do I even try?” He muttered.

“Don’t I always?” She gave his arm a squeeze as a thank you and waggled her eyebrows at his later statement. He shook his head, smiling.

„Wait, that worked?“ Jim suddenly piped up, confused as to what just happened.

„Shut up, Jim.“

“It’s mostly deserts, but there are some thick jungles we can’t really get a reading on, we’ll just try to stay clear of them for now, just in case.” Suited up and struggling with an armful of equipment, she listened to Jim drone on about the mission whilst the rest of the team gathered on the transportation pads.

“Just in case?” Leonard froze and she chuckled.

“It’ll be fine, Len, like Jim said, we’ll only be a few hours.” She shot him a grin and he muttered curses under his breath and something that sounded like ‘fine, my ass’ but she couldn’t be sure as the feeling of transportation took over and her feet sunk in sand.

Breathing in the sudden hot air, her eyes immediately strayed to the sky. It was a captivating mix of pink, purple and blue hues. A large, yellow moon hung low on the horizon and she was overwhelmingly glad she got Leonard to stop arguing and let her join. She turned around to comment on it when something made her freeze. Instead of her team, she only saw large cacti standing tall around her and spreading in all directions.

She was alone.

Eyebrows scrunching up, she fought the sudden surge of panic as she hastily searched for her comm, ready ask what the hell was going on, when a voice suddenly piped up from it.

“Landing party has successfully reached its destination.” Jim said and confusion spread through her.

“Uh, sorry to burst your bubble, Jim, but I think I’ve lost you.” She said into the comm, spinning around, trying to catch sight of her team.

“What?” A pause. “Wait, where the hell are you Y/N?!”

“Ah, Captain, something seems to have happened with the transporter that caused Y/L/N to be transported elsewhere.” The distorted voice of Scotty rushed in.

“What do you mean elsewhere? Where is she?” Jim was starting to sound as panicked as she felt. She had a bad feeling in her gut and she couldn’t shake it. She thought she saw movement out of the corner of her eye and swiveled only to be met with another blasted cactus.

“Jim, when you meant forest, where they possibly forests made of cacti?” She huffed and gripped the equipment in her arms tighter. Something was off…. besides the mishap.

“She’s in the forest?! The ‘let’s stay clear of those, just in case’ forests?” Leonard’s voice both soothed her and panicked her even further with its words. Yep, something was definitely off.

“Calm down, Len, I’m sure Scotty can beam me away…. Right, Scotty?” She tried to calm down enough to reassure them both. She would be fine, Scotty would sweep in any second and beam her up. She was met with silence. “Scotty?”

“Ah, eh, no, not exactly, there’s something in there that’s disturbing the process.” He sounded apologetic, but she stopped listening halfway through. She saw movement again, this time right in front of her. Did that… no, did it?

“…something?” Jim asked. At his words, the movement happened again, this time enough to confirm her suspicions. Before she could think, the cactus in front of her literally started slithering towards her.

Update: Here’s part 2!

rainbowninicono  asked:

May i have a scenario of todoroki, bakugou and deku bumping into the nerdy girl in their class and her glasses fall off and she is like really really beautiful without her glasses on and love at first sight just happens ps.good luck with your blog my sweet potato pancake

I’m so sorry for the wait! I’ll be honest with you, I had a lot of trouble writing for this request because I don’t particularly like these kinds of scenarios, but I like a challenge! Also, I was halfway through with Bakugou’s part and was like, you know what, I can do this, and I don’t wanna let this person down. So here you are! It took way longer than it should have, but I hope you like it!

P.S. Thank you so much for wishing me good luck! I couldn’t stop smiling when I read ‘my sweet potato pancake’!

Todoroki Shouto

Everything around you seemed to be moving in slow motion. You were falling, that much you knew, and you could see your glasses – or what you thought were your glasses – in midair beside you. You reach out in an attempt to save them, but they’re just out of reach. You hit the ground with a dull thud, landing on your bottom, and let out a small yelp.

“Ah,” the body in front of you says, unfazed by your collision. “Sorry.”

You look up and stare at the blurry blob in front of you, eyes squinting as you try to focus your vision. You could make out the colors red and white, but that was enough to tell you who you had just bumped into.

“Todoroki-kun?” It came out as more of a question, and you can’t see the confused expression your classmate wore. He couldn’t figure out if you were glaring at him and didn’t understand why you’d said his name like that.

He holds out his hand, and a moment passes before he realizes that you can’t see it. He takes your hands in his and pulls you upright with a strength you didn’t know he possessed, and you almost bump into him again.

“Th-thanks,” you say, blushing from how close the two of you were. You could barely make out his bi-colored eyes, his left one standing out significantly more. You find yourself staring at it before he clears his throat.

“Sorry!” you exclaim, taking a few steps back from him. He wasn’t annoyed with your stare – he hadn’t noticed it at all. He had been too busy doing the same thing to you.

Although you weren’t a supermodel, you were beautiful in your own special way, and it made his chest feel funny. Were you really that quiet girl he knew?

“Um,” you say, cheeks flushed, “I can’t really see, my glasses kind of fell off earlier. Can you…?”

“Oh, of course,” he replies, immediately bending down to pick up the said item. He straightens up quickly and hands them to you, and  the smile that lights up your face makes him feel dizzy.

“Thank you!” This time, your smile is directed at him, and he can feel his face heating up. After putting on your glasses, you look up at him to find his cheeks flushed. “Todoroki-kun, are you okay? Your face is really red.”

“Huh?” He hadn’t realized how hot his face had gotten, immediately cooling himself down with his Quirk. That was strange, he thought. He wasn’t anywhere near angry.

“Ah, I’m fine,” he says. He couldn’t fathom how just wearing glasses made such a big difference in your appearance. You could feel yourself growing warmer under his gaze, but before you get the chance to leave, he says, “They don’t suit you. Those glasses.”

He bites his lip to keep himself from saying more than he needed to and abruptly spins on his heels. As he walks away, you finally take in his words and practically stop breathing. You glance up at him and find the tips of his ears tinted pink, and it makes your heart race in your chest knowing that he was just as flustered as you were.

Bakugou Katsuki

Bakugou didn’t forget faces. Sure, he didn’t make an effort in remembering people’s names, even if they were his classmates, but he sure as hell didn’t completely forget someone’s existence. That’s why he was staring so hard at you right now, eyebrows pulled down in an intense glare as he looked you up and down. He was starting to feel annoyed. Who the fuck were you?

“S-sorry, Bakugou-kun!” you stutter shakily under his crimson eyes, your own wide eyes glued to the ground. You couldn’t see his face, but you could feel the anger radiating from him, even from your spot on the floor. You move your hands around, searching for your glasses that fell off when the blond bumped into you just moments prior. “I should have been paying more attention!”

Your whole being trembled with fear because why wasn’t he saying anything? Was he that mad at you? You just wanted to run out of there as soon as possible, but you couldn’t find your goddamn glasses, and you were considering just leaving without them.

What the hell is she doing? You had been on your knees for the past three minutes, head down, hands scrambling around for something, and it was starting to piss him off. Bakugou finally tears his eyes away from your flustered form and glances a few feet to your side, eyeing a pair of glasses. Was that what you were looking for?

He picks them up and grunts irritably, “Oi!”

You jolt in surprise, a squeak emitting from your lips.

“Are these yours?” He examines the glasses in his hand. They look so familiar, but he can’t put his fucking finger on why he recognized them. For the first time since your encounter, you look up at him, and he swears the world around him stops, his breath catching in his throat. You were the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, eyes wide with shock and cheeks the dyed the color of cherry blossoms.

“My glasses!” You exclaim, reaching out for them and breaking him from his trance He blinks a few times to clear his mind, but that proves useless when your perfect lips pull into a smile. His hands were sweating now, threatening to send sparks flying, and his head already felt like it was exploding. “Thank you, Bakugou-kun!”

He watches as you slip on your glasses, the spell you had cast on him instantly gone as they hide your face once again. Now he knew who you were, donning those big-framed glasses that hid most of your face.

“_______?” he says under his breath, still in denial. How could someone so beautiful change so much with just one accessory?

“Yes?” You look up at him, all traces of fear void from your face now.

“I…” He pauses to think about his words, something he almost never does. He doesn’t want them to come out wrong, but he doesn’t know why either. “Didn’t recognize you.”

You tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear and laugh nervously. “Everyone says that.”

Did he make you uncomfortable? Why did you wear those glasses in the first place? Yeah, you obviously had bad eyesight, but you could’ve chosen better looking frames, right?

“W-well,” you say, clearing your throat, “I’m gonna head back to class now, so… See you, Bakugou-kun.”

His scarlet eyes stay glued to your retreating form, and he swears to get closer to you no matter what.

Midoriya Izuku

“I’m so sorry!” he shouts as soon as he bumps into you, as if it was a reflex. He had been too busy mumbling to himself about something when he crashed into you, but when he laid his eyes on you, whatever it was he was thinking about disappeared from his mind.

You look up at him and blink, trying to guess who he was based on his voice. “Midoriya-kun, right?”

“Y-yes!” he squeaks, voice a few octaves higher than usual. He couldn’t help it, really, with how starstruck your beauty left him.

“Can you help me find my glasses?” you ask after a moment, lips pulled into a shy smile. “I can’t really see without them.”

Once he hands you your glasses, you thank him and slide them over your face, sighing when your vision clears up. “Thank you, Midoriya-kun.”

“N-no problem! It was my fault anyway, since I wasn’t paying attention to where I was walking and ended up bumping into you. I do that sometimes,” he rambles, voice trembling as his cheeks flush bright red. “S-sorry again, ______-chan.”

“It’s alright,” you giggle, finding his rambling rather cute. “I’ll see you in class.”

As you walk away, he debates about whether or not he should tell you how pretty you look without your glasses. Before you enter the classroom, he calls out to you, face redder than before.

“Y-you should take off your glasses more often,” he stutters. “You look good without them.“

You were sure your face looked just like his, your cheeks rising in temperature at his words. Flustered, you squeak out a thanks and dash into the classroom.

Maybe, he thought, if he stuck around you more, he would get to see you without your glasses more, too. Even if he didn’t, he was sure he’d still like to get to know you more.
