also i'm sorry if it's really really bad

“Usually I wouldn’t say this, but can you please just use your magic?”

“You were the one who suggested this, darling.”

“Yes, well, I was wrong.” Alec looked down at his once clean black t-shirt and jeans which were now covered in flour and the occasional splatter of marinara. “Obviously. So, can you please just magic this mess away and steal a pizza, or however it is you magic in ready-made food?”

“Alexander, I’m offended you would even think I don’t pay for the food I get.” Magnus smirked at Alec as he continued to assemble the misshapen pizza.

“Magnus. Come on,” Alec said, closing the distance between himself and his boyfriend so that the sides of their bodies were pressed together and he could sneak an arm around Magnus’ waist to pull him even closer.

“We’re almost done, love. If I magicked up a pizza now all of this would have been for nothing.” Magnus sprinkled another layer of mozzarella on the misshapen dough with an understated flourish that made Alec smile.

“All right. We can finish making it. But if it turns out disgusting will you at least let me order a pizza instead?”

“If the pizza we lovingly made together turns out unpalatable, then yes, I will magic a pizza in.” Alec shook his head at Magnus’ put-upon tone, his smile becoming wider with affection.

“Thank you, Magnus. I love you,” Alec said, leaning in to press a kiss to Magnus’ temple.

“I love you too, Alexander. Although, if you really loved me you would eat the pizza we made together even if it does end up being disgusting.”

“I would do anything for you Magnus. You know that.” Magnus turned away from the pizza for a moment to look into Alec’s eyes, his own eyes bright with love and a hint of disbelief hiding in their depths, still surprised by the loving words that so often passed Alec’s lips. He opened his mouth to reply, but before he could Alec interrupted him. “But asking me to eat disgusting pizza is too much.”

Magnus laughed, his head tilting back and his chest shuddering. Alec wondered at how Magnus laughing somehow made him more beautiful than he already was. His face lighting up as he smiled wide, glowing in such a way that Alec was mesmerised, never wanting to look away, content to live the rest of his life taking in Magnus’ features and watching different expressions play across his face. Alec swallowed hard, his heart beating faster when Magnus turned that ethereal smile his way and gazed at Alec with so much love and softness.

“I suppose it would be too much to ask. I’m sorry I even suggested it,” Magnus teased, wiping his hands with a dish towel before placing one delicately against Alec’s cheek, an action Alec invariably leaned into, his eyes fluttering shut for a moment of their own accord as they always did. Once he opened his eyes Magnus smiled gently before leaning in and pressing their lips together for a mere moment before leaning back, rubbing his thumb against Alec’s cheek.

“Now, will you help me put this definitely not disgusting pizza in the oven?”

“Yes. You know I will,” Alec said smiling and shaking his head minutely so as not to dislodge Magnus’ hand.

“Great,” Magnus said, punctuating the word by patting Alec’s cheek before pulling his hand away and turning back to focus on the pizza. “I am sure that it is going to turn out amazing.”

“So am I.” Alec shook his head fondly, unable to disagree with Magnus when he was smiling like that.

“I’m glad you’re seeing reason, Alexander.”

Alec huffed a laugh as he opened the oven so Magnus could slide the pizza in. He took one last sceptical look at it before closing the oven and releasing a deep breath. As Alec continued to stare at the closed oven doors, worrying about his near future inevitably full of him eating at best subpar pizza, Magnus entered his space,  placing his hands on Alec’s hips. Alec turned to look at Magnus happily; he took in the content smile on Magnus’ face and felt a matching one settle on his own.

“You know, that pizza won’t be done baking for at least eight minutes,” Magnus breathed, tugging Alec just that little bit closer.

“Hmm, really?” Alec’s gaze dropped to Magnus’ lips and his heart startled in his chest.

“Really,” Magnus replied, smirking as he watched Alec stare at his lips.

Alec hummed in response before breaching the space between them and kissing Magnus, catching Magnus’ bottom lip between his own. Magnus sighed into the kiss, bringing up one of his hands to the back of Alec’s neck, scratching at the short hairs there.

After what Alec believed to be much too little time, Magnus broke the kiss, pulling back far enough so he could properly look into Alec’s eyes. “I love you.”

“I love you, too,” Alec breathed, unable to stop a soft smile from forming as he got lost in Magnus’ eyes and his entire body hummed with warmth and love.

You need to be more self aware. I’m surprised you think you can choose your own image. From the audience’s perspective, you’re just a piglet and a kitten.

ok I just want to make something clear, if I take ages to answer to you or don’t at all, it doesn’t mean I don’t care abt you, pls I try my best but I’m mentaly ill and sometimes I can’t even find motivation to feed myself much less to talk to people, so pls if you feel hurt tell me about it sometime later when I’m feeling better or something, but don’t act petty towards me or call me bad names, it really makes me feel bad and I really don’t need that kinda toxicity in my life

Bisexual Percy Headcannons

It’s bi-visibility day, so I thought I’d write some bisexual Percy headcannons!

- Okay so since he was 12 Percy has been so preoccupied, as a result he literally never got time to even question his sexuality.

- It’s not until he turns 17 after the giant war that it even occurs to him that he might actually be attracted to guys, like he had a crush on Annabeth for so long and heteronormativity and internalised biphobia/homophobia made him just assume he was only attracted to girls.

- Plus Percy is pretty embarrassed about being attracted to anyone anyway, and gets embarrassed so easily about it.

-he probably realises he’s attracted to guys because of Nico saying he had a crush on him to be honest

- once he starts to think about it, he realises that he is definitely bisexual (he totally realises his huge crush on Luke from when he was younger)

- He definitely talks to Sally about it straight away, who of course is an absolute Saint about it.

- I reckon he tells her that he’s worried what people will think, and she tells him he doesn’t have to tell anyone if he doesn’t feel comfortable

- (and that if he wants too he shouldn’t be friends with anyone who doesn’t accept him anyway)

- I think it’s quite a while after until he tells anyone else. He definitely has some internalised biphobia.

- after a while, I think he tells Paul next?

-I’m not too sure how close they are, I like to think they are and he seems to be in canon, but I’m not 100%.

- but assuming he tells Paul, Paul is totally understanding and nice too.

- I think he’d be really nervous to tell Annabeth at first.

- this could be totally self-indulgent but I like to think he talks to Nico about it, and he comforts Percy by saying how nice Annabeth was to him when he came out as gay.

- I think he would be worried she’d get jealous or something?

- which I don’t think she would, I think she’d be totally nice and accepting of it, she knows Percy loves her and him being bi doesn’t change that or make it more likely he’ll cheat.

-I mean Annabeth is quite a jealous person, but she wouldn’t get more jealous because of this.

- basically after that is just Percy being happily and openly bisexual and totally smitten by Annabeth Chase at the same time, and Annabeth chase is just an amazing person as usual too.

- once Annabeth gets used to the idea her and Percy totally talk about guys being attractive (read: Jason) and Annabeth is bi too (so they talk about girls as well, PIPER).

Can you talk about the pros and the cons of Olivia Hussey's Juliet? She is my favourite Juliet, but I would like to see a more critical review of her portrayal for once!

Ah! I’m really happy that you asked this because I’m hopelessly in love with Franco Zeffirelli’s movie and I could talk about Olivia Hussey’s acting all day long.

The first thing I would like to remark is the context in which the movie was made. In many ways, it is a mirror of the youth movements of the 60s, and the trope of idealism versus violence, dreaming versus fighting, is one of the main characteristics of the movie. The fights are really violent (the opening brawl, for instance, was filmed in a more aggressive way than usual, as it fatally has Capulets and Montagues murdering each other and women screaming with their children in their arms), and it presents Romeo and Juliet’s love as an innocent, harmless force as opposed to the cultural violence that surrounds them. Olivia Hussey underscored how excellently the movie had harmonized with the ideals of her generation. And, indeed, you could say it is an ode to sexual freedom, peace, and the power of youth. You can see that in the way Zeffirelli filmed the bedroom scene, with Juliet lying naked after consummating a marriage she arranged herself.

Zeffirelli seemed to be particularly interested in her character:

The central idea is that of a puppeteer, Destiny, who handles all the characters. They are all puppets on a stage and no one is fully responsible. The whole tragedy is permeated with the idea of fate. There is nothing to do. Juliet is the only valuable opposition to it

So he decided to exploit the transgression of Juliet’s acts, and I will always be grateful to him for giving us such a powerful, intrepid Juliet. He was also one of the first directors to cast teenagers to play the lovers. Precisely, physically speaking I consider Olivia to be really suitable for the role. The innocence and tenderness of childhood she conveys wonderfully, but once she gets to express herself you find that her eyes denote such intelligence, her voice such fortitude, that you couldn’t possibly dismiss her as a dumb kid. (To be honest, I can’t fathom how it is possible to distort the play to the point that people think the word “dumb” befits Juliet and Romeo.) She transmits so much expressiveness with those piercing, inquisitive eyes and her loud, firm voice. See how monotonous she sounds when she lies to the Nurse, but how fierce her voice is during the “O bid me leap…” speech in the cell. She is a Juliet that does something else apart from blushing and smiling tenderly—she is also restless, frustrated, even rude in some parts. She doesn’t limit herself to simply reciting her lines in a monotonous tone, but rather she inserts so much depth and energy in every single word that she succeeds in constructing a complex Juliet—Olivia handled the duality of her character really well. Sometimes she cries fearfully on the floor as she implores her parents to listen to her and sometimes she contemptuously yells at her mother that she won’t marry Paris “by Saint Peter’s Church and Peter too.”

To me, Olivia portrayed Juliet as a young girl who is too alive to contain herself—as if the world weren’t big enough for her. One of the things that amazes me about her acting is the way she uses her body to transmit her indefatigable energy. She shows a great command of herself. For instance, I noticed that she spends a huge amount of time running. We find her running the first time we see her, she leaves the scene running after her conversation with her mother, she arrives at the ball running, she comes in and out of her balcony running repeatedly, she arrives in the church running again, and hurriedly crosses herself before running again toward Romeo with her arms wide open. I could go on. (But interestingly, during Paris and Friar Lawrence’s brief conversation in the cell, she comes in running as well, but once she spots Paris she stops suddenly and starts walking instead, as if she were attempting to behave more correctly, faking to be a more restrained and therefore acceptable woman. She does this as well when she runs to her mother’s bedroom and stops abruptly before Lady Capulet can see her.) With this restlessness and her resolute nature, she transgresses the tediousness of her society—she is simply too in love with life itself to confine herself to inaction. It makes perfect sense to hear her describe herself as “a boundless sea” when you hear her exhilarated laughter.

And then she denotes so much determination and self-condifence. Olivia takes advantage of every single line to portray Juliet as an independent, strong-minded young girl. “But trust me, gentleman, I’ll prove more true / Than those that have more cunning to be strange.” She sounds so angry when she says that. More than swearing her love to Romeo, she looks like she is threatening him not to fool her. (He actually even nods nervously there and it’s hilarious.) And her face is priceless when he tries to swear his love by the moon. She tells him off. She is so resolute and skeptical throughout the whole balcony scene, it’s wonderful. I invite you to watch that scene again, paying attention to her facial expressions.

Another scene I think is worth commenting is 2.5, when the Nurse delivers Romeo’s news to her. I like to compare her acting here with that of other actresses playing Juliet. In this scene, her impatience is usually portrayed more like an inoffensive, sweet frustration. She is still adorable even when she is irritated. However, Olivia’s Juliet does not even try to palliate her impatience. When she goes down the stairs and notices that the Nurse is not yet come, she boldly places her needlework on the table as she goes on ranting about how disgusted she is by old people. When the Nurse finally arrives with Peter, Juliet basically puts her hands on her waist impatiently and kicks him out after giving him a quite exasperated look. She then even takes away an apple that the Nurse was holding in her teeth and clenches her fists. But when she finally gets her Nurse to tell her what she wants, she euphorically bursts into laughter and thus leaves the scene running enthusiastically. I find this much more entertaining than, say, Rebecca Saire’s acting, who was only slightly impatient in comparison with Olivia’s liveliness.

The movie is replete with moments like that. I still can’t get over the way she looks at her own cousin when she turns around (screencaps here), or the fact that she doesn’t even look at Paris when he kisses her hand and says farewell before leaving the ball. Moreover, the camera tends to focus on her emotions. The first kiss is filmed in a way that only allows you to contemplate Juliet’s face and all the different emotions she goes through. There is that long kissing sequence in the balcony scene where you can only see her face as well. And in the last scene, the first hint that she is still alive comes from her hand. The camera focuses entirely on it as she begins to move her fingers slowly, but all of a sudden she clenches her fist with strength and resolution. The camera then follows her hand as it reaches her face, and those wide, alert eyes open again. Those are just a few examples, but the movie is full of close-ups of her intelligent eyes.

The main flaw of Olivia’s Juliet, however, is the same flaw of the whole movie: too many lines were cut out (more than half of the play!). Certainly they skipped some of her wittiest moments, such as the part where she deceives her mother, or the “gallop apace” speech, in which she so explicitly poeticizes sex. Although its absence is partly compensated, in my opinion, by the more than evident sexual agency she shows throughout the movie. She actively looks for Romeo at the ball, and even when he touches her hand for the first time, the camera shoots her eyes closing in ecstasy. She grabs his shoulders in their second kiss, and even holds his face in her hands and kisses him as he stays still in the balcony scene.

Another thing I dislike is her reaction to Tybalt’s death. The way she criticizes Romeo is wonderfully acted again—really vigorous and enraged. But it stops there. The last thing she says is, “But wherefore, villain, didst thou kill my cousin?” In the play she goes on trying to find out what must have really happened between Romeo and Tybalt, and she comes to her own conclusions. However, in the movie, we just see her bash Romeo and then we don’t see her again until the next morning, when she is happily sleeping by his side. It sort of weakens the character, because Juliet doesn’t forgive him entirely until she decides it couldn’t had been his fault.

And, of course, there is the potion speech missing. It is actually the soliloquy she chose for her audition, but Zeffirelli decided to cut it out because he feared it would alter the balance between Romeo and Juliet in terms of their importance to the plot: “If she does this potion speech, she’ll get all the attention. The film won’t be Romeo and Juliet—it will be ‘Did you see Olivia Hussey in that scene?”

But I think Olivia’s Juliet is excellently paired up with Leonard’s Romeo—the angriest Juliet comes with the softest Romeo. It is as though Thought and Dream intertwined. While Juliet speaks with a very potent, determined voice, Leonard’s Romeo has more of a whispering, soft tone. (We literally see him sighing with his eyes closed against some pretty flowers.) This duality of their personalities is tangible in the very way they are introduced in the movie. Romeo’s entrance is accompanied by a dreamy, tender song as he appears smiling at a flower that he is holding in his hands; Juliet, on the contrary, shows up running while a much more energetic song is playing (from around 1:03 on). It goes on like that for the rest of the movie and it culminates with their last words. Romeo raises the venom with tears streaming down his face as he slowly whispers, “here’s to my love”. (It! Breaks! My! Heart!) Juliet, however, roars her last words, and even half smiles at the dagger for a moment as she commands it to “rust” in her.

So what I love about her is her strength and her ability to denote so much expressiveness with her body. If only I could watch her perform all the missing lines. She did so much with the little she was given, it’s wonderful. We need more Juliets like this—Juliets who express themselves so freely and fearlessly.

Holy FRICK, it's youuu. I've seen your art all over and never realized it was one person who created all these amazing pieces? How did I not? They're all so good? Anyways I'm here now. Subscribed and all!

Excuse my reaction but ‘all over’ sounds like … everywhere but tumblr? D:  (Which, if that’s the case, makes me really unhappy because my art should only be on this site.. with some exceptions)

But yeah… Well .. I am glad that you found me? o_o .. and yes all these shitty little jokes are mine. They’re bad :’D .. and the art is just sketches but yes. That’s all mine. When you see a bad joke with seijou 3rd years involved, it’s probably mine because that’s been all I did lately :’D… I’m very sorry for it, I just can’t stop. But I am very happy that you seem to enjoy all my dumb art.
And I guess I need to get a bit more continuity in my style. I realize some pieces look very different in style from others. I’m still not where I actually want to be so, yeah. :D

i found a text post around tumblr where this guy's roommate came home really drunk and designed an airplane (with all the drawings and calculations and shit) while intoxicated and didn't remember it the next day could u imagine that with cf victor and yuuri tho lmfao

“Okay, okay, look,” Yuuri slurs, lying on Victor’s chest with a notepad held above his head and a pen resting between his fingers. “Look,” he repeats, as though Victor isn’t looking. “See?

“See what?” Victor asks, brushing Yuuri’s hair back out of his eyes. It’s not particularly comfortable, lying like this, but he’s not about to complain. Yuuri is adorable when he’s drunk.

He had been playing some game with Phichit for a few hours, and then he’d come back to their dorm room like this. Immediately, he’d collapsed on top of Victor and started babbling incessantly about a genius breakthrough he’d had. Now, he’s designing an airplane, and is very adamant that Victor pay attention to whatever it is he’s doing. “Look! Look!” he’s insisting.

“I’m looking,” Victor promises.

“See the, um, what’s that part called? The wing! See how the wing is shaped? Like that? That helps,” he informs him, but his serious tone is betrayed by his occasional hiccup. “Listen,” he repeats.

Victor can’t help but laugh, now. “I am listening, Yuuri. I’m listening and looking. I promise.”

“Now if we just… The air resistance…” He starts scribbling formulas.

In an attempt to get him to forget about his airplane, Victor runs his foot up the bottom of Yuuri’s sweatpants, drifts it across his ankle. Yuuri doesn’t even seem to notice. “So you’re designing an airplane?” he asks, because if you can’t beat them, join them.

Yuuri shifts on top of him–it’s incredibly distracting. “Mmm,” he agrees. A second later, he thrusts his drawing in front of him, admiring it. “Done.”

“Done?”

As if an afterthought, he adds a few more numbers with little arrows pointing to pieces of the plane. Then, he puts the paper down on the bed and turns onto his side, his entire weight still resting on Victor. Victor wraps his arms around him, keeps their legs tangled together. “Goodnight, Yuuri.”

“You’re so nice, Vitya,” he mumbles against Victor’s chest. “So nice. Love you.”

“Love you too.”

~

“Who wrote this?” Yuuri asks the following morning, holding up his airplane design. Then, he pauses, and slowly but surely brings the paper closer to his eyes. “This design is actually intuitive.”

“You made it last night,” Victor reminds him. “You don’t remember?”

“I made this?”

“You’re even smarter than me when you’re drunk,” he teases, gripping Yuuri’s hips with his hands and looking at the paper over his shoulder. “Except, there is a drool stain on my shirt.”

Yuuri turns in his arms and then cringes when he sees the prominent stain on Victor’s chest. Then, though, he seems to identify his mischievous smile and nudges his shoulder instead of being embarrassed. “Well, you’re a good pillow.”

“I like being your pillow. Can I major in that? Yuuri Katsuki’s pillow. Whenever you want to design airplanes while drunk again, just let me know. Or if you want to do something else while lying on top of me…” He pauses, lets the meaning behind his words settle in. “Let me know.”

“I’m up for doing something else while lying on top of you.”

Victor perks up. “You are?”

“Like playing games on my phone, reading a book, talking to Makkachin…”

“Yuuri.”

“I’m kidding.” He takes his hand and squeezes it, then leads him to the bed. “Really though, that design wasn’t bad. Remind me to show it to Phichit later.”
